r/Tapo · Rich notifications just buy a cheap h200 hub and you will have all records
r/Tapo · Tapo cameras: Is there a way to set the duration of motion-triggered recordings? I told them to change it for hubs, it's using local WiFi so I don't understand for that limitation at all, it's not using their servers at all. Because of it I'm forced to use continuous recording, I will never trust these short clips. It should be at least 30 seconds for the shortest clip, or the same length as for camera SD card events.
r/Tapo · Tapo cameras: Is there a way to set the duration of motion-triggered recordings? not possible to change the duration, it's designed like that you are lucky it's 15 seconds for h500, because for h200 it's 9 to 10 seconds only yes I have confirmation from support some time ago
r/Tapo · H200 killing micro SD card I have used a Samsung Pro Endurance for over a year in a Tapo H200 with no issues.
r/Tapo · Tapo H200 event recordings are too short and play in fast forward I agree that events are too short, but with newest firmware which fixed almost everything and 24/7 that hub is perfect for only 20-25 pounds to save videos just in case someone steal your camera.
r/Tapo · H500 power outage requires HD format it's the same with h200 hub sometimes after power outage, the worst part of it is, that you won't get any notification that you need to format your card again, and if you don't have cards in cameras nothing will be saved
r/Tapo · Tapo H200 sdcard initialising issue every few weeks It must be a power outage, or the hub restarted, or the router rebooted, and after that the hub sometimes just stops responding, and the only way is to format a card. What firmware do you have? With beta firmware, I haven't experienced it yet.
r/Tapo · C120 event durations are too long yes, no other choice, 15 sec events are useless :d
r/Tapo · C120 event durations are too long yes, hubs events are designed from 10 to 15 seconds, that's why I use continuous recording, clips are too short with h200 and h500, you miss too much
r/Tapo · What is the hub for? you can, h200 and h500 are ap for cameras, WiFi backup option
r/Tapo · Question about Tapo H200 hub you have 3 connection options for h200 hub, sub GHz for sub GHz cameras, they have to be in range of your h200 hub. WiFi cameras need to be in range of your WiFi, WiFi cameras can use h200 WiFi back up option, they need to be in your h200 WiFi AP range.
r/Tapo · Tapo H200 -- older hardware version received from amazon --> returned I have the newest beta firmware and hub 1.6 and still it's not possible to set up that hub without an ethernet cable. 1.6 means just an updated package, or instructions, hardware is the same.
r/Tapo · Single most frustrating piece of technology So what you can do, firstly separate your 5ghz WiFi and 2.4ghz, then set up your WiFi for channel 1, 6 or 11 for 2.4ghz. You can try WiFi backup function with h200 hub if the above wont help. Turn off seamless roaming if you have mesh at home.
r/Tapo · Tapo care cloud storage alternatives just buy h200 hub
r/Tapo · Tapo H200 network setup query yes, you can https://preview.redd.it/loji4mbo5a6h1.png?width=1080&format=png&auto=webp&s=8bc1bbf76d47c44ce5e099cc5d7f895d91a3746a

r/Tapo · Tapo care cloud storage alternatives Literally the point of the h200 and h500 hub
r/Tapo · Rich notifications Find us someone that does rich notifications and cloud clips for free. Do you have a server farm in your back yard? Literally just get a $40 tapo h200 hub and stop complaining
r/Tapo · Tapo hub H200 with C200 and C320WS cameras for recording ? H200 will work the same just have backup cards in the cameras Incase.
r/Tapo · H500 hub reviews? H200 can do all that for 1/3rd the price which is what I'm cross comparing
r/Tapo · H500 hub reviews? It's does. I'm actually a big wyze user, 15 cameras, home alarm system with 30 sensors, bulbs galore. I've been making my way towards other systems just not sure yet. I have 2 tapo cameras for testing, 2 reolink, and 1 eufy. I also have 20 or so tapo smart switches already. Just not sure the 3x price is worth it for the h500 hub vs the 200 yet. Basically h500 supports larger better storage and matter support and largely untested facial recognition. H200 has native home assistant integration h500 doesn't yet. Does the h500 do 24x7 recording with all those cameras or just events only? Are there other smart actions/automations you can do with the hub you can't do with individual cameras? Is there a centralized events area for clips from other cameras or are those still only visible by going to each camera?

