Here is the reason why. dang that makes me want to swap out my e340 even though its wired, does the s330 use mechanical doorbell chime and is compatible with the hb3? They look about identical feature wise to me especially since I dont use the color night vision.

Not sure about chime. If you're happy with the E340 then I wouldn't bother swapping, but I'm willing to bet the S330 is much more responsive when it comes to launching live feeds & notifications.

r/EufyCam · Anyone having outage/downtime? I'm in UK and for me it's down. I can't view live feed of my e340 or indoorcam2k. I have a HB3 which I can't view any clips stored on their either, so even though my clips are stored locally - I can't view them over LAN, there is still reliance on cloud apparently...

r/EufyCam · Update after testing Eufy. My kit started like that perfect zero false alarms, i have a few of the cameras and the E340. It captured everything but after a few months I was getting false alarms for car lights passing nowhere near my zones, for people walking past the house again nowhere near my zones, i believe i have finally solved this but now my cameras don’t detect stuff. For example yesterday I left for work at 9.40am my camera picked me up. Partner went out at 11.30 and was loading the car, was in and out 4/5 times didn’t pick her up. We then had a delivery at around 3pm from amazon didn’t pick the driver up. At 6.30 I got home and went back out to the shop. It picked me up coming home but not going out or coming back. At 8pm partner got home didn’t show her up. I’ve given up now I’m on my 3rd doorbell, Eufy have replaced 2 due to issues. Support cant seem to understand why it misses things. Oh and to top it off I have had to turn off the parcel guard as any snow, leaf etc sets it off and causes it to spam notifications.

r/EufyCam · eufy S220 Doorbell Battery Life I’ve been testing today and balanced surveillance missed notifications 3 out of 7 times. I’m impressed that your brother’s battery lasted over a month with that detection rate though. I wonder if it’s because it’s not the dual camera version like I have.

r/EufyCam · I don't have a junction box for E30 Floodlight cam... anyone used one of these plug in boxes? The plastic mounting plate that comes with the floodlight already serves this function. You just need to buy an outdoor extension cord, cut the end off, and wire the cut end into the camera. I have two E340's wired this way and they work. I got the E30 a few weeks ago as it’s on offer via Eufy site and has not long since been available in the UK. I was looking at getting one via an online store that imports them and sells at roughly the same full cost that Eufy sells than for then eufy released in the UK. £149 down to £99 and the E340 is £219 down to £189. Sale is still on .
r/EufyCam · Eufy floodlight E30 or E340 for narrow walkway? It’s only about 4 feet wide. E340 has bigger vertical range but not sure if this placement will work. I’ve just got the E30 and it’s still gets to the bottom of my garden. If you want 3K then the E340 is the option. My camera is roughly the same height as the image shown. It also has 24hour recording should you want that.

