r/projectors · XGIMI Horizon Ultra vs S Pro (vs. JMGO N1S 4K) JMGO just launched their updated version of the N1S 4K in Asia. It's mostly a 50% lumens boost and an extra hdmi slot for more or less the same price. I'd wait a bit if you want to go for the N1S, but the release in the west is not certain as of yet. I have an Jmgo N1S 4K and it's fine with gaming. It has a low latency mode that's fine for casual, and then there's a gaming mode which will cancel all zoom/4p corrections (like in 3D mode).
r/projectors · jmgo projector N3 4K has like 50% extra lumens compared to the older N1S 4K that I own. Also has an extra HDMI and an optical zoom. That zoom could be handy if you move from outdoors to bedroom. N1S ultimate has a lot more lumens. N1S 4K can possibly be at a huge discount too.... Tough choices :) I think it really depends on your OUTDOOR situation. What are you watching and how much ambient light are we talking about?

I still feel higher lumens will help to make it more watchable in a well lit room (currently even in a dimmed basement, the image looks barely watchable). Since your budget is $1000, go for the N1S Pro 4K which is currently at \~$990. It has 30% extra lumens than the N1S 4K (2200 on the N1S Pro vs 1700 on the N1S)

r/projectors · JMGO N3 4K vs XGIMI Horizon 20 Base: Which one should I keep for a 150" dark basement setup? I'm currently using their N1S 4K and honestly, it's been a really good experience for me. The picture is sharp, and the fan noise is barely noticeable in my setup. After using it for a while, I've been pretty happy with how JMGO has performed. The N3 4K is a step up from the N1S 4K with extra features like optical zoom, so I'd imagine it's a pretty capable option too. That said, every projector has its own trade-offs. Tbh, if you have the chance, just compare your N3 4k with your friend’s Horizon 20 in the same room and see which one you actually prefer.

r/JMGO_official · JMGO N3 Ultimate vs JmGO N5 Ultra Max Wow an actual Human sounding response. It's insane how much better I've seen JMGO support be compared to the Fiasco that is XGIMI right now . I regret not getting the N3 Ultimate. I had gotten a Horizon 20 Pro and it's been nothing but issues with firmware updates and broken features . I got an N1S 4K for a steal with a discount code and it brought the outdoor screen and stand . It blew me away at how easy it was to setup (even without optical zoom) and it had less speckle and rainbow effect compared to the much more expensive Horizon 20 Pro . My wife and I are legitimately looking to get an N3 Ultimate now and we're probably gonna do some reviews now. Seeing how much better you guys respond has pretty much sealed the deal for us . XGIMI even sent me a Vibe One for my troubles and it got put away because the N1S 4K just does a much better job .

r/projectors · XGIMI Horizon Ultra vs S Pro (vs. JMGO N1S 4K) I have the JMGO N1S 4K, it is perfectly fine for gaming, you can do 1080p 120fps or 4K 60. It has a low latency mode as mentioned, totally playable and I'm quite picky! If enabling the full gaming mode you lose your keystone and other stuff as mentioned so you'd have to have your projector perfectly placed to use that. I watch 3D Blu-rays using an external Zidoo device and it plays them perfectly, only thing is that with 3D glasses on the projector lacks a bit of brightness, maybe something to consider. I will probably upgrade in the next two years because of this. I would say the interface/OS can be a bit slow at times, especially after just starting the projector. I got a basic tab-tensioned screen (manual pull down) from Elitescreens, think it was about 200 euro/200 dollars for 100", I think it has been great and I have it in a bog standard living room so not even ideal setup. I have it screwed in above and across a window bay.

The Pro is still brighter and has a few extra features, but it’s also noticeably larger. The regular N1S 4K is really small and much more portable, which is a big part of the appeal for me. Now that the prices are closer it makes the comparison more interesting. If I get the chance to test them together I’ll post it.

The optical zoom and full 360° rotation on the M2 Pro are genuinely useful, especially for permanent or high mounted setups. Dolby Vision is nice too. The N1S 4K’s strengths are more on the portable side, smaller size, very fast autofocus and keystone, Google TV, and that eye protection feature. For moving it between rooms or travel it does feel easier. Appreciate the detailed thoughts. Always interesting hearing from people who’ve lived with both types of projectors.

