Hisense PX3-Pro

Hisense PX3-Pro, packshot

I know this thread is a month old but I got my PX3 today and I don't find it loud at all. Possibly room temp and content show (light output) play a big role in the fan speed. Mine is silent from my seating position.

Are these settings available somewhere? I just got my px3 from you. It looks great OOTB but I'd like to be sure I'm using the most accurate settings (not the brightest, saturated settings for example) for a blacked out theater room.

r/projectors · Thinking about the AWOL LTV-3500 Pro vs Epson LS800 for my living room—any thoughts?

Yes on ALR or Fresnel for daytime watching. I also suggest the Nexigo Aurora Pro MKII. Its unbelievable. Best contrast levels and black levels of all USTs. Rabidly active community that keeps tweaking and improving it. Great customer support putting out firmware updates that keep improving the picture. I predict it will win the UST shootout this year. Otherwise, Hisense PX3 Pro.

r/projectors · Thinking about the AWOL LTV-3500 Pro vs Epson LS800 for my living room—any thoughts?

As an Epson owner I'm potentially biased, but the LTV 3500 is very bright and has absolute ass black level. For bright material it can look good but in dark scenes it's absolutely terrible and also quite expensive. The Epson isn't the greatest at black level but it's pretty decent on 70% power and with dynamic contrast on, it depends on the viewer and what they expect. If rainbow effect isn't a bugaboo for you personally, there's the Nexigo Aurora Pro MKII and the Hisense PX3-Pro which both beat the Epson and AWOL easily, though Epson has some specific advantages - first, the shortest throw on the market so easier to place, and it's 3LCD so it has zero rainbow effect.

    r/projectors · Epson LS800 vs Hisense Px3 Pro

The Fresnel alone will elevate your LS800 a bunch. Though with the Epson, 0.5 gain might be preferable like Epson's own screen, these have a lot of light capacity and need help dropping the black level instead. Still, the Fresnel will no doubt help just by focusing the light towards you. UST's without an ALR screen is kinda silly tbh. Too many people go that way, but an UST + ALR is really the combination that creates the "laser TV" they call them. Anyway, the PX3 Pro should outperform the Epson on everything except brightness; the Epson is very bright on max. Of course I don't run mine on max, I run it at 70% where the fan shuts up properly and that also helps with black level. 3000 lumens is still quite bright, and you can run the Hisense on max without it sounding like a vacuum cleaner. I'd honestly not worry about it, especially not with a fresnel ALR. You have to remake your entire setup due to the longer throw of the Hisense though. It has to come further out in the room, and lower down, to hit the same area you're now using as a screen, so that might be a pain in the ass. For me, I'd have to throw out everything I have furniture-wise under the projector and start over.

r/projectors · Hisense px3-pro vs Epson ls800 and screen type

Nobody should ever use a white screen with any UST projector, full stop. Immense amounts of light just bounce around all over and savage the image quality. Well, I suppose there are some use cases where you accept the massive performance hit - like if you wall mount an LS800 upside down in a school or similar setting and don't give two shits about black level. Not in a home theater. [ALR Screen VS White WALL - Side by Side Comparison in Different Lighting Conditions | Chris Maher, YouTube](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XG1rVFTnkuE) For the LS800 ideally you'd want something like 0.5 gain. Gain pretty much changes the light output linearly across the board. Your brightest scenes become a bit dimmar, but your darkest black becomes darker, and the LS800 can use the help on contrast. It has plenty of firepower, even on 70% power, to work just fine with 0.5, and Epson's own ALR is 0.5. I have that, and the projector looks pretty good with perfectly acceptable blacks and solid brightness on 70% (the fan shuts up a lot at that level, the fan is otherwise a concern.) 3000 lumens is more than plenty for 0.8 gain. Keep in mind ALR will waste vastly less light on spraying it around the room, it focuses it back towards the viewer. I'd be *shocked* if you didn't feel a 0.8 and the PX3-Pro gave you anything but jaw dropping image quality. So yeah, stay the hell away from white screens or uneven walls with UST projectors and buy an ALR. The 0.8 is a passable compromise for both units, but the Epson could benefit from lower. Both will look bloody fantastic either way, there's almost no such thing as a bad UST.

r/projectors · TechRadar review of the Hisense PX3-Pro

Nice. I'd want more nitty gritty and detail, any new UST is bound to look excellent. The question is really *how* excellent. How loud is the fan? Contrast? Black level? Charts? Color gamut (ok, so that's gonna be great with a triple laser but anyway).

