r/EufyCam · How to make my s340 camera detect movement behind it too? Eufy don’t have an outdoor motion sensor they do have an indoor sensor ( you need to water proof it yourself ) that can trigger the camera to record it will not however trigger it to turn to the backyard. If you want a camera that can detect in more than the way the camera is facing perhaps the E30 floodlight as this has sensors around the unit to detect motion even if the camera is facing the other way.

r/EufyCam · S340 rarely records cars that pass to its right. Thoughts? Thats how the sensor works, like every cheap light sensor. It can detect horizontal change. If you divide the picture lets say 20 collums, if there is a sudden change between collums thats detected. But if there is a movement from the top of the picture to the bottom is exactly the same collum it probably wont detect it. Thats why the 100% that crosses over collum. Probably this sensor is being ran in very low ebergy, and it triggers the camera to turn on and record.

r/EufyCam · event playback now fails part way through video since 3.3.3.8 update to S340 S340 firmware is 3.3.3.8 and Homebase is on 3.7.6.8 waiting for the latest update still. This issue was an Android only thing and got fixed in an update. Current version is 6.0.03 21739.

r/EufyCam · S340 Best Eufy Wireless Solar Cam? I like the S340; I have 4 in use and 1 spare (that I rotate in as a replacement during the winter, when battery doesn't charge enough.) The tracking mode is nice and face recognition works. Normal every day recording works fine (I use Optimal Surveillance mode for my S340s.) However, there a few things that aren't working correctly for me... (1) multi-bridge settings - I defined my WIFI SSID as the multi-bridge entry to the HomeBase 3, but once and a while the settings goes back to HomeBase; does not happen with the S3 Pro. I believe this is an existing bug. (2) One of the features of the S340 is to record locally when the HB3 is down; when the connection is restored, the video stored on the S340 is supposed to be uploaded to the HB3 and then available in the Events for viewing. It didn't work for me. I tested it by powering off the HB3 for 1 hr. Reconnecting the power and after 2 hrs. checked the events. The 1 hr. interval of events is missing from the Events tab. (3) They took away the "Daylike" mode from Night Vision. (4) The app no longer shows the last recorded event of the S340 on the dashboard (the events are recorded and available via Events tab though.) The S3 Pro and C2 Pro show the last event correctly on the dashboard.

Takes time to bring it back to a temperature where it can charge. It is annoying as I'm in Ottawa and it hit -30C earlier today. It's now -20C and my cameras (S340s and S3 Pros) are functioning while my Alro cameras (to be replaced) are not. I have an extra S340 and during the winter, I swap out any S340 when it reaches less than 10% charge. Also, I found out that the Eufy solar panel (that comes with the S340) will not charge the S340 when the temperature hits around -10C.

I'm about to see how well a 26ft daisy-chained set of cables works with a S3 Pro using the Eufy 3W solar panel that comes a 6th. cable attached and two 10ft. extension cables. The connectivity works when I put everything together in the basement, but I haven't tried it outdoors yet.

If this is the case, I would return it, if it's in the return window. The latest firmware for the S340 is 3.3.4,2, in case yours is not up to date.

I would assume the S340 would be the same, but you can probably get away with less since you are essentially just trickle charging the S340's battery. I have a S340 under a car port. To use their 3W solar panel, I ended up daisy-chained two of Eufy's 10ft USB-C extension cables together. It works fine; the battery eventually charges up to 100%.

I set an activity zone to cover until the end of the driveway. Seems to be working, Before I set the activity zone, I was getting quite a few hits (70+) per day due the people walking on the sidewalk and cars driving by.
r/EufyCam · Black screen on remote view after HomeBase 3 + S340 update (28/02/2026) I'm not seeing this. I'm able to live view the cameras when on 5G. I have basically the same setup (HB3 with multiple S340 cameras connected.) Running the latest Eufy App (v5.8.00\_16784019) on an iPhone 15 Plus with latest IOS (26.3). HB3 is at v3.7.3.6 and S340 is at v3.3.3.8. Internet is 1GB cable. If you are able, perhaps you can remove the camera and then re-add it to the HB3 and see if that helps.

