Mullvad

r/AskFrance · Vous utilisez quel VPN ?

r/privacy · PrivacyGuides refuses to remove Proton VPN even after its killswitch's been found to leak on two platforms - wants to change the criteria instead Honestly, at this point I still like proton for general purposes. I use their email because it has the largest base and it works fairly well. I still use their VPN because I’m not really trying to hide much over vpn anyway. Most people don’t realize that being logged into their gmail account while using a VPN will still result in them being able to be tracked across the web. I generally use the VPN so when I go to pornhub or elsewhere I won’t get blocked, also because being outside the US it’s often easier to access lots of stuff by just vpning to a server in the US. Quite a few of my local government pages are inaccessible otherwise. I also use their storage options because it’s not a super critical use case. I trust people I don’t want can’t access my storage and people I want to can and it’s not being spied on in the way google is. If you’re a journalist or someone with an exceptionally high threat model, definitely be aware of this kind is stuff and consider switching to mulvad, but this doesn’t change my own personal threat model at all. I think there is reasonable criticism, but being entirely honest there will always be reasonable criticism and trade offs, the difference is you see them where others don’t.

r/privacy · PrivacyGuides refuses to remove Proton VPN even after its killswitch's been found to leak on two platforms - wants to change the criteria instead > I read the thread you linked to and surprisingly (or maybe not), you misrepresent the overall issue and the response from their staff. The issue is that on MacOS and Linux, Proton VPN specifically leaks in certain scenarios. Mullvad and IVPN do no such thing. The response from the staff took three months, when they are clearly active on the forum otherwise. I don't feel like I misrepresent that at all. Their own guidelines say that a functioning killswitch is a requirement, and Proton VPN currently does not have the same level of killswitch as Mullvad or IVPN do. As for their response when it comes to Qubes. Would you accept if Signal was only E2EE in some cases and not in all cases? Probably not. If the reality is that Proton VPN's killswitch simply can't be trusted and that this is a platform-specific issue, then why even have a rule about killswitches at all? >It seems like this is actually an issue with almost all VPNs because there’s just no way for them to completely guarantee kill switches with without low level OS access and OS level kill switch features. In the thread, IVPN and Mullvad are both brought up as VPNs that *do* work as intended on MacOS. These are the other two VPNs recommended on PG, so it strikes me as odd that Proton in particular is allowed when it's clearly possible to fix it. Manually on Linux, and for the developers for the Proton VPN. >It also sounds like their took the general feedback that it would be best to not remove it (because it means to remove all vpns) and instead make the limitations clearer We're currently at month 3 of this being known to them, and they have chosen not to act in any way so far. It's the fact that Proton is for now a worse choice if you're on MacOS that is the issue, not the fact that all VPNs are technically worse on Linux. >It also sounds like their took the general feedback that it would be best to not remove it (because it means to remove all vpns) and instead make the limitations clearer But why change it when there are clearly VPNs that do better in this regard? So that they can keep Proton on the list?

r/ProtonVPN · Following the recent Mullvad VPN drama, I have cancelled my contract with them after a couple of years. Is ProtonVPN a good alternative? I've used and use both quite extensively (Mullvad a bit longer than ProtonVPN). My thoughts, if that's okay: 1. ProtonVPN's free option (which also comes with a free email address, or vice versa) is generous in terms of data usage each month. Yes, it will limit you to the US, Japan and the Netherlands servers, but you won't have a data cap each month (unlike, eg, Tunnelbear, though here I will admit that it's been many years regarding TBear, so I don't know if this still stands). You won't be able to torrent or stream for the most part (outside of MUBI), but it's a good way to gauge what you think in terms of quality before taking the plunge. 2. Their *paid* option does naturally have more country servers, more obfuscation options, more speed etc, and will be quite streamer and torrent friendly. Relatives of mine will want to watch Disney+, BBC iPlayer, ITVX and Channel4 when out of the UK and Europe, and I've had no trouble whatever in each case. Torrenting is also pretty good in terms of speed, in my experience. It will be more expensive than the €5 that Mullvad asks for, yes, but you're also getting an *ecosystem* \- VPN, email, storage, calendar, password manager (crypto wallet and AI as well, but I don't use either of the latter, but others may do), Proton's version of Google Docs, and so on. 3. For transparency purposes, there have been some faux pas regarding the way the head of Proton has communicated particular stances regarding the US government, to the point where he came across as being pro-Republican or pro-Trump to some. I tack to the left and I was concerned, but I put it down to a degree of bad judgement on his part, but he has also criticised that same administration, as well as similar ones in Europe, Canada, Australia, Asia etc. There was also a recent controversy over a far-right YouTuber from France being part of Proton's affiliation programme, and he name-checked the company. The initial responses from Proton did come across as general, yes, but they've also admitted that they should have been more active in vetting, and they cancelled his affiliation, if I recall. Proton has also actively given to and otherwise supported rights organisations and bodies in the Global North and South in regards to freedom of expression, privacy, anti-surveillance, so while the occasional statement may be clunky, they are also transparent and mean what they say in this regard. I will admit that I wasn't too happy at first with Proton's handling of the comments *and* the far-right YouTuber affiliation situation, and they can be clunky for the most part, but my view is that they try to do the right thing, and try to be balanced, but also transparent. Also, my experience in regards to their services has been pretty good thus far. I hope this helps in some way!

