Hisense C2 Pro

Hisense C2 Pro, packshot

    r/projectors · Viewsonic LX700-4K-RGB - LX700-4K Ultra Review

Salut !

    r/projectors · Choosing a video projector for a semi-lit room

You have to be realistic, that never in your life have you gone to a semi-lit movie theater. That doesn't mean you can't project, but there is a reason theaters are dark, and your image will take a significant hit when you add ambient light. It won't make the projector unusable, but it will definitely remove that cinematic feel. As well, about half of the theater impact is the sound treated room that is painted completely dark. It's a quiet space with excellent audio. Something many people don't want to address with anything more than a speakerbar these days. The models you listed are all solid choices. BenQ thrown in is a good choice as well. At the end of the day, these models are all DLP projectors using the same DLP chip inside of them. They are more similar than different. The worst one would be considered very bright and high resolution from what we had 15 years ago. I personally think that models with optical zoom and a good amount of lens shift are the best purchase as they make setup far easier. So, I lean heavily into the Horizon 20 being a solid choice. If you need more brightness, and can afford it, get the better models. You have to understand throw distance, and learn to use this tool... [https://www.projectorcentral.com/xgimi-horizon\_20-projection-calculator-pro.htm](https://www.projectorcentral.com/xgimi-horizon_20-projection-calculator-pro.htm) You should also spend some time watching videos from a proper review YouTube channel. I like this as one of the best because of the real world comparisons of models put head to head at various price points... [https://www.youtube.com/thehookup](https://www.youtube.com/thehookup) You aren't going to struggle at your price point to find a solid projector that looks good. You will still only get part of the theatrical experience if you don't have great audio. You will probably be shocked at how good the image actually is after dark.

    r/projectors · Hisense C2 Pro for €1400?

I wish I could put out every projector in the world and test them all, but the reality is that I haven't seen everything. I know that Hisense leans towards quality products and the C1 through the C3 are all outstanding. The contrast wouldn't be as strong as what you get from JVC, but it is a very usable lifestyle projector that will look really good in almost any low light environment. I don't think any of the C2 series was bad, and reviews on the Ultra were really strong. I think the C2 Pro is just a step down on brightness, and has downgraded internal audio. This makes the Pro lighter, and easier to move around. If you don't need the added brightness of the Ultra, then then Pro would be a solid choice. What is crazy though is how much other brands are doing right now. The Horizon 20 is better all around than the C2 projectors (except zoom), and at a very affordable price point.

    r/projectors · Hisense C2 Pro for €1400?

With a lot of unknown factors, I would lean towards the Horizon over the C2 Pro pretty easily. Unless I needed the zoom range of the C2, the lens shift of the Horizon is a big deal in ease of setup and proper use. The price is fine on the C2, but we've seen pretty crazy jumps in quality from DLP in the last couple of years. I think the Horizon 20 hits a real sweet spot of quality for the money.

r/projectors · Hisense C2 Pro - RGB panel misalignment, Bluetooth sucks

There are not multiple panels in the C2. It is a single chip DLP projector, so if there are color alignment issues, then it is likely due to a setting internally on the color alignment. A digital fix rather than an actual physical issue. Unfortunately, that's as far as I can tell you. It may need to go to Hisense for them to make this digital alignment correction. Make sure you play with things like gamma settings and don't have the sharpness cranked all the way up as that does introduce digital artifacts.

    r/projectors · Tips for a first time user - Hisense C2 Pro

You have to put the projector at the proper height. It needs to be square to the screen. Centered, left to right, and the center of the lens needs to be centered on the bottom edge of the screen. Projector Central has the proper placement on their calculator page for this model... [https://www.projectorcentral.com/Hisense-C2\_Pro-projection-calculator-pro.htm](https://www.projectorcentral.com/Hisense-C2_Pro-projection-calculator-pro.htm) Any tilt at all will then need keystone correction which will increase the size of the 'grey borders' around the image.

    r/projectors · JMGO N1 Ultra ($1500) vs. Hisense C2 Ultra ($2500)

The c2 ultra is the best “lifestyle” projector that I’ve seen to date. That being said, $1,000 isn’t anything to sneeze at. There will be a less expensive c2 pro coming later this year that may be worth waiting for as well, but it will still be above $1,500.

    r/projectors · Hisense C2 Pro - Thoughts/Reviews?

