r/EufyCam · Eufy S340 SoloCam Detection Unfortunately, the S340 is still a battery camera, and one of the biggest downsides with many battery cams is delayed wake-up from sleep. That’s pretty common across the category. At this point, I’d probably consider replacing it with something that either: 1. Still has a battery, but also supports wired power for 24/7 continuous recording, or 2. Uses newer hardware that’s generally more responsive. If you want to stay within Eufy, the S4 Solar is probably the cream of the crop right now for the SoloCam lineup, although it’s definitely pricey. If you can run power to the camera using a long USB-C cable and a decent 5V/2A or 3A adapter, the newer E30 (2K) or E42 (4K) are also noticeably more responsive than the S340 simply because they’re based on newer tech. If you’re not tied specifically to Eufy, you could also look at brands like Tapo. That said, pretty much all battery cameras have some degree of delay or responsiveness issues. Battery cams are just inherently slower compared to wired systems. In your case, due to the nature of your concerns, I would spend the money to get something that definitely works well, so the S4 or E42 and run the wire if possible.

r/EufyCam · Eufy indoor cam E30 4K with WiFi 7 router - setup fails. OK, so I got both eufy E30 indoor cams working again. Good news: your eufy E30s are not broken, but you probably need your old router or maybe another WiFi 6 router to get them going again. Problem: I bought two E30 indoor cameras in November 2025 and everything worked as expected. Then I put them in the drawer for half a year. In the meantime, I exchanged my Wi-Fi 6 mesh routers for a Wi-Fi 7 router. I went from ASUS XT8 to ASUS BT8. When I wanted to use the cameras again, they were still in the app but offline and I could not get a connection to them. I reset them by pressing the sync button for 10 seconds, but then the problems started: - Sometimes they would connect via Bluetooth but wouldn’t load a Wi-Fi list - Sometimes they were easily reset - Sometimes they were in a reboot loop I realised it had something to do with the Wi-Fi because when restarting the routers, they would usually easily reset and fly through the Bluetooth connection and sometimes even just show a millisecond of the Wi-Fi list before going blank again. Solution: I had set up a dedicated IoT network on my Wi-Fi 7 BT8s. So I set up an identically named network with the same password on my Wi-Fi 6 XT8. I reset the cameras, which was easy because as soon as I set up a Wi-Fi with the old router the cameras booted normally and reset without a problem. I set them up to be connected via the router, not via HomeBase, and I was doing this all from my iPhone, which was also logged into the IoT WiFi network for the whole process. There was a firmware update (1.2.1.6 → 1.2.2.2), which probably didn’t do anything. The next step was to switch back to the new Wi-Fi 7 router. The camera would reconnect to the same network, which was the same on the old XT8 and the new BT8. The final step was to add the cameras to my HomeBase 3. This had to be done in the settings of the camera and via the upper left tile (Edge Connection or something similar), not via the little folder icon in the camera tile in the main dashboard. Thoughts and observations: As mentioned earlier, you can set them up in HomeKit (after resetting), but they only work as long as they are plugged in. Un- and replug them, and they are unresponsive again. The ASUS BT8 routers are based on a different chipset and the previous generation of XT8. They went from Broadcom to Mediatek. Maybe that is an issue somehow? I played around with a variety of other tips and tricks (turning off different features of the 2.4 network, setting bands, etc.), but they all did nothing. The only solution that worked was to use the old router to set up everything.

Same issue here, after three month in the drawer wanted to use them and since not connecting delete them from the app. Tried all of the things and it actually loaded the wifi selection one or two times but never go to fully setup. Rebooting router allows the cams to reboot properly and also being able to reset them. But either way it does not help. Two ASUS BT8 routers replaced two XT8 which worked fine always, so it is some kind of ASUS-Eufy issue.

The E30 is a great option but I like the S340 a little better because of the 3K resolution, spotlight, color night vision, and 8x zoom. Depending on your needs either is a fine choice. The solar panels work great at keeping them charged. I have mine paired with a HomeBase 3 and the cameras and videos load quickly.