r/ProtonVPN · Is ProtonVPN better than Mullvad and/or Surfshark VPN? Proton and Mullvad are comparable. Surfshark is not even in the planet and cannot be compared to these 2. Proton has more servers and allows 10 devices. You can get it on good deals for 2 years. Mullvad is slightly more private as it does not even require an email. But servers are not as large on quantity as proton. Only 6 devices are allowed. Both are excellent in privacy - no logs. Both accept cash. Mullvad you can buy prepaid voucher from Amazon. Proton you can get gift vouchers from proton shop online.

r/ProtonVPN · Is ProtonVPN better than Mullvad and/or Surfshark VPN? >I pirate textbooks, movies and games. Do you use torrents? If yes I'd strongly recommend you using ProtonVPN because it supports port-forwarding which WILL get you higher download/upload speeds. If you don't use torrents and just want to stay safe both are equally great options.
r/ProtonVPN · Give me your honest opinion on proton vpn ProtonVPN is (next to Mullvad) the only VPN I trust. I have rarely issues with it (even if issues appear they mostly fixed themselves by reconnecting the VPN). Pros: * [Multiple audits](https://protonvpn.com/blog/no-logs-audit) to prove no-logs policy and open-source * (Mostly) Really fast connection * [many servers to choose from in many different countries](https://protonvpn.com/vpn-servers) * unlimited data-volume (even for free users) * swiss jurisdiction (strong privacy laws) * peer-to-peer servers and port-forwarding (especially for torrenting) * (upcoming) ipv6-support (already available on browser extensions and linux) * available on almost [all platforms](https://protonvpn.com/features/multi-platform-support) * supports wireguard, openvpn and [stealth](https://protonvpn.com/blog/stealth-vpn-protocol) (a vpn-protocol to bypass censorship) Cons: * bad, lagging-behind Linux app (bad ui and missing features) * more expensive with their premium-plans than some competitors * slower at implementing new features I can't find any more pros/cons. If you have suggestions, tell me. Before you subscribe I'd recommend you to test their free plan (be aware that the speeds might be slower due to higher usage of free servers). If you like it and you can afford it, I'd recommend you subscribing to their paid plan.

r/ProtonVPN · Very disappointed in ProtonVPN. Am I missing something? I'm a bit ignorant in regards to ports, so I thought it would work similar to when we open a port on the router, I would get a port assigned to me and that would be it. I guess that changing it once in a while isn't all that bad, especially since there are programs that automate this interaction. I can open my games normally with Mullvad. But when I'm using Proton and try to open Black Desert Online for example, the game doesn't load and freezes while starting up. Same thing with Star Citizen. Split tunneling the executables, be it from the game itself, the launcher or the anticheat doesn't work. I have to turn off ProtonVPN and try again so I can connect.
r/ProtonVPN · Very disappointed in ProtonVPN. Am I missing something? >o you have an example of website for which you have problems with Proton VPN (which server), but it works nicely with Mullvad (which server)? r/ProtonVPN · Is ProtonVPN still a good option in 2025 for general privacy and Netflix? Captchas and blocks are also frequent with Proton
r/ProtonVPN · Is Proton Better or Mullvad? Being RAM only is not a criteria. Police is getting smarter. r/IVPN · New to IVPN It seems pretty straight forward to me to be honest. The founder made a donation to an organization with values that others find abhorrent. As such people are choosing to take their business elsewhere - as they have every right to. I'm not sure what more there is to understand about that - and framing and disparaging it as 'group think' or 'sheeple' or the like seems purposefully dismissive.

