r/reolinkcam · If you are travelling THIS summer, would you consider taking MagiCam with you? Mine is recording to a Home Hub, so if I'm watching any recordings it's from that. I think you're underestimating AA batteries, especially lithium AA's. That combined with the newer more power efficient battery cameras. The newer ones that use the new Qualcomm chip are more power efficient than the older ones like the A3P: [https://www.reddit.com/r/reolinkcam/comments/1q77sk2/reolink\_powerefficient\_seriespowered\_by\_qualcomms/](https://www.reddit.com/r/reolinkcam/comments/1q77sk2/reolink_powerefficient_seriespowered_by_qualcomms/)
r/reolinkcam · Any reason not to reuse a USB-powered Argus? Sure, you could. Leaving them plugged in will kill the battery eventually, so don't plan on ever using them as battery cameras again in the future. Also, leaving battery devices plugged in 24/7 has always been a fire concern for me, I never leave any battery devices plugged in when I'm not home. I've never heard of that happening with any Reolink devices, but you never know. I don't know that the USB port on the NVR will provide enough power, I've never heard of anyone actually trying it. Personally, I would just use a regular old wall USB charging block.
r/reolinkcam · Nvr [https://support.reolink.com/hc/en-us/articles/360004441533-Can-I-Add-Reolink-Battery-powered-Cameras-to-Reolink-NVR/](https://support.reolink.com/hc/en-us/articles/360004441533-Can-I-Add-Reolink-Battery-powered-Cameras-to-Reolink-NVR/) Any of their current NVRs and Home Hubs can record their battery cameras. And unless your battery cameras are really old, they will support recording to the NVRs and Hubs. Check the list here for your camera hardware versions though, because there are versions of the 2E and Eco that are old enough that they don't support NVR/Hub recording: [https://support.reolink.com/hc/en-us/articles/900000602543-Comprehensive-Guide-to-Reolink-NVR-Hardware-Versions/](https://support.reolink.com/hc/en-us/articles/900000602543-Comprehensive-Guide-to-Reolink-NVR-Hardware-Versions/)
r/reolinkcam · Argus 3 pro and home hub Yeah, there's definitely newer firmware. I have that exact same hardware version and had them push new firmware to mine not long ago (V3.0.0.4019\_24090555). And it definitely works with the Hub with that firmware. They're based in Hong Kong and also don't work on the weekends, so I would guess that you'd probably hear back from them today or tomorrow.
r/reolinkcam · If you are travelling THIS summer, would you consider taking MagiCam with you? That's with about 10-15 recordings per day on average. Pretty typical usage. It's mounted to a tree in my yard. I had an Argus 3 Pro in that exact same spot for about a year and it also lasted about 3 weeks before needing to be recharged.
r/reolinkcam · If you are travelling THIS summer, would you consider taking MagiCam with you? You clearly haven't done any research on the Magicam. You seem to be disregarding it just because it uses AA's. Meanwhile I've been putting 2 of them through battery drain testing for a couple months. Rechargeable Ni-MH AA's have lasted about 3 weeks for me, and using lithium batteries I'm not sure how long it's going to last because it hasn't died yet. Right now the battery is at 82% after 5 weeks. For traveling I'd rather take the Magicam because it's smaller, and if my purpose is for leaving it in the hotel room while away, it's not going to be getting used very much or generating any alerts, so the battery draining isn't a concern. Plus if I plug it in I can do 24/7 recording. The Argus 3 Pro can't do that.
r/reolinkcam · Battery operated camera (Argus 3 Pro) to NVR (rln36) ? anyone success ? I don't have that specific HW version of the A3P, but I've done it with the 2 older HW versions. Their [support article](https://support.reolink.com/articles/900000602543-Comprehensive-Guide-to-Reolink-NVR-Hardware-Versions/) says your HW version is supported with NVRs, but it probably will need a FW upgrade. I assume your NVR is on FW 3.6.3.437\_25110427? That's the latest on their download center. What FW does the camera currently have? You don't really know if it's up to date because the in-app upgrade check will always say its up to date even if it isn't. The only true way to know what the most recent FW version is for a battery camera is to submit a support ticket to Reolink and ask. If there's a newer one they can push it to your camera. Also, you shouldn't need to add it via IP, the NVR should see it in the list of available devices when you go to add a device. Is it not showing there? This screen is what I'm talking about: [https://support-d.reolink.com/hc/article\_attachments/45595847461145.png](https://support-d.reolink.com/hc/article_attachments/45595847461145.png)
r/reolinkcam · Argus 3 pro overexposed images at night? Can you show an example of what you mean? It's hard to give any advice without seeing it. Usually if it happens when the object is close to the camera it's because the IR light is reflecting off the object and blinding the camera. But it doesn't make sense that it would happen even if the IR lights are off. If IR were the cause though, then a CX camera would maybe be a better choice. However, they need some other ambient light to work well, they aren't a good choice for a complete dark environment. >Is there a way to have it reliably continue recording while the subject remains in front of the camera? Or just extend the default recording period past 30 seconds? No, not without using something like HomeAssistant. Or a non-battery camera. If the animal keeps moving then it should keep recording, but if the animal stops moving then the PIR sensor might think that it's gone and stop recording.
r/reolinkcam · Proposed Setup Review First off, I would highly recommend visiting our pinned Welcome post and perusing the FAQ. Especially these entries that might pertain to your choices... Make sure you've considered everything here in regards to your camera choices: [Which cameras are the best, or which cameras should I buy?](https://www.reddit.com/r/reolinkcam/comments/133vod7/comment/jibhtuu/) Make sure you've considered the differences between Hubs and NVRs: [What is the difference between the Home Hubs and NVRs?](https://www.reddit.com/r/reolinkcam/comments/133vod7/comment/o2prjig/) Make sure you understand how battery cameras work and the inherit limitations: [Should I buy a battery/solar camera or a powered camera?](https://www.reddit.com/r/reolinkcam/comments/133vod7/comment/l0qkmdc/) Make sure you understand the environmental limitations of solar charging battery cameras: [Is your battery camera not being charged by the solar panel in the winter?](https://www.reddit.com/r/reolinkcam/comments/133vod7/comment/m6o2cdn/) >4 Argus 3 Pros - Mix of Interior/Exterior Battery cameras indoors raised my eyebrows. Will you really not have any power outlets nearby? Battery cameras should really only be used as an absolute last resort where there's zero options for power. Indoors usually means higher traffic, and you won't have a solar panel to charge them, so you'll likely be taking them down to charge them fairly often. >I am concerned about delayed notifications - especially from the doorbell - and would love to hear some input from current users on their experience. Notifications have always been pretty much instant for me, within a second or two of the event happening. However, the caveat to that is battery cameras. If you read that 3rd link you should now understand how battery cameras work and the fact that