  To further clarify for everyone that's unaware of Reolink's recent vendetta against vertical field of view... Reolink's vertical field of view specs on their dual lens cameras haven't been accurate on multiple cameras in a row now, not since the Duo 2. Duo 3, 3V, Argus 4 Pro, Elite Floodlight, Elite XPro... all shorter than what the official specs say. We know this because I've compared those all side by side, and now Will has done the same with this new one. For example, the official specs say the Duo 3's vFOV is 55° and the Duo 2's is 60°. However, when you compare them side by side it's much more than just a 5° difference, it's more like a 15° difference. So either the Duo 2's specs were wrong all along or all these newer ones are wrong. They can't both be accurate. This one thing is my biggest gripe with Reolink these days. Between this and discontinuing all of their 75° vFOV cameras they seem to have forgotten how important vFOV is and it's very disheartening.

  Here is my wish list, ranked in order of how much I want them.... 1. A new POE/Wifi doorbell with a 2nd lens pointing downwards to see packages 2. For [this](https://i.imgur.com/FrQCjbU.png) camera we saw at IFA to hurry up and get here 3. FTP support on the RLN36 4. Get back to making cameras with good vertical fields of view. The biggest disappointment of 2024 for me was the abysmal vertical FOV of the Duo 3, 3V, and Argus 4 Pro. I still stand behind my claim that the specs they list for those cameras is about 10-15° larger than it is in reality. All you have to do is compare images of the Duo 3 to the Duo 2 like I did in my [review](https://www.reddit.com/r/reolinkcam/comments/1aqmsp0/duo_3_initial_thoughts_and_some_sample_images/). 5. A turret or dome CX camera with large FOV both horizontally and vertically. Something with a FOV like the 1240A or 520A-2.8mm.  6. Get back to making turret cameras in general. The last new turret model we had was the 1224A and that was over a year and a half ago. 7. In the mobile app stop forcing the doorbell models to be at the top of the NVR grid and much larger than the other cameras. I want my doorbell to be treated the same as the other cameras. Or at least give users the option. 8. A new updated Trackmix with improvements such as a higher resolution telephoto lens and the ability to zoom in further than the current one does. 9. A new 8MP+ battery Trackmix. I love mine, but it’s really falling behind the competition at only 4MP. 10. Since the standalone floodlight has been discontinued, I’d like to see a new version of it, and maybe even more models of lights in general (standalone wifi bulbs maybe?) 11. Spotlight on CX cameras: Please allow us to have it so that the spotlight **only** comes on when motion is detected, but be off at all other times. Like the CX410 was when it first came out. 12. Push interval for battery cameras 13. HDR on more cameras. Especially CX models, it should be required on them. The Argus 4 Pro really suffers from not having HDR. 14. No more reset buttons at the end of the pigtail cord. It should always be a pinhole button under the SD card cover like some of their cameras already do. While we’re at it, just stop putting a DC barrel jack on the POE cameras, no one uses it. 15. Tiny indoor cameras. Something about the size of Wyze cameras. They could just take the tiny camera module from the doorbell and put it in a different shell and I'd buy about 8 of them. 16. Apps for smart TVs and streaming devices: Roku, Android TV, Apple TV, etc. 17. 3D Zoom for all PTZ cameras. 18. To be able to hide unused NVR channels in desktop client (like you can in mobile app) 19. More home automation products like the canceled wifi smart plugs (I still use my two test plugs). Plugs, lights, motion sensors, contact sensors, etc. 20. Better precise navigation in the mobile app. Either double tap the edges of the screen to go forward/backward (like how Youtube does it) or at least buttons that let you skip forward/backward X number of seconds.

  Ooh I love these kind of posts. Hang on, let me get up on the pulpit lol... First thing I'll say is I can't speak much on the Pro camera since I haven't used one, but everything you said about it should be accurate. Second thing is... be aware of is the availability of the XPro. If you're in the US it's hard to say when it's going to be available. It was originally supposed to be October, then I was told *maybe* January. The maybe in there didn't instill confidence in me though. So who knows. I've had a test unit since April, so I'm not sure what the hold up is, but I can tell you it's a great camera. At least for me, because I have some ambient light in the form of a front door light and a few neighbors with the same. However, what's great about the XPro is that it's both IR **and** ColorX. It's the best of both worlds. So even if you don't have much lighting you still have the IR mode to fall back on. And it's much better IR than a non-CX camera because the 1/1.8" CX sensor helps with capturing more light even in IR mode. And you're right about the XPro's spotlights, I think they made them so weak because the camera doesn't need a lot of light. Again though, I have a front door light. It also might not be much of a deterrent. When I walk outside at night I often don't even notice that the XPro's spotlights came on. So the Floodlight model would definitely be more of a deterrent. In my case I use HomeAssistant to help me out there. When any of my front cameras detect a person then my front door light, which is smart, goes from the normal 30% brightness to 100% and some of my indoor smart lights come on as well. So I think I have the deterrent aspect nailed down. The only thing that I've been disappointed in with the XPro is that the image clarity isn't as good as it should be for a 16MP camera (technically an 8MP x2 camera). But even for an 8MP camera it's a bit disappointing, and I'll show you why... As an experiment I set my trash can in my driveway about 30ft away and had 4 different cameras set up. Oof. The XPro and the Duo 3 weren't much better than the 4MP CX410, and the 8MP CX810 was clearly much better than all of them. Theoretically the Duo 3 and XPro should be about the same as the CX810. Now like I said, this was a test unit I've had since April. It wouldn't surprise me if it's taking so long to come out because they're making changes to it. In fact, when I showed Reolink that 4-way comparison they seemed surprised and wanted me to send them all my original photos. So maybe that prompted some changes and the final release will be different. So between the XPro and the Floodlight, I think it comes down to whether you'd rather have more of a deterrent (Floodlight) or if you'd rather have a better night image (XPro). By the way, I do have the wifi version of the Elite Floodlight.   For 1, since you already have most of the front yard covered with the Floodlight I assume you just want a camera there to see the area right in front of the window right underneath it? If so, then you'd want a camera that has a large vertical FOV. Unfortunately they've discontinued all of their cameras that have 75° vFOV, so the best you can do now is a 1240A or 811A. For 4 you might want to get a 180° dual lens camera, since it looks like that will be your only camera in the back? I assume you're going to have 5 and 6 pointing towards the front of the house? If so, I'd want something that can see the entire back yard and that would have to be a 180° camera. A Duo 3, or another Elite Floodlight, or maybe even the new OMVI 3i which would give you 180° plus tracking.