r/IVPN · New to IVPN Sorry but you miss the point. Write here and to them. This isn't just about avoiding a car sold by a POS, or ditching an OS that mass-surveils by design; the topic here is privacy and, to some extent, personal safety. Is more subtle and deeper. A head representative of service whose core mission is to fight digital surveillance and protect user freedom, but then finances the exact opposite, isn't just a semantic contradiction—it’s an ethical dead end. These politicians love to hijack the word 'freedom', but their endgame—mass deportations, targeting minorities, dismantling democratic checks—requires a surveillance state far more intrusive than anything a VPN could ever block. You can't sell me a tool to hide from the panopticon while writing a check to the guy trying to build it.

r/IVPN · Question No, but there is nothing we can do about this. It's not like there is an [orderaraid.com](http://orderaraid.com) where you can get certified as a VPN provider. I think we can agree Mullvad is a competent, trustworthy provider, we hope people perceive IVPN like that as well. There are differences in approach, app UI, etc. and now we have a different approach in bundling services. If you are happy with Mullvad, I suggest you stay with Mullvad.
r/IVPN · Question Pricing and benefits for our new Standard plan is very similar to Mullvad. I don’t think the “why you are paying more for this” framing holds up. We also have more expensive plans with other services bundled in, we see a healthy % of new signups going with Plus or Pro Suite. There is no port forwarding support, we removed it after Mullvad as many that abused it there moved to IVPN after, we had no choice.

r/ProtonVPN · Is ProtonVPN better than Mullvad and/or Surfshark VPN? Surfshark is cheap but you get what you pay for. I haven't used it in some years but the last time I had Surfshark it was laggy software, inconsistent speeds and occasional IP leaks while connected. I moved from Surfshark to Nord which was better but still had issues, then from Nord to Proton. I haven't had any issues with Proton so far except a couple minor outages. Mullvad is a solid option too if all you need is VPN, but it doesn't have port forwarding so it may affect torrenting efficiency if you do that. I prefer Proton because I pay for Unlimited and use all Proton suite except the Wallet.
r/ProtonVPN · Is Proton Better or Mullvad? Proton has more features. If you need a basic, simple VPN with maximum anonymity go for Mullvad, otherwise Proton.

r/ProtonVPN · Is ProtonVPN better than Mullvad and/or Surfshark VPN? Overall, ProtonVPN is 1 point better at 8.3/10. Mullvad is 7.6/10. * Mullvad does poorly in the following, they also have less servers than Proton. * Fails to unblock most streaming sites * No transparency report or logging audit * No live chat support * No Fire TV Stick app or Smart DNS * Port forwarding removed Mullvad is based in Sweden, which means it has to follow the EU’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) law. There are serious privacy implications to an EU jurisdiction: **Mullvad is obliged to collect your payment information** should you pay via bank wire, PayPal, Swish, or Stripe. Here’s what Mullvad knows based on your payment method: * **Bank wire:** your name, address, bank account number and Mullvad account number. * **PayPal:** transaction-ID, your name, country of origin, email address. * **Swish:** Swish-ID, name, phone number. * **Stripe:** Stripe charge ID, expiration date, last four digits of the card, card type, and origin country. As you can see, if you pay via bank wire your Mullvad account number is associated with personally-identifiable information. The only other data Mullvad collects is the content of emails and problem reports that you send, as well as the email address you use.

r/ProtonVPN · Is ProtonVPN better than Mullvad and/or Surfshark VPN? You have got to do your own homework on this one. There are many sites that do feature comparisons and ratings for each of these services. One's final choice is personal based on one's own needs, location, feature requirements and actual experience with the service. Read this subreddit enough and you will read many contrasting experiences with the service as with any other. I use ProtonVPN and it works great for me. I use Apple hardware and OS's. They are currently based in Switzerland. I appreciate their privacy policies that have been tested/audited regularly. My main attraction to Proton has been its email. When I subscribed to their service, the VPN came as part of it. It works well, so I have stuck with it. In the past, I used Nord, Express, Mullvad and AirVPN. They all worked well generally. When I wanted port-forwarding was when I found AirVPN (great for this) and stopped using it since ProtonVPN does offer port-forwarding as a feature.