Courte focaleHome cinéma (pièce sombre)Source laserSilencieux
    r/projectors · Upgrading from Epson LS300

Most newer UST's have very good to outstanding gaming lag. The $2400 price point is a bit tricky, the LS800 might be reduced there now because it's older (and, well, it's not a bad projector at all, all modern UST's have good image quality). You should be able to find a Nexigo Aurora Pro MKII at under $3000 but perhaps not a lot under. The PX3 Pro perhaps also. In your shoes, I might sit tight with the LS300 until the third quarter and see if Nexigo does a Kickstarter for the MK3, or Hisense the PX4. The Aetherion Max would have been great but I think it's too late to get in on that Kickstarter.

r/projectors · Help. Looking for a UST Projector that just does display

There's no UST that doesn't have speakers and some kind of operating system, I'm afraid. The LS800 does have a game mode that bypasses everything and I use it as just a display that way. It's the easiest to place when it comes to the furniture etc, you get the closest to the wall and closest to the bottom of the screen, but I honestly don't think it's the best projector for all use cases. It's good if you are sensitive to rainbow effect and it's easiest to place as noted. The best for dark room viewing is probably the Nexigo Aurora Pro. The overall best seem to be the new PX3 Pro or the Formovie Theater Premium. There's a Nexigo Aurora Pro Mk 2 in pre-order, pay $50 and you can buy that for $1999... in, I believe, March. That has a solid chance of being the new leader - at least in theory. Either way, they can all be turned on to a HDMI port to display the image, you don't need to use the internal OS to view anything.

r/projectors · Noticed my local shop richer sounds has a £600 price reduction to the epson ls800 b making it £2700 is it still better than px 2pro at £2 k ?

First of all, all USTs should use ALR screens. Full stop. There's really no circumstance where you want to not use an ALR. There are some where you might be forced to not do so - like if you do something unorthodox, like mount them in the ceiling - but that compromises the max quality you can get a *lot*. As for the Epson - I enjoy mine a lot. The two main reasons I got it was the ultra short ultra short throw, at 0.16 throw. Makes it easier to install and place than any other projector on the market (can get closer to the wall and screen than any other). The other reason was that 3LCD literally can't get rainbow effect and my eyes are on the sensitive side. So I played it safe. Downsides being that it's pretty loud on 100% power; however, the salvation there is running it at 70% power where the fans become vastly more quiet. This also gets you better black levels and contrast, so a win win. But those, and the high high brightness that helps if you need to watch in the daytime, are really the only areas where it excels. The PX2 Pro has triple lasers, to begin with, which gives it a wider color gamut. It's not that the Epson lacks color... it just can't do color quite as well. Also, the PX2 Pro has Dolby Vision for HDR. Of course, the triple laser also means you can see laser speckle in addition to RBE. https://www.avsforum.com/threads/hisense-px2-pro.3279410/ So at least on paper the PX2-Pro should give you a better image. However it does seem to have its own potential annoyances. There's also the new PX3-Pro coming out... probably can't get that as cheap. There are also other options on the market like Nexigo Aurora Pro and the Formovie Theater; by all accounts the venerable Formovie is still a better projector than the PX2.

Both the hisense and nexigo are great option. The hisense is brighter for sure and if you need that extra punch, maybe the right one for you. r/projectors · UST projector model and placement advice

The px3-pro is a considerable step up in image quality due to the triple laser engine and the improved contrast, Dolby vision, etc. The ls800 is no slouch though and won’t have laser speckle or rainbow effect. Both have pros and cons; if the px3-pro does fit for you, it would likely be my suggestion. Happy to get into more details, DM me if interested.

    r/projectors · LS800 vs px3-pro in moderately lit room

We blasted the px3-pro up today in a 0.8 gain 150” screen. It was pretty dang bright in a lowly lit room. If you scale that down to 100” and pair with an ALR screen, it will be very ample. We also had it up on a 100” screen with all the overhead lights on and some even thought it was too bright.

I dont know man, I also have the benefit v7050i and I was quite disappointed with the 3d playback and that system. Its not that the 3d quality is bad, its that there is probably a glitch that the 3d glasses doesnt pair well with the projector, resulting in the glasses not completely darkening the entire lens and exposing the green hue from the 3d mode. Im just seeing the green hue during playback on my left and right side, especially in dark backgrounds. Ive contacted BenQ with no resolution to this and unfortunately this projector never received a single update at all which means its in version 1.0. I ended up just recently buying the px3 pro hisense projector and to me it does not have that issue like the v7050i but its not without its own 3d issue also.

the PX3-Pro will have around 18ms of lag for 4k60hz content. It can read 4K120 and output 4K60. for single story games it is epic for the screen size. I have played Call of Duty on this as well and there is no noticable lag to make me anyworse than I am at the game hahaha. It also support ALLM too.

if you have the higher end budget available currently the best bright room UST is the Hisense L9Q. There motion handling is currently the best. You can go all the way up to 200" with this projector so you have a lot of performance room. If you want to save some money the Hisense PX3 Pro is also a great option. Does this budget also include a screen? If you match these projectors with a nice Fresnel UST screen you will have a very watchable image.

