r/EufyCam · Eufy HomeBase 3: Can I stop camera motion from triggering the alarm in Armed mode?

Hi, in the settings under "Smart" in the automation options, you can configure the camera (you can select which one) to also trigger an alarm sound or light when the Homebase alarm is triggered. You can choose between sound and light, sound only, or light only. We have the Homebase 3 and the S3 Pro, as well as door and motion sensors. This works very well. I have it set up this way in "Away" mode.

r/EufyCam · Eufy HomeBase 3: Can I stop camera motion from triggering the alarm in Armed mode?

Check the following. Go tot he Smart Tab in the app. You should see your HomeBase3 under Device Control. Tapping on that will bring you to the different Modes which you can set, eg Home, Away, Disarmed Etc. Each mode can be customized for what each device does. In your case, for the Away or Armed mode, you want to leave camera recording and notification on, the entry sensors should all have the HomeBase alarm ticked. Depending on the camera model, you may be able to activate Light Alarm for the camera, which should just make the lights flash.

    r/EufyCam · Eufy Security - very unstable

I have the HomeBase 3 and the E340 doorbell and a few SoloCams. In the beginning I had some P2P errors with the doorbell and HomeBase and filled out a support ticket. The ticket asked me to change some settings in my router and it worked. Otherwise my system has been working perfectly fine since. I have a Samsung 870 EVO 1TB SSD in the HomeBase. Below is the response from eufy support that fixed my HomeBase and doorbell issue. **Router Settings**: Ensure that DHCP is enabled on your router. Open the following ports on your router: TCP: 12306, 12308 UDP: 32099, 32100, 32101, 32102, 32132 If you have a firewall enabled, try temporarily disabling it to see if it resolves the issue.

    r/EufyCam · Which camera - S330 vs. S340

I only have the S340 and am very happy with it. I’m really satisfied with my whole eufy setup which is a HomeBase 3, E340 doorbell, S340 SoloCam, and E30 SoloCam.

r/EufyCam · Any Advice getting into the Eufy ecosystem?

I’ve been very happy with my switch from Ring to eufy. I have the S340 SoloCam, E30 SoloCam, E340 doorbell, HomeBase 3. I am glad I got the HomeBase because of the extra storage space, videos all in one location, it’s very fast at loading videos and cameras, and the extra AI tracking like Cross-Camera tracking. And from my experience the HomeBase WiFi sends out a stronger signal to my cameras vs. my home WiFi. Every system has its pro and cons but I haven’t had any issues with my eufy setup and love the no subscription model.

r/EufyCam · Help me choose: S220 (with HomeBase 3) vs SoloCam E30 (with HomeBase 2)

Any package with the HomeBase 3 is in my opinion the way to go. It has the latest technology and is compatible with the newer cameras. The HomeBase 2 is getting outdated. I use all of the new features in the HomeBase 3 like human recognition, vehicle detection, cross-camera tracking, expandable storage space and a strong WiFi connection to all of the cameras.

    r/EufyCam · How's your EUFY experience?

I have 31 cameras (really!) and my system went from great to pure sh*t as it grew. Up until recently I was totally prepared to write the whole thing off, even though all the time and money had been spent. Eufy folks were friendly but absolutely clueless. After much research and experimentation and use of Perplexity and Claude and Youtube, I learned that my Deco mesh router was the culprit along with 3 Homebase 3 boxes. Removed HB3's, replaced mesh with TPLink Omada structured AP network, and I am TOTALLY, ONE THOUSAND PERCENT GOOD TO GO, with instant live views, zero dropped notifications, and extremely smooth operation. Bottom line = get your network fixed and all will be well. Eufy HB3 is EVIL due to hidden wifi 2.4 GHz use interfering. Use wifi which can be set to multiple nonoverlapping channels 1,6, and 11.

r/EufyCam · Eufy detectives help me out...

Detective conclusions from a 4 year ownership of Deco mesh and 32 cameras with 2 doorbells and 3 Homebase 3s and 1 Home Base 2: Dump the Deco mesh and many issues will suddenly disappear. Unplug HB3s. They really corrupt 2.4 GHZ WiFi. Pair all devices to WiFi. Notifications will finally work quickly and reliably. Live video will stream without issues. Alexa will quickly show all cameras on Fire Fire TV and Show devices such as tablets, sticks, cubes. Spread your AP channel assignments to 1,6, and 11, these are (the only) non-overlapping channels and use microSD for all storage. Homebase 3's are toxic POS.....