r/IVPN · Question Used to be mullvad fan for over a decade but then i stopped once i saw they started dodging all the chat control topics and then the huge issue with their servers being detected by most sites was also a drawback for me. I started using ivpn the last few years and I wasn’t disappointed, their support is very solid and they try their hardest to fix your issues if there’s any. With their latest update that came along with some solid choices of bundles i feel like ivpn has achieved what others won’t be able to for the next few years. I have huge respect for these guys and i will stick to them for longer if not forever because i feel like they’re the top dogs at this point, maybe i will come back to mullvad if they take their shit serious again and have better things to impress me with than ivpn but for now they’re just sinking slowly.
r/IVPN · New users Don’t have any issues with speed and have been using Mullvad for a decade i was a pro mullvad back then but few months ago they just started showing no interest in improving their services nor their Apps. With ivpn its just straight up easy to use and don’t forget you can add 2FA to your account for an additional protection, servers are doing great for me too i always connect to those close and even if I don’t the speed decrease isn’t big compared to other providers.

r/ProtonVPN · Choosing Between Proton VPN and Mullvad(English) Asking on proton so course every proton user going to say it is and vice versa if you asked on Mullvad though they do different things. For example mullvad won't work with Netflix. Paying with that though wouldn't make your privacy any better. You need to test both out to your needs so yes the best advice is to try both. Mullvad is only 5 dollars a month depending on conversion rates. In the meantime if your not currently subscribed to Proton, as you said previously, then you could always use their free plan depending on needs/wants. My real question would be what do you want/need a VPN for and what do you prioritise more in said VPN.

r/ProtonVPN · Speed - Nordvpn x Proton Trust me when I say they both have the same speeds. Also trust me when I say that there's only 2 VPN companies worth considering and Nord isn't one. ProtonVPN is best for the average user and has port forwarding. I would suggest this to most people. Mullvad is best for privacy reasons if you're crazy about that. I used Nord, then Mullvad, and now ProtonVPN. I bought 2 years of Proton. The others I had for a year each.
r/ProtonVPN · Speed - Nordvpn x Proton What would you like to know? They provide the same thing essentially unless you understand what you need. ProtonVPN provides port forwarding which is better for torrenting. It's 100% the reason I switched but I have been happy with the speeds. Mullvad has more obfuscation methods like adding more data to your packets to throw off AI surveillance. Mullvad also offers more methods of connecting in countries that have VPN's blocked by the government. I'm not saying they will work, but there are more methods to try.

r/IVPN · Should I choose IVPN Both have great Linux support but I rate IVPN's higher. There's a tiny bit of jank with IVPN but nothing that's a deal breaker. Unfortunately I'd say neither are good for torrenting since they lack port forwarding.
r/IVPN · New users The front end of this app could use some work, but after my initial hurdles and it became a matter of set and forget the functional side of it has been great so far. Have to admit I still think Mullvad was the better all round experience, but on the flip side that recent scandal is enough for me to stay with IVPN going forward. I get the impression the devs of the app expect a greater level of competence from their users in comparison, which means it's giving you more options, but that's a double edged sword for casual users. The one exception I'd give is their set up for Fedora Atomic is a bit more coherent than how Mullvad laid it out.
r/IVPN · How is IVPN's Linux client? It does the job but the UX feels a bit jankier compared to Mullvad. Some pet peeves of mine include: \- When you have the app minimised in the tray it doesn't open when you click on it for some reason. Bizarrely I had a very similar issue on Graphene where when I try open the app via the VPN dock it will open the Android settings page for the IVPN app rather than just going directly to the app. \- \*EXTREMELY\* nit picky but the close and minimise icons in the top right corner feels very cheap looking. \- The settings are good but it's way more to get your head around. \- No DAITA type solution if that's a deal breaker for you I'll still give credit where credit is due, being able to have it auto connect to the fastest server is good and it let's you choose the aggressiveness of the DNS content blockers. But in all honesty I wouldn't consider myself a power user so found all the choice it gave me more annoying than anything. Also I love how unlike Mullvad they gave some easy to follow documentation for installing on Fedora Atomic. Chances are I'm going to stick with them because of Mullvad's recent bad press but I'm going into it acknowledging that I much preferred Mullvad to IVPN's app. Mullvad felt way easier to use in comparison. IVPN has a lot more pressing stuff on their to do list, but having a UI/UX overhaul would be a meaningful nice to have.

r/IVPN · Should I choose IVPN I switched from Mullvad to IVPN just last month. Give one a try, if you don't like it just switch to the other when your month is up. Personally, I like that IVPN supports OpenVPN (Mullvad dropped that earlier this year). I don't like the reduced exit nodes locations (to reduce YouTube adverts). Aside from that, both should probably do what you need.
r/IVPN · New users I moved from Mullvad on Saturday. A pleasant surprise was that IVPN supports OpenVPN, as Mullvad dropped that a while back & it's quite useful for me. The immediately obvious downside is the choice of exit nodes. Albania was quite handy on Mullvad for YouTube to reduce adverts.