(Eufy E30) The camera has a battery, so if there is a power cut, you'd lose continuous 24/7 recording, and it should fall back to event based recording. The same would be true if you used the solar panel. Unless you are expecting over months long power cuts then having solar panel in line with direct power is kinda redundant.

I was going to get the E30 Floodlight so the light is not a big deal, just wasn’t sure if I need the dual lens. 3K is great over 2K but the Frame rate on the 340 is 15 compared to 20 FPS on the E30. Supposedly the E30 can connect from a further distance due to a power amplifier.

I have devices (vacuum cleaner, WiFi speakers, smart device hubs etc.) connected to 2.4 GHz and working properly. And they are older than the E30, which baffles me. WiFi being a problem is my suspicion (Sonos speakers did not connect until Asus updated router firmware, for example), but maybe the cause is different. Idk. It's hopeless, but I hope that maybe someone on Reddit had similar issues and overcame them:)

I've given up, sent mine back and bought 350 - blitzed through the setup and it works beautifully. To me it's just mind boggling a company that makes really good products can produce such crappy ones too and loose reputation, possibly customers and maybe profit too. Shit happens, sure, but it should not happen in 3 out of 3 cases in my... case.

After the Bluetooth connection step (if it was successful) when camera tried to detect and list available WiFi networks (which it failed to do) the led blinked blue a couple of times then went off and then back on in purple and camera did the spin. That's a long way of me saying that it seems like mine did the same thing.

r/EufyCam · Just got the Solocam S220. Got a some questions. I have a few different solo cams. 2 S340 and 1 E30. Each one is different. 1 340 will show it's charging, but not show anything on the dashboard for a day or 2. The E30 shows all the power the panel is receiving. The 2nd 340 shows some data. The app says they won't charge until they're under 97%. All cams are maintaining 98%+ charge. Maybe give it a few days.

r/EufyCam · Indoor cam E30 dropped everything else Similar setup HB3 on WiFi connection with 4x S340 plus HB2 with 3x 2Cs and a door bell cam then added 2x E30 which only had issues going offline around 3AM. Both in different APs. Optimized the WiFi 7 mesh as much as possible and cut all advanced features but nothing helped. Eventually moved one of the E30 to the HomeBase 3 instead of direct WiFi and everything stabilized. Very rarely the other E30 might go offline but then comes back. Had case with Eufy and released and version 1.2.2.5 for the E30 to fix the issues but one of the cams doesn’t even update. Now they said will release a newer version to fix that
r/EufyCam · Eufy indoor cam E30 4K with WiFi 7 router - setup fails. Have two E30 cameras installed recently but only having issues with them. Dedicated IoT network on Asus AiMesh, optimized 2.4Ghz network for maximum compatibility, 29 other devices working just fine including other eufy cameras except for these two. One just returned from Service as it was stuck in a boot loop and was refusing to respond to the sync button after trying to change SSID. Afterwards could not get the Bluetooth pairing to work to exchange WiFi credentials, but managed to do it on another router. Then one goes offline and the other one which was offline for 3 days comes back online. Waiting now for eufy support but there is deficient something wrong with the firmware.

r/EufyCam · Notified for pet movement, but only sound alarm for human movement. Am I missing something? I can only find the option of “camera alarm” when I’m in the security settings. That goes off of all motion and I can’t find a way to just make it go off for human motion.

I’m trying to set each camera to the nearest deco as preferred to see if that will help. If you don’t mind, I have a few questions. Do you know how I can turn multi-bridge off temporarily? For my video doorbell and my S350 cameras, I have an option to turn it off when I go into the camera, general, WiFi connection. For the E30 cameras, this option is not available. Do you know how I can reserve an IP for the homebase? That’s not something I’m aware of.

r/EufyCam · Indoor cam E30 high pitch “chirping” sound…? I have the same issue with my e30. I complained and eufy sent me a replacement and it also has the same problem. I’ve tried changing all settings, multiple cables and power adapters but i can’t stop the chirping. I bought the camera as a baby monitor and it is basically useless. Not sure what to do, I might send it back again or try and get a refund.