they can be delayed in waking up from sleep. >I'd also extend this to the live-feed views as that's one of my biggest gripes with Ring. Sometimes it can take 20+ seconds for the live feed to load My powered cameras always load within about a second, battery cameras a few seconds longer. If you're accessing them remotely that will add another few seconds to it, depending on the quality of your home upload connection and the connection on your phone. >Ideally, I'd use the native Reolink App but I'm not opposed to using Home Assistant if need be. I've heard HA is significantly better than the Reolink App Well, they're not really equivalent things. It's not one or the other. HA is more of a complimentary thing. Think automations, think added benefits like rich notifications (image thumbnails in the push notification). You might want to read these two threads for examples of what we use HA for. [https://www.reddit.com/r/reolinkcam/comments/1gl0ow0/homeassistant\_users\_i\_need\_ideas\_and\_inspiration/](https://www.reddit.com/r/reolinkcam/comments/1gl0ow0/homeassistant_users_i_need_ideas_and_inspiration/) [https://www.reddit.com/r/reolinkcam/comments/1k238is/elevate\_your\_smart\_home\_reolink\_cameras\_now/](https://www.reddit.com/r/reolinkcam/comments/1k238is/elevate_your_smart_home_reolink_cameras_now/) HA *could* replace the Reolink app in your daily workflow I guess, but it would take a lot of work in HA.
r/reolinkcam · Recharging questions I do, but it's connected to wiring, so it's always being charged that way, so I'm not sure. Again though I just want to emphasize that it can vary **greatly** depending on how much movement there is in front of it. I had an Argus 3 Pro in a different spot one year, a spot that got almost no movement in front of it, and it lasted 3 months, the whole winter. On the other hand, I've seen others have said they have to recharge every 1-2 weeks.
r/reolinkcam · Recharging questions Depends on how often their PIR sensor wakes them up, but my Argus 3 Pros last about 4-6 weeks and my Argus 4 Pro a week or so less than that. Is it practical? It depends on where you mount them and how hard they are to get to I guess. I have an A3P on a tree in my front yard and I just need a step stool to reach it, so it's not hard. I actually have a spare one, so when the one on the tree needs recharged I just swap them. Rinse and repeat several weeks later.
r/reolinkcam · Setting up Argus 3 Pro with a PoE NVR Just refer to the chart that ian provided and also make sure that your NVR has the latest firmware by going to the download center on their website (don't use the upgrade check in the app). >I've contacted support and they've said that if I connect it to the NVR, it won't be viewable in the app (by design apparently?). Either support misunderstood what you were asking or you misunderstood what they were saying. Yes, it will be viewable in the app, it will just be listed under the NVR like your other cameras. What they mean is that it will no longer be viewable as a standalone device. Unlike POE or plug-in wifi cameras, which can be viewable both under the NVR and also as a standalone device. >I would ideally want to avoid having to buy a separate memory card specifically for that one camera You should still have an SD card in the camera even if you have it added to the NVR. You shouldn't ever have your footage only stored in one place, especially with a wifi camera. It doesn't have to be a large card, I just use 32GB cards.
r/reolinkcam · Argus 3 pro / ultra solar panel question Ah ok, both of mine are micro-USB, but they're both a bit older.
r/reolinkcam · Argus 3 pro cameras not recording events at night and so few during the day That doesn't look too bad. It's hard to tell how high they are from your images, but as you saw in that article, the ideal height is 2-3m, so if yours is higher than that then that might have something to do with it. Seeing what the camera sees would help to troubleshoot it as well, but I'd understand if you don't want to share that. I know you said in another comment that you've adjusted sensitivities, but two things.... always start at the highest sensitivity settings and only go down from there if you're getting too many false alerts. And the other thing is, make sure you're also adjusting PIR sensitivity. Start with that at 100 as well. None of the other sensitivities matter if your object moving isn't triggering the PIR sensor. Think of it as the gateway to waking up the camera from sleep.
r/reolinkcam · Argus 3 pro cameras not recording events at night and so few during the day It's hard to offer any advice without seeing how you have it mounted and what its field of view is. Battery cameras use PIR sensors, so I'd suggest you read up on how PIR sensors work and how picky they are about positioning, angle, and distance: [https://support.reolink.com/hc/en-us/articles/360006379253-Installation/](https://support.reolink.com/hc/en-us/articles/360006379253-Installation/) This is why battery cameras should only be used as an absolute last resort where you have no possibility for power. I would never use one in an important location or as my sole or primary security camera.
r/reolinkcam · Argus 3 Pro Indoor Is there a reason you need it do be battery? If it's indoors I would assume you would have power nearby, and powered cameras are superior to battery. The Lumus is even smaller than the Argus 3. Oh, and what do you use for your home automation? The battery cameras typically don't work well (or at all) with 3rd party solutions.
r/reolinkcam · Nvr setup w/ Argus 3 Pro and Atlas PT Ultra? What firmware does the NVR have? What hardware versions are the battery cameras and what firmware do they currently have? I know you said they have the latest, but the in-app update doesn't work. And with battery cameras you often have to contact support to get the latest. NVR support of battery cameras is very new, so I'm guessing your battery cameras need the firmware that supports that. Also, I'm confused by this... >The nvr is obviously hard wired my vpn while the wireless cams are connected to an AP which is connected to a poe switch (which is in turn connected to the aforementioned vpn) VPN? Do you mean your router?
r/reolinkcam · Argus 3 pro and home hub What hardware version are they and what firmware do they have now? If you check for firmware in the app and it says there isn't an update then you'll have to submit a support ticket to them and they can push it out to you.
r/reolinkcam · Argus 3 pro / ultra solar panel question Not without using an adapter, and then you might have water intrusion issues. The Argus 3 Pro uses micro-USB and so does the original smaller solar panel. The Argus 3 Ultra uses USB-C and so does the newer larger solar panel 2.
r/reolinkcam · Extremely Terrible Argus 3 Pro/Ultra Battery Performance As a test have you tried using them without them being connected to the Home Hub? I wonder if that has something to do with it. Like you said, they're waking up every 15 minutes, I wonder if that's to check in with the Hub. That's certainly not typical though. It's been a while since I've run a camera without a solar panel, but a few years ago I did and with an Argus 3 Pro I made it all the way through a cold northern winter without having to recharge it for about 3 months. These days I use a battery Trackmix and have an Argus 3 Pro and an Argus PT Ultra at a relative's house, all with solar panels, and they very rarely drop below 100%. Sometimes in the winter when we can go 2 weeks without sun they'll drop to 85-90%.