Are you playing on a PC or console? I’ve played both pc and ps5 on it and the console has been a much smoother experience than the PC has. I have a 5080 in the pc. Seems like the projector doesn’t like games going above 60fps on pc, higher than that and it’s choppy. Ps5  has been super smooth on it though, no matter the settings.  I imagine Xbox would be good too

Ultra short throws seemed to have gotten better than when I initially looked into them ~5-7 years ago, which is why I took the plunge. But as you noticed, you can shove them right against the wall and it's just like any other device in the room (and you don't have to worry about walking in front of it). The other requirement is that my significant other can also see/play stuff at the same time as me lol. I do typically host get-togethers with my friends and family, where something like this would be used in a group setting, too. I would have probably just settled on another 3D TV, but, well, we know how that is right now :P . If I was trying to do this entirely for myself, though, I would have likely just investigated/bought those types of glasses instead. While I haven't used them at all, they seem to be pretty good from the impressions I've seen around the internet.

Possibly, as I have seen that description and setup when targeting 3D specifically. But I don't have the space for something like that, unfortunately. The ultra short throw is able to occupy the same space as my TV without really compromising anything else. I had requirements that this really had to work with the layout of my living room, and a normal projector setup (let alone having two) wouldn't work in that sort of space.

Do you have this model in addition to the L9G? I'm obviously new to the world of projectors, so I don't really have a frame of reference for anything. I guess, is there anything else you've learned trying to play games on these with 3D, or is it just a case of if it works for me it's probably as good as it'll get? As I don't know if I'm just in a honeymoon phase, and I'm failing to see issues with it lol. Booting up some other games that have more of a stark contrast, [Polybius](https://store.steampowered.com/app/906120/POLYBIUS/) and [Moose Life](https://store.steampowered.com/app/1342740/Moose_Life/), and they appear as clear as I'm used to seeing them. I don't know if I want to say they're dim or anything (as everything looks alright, to me at least), mostly because I'm just playing them on a bumpy wall. They're definitely not as sharp as if I were playing them on my monitor, but it feels on par, if not better than my LG TV. And playing these two, which are more arcade titles, everything felt fine.

r/projectors · Projector really worth it?

I have not seen the rainbow effect on my px3, but I do know some people are more prone to it. But I wonder if it has something to do with settings and mode. For example I'd never use more than 60hz, I don't use or like interpolation. For gaming i use the game mode that has lower latency, etc. This is not to minimize your experience, just that it sounds more out of the norm than the norm. I had the Aura Pro MKII it's supposed to have no rainbow effect. But it wasn't better than my last projector and I didn't like the settings. Before that had the Fengmi T1 and it was amazing except a HDR issue (time mapping was too dark) Proper screen is super important for any UST, so hopefully you tried your PJ with a proper CLR screen. Right so that was an important factor of was concerned with. My living room is about 20x20. I sit about 13' from the screen. I have a corner unit with windows from floor to ceiling about 12' tall. I have both sheer curtains and black out drapes. Currently using the projector with the drapes closed. During mid day there is some light creeping through and also from my kitchen area with just blinds. It's not terrible but I do feel it's could use the extra lumens sometimes. I like the dolby vision I max sort of features on the px3. But that's also source dependant. The px3 does an overall excellent job during daytime viewing. For the extra 1600 $ not sure it's worth it. Btw for the record projector screen. Com are great to work with. I didn't get my projector from them but I did get the screen and the first one had some weird damage going on from what I suspect was an open box but they quickly replaced it with zero hassle. Definitely worth checking these guys out. All for Brian.

