LG OLED C6

LG OLED C6, packshot

    r/OLED_Gaming · Has LG Stagned?

You bought a new LG TV at essentially the worst moment. This is likely the last year they will sell pure WOLED. Even now, the larger size C series are using the new tandem panels, which are a generational leap. The model you bought is the same technology they used in your C1. A few minutes of research would have revealed this. You should have either bought a G series or a Sony/Samsung if you wanted to see any improvement over your C1.

r/LGOLED · Has LG Stagnated? C1 and C6 looks the same.

There is a big difference in HDR. You’re going from 750 nits to 1400 nits. And less weight does not mean worse, the C1 used a thick metal backplate and a large metal stand. The C2 switched to composite fiber and a smaller stand to lose 50% of the weight.

This seems really weird, like what are you expecting here? Does it not perfectly display the image that was intended by the movie / game? You're complaining about no differences but clearly by a simple google there's 2 major ones - refresh rate and brightness. Are you actually not seeing the difference here? Also the argument of "built like a tank" twice in the same post is so laughable, why does WEIGHT suddenly have an impact of how well built something is? Are you throwing it around or something every time?

Depends on the size, for the C6 you would notice a difference with only the 48 inch since it is the only one with the new tandem panel. The other 2 are C6H 77 and 83 inch using the same panel. I believe the 42, 55 and 65 are all 3 just a regular woled panel.

    r/LGOLED · LG G6/C6 vs Samsung S95H

You are on an LG forum, so all your answers will be skewed towards LG, for instance, no one mentioned the color accuracy of the QD-OLED panel vs the WOLED that the LGs both have, or the color-banding that exists on WOLED panels that almost never appears on QD-OLED, I have both an LG C6 and a Samsung S90F and I can tell you that the S90F is far better at gaming, color accuracy, off-axis viewing, and HDR brightness. HDR10 vs Dolby Vision is only really a large issue on cheaper televisions with poor tone-mapping, very negligible on these 3 TVs. The G6 is brighter in most situations, but that is about it, you would be happy with any of these three TVs, but unless you are watching a lot of SDR upscaled content, the S95H is the winner.

They're about the same in nominal dollar terms, but inflation has made that effectively cheaper than it was five years ago and OLEDs get more aggressive discounts today than they did 5+ years ago. Secondly the modern comp of the C1 isn't really the C6, it's the B5 or B6 which are far cheaper even in nominal dollar terms and are still objectively better TVs than a C1. If you were happy with your C1 you could have saved a ton of money by purchasing a B5 or B6 instead.

    Qualité-prix
    r/OLED_Gaming · Has LG Stagned?

No? They've gotten cheaper, brighter, have better burn in resistance, and are more efficient than they were 5-6 years ago. OLEDs already looked great half a decade ago, but the technology is still improving. A well maintained 40 year old car can still get you anywhere you want to be, doesn't mean a new car isn't nicer and more efficient.

I assume you mean S95F? That is a higher Tier than the C5. While many in the industry feel the C5 is the value king for what you get for the money, the S95F is the "better" set. LG just announced the C6 and they are bringing some of their highest Tier features down to the C6 and I believe this will be the value king again.

See if you can get a deal on the G5. As in there is a decent amount of difference between the C6 and the G6, but there isn’t much between the G6 and the G5 (and in fact some prefer the G5 over the G6). In case there is no G5 option, for everyday use, if your room is dark in general, the C5 will work well for it, but if it has a lot of light in general, then the G6’s brighter screen will be much more useful.

    r/LGOLED · LG G6/C6 vs Samsung S95H

They're all great honestly. Samsung is generally a bit oversaturated in my opinion and LG appeared more natural. Samsung also doesn't support Dolby vision which was a no go for me. On the LG side whether to go C6 or G6 depends on your use case, sensitivity, room brightness and screen size. For 90% id recommend the C6 because the G simply isn't worth the extra cost for most, if your looking the 77" or above theres even less difference (uses G panel). G is great for wall mounting (flush chassis) and has a brighter panel (but C still gets really bright. Id go G if you want a flush mount or have a stupidly bright room.

    r/LGOLED · C6 48, C6 55 or G3 55 - which one should I choose for the office?