r/reolinkcam · Argus 3 Pro/Home Hub Mini connection issues with Mesh system A wifi camera can connect either to the hub's ssid or your home network. In your case use your Deco's ssid. You probably connected the cameras directly to the hub. If so bring them back inside such they connect back to the hub. Then on the Reolink app, go into each camera and change their wifi parameters to use your Deco's ssid. You can then return the cameras back outside. You do not need to reset the cameras, just update the wifi details via the app. If you have no cameras left using the Hub's ssid then disable that network connect to hub using Reolink mobile app (must be mobile app) settings -> WiFi -> move sliders to the left to disable the 5G and 2.4G ssid's
r/reolinkcam · Argus 3 pro unable to upgrade firmware At this stage just leave the Home Hub powered off. Once the firmware upgrade has completed properly, only then consider connecting to the Home Hub.
r/reolinkcam · Argus 3 pro unable to upgrade firmware If the camera will not connect to either your home wifi or the wifi provided by your home hub that seems strange. But based on your comment that "the firmwarre upgrade looks ok" that implies it is/was on a wifi network of some variety. This explains the firmware levels required for hub compatibility [https://support.reolink.com/hc/en-us/articles/32379509281561-Reolink-Home-Hub-Compatibility/](https://support.reolink.com/hc/en-us/articles/32379509281561-Reolink-Home-Hub-Compatibility/) Initially I would ignore the home hub and if possible get the cameras working on your home wifi network. Did you follow the guidelines in this link? [https://support.reolink.com/hc/en-us/articles/12845968227097-How-to-Upgrade-the-Battery-powered-Cameras/](https://support.reolink.com/hc/en-us/articles/12845968227097-How-to-Upgrade-the-Battery-powered-Cameras/) The firmware for battery cameras is not available for download from the website.
r/reolinkcam · Setting up Argus 3 Pro with a PoE NVR You can view the camera via the nvr using the desktop client or mobile app. If you have added the surveillance options on the nvr it should also be recording the events.
r/reolinkcam · Setting up Argus 3 Pro with a PoE NVR Ah, you mean not viewable as a standalone device. That's true, once a battery camera is connected to a nvr that's the only place it can be seen. [https://support.reolink.com/hc/en-us/articles/360004441533-Can-I-Add-Reolink-Battery-powered-Cameras-to-Reolink-NVR/](https://support.reolink.com/hc/en-us/articles/360004441533-Can-I-Add-Reolink-Battery-powered-Cameras-to-Reolink-NVR/) The key paragraph is After the battery-powered WiFi camera is added to the NVR, the NVR takes over, and the standalone access to this battery-powered WiFi camera through the App/Client is no longer possible. If standalone access is needed, a hard reset of the camera is required.
r/reolinkcam · Setting up Argus 3 Pro with a PoE NVR It depends on your nvr and the the Argus 3 being compatible, refer to link below [https://support.reolink.com/hc/en-us/articles/900000602543-Comprehensive-Guide-to-Reolink-NVR-Hardware-Versions/](https://support.reolink.com/hc/en-us/articles/900000602543-Comprehensive-Guide-to-Reolink-NVR-Hardware-Versions/) If all matches up you should be able to record back to the nvr. Note that timed recording is not supported.
r/reolinkcam · Powering WiFi Camera Outside Some battery/solar cameras are compatible with current nvr models. [https://support.reolink.com/hc/en-us/articles/900000602543-Comprehensive-Guide-to-Reolink-NVR-Hardware-Versions/](https://support.reolink.com/hc/en-us/articles/900000602543-Comprehensive-Guide-to-Reolink-NVR-Hardware-Versions/) You do not require a wifi enabled nvr to support wifi cameras nor for that matter a poe enabled nvr to support poe cameras. Any of the nvr or home hub models support poe or wifi cameras. If you have a viable home wifi with mesh or secondary access points that can be use to connect a wifi camera and would probably provide better coverage than that put out by the RLN12W or a home hub. If you are using plug-in wifi cameras those come with a power brick that normally puts out 5V or 12V depending on the camera. The 810WA would be 12V 2A and that power brick needs to be properly protected from the elements. So yes, you would require a weatherproof outlet or if you can place the power supply inside and run a 12V extension cable to the camera. Many of the camera do come with a suitable cable but they can be sourced via Amazon/ebay as well. If you do go down the battery route, note that they have severe limitations such as no timed/continuous recording with the exception of the Altas which supports up to 96 hours off a single charge. Even the Altas requires a very sunny location to maintain pure battery/solar operation, if you live in an area subject to temps below 2C or similar it would not charge during these times.
r/reolinkcam · Reolink Argus 3 Pro questions The Reolink app uses port 9000 and a private protocol. If you want to read up on the details [https://www.thirtythreeforty.net/posts/2020/05/hacking-reolink-cameras-for-fun-and-profit/](https://www.thirtythreeforty.net/posts/2020/05/hacking-reolink-cameras-for-fun-and-profit/) I believe battery cameras use this protocol exclusively