Yeah, the jump from 1100 to 1700 ISO makes a real difference, especially with some ambient light. On the boxes from what I’ve seen, they don’t clearly call out 1100 vs 1700 ISO on the outside. It’s hard to tell specially when you buy it 2nd hand unless they tell you. The easiest ways to tell them apart after you open it are the brightness itself and the DLP version number in the system info (original is 6.0.6, refreshed is 2.6.3). A friend has the Hisense M2 Pro and we use it occasionally. Might do a side by side comparison with the refreshed N1S 4K sometime in the future. Also I have the Xgimi Elfin plus 4K coming soon for another comparison. I’m excited for its optical zoom which the JMGO doesn’t have.

r/JMGO_official · JMGO N3 Ultimate: Original Dust Issue → Replacement with Red Flags (Unsealed Brick + Dust) The JMGO customer service team is very responsive and has been great to work with, they’ll take care of your concern. I totally get it, these are big ticket purchases, so any issue can make you nervous. So far I’ve had no complaints with their support. My only real concern has been the replacement unit. I just need an assurance from them that it is a brand new and factory sealed one. This is actually my 3rd JMGO projector, and I plan to keep both it and my very portable N1S 4K. I had the N1S Ultra but returned it to make the upgrade with N3 Ultimate which is phenomenal. The C5 Master is a great machine as well, it was definitely on my radar but very pricey. I’m also a backer of the XGIMI Titan Noir Max, but overall I’m still really happy with JMGO and their products.

Yeah, that's one of the things that I like (and find very handy to have) with the Hisense M2 Pro. Also, the Hisense's built-in stand allows full 360 degree rotation along the vertical axis; I have mine on a wall bracket high up and the M2 Pro swiveled over 180+ degrees; the N1S 4K would require ceiling mounting (or plopping on its head). Dolby Vision on the M2 Pro is also nice. Still, I do see advantages aside from price with the N1S 4K. I have an Apple TV hooked up to my M2 Pro; the Hisense VIDAA OS/store is not something I'd want to have to use. Google TV, OTOH, I could live with. The N1S 4K also seems more travel or room-juggling friendly: smaller size, *much* faster auto-focus and keystoning (I know, we all hate this, but if you're not permanently mounting I think it's a plus to have fluid support here), as well as an eye protection feature that actually works in a reasonable way. (And I love that you posted your detailed thoughts and video of the refreshed vs. original N1S 4K!)

I don't have an N1S 4K myself, but was seriously kicking the tires on it last year. Ended up going for the Hisense M2 Pro instead; love it but the typical sales pricing on the N1S 4K is of course very appealing, along with the frequent option to bundle a screen, stand or pair of 3D glasses for free. Only reason I selected the Hisense when I finally pulled the trigger is because it was offered by Amazon with an interest-free payment plan, which helped both ease the pain and accelerated my acquisition timeline. There are some things I really like about the M2 Pro that the N1S 4K doesn't offer, but then there are things that the N1S 4K offers that I wish the M2 Pro did. And at their respective prices, I do feel like the JMGO is the obvious choice between the two. Do the product boxes say 1100 ISO vs. 1700 ISO lumens on them, to easily identify one from the other?

r/projectors · JMGO N1S ultra vs XGMI Horizon 20 - which one to choose I think JMGO was one of the earlier brands to really focus on the gimbal-style design. I'm using the N1S 4K, and the combination of the gimbal and auto keystone correction has honestly made setup much easier for me. I move it between different rooms quite often, so being able to quickly adjust the image without spending a lot of time tweaking things is a big deal. And for me, placement flexibility matters. I keep the N1S 4K on a shelf next to my bed when I use it in the bedroom, and it's quiet enough that I barely notice it running.