Given how you are using it, ngl I would keep the 55 inch size and go with the [LG C6 55](https://featherab.com/shopit?q=LG%2BC6%2B55%2BOLED%2BTV). I ran into the same kind of size tradeoff when moving between desk and TV use, and once 55 starts feeling right, dropping to 48 can feel like a downgrade even if the panel tech is interesting. The G3 price is tempting, but used since 2023 plus missing the newer gaming controls makes it less clean for your office setup. The C6 48 only makes sense if desk distance is the main pain point. For SDR gaming and keeping your current workflow, LG C6 55 is the balanced pick here.

    r/LGOLED · Oled C6, should i be worried?

I would keep pushing on this, tbh, especially at only 20 days old. When I dealt with a questionable panel issue, the key was making it impossible to dismiss: same room lighting, same test pattern, date-stamped photos, and normal content shots showing whether the spot is visible in real use. If it is growing or looks like a layer issue, that is not something I’d accept as normal without LG putting that in writing. The technician saying both “common to every OLED” and “I do not see it” is not a clean diagnosis. Since the store already assigned a senior tech, I’d ask for exchange eligibility and a written report before the return window gets weaker.

    r/LGOLED · Lg G6 oled 55 vs C6 65

At 12 feet, I would pick the [LG C6 65 inch OLED TV](https://featherab.com/shopit?q=LG%2BC6%2B65%2Binch%2BOLED%2BTV), ngl. I have made the higher-tier versus bigger-size choice before, and distance changes the whole thing. The [LG G6 55 inch OLED TV](https://featherab.com/shopit?q=LG%2BG6%2B55%2Binch%2BOLED%2BTV) will probably look a bit better in brightness and refinement, but from 12 feet the smaller size is going to make that advantage harder to appreciate. The LG C6 65 inch OLED TV gives you more immersion, easier subtitles, and a more obvious upgrade every single time you sit down. I would only choose the LG G6 55 inch OLED TV if wall mounting style, room brightness, or the gallery design matters more than screen impact.

    75 pouces et plusSalon lumineux
    r/LGOLED · LG C5, LG C6 or Panasonic 77Z8

For your mix, I would probably stay with [LG C5 OLED](https://featherab.com/shopit?q=LG%2BC5%2BOLED%2BTV) unless the 77-inch size is the whole point, tbh. Older consoles, DVDs, OTA, and lower-res sources make processing and motion handling matter more than spec-sheet AI features, and you already know LG’s menus and behavior. I went through a similar size-versus-processing choice, and the bigger panel was great until moving it became part of the routine. The [LG C6 OLED](https://featherab.com/shopit?q=LG%2BC6%2BOLED%2BTV) only makes sense to wait for if you specifically want the newer processing and can actually get the October price you expect. The [Panasonic 77Z8](https://featherab.com/shopit?q=Panasonic%2B77Z8%2BOLED%2BTV) is tempting at that price, but the weight and ecosystem switch sound like real downsides for your setup.

Crazy idea, but go to your local Best Buy and compare the picture quality. All the online research in the world will not help you make a decision as strongly as actually seeing the product and picture quality IRL yourself. I went through this last month, thinking I’d end up with an LG C6 or a Hisense mini RGB, but was absolutely floored by the picture fidelity and color science of Sony. I found myself really liking the Bravia 7 II and the 3 II. I’ve had a mid tier Vizio for 10 years so anything was going to be an upgrade but the value is important to me. I got the Bravia 3 II and have been very happy with my decision so far. Btw the color on the 8 felt off. 8 II looked better, and the A95L looked better as well

OLED has made significant progress in the past 2-3 years, but you need to up yourself to G or S95 series to reap the benefits. C series used to be the go-to OLED but really has not made any meaningful progress since CX/C1 if you don’t count C6H. If your budget doesn’t allow, then you should go for S90F (not S90H) instead of C5/6 if your focus is gaming.

