Points forts

Earthsieger/eero · Eero Pro 6E review: faster Wi-Fi but flakier performance →2022-05-05T18:17:32
Yep, I agree. I recently had issues with my Pro 6 tri-pack where the gateway would stop seeing the connection from the modem somehow. For days I thought it was an issue on Spectrum's end, as the Eeros would go down most often in the middle of the night. I followed the usual trouble shooting steps of holding the reset button on the Eero, rebooting the modem, etc. In the end, the only thing that worked (for now) was unplugging the gateway for 15 minutes and letting everything fully power down. The app, while nice when the network is fine, is an absolute nightmare when you are trying to diagnose an issue. I knew what I was getting into when I picked this mesh system, but I didn't realize how much I would miss the usual local browser access to assist with diagnosing issues. At the end of the day, I got so fed up that I'm getting quotes on wiring my house with Cat6 to get away from completely wireless solutions.

ltdansicecreamr/amazoneero · Would you recommend moving from Eero Pro 6 -> Eero Max 7? →2024-11-17T20:25:29
I upgraded from Pro 6 to Max 7 last January. My Pro 6s was mostly stable, but when I started having dozens of devices suddenly dropping off randomly and having to reboot everything multiple times, I had enough and even considered switching brands. I decided to give the Max 7s a shot almost solely because the upgrade process is so easy and pain free, and when you’ve got a lot of WiFi connected smart devices you really want zero pain. Turns out I made the correct decision because my network has never been more stable and the speeds are great. I have a pure wireless backhaul and consistently get over 900Mbps download on my 1.4 gig service. Be aware that the Max 7 units are significantly larger than the Pro 6 units.

I should clarify that I use the Eero Pro 6, non-E. But yes, the wireless backhaul is garbage.

As an owner of the 6E I agree. Every few days my wife complains the node stopped working near her office. It shows red and we reboot the network. I'm hoping 6.10 has resolved this.

12InchPickler/eero · Eero Pro 6E and Eero 6+ Review: Fast and Easy →2022-04-05T15:09:58
If someone cares a lot about wireless backhaul, has no 6E devices and there’s a lot of 2.4 & 5ghz devices / interference around my network. Would you say the jump from Pro 6 to Pro 6E is worth it, primarily for the backhaul?

InvaderDJr/eero · Eero Pro 6E review: faster Wi-Fi but flakier performance →2022-05-05T17:39:07
Their wireless backhaul numbers are interesting. I expected better performance given what I’ve read here. Their speeds were still usable, but I would consider them low. I wonder if the reviewer having WiFi 6E devices means that it couldn’t dedicate the 6Ghz band fully to backhaul, if there’s some other issue or if this is expected behavior.

havalocr/eero · Eero Pro 6E review: faster Wi-Fi but flakier performance →2022-05-05T16:28:20
I have a 6+ system and it turns out better numbers than both their review systems (6 Pro and 6E). I think it's the sweet spot, a "second generation" WiFi 6 experience, which is more refined, and a great price to match.

I’d say my pro 6’s took about a year from release to work through most of the kinks. I assume these will be similar.

Imagine a company releasing “pro model” hardware with no “pro” features. At least Apple adds a few extra goodies…

Bought the Eero Pro 6E a few weeks ago to replace a problematic Asus AiMesh system. Haven't had any of the issues the article talks about and haven't had a reboot at all in the 3 weeks I've had it

Definitely. Not bagging on the 6E (had it before 7) - just stating why the Pro 6 is actually better in most scenarios.

Yeah well again remember depending on your devices that are connecting to 6E or even wifi 7 when it comes out if those devices don't have 6E or 7 they will only perform at what they support no matter what wifi mesh system you use. So the Pro 6 should be fine for everyone due to majority of people don't have all 6E devices.

shadowbansarestupidr/HomeNetworking · Recommendation for a new mesh wifi system →2026-05-03T02:50:41
I'm contemplating dropping some ethernet through the attic. My coaxial is on the first floor, and I would want to run it to the room directly above and the basement directly below for the entertainment center so I feel like it shouldn't be too difficult! Which Eero system would you go with for a 1.5 Gbps symmetric plan? My ISP will let me borrow 2 Eero Pro 6 for free, but I feel like that won't be significantly different from my XE75 Pros.