r/reolinkcam · Any reason not to reuse a USB-powered Argus? Sure, use your cams inside if you want. I have three Reolink E1 cams inside but only set them to detect/record when I've gone from home overnight. Reolink battery cams won't charge well with fast chargers, Reolonk recommends slow trickle 5V 2A chargers. I don't know if USB port on NVR can be used as a charger, haven't heard of that. Some Reolink NVRs support battery cams, some don't.
r/reolinkcam · Argus 3 Pro status light flashing every 20 seconds I found this prior post. I keep the status light off. It just drains the battery a little in my opinon. The reason one is doing it and the other one not may be one has a weaker connection to your router. [https://www.reddit.com/r/reolinkcam/comments/17gd2xo/reolink\_argus\_3\_pro\_sometimes\_the\_blue\_led\_lit/](https://www.reddit.com/r/reolinkcam/comments/17gd2xo/reolink_argus_3_pro_sometimes_the_blue_led_lit/)
r/reolinkcam · Argus 3 pro cameras not recording events at night and so few during the day Do you also have wire powered cams? The Argus 3 Pro is a battery cam and cannot record 24/7. It records only detected events. Are the cam IR lights turned on so they can see at night? Turn up the detection sensitivity if you haven't. Is the battery charged? Battery cams don't perform well when the battery is low. Generally battery cams can detect to about 25 feet during the day, less at night due to less light. Battery cams are not as reliable as wire powered cams. You could read how battery cams work and their limitations in the top post "welcome to the official..." You could also watch YouTube channel LifeHackster who reviews Reolink cams. He likely did a review of the cam models you have.
r/reolinkcam · Advice, two Argus pro 3 Event Trigger Cam or one Altas PT Ultra Continuous Recording Battery Cam? Two cams are always better than one in case of card or cam failure. Only a few models work with their cloud service. Be sure to check their list on the cloud page. It depends where you live.
r/reolinkcam · Argus 3 pro notifications If notification is turned on you should always get one each time the cam detects and records. You could try rebooting the cam, see if that helps, turn phone off/on to reboot the app. Battery cams are better than no cams at all but are inferior to wired cams, are not as reliable. Battery cams can sometimes record late or miss events. Read the top post "welcome to the official Reolink, lots of info, FAQs including a secton on what cams to buy comparing battery cams to wired cams.
r/reolinkcam · Argus 3 Pro It depends where you live what cameras are supported with Reolink cloud. If your cam is not listed for UK then it won't work with Reolink cloud. Other options are are sending pics free of events to an email account or FTP if your cam has that. There's instructions on Reolink support how to do these. If your cam has FTP you could set up an account with a server company and rent space to store recordings. Or buy the Reolink Hub or NVR to keep recordings in your house. Rather than just recording to card in camera it's a good idea to record somewhere else in case the card fails or the cam is stolen.