Newer, more features like vrr, lens shift, google tv and at promo price of $1.2k it's a better value. However, c2 has better zoom and throw ratio - so if you need the 0.9 then it will be c2. If it's about the best then it's xgimi titan and not horizon 20.

r/projectors · Help me decide my first projector: BenQ TK705STi vs. Epson Lifestudio Flex Plus EF-72

The BenQ is brighter and you get a bigger image much closer to the screen. Also it has better input lag for gaming. The Benq brightness is 3,000 lumens and the Epson is 1,000. Epson EF72 isn't a good 4k projector as it has poor sharpness. The youtuber The Hook Up who reviewd it said it's sharpness was worse than a 1080p projector. You should also look at the HiSense C2 Pro or Ultra if you want higher refresh rate for gaming. Also the Benq X3100i is good option for gaming.

r/projectors · So a portable hisense c2 is better than a dedicated projector?

but the hicense is much sharper lens, supports 4k while the other one is 1080p. supports 240hz mode, has pretty decent inbuilt speakers, has inbuilt modern 4k netflix, has a better design (lets you point it at the ceiling, or mount on a tripod). has less fan noise..... has a much longer lifespam (LED vs BULB. 5000hours vs 30,000hours on the hicense). as I SAID, the only thing the benq did better was the brightness

r/projectors · So a portable hisense c2 is better than a dedicated projector?

honestly in a similar boat. I want a gaming projector for lan parties. but the cheap benq 1080p 120hz ones are $600usd which after shipping and conversion ends up being $1000aud (im australian). meanwhile the hicense c2 pro goes on sale for $1200aud and seems better in most ways (except brightness)

    r/projectors · I've just ordered a BenQ W2720i...

I went for the Hisense C2 Pro. First impressions are that you need some setting up to get a good colour accuracy, especially in SDR. HDR content is pretty amazing though, even with the built in picture modes. DV content looks especially beautiful. Cons: - Vidaa OS is meh. Netflix works great but for example Vidaa's Plex app is rubbish, won't play HDR content and there's no transcoding option. - For now at least, the laser luminance setting is grayed out in most picture modes for me, meaning that the projector is way too bright for my needs (80" screen, 3m viewing distance, dimmed living room). - I'm seeing a lot of persistent rainbow effect in subtitles and black-white high contrast content, it hasn't subsided over time for me as some users have noted. Getting a gray screen, hoping it will alleviate the rbe, otherwise probably will have to return/sell it.

r/projectors · Xgimi horizon s max or hisense c2 base model

Depends on your use case and room. If you prioritize image above all, native contrast matters: the darker the viewing room, the darker the black floor will be. Conversely, the lighter the room (i.e. the more you have to contest with ambient light) the more lumens output matters. So I'd say if you have a very well light controlled room, go for the Hisense. But it you're also gonna be doing a lot of living room/daytime/outdoor evening viewing, prioritize the extra brightness. But it's weird, imo the S max should be more expensive than the C2 base. I have a C2 pro and it's epic, aside from the rainbow effect.

    r/projectors · I've just ordered a BenQ W2720i...

Hey To a degree yes, but sadly, in my experience, it doesn't actually go away, I've just learned to live with it. Some settings help a bit, mainly lowering the luminance level of the projector. And I have a Matt gray screen that further reduces it by a margin. Lower brightness and higher ambient light in the room also help, to the obvious detriment of the overall viewing experience of course. I don't even understand why or how this projector has rbe in the first place. Being a Tri laser, it shouldn't have a colour wheel right?

    r/projectors · I've just ordered a BenQ W2720i...

