Well I mean the 7ii and 9ii will be good at gaming but not oled like the oled or qd oled when it comes to the gaming side. The response time alone and or per pixel level control is next level. So its like 0.03 to 0.05 response time with 7 to 8ms input lag. But I won't lie the 7ii input lag aint bad at all for an led tv. At 4k 120 its 8 to 10ms but its response time is is around 5 to 10ms. Tbh its better than expected. It will game good and the image will look amazing.

Because if not I would say the bravia 8 oled is incredible. I hage the 8ii qd oled but that bravis 8 oled looked better than my a90j oled did. Perfeclty balanced picture and would game like you want. I think people are gettong lost in the number wise of brightness. I always prefer the balanced image over just brighter.

I think its coming from people who are used to testing up close very very slow motion also to test for this stuff and they check blur that way. When comparing to oled and being used to it you may notice it on these but if you are used to led you wont notice it.

r/bravia · Bravia 7 II or Bravia 9 There have been mixed feelings on this. From what I gather, the 9 should be better as it’s the flagship and Sony doesn’t usually have cannibalize their tiers. Some people are saying the 7II appears better though in person. Others are saying the 9 is still superior as it might not have as much color, but maintains deeper blacks. The best thing would be to compare in person. Rtings is set to have their review released by 6/30 for the 7II. Might be worth waiting.

r/bravia · Bravia 9 II 65 initial thoughts Last year when I bought a new TV I was leaning towards A95L or Bravia 9. I too was worried about OLED burn-in since I do game a bit for long sessions at times. Apparently, the newer TVs are better at it than 5+ years ago, but it's still technically a thing. I went with B9 just for that reason and I do not regret my choice one bit. B7 II should serve you well.

The blacks are black just like an oled I had to turn the brightness down. It was too bright. Pictures are extremely clear. The scaling that it only does is amazing. Everything looks 4K. It’s not worth the extra money for the bigger size the 85 inch “ + $2500 over the 7ii

r/4kTV · Looking for a Mini led 4k tv for gaming I was very interested in the Bravia 7ii, but got a little turned off by the rgb backlight color cross talk accuracy issues, and the alleged abysmal gaming performance. I was looking for a good film watching tv to replace my 2017 LG B7 OLED, but still wanted half way decent gaming performance. The hype for the Sony RGB’s sounded like they were the real deal, but that doesn’t appear to be the case. The tech needs a bit more time.

Here’s my Bravia 7 II first impressions: immediately more in line with what I like than the A95L I tried last winter. It’s gets brighter, more colorful, and HDR truly does pop noticeably more on this TV. That being said, these new TVs I’ve been trying have reiterated something that gets lost with time which is that the x900e was a freaking beast for its time and it still holds up well day. It’s a considerable upgrade. Is it worth $2,100? Probably not, to be honest. But that says more about the 900 than it does the 7 II. Since I’ve had my 900 for 8+ years now, I’ll probably keep this one. It’s definitely kilt noticeable when gaming on ps5 and switch 2. I’m a little frustrated I’m spending this kind of money for something with only 2 hdmi 2.1 inputs either one of them being locked for earc, but my ps5 is really the only thing that utilized that. Switch 2 still doesn’t do anything with it for the games I play. HDR content pops on YouTube and I tested it with my interstellar 4k disc and it looks really good. SDR content gets brighter and I notice more color. It depends on your use case, but personally this TV has wowed me in many more ways than the A95L OLED did. I like my brightness!

There is still minor blooming, but it is way less offensive. If you’re looking for it, you’ll still find it, though. But if you aren’t looking for it, it’s not really there 90% of the time. Compared to the a95l, I think this tv is way better for my use case. It’s not popping quite as much as the a95l did, but I would say it’s 90% there. I am impressed with the TV. But at the same time, it’s crazy how long the x900e has stood just fine. The Bravia 7 ii is easily a much better tv

I started off trying to enjoy it with gradation preferred bit ended up changing it to brightness pref. Grad feels too dim and dull. I dont feel like bloom has been an issue at all. Colours look incredible without being saturated. Motion is fine.