r/Tapo · How to make all cameras and h500 sound an alarm at the same time?! You can do it with the h200 by adding individual smart actions for each camera, I can't see why the h500 would be any different.
r/Tapo · H200 - can this play different chime (and different volume) for different devices? If you have a smart bulb in the hall, you can programme a routine that turns it on for a set time if it is after sunset as well as making the hub chime. Don't forget to put a micro SD card in the hub so you can record to it rather than one in the doorbell.
r/Tapo · H500 vs Micro SD I would recommend getting a hub (h200 is fine) for any external cameras especially doorbells, simply because if someone steals the camera you still have footage, SD cards in internal cameras are fine. The hub also acts as another chime for the doorbell and is useful if you add switches etc later, I have a switch on the front door which turns on a hall light for 2 minutes when opened between sunset and sunrise.
r/Tapo · How does the siren/alarm work on a H200 hub? It should do everything you need, the volume is adjustable from very quiet to loud it has 5 alarm noises 10 doorbell rings and 4 other sounds. You can assign any sound/loudness to a particular camera using smart actions and use the automation to also turn on a smart bulb or smart socket with a radio etc. There is also the advantage of being able to store the videos in the hub rather than on a card in the camera.

r/Tapo · What are great long-term local storage solutions for the TP-Link Tapo C120s besides Micro SD? Tapo H500 hub with WD Red. The Tapo H200 works really well when paired with high endurance SD cards.
r/Tapo · Storing videos outside cameras? Probably wait for the H200 to restock, or consider getting the H500. People are still waiting for the H500, as it's a significant upgrade over the H200. I can see that it's now available on Amazon.

r/Tapo · D235 and H200 or H500 Friend has the D235 and the H200 and it goes down so often it is useless. The doorbell is within 5 feet of the router as well, so loss of signal is complete BS. They also have their wifi networks split so the 5g and the 2.4 are separate. The H200 is also hardwired. They are also using a high endurance SD card.. I can't recommend the H500 as it's a joke for what you pay for it. Tapo needs to release a real NVR, and not just a hub.
r/Tapo · Tapo H200 event recordings are too short and play in fast forward See in my use case it's not as I have to use a motion box for pet detection at night as the C120 sucks, period. During the day it's phenomenal, but at night, a skunk or cat or raccoon or bear (bear was last year) could walk right in front of the extremely well lit camera, not even 6 feet away and it doesn't register as a "pet". It just misses them completely. I only found out as I have a wyze cam covering the same spot and it had every single pet detection while the C120 missed everything. I'd get a C246D, but my H200 doesn't have access to the firmware that will allow it to work..so I'd be back to SD card only recording. Does anyone know of any of the Tapo cameras that work with a concrete driveway and pets at night? You'd figure white background with plenty of light it would be able to see, but no..
r/Tapo · Tapo H200 event recordings are too short and play in fast forward I feel 15-20 seconds is far too short. I know you are not an employee and are just as frustrated.
r/Tapo · Tapo H200 event recordings are too short and play in fast forward I've commented before that my H200 does not see this firmware update. It's very, VERY frustrating. The fact that continuous recording is only useful with the hubs, which I do use, and the recorded events detected aren't functional, makes them pretty much useless.. What's the point of having event detection while you're doing continuous recording if the event playback is completely broken forcing you to go to the sd card to locate the time frame to see what actually happened.. I wish this would have been part of the documentation. Thanks SugarrSugarr.
r/Tapo · TAPO H200 It makes no fucking sense. I'm sorry Tapo reps, but this seriously needs to be addressed. The update is 2 months old. I should be seeing this update at this point, unless your update servers are being hosted on a smart fridge. If you can roll out updates to your routers as soon as they happen, there is no reason you can't roll out updates to your smart devices when they happen.
r/Tapo · TAPO H200 Well that's just bad. With an update this old it should automatically be sent to devices at this point, specially if it has security fixes and device compatibility fixes, which it does. People have bought the H200 expecting it to work with their cameras, and it won't because the device they bought is outdated, and no new updates are being pushed, even though they exist.
r/Tapo · TAPO H200 The official response I got from the forums was "If you need the update that badly, please contact support and they can try to force it out to you". What a joke. The update is 2 months old, it should not be "still rolling out."
r/Tapo · Setting up a security system If you want you can use the H200 just for the cameras, and use the H100 for the sensors. If not, the H200 will handle everything, and the H100 would not be used at all. https://www.tp-link.com/ca/home-networking/smart-hub/tapo-h200/

