r/projectors · What to choise, advise needed Honestly? I'd go BenQ and not think twice. Look, the XGIMI gets a lot of love because it's got a nice interface and it auto-adjusts everything, which is cool. But for PS5 gaming and some daytime watching? The BenQ just makes more sense. Brighter, lower input lag, short throw (no shadows when you're gaming), and it's 500€ cheaper. The XGIMI is a solid projector. But for what you actually need, I think BenQ is the better call. If you're curious what else is out there around this budget, I [put together a comparison here](https://medium.com/@dejan-k/projector-vs-100-inch-tv-2026-d0b6e18c3c14), might help you see all the options. Either way, hope you enjoy whatever you pick!

r/projectors · Home Theater Projector, Dangbei, Nexigo, Valerian, BenQ For your room size, I’d honestly lean toward either the TK705STi or NexiGo. The BenQ makes way more sense for smaller spaces because of the short throw, but the NexiGo seems to get a lot of praise lately for movies and HDR performance.
r/budgetprojectors · U.S. - What do you guys think? It's about 1.5\~1.7 m from the wall. That's one of the things I really like about the TK705STi, you can get a pretty big image without needing a lot of room.
r/projectors · BenQ TK705i Projector My early impressions I've been using the TK705STi, and that matches my experience pretty well. The black levels are good rather than class-leading, but the brightness and color performance have been excellent. For me, it's been a really well-balanced projector overall.
r/projectors · First projector setup: BenQ TK705i vs TK700, and what 120-inch screen should I buy? I have the TK705STi, and it's been great for movie nights. Between the two, the TK705i seems like the better fit for your setup. Since your room can get very dark and movies are your main priority, the extra features make it worth considering. For the screen, a decent matte white screen would be my choice over a very cheap ALR screen. In a light-controlled room, it usually delivers a more natural and consistent image.
r/projectors · BenQ TK705STi vs BenQ TK710STi for a first projector The TK705STi would be my pick. I've been using one myself, and it's been great for movies. Here are a few real photos from my setup if you're curious what it looks like in actual use. https://preview.redd.it/3vl0pw1lswbh1.jpeg?width=1477&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=edcf3fcf30851f7d5cddd6440bbd090c42090310
r/projectors · BenQ TK700 or TK705STi? Based on your use case, the TK710STi seems like the better fit. Most of the usage will be movies and streaming, with gaming being secondary. The newer light source, higher brightness, and updated platform make the TK710STi a more future-proof choice, especially for a first projector. The TK705STi is still a great gaming-focused projector, but it was designed with low input lag as a bigger priority. For someone spending most of their time watching Netflix, movies, and general content, the TK710STi feels like the more balanced option. Given the apartment setup, occasional room-to-room moves, and desire to keep the projector for a while, the newer model would probably be worth the extra cost unless the TK705STi is available at a significantly lower price.
r/projectors · BenQ TK700 or TK705STi? Happy to help! Hope you enjoy whichever one you end up with. Both are capable projectors, so it's hard to make a bad choice here.
r/projectors · Help me decide my first projector: BenQ TK705STi vs. Epson Lifestudio Flex Plus EF-72 Based on your use case, I'd lean toward the TK705STi. The Epson is probably the more lifestyle-friendly option, but if gaming is your second main use, the BenQ's lower input lag and higher brightness would be hard to ignore. For movies, streaming, and RPGs, 60Hz isn't nearly as big a deal as it is for competitive shooters.