r/reolinkcam · Switching Arlo and have a few questions 1. Of course you can view the event history bot locally and remotely. You have have a filter criteria too. Note that once the camera is connected to the HHP then the only way to see it is through the HHP. 2. You have the the scene modes with three configured scenes and you can add a further three. You can disarm, arm, etc. However, there is not yet the schedule and subsequently you need to re-arm again. We have asked for a status and a scheduler (say re-arm after 60 min). 3. If your home WIFI is strong at the location of the cameras then it is recommended to use it rather than the WIFI provided by the HHP. HHP's WIFI is not that strong. This is what I did in my case. 4. Depends how often the camera is triggered. I have Argus 4 Pro, Argus PT Ultra, Argus 3 Ultra and Pro and they are mostly fully charged through the 6W Solar panel. Eg. On the 17th the Argus 4 Pro has been used for 162min and had direct sun for 4 hours. Before I slept I checked and it had a charged of 90%. 5. Yes you can do 24x7 recording but only and only if the camera is POE or plug-in WIFI. There is no 24x7 recording on battery cameras with the exception of Altas. Note: Normally we store the recordings on both the internal SD (ensure you purchase high endurance SD) and the HHP/NVR. Normal practice is to have event recording on SD and 24x7 recording on NVR/HHP. This is not applicable for battery cams in which case you shall have event recording on both SD and HHP/NVR.
r/reolinkcam · Extremely Terrible Argus 3 Pro/Ultra Battery Performance I have both the Argus 3 Pro and Ultra and both are connected to the Solar panel. I really forget them and they are fully charged. On average, they record around 20 events per day.
r/reolinkcam · Argus 3 Pro & Doorbell - New User Questions I have the Argus 3 pro and don't have any similar issues. Try to download the file and play it on PC. If this is fine then you have a transport issue.
r/reolinkcam · Can I access Argus 3 Pro for live view at any time Of course you can. Under normal circumstance, the PIR and the WiFi ccts are active at all the time. If the PIR detects motion then it triggers the application to run. Similarly when the WiFi cct detects a particular preample message it triggers the application to run.
r/reolinkcam · Argus 3 pro and accessing local recordings No. Only format can remove its reference. However using a,recovery software the files can be retrieved if not overwritten.
r/reolinkcam · Argus 3 Pro Indoor Forget to integrate directly Reolink battery camera with 3rd party application. They have proprietary protocols. The only way to do that is through the Home hub Pro. Make sure you connect them to their Solar panel so you will forget them.
r/reolinkcam · Extremely Terrible Argus 3 Pro/Ultra Battery Performance Something is wrong for sure. I wouldn't expect a 2% battery usage in 2 days with PIR is off assuming these are new. Would you tell what's the fw version installed...before you upgrade them...if you did.