r/Tapo · H200 - can this play different chime (and different volume) for different devices? Yes the time. Ringtone. Volume. And option to add if condition/s are met. I haven't tested it but it looks all there
r/Tapo · D235 and H200 or H500 Fyi the h200 with the high endurance SD card is still working well. Keeping fingers crossed. Touch wood 👍🤞
r/Tapo · D235 and H200 or H500 I have a D130 and H200. I was having alot of issues with the sdcard needing indiating suddenly and suddenly no recordings once it buggered up. I reached out to tp link who sent me a new h200 firmware but still issues persisted. I have since purchased a high endurance sd card (hopefully a legitamate one) as my last resort and see how it goes. Been going fine so far since Friday afternoon. Fingers crossed x

r/Tapo · H200 - can this play different chime (and different volume) for different devices? I have a sensor that makes a "normal" chime during the day. During certain periods at night it screeches and makes some of the color Tapo bulbs turn on red. It's not THAT loud with the screeching, but loud enough for anybody who does belong know that someone is paying attention to the intrusion. You can set events based on Time periods. "When 4pm to 7pm, if door sensor detects door open, then play sound #3 at low volume for 3 seconds.". "When 7pm to 9pm, if door sensor detects open, then play sound #7 at high for 10 seconds.". "When "always", if door sensor is open more than 15 minutes, then send notification that door is still ope.". There's a lot of combinaitons of when-if-then actions you can create. Arguably if you're really going to get into this you may be better off switching to something like HomeAssistant which has better granularity and universally supports more things than just Tapo, but Tapo's actions are simple enough to set up and are still very flexible.

r/Tapo · Tapo H200 -- older hardware version received from amazon --> returned I am too lazy to take a screenshot, but cut the asshole attitude. According to the app it is possible for some version of this device, it even explains how it works (connect to a wifi router with name XXX\_XXX, etc. quite a bit of detail). And yes, it has been possible to do fully wifi setups of IOT devices for almost a decade by now (in the way explained above for non BT or NFC enabled devices). So I don't really know what is wrong with you that you make assumptions about other people being wrong. Cut it out, as you don't know really.
r/Tapo · Tapo H200 -- older hardware version received from amazon --> returned Setup followed by upgrade of FW and re-set results in no updated behavior.
r/Tapo · Tapo H200 -- older hardware version received from amazon --> returned The app shows that newer versions have a 100% wifi setup. Also the box says hw version 1.6 but the app reports it as 1.0. I don’t like being misled.
r/Tapo · Tapo H200 -- older hardware version received from amazon --> returned The tapo app says that if it blinks orange and blue (or was it green) then it is doable, this means there is new versions that have that feature.
r/Tapo · Tapo H200 -- older hardware version received from amazon --> returned It updated to 1.6 firmware but the new HW is new, it setups via wifi without the need of ethernet. Who knows what else the new HW has that the old doesn't. I am not risking on a new device. I want the newest HW they have if they are selling it for full price.
r/Tapo · Tapo H200 -- older hardware version received from amazon --> returned no it is not. app reports hw 1.0 even though the box says hw is 1.6
r/Tapo · Tapo H200 -- older hardware version received from amazon --> returned I updated the fw and it still doesn’t work. App reports hw version 1.0 even though box says it’s 1.6. So it’s a hw version issue.

r/Tapo · TAPO H200 Thanks, I've looked at the H500 and it seems very underwhelming for the price (CAD$199). I like the idea of the HDMI output for live viewing, but all my cameras are solar or battery, so live streaming is out of the question. I would need to factor in $ for a 2.5" drive as I don't have any spare and I have read the AI functionality is pretty spotty so the only benefit would be the additional device count. I think Ill just get another H200 (CAD$36) for my 2 x C645D's and call it a day, as I have plenty of SD Cards lying around.
r/Tapo · TAPO H200 Yep the dual-lens camera's taking up 2 slots makes perfect sense when you consider that they are essentially 2 different camera's. H500 doesn't really seem like a good value proposition for me, so I'll likely get multiple H200's as required.
r/Tapo · TAPO H200 My H200 firmware update came through today (BC, Canada). 1.6.5 Build 20260703 rel.7825 Finally I can add my C645D's onto the hub. My only complaint (although it makes sense), is the dual lens camera's take up 2 of the 4 camera slots per H200. I have 3 x C645D's, so will need to get another H200 to act as central recording for the other 2.

r/Tapo · TAPO H200 It only makes sense if they found issues in the firmware and are working on a fix, but then why not put a release starting that? My tinfoil hat is pointing in the direction of they want me to be frustrated and just buy the Tapo H500 which is currently compatible with my new cameras. Which TBH, would be cheaper than getting local storage for my C645D's due to current pricing. Currently they are just sitting there watching my yard generating alerts. I do have some other camera's covering critical things.