r/eufy · I'm tired of blink. I’ve been pretty happy with the S340. I like that it does the auto tracking of people when spotted. I do feel like the image has gotten a little soft over time but I think that’s because I may have used Windex too many times to clean the outer lens and as I later found out it can be bad for that outer protective lens. The quality of my other cameras is really good, and coincidentally Windex was not used on them, so just remember to use water and a soft cloth. The E340 has worked well in the two or so years I’ve had it. I keep my porch light on overnight and the camera on the E340 is good enough with that porch light that I don’t have to use the night vision mode and can keep everything in color. The two issues I had/have: • The E340 has a pre-record setting that is supposed to include 4 seconds before motion is detected. It’s only for wired installs and when I tried this setting it kept causing the doorbell to disconnect from WiFi. I eventually just stopped using this feature. • Recently the doorbell shows perpetual charging icon. Before it would just show a plug symbol. But people started noticing the charging icon staying on and not going away. Even with new firmware I still only show it charging to 90%. The doorbell still works fine and it could be the battery needing replacement. • I have Google fiber with real world speeds of 900+ mbps up and down and yet sometimes the doorbell is a couple seconds to load. Or when someone rings the doorbell, the app can take about 4-5 seconds to show me the live footage. Two-way audio can be choppy or delayed too but honestly even my old Google Nest doorbell had choppy two-way. The Homebase 3 (S380) has worked well in connection with my cameras. I can expand the size with an SSD drive up to 16TB. I currently have a 1TB drive in and it gets me about three months of recording with one camera being 24/7. I did choose to not pair my indoor cameras with the HB3 as I found out that doing so causes you to lose access to certain features that come with particular indoor cameras. The main one being Privacy Mode where my E30 cams can turn off and spin around to face a wall. If I connect those to the HB3 then I lose Privacy mode ability. All footage is encrypted on the HB3 and even trying to read the SSD on a PC or laptop will just give you an error that the drive can’t be read. Good for privacy.
r/eufy · Confused - need help replacing Ring [This is the E340 and Homebase 3](https://a.co/d/20Y4FSj) bundle. I have both. Here are some features: - Local storage on Homebase 3. Storage can be expanded with an SSD drive up to 16TB. - Homebase 3 has option to act as indoor chime. - Get package delivery alerts and when packages are picked up. - Can also have any Alexa devices ring - connecting the doorbell to HB3 gives you the facial recognition feature if you want to implement it but you don’t have to. Some cons that come to me: - Supposedly the doorbell has Holiday chimes like you’d get on Ring or Nest doorbells but I’ve yet to actually find a way to turn them on. There’s no setting in the app. For now I just have a couple of Alexa speakers do the Holiday sounds. - Mine is wired through existing doorbell wire but it is recommended to have at least a 24v transformer so if you hook it up and no green plug symbol shows up in the app then you may need to update your doorbell transformer. - Multiple Eufy cameras can be incorporated into the Homebase 3 for local storage but one downside is that the app treat these cameras as apart of the Homebase 3. What this means is if you want a certain camera to only turn on at certain times then you must not connect it to the Homebase 3. Of course this will defeat having the footage stored separately from the camera. For this reason all of my outdoor cameras are connected to the HB3 in case someone steals them, but my indoor cameras are treated separately so I can have that separate scheduling. Overall I’ve been very happy with my Eufy cams and the Homebase 3. Oh and for indoor chime you can have both the HB3 ring together with any Alexa devices you have. They also offer separate plug in chimes that I believe can also be added in conjunction with the HB3 chime but I’ve yet to look into it to see if that actually works. As for the E340 it’s been pretty good. I was having connectivity issues early on but it was a combination of getting the right transformer and a better WiFi router, though the latter was giving me issues with other devices as well, not just the doorbell. I have gotten some false positives on package delivery alert but it’s such a small sample size compared to the successful alerts.

r/EufyCam · Solocam s340 I have an e340 for the front of my house. I have cars driving down ky block, neighbors parking \ leaving, and people walking up \ down my block. As mentioned, setup detection zones if you don't want every single thing recorded e.g. only when something come into your yard. My display beeps a lot during the day and less at night especially late at night. The only thing I wish is if the AI could ignore cars just driving through the block (well, unless they're doing 50 mph!) and only record when they slow down and stop (people getting in\out), or parking etc. I'd def want it to record a "fast stop" like a car crashing into a parked car etc., which happened years ago after a bad ice storm, etc.

r/Tapo · Tapo better than Eufy? 𝗬𝗲𝘀! 𝗧𝗮𝗽𝗼 𝗱𝗼𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘄𝗮𝗻𝘁! I once purchased an Anker Eufy Doorbell camera (E340 2k FHD Doorbell Camera) and it sucked, it wouldn't connect, had bad image, and was laggy, felt like old tech. We fancied a change as we already had a few Tapo's. Within a day the Eufy was sent back. In normal us fashion we got a Tapo, it connected like Velcro, flawless, fast, good image, easy. We now use it and purchased about 7 or more Tapo products since that. A few things annoy me about Tapo, like C560WS-1.0, the quality isn't up to standards, and the mic. Though all over, Tapo is a big upgrade from something like eufy, Tapo just works.