r/EufyCam · S340 will not charge if extremely cold Agreed... it's annoying. Based on my Arlo experience, I knew the cameras were not going to work with extreme cold. The surprise for me was the solar panel. I thought they would still charge the cameras until -22C. Nope. I had bought 3rd. party 8W solar panels and was going to return them to Amazon because I noticed that they stopped working when the temperature went around -5C/-10C. I put back the original Eufy panels (hoping they would be better), but they seemed to stop around the same temp. I think I will keep the 8W panels and once Spring occurs, I'll swap out the Eufy panels and reverse the process come December.
r/EufyCam · S3 Pro and External Solar Panel Questions I returned the 3rd. party ones as I only had 2 days left to return them to Amazon/3rd. party. I couldn't do any further testing it's been cloudy/raining. I received a Eufy panel from someone, but it's another day of rain, so I will install it another day and buy additional ones once Black Friday comes around. I have a S340 and the charging has been good with the panel it came with.

r/EufyCam · Where should I put my Solocam S340? Honestly, the answer is actually where ever gets the most sunlight per day. And keep in mind the angle of the sun changes with the season. Mine works fine during the summer but over the winter months I have to manually plug it in and recharge it about 2x.

r/EufyCam · Items on my driveway got stolen with no recording when multiple Eufy camera pointing There's some serious issues of late will the s340 units, either eufy intentionally doing so or by accident, pre last firmware all was smooth sailing, regular detections on sensitivity level of 4, happy days. Then firmware hit and after no detections for 48hrs I increased the sensitivity, it now sits on 7 and both barely pickup what once was amazing tracking and detection, these units are Dec last year and Jan so not too old either. Issues I have noticed IR delay when viewing from live view (this could just be me) Motion has passed, recording is the trail end of the actual event so it's a video of nothing (confirmed by my trusty outdoor cam pro) If the recording captures movement, the first seconds glitch or blip so a portion is missing, I have s340 on bridged and another 2metres from hb3 I also have custom recording set to 60 seconds without ending early yet I still get records of well under the request of 60s If I receive a notification (this is a brand new issue from the app update) if I click through to watch the event we get the spinning E and it'll never play, but if I wait a few minutes I am then able to view that recording - again the outdoor cam pro notification goes to the event straight away without issues Response from Eufy was sorry, nothing more and won't provide firmware change log nor the app.
r/EufyCam · S340's Stops halfway decrypting events Since the last updates, my s340s fail to capture basic motion at night, no success either after a full reset on all cameras, worked amazingly well before hand, now it's a potato. Customer service was basically pointless, no answers just apologetic and nothing more. Won't be going Eufy when these fail, better systems are out these days for a third of the price.

A side feature would to have the presets change at a requested time, ie in the afternoons I get direct sunlight so to tilt it to another preset would be amazing But Eufy need to work on the app and decryption speeds firstly, then the motion sensitivity, then features. r/wyzecam · Wyze captured night time incident while Tapo / Eufy missed event Certainly all brands can miss events. I’ve been using Wyze, Tapo, Eufy, Ring, Nest for years, with Wyze being the longest in use. It amazes me that the cheap v2 and v3 capture the most and best reliably, with both SD card redundancy and cheap cloud storage to boot. Ring / Nest have no local recording. Tapo & Eufy cloud is pricey, so Wyze offers dual storage which is most consistent and reliable. The cheap v2s and v3s have outperformed their price point by far. The $120 Eufy s340 really ticked me off with its lackluster performance, and let me down when I needed it the most.

r/EufyCam · Solocam s340 has lost AI tracking option? The latest update changed a lot of the settings. Mine still tracks people though. You may also want to turn on cross camera tracking also. In the app click Services at the bottom then click Other Services at the top, and then in the middle it’ll mention cross camera tracking, click it and turn it on for every camera you want plus the additional settings.
r/EufyCam · Have the Eufy S340? Would like real user feedback So there’s a human detection and also a human recognition. The human detection works perfectly at least for me. It detects the mailman every single day and anyone else that comes to my door. The other detection eufy has is called human recognition where it can try to identify people you put on a list by adding a photo of them. To me it’s still in beta mode and doesn’t always work. But the human detection has always worked great.