All the online research in the world will not help you make a decision as strongly as actually seeing the product and picture quality IRL yourself. I went through this last month, thinking I’d end up with an LG C6 or a Hisense mini RGB, but was absolutely floored by the picture fidelity and color science of Sony. I found myself really liking the Bravia 7 II and the 3 II. I’ve had a mid tier Vizio for 10 years so anything was going to be an upgrade but the value is important to me. I got the Bravia 3 II and have been very happy with my decision so far. Btw the color on the 8 felt off. 8 II looked better, and the A95L looked better as well
r/bravia · Sony Bravia 8 II or just Bravia 8? I mean, I thought the colors and brightness were really great for the price point and it didn't feel like I was looking at an OLED. I'm in the rare minority that doesn't love most OLEDs and newer TVs because they feel more like looking at a computer monitor with bluer tones and backlighting. The Bravia 7 II felt warm, vibrant, and sharp. And if you're a gamer it has VRR and ALLM, which would've been nice. Was really tempted to get it. What put me over the edge for the Bravia 3 II was the anti-glare screen on the 65" and the 4 HDMI 2.1 ports, which I will definitely get good use out of since. And I wanted to try to stay under $1K for getting a new TV.

r/OLED_Gaming · Should I change my Samsung S95F for a Sony Bravia 7 II if I only game on my TV? Buddy, you have some wrong things there. The G4 is not a tandem OLED panel. It has a MLA panel. There must either be something wrong with your TV or eyes. There is no chance that the G4 (still an amazing tv), your monitor, or the C9 is a better tv than that Samsung. I own a S95B and a 49" DQHD QD-OLED MSI monitor hooked up to my 5080 PC. That monitor is amazing. But that S95B is still better. Gets brighter. And that is Samsung their 1st Gen QD-OLED tv. Let alone a 4th Gen tv. If you think switching over to a miniLED from an OLED, you're going to have a hard time. It's worse for gaming. You will also be capped at 4k120 and not 4k165.

But it can't compete with that QD-OLED of the S95F. How do I know? -> I own a A95L and a B8ii. The B8ii shares the same screen as the S95F and significantly outshines my G3. Same with my A95L > G3. I am not a "brand fanboy" of any TV brand as you can see. But hey! You do you and please go and buy that 7ii. Don't come back yelling that you can notice blur during gaming though. You don't want to listen, so please stay away.

However, it only is is your viewing situation is head on and the contrast ain’t close to OLED when it comes to any dark color next to something bright, not just black. The trade off is the colors are beautiful and the brightness you get is unmatched by OLED in a room with lots of windows.

r/bravia · Sony Bravia 7 II vs Sony Bravia 9 II opinion Was debating the same thing and I ended up getting a 85” Bravia 7 II - would’ve loved the 9 II specifically for the reflection handling but for 85 inch it’s $4k vs $6500 (62.5% increase) which seemed too steep. Been very happy with the TV - I am upgrading from a 65” Bravia 7. I’m still playing around with settings but animated movies with lots of color look incredible, and the blacks/blooming is considerably better. The screen is very reflective just like the original 7, not a huge problem for us (our living room windows face east so it’s dark in the evenings). I compared to the Bravia 9 in store before purchasing and did think the colors looked better and the blooming comparable. Store didn’t have the 9 ii yet when I looked. I also have a non-Sony soundbar so the audio difference didn’t matter for me. I did see mention that the Bravia 9 II screen is very tough to clean, so might be a factor if you have little kids

(I certainly am not going to, nor would I want to just for your gratification, lie to you and say it was. 🙃🙂) Only the 65” B8ii, 75” B9ii, and 77” A95L were part of the test group, which were all three, compared to the Sony BVM-HX3110 30.5” 4K Trimaster reference monitor. r/bravia · Sony bravia 8 ii 65" impressions For those looking to upgrade to the Bravia 8ii from a Sony 900f/h or any of their LED’s, don’t hesitate it’s not even close and I have a Sony X90L. The LED’s are amazing but they are what they are and off angle the viewing is flat and the blacks do not compare. The newer Bravia 9, 7ii and 9ii are much better with blacks than the normal LED’s but nothing beats pure OLED! The Bravia 8ii is not the brightest oled, but it is damn bright and the colors POP! The biggest advantage of this Sony is the processor, everything looks new, modern, crisp and amazing. For context, I have a 77” LG G4 and to me it’s slightly brighter than my 65” b8ii but the Sony wins with its processing although it’s very close. The LG’s are amazing oled tvs as well and the whites pop off the screen, so both have their pros but that damn processing that Sony does is special.

The b9 ii should be out in a few weeks or so and I honestly don't see it fairing any better. The 7 ii got absolutely destroyed by the TCL X11k in pretty much every single category except for motion.

Hell, it's worse than the X95K was by a significant margin (and that TV was released around 2022). These new RGB LED TVs are basically unusable for gaming. The backlights are so incredibly slow that they cause significant smearing, color cross-talk, and other various artifacts.