New user as well, and had it for a few weeks. Got home base 3 and E340 door bell. So far it’s been doing what’s it’s supposed to do. I think the home base is a good idea in the event someone decides to steal or damage the doorbell camera. You would still have back up. The 16 GB that comes with should be enough for most people unless you have lot of activity.

I have an S340, Solocam E30, 2 Solocam S220s, and an E340 doorbell, they are all attached to the Homebase 3. I only kept the Homebase because my E30 and 1 Indoor cam are 24/7 Recording. Yes some alerts are delayed, yes sometimes video is slow to load. I still keep it though as it helps increase my storage.

r/EufyCam · HomeBase 3 + S3 Pro setup – Adding Motion Sensors & Sirens to fix false alarms and improve night security

You can switch off the alarm for the cameras when they pick up motion and setup an automation so when the Homebase alarm goes off it sets off the camera alarms. You can also setup a part arm system so ie downstairs is armed and will activate any siren also. I’ve got my camera sirens off on motion but set to go off on the Homebase alarm. https://preview.redd.it/wfc3iwdcegjg1.jpeg?width=1179&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=95d30cf76ebc6a436ba73b8d680af9ffd42cff99

The Homebase 2 is an old product replaced by the Homebase 3 so if a product works with the Homebase 2 it works with the Homebase 3. HomeKit has never been fully supported across all devices that’s where you do your research before you purchase if you want HomeKit support. As for not user friendly that’s down to the individual as others will say the opposite.

r/EufyCam · Just got a eufy solocam s340, should I get homebase 3 ? Will it perform better with it?

I have mine turned off, the overheads for this feature isn't something you want on the HB3 if you have 4 or more cams, the processor simply isn't powerful enough and you will start to increase lower performance. If you only have 1 cam and you can get the HB3 cheap, then yes it will be good enough. You lose the onboard memory for the cam as recordings go straight to the HB3 which is 16GB memory.

r/EufyCam · Just got a eufy solocam s340, should I get homebase 3 ? Will it perform better with it?

HB3 is better, just be careful how much you pour into the EUFY ecosystem, I spent a bit more than I should have and am starting to regret it, for high traffic areas, they get pinged hard and use up the charge, I went form 100% down to 70% in 1 day, these are supposed to be 180 day charge cameras (S3 Pro). This also has an additional solar panel connected, the thing is we're in Autumn now so less sun, will be worse during winter, I bought a Reolink POE 2 cam setup that will do 24/7. So to answer you q, HB3 is better, I found much better response, you should never have more than 6 cams per homebase, I have HB2 and HB3, I use the HB2 for all the 2 cams, and the HB3 for all the 3 cams. I turn off all AI. If you have a low traffic area where you're not needing crucial recordings, a HB2 should be fine, if you want that extra certainty that you will get everything (the 3 does more than the 2 when it comes to AI) then the 3 is better. See how you go with the 2.

I would only do it if you are able to plug your HB3 in to an Ethernet cable, I tried mine for about 3 months without an Ethernet cable and it was a bad experience. Another thing that would fail to connect and when it fails then you can’t see any videos that are connected to the HB3. Found a spot where I could connect the HB3 to the Ethernet cable and it is much better at streaming.

Had Homebase 3 w E340 doorbell on it. Got the spinning circle whenever I brought up an event on my phone. Sometimes it would finally show, sometimes it wouldn't. Kept getting bricked Homebase with red light where the only solution was to reformat the SSD. I had wired my new house with cameras in mind so I hooked up my E41's via POE to the NVR. Then Eufy released the wireless connector for the NVR so I could connect my doorbell to the S4 NVR too (still only event driven, no 24/7.). Put my HB3 on a shelf and haven't had any problems since. But along the way I think I turned of end to end encryption. Event video usually pops up pretty quick now on old and new phones (Samsung). Notifications are a little slow, but no worse than other camera's I've had. I do 24/7 recording in 4k on all my cameras.