r/reolinkcam · Advice, two Argus pro 3 Event Trigger Cam or one Altas PT Ultra Continuous Recording Battery Cam? Do you live somewhere that it gets cold ie less than 5°c? If so I wouldn't rely on the altas to record 24/7 in the winter because it won't recharge at those temperatures. Probably Id go for the 2x argus 3 pros, than the altas because I get winters. Placing the 2 cameras so that objects go across the lens and not towards it will help with the detection. You can set all cameras to upload video to an email address also for some safe keeping.
r/reolinkcam · Argus 3 Pro Indoor It will of course work indoors, but don't keep it plugged in constantly.
r/reolinkcam · Extremely Terrible Argus 3 Pro/Ultra Battery Performance Possibly if you contact support they may have new firmwares for the home hub that could fix or help the camera battery issue.
r/reolinkcam · Argus 3 Pro & Doorbell - New User Questions The live audio feed from the Argos 3 Pro camera to cut out randomly every few seconds? \-This depends on many factors, and including the wifi signal. It may be normal for audio to cut in and out on live view. The App not to show an icon or product image for the Argus 3 Pro camera? \-Mine does show the incon for the Argus 3 Pro Some home hub recordings for the Argus 3 Pro camera to be blank or cut out mid way through playback. I would look at the Wifi signal strength The app to drain your smartphone battery by 1/3 every day through background services (Android)? It is suggested to close the app after use to avoid battery drain from background use The doorbell battery to be dripping a few percent every day despite being topped up by the wired chime? The doorbell will not stay at 100% to avoid battery issues. It will stay a bit lower if plugged in.
r/reolinkcam · Argus 3 Pro: what's stopping someone from removing the SD card? Nothing. But the camera shouldn't be mounted that low.... because people would just take the camera.
r/reolinkcam · Argus 3 pro / ultra solar panel question u/mblaser the cameras that require solar panels come with an adapter now ;)
r/reolinkcam · Extremely Terrible Argus 3 Pro/Ultra Battery Performance If the weather is at or below freezing the batteries generally won't charge, if that changes anything...
r/reolinkcam · Extremely Terrible Argus 3 Pro/Ultra Battery Performance To be honest I have 2x Argus 3 Pros, and an Argus 3 Ultra and I use them without solar panels. I put them up in areas with low motion and I charge them about once a year, so I don't have this same bad battery life. I don't have a home hub, so potentially the home hub is requiring them to turn on and function too much. Is it possible to use solar panels with them? They are intended to be used with solar panels but maybe it's not possible in your use case.