I'll join the people waiting for your feedback on this model! I'm just about ready to get into the projector game. I'm looking for a \~2000€ option for my living room, which will be highly dimmable with the seating around 2.8m (\~9.5ft) from the screen, which will be 84-94''. My research has led me to Hisense C2 Pro being the top choice right now. It's just a bit expensive and doesn't have a great ceiling mount option. I've also considered the LG HU710PW but since I seem to be RBE-sensitive (I just found this out using an old Vivitek DW882ST that I loaned from a friend), it seems to be a no-go. So I'm eager to know how this thing fares. I'm especially interested in the contrast and black levels; what to think of a lack of Dolby Vision; and is the color accuracy out of the box really as good as the German Avitect video suggested. Cheers!

    r/projectors · Hisense C2 non-Pro, XGIMI Horizon Ultra / S Max or ... ?

I have but they seem to be out of my budget. Already the C2 Pro at 2200 is harsh. Also, I might be mistaken but isn't the valerions performance mostly down to the EBL, which is only usable at max brightness, i.e. much too bright for me.

r/projectors · Is there anyone who is undecided between Hisense M2 Pro and C2 Ultra?

Tbh, I have the C2 ultra and don't think the sound is all that great. So also take the C2 pro in your comparison and add something like the Sonos beam perhaps, which also makes it portable in most circumstances and you'll have 10x better sound. I am also considering a N1s 4k and a M2 pro, just as a more travel/trip friendly option besides my C2.

r/projectors · Is there anyone who is undecided between Hisense M2 Pro and C2 Ultra?

Don't really get your reply. The C2 pro is actually a lot cheaper and has more lumen. Looking back, I probably should have gotten the C2 pro myself. If you can't light control your room(s); get the C2 pro or ultra but the ultra isn't worth the extra cost imo. If you can light control your room(s) the M2 is probably ok or even best choice for you

r/projectors · Hisense C2 Pro keeps changing colors

yeah, when the show is running it is stable. But if I play on Kodi, between shows/movie it's changing again. I suspect because in between the fps goes to 0 for an instant and the software resets color then. But that wouldn't explain the behaviour on the other apps.

r/projectors · After recent software Hisense C2 Pro always forgets picture settings

I think I found the main issue: I was watching on Kodi. Normally the menu is at 60 hz. If you play a video it will change the refresh rate to whatever the video has, 24 or 50hz. But in the process it seems that the refresh drops to 0 for a short time, and for some reason this triggers the projector to change the color settings. If I set the menu to 24 hz and then watch something at 24hz it does not happen. But then it will happen again if I watch a PAL DVD. Any way I could let Hisense know about this so they could have a look in detail?

Realized when i turned it off the flickering stopped. Please check if you have this feature enabled. Could make sense, that it is too sensitive for particles or other stuff which are in the projector view. Hope this helps

I have it in my basement with no windows. Walls are a dark blue, but I have a white ceiling (never planned on a projector). I have just about every type of screen you can have somewhere in my house (65” oled, 480hz oled monitor, 85” mini led) and have no complaints with the projector image. The image looks very good to me and the size is amazing. I was ready to buy it for $1,750 and wouldn’t have been disappointed at that price either, but it rang up $1,100 so I got it at a steal.

    r/projectors · Epson 5050ub vs Hisense C2 Pro

I've had the Hisense C2 Pro for a year now. It's incredibly bright, and I love the black levels. It's the best projector I've ever owned. I've had mid-range and high-end projectors before, but for me, the C2 Pro is a beast.

    r/projectors · Hisense C2 base vs M2 Pro

I also have the M2 Pro and it's fantastic. It has more advanced features than the C2, such as optical zoom and AI image/contrast adjustment. It's also super quiet and very portable, so you just grab it by the handle on the base and take it anywhere. It even comes with its own carrying case. Incredible image and brightness. If I were you, I wouldn't hesitate and would go for the M2 Pro. I also have the C2 Pro, and although it surpasses the M2 Pro in brightness and slightly better image quality, it has practically the same top-tier features. Cheers 👋

r/projectors · Hisense c2 pro used or m2 pro new?