I’m running a UniFi setup with WiFi 7 Pro access points, and my HomeBase 3 is connected over Wi-Fi. I had to connect it via Ethernet for the initial setup, but after that I switched it to Wi-Fi without any issues. My setup: - HomeBase 3 with a 500 GB Samsung 870 EVO SATA SSD - 2× E40 cameras - 1× Indoor S350 One E40 is hardwired because it doesn't get enough sunlight for reliable solar charging. The other runs entirely on Wi-Fi and stays charged via its solar panel. After a month of use, I haven't experienced a single disconnect, dropped connection, or error. One feature I really like is that the wired E40 can record up to 4 seconds before the motion event is detected, which has been genuinely useful. I also recently picked up the Indoor S350, and I'm very impressed with it. The image quality is excellent, and the AI tracking works surprisingly well—it actually follows people smoothly instead of just being a marketing gimmick.

I actually thought it was just my camera that had a problem until I found the subreddit. I’ve tried updating manually, but there aren’t any updates available. At this point, I’m not sure a new camera would fix anything. It might even be the HomeBase 3 that’s at fault, since there was a brief moment when restarting the HomeBase actually brought the camera back for about 10 seconds, but it was only that one time. r/EufyCam · C220 vs e220 vs e30

HDD just because SSD prices are insane right now. AI Datacenter have driver memory prices through the roof. SSDs are 2-3x more expensive than they were this time last year. If I am going to run something hot (yes my HB3 gets really hot) I would rather trash a HDD which is half the price. I used to recommend SSDs because they were so cheap (very little performance difference in daily use) but at current prices, take the $50 1TB WD Blue or the $75 for a 2TB mechanical HDD. 2TB SSDs are almost $200 right now because of AI demand.

    r/EufyCam · C220 vs e220 vs e30

The local quality is definitely better than the streamed quality. Whether the MicroSD is better than the Homebase 3, I think they use the same compression. The Homebase makes alerts more responsive and easier to scrub through video. Also does less wear than the MicroSD which I got tired of replacing.

r/EufyCam · Is the Eufy app still good?

Yeah, honestly I started having issues with just 4 devices, I am up to 13 cameras. I don’t believe the issues are app related though. More so the fact I’m in a brick building with lots of neighbors many of which also have cameras, be it door bell or window cameras, there’s a lot of interference. The WiFi signal from the HB can be problematic. If you have an SSD in it (possibly with HDD as well) after a certain portion is filled the HB will sometimes stop seeing it, but a power cycle resolves it. One issue that may be app or HB related it shows 1.TBs used space of 2.04 (this is when it decided to seeing the drive sometimes once I hit that mark a couple months ago), a power cycle will get the correct storage used but it will revert right back to 1.55, soon after.

r/EufyCam · Is the Eufy app still good?

Similar issue as Knight said above. A few minutes delay on some cameras and one even upto 10 minutes. From reading Knights response, I would add that from what I can see, your home network does nothing on eufy camera when it works of home base because hb3 has its own hidden network that the camera connects to. So if the cameras are not close enough to HB, it will lag and feeds will be delayed. Currently I am fighting to find a sweet spot between all four of my cameras that doesn't cause one or another a delay. The multi-bridge wifi setting on the cameras is not good. I'm waiting on a wifi repeater (technically it is eufy's chime extender but it says in the description that it is a homebase wifi repeater) to see if that will help with my cameras once it amplifies my homebase signal. From what I have read online, having two homebases is better than one especially when you have connection issues. The additional homebase is expensive so I am trying the repeater first (CAD 50 on amazon). The app is not great. The thumbnails do not refresh on the dashboard, you have to click on them to load the camera to see an updated picture, which takes a minute or more to connect to the camera depending on the connection. My system is the Eufy Camera S3 pro bundle with the homebase3. I upgraded from wyse cameras a few days ago. All my eufy cameras are directly plugged into power.

    r/EufyCam · Eufy s220 with homebase vs s3 pro

I got my s3 pro and going through the set up. Some annoying things. First day, two cameras on record 24/7, few seconds delay on app, manageable. Added another two the next day, and one of the camera that was working ok on the first day is struggling and delayed by 10 mins. Adding all 4 camera 24/7 record seemed to overwhelmed home base. Waiting on a " eufy wifi repeater" to see if that fixes the issue. Also going to move the camera closer to the hombase. The camera struggles to connect to multibridge too time to time. But from reading online, a lot of people are suggesting getting another home base to cover it but gonna try the cheaper option with extender first. I would strongly recommend reading into this bit more before getting s3 pro, I wish i had.
