Look, the XGIMI gets a lot of love because it's got a nice interface and it auto-adjusts everything, which is cool. But for PS5 gaming and some daytime watching? The BenQ just makes more sense. Brighter, lower input lag, short throw (no shadows when you're gaming), and it's 500€ cheaper. The XGIMI is a solid projector. But for what you actually need, I think BenQ is the better call. r/projectors · BenQ TK700 or TK705STi? Based on your use case, the TK710STi seems like the better fit. Most of the usage will be movies and streaming, with gaming being secondary. The newer light source, higher brightness, and updated platform make the TK710STi a more future-proof choice, especially for a first projector. The TK705STi is still a great gaming-focused projector, but it was designed with low input lag as a bigger priority. For someone spending most of their time watching Netflix, movies, and general content, the TK710STi feels like the more balanced option. Given the apartment setup, occasional room-to-room moves, and desire to keep the projector for a while, the newer model would probably be worth the extra cost unless the TK705STi is available at a significantly lower price.

For movies, streaming, and RPGs, 60Hz isn't nearly as big a deal as it is for competitive shooters.

r/projectors · BenQ TK705STi vs BenQ TK710STi for a first projector I would pick the TK705STi because your use case sounds more like a fixed movie setup than a gaming setup the TK710STi being laser and a bit brighter is nice but in a dark room that extra brightness is not the thing that will make the biggest difference Your white wall is probably the bigger limitation right now A decent screen will improve contrast sharpness and overall consistency more than paying extra for the gaming focused model TK705STi already gives you 4K short throw enough brightness for your room and should be totally fine for casual single player gaming too Since you are mainly watching films and 4K Blu rays I would put the saved money toward a proper screen first then maybe audio after that basically TK710STi if placement flexibility and gaming matter more TK705STi if movies in one room are the priority

r/projectors · Home Theater Projector, Dangbei, Nexigo, Valerian, BenQ You are losing a fair bit of quality by simply projecting on a wall unless you put in a lot of time and effort making it into a good screen. Keep that in mind. I think you've done good homework on things already. These models aren't miles apart from one another. The Valerion is probably the way I would go if it fit my space and was within my budget. That or the XGimi Horizon 20. In recent testing, the Horizon 20 Max was praised for image quality, but was considered too expensive for what you get. I tend to agree. At $3,000, I'm looking at the XGimi Titan Max, currently on Kickstarter. But, if I'm buying in that lineup, the standard XGimi Horizon is a incredible value and is plenty bright enough for a 120" diagonal or so, if it fits your room, I'd look hard at it. Not sure what about the BenQ really sets it apart from the competition. It's a good model, and the short throw lens is nice. BenQ has been playing a bit of catch up with XGimi and Valerion in recent years. But, they have been doing it for a long time and they aren't doing stupid things. Models like their X500i are very solid home theater models and the LED light engine eliminates laser speckle. But, it's not bright enough and would leave you asking for more I expect.

LED vs. laser is not a real discussion. Cheap LED systems, like on no-name projectors, are terrible. BenQ uses very high quality LED light systems in their models. So, instead of 200 ISO lumens, you get 3,000. So, it competes well against laser. A question would be whether you want a short throw or a standard throw model. This significantly impacts the screen size. The TK705i and the TK705STi are the same projector, but have different lenses on them, so you will get a drastically different image size from 2.3m lens to wall. (throw distance) Make sure you FULLY understand this tool... The Short Throw version has a fixed .8:1 throw ratio, so no optical zoom at all, which means you are going to be using digital correction over optical correction for the image size. Frankly, for the money, I'd get the XGimi Horizon 20. It has both lens shift and optical zoom which is really nice for making setup way easier. It is a standard throw projector, so image size will be impacted... r/projectors · BenQ TK700 or TK705STi? If the price difference is relatively small, I'd still lean toward the TK705STi. The image quality and gaming performance are very similar, but the short-throw lens gives you a lot more flexibility for setup and future upgrades.

Also it has better input lag for gaming. The Benq brightness is 3,000 lumens and the Epson is 1,000. Epson EF72 isn't a good 4k projector as it has poor sharpness. The youtuber The Hook Up who reviewd it said it's sharpness was worse than a 1080p projector. You should also look at the HiSense C2 Pro or Ultra if you want higher refresh rate for gaming. Also the Benq X3100i is good option for gaming.

I would even say that this is not a fair competition because Epson EF-72's spec is much worse than BenQ TK705STi. BenQ TK705STi is an All-Round projector, everything is ok but faraway from excellent. I think TK705sti is fit to your needs, like movie, portbility, gaming, built-in speaker, Bluetooth ...else. the last one is, TK705stil only has 4k 60hz, you have to turn to 1080p for 120hz. thsi is the only drawback.

Epson has Dust Issues. DLP Projectors like the BenQ VERY rarely - because they have a sealed Lightpath. And often its then a "User Error" because it got "cleaned" with compressed Air. NEVER use compressed Air with a(ny) Projector!