r/projectors · What to choise, advise needed I prefer both options, but for simplicity, the BenQ TK705STi would provide you with more flexibility, especially if you desire a larger image size.
r/projectors · BenQ TK705i 4K 4LED Projector Review Anytime you use keystone, more input lag is introduced. For game mode this option is disabled. I would recommend the TK705STi if you need a closer throw to your screen area.
r/projectors · Help me decide my first projector: BenQ TK705STi vs. Epson Lifestudio Flex Plus EF-72 The BenQ uses a 4LED light source which is much easier on the eyes.
r/projectors · What to choise, advise needed Well we also need to factor in ALR screen as well. Since I don’t own an ALR screen, I usually keep my blinds closed to accommodate the white screen I’m using. Both of them look fine. Room treatment comes first over the projector tbh.
r/projectors · BenQ TK705STI vs TK710STI Input is fine on this projector. It also has a game mode as well.
r/projectors · BenQ TK705STI vs TK710STI Well with MEMC it plays slower frame rate video just fine. I usually keep it on medium or off depending on what I’m watching. It doesn’t bother me. I tested panning 24p with it off and I’d advise enabling it. But this is of course depends on the content. I think that having a dedicated 24p mode would be an advantage especially if the projector can detect this automatically.
r/projectors · BenQ TK705STI vs TK710STI Hi op, so I have a TK705STi and it’s great! You can easily achieve a 150” image at around 8ft with this model. https://preview.redd.it/4m4ouejhmvrg1.jpeg?width=5712&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=249b4e1ff3c13591de96e262d64a52fbdc20ca4d In this example, I have the projector placed on a tripod, beaming onto a white brick wall. TK710STI will have a little bit of optical zoom available. The laser light source in the TK710STI and the optical zoom (if needed) would be the primary advantages. Larger DMD chip size as well.

r/projectors · BenQ TK705STi vs BenQ TK710STi for a first projector get the TK705STi and spend the difference on a decent screen
r/projectors · BenQ TK705STi vs BenQ TK710STi for a first projector I would pick the TK705STi because your use case sounds more like a fixed movie setup than a gaming setup the TK710STi being laser and a bit brighter is nice but in a dark room that extra brightness is not the thing that will make the biggest difference Your white wall is probably the bigger limitation right now A decent screen will improve contrast sharpness and overall consistency more than paying extra for the gaming focused model TK705STi already gives you 4K short throw enough brightness for your room and should be totally fine for casual single player gaming too Since you are mainly watching films and 4K Blu rays I would put the saved money toward a proper screen first then maybe audio after that basically TK710STi if placement flexibility and gaming matter more TK705STi if movies in one room are the priority