My biggest problem is that i don't have a screen yet so i use it on my wall and it's obviously not ideal and I can't really tell how amazing image quality is for now. It crashes from time to time (forced restart) for idk what reason but its quite rare. Other than that (and the noise) i'm happy with it. I come from 55" OLED so the 120" image size is just incredible to me. I watch movies/series and play video games on it (hogwarts legacy and horizon new dawn lately) with a PC through hdmi cable and it's working great. As for sound i have a great 5.0 homecinema with Focal Aria speakers and Denon 3800H AVR so I'm just waiting for the 120" screen to complete the dream setup of mine. I own it. It is pretty loud, french review pretends you can barely hear it but it's actually very easy to hear it. I wish someone would publish a settings guide because there's so many options available that I don't know what to do.

r/projectors · best projector for apartment use?

Hey Bro, for apartment setups the features that actually move the needle are brightness in lumens so you can handle some daytime light, throw distance or short throw capability to fit small rooms without mounting headaches, and proper screen choice over a plain wall. A dedicated ALR screen makes a huge difference in contrast and color even with ambient light. Keystone correction is tempting but mounting the projector square to the wall gives a much cleaner image long term. Some models that work well in tight spaces are the BenQ TH671ST for a budget friendly bright 1080p option, the XGIMI Horizon 20 if you have 8 to 10 feet throw distance, and the Hisense PL2 or PX3-PRO UST if you want a no mount setup right against the wall. For used gear, an old Epson 1080p like the Powerlite HC 8350 or 5050UB can still deliver great results if you find one in good shape. If you want portable ease with decent performance, the XGIMI Mogo 2 Plus or Nebula P1 are solid picks for casual viewing. Just remember brightness and screen quality matter more than 4K specs in most apartments. Do you have a throw distance in mind or are you leaning toward a UST setup?

    r/projectors · Need advice from a Hisense PX3-Pro owner

I’m really excited about my first projector. What I saw in the showroom looked great in terms of quality, definitely good enough for me! With GTA 6 on the way, this seems like it’s going to be awesome. What do you usually play on the Hisense? And what kind of screen do you have? I’m seriously considering getting a 120" ALR screen, I’m just wondering if the image quality drops significantly compared to a 100".

r/projectors · Valerion Pro 2 and understanding screen light bounce/bleed

I have an extra room I'm thinking of converting into a HT in my apt. White ceiling, light/med gray walls, light brown carpet. I'm in kickstarter for Aerherion Max. New to projectors and am worried about speckle. I'm assuming I will see it since I'm aware and will probably look for it. I've read that even px3-pro with CLR can still speckle (rob @ hookup says fresnel speckles slightly more than CLR). I don't want to build and mount a huge 130-150 screen to find speckle and deal with return. Do you think these pure triple laser usts can be paired with a screen with minimal/no speckle? If so what are the best options? I'm not sure if the speckle suppression layer in these new 130-150" ust fresnels has improved speckle over prior gen? Otherwise it seems like I need to wait on Aurora Pro mk3 (brighter although not sure it's needed with the 1.5 gain fresnel). I guess I could risk trying a 130-150 fresnel with AMax and if speckle noticed just ride it out until AP mk3 comes in the fall to compare. Although if that didn't resolve it I'd be up a creek with a screen I can't return and is probably hard to sell. Swapping to a ls650 would possibly be a last resort in that case. Rob still prefers the Aurora mk2 due to speckle (lower with hybrid light source). I also thought of dropping the AMax and getting a VMax/Pro2 and using shadowscape. Would that be lower speckle than AMax + CLR or fresnel? WAB is also on the table. I can paint walls and ceiling if need be (not planned) and put down black rugs (planned) and blackout shades for window. What do you recommend/what would do? The room is 11.5x13x9 ft so the 150 would be a tight fit and up against top of ceiling with ust. I've also considered just buying a 98" tv and sitting close. Much cheaper option. And likely superior image quality (Bravia 5). I'm not sure if that would feel weird or not as immersive even if fov is the same. To muddy the issue, this room is shared wall with neighbors bedroom so I won't be able to crank any volume at night. Possibly just headphones. The audio aspect has me considering just doing a 83" oled on extendable wall mount in living room that doesn't have shared walls with neighbors. I think I'd cause less disruption with a Bravia quad system in there. Thanks for any insights you have! I've seen a bunch of your comments. You seem very knowledgeable and helpful.

    r/Stereo3Dgaming · Hisense PX3-PRO Impressions

L9G is the same thing just brighter. USTs look very bad on bumpy walls so if you’re happy with it, your standards or image quality are probably pretty low so I’m not surprised you liked the 3d effect. In terms of improving, not much you can do. If you play 3d converted games on pc you can play around with depth settings but games with 3d mode built in should behave optimally as it is.  My frame of comparison is theatrical 3d and vr. Home projectors don’t come even close to it. But it’s a fun gimmick. I hope with future dlp improvements we might see better 3d.