r/reolinkcam · Argus 3 Pro Yeah they're pretty good! I'm still using mine in the backyard. It's been through several storms and insane Townsville heat and still works just fine. My only complaint after having it for this long is the motion detection isn't perfect, but I haven't gone in and changed the settings for some time now as it's only there to keep an eye on the dogs when we're out of the house. I was looking at Eufy recently as we're moving, but even with partner discount they are twice the price. I will probably just grab another couple Reolink cameras.
r/reolinkcam · Argus 3 Pro For anyone coming from Google (like I did) to this thread, I bought one a couple weeks back and have no complaints. Absolutely recommend it *if it is what you need*, though I would typically recommend PoE/wired cameras instead for their reliability and stability. Some shameless self-promotion - I wrote a blog post unboxing the camera and gave it a quick review: https://transiient.github.io/posts/Networking/HomeSecurity/Reolink-Argus-3-Pro-2024-Unboxing.html

r/reolinkcam · Battery operated camera (Argus 3 Pro) to NVR (rln36) ? anyone success ? My support ticket was bringed up to the senior support team. Will see from there. So no I haven't resolved it yet. A little disapointed but I must say I was quite busy and no time to follow on all the support they asked me to try. All my other wifi cameras work fine, just not that battery (only one I have). I am not sure if they really work with normal NVR.... If you are able to have power or pass cable for poe, I highly suggest. The camera battery goes down quickly when I set it to push notification on animals alert so not sure it's a that great idea. I had to recharge cause sun wasn't good enough. But also depends where you live and how much direct sun you have.
r/reolinkcam · Battery operated camera (Argus 3 Pro) to NVR (rln36) ? anyone success ? You are correct, I didn't have to enter the IP, it was already listed. Just confusion cause I had noted the IP address before going to the NVR. For the firmware, I was looking at the camera setting and doing a verification there but if you say it's not good cause always say it is, then not sure what I can do other then force it.