r/eufy · I'm tired of blink. I’ve been pretty happy with the S340. I like that it does the auto tracking of people when spotted. I do feel like the image has gotten a little soft over time but I think that’s because I may have used Windex too many times to clean the outer lens and as I later found out it can be bad for that outer protective lens. The quality of my other cameras is really good, and coincidentally Windex was not used on them, so just remember to use water and a soft cloth. The E340 has worked well in the two or so years I’ve had it. I keep my porch light on overnight and the camera on the E340 is good enough with that porch light that I don’t have to use the night vision mode and can keep everything in color. The two issues I had/have: • The E340 has a pre-record setting that is supposed to include 4 seconds before motion is detected. It’s only for wired installs and when I tried this setting it kept causing the doorbell to disconnect from WiFi. I eventually just stopped using this feature. • Recently the doorbell shows perpetual charging icon. Before it would just show a plug symbol. But people started noticing the charging icon staying on and not going away. Even with new firmware I still only show it charging to 90%. The doorbell still works fine and it could be the battery needing replacement. • I have Google fiber with real world speeds of 900+ mbps up and down and yet sometimes the doorbell is a couple seconds to load. Or when someone rings the doorbell, the app can take about 4-5 seconds to show me the live footage. Two-way audio can be choppy or delayed too but honestly even my old Google Nest doorbell had choppy two-way. The Homebase 3 (S380) has worked well in connection with my cameras. I can expand the size with an SSD drive up to 16TB. I currently have a 1TB drive in and it gets me about three months of recording with one camera being 24/7. I did choose to not pair my indoor cameras with the HB3 as I found out that doing so causes you to lose access to certain features that come with particular indoor cameras. The main one being Privacy Mode where my E30 cams can turn off and spin around to face a wall. If I connect those to the HB3 then I lose Privacy mode ability. All footage is encrypted on the HB3 and even trying to read the SSD on a PC or laptop will just give you an error that the drive can’t be read. Good for privacy.

r/EufyCam · E30 versus S340 for Back Yard Wildlife Camera I have both, they’re essentially the same camera the S340 does have a split screen option, it does have multiple lenses. So if you want a smaller view, yet a top and bottom view like say the E340 doorbell, you can choose the S340, but if that’s not as important, save yourself a few bucks and go with the E30. Maybe consider the E42 also, it has red and blue lights that might actually do more to scare someone off than just say the presence of a camera…

Also on Asus AiMesh, though I get past bluetooth by pressing "heard a beep" then pressing sync for 2 seconds. However it fails to load wifi credentials. Have tried hotspotting and still no luck. This is the replacement unit. Hoping Eufy support will replace the replacement unit. Quality control for this indoor camera is unacceptable.

r/EufyCam · Thoughts on Solocam E30 I’ve seen a few people using the E30 and honestly it looks like a solid pick for the price. The pan/tilt + no subscription is a big plus. Just don’t expect the solar to be completely “hands off” — depending on placement you might still need to recharge occasionally. If you really want true 24/7 reliability, wired is still the safer option, but for flexibility the E30 makes a lot of sense.

My HB was connected via ethernet cable when the E30 was not connecting to WIFI. I have now switched the HB to WIFI connection and presto... I can connect the E30 to WIFI and still store on the HB.... Had to redo the doorbell setup though and no clue on the performance (speed of connecting), but for now, it seems to work.

First attempt was directly to HB and worked, but could not connect it to Wi-Fi. Reset the thing and in the setup connected to Wi-Fi first, which worked! But now can't get it to connect to the HB. For storage purposes I can add a micro-SD, but still... annoying glitch..

But for the mean time hold the sync button for a minute then let go hold it again for a minute repeat till you see the light come on , it will work for a day .

It can be mounted on ceilings with the standard mount and on walls and temporary attached to a variety of places because it has a standard 1/4 threaded mounting plate. The other models can only really be mounted on floating shelds or set down on something flat.

