Hisense C2

Hisense C2, packshot

5 1

« From what I've read, the M2 pro struggles the most with providing a quality picture in rooms with ambient lighting. »

« The C2 is significantly better, it's about 60% brighter with greater color volume. »

« Looking at the specs the Hisense is roughly twice as bright as the Jmgo. »

6 4

« The c2 however is triple laser and will have a much wider color gamut and the new c2 ultra hitting the shelves later this year will have dynamic contrast over 2600:1. »

« I just bought the C2 mainly because of its 1440p 120hz, the only thing I wish it had is the “IMax enhanced” feature to eliminate the black bars on movies. »

« So I'd say if you have a very well light controlled room, go for the Hisense. »

Points faibles

0 3

« I have a Hisense C2 base model and the noise is loud at 37 decibels. »

« Hi, gathering from other comments from owners that haven't experienced this sound either it sounds like it's most likely a defect. »

« However, I've never experienced the high pitch coil sounds that you recorded. »

0 2

« I'd have been perpetually disappointed with the sound from a C2, and I suspect I couldn't have filled my screen from where I had to mount it without the zoom lens. »

« In your situation, between only those two, I think the C2 is a better option if the (more limiting) throw distance/fixed lens is compatible with your room. »

« Again - where and how do you want to place the Projector. »

« I'd have been perpetually disappointed with the sound from a C2, and I suspect I couldn't have filled my screen from where I had to mount it without the zoom lens. »

« I think its faulty and will look.to return mine. »

« This sounds like a defect or some electrical interference. »

3 4

« C3 is coming out and maybe the price of the C2 will drop. »

« I'd do the used TK710 under 1000 and put the savings toward getting the ALR screen sooner. »

« True, but for that price from Europe, I'd have to pay at least €100 for shipping to Serbia-sometimes even more-plus 30% in customs and taxes. »

r/projectors · XGIMI Horizon Ultra Recommendation

Im not certain and don't have either. From what I've read, the M2 pro struggles the most with providing a quality picture in rooms with ambient lighting. I believe it's 1300ANSI vs 2000ANSI. My understanding is that the C2 was meant to be in a higher bracket than the M2, but due to the M2 coming out the following year (and projector specs quickly jumping forward recently), it closed the gap more than you'd expect. In your situation, between only those two, I think the C2 is a better option if the (more limiting) throw distance/fixed lens is compatible with your room. Keystone also introduces a lot more issues with all of this (not just input lagL so I'd say you should strongly consider mounting the projector in the correct place to avoid that if it is at all possible.

r/projectors · Hisense C1 for €700, XGIMI ultra for 800 or wait for C2 to go on sale for 900?

All of the following is my opinion based on reviews I've seen and not owning any of the projectors you mentioned. As far as Im aware, the Hisense C line falls between the Xgimi Horizon 20 series and the Xgimi Horizon series (i.e., Horizon 20 series > Hisense C series > Xgimi horizon series). In addition to that, projectors are evolving so quickly recently that each year marks a big jump forward. Having said that, the Hisense C2 is in the newest model from your options and one of Hisense's premium home projector models in this price range. If you can wait for it to go on sale, I'd personally go for that. It's not the projectors youre reviewing specifically, but just as an FYI the comparison from The Hook Up between the C2 Ultra and the Horizon S Max (i.e., the premium versions of the C2 and Horizon Ultra lines) showed the Hisense being significant better. https://youtu.be/ClIboELoz74?si=m8crgcVenSc5SOxD I also found this review incredibly helpful for me to focus on projectors that I'm interested in that would cost less than $1,500 (led me to the Valerion streammaster plus for my price range). https://youtu.be/9QqnfJ0-I_s?si=dF3RBSA-E-Kafonp

r/projectors · XGIMI Horizon Ultra Recommendation

From what I've read the valerion plus/plus 2 are the best in their class and have gotten software updates to help improve them further (including RBE reduction). The Hisense m2pro and Nexigo trivision fall in that same category (just not quite as good). Like I said before, I think the Hisense C2 falls in the Xgimi horizon 20 grouping, but on the lower end of that group and therefore it's comparable to the Valerion. This is all based on what I've read/reviewed. I'm looking to upgrade and will probably be going with a valerion plus 2 as there are quite a few brand new in box valerion projectors available online where I live and the Xgimi is also overpriced here compared to its usual msrp (Canada).

    r/projectors · Hisense C1 vs Hisense C2 vs Epson 5050UB

The 5050ub is as rock solid as a bulb based projector as you can get. It will have higher native contrast and positioning flexibility than either of those c2s. The c2 however is triple laser and will have a much wider color gamut and the new c2 ultra hitting the shelves later this year will have dynamic contrast over 2600:1. All 3 are solid options depending on installation needs, your thoughts on bulb vs laser and price points.

Where do you want to order it? You can basically order online "anywhere" in the EU for more choice and better prices! Again - where and how do you want to place the Projector. Depending on your Placement the Picture might be smaller or will not fit your wall at all!

r/projectors · Best projector for my use case (~€1,200 budget): BenQ TK710 vs Hisense C2 vs BenQ TK705i?