r/projectors · Home Theater Projector, Dangbei, Nexigo, Valerian, BenQ You are losing a fair bit of quality by simply projecting on a wall unless you put in a lot of time and effort making it into a good screen. Keep that in mind. I think you've done good homework on things already. These models aren't miles apart from one another. The Valerion is probably the way I would go if it fit my space and was within my budget. That or the XGimi Horizon 20. In recent testing, the Horizon 20 Max was praised for image quality, but was considered too expensive for what you get. I tend to agree. At $3,000, I'm looking at the XGimi Titan Max, currently on Kickstarter. But, if I'm buying in that lineup, the standard XGimi Horizon is a incredible value and is plenty bright enough for a 120" diagonal or so, if it fits your room, I'd look hard at it. Not sure what about the BenQ really sets it apart from the competition. It's a good model, and the short throw lens is nice. BenQ has been playing a bit of catch up with XGimi and Valerion in recent years. But, they have been doing it for a long time and they aren't doing stupid things. Models like their X500i are very solid home theater models and the LED light engine eliminates laser speckle. But, it's not bright enough and would leave you asking for more I expect.
r/projectors · BenQ TK705STi vs BenQ TK710STi for a first projector The LED light engine is less likely to cause sparkle and other issues compared to the laser light system. LED vs. laser is not a real discussion. Cheap LED systems, like on no-name projectors, are terrible. BenQ uses very high quality LED light systems in their models. So, instead of 200 ISO lumens, you get 3,000. So, it competes well against laser. A question would be whether you want a short throw or a standard throw model. This significantly impacts the screen size. The TK705i and the TK705STi are the same projector, but have different lenses on them, so you will get a drastically different image size from 2.3m lens to wall. (throw distance) Make sure you FULLY understand this tool... [https://www.projectorcentral.com/benq-tk705i-projection-calculator-pro.htm](https://www.projectorcentral.com/benq-tk705i-projection-calculator-pro.htm) and [https://www.projectorcentral.com/benq-tk705sti-projection-calculator-pro.htm](https://www.projectorcentral.com/benq-tk705sti-projection-calculator-pro.htm) The throw of the TK705i (standard throw) will give you about a 90"-100" diagonal on the opposite wall. From the same throw distance, the TK705STi (short throw) will give you about a 130" diagonal on the opposite wall. The Short Throw version has a fixed .8:1 throw ratio, so no optical zoom at all, which means you are going to be using digital correction over optical correction for the image size. Frankly, for the money, I'd get the XGimi Horizon 20. It has both lens shift and optical zoom which is really nice for making setup way easier. It is a standard throw projector, so image size will be impacted... [https://www.projectorcentral.com/xgimi-horizon\_20-projection-calculator-pro.htm#calc](https://www.projectorcentral.com/xgimi-horizon_20-projection-calculator-pro.htm#calc) 2.2m will limit your image size to 66" - 83" diagonal. That's a fair bit smaller and may not work for your desired setup. In which case, the BenQ would be a better choice.
r/projectors · New BenQ TK705i/TK705STi 4K Projector, Any thoughts? No thoughts really. Not sure which DLP chip they are using, but BenQ has been using the .65" chip on everything recently it seems. The use of a LED light engine is interesting as well in a world where all their competition is using triple laser setups. This is going to impact things with their color space coverage. But, it is nice they have Google TV, and eARC capability, along with Bluetooth. The 705i also has a actual zoom lens on it. Just 1.0-1.3 zoom, but that's better than most. Super cool they have a USB-C (with PD) input on it as well as the two HDMI connections. Just not sure how it will stack up next to the competition, like the Nexigo Trivision Ultra.

r/projectors · BenQ TK700 or TK705STi? If the price difference is relatively small, I'd still lean toward the TK705STi. The image quality and gaming performance are very similar, but the short-throw lens gives you a lot more flexibility for setup and future upgrades.
r/projectors · BenQ TK705sti vs GP520 Since you mentioned that movies are your top priority and you’re a cinephile, the TK705STi would generally be the better fit. It offers higher brightness and a more cinema-focused image, and it will also adapt better if you later move it to a brighter living room. The GP520 is more portable and convenient, but it’s designed more for casual viewing. r/projectors · Help me decide my first projector: BenQ TK705STi vs. Epson Lifestudio Flex Plus EF-72 The BenQ is brighter and you get a bigger image much closer to the screen. Also it has better input lag for gaming. The Benq brightness is 3,000 lumens and the Epson is 1,000. Epson EF72 isn't a good 4k projector as it has poor sharpness. The youtuber The Hook Up who reviewd it said it's sharpness was worse than a 1080p projector. You should also look at the HiSense C2 Pro or Ultra if you want higher refresh rate for gaming. Also the Benq X3100i is good option for gaming.

r/BenQ · TK705Sti : Trapèze autour de l'image Thanks for reaching out! From the photo, it appears that the trapezoidal area around the image may be related to Keystone Correction. When Keystone Correction is applied, the projector digitally adjusts and crops the image to create a rectangular picture. As a result, a gray or shadow-like border can sometimes appear around the projected image. This is a normal characteristic of digital keystone adjustment. For more information about Keystone Correction and the gray border effect, you can refer to the article below: [https://www.benq.eu/en-eu/knowledge-center/knowledge/benq-portable-what-is-keystone-correction.html](https://www.benq.eu/en-eu/knowledge-center/knowledge/benq-portable-what-is-keystone-correction.html)

r/projectors · Help me decide my first projector: BenQ TK705STi vs. Epson Lifestudio Flex Plus EF-72 For Sure, BenQ TK705STi is much better than Epson EF-72. I would even say that this is not a fair competition because Epson EF-72's spec is much worse than BenQ TK705STi. BenQ TK705STi is an All-Round projector, everything is ok but faraway from excellent. I think TK705sti is fit to your needs, like movie, portbility, gaming, built-in speaker, Bluetooth ...else. the last one is, TK705stil only has 4k 60hz, you have to turn to 1080p for 120hz. thsi is the only drawback.