The picture is brilliant and the input lag is dialed in where it needs to be for casual gaming. However, if all you want is gaming.. I think your money could be spent better elsewhere on a good OLED. The B9ii, and consequently the B7ii, have slower pixel response time than OLED by a good margin. This means 24fps motion in movies looks amazingly smooth, but it also means all games have motion blur during movement. And with these RGB sets specifically, there is a bit of color smearing on fast movement for 60fps games and lower. You may notice it or may not, but it’s a flaw that OLED absolutely do not have. I’m hoping it gets fixed by firmware, and it’s possible given that the TVs are brand new, but I would question why anyone would buy these TVs for gaming **only**. If you’re buying the tv to mainly watch movies and tv shows and do a little gaming on the side, then yeah this tv is awesome.

I don't have the means to fully test latency, but I haven't noticed it being significantly worse than any other standard display, having used it for GameCube, Xbox 360, and PS5 so far. Neat note about the GameCube is that it doesn't automatically stretch the image if it's 4:3, you get the proper aspect ratio by default.

However, for real-world use on streaming apps (Netflix, Max, Prime), it is incredibly disappointing. The Dolby Vision processing is either too dim and washed out, or grainy and saturared making compressed streams unwatchable in my living room. Another problem, when I watch apps like Apple+ in Dolby Vision the picture mode is Dolby Vision yet the Picture Settings are in Profesional Mode. I am at wits end and ready to turn this tv back.

MiniLED isn't inherently worse for gaming than OLED at low refresh rates if what you're getting at is pixel response times. Persistence blur for OLED at 120-165hz is substantially more jarring to my eyes than an LCD at 120hz (within reason; bad LCD blur will always be worse, but the panels Sony are using this year are fairly clean). The Sony will definitely have worse input lag, though the difference isn't massive.

Not sure where you are coming from but I have a G5 and an S95F and the latter wins hands down especially on PC titles. It also reaches 4000 nits modded (same as 9ii) although the 9ii will have better gamut coverage. It seems that you won't calibrate your TVs anyway, so TCL X11L may also be a good choice if you value brightness more than color accuracy. I have sent you the suggested settings for S95F privately (since the modder does not want it to be shared publicly), but if you are dead set to use the RGB LEDs I think you can't go wrong with 7ii or 9ii. With the 7ii the brightness (which is the main advantage of LED) is even lower than stock S95F though.

Only if the brightness has to be turned up to max. How much does that affect the durability of the panel itself? I've read that it's not good to keep the brightness at max. The other problem is that the B7II and B9II come with a 2-year warranty, so you have to pay extra for an additional 3 years. I think it's around €200-300, while the B8II comes standard with a 5-year warranty (2+3)

Some say that the B7II is even better than the Bravia 9 miniled (2024). Although I have to admit that the upscaling is excellent on the xe9005 (x900e) 720p-1080p. The B7II costs €2040 and the B8II costs €2300, but I am concerned about the brightness of the B8II, and I assume that this B7II is significantly brighter.. According to you, can the B7II be compared to an oled tv?

Also currently these models are overpriced they will be much cheaper soon. If you are in a rush you can also look at B9 which should be more reasonably priced. Also an excellent tv. A final note, dont expect your tv to last 10 years thats not the case anymore

Idk I just don’t get the line of reasoning. When I think cannabalizing I’m thinking a a pro laptop vs a standard laptop and the pro models only distinction is 8gb ram. That would be cannabilizing. 2. Since they are separate technologies designed for different reasons it follows the 7ii and the 9ii were essentially developed to solve the color representation in mini led. Similarly to prior lines the two have the biggest distinction in dimming zones. The biggest difference is the rgb part so it follows the 7ii is a step above in color over anything released prior gen but will have some blooming challenges. Rgb also has potential blooming issues with more colors than just white so there’s that. But iteratively the screen on the 7ii is going to essentially solve the problems it was created to solve form prior gen’s no more no less. Here the kicker is investment in new technologies, not the product line collapsing on itself and being marketing jargon like other brands.

For your room size , 77 will be small, so Bravia 9 II will not work for you. Sony TVs are amazing , best color representation and best upscaling as well. That monitor can’t use anywhere near the power either TV can and as such lacks in highlights unless they are a 1.5% window. S95F does 2200 peak on a 10% window, you must have the settings wrong but by all means judging by your attitude in this thread go for the 7 ii. Going from an OLED to an LCD for gaming is an interesting choice to say the least