I was just wanting to compliment my existing fixed cams with some 360 pan tilt ones. For all intents and purposes the S340 seems like the better camera and I like the dual lenses but the lack of continuous recording is a real bummer compared to the E30/E42. The new S4 is off course the best of all worlds, solar, battery, and wired continuous recording but I don't want to pay $300 per camera, $100-125 per unit is probably the most I am willing to spend.

r/EufyCam · My E30 Eufy Cam always going offline in the evening Have 3 E30s, 2 with this offline problem - mostly evenings, but sometimes during the day also. Purchased in 9/25 and they were fine until 12/25 when the offline issues started cropping up. All are on firmware [1.2.0.2](http://1.2.0.2), no config or wifi changes on my end. Eufy replaced one under warranty, which is now working fine (still on 1.2.0.2). Submitted a warranty claim ticket for the 2nd defective camera recently and they are trying to push 1.2.0.7 to the unit to see if it helps. I'm skeptical. Have not tried the solar unplug fix, but never had a problem leaving solar plugged for over 2 months. Also, one of my E30s has never had a problem. Suspect something changed between the eufy cloud config and its interaction with the firmware in the E30, or there was a batch of E30s produced with faulty/different hardware. Or both.

r/EufyCam · Tapo C425 vs Eufy S220 Tapo: better app Eufy: better cameras I this case u also have some differences in the cameras, one has lights, the other doesn't..but one has solar panels (not good ones IMO). I bought 2 S220 for 85 euros, but sent them back for 2 E30 for 140. that has a revisited solar panel that helps avoiding delamination, plus they are 360 with motion tracking. If you don't have a strict budget, I would consider these.

They didn't need to cover much distance, so even 1080p would probably have been fine. They did a solid job of recording a whole lot of nothing, with just a single alert when a moth happened to fly in front of one. I did just order an E30 for their garage earlier today as well, though - it has to cover more space, and I figured the floodlight feature might come in handy. Between those, the outdoor solar floodlight cam, the doorbell cam, two of the fixed solar cams and two of the PTZ solar cams, I think I've hit the limit I can talk them into having. They already really hated the E220s, even when they are off and turned around, as they feel like they are being spied on. Go figure lol
r/EufyCam · C220 vs e220 vs e30 So, the C220 has a smaller Field of View than the other two (100° vs 125°). The E220 does not have privacy mode (where the camera physically covers its sensor), it just turns off the camera. The E220 is, I believe, the only one that has a speaker for two-way communication, the others just have a mic. The E220 is only Homebase compatible for storage, not AI/smart features (they list it as 'under review', but it's been "under review" for at least 2 years now...). The other two are fully Homebase compatible. The E30 is 4K, compared to 2K for the others, and has a spotlight for color night vision. ...I think that's it. They also have the S350, which has dual cams (1 wide-angle 4K, 1 3x optical/8X digital 2K), better tracking, and WiFi 6 (all the others are 2.4Ghz only).

It allows you to stream through the network rather than through the homebase itself, and it will use the network to backup its videos to the homebase. FYI. I have a new system and have not gotten to the point of checking the backups yet to see if they're there.

r/EufyCam · New to Eufy Question Multi bridge might solve the issue had does for a couple of our cameras, but I do find the system weights the preference of using the HB wifi too highly. One of our camera regularly refused to connect to our wifi which offered it a better connection. I reported it to Support, and not entirely sure if their engineers did do something but it now seems to be staying on our wifi now.

How do you get it to sync up to wifi instead? I know that, even though it does the pan and tilt, it will not automatically zoom in I have it in my garage to cover the width of a three car garage, which it works perfectly it tracks great but it will not zoom in now if you are using it during live observation, you can pinch and zoom in, but it will not automatically do that.

r/EufyCam · Why would my s3 pro constantly miss the postman on the way to the house I have many Eufy cams including S350s, E340, E220s, and E30s. I recently purchase three S3 Pros. The S3 Pro is the worst Eufy cam I owned. It´s so called lidar detection is a joke. I have turned sensivity on the S3Pro to max and it still sucks. I have a E30 pointing in the same direction and it performs much better. There have also been problems with the S3 Pro overloading my Homebase 3 and I installed. It seems to chew up a lot of CPU power and takes forever to load event clips. I also have an E2 Eufy tablet and even this slowed to a crawl with one S3Pro installed. The only way I could get some improvement was to turn of human recogniton on ALL cameras and put the S3Pro into 1080p mode recording. I think Eufy has a lot of software work to bring this to prime time. I actually put my other two S3 Pros in storage while we all wait for Eufy to optimize this piece of junk.