I have both projectors and although the M2 pro is an excellent, very nice and portable projector, I would choose the C2 Pro if in doubt. It is the best projector in terms of brightness and image quality. Greetings

I mounted mine to the wall using a wall bracket designed for this model. I got it 98% right, my walls are porous, so the holes didn't end up exactly where I wanted them, but it looks good. The borders are minimal and are hidden by the black edge around my screen. I managed to connected my ULTIMEA surround soundbar via Bluetooth, but not my Sony headphones, which I prefer for watching at night as I live in an apartment. My biggest complaint is the fan noise that it makes when watching HDR and Dolby Vision content. It kicks in after around 15 minutes and is then quite loud. It's quiet with other content.

    r/projectors · Hisense C2 – high-pitch coil whine, normal or defective unit?

Looks I'm not the only one with this problem. However, with my Hisense C2 Pro the fan noise only gets loud with certain content. I watched Back to the Future last night, which is in HDR10 and after 15 minutes the fan goes into overdrive and gets unbearable lout. That lasts 20 minutes to half an hour, then it quietens down again. Very annoying. Is this a general thing?

r/projectors · Hisense C2 Pro - RGB panel misalignment, Bluetooth sucks

Thanks for the explanation. I watched a couple of movies last night and I may just be hypersensitive to RBE with this projector. But it's not just fast movements, it's literally red and blue lines around everything that is high contrast, it's positively psychedelic. It gets worse the further it is out of my eyeline, and non-existent at the centre. Before I had 1080p projectors from BenQ and Optoma known for RBE and never had any problems with them, only occasionally catching it out of the corner of my eye when quickly moving my head. After an hour of watching last night, it got a little better, so I hope to get used to it. Bluetooth not working will still be a problem though, as I watch most films with Sony Bravia headphones which won't connect. Hisense has now agreed to pick it up for repair.

    r/projectors · Hisense C2 Pro

I suppose the advantage of a lifestyle projector is that it's quick and easy to set up, albeit at the expense of resolution. However, if you line it up properly, you can still use it as a home theatre projector. In that regard, it's not that different from many other home theatre projectors. Like you, I have also found it impossible to connect Bluetooth speakers and headphones to my Hisense C2 Pro, which is frustrating.

    r/projectors · Tips for a first time user - Hisense C2 Pro

I did, and the actual picture is in the correct shape when I adjust it, but the white halo/glow of the actual projector is still there and is around the show/movie. Here are some pictures of how it looks mid play, and another pic of the projector's location. [https://imgur.com/a/q7yIcoL](https://imgur.com/a/q7yIcoL) Is it because the projector is a bit tilted down? If that's the case, then in what scenario will it actually be in a normal rectangle shape, only if it sits on the floor? I tried that as well, but even then it was still a bit in a similar trapezoid shaped, just not as bad as it is from that current angle where it is now.

I assume it is because of the location the projector is in: https://imgur.com/a/X6wlqnR? Sketch of the projector's location: [https://imgur.com/a/ZeRYo7S](https://imgur.com/a/ZeRYo7S)

    r/projectors · Valerion - Quality problems

Yeah, I got the C2 pro from crutchfield and have been very happy with it and still in my 60 day trial if I have problems. Was thinking about the ultra, which was out of stock at the time but I don't even run the pro at full brightness typically since the room is light controlled and I get better blacks IMHO.

    r/projectors · Software update V0000.09.01G.P0710 Hisense C2 Pro August 25

Have you used the Plex app after the update? On my C2 Pro, all 4K DV videos freeze literally after a minute of watching, both via cable and Wi-Fi. At the same time, I have a C1 on the same network, and there are no problems there. The Plex version on both devices is the same. https://preview.redd.it/sp8s0je5xltf1.jpeg?width=960&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=360efcf306f567034e27a1b00f0b54c8ab245d26

If comparing the pro 2 to the ultra then imo not worth that much more. But the pro 2 is 100% worth the upgrade from the C2 pro.

    r/projectors · Valerion vs Hisense

The Valerion is excellent. But has 1600 native contrast and you need to rely on EBL for the rest. Not too much a problem if you don’t use subtitles and are ok with some artéfacts but otherwise, the X1 has 5000 native contrast because it has an iris. On top of it they’re developing an EBL. I would rank them like this: Valerion Max > X1 > Pro 2 > C2

    r/projectors · Valerion vs Hisense

If you want a huge screen then the pro 2 is actually a good deal on valerions website right now, you can get a 200” screen for free with the purchase, and a mount + 3d glasses. That said if that deal doesn’t have anything you’d want, I’d get the Hisense. The Valerion is certainly not $1000 better or even close to that. Or like the other commenter said wait until the c3 global version comes out and buy that, or even just get a discounted c2 ultra when the c3 comes out.

r/projectors · XGIMI Horizon Ultra or Hisense C2 (non pro or ultra)?