r/IVPN · New users I too have came from a mixture of using Mullvad & Proton. I keep coming back to IVPN and subscribing but with the other providers having more servers and features I do find myself switching back and forth testing each app. I get far greater speeds with Proton and Mullvad and am really hoping for big changes from IVPN with more users signing up, although they do state it's a smaller server list etc so maybe I shouldn't expect too much generally.
r/IVPN · New users For me it's refreshing to sign up and not have to input an email address, this one thing I like about it for sure and that's before accessing the actual product, this is also one of the big plusses using Mullvad. Honestly though because I've come from Proton the app isn't as polished for me and the amount of servers isn't as big. Hopefully a new influx of users can only be a good thing so team IVPN pushes for more improvements.

r/IVPN · Question I use Mullvad, but what I like about IVPN that Mullvad doesn’t have, as far as I know, is their system wide firewall that starts working to protect your system even before it fully boots. Meaning No connection can get through unless it goes through the VPN. That alone would make me go for IVPN. Plus I think IVPN is more Manual than Mullvad. It gives you more customize control than Mullvad does. So whichever one you choose depends on your current needs. Personal but I didn’t like the app design. So I moved again and currently use Ivpn speeds are solid and I get full custom dns controls. I prefer the app design and so far everything seems good. End of the day the best is what works best for you today and tomorrow well this could be a different provider or service. A short comment on the split tunneling: not sure if there is a way without interacting but it is a bit easier as you can click on the task bar icon, select split tunneling and all apps will appear in a selectable list with recently used ones being at the top. So, if you have to often split tunnel an app, it's just two clicks.

r/ProtonVPN · Think about joining Proton VPN Proton VPN is a solid choice, especially if your priority is privacy and you already like the Proton ecosystem. Compared with Nord/Express, it may feel a little less “commercially polished” for streaming or fastest-server convenience, but privacy-wise it is strong: no-logs policy, open-source apps, audits, Secure Core, NetShield, WireGuard, kill switch, and decent apps across platforms. Compared with Mullvad, Proton feels more feature-rich and beginner-friendly, while Mullvad is simpler and more anonymous/account-minimal. Speed depends heavily on your country, ISP, and server choice, so I would test the free plan first or buy only one month before committing long term. My honest take: Proton is worth trying if you care about privacy plus normal daily use, but if your main goal is maximum speed/streaming, Nord or Express may sometimes feel smoother.

r/ProtonVPN · Is ProtonVPN better than Mullvad and/or Surfshark VPN? Yeah, I'd avoid SurfShark and all the rest of what I call "marketing privacy VPNs" as opposed to actual privacy VPNs. At the moment, the leaders in the space of actual privacy VPNs are Mullvad, IVPN, and Proton. Every other "big name" VPN out there is marketing nonsense and not real privacy.
r/ProtonVPN · Is ProtonVPN better than Mullvad and/or Surfshark VPN? I've been using both Mullvad (~5 years) and Proton (~2 years). TL;DR - Proton for torrenting because of port forwarding. Mullvad for privacy. For your needs it sounds like Proton is the way forward. Proton as a company is a little weird and has some red flags for me, and has from their beginning. I use their entire suite of tools (except AI) and they have been getting better. But I'm aware they could turn out to be more marketing than substance. However, that results in some popular features like port forwarding. Mullvad does VPN (and recently a FF based privacy focused browser). They are privacy advocates. They are not piracy advocates. They do not fine-tune their product for these purposes. They do it for privacy. Port forwarding is a good example - they've had it and turned it off due to abuse. Also, clear pricing, better auditing reports, more standard adoption of protocol standards, etc. Speed wise - I find Proton unreliable and fluctuating wildly compared with Mullvad which sometimes has problems as well, but less often.

Proton has handed over IP details of a user of it's email service which has led to successful arrests. They're also caught up in recent lawsuits from Canal+ (an EU Netflix more or less) and are being forced to shape traffic of their users. Proton also doesn't let you start paying for your account in any anonymous form of currency. You can only pay with crypto to *add time to your account, not start your account.* They also ask for an email to register which can be identifying... Mullvad does not.