r/EufyCam · Help me understand homebase From my understanding the HB3 creates its own 2.4Ghz (hidden SSID) wifi, if the camera is too far the connection struggles... Now, The HB3 has 2 modes "Performance" and "Standard". "Performance" is stronger and goes further. Just be aware you now have 2 wifi's and they can **interfere** with each other. the HB3 can cause your smart home devices (plugs, lights, etc) to start losing connection or slow to respond. I have HB3 and 6 outdoor cameras (2 S340's, 3 S220's and 1 E30)... Only 1 S340 and 3 S220's are connected to the HB3 (**"Standard Mode"**) because of the interference to my House Wifi devices. This setup is working good for me... 4 cameras are quick to respond with HB3 connection and the other 2 cameras and my smart devices have good connection to house wifi and respond fast also. I don't need all the different AI features... no cars driving through my yard, no pets, no crying babies, just person and/or motion detection will do. I really think the HB3 may not be necessary... unless you need to save a few months of video. I'm just sayin

I bought them at the same time and they should have equal runtime on them. I’ve since had two replacements from Eufy and couldn’t get either of those paired to the Homebase3 or setup independently. All four are on their way back to them and I’m awaiting next steps (presumably another pair). I found with the replacements, they would go to a purple LED after initiating a scan for WiFi indicating they were initialising again. Were you getting the same thing?

All other cams work fine; multiple E220s, S330, S340, S350 and an E340 all function. Like 16 cams over 2 properties. The E30s are completely krangled and to boot refuse to multibridge to any of my 4 2.4Ghz capable networks. I hate them.

r/EufyCam · Indoor Cams: E30 vs S350 I have both and have completely replaced my 350s with the e30. Like the other comment said the zoom lens on the 350 is unneeded in an indoor camera. And I believe when you have it set up in dual mode it lowers resolution from 4k to 2k. So the 350 is only 4k when view mode is set to single not dual. The major problem I had was a couple of my 350s were mounted upside down and every few days they would drift from the preset position and be viewing the ceiling. The 350s I had not mounted upside down had no issues with drifting off from the preset position. I now have the e30s which I got from Amazon in the US on sale for 49.99 and have had no issues with them in any way. I’ve had them for a few months and am completely satisfied with performance and image quality.

The S350 has dual zoom camera setup but I personally think its unnecessary for indoors so I've never used it. I have the S350 and honestly I would have gone with the E30 if it was available at the time of purchase to save some money.

r/eufy · I've gone a bit Eufy mad. It kind of depends what you need really. Are you looking at cameras for outdoors, indoors, or a mix? Will they be in direct sunlight and/or have access to mains power? The S3 Pro's are the best of the cameras I have. They have built in solar panels so depending on their position and how much movement happens in front of them, they can never need charging. However, if you have access to keep them plugged in, they can record 24/7 rather than only recording when they detect movement. But they have a great mix of cameras, so you could for example have a couple of S3 Pros or S330s outside, then have some E30's or even 2C's inside. You can get these great stands for the 2C cameras which allow you to place them wherever you want indoors. giving you cameras indoors with super long battery life that don't need to be near a plug. You can then set them to geofenced, so the indoor ones only become active when you're not there, which makes the batteries last even longer (and helps protect your privacy). However, if you do want them indoors and have them near plugs, the E30's not only have pan and tilt to follow motion, they also have a privacy mode where when you're there, not only will they not record, but they'll actively turn the camera to face the wall and turn off, then automatically turn on when you leave.

So today I took down one of my Eufy S340's and reset it not using the 380 home base and went directly thru my wifi and the camera works fine. Still not sure if its a home base issue or s340 issue however I thinks its a S340 issue because my E42 and E30 playback and work normally thru the homebase. I'll think hard before I replace any of my camera's with Eufy again. Hopefully someone from Eufy reads these posts.