r/Tapo · Tapo H200 event recordings are too short and play in fast forward Yep, has shown for us too: [Download for Tapo H200 | TP-Link](https://www.tp-link.com/us/support/download/tapo-h200/#Firmware-Release-Notes) \- but this is happening as we speak, and I can see that something *different* is occurring. We will be able to learn more when the notes and version are posted. The firmware I mentioned above has the fixes in that update, along with 3 additional notes - one with a new device being supported (t150) and two additional fixes
r/Tapo · Current Tapo Smart Hub (H200/H500) Compatible Camera List There are two features at play here: Local Recording is the feature that allows you to record your footage to the app. Network Priority, or Wi-Fi Backup is the feature that would allow a camera to connect directly to the Hub's wireless connection. Take a look at this KB to see how the cameras can be added: [https://community.tp-link.com/us/smart-home/kb/detail/412836](https://community.tp-link.com/us/smart-home/kb/detail/412836)
r/Tapo · TAPO H200 Yes, the firmware has started to rollout in waves. [Latest H200 Update Adding Dual Lens Camera Storage, 24/7 Capture Support and More! - Smart Home Community](https://community.tp-link.com/us/smart-home/forum/topic/869410?page=1) And I think that this is unavoidable for dual-lens cameras. Even for other brands, the lenses are treated as two separate cameras - meaning that (if applicable) they have separate RTSP streams and will appear as completely separate devices in platforms like Alexa, Google, or SmartThings. For your network, it does sound like it may be worth looking at the H500's large form storage...
r/Tapo · Tapo H200 network setup query It looks like your hub needs to be on a newer version. You can find your Hub's firmware updates here: [Download for Tapo H200 | TP-Link](https://www.tp-link.com/us/support/download/tapo-h200/#Firmware-Release-Notes) The most recent update for the H200 looks to be 1.7.1, and it is dated just a few weeks ago, that version is listed as adding that compatibility. Your camera looks up-to-date, though. Check for any available firmware updates for the hub and make sure that you have auto-update enabled on the hub. Unfortunately, it is a hub, so some of my other tips of resetting the device to try and trigger the update during setup are more difficult/not worth the effort. I would recommend contacting our support team directly or starting a ticket through the Tapo App's support system, as they may be able to help push the firmware to your hub.
r/Tapo · Tapo H200 -- older hardware version received from amazon --> returned The smaller 1.x version updates are usually only indicative of small manufacturing changes, such as location or chip availability, and can often be produced alongside each other. The wi-fi setup you are looking for is available to both, however, since the hub launched well before the feature was available, there are many still out there that do not have the feature out of the box and must first be updated. Honestly, it is very likely that there are both 1.0 and 1.6 models that require the update. Regarding the version in the App, when there are smaller changes - the devices tend to use the same firmware version, causing the app to report a different hardware version than reality. Always use the hardware version listed on the box and plug.
r/Tapo · Current Tapo Smart Hub (H200/H500) Compatible Camera List I think you will be surprised, we have plans for all of the above, and we showed off many of these at CES along with the upcoming hub and NVR For the H200, we have had it for a few years now and was originally used only for specific cameras. Since then, its feature set has expanded to allow a majority of Tapo cameras to record their clips directly to the SD card of the hub, rather than the camera's own SD Card. The H500 is long anticipated due to its ability to act as a faux-NVR and is releasing in just a few months time in the US once firmware and fixes are finalized. It just happens to share the same camera compatibility list with the H200s.

r/Tapo · TAPO H200 yeah, mine came through as well, so now I got 4/4 cameras doing 24/7 recording to the H200 (2x615F , 1xD130, 1xC720) Seems to work great so far. If you need more than 4 though, might want to look into the H500 which supports 16 cameras and you can also plug in a full hard drive for lots of storage space.

r/Tapo · TAPO H200 And they don’t do it now, I contacted support and nothing, we have to wait.
r/Tapo · Tapo H200 compatibility The H200 supports the C660 I have them both, but the H200 doesn’t support 24/7 recording feature, that only the H500 does. So you will have to just have it recording during an event detected.

r/Tapo · H500 vs Micro SD I’m starting to think maybe I should go with one H200 with a 256gb card and then a 128gb card in my fifth camera (2 outside and 3 inside). Theft isn’t a concern but the prices of SD cards have gone up and the ones I thought I could get for $20 are now sold out.