Mullvad were perfectly fine, it was just convenient to switch. Also ProtonVPN worked for my anywhere in the world whereever i did go, lately in Cuba which connected to either Panama or the US.

r/ProtonVPN · Proton VPN has widespread issues with its port forwarding and P2P functionality Yeah, it was on. I don't think with public torrents DHT off is an option as you said. It's been working pretty well for weeks now and for someone that was coming from Mullvad with basically zero speed fluctuations seeing these drops would have been kinda deal breaker.

r/ProtonVPN · Custom DNS I think mullvad also supports it but not sure. I purchased proton vpn, it’s better than all the other vpn except iVPN. I use proton for virtual servers only. iVPN is still No.1 for me.

r/ProtonVPN · Think about joining Proton VPN I´ve been a happy customer for the last 6+ years. I believe in their vision and their VPN hasn't let me down. Quite a bit of Cloudflare verification tbh but that's about it. It works 99.9% of the time and, just like Mullvad, also accepts cash as a payment if that's what matters to you. Fair to note that if you value privacy immediately start paying cash because due to swiss laws they need to keep payment information (invoices etc.) for 10+ years.

r/ProtonVPN · Following the recent Mullvad VPN drama, I have cancelled my contract with them after a couple of years. Is ProtonVPN a good alternative? This actually makes me want to get a Mullvad sub now, just to support them.

r/IVPN · New to IVPN Last thing because I wish to respect Viktors wishes that we keep things non-political. If you truly believe this, then look at the car that you drive, the food that you eat, the shoes that you wear. The services/apps that you subscribe to and the hobby's you take part in, it all comes from human/animal/environmental suffering one way or another. Making a stand on a VPN providers political donations (because everyone else is and your following a trend if you are completely honest with yourself). I am saying that if you are not from that country, don't know the politics and history but then acting outraged because you "read about it online" without any real world basis, then you are not really thinking for yourself. I only care because it's a shame how easy people are to control by triggering emotional responses. I see it more and more lately and it's being used to control. Stocism and Marcus Aurelius (one of the arguably most loved emporors of Rome) has said repeatedly through his writings that you should not react with emotion to the things you cannot yourself change. It's this reacting which makes you lose your power (objectivity). Trust in what you know, and not what others are telling you to feel.
r/IVPN · New to IVPN This is exactly what I am talking about. You are not thinking for yourself. Your wall of text is ChatGPT (m-dash) use is a great give-away. You also have no idea what they donated for or why (motivation). I am sure like everyone else that has this outrage, you don't live in the country that the donation was made, have nothing to do with their politics and probably have such a minimal understanding of what even occured or why that you are again just acting with outrage with heard mentality. You will be a lot better off when you are able to see these patterns of control as you yourself are acting like a sheep, controlled through group think and emotional manipulation (outrage). Mullvad as is iVPN are both great services. You are being manipulated.
r/IVPN · New to IVPN I don't understand this group think about Mullvad. It's the same thing with celebrity like and dislikes. If the group decides that something is bad, you all follow. I know exactly the reason that people say they are leaving Mullvad (political donations). However, that means literally nothing for how the service runs / safety and quality of their service. In fact, I would not be surprised if the whole thing is a giant psyop to get people to switch off Mullvad and move to weaker services. I think as a very independent minded person, this whole group think around the Mullvad situation without people using their own independent thoughts does quite concern me. Welcome to iVPN.

r/nordvpn · How safe is Nord; it seems very mainstream? NordVPN no log policy has been audited: [https://www.cnet.com/tech/services-and-software/nordvpn-backs-up-its-no-log-claims-with-a-new-audit-from-deloitte/](https://www.cnet.com/tech/services-and-software/nordvpn-backs-up-its-no-log-claims-with-a-new-audit-from-deloitte/) Their apps are 100% unstable bloated trash in my experience in all OSes except Linux cli version. NordVPN's servers via my Wireguard router and 3rd party Wireguard apps however are extremely fast and stable. With any tested Dutch server I reach 95-99% of my ISP speed. With Mullvad only 60-70%. But again: NordVPN's own apps are an embarrassment so bad and unreliable. Using their apps If your country has high piracy fines, be prepared to become (much) poor(er). If you are a dissident in a dictatorship, arrange your funeral. Because their apps incl. killswitch will crash often and you'll be on the net unprotected if using their own apps. Last but not least NordVPN refuses to provide your Wireguard key. Must retrieve yourself via Linux, NordVPN cli and WG tools. Just ridiculous.