The E30 is a great option but I like the S340 a little better because of the 3K resolution, spotlight, color night vision, and 8x zoom. Depending on your needs either is a fine choice. The solar panels work great at keeping them charged. I have mine paired with a HomeBase 3 and the cameras and videos load quickly.
r/EufyCam · Have the Eufy S340? Would like real user feedback I have the S340 and really like it. I also have the HomeBase 3 with an added SSD. Unfortunately I can’t say how much time the 8GB will record, but it’s a fair amount. And once it gets full it will overwrite the oldest videos. I’ve found that the S340 has good motion detection for humans and vehicles and the solar panel has kept the battery charged since I got it about a year ago. And that’s through a bitter cold winter. It also has decent color night vision. Overall I have had good luck with my whole eufy setup. The only thing that doesn’t work great is the human recognition, it sometimes works but most of the time it doesn’t. Thankfully it’s not something I really care about so it doesn’t bother me.
r/EufyCam · I see a lot of complaints about the Solocam S340 & E340 Doorbell missing events. Here is the reason why. That’s interesting. Fortunately my S340 and E340 have been working perfectly. My E340 is hardwired and my S340 is just run off of the solar panel that came with it. There are also lots of motion detection settings that if not fine tuned the cameras won’t capture everything intended.

r/EufyCam · S340 recording duration Disable end clip early, eufy should have a setting for a delay time for these clips for movement. It's literally too fast. I think maybe about 2 seconds of no movement. I changed my clips to 120seconds, with the least amount of delay between clips I think it was 2 seconds or 5. And I turned off end clip when no motion is detected. I moved away from eufy and switched to tapo because the app was so bad. Eufy has better quality but whats the point if I can barely use the app? Tapo is better for the app but worse in quality but it's still good

r/EufyCam · S340 - Outlet Power? I tried to find the best outdoor plug I could find and ran into a wall of bad products or overpriced ones. I ended up buying a blink outdoor usbc plug for 15 dollars that did the trick for me. Now, do NOTE\* it wont work if you directly plug it into the unit, not sure why it just doesnt. \- I ended up having to plug it into one of the adapters from eufy to then plug into the s340 \- I also ended up having to modify (cut away part of) the usbc end of the blink cable so it could fit the adapter from eufy (which was usb c female to male anyway but somehow it works after that) Has anyone found a better connecting cable? I'm in Canada and I cant seem to find anything, not even from eufy themselves.