r/reolinkcam · Reolink Review - Constant Issues Thank you for the reply. Is there any possibility of item 1 fixing issues with Pan Tilt? I haven’t really experienced any issues with the home hub wifi other than on my doorbell which is the closest camera to it. I’ve actually found the home hub wifi to be really good at covering all cameras and have only probably reset it once in 4 months. I’ve attempted item 2 multiple times with each issue and sometimes it temporarily fixes the issue. Other times it does not. 3. That makes sense. I will look into how much it costs to ship to see if it’s worth it or I should just keep without microphone function. My frustration regarding warranty is with the fact they do not reply anymore. Whether I have to pay or not is okay depending on the circumstance. 4. Yes I understand this but I’m not sure what battery or not has to do with pan tilt issues. My microphone issue is on a wired camera. I’ve found the batteries and solar to work very well and even in rainy weeks I have had enough battery. This is probably one of the highlights so far.

r/arlo · REVIEW: Arlo vs. competition Very pleased with them still. Only real issue is they sometimes need a soft reset, just flipping the on/off switch. This happens randomly but seems to be during extreme cold. Also had it happen where the cameras didn't take a charge in extreme cold but once they warmed up in the house they were good. I charge them on average probably every 3-4 months. The front door obviously gets a bit more traction than the side of the house. I never got solar panels. Taking them down to charge isn't ideal but it's not a big deal for me. Would still recommend Reolink to anyone looking for an affordable battery-only option.

r/reolink · Argus 3 Pro detection and recording lag You must position the camera so that people or objects enter the sensor's field of view from the side. Only then the camera will respond most quickly. The sensor reacts very slowly when approached head-on. However, fast-moving objects are always missed because first the sensor has to register movement, which activates the camera, which then has to analyze the data and may then record. This is a technical limitation of those battery powered cams. The documentation on Reolink's homepage explains it pretty good.

r/reolinkcam · Setting up Argus 3 Pro with a PoE NVR I believe it is compatible, and I've been able to set it up to the NVR, but the issue is, it isn't available on the reolink app for live viewing. Battery cameras can't stay connected 100% of the time so when you're not actively viewing the live feed, the camera will say "not connected" in the corner when you're on the main screen of the app where you can see all cameras. Once you click on the preview, it will connect and load the live feed.

r/reolinkcam · Reolink home hub + argus 3 pro: when is the update/support coming? Not at all. It works well surprisingly. I have automation to: 1) show RTSP streams via WebRTC card on Popup browser when motion is detected 2) activate siren for 2 seconds on motion detection overnight 3) trigger Trackmix wifi to point to the area if motion is detected by the Argus Pro 3 All work well. So I think it's a matter of time before they update the older HW versions, and once done, hopefully my two other Argus Pro 3 would work just as well.

r/reolinkcam · Reolink home hub + argus 3 pro: when is the update/support coming? Well, it's easy to say or realise afterwards right? I looked at the compatibility list prior to buying the home hub, and it said argus 3 pro being compatible and ordered - didn't realise that there's a 2 nd argus 3 pro entry further down (different versions) that weren't supported (yet). When I did realise, I didn't return the hub since support was scheduled in couple of weeks (it was hard enough to find a way to buy it where I'm from either). Now more than a month or two later, it says another month of wait and who knows if that's going to be changed to next year or if it will ever come. Also I purchased the argus 3 pro from reolink refurbished - no way to know what model you will receive. Really annoying. Usually don't buy things based on brands promises, but in this case I sort of fell for it. Tempted to cut my losses and move to another brand. Ps, the recording (to card or hub) is not something I care about at all. I just want home assistant integration working.

r/reolinkcam · My Frustrating Reolink Experience!!! Ich hatte die Argus 3 Pro mit Solarpanel. Nicht zu ende gedachter Schott. 2 defekte in 3 Jahren.

r/reolinkcam · Reolink Argus 3 Pro - Sometimes the blue led lit for a 10 seconds.

Yeah, I'm aware of jammers. I'm in the process of wiring my wireless doorbell and the other cameras are PoE. I'm also in the process of getting Frigate to work on a small PC I have, but I haven't gotten to do it yet, which I guess would take care of the micro SD card problem? As for reachability, I can't do much higher than the top of my door frame, hence why I was concerned about the microSD card location and access to it. Seems like an obvious oversight?
Well, yes. At least for the Argus, that's true, indeed.