r/BenQ · 【FAQ】 BenQ TK705i / TK705STi Quick Guide – Find Everything You Want to Know🔍 Thank you for the reply. I just got off of the phone with BenQ support again and no one there knows how to reset this TK705STi. Emails have been sent to superiors, phone calls have been made, etc. The problem is not the service tech. It is BenQ which has not provided anyone in support with the steps to resolve this/reset this projector. It is still frozen on the same "Android" screen. Again, no one at BenQ knows anything about which jack/plug is being used to power this BenQ projector. I'm concerned about posting the case numbers as they include private information, no? This projector is/was the only thing in the house to watch films or shows on. We have no televisions, large monitors or other projectors. So, it's looking like a long bitter holiday here now, curtesy of BenQ. Why this projector was released before these MOST BASIC of points, how to factory reset the projector and what its tech. specs. are is mind boggling. Straight greed and getting this thing to market ready or not for the holiday sales? Just an idea.
r/BenQ · 【FAQ】 BenQ TK705i / TK705STi Quick Guide – Find Everything You Want to Know🔍 I'm having a miserable time with this thing. This is my 3rd BenQ projector I've had over the years and it is certainly the most problematic. It has less than 30 hours of use and the Android TV software has already failed and completely frozen the projector. After unplugging it and starting the projector again I get a screen that states that the "Android TV may be corrupt"? The same screen has a "Try again" or "Factory reset" option and it states that "any button" will move this screen's curser. NONE of the buttons on the projector or the remote control affect anything at all. The owner's manual explains the factory reset process which is found in one of the projector's menus. There are no longer any projector menus! This would normally be a straight up return but I purchased it from the Projector People (now AVI) which also has a new return policy. Any projector with more than 10 hours of use is not returnable! The marketing around this thing is about being able to place the projector almost anywhere and everywhere one could desire. BUT this TK705sti has a power brick (a first with my BenQ projectors) that is comically huge and heavy. It is honestly the largest and heaviest power brick I have ever seen for a consumer electronic devise. It has a short (3 feet?) permanently attached tether on one side of the brick with a dc coaxial jack that plugs into the project itself. The other end has a C5 cord that can be removed and replaced with different C5 cord lengths. The glaring design flaw is that no matter how long an extension cord you require on the C5 end you still must lug the monster power brick around with the projector itself and its short tether. When I called BenQ to get the type and size of the dc coaxial jack (with the hope of finding something longer to attach to that end to extend the short tether) no one and I mean no one there knows what size this dc coaxial jack is. I was given a case number and it took more than a week to get the response that no one at BenQ support knows the specifications of the dc coaxial jack that they use on their own projector. Yes, this is very hard to believe but it is true, call them yourselves. What state out as a gripe about the power brick has now turned into a huge disappointment as the entire projector is now a "brick" itself.

TK705 - less RBE (if any!) and no Laser Speckle! Or even better the BenQ W2720. What Screen Size are you planning? What is your viewing distance?
Epson has Dust Issues. DLP Projectors like the BenQ VERY rarely - because they have a sealed Lightpath. And often its then a "User Error" because it got "cleaned" with compressed Air. NEVER use compressed Air with a(ny) Projector!
3 Meter = 100" If you don´t play MP like COD you can go 110". You plan to buy 2 Screens then? And I assume you don´t ceiling mount the Projector. Then get the TK705! Laser has more RBE and Laser Speckle!
