Main issue for me is the constant raising of prices... It's every year now

The cameras work great with a subscription and no base station. Base station allows local storage and the camera recordings come in horribly with pixelation, freezes, green screening quality issues.. Arlo stopped investing in their base stations because it will drive more people towards a monthly subscription. If you read around, for the past 3-5 years it's been a common theme with anyone who uses a base station, the cameras don't work with them.

I have multiple accounts, which includes two subscriptions. Both subscriptions are using the old app and paying for unlimited cameras. I have shared access with another master account also using the old app to see all cameras in the well-designed "devices view" which is not available with the new app. That view gives me the ability quickly to see the last status of 40+ cameras on one scrollable page. That view also provides a quick link to recorded history. I currently have 42 cameras operating, mostly Pro 4 and some Pro 2 cameras that are still operating with 7-day free storage. I have had no meaningful problems with the cameras other than the IV filter sticking with two of the Pro 4 cameras. In fact, quite the opposite under some adverse weather conditions. Almost indestructible. BUT: The other day I made the critical error of stupidly clicking the upgrade option on the master account, which they make almost impossible to ignore. What a disaster! Such an unfriendly user interface with the total loss of a comparable "device view". I complained once on this forum naively thinking someone at ARLO would take notice and care and maybe respond. Nothing! They don't care a whit. Obviously, it will be costly and hugely time consuming to replace my network of cameras, but I feel I' being forced to do it.

I have 5 pro4 cameras. They don’t operate when it’s cold out ( below 15 degrees). They do go offline often and need to be reset by pulling the battery and reinserting. The current monthly fee is not worth it and I’m on my last year with them now.

Was there a noticeable difference from the 4 to the 6? Its advertised as same resolution. Can't believe it's still the same.

In app on top right there is a plus icon to add camera. When you take camera out of protective casing. Once on that screen in app there is a tiny button you need to press and hold this button to start synching it in the app. It should walk you through syncing everything in app when you go to add camera

OP if you well acknowledge the subscription model, pricing, potential future raised pricing, future support challenges, and changing Terms of Service, then sure— go for it For myself and many others alike, we bought into this system with the marketing that cloud storage would be free or a certain rate. Much like any subscription service though, we knew it was a matter of time the prices would be jacked up. No long established business model in modern time would turn down a way to make recurring revenue since the model has shown that people are willing to pay for it. You’ll hear more negative experiences on this sub compared to positive ones. So your confirmation bias may be screwed based on your ongoing experiences. I will say from my experience: I’m a Pro2 user since roughly 2017. My version was marketed with free rolling cloud storage. I never bought into their subscription model since I didn’t need to. Since the various updates in firmware, app, and user base growth.. my experience has changed but overall I had minimal issues. I’m grateful to still use this hardware after nearly 8 years compared to other general electronics in this day and age. I fear the day I will have to switch to a new system. The reason I bought into Arlo was because of the wireless capabilities and quick opportunity to install without wiring (helps if you live in an apartment and move around). I also want to note that I never update the firmware or app unless I absolutely forced to. So far, relatively no issues

I got 4 Pro cameras. 3 outside all on solar panels. After a few phone calls to tech support we finally worked out the problems after the updated app. I'm not crazy about the new app but things are working and that's fine with me.

Not only the constant increase in cloud subscription, but also migrating features to higher tier subscription, so it's a double whammy. As you might guess, I have canceled Arlo, deleted my account and moved to eufy in the last 2 months. I felt like a sucker because they treated me like one with their pricing strategies.

If you canceled Netflix because the kept increasing fees, run while you still can. The cams are great on their own, pic quality is excellent. Fees creep up yearly and basic features get thrown behind a paywall with every new update. My tipping point is when I had a break in and the attacker used a $20 wifi jammer to render the entire system useless. That was the last straw, $1500 down the drain. I was pissed when I learned that its not a real security system when push comes to shove, it just makes the owner feel good. The system works well for picking up random stuff that happens, but anyone with intent to do you harm can disable the system quickly without you knowing. Its not a "sophisticated crime ring" tactic either, its a legal item anyone can purchase for $20. The only porch pirates you will catch are the dumb ones. Upgrade to a wired setup from a different company if you bought this system for real security and not just a visual deterrent or home insurance credit

I’ve 3 Go and 3 Go2 The Go’s usually go offline, so I have to remove battery, do a factory reset, remove them from my account and try to add them again (there’s one that have never been able to be added). The other 3 Go2 have been offline a few times, and there was a 4th that was returned to Amazon because it was impossible to setup even when it was new Out Of The Box. Contacting to customer service was a waste of time. So, no, the problem is not the increasing fee or trying to remove the 7 days free cloud storage, the problem is the unreliability of a security system.