Two numbers cut through this. Size first: at 3-4 m viewing distance the usual \~30 degree field of view guideline lands you around a 100-120" image. Second, brightness while you're still on a white wall. A bare wall reflects less and handles ambient light worse than any screen, so for your first months lumens matter more than color tech. The TK710 is rated 3200 lumens. Hisense's compact triple lasers in that class run 1300-1600 (the C1 from the same family is spec'd 1600). Prettier triple laser color won't survive a lit room at 100+ inches, and that's really the whole decision until the ALR arrives. One placement check for the TK710 (throw ratio 1.15-1.5): a 100" image needs 2.5-3.3 m of throw, 120" needs 3.1-4.0 m. Make sure your mounting spot allows it. I'd do the used TK710 under 1000 and put the savings toward getting the ALR screen sooner. That combo beats either 1200 euro option for movie nights.

    r/projectors · Xgimi Horizon 20 vs Hisense C2 pro

I had the C2, sold it after a few months, contrast didn't feel good and the OS it has was borderline unusable. The Horizon 20 also has good zoom and lens shift in both directions with and has GoogleTV. For some reason there seems to be a "don't use built-in OS" crowd, but the built-in OS works much better on these new SOCs than on external solutions. They have faster chips, more RAM and it's a better experience -> the C2 also has a significantly worse SOC then the Horizon 20, it will feel a lot more sluggish. Especially the Hoirzon 20 is more powerful than even high-end external googleTV sticks/devices. I'd honestly use the built-in OS until they drop software support and get an external solution by then.

r/projectors · Xgimi horizon s max or hisense c2 base model

Depends on your use case and room. If you prioritize image above all, native contrast matters: the darker the viewing room, the darker the black floor will be. Conversely, the lighter the room (i.e. the more you have to contest with ambient light) the more lumens output matters. So I'd say if you have a very well light controlled room, go for the Hisense. But it you're also gonna be doing a lot of living room/daytime/outdoor evening viewing, prioritize the extra brightness. But it's weird, imo the S max should be more expensive than the C2 base. I have a C2 pro and it's epic, aside from the rainbow effect.

Thanks, just seen the side by side and it looks like a huge difference, it seems for my use case the C1 is better as ill be using it on full dark room. wonder what about the C2 (regular) its around 1000e while C1 is close to 1200e. shouldnt the C2 be an upgrade?

r/projectors · XGIMI Horizon Ultra for €1100 worth it?

It's very hard to find unbiased opinions in the projector world. You're probably finding that yourself. From what I gather in independent testing the horizons blacks are a bit of a letdown and this can be a deal-breaker. Have a look at the Hisense C1 or C2 and see if you like the look of them better. I remember them scoring higher for this price range on a video review. I will try and find it now, it had breakdowns of lumens, colours etc.

    r/projectors · JMGO N1S 4K vs Hisense C2

Looking at the specs the Hisense is roughly twice as bright as the Jmgo. I own the jmgo and find the brightness to be a bit lacking, so I connect it to my gaming pc and crank up the brightness a bit in Nvidia control panel to get it bright enough to my liking. I’d imagine I wouldn’t have to do that with the Hisense.

    r/projectors · Hisense C2 – high-pitch coil whine, normal or defective unit?

I have the Hisense C2 Ultra and it's actually the best projector I've ever used. It's great for movies and gaming. The fan is always barely audible. However, I've never experienced the high pitch coil sounds that you recorded. This sounds like a defect or some electrical interference. If support can't help you resolve I strongly recommend you return it. It's an expensive projector that I wouldn't keep if it was making those noises. Hope this helps.

    r/projectors · BenQ HT2060 vs. Epson EF22 vs. Hisense C2

Sorry, but no, finding one with a decent number of HDMI ports is a problem, you can use a switcher, but nothing beats having one device on each port with CEC enabled. (You might think you are only ever going to use a firestick, but you soon want to connect a blu ray player, a games console or two...) I'm afraid to look seriously in case I find something twice as good at half the price I paid! (Plus it will be a couple of years before I can write off the cost of this one.) The problem with most reviews is they only tell you the good stuff, they don't usually use them properly for long enough to be annoyed at the shortcomings. (Add to the pros the wireless remote. I'm so used to these that work anywhere in any orientation that I didn't mention it, but some projectors still use 20th Century infra-red controllers that I guarantee wouldn't work from where I sit without arm flailing and aiming) I did just look at Currys, they have the C2 Ultra at £1999, which is getting to be better value for money. The C2 is £1399. I'm glad I got the Ultra over the C2. I'd have been perpetually disappointed with the sound from a C2, and I suspect I couldn't have filled my screen from where I had to mount it without the zoom lens. The 1080 picture from the C2U is outstanding on my 100" screen, but I suspect I couldn't tell the difference between it and any other bright projector. The "4K" picture is good, but doesn't strike me as any improvement over 1080, and fine static text is worse. The C2U is still about the best entertainment purchase I've ever made though. At least it has saved me buying a 4K blu ray player and stocking up on 4K discs!

Horizon ultra has the best colors out of all three and no laser speckle or rainbow effect. Trivision ultra also has excellent color reproduction and no speckle/rainbow effect. Hisense has laser speckle and rainbow effect. Horizon ultra has the weakest contrast out of all 3 but the colors more than make up for it. Hisense is the brightest. Trivision is the best value for money.

    r/projectors · Hisense C1 vs Hisense C2 vs Epson 5050UB

If you have good flexibility with placement, there’s nothing wrong with the C1. I have it and love it. However, it has no keystone, no optical zoom, no lens shift, and an extremely short throw distance. If none of those things are an issue use for you, then the C1 is awesome. I’ve never seen a C2 in person, but it fixed all of those issues and has a higher lumens brightness. It is permanently attached to a gimbal. Honestly, if my C1 ever goes out, I’m getting the C2 Ultra no questions asked. I can’t tell you much about the Epson other than it’s massively larger than the other ones. I would say that people will give you a lot of information about their experiences online, but they gloss over those little things like fan noise and the amount of heat the projector gives out. There are other things that matter to me like having to auto focus every time or the projector defaulting to it’s internal OS and not the hdmi port. Before I bought the C1 I had a BenQ and I would have to reset the focus each time I powered it up (defective unit I think) and if there was a heater on in the room, the fans would take off like a jet engine. I returned it and got the C1 which was hard to position but had none of those issues.