Definitely not the last TV from Sony. That said I’ve seen the BRAVIA 9II side bi side with the LG and Samsung and it was not even close. What they could do in blacks looked impressive, but you could tell they were just crushing black level detail that the Sony resolved perfectly. When they started getting bright is where the OLEDs just fell apart in color saturation and the Sony pulled far ahead. As others have mentioned…go 85!

I had a chance yesterday to compare C6 and G6 together with the same video playing simultaneously. I was at the store to buy G6 77 inch. G6 is much brighter and obviously is far better than C6. But I think the real deal for you should be the size of the TV. Personally, if given an option, I would opt for 65 inch C6 rather than 55 inch G6 if 65 is the right size for me. Reflection handling with G6 is better than C6. If you plan to use the TV with limited ambient light in your room, you could go with C5/C6. You can even look for deals on C5 and G5 if they are available around.

Go with the G6 if you want better brightness, the new tandem OLED panel, and budget isn't an issue. Go with the C6 if you have balanced, optimal room lighting and want to save money. Most importantly, select the right screen size for your living room. Also, LG India provides a free wall mount with your TV. I had mine installed in May at no cost. You will be given an option to select either a wall mount or a TV stand. If the LG service center charges you anything, complain to LG Customer Care right away. The installation will be scheduled by LG, and all the information will be sent to your registered WhatsApp number. Your warranty will begin right after you share the installation OTP with the technician visiting your home.

r/LGOLED · Has LG Stagnated? C1 and C6 looks the same.

Also I would argue it's the content that's stagnanted. Watch Spiderverse or Matrix in HDR full brightness and you should notice the difference. For content that is underwhelming turn on Dynamic Tone Mapping to see more difference between TV's

    r/LGOLED · C5 65" vs C6 65"

Man I really wish you had a C5 to compare it to. I had an 83" B5 and returned it for a 83" C5 after I had the 77" C5 next to it. The C5 blew the B5 out of the water in terms of image processing and picture quality. The motion handling was better too. So I can imagine for you going from B5 to a C6 was night and day. You say SDR looks good on it? Have you tried the AI HDR Remaster feature?

How big is your TCL compared to the C5? Bigger the screen , the more the image is stretched. But this is also why I'm curious enough to want to get the C6, I hear the processing is good and that the AI HDR Remaster by the processor does a good job of upscaling. This was based of a G6 review but the C6 and G6 use the same processor

    r/OLED_Gaming · LG C6 48 (Tandem WOLED) Review

The main differences with 48 G5 are that the C6 has 13-bit processing, which gives it slightly smoother gradients and eliminates the diagonal dithering lines (although I can't see them on my G5 unless I put my nose right up to the screen). For some reason, though, VRR flicker seems to be much worse on the C6 than it is on the G5 or any previous LG OLED models. There are also several 48" C6 owners in this subreddit who have been complaining about worse VRR flicker as well.

Used the C6 48 for a week after moving my G5 55 to my room. Accidentally played an HDR video on my G5 and realized it’s just on an other level compared to the C6. The C6 is now in the bedroom and the G5 is back at the desk.

    r/OLED_Gaming · LG C2 42 to LG G6 55 Flickering is insane

Yes, this G6 appears to be a defective unit. I would return it. My experience with the C6 48" was that the first panel I received had two stuck subpixels, one of which resolved after a pixel cleaning. I returned the unit to Bestbuy in exchange for another panel, which had no defects at all. Interestingly, both panels calibrated to exactly the same brightness of 1480nits in Win11 HDR tool, and neither had any subjective flicker with or without VRR enabled, and both panels have near perfect gray uniformity with no significant DSE or vertical banding reported on other tandem panels.

r/4kTV · Need help on my first OLED purchase

A midrange LG C5 or C6 may suit you at 55 inches. The flagships like the Bravia 8 MK2 and Samsung S95F, LG G5 and Panasonic Z95B might be out of your price range. If you can find a rare Sony A95L new though that would be ideal (my uncle managed to snag a 55 inch model boxed and new in store for a little over a £1100/$1474), but the 55 inch size is discontinued in general (only 77 inch remains online).

r/OLED_Gaming · Want to get a 4k oled tv for gaming

Most of us here in the oled subreddit will recommend the LG's. Loads of us are happy with their price and their performance. As far as the resolution goes, when you get your new display: give 4k a whirl and see if your 5080 with framegen doesn't surprise you. If you use full screen, you'll see blank, black spaces on all sides of the game while gaming in 1440p on a 2160p display: displaying at 2160. If you set the resolution on Windows to 1440p, and play in full screen at 1440p: you will have a full screen. Alternatively: you can use full screen windowed mode for your game and you would just see your desktop or whatever is open behind the game if you're displaying in Windows at 2160p but game is displaying at 1440p. I hope any of that helped. I have an LG c5 55, and  B5 48. Love my b5 for desktop use and gaming in 4k at 120hz. The c6 I believe is 165hz 4k. Best of luck on your oled journey.

    r/LGOLED · Lg C6 77"

LG released two models for the C-Series in 2026 which are dependant on screen size. The larger 77" and 83" TV's (named C6H in most countries) have the upgraded Tandem OLED panels which are included with G5, and G6 models. In terms of overall performance these sit very slighty behind the equivalent G5, but are a noticeable improvement in brightness and color reproduction over C5 and C6 (non H models).

r/OLED_Gaming · Is this a good OLED TV for ps5 gaming?

Rtings tests have shown that this TV uses the same panel as the LG C6 but with a much higher brightness cap. It gets to 1400 nits peak while the C6 gets close to 1900 nits. So the C6 is the better choice. Or you could go with a 2025 S90F, which is also much brighter than this one. The S90H just doesn’t make any sense.

Hmm I use a 42" at 18" from my face. I couldn't imagine sitting over twice as far away for only 6". You want the bright in the small windows. The 42" c2 full screen white window is really pretty dim. I also would NEVER use a TV OS. Ever. So I think I will go to the c6 48" based on your remarks lol, it sounds wonderful!

lol very strange how the 42, 55, 65 don't have tandem but the 48 inch does. I'm also looking at a video of the C6 vs the S90H and so far the C6 looks better. However, this video is comparing both in standard W-OLED and not the rgb tandem you mentioned.

r/4kTV · Samsung r87h MicroRGB VS. TCL c8L Mini-LED VS. LG C6 pro OLED. What should i buy?

LG G5 or C6 The G5 has a much better anti-reflective coating, plus a 5yr panel warranty. Recently bought an 83” for $3,400 but it was also briefly on the partner store for $3k If you care about motion handling, clarity, and upscaling… OLED is the only way forward. LCD panels always introduce a certain level of blur due to image retention.

The C6 will be much cheaper next year when the PS6 and Xbox Helix are released. Wait to purchase the C6 until then, unless you want to get a C5/G5 on prime day as they will be greatly reduced most likely.

I would definitely wait. Since it's a 48 inch, I'm guessing, you're planning to buy it for your desk? Your living situation could change. Suddenly, you don't want to sit on a desk anymore, get a new couch or recliners and then you just want a TV stand and would need a bigger TV. Also, maybe there will be newer, better and cheaper TVs. Always good to wait because of the technology advancing and you don't know your own situation in the future.

I definitely need a bigger TV as it’s a big room and when I use the calculators it says 77” is ideal… so that works really well. Moving the lounge is not an option as it’s huge and fairly locked in to its position. Waiting for the CH6 vs G5 reviews, but will most likely wait for a discounted CH6 as it seems similar to the G5 but will be cheaper.

The weight of the C1 was primarily the stand. They found out how to make the stand lighter but still have stability. Making the TV's lighter and complaining about it is wild lmao. Why'd you even buy the c6 anyways? Did you do your research? Look at the differences in a store? This seems like a pretty easy thing to avoid. Complaining that your tv has a long lifespan. It's 5 years. Not 15. There's not gonna be leaps and bounds year after year

Honestly that kind of brightness it’s not necessary. The problem with older versions of LG OLED is that for some reason they tend to dim SDR too much. I have the samsung using their WOLED panel and SDR it’s much more brighter. The only reason I prefer LG is for their motion handling, which is smoother and it doesn’t look stuttering
