NP, anyway since you're not a troll so if you watch the max and over time you notice the red are dimmer then you can try using an external fan. A user reported that the laser - especially red is affected by thermal throttling which will improve by using extra fan.

I got harassed on AVSF for days for saying that it’s “risky” to back the kickstarter and that the c2 ultra was a safe bet here on reddit. It’s not normal that reddit is the less toxic environment but it certainly is the case when it comes to certain brand discussions.

I got one (at kickstarter price). Really nice projector as it has a great image. At 4k for projectors, it is within the range of a projector la of that price range easily. Though at the kickstarter price, well worth it obviously. Though all projector lose out to TVs, always have and always will besides size. Though even that is changing. That is if you have the space for the size of TV. I don’t have the space for that, I do space for a drop down screen.

As a Valerion Visionmaster Max Kickstarter backer, who has had a Visionmaster Pro 2 loaner for almost 9 months, I have nothing but praise for this projector, and it continues to blow people away when they see it. The Max will be even better, and I cannot wait! For the $2K I got it for, it cannot be beat!

For the price of this projector, you could get the 98" TV and a really really nice projector to travel with if you wanted to. Chances are you don't have your high gain fixed frame screen wherever you're going to, it's not blackout dark(because even with Lazer projectors, the ambient light makes a huge difference) - you're not needing the absolute best projector image and are happy with an average projector that you aren't nervous transporting around. I know personally, when I used a projector, I took it off the mount maybe 3 times ever.

After wb calibration and laser throttling, it more like 1300-2300 lumens depending on iris level. Did you even use the iris? If not, that's just a more expensive pro2.

Dangbei S7 Ultra Max. I have one and it's great. Much brighter than the Max at equivalent contrast.

I can’t say this in an absolute way since I don’t want to sound like I’m marketing, but at least up to now I haven’t really noticed it as an issue. For me it’s been way less of a problem compared to the Pro2. Curious how you’ll feel once your unit arrives.

These software issues are a much big problem than reviewers let them out to be. They keep recommending projectors based on raw stats but if the brightness is pumping constantly, it's hardly usable

I did have a problem with it turning off on its own while watching content. There is a known fault with their older power supplies that causes them to overheat and cut the power. I communicated this with Valerion through their WhatsApp and email and they sent me a new power supply. So far for the last three weeks it has been working fine and not shutting off.

For a large screen and HDR you are going to want as many lumens as you can get. The Valerion is super bright and sharp. The black levels are decent for a DLP projector and the laser light source is incredibly convenient when you’ve lived with bulb based projectors for so long. I have both the Valerion Visionmaster Max and an older JVC RS400. While I still prefer the black levels and the cinematic feel of the JVC image, everything else is just better on the Valerion. I think it has incredible value for the money and it still has 3D. I don’t think you can go wrong with it but I have not seen the other projectors on your list.

Absolutely! That's a 0.6 zoom on a dirty phone camera lens, picture doesn't do the image quality justice honestly.

The rainbows in the 3D mode because it does not allow RBE are horrible compared to every other 3D projector I've owned.

I just bought the valerion vision master max and I super pleased with its image quality, and the 3500 lumens it boasts is incredible! Although I’m not familiar with the epson, I would personally vouch for the valerion, since it is a sister company to awol vision. And it’s google tv OS makes it simple to use with any streaming apps. It can basically plug and play. The colors from this photo don’t do it any justice for its actual vibrant colors in person but just look at the way it’s brightness fill my living room! I have nothing to complain about its performance with dark images either. But which ever you can get the best deal on is what I would most consider. https://preview.redd.it/iu2i4i1szdag1.jpeg?width=5712&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=986ec7fd1fdeb223e760049399718e7bd8860373

I faced a similar decision this Black Friday and ended up going with the Valerion VisionMaster Max. Every review I’ve seen on it seems promising, but the real selling point was that I have a max throw of 12’ and the Valerion came out on top for throw distance for me

That's awesome. Valerion Vision Master Max has a black level feature on their long throw but I was hoping HiSense would come up with something for the L9Q. More and more this is looking like my next projector. I have to do the whole long throw to Ultra Short Throw change to my living room though. Remove the ceiling mount, Run HDMI to the front of the living room instead of the ceiling, etc, etc, etc. It's gonna be quite involved. lol

Importing from Japan is involving Tax stuff, yes. For Germany ot would be 15%. I also wanted to buy a ls12000b and ended up with a Valerion VisionMaster Max shipping in May. Pretty sure I made the better deal.

You could get a used Epson LS12000 although I’m not sure what the used projector market is like in Australia. You could also get the Valerion Visionmaster Max with the additional long throw lens.