Specifically the eero pro 6 is a great deal on very good hardware. You can buy them refurbished for 125 right now. Granted it’s no longer made, but it’s a steal for a 3 radio setup, and eero will support it till 2030.

I had 3 eero pro 6’s and it seems like the AP7’s coverage is a little bet less (like 15% less). I had coverage in my driveway with eero for example. I have close to 4000 sq ft. Should I consider more APs or do you feel your 5 is overkill?

So as for cooling yes the 6pro and 6e yes they get warm I would say that it lowers the life span my 6 pro I had have been going for 4.5 years and now they went to my neighbors house and they are still going very strong. The 7s definitely are way better and if I had the money to drop on them I would in an instant.

Fit-Bowl3491r/amazoneero · Gateway Eero Pro 6 WiFi speed much faster than the two “mesh” Eero Pro 6 routers →2023-07-13T15:55:03
Found the solution! To answer your questions first: the switch I have is a Netgear gs108 (unmanaged). When I plugged into the mesh routers directly via the second port, I was only getting 100 mbps. (The other Ethernet ports around my house were getting near the 1000 gbps my hardwired gateway router was delivering) I checked that the specific Ethernet drops feeding into the mesh routers, they were limited to 100mbps. So I replaced the gigabit switch that disperses the Ethernet drops throughout my home from the gateway router and boom, 1000 Mbps when wired in and the expected 400-500 Mbps WiFi from all 3 routers. Thank you for the help!

I just switched from eero pro 6 which worked fine but I wanted to try something different, so switch them to ASUS et12 2 pack, they work fine but I’m having some issues that I dont understand very well, I’ve got smart air conditioners that worked perfectly on eeros but when trying to connecting them to the new network they don’t see it, even they are very close to the nodes, the Same room, and I’ve got only one 6e device which is an iPad Pro 6th gen and can’t see the 6ghz band when trying to connecting it to, maybe some of you could help me out here to see what I can do, both nodes are connected trough Ethernet, all other devices seem to work fine, thanks a lot

KDRZ06r/amazoneero · Did I make a huge mistake? Kept Pro 6E and returned Nest Pro, significantly worse performance... →2022-11-18T16:34:56
My logic tricked me, I had the Pro 6 running great but decided to try the Nest Pro and had the same performance even though I lost the dedicated wireless backhaul but now had 6E if I had devices that support it, so when I was able to get the Pro 6E for $25 less than the Pro 6 and Nest Pro, I thought that was a no brainer, newest tech, cheapest price. Every review showed it outperforming the other two if even just a little. I literally was testing the Pro 6 and Nest Pro back to back for days but the 6E I just assumed it would be the best and of course have the worst performance. Unfortunately returned the other 2, guess I can hope a deal pops up on one of the other ones in the next 2 months or Eero fixes these with an update.

Icy-Computer7556r/amazoneero · Deciding between Amazon eero 6+ vs 6E →2022-09-27T00:40:54
Interesting, definitely noticed the longer I let it run the better it became, as of now, it is running beautifully. I am pretty happy with it. I could have gone with a firewalla or something else, but I honestly don't need that kinda hardware nor does it serve me any purpose aside from well, most definitely having enhanced security. I felt like the Pro 6 was the best value for $ and also been out for a bit and had longer chance to have most kinks worked out. I think when it comes to deciding to use Eeeros, its a case by case matter and its definitely not for power user use. Most of my work is being remote into systems anyways. So far LAN and wireless have been performing well for me. Maybe not everyone gets lucky, I know in the past I have been one of those people. I think like other have said, the parts being used lately may just be crap because of supply chain issues. I have been seeing that in a lot of other places too, not just Eeros.

Yea, I see that lol. I did swap out for the pro 6, and honestly? Its been alot less buggy. Sure wifi speeds are probably slightly better than the Amplifi, but for almost half the cost, its more consistent, UPNP and other things ACTUALLY work as intended, no drops, no issues, gaming feels good, even better than a router with ridiculous specs like the Alien. I know people give eero alot of crap, but man the complains on those unifi devices is insane