I own the C2 Ultra, one thing to consider would be the Pro is cheaper but lacks optical zoom. I would figure out the throw distance required on the Pro model and make sure that's a good mounting point for you. C2 Ultra is brighter, so if you're in a darkened room the Pro is likely fine. In a darkened room I run my Ultra at 4/10 laser luminance. Otherwise, I think the Pro would perform the same. I love my Ultra, and a big part of the decision was it handles SDR and all forms of HDR including Dolby. The sharpness and coloring are insane. I use a 150 inch screen. I have not compared to the XGIMI though.

r/projectors · Hisense C2 Ultra Review (Slightly above novice review)

The C2 Pro imo is actually better than the C2 Ultra. It's considerably cheaper and has better black levels (due to being less bright!). The C2 Ultra is only better if you plan on using it mostly during daylight and if you really want an integrated subwoofer. I would recommend an external sound system anyway, so the Subwoofer is kinda unnecessary. Also look into the Benq w2720i, it is much more color accurate than either of these Hisense projectors and it doesn't have Laser frackle, which is much more pleasant to the eyes.

r/projectors · Hisense C2 Ultra Review (Slightly above novice review)

Hey u/Snoo46090 can you please write a few words about your C2PRO? I am seriously considering that projector since it is one of few that can give me huge screen in my room and also it has got lots of brightness to put enough pop in such a big image. But i am not really sure of that would be alright. Did you notice any stutter problems / frames skips / movemenet not being really smooth with 24FPS movies?

    r/projectors · Hisense C2 Ultra Review

Wow! That is interesting. Depending on the medium, I sometimes see a small amount of light bleed around my screen, but nothing like what you see. Mine fixed the screen automatically when I set it up. The only thing I can come up with would be to redo your initial setup and/or move your projector closer to the screen.

    r/projectors · Hisense C2 Ultra Review

Hi, your setup looks awesome! I just got the Hisense C2 Pro, but I have this big rectangular 'halo' around my screen, and I don’t know why. I thought it was because my projector was too far from the screen, but after seeing your setup, I’m not so sure anymore. My projector is about 5m away, and my screen is 110 inches. Here’s the result—do you have any idea what could be causing this? Thank you so much in advance if you take the time to reply! You seem to know way more about projectors than I do! At first, it was massive, but after adjusting the zoom, I made it a bit smaller. It still looks weird to me, though.

I was fixated on Epson LS11000 until a friend suggested C1 at Costco. My research found that C2 Pro is $ 500 more but comes with better features. Priced much less than Epson as well.

I read that it was also excellent and that the blacks were sometimes better than the Ultra. The C2 Pro is a little less bright and does not have a subwoofer in its base but is €500 less. So I bought the Pro and will receive it in a few days, I can't wait 🤗

    r/projectors · Hisense C1 vs Hisense C2 vs Epson 5050UB

Shopping around myself, I think practically the throw ratio heavily favors Hisense for smaller rooms <12 ft but if you can go 15+ ft the epson may work. Definitely check the screen calculators for what works for your setup. Then there’s no ARC support on Epson so you’ll want an audio receiver. There are also remote and OS differences. Personally I mostly use with PS5 and Apple TV at around 10ft trying to get 135 inches so leaning towards C2 Pro.

Between the two, I'd personally prefer the Valerion. Just like you said, the image quality is noticeably better. That said, if you're looking in the same price class, you might can check out the Nebula X1. Its black levels are right up there with the Valerion and the C2 but no expensive as the Valerion