  I do have to say that the single lens cameras seem to be accurate with their vertical FOV specs. It's only the dual lens cameras post-Duo 2 (Duo 3, 3V, A4P) that I think are inaccurate.

  I think I agree with everything you posted, particularly the vertical FOV, the Duo 2 is near perfect the "newer" Duo 3, Duo 2V, and Elite do not have sufficient vertical FOV. This is particularly evident if you have it mounted pointing down a little to try and catch people directly below it it will cut them off at the top. The Duo 2 is MUCH better in this regard FOV wise. I also noticed the detection delay you can actually see the camera has detected you as the IR sensors change but the lights take SEVERAL seconds to come on, most of the time if I am approaching from around the corner I am almost at the light before they come on. I am still really Happy with them however, I have two and the style, install, and general features are great. One additional one for me is that fact it is a WPA3 / WiFI 6 device that works with DFS channels.. One of the reasons I have avoided past WiFi Reolinks is the "WiFi5 dual mode" cameras could not connect to WPA3 or DFS.. Now I just need them to release a wifi 6 doorbell.

  CX410 is a color night vision camera, if you dont have the lights on and the whole area lit at night where you want to place it then it won't perform well at all. Duo 3 will work okay if you want to save money but I would go with Elite Floodlight PoE instead.

  Had nothing but problems with both of these. Moreso the Altas PT Ultra because it constantly would lose the default position I set it to and record nothing. Both were too slow to capture motion as it started but the 4 Pro being so wide, it at least got some of the person at the extremes. Also, if you're in an area that gets cold in the winter, they'll stop charging and die mid-season. My 4 Pro never woke back up after it got warm and sunny. So I have to climb up and get it. I returned the PT Ultra because it was so bad at everything so I don't know if it improved. Even tho only 2K, the Altas 2K is significantly better than the PT Ultra because it can manage 24hr pre-record and even continuous recording overnight and still get topped off if the panel is in direct sunlight during the day. Still has problems staying charged in the cold, but will turn itself back on if it charges back from depleted. Placed in the same location with the panel facing the same way, the PT ultra constantly died for me. Exchanged and same result. But overall, if you can do wired POE, do that instead. The Duo 2 still has much taller vertical view than the Argus 4 Pro and even the Duo 3. I prefer the CX410 POE for Color X, but happy enough with Altas 2K in areas I can't run wire.

  All default settings, and all built—in lights are off. Duo 3 doesn’t have ColorX sensors or lenses, the Floodlight and A4P have half as many pixels, so the pixels on their sensors are larger and thus let in more light than the Duo 3.

  It’s the WiFi/120v version, non CX, and lower res, which is why it looks grainier. There’s not much light out front, but it’s still way better than the Duo 3. The Elite WiFi non-floodlight is basically the same.

  A very superb review as always, appreciate the thoroughness. I agree with all the conclusions. I even have a DUO 3 sitting on a shelf since I prefer DUO2 over it due that vertical FOV. It's my number one issue with all the newer duo cams and don't see myself swapping out DUO2 anytime soon (keep fingers crossed thunder won't take it down now lol)

  I just installed 4 180° cameras, Elite Floodlight x2 and Duo 3 x2, plus Doorbell, all PoE. It works well for my house. I have a lot of trees and shrubs that would block individual cameras so getting good coverage was important. I have the floodlights in the front and back and Duo 3 on the side. The front and back are the most vulnerable at my house, but I wanted to make sure the sides were well covered. Initially, I was going to install bullet cameras at each viewpoint, but that would’ve been a mess to install 8 cameras. I have the Duo 3s installed higher than what is probably recommended, but that way, I can see around the trees with one Duo 3.   When you bought these did they advertise 60 degree field of view. Spec sheet now says 53.8 degrees on Reolink site. Wondering if they corrected it after you purchased them? Also, the PCT16 seems like it’s basically the Duo 3 with a chasis/body change into a maybe better looking form factor and a Pro label so they can charge more. The specs seem awfully similar to each other for one to cost $100 more or I missing something? And while the EliteX Pro at least has ColorX sensor it looks like an alien and the mounting options appear somewhat limited. I guess I don’t understand why Reolink hasn’t done a better job with this dual lens concept because I feel like it would be a huge selling point for their entire ecosystem if it was done right. It just seems like this is the area to out the research and development.

  Depending how high you mount cam, it's angle, and how big the yard there may be some area not covered where you could mount another cam. The Duos have a little fisheye affect, the edges tend to bend a little. Heres's my Duo 2. I wanted view of street but can't see the whole garage doors.