r/Tapo · H500 vs Micro SD It does only support four devices. Because of this, I actually own two. Because it's not that's dependent upon Wi-Fi and your experience less 2.4 interference issues, I have way more stability than I do going straight to the old SD card and reading it off the camera. I keep SD cards in the cameras for backup but I put a high-end SD card in my H200. Sunday I'll probably buy the H500 but it had so many bugs in it when it was first released I shunned it.

r/Tapo · Tapo better than Eufy? the hub is just to add the sensors, if I was you I would use the h200 instead of h100 it doesn't add ai features it connectés to battery cameras if you want on a special band to lower their power consumption just go and buy a camera alone to try it, it has all the features and doesn't need a hub if you want facial recognition look at the 4K wired ones there is the C575D dual 4k that is coming soon and the solar version is C675D
r/Tapo · Tapo better than Eufy? you can get the H200 hub it's cheaper but It is limited to 4 cameras
r/Tapo · Setting up a security system you need the H200 or H500 hub to connect the cameras and everything else h100 can't do that

r/Tapo · H200 - can this play different chime (and different volume) for different devices? Yes, no problem. I use that feature on all my sensors. Different sounds for leaks, high humidity, doors open at night or doors open during the day. Make sure you also create a shortcut to silence the alarms when they go off! You want to be able to quickly silence an alarm. If you have an iphone or ipad, you can even create an apple shortcut and put it on your homescreen to silence your Tapo alarms. The Tapo app makes this very easy to do
r/Tapo · Help with T100 Smart Motion Sensors and smart bulbs working together You can buy e17 to e19 adapters. But then the bulb may stick out to far. Why not just purchase some e19 sockets and change your light fixture? The bulbs do not work directly with the hub. They need wifi to communicate. But they all work well together with the tapo app (including the hub). The lights need a good wifi signal to work. If the wifi signal is weak, they may not work reliably. You may want to try a different approach. I assume your lights have a wall light switch. Use standard e17 bulbs. Then change your light switch to a tapo smart switch. The tapo smart switch can be turned on with a simple automation in the tapo app when the motion detector detects something. Another option is to plug these lights into a tapo smart plug … and let the motion detector turn on the smart plug.

r/Tapo · Tapo h200 Yeah that won't work then to Use them with the H200 or even an H500 hub they have to be within wireless range of the hub.
r/Tapo · Tapo h200 The H200 can act as the primary or as the backup Wi-Fi network for the cameras. Once you have set up the hub on your router, you can control this in the Tapo App. The H200 can be connected via Wireless or wired, but I do recommend using it wired to the router. I have personally found that the connection is more consistent that way.

r/Tapo · Question about Tapo H200 hub You can have multiple H200 hubs on same network, on each camera you have option to choose specific hub for storing data. I currently have only one camera recording to hub all others locally and that camera and hub are in different floors connected to different access points on same network and it works. So I believe the camera and hub need not be in WiFi range, it uses LAN.

r/Tapo · Tapo H200 -- older hardware version received from amazon --> returned Apologies, You are indeed correct BUT it is region dependent. USA region has a hardware v1.0 and v1.6 EU/Asia regions have a hardware v1.0 only What region are you in? Apparently should still work on H200 v1.0 I still have my h200 from when I upgraded to H500 (love the facial recognition). I will check on mine today or tomorrow. Though if you are USA and want your h/w v1.6 go for it!
r/Tapo · Tapo H200 -- older hardware version received from amazon --> returned I have gone back to check tapo app. I can now see the confusion (see pic attached) 1. If there firmware supports it you can setup but Wi-Fi 2. Note this is firmware (software) not hardware So what you are looking for is the H200 that comes with the newer firmware. Thus in the belief that this will be more recent device, probably right. It does not change the hardware on the device as it is all firmware. https://preview.redd.it/74d400itmslg1.png?width=864&format=png&auto=webp&s=ccae504a7bf0ddf61487acabbd721c3760a0d62d
r/Tapo · Tapo H200 -- older hardware version received from amazon --> returned You've got yourself confused. The H200 has to be setup by Ethernet initially, after which you can switch to wifi. You cannot setup over Wi-Fi initially.

r/Tapo · US vs. EU devices, hubs and their cross-compatibility I see. Well, I don't really care about buying accessories just 2-3 cameras from the US. They are like half the price. And at least one of them isn't even available in India/UK. That's one of the only reason behind my interest in buying the US variants. But if Hub 500 isn't cross-compatible, odds of H200 seem even lower. Can I ask which cameras you have and if they are still working with the other Hub?

r/SecurityCamera · Security camera needed for my small house under 1k AUD please Tiene sentido.

r/TpLink · Tapo H200 hub is a mess Cześć.
