NearbyNegotiation118r/projectors · Help me decide my first projector: BenQ TK705STi vs. Epson Lifestudio Flex Plus EF-72 →2026-05-27T13:37:02
The BenQ is brighter and you get a bigger image much closer to the screen. Also it has better input lag for gaming. The Benq brightness is 3,000 lumens and the Epson is 1,000. Epson EF72 isn't a good 4k projector as it has poor sharpness. The youtuber The Hook Up who reviewd it said it's sharpness was worse than a 1080p projector. You should also look at the HiSense C2 Pro or Ultra if you want higher refresh rate for gaming. Also the Benq X3100i is good option for gaming.

If gaming was your #1 use case, i'm not sure i'd pick up this puppy. BenQ X3100i is often cited as the "best overall" gaming projector, and you're going to save $5k. The BenQ has good brightness vs great brightness on the Epson, but for $5k? Now, if movies if your top use case, there is a bigger argument at play.

AV_Integratedr/projectors · Need help deciding between Benq x500i and x300g →2024-09-17T03:02:55
People often say that laser or LED DLP projectors can't have RBE because they are flat out uninformed. It's that simple. Single chip DLP projectors have RBE due to the sequential presentation of colors. Red, green, then blue. So, they can have RBE whether LED, laser, or a traditional lamp. It doesn't matter. Only 3-chip DLP projectors won't have any RBE issues in the world of DLP. This is what movie theaters typically are using. Anyway, I would either get the X500i or the TK710. That's where my feelings lie with BenQ at the moment. I do think the X3100i should be a consideration, but not if you are fine with the x500i.

it does 2160p as 4k and HDR for color coding, dont know if dolby vision might look better on blacks (C1 ad horizon ultra), but this one built to be bright and i think it effects the black level as it might be too bright for black, but i would say 90% black

I strongly suspect the x3100i should hold that title.

AV_Integratedr/projectors · MEILLEUR VIDEO PROJECTEUR 4K EN 2023 --> XGIMI HORIZON PRO suffisant ? →2023-10-31T21:08:52
For gaming, none support 1080p/120hz that I am aware of. That is more a function of the newer 4K models designed by BenQ with gaming specific functionality. The X3100i would be something that supports this. The TK700 or the TK700STi models. The HT4550i. Things start getting expensive, and you start losing placement flexibility. As well, if you're gaming, you cannot use keystone correction or digital zoom without taking a massive hit to input lag.

AV_Integratedr/projectors · 4k projector for living room, movies and gaming →2023-10-18T16:38:45
The X3100i is certainly a heck of a product and worth consideration. The LED light source should be really solid for overall performance, and input lag on these models is pretty close to unbeatable. The TK700 and the other cheaper BenQ models are all pretty good as well, but they don't have the LED light engine. So, it comes down to budget for many. Not sure how many hours you actually put on your Acer, but I've seen a number of BenQ owners who put up numbers beyond 15,000 hours of use on their lamp-based models who were still using them regularly. Not just daily use, but HEAVY daily use! So, it speaks a lot to their recent reliability. I especially like that they are using the larger 4K .66" (?) chip in these models instead of the .47" chip, which should improve overall heat dissipation and reliability for long term use. If you don't have RBE issues, which it doesn't sound like you do. Then I'd stick with DLP with where you're at. I feel that BenQ also delivers a bit more reliability and quality over Acer and Viewsonic if you're looking for a long term solution.

I myself own a benq x3100i and I use it basically the same way you want to. Can absolutely recommend it. The picture is bright enough for daylight use, the picture quality and colors are great out of the box and gaming works like a charm! I'm very happy with it.

Hello, I got the x3100i. I am happy with it. I never got to compare side by side so I don’t know if the 710sti is better. I use it in a room that has lots of light leaks, I paired it with an AGS 128” screen from silver ticket. It works really nice.

Yes,still "overkill". The right Screen is more important if you want to use it with "Ambient Light"!

Popular-Two5456r/projectors · Hisense C1 vs XGIMI Horizon Ultra, and Benq X3100i →2024-05-10T14:40:29
i set brightness at about 43 to 48 , normal 50, increase contrast to about 58, and like it. you can use gmut which i set about 24 to 26, cuts brightness too, and if you need more you can use wcg filter which goes darker. But in dark room movies where i was missing details i turn on detail adjustment to low and you realize that the filming was done under bright lights but darkened later, lots of options. x3100i said to be less noisy which i measure 39 db at 4 feet, 48 to 50 db around projector, mine hanging upside down which might make fan little noise but not bothering

For a projector with a chip inside of it that is likely to last 7+ years vs. one that seems to fail at 3-4 years? YEP! I would pay that difference in a half a second.

For transparency the BenQ X3100i which is the latest update does support 1440p 120hz - I don't even think the LX700-4k is avail in the US yet too.

Whatsintheboooooxr/projectors · Buying Guidance Appreciated: Hisense C1 vs. BenQ TK860i vs BenQ W2710i →2024-04-09T07:42:33
You don’t seem to understand the physics behind the points that you’re making, as well as why they designed the TK line the way they did. The TK860i is the same projector as the HT3560 but with different color wheels. Why don’t think the HT model goes up in lumen output in HDR while the TK model goes down? Hint, it’s the color wheel and mapping. The HT can’t use the white portion because it doesn’t have one. That’s why in low light conditions the TK has worse color accuracy because the white portion of the wheel impedes it from the wider color gamut. Design for purpose, it’s what BenQ understands and you apparently don’t. Lumens output, and claimed max lumens of a projector don’t mean anything. As for the x3100i, it doesn’t have a color wheel it’s a completely different class of projector made for a completely different target consumer. It also costs twice as much. The Acer is a bargain basement projector that doesn’t get any of the specs it claims in any read world scenario. Doesn’t have vertical lens shift or optical zoom. Extremely poor contrast and I’m guessing color accuracy is nothing close to the BenQ projectors you’re talking about. Different target consumer. If you are building a 150” screen theatre in your home I doubt your budget for a projector is $1000-$1500, at least it shouldn’t be.

based on what i've seen if some manufacturer claim 150, it is 100 in reality if 300" like c2 , you can try 150 after that said, on the paper **BenQ X3100i can project up to 150-inches**