r/EufyCam · Solocam S340 suffering from weak network Assuming this is a router/signal issue and not the camera itself, start simple. If you haven’t already, reboot the router. Why? Because it can force the router to reconnect on a less crowded channel/band if the current one is dealing with interference or congestion. If that doesn’t help, the next step is physical placement. Move the router closer to the camera any way you can. Even 1–2 meters can make a difference, but obviously the closer the better. Elevating the router to about 5 to 8 feet is also a solid move. Why? Wi-Fi signal tends to spread outward and downward, so getting it up off the floor helps reduce obstruction from furniture and can improve overall coverage throughout the house. If raising it isn’t an option, shift it horizontally closer to the camera, ideally toward the door or wall nearest that device. If none of that improves things, then it might actually be the camera. I’ve seen firmware issues where that camera suddenly records *all* motion instead of just detected events (person, pet, vehicle, etc.), which can drain the battery overnight. If you reposition the router and it’s still not coming back online after a day or two, it may be worth taking the camera down and troubleshooting it directly. Good Luck!
r/EufyCam · Eufy S340 SoloCam Detection Honestly I just don’t know. I chalk it up to the deep sleep and wake up cycle on this camera to prevent heavy battery drain. I’ve had times when it detects perfectly for days and clips will show what I need and then all of a sudden at one point it has clips where it cuts stuff out or runs too long. Weird stuff. I’ve largely decided to do away with battery only and instead have opted to supply all my cams with power. Doesn’t help with this one though.
r/EufyCam · Eufy S340 SoloCam Detection Unfortunately, the S340 is still a battery camera, and one of the biggest downsides with many battery cams is delayed wake-up from sleep. That’s pretty common across the category. At this point, I’d probably consider replacing it with something that either: 1. Still has a battery, but also supports wired power for 24/7 continuous recording, or 2. Uses newer hardware that’s generally more responsive. If you want to stay within Eufy, the S4 Solar is probably the cream of the crop right now for the SoloCam lineup, although it’s definitely pricey. If you can run power to the camera using a long USB-C cable and a decent 5V/2A or 3A adapter, the newer E30 (2K) or E42 (4K) are also noticeably more responsive than the S340 simply because they’re based on newer tech. If you’re not tied specifically to Eufy, you could also look at brands like Tapo. That said, pretty much all battery cameras have some degree of delay or responsiveness issues. Battery cams are just inherently slower compared to wired systems. In your case, due to the nature of your concerns, I would spend the money to get something that definitely works well, so the S4 or E42 and run the wire if possible.
r/EufyCam · Have the Eufy S340? Would like real user feedback I really like my Eufy system, but if I were in your shoes, I’d probably sell it and stick with Tapo. I own the S340, and for the better part of almost 3 years now (3 years this August), it’s been solid for me overall. That said, you already have an established Tapo ecosystem, and I think that matters more than people realize. 1. The built in 8GB storage won’t last very long, especially if you run the camera at its best quality setting of 3K. If you use dual view/dual recording, it drops to 2K, but storage still fills fairly quickly. 2. A lot of Eufy’s better features are locked behind the HomeBase. You own a SoloCam, which is part of Eufy’s battery + solar lineup designed to function independently, but it becomes significantly more capable with a HomeBase attached. With the HomeBase, you gain facial recognition, expandable storage through a 2.5" HDD or SSD, and features like Cross Tracking, which basically stitches events together across compatible Eufy cameras in the app timeline. 3. At the end of the day, this is still a battery camera in every sense of the word. Some battery cameras unlock features like 24/7 recording when externally powered, but this model was designed from the ground up to conserve battery by sleeping and waking as needed. Battery camera tech has improved a lot in 2025/2026 compared to what existed almost 3 years ago. 4. Mixing ecosystems, especially with security cameras, gets annoying fast. I know because I’ve done it. About 85% of my cameras are Eufy. For a while, I experimented with Tapo because I liked some of their Alexa integrations, especially the ability to trigger lights and routines from camera detections. Unfortunately, my experience with the Tapo HomeBase was rough. My first unit died in under 2 weeks when the Ethernet port failed, and the replacement (brand new, not refurb, etc.) died in under 4 weeks with the exact same issue. To be fair, plenty of people use and enjoy the Tapo HomeBase without issues, so I’m not trying to trash it. I was probably just extremely unlucky. But after two failures, it completely killed my confidence in that product. That said, my bigger point is that dealing with one camera ecosystem and one app is just way more convenient than juggling multiple systems. So honestly, if you can sell the Eufy and fully commit to Tapo, I probably would. Tapo has some genuinely solid outdoor battery cameras out right now.
r/EufyCam · I see a lot of complaints about the Solocam S340 & E340 Doorbell missing events. Here is the reason why. Mine don’t start missing anything until I connect it to the Homebase 3 with this darn 3746 fw. If I connect them to my router directly, they work wonderfully.
r/EufyCam · Last update killed - apparently - one of my S340 cameras Do you have a newer iPhone or Android? Please use that cable (usb c) and a 5v/2a or even higher adapter and plug the camera in to charge? Do you see any response at all ie: any light from the circle on the front (under the speaker)? I've had this happen and the camera needed a deep reset. I had to press the sync button for 15 seconds, but I thought the camera was dead because I too got no response. I let it charge for 2 hours and tried but realized that the sync button is NOTORIOUSLY hard to keep pressed in for 15s. Once I did, it reset and worked.
r/EufyCam · Solocam S340 not rotating Use the calibrate button to test rotation. If you notice it rotating fine, then the camera's OK. Your issue may be with extreme delay which I am also seeing with the S340 atm because it will no longer stay connected to my router (through Multibridge), it keeps reverting to my HB3 which is behind a brick/cement wall. I don't know if device or HB firmware caused this for me, but one or both did because it worked perfectly up to about 2 weeks ago before both devices were updated. It works fine right now for doing what it's supposed to like recording clips, but live viewing if I need to pan or tilt is a nightmare. There's no way to revert FW, unfortunately you'll have to wait for a FW or SW (app) update to fix whatever they did. You can try going back to older FW if you use Android, but you can't do this on an iPhone that isn't jailbroken.
r/EufyCam · Eufy SoloCam S340 I got mine in 2023, and I only had to take it down for the first time last month, and that was my fault. I accidentally removed it from the app. This model did have a few issues early on. At one point, the logic would randomly switch to capturing general motion events, which drained the battery pretty quickly. If you had the spotlight enabled, it would sometimes get stuck on for a while and would even come on during the daytime, which also drained the battery fast. Luckily mines never drained fully because where it’s mounted the panel gets abundant sunlight almost all day. I also experienced some inconsistent online and offline behavior for a period of time, though I believe that was related to a Eufy Homebase 3 issue. Since the most recent update, I haven’t seen any of those problems. It has been flawless. Of course, this is just my personal experience. Everyone’s setup and environment are different. I do recommend it. That said, so you do not end up completely jaded if something goes wrong, I would suggest getting a third party warranty. If it fails after a year, you are not left frustrated. For anything I buy from Eufy, or really any electronics over $100, especially from Amazon, I usually add a warranty