r/EufyCam · Has anyone experienced S340 going offline for no reason? I had a brand new E340 with a new micro sd card that stop recording for several days I didn't notice because i didn't check the app I tried to restart it, didn't work I turn off the power, didn't work, then check memory card it say memory card needed fortmat in order to save video, I reformat the card and the camera worked again what happened? I don't know it was working right for a few days until it wasn't. It also when it was working right it was missing events I literally was looking out the window when someone walk by and I check the camera and wasn't even tracking or recording the event. I returned to the store and just bought some reolink I will have to run cables for those. Also after removing the micro sd card I can't even view the events that got save on the pc it immediately ask to formst the card, I guess that eufy doesn't use a known file format

r/EufyCam · Any Advice getting into the Eufy ecosystem? We’ve loved being in the ecosystem after experiences with two different brands beforehand. We’ve actually expanded significant in the ecosystem because we did enjoy the initial camera products we had so much, and now we have smart locks on the doors, a vacuum, a smart scale, and a smart light (this last one was free, and while nice is definitely the lowest quality and the only one we wouldn’t “buy”). I’d agree with others that the hardwire products are always the “safest” bets for quality because batteries simply die, but I’ve found the charge life in normal conditions to be pretty decent. You can get away without the home base too but we personally enjoy the AI features from the cameras. The S340 and the floodlight variant (E340) are by far the best cams we have and we use regularly to watch our puppies play in the snow in the backyard, but they’re also genuinely great products. The “deals” they throw on their site genuinely can feel overwhelming and drive the “urgency” to purchase and I’d say to not feel it. Without seeing what they are currently, the best deals tend to come on the holidays so I’d expect them a bit better for Valentine’s Day if you can hold off, but the prices can be pretty good from Sam’s Club/Costco too and they sometimes run sales/bundle sales which are even better.

My E340 is hardwired and my S340 is just run off of the solar panel that came with it. There are also lots of motion detection settings that if not fine tuned the cameras won’t capture everything intended.

r/EufyCam · Eufy indoor cam E30 4K with WiFi 7 router - setup fails. I've gone through 5 E30s to get two that work intermittently. All other cams work fine; multiple E220s, S330, S340, S350 and an E340 all function. Like 16 cams over 2 properties. The E30s are completely krangled and to boot refuse to multibridge to any of my 4 2.4Ghz capable networks. I hate them.

r/EufyCam · Doorbell camera - which to choose? Is homebase 3 worth it? My experience with E340 connected to Homebase has been horrible! Connection drops suddenly and won't work after that. I've already replaced the doorbell once and it happened again. My recommendation is to choose a different company doorbell. I do use Eufy floodlight with Homebase and that's been working fine. I ended up buying a Google nest doorbell (no local storage sucks but having a reliable camera was more important for me).

All I can say is the E340 may be great for the battery swaps BUT the prior is 1000 % better for true detection. The swappable batteries run out so fast (<week) compared to the premium motion detection in the older dual doorbell lasting >month +. Without the radar the E340 get so any false motions it’s unbelievable they left it out of the newest model and I have no wires to keep charged. I set my E340 to lowest motion and set privacy+ zones to no avail. If any of your doorbells are near a street do not get the E340 get the prior w Radar…. longtime Eufy battery doorbell user here.

r/eufy · Eufy S340 Solocam in cold weather? My E340 doorbell cam did not survive the first canadian cold spell. Even though it was hooked up to 24V the unit is powered by the internal battery. The issue is that the battery does not recharge in cold weather and the unit shut off. Obtaining support from Eufy was like pulling teeth. Not Impressed and feel ripped off. When the unit did work it was grest but in -10 degrees C it crapped out.
