Just got 2 more because I really want this one to work...got one (the other is missing somewhere) the new one I just got....still has a slight rattle you can hear on sleep mode. I don't know what to do.

r/AirPurifiers · Winix Zero Review (actually does something for my allergies) I have purchased a few similar versions of these over the years, always from Costco. I have found them to be very effective. In addition to not running it at its highest power settings for long periods, I also suggest having them plugged into a surge protector. I have had 3 of these become inoperable (won't turn on) after summer storms. Lightning didn't strike near my place, but close enough to spike the current a small amount. It didn't hurt other appliances or devices. Has happened on 3 separate occasions. And it can't be repaired.

r/HouseFresh · Help choosing a Winix air purifier The big difference I saw between the zero and zero S was that the carbon in the zero was the type A which is carbon fabric vs the type H used in the zero S. However I have just checked to confirm and you can fit the type H filter in the zero if you wanted to. At some point I will do a full video and web review for the zero as I know it’s available in many places outside of the US. Thanks for your very thorough post!

r/AirPurifiers · Can’t choose an air purifier for a medium bedroom that isn’t too big You should keep in mind, bigger means less noise and more quiet. For example - the main difference between a Winix Zero and Winix Zero Pro is the noise. I would say, also check filter costs and if you can find generic filters. But a small purifier can never keep up with the dust in a bedroom in my experience.

I have the exact same one and been using it for 6 years now. Just make sure you don't get replacement filters just because they are cheaper. Some aren't true hepa and the sizing is slightly off for many of them. I agree that the sensor lights are somewhat inaccurate, but the sensor itself is quite good. Whenever I use any aerosol in the vicinity of the Winix, it auto switches to high or max speed. You really should be keeping it on auto because it's not performing as well as it should on constant low setting. And auto mode will keep it running on low and turn off all the lights when the room is dark.
Not a single issue or sign of wear. All you have to do is vacuum the prefilter and once a year clear the dust where the sensor is.