Oh, I didn't realize it could be that close and space efficient. That's cool. As an alternative, have you considered XR glasses? Unless you want a bunch of people to watch or play games with you in 3D.

r/projectors · Projector really worth it?

Triple laser projector like the valerion and px3 pro in addition to RBE also produce laser speckle. You can get screens where it will be less apparent to some humans, but you can't never eliminate laser speckle. Is just the nature of how lasers diffuses the light. If you figure out a way on how to fix it then you can probably win a physics Nobel price.. valerion has a so call fix but it doesn't work on all humans and it makes the picture look ugly. Is just the way the single DLP chip works. It you had a triple DLP then there would be no RBE

    r/hometheater · can anything beat the LS11000?

Ive been very happy with my PX3-Pro and 120" screen. I don't have any experience with the traditional Espons or JVC's to compare to. I do have a Sony Bravia 9 and A95L though as well which a lot of people really love for the pq. Those displays are obviously better than the PX3 Pro but it aint too far off. I've had zero issues with my px3pro and the price was right. The jump up to the L9Q for twice the price doesn't seem worth it.

What makes you think ust doesn't have black level the same as long throw? That's a surprising take imo. Yes they all are as good or even better than long throw dlp not name christie. I think you're confusing long throw lcos like jvc for black level though. Fyi the current long throw contrast numbers are now only reaching ust level to hit 3000-4000 contrast ratio due to iris. Ust has already hit that level few years earlier.

r/projectors · Hisense PX3-Pro vs C2 Ultra in suboptimal conditions (initially)

The alr screen for ust and long throw is a different commitment. Also, both are tri laser so you should check your sensitivity to rainbow effect. Imo you should go with alpd ust with alr screen. If you can't get a screen can try using a sheetrock. Or get a ust projector with correct feature like jmgo o2s ultra

So actually I was thinking about UST, the benefit of the projector being up front next to the screen is nice for cable management. I don’t have a UST screen though so I’d have to factor that in as well, and I’m not sure if UST have as good black levels as long throw projectors? Do the ones you recommended have good contrast? I think the Hisense L9Q got super good reviews in a recent UST showdown beating the PX3 a bit?

    r/projectors · Replacing Broken 100" Hisense TV – Feedback on LS800 + 132" ALR Screen Setup?

So, I only watch sports with lights on (or slightly dimmed when feeling fancy) and feel like both the ls800 and px3 pro were about equal with that performance. Honestly i kinda preferred px3 pro in my use. I was really surprised as every source stated ls800 was best for bright rooms. It could also be something specific to my set up- i dont have windows/sunlight- just lights from above. Also spectra floor rising alr screen with 0.7 or 0.6 gain. I never really tried to watch movies or tv shows with lights on.

What did you end up getting? Till yesterday, I was primarily focused on getting the PX3-Pro refurbished, and now I am wondering if its really worth paying 100% more for the 1000 more lumens, my room is super bright during the day time, which was the primary reason set on PX3 pro.

r/projectors · TechRadar review of the Hisense PX3-Pro

Idk. It depends on what you can tolerate. I come from a TV so I was used to complete silence. In addition it would seem PX3 is a little louder than usual. They use 3 dollar fans that rev at 100% no matter what settings are used. This tells me that, at the very least, HiSense doesn't give a fuck about noise. At this stage I got used to it. I've put TV furniture infront of it, and taped some foam noise isolation pads on/around it. This did help a bit. But I still hear it. I'm measuring 39/40 dB without any noise isolation, and about 35/36 with.

Got it!  I’m in the same boat. Massive ALR + PX3 is such an immersive experience. Just that fking noise… I’m playing around with noise isolation pads boxed up around the projector.. it shaves off about 2 decibels..

Any idea what chip size they are using in this? Not the .47" chip still is it??? Otherwise, this one looks like it is a real performer. I gotta say I don't think any of these UST DLP models are garbage. They kind of range from good to quite good. Makes it tough for consumers when so much is good that is out there. I like that it handles up to a 150" size, and the price point is similar to the LS800 which is an obvious competitor.

r/projectors · Looking for ultra short throw with eARC

The Hisense PX3-Pro is really well reviewed, has 3 HDMI connections, with one of them being eARC capable. Not that Atmos matters at all with a sound bar. Like, it's seriously bad. I like Sonos, but it's not a very good surround sound system.

I can imagine that's pretty disappointing especially for such a high end piece of kit. How far are you sitting from it? Mine is to be 11ft (3.3m) away, I wonder if this will help a lot or not