r/projectors · Projector Search: Xgimi, Jmgo, Hisense, my head is going to explode! to be fair, they all kinda say that with the lumens, it's just their literal highest output the jmgo n1s 4k claims 1100 lumens but actual usable/watchable is 708, and the newest jmgo n3 claims 1800, the hisense m2 pro claims 1300 and is actually 902 [from "The Hook Up" the base horizon 20 model was measured at 3150 at its brightest/green tinted mode and it's "usable" lumens in an actual watchable mode was 2373](https://youtu.be/9QqnfJ0-I_s?si=jqFaQUsXgMHs7SOd) which is way brighter than any jmgo in that price range other ones to look into are probably refurbished benq tk710/x3100i

USTs are often much more expensive but if you take the Formovie Edge you have around 3000:1 for around 1500€. That's a pretty good deal. What kind of screen are you using? A white one? With a 120 inch white screen (gain 1) you should have around 1200 real lumens to be able to watch HDR in good conditions. That would more around 1800 lumens for a 0.65 gain. Your current JMGO is not bright enough to cope with big screen like this. With the Horizon 20, you would have enough brightness with a white screen, you would fall a bit short of light with an ALR screen.

You say that the contrats is not the best, which one on the same price range would you recommend ? Is it still one of the best one or would you compare it to other ones (same type, not UST) ? I tried the JMGO N1S 4K and it is a good projector but a bit too dim on a 120" screen with HDR content + I have some lag/stutter in the menus and while watching content so I'm not totally satisfied and I am looking to spend a bit more to have the a flawless experience... Would you recommend the Horizon 20 (base model) ?

r/projectors · N1s 4K ou xgimi horizon ultra For a living room with some ambient light, both projectors should work fine for movies and gaming. Personally, I’d lean a bit toward the N1S 4K—it’s got solid brightness and colors, and the feedback from other users has been really good. The XGIMI Horizon Ultra runs Android TV system, while most of the newer smart projectors are on Google TV, which tends to feel smoother. Kinda like buying a phone—you usually go for the newer model 😄 But honestly, either could work depending on what you care about most.

r/projectors · Sensitive to rainbow effect — JMGO N1S 4K gave me headaches, need advice (budget €2000, off-center setup) That’s no rainbow effect you’re talking about since a rgb laser projector doesn’t have color wheel. What you mentioned (I have the same issue but is doesn’t bother me that much) is due to saccadic eye movement the RGB color appear next to each other. The only thing that improves this issue is lowering the contrast

r/projectors · Lightweight alternative to Hisense C2 ultra For what it's worth, I have both the N1sk and the M2 Pro. I'm not cognizant of the laser speckle, so it's a non-issue, but here's how the M2 Pro fares in relation to the JMGO from my perspective: \- Seems a little brighter AND sharper (see the Hookup's latest youtube project review for why the latter might be. happening) \- Even though the M2 allegedly has better colors, I haven't been able to dial it in yet. The reds are just too robust for me (like neon on fire) \- The interface on the M2 is much more responsive, which is a huge quality of life factor for me (the N1sk is fine, but there often is a very noticeable lag from one I push to select something and when it actually happens, to the point that I'll often go past what I was aiming for because I pushed the input too many times as it lagged) \- The M2 definitely is bigger (and uglier), but it's not enormous in relation to the N1sk; however, functionally they feel pretty similar with a like-minded form-factor and gimbal setup \- The M2 is MUCH louder; I don't know if the sound is better (yet), but I actually had to turn on closed captions with the N1sk if there was ambient noise in the backyard, and that's not an issue for the M2 Pro) I'm not seeing a huge difference in contrast, but in a side-by-side I bet the JMGO is a little better

r/projectors · Advice on Choosing a New Projector (~1000€ Budget)- Formovie X5 - Hisense C1 - Hisense M2 pro - From the 1st 3 choices I’d go with m2 pro. Has optical zoom, better processor, much faster, brighter, Dolby vision. N1s4k gets very laggy when watching hdr content. From the bottom 3, x1 is brightness, it is not triple laser like C1 or M2 pro. If you need optical zoom than m2 pro is only choice. Overall C1 might be overall best package. If I was buying I’d probably pick m2 pro due to optical zoom needed for my use, better for gaming compared to c1 and being most recent projector from Hisense so probably longer support.

Most of the projectors in 2000 to 3500 ansi lumens are very similar in size and weight. If you truly want something compact an under 6lb you will have take lower brightness and not suitable for brighter rooms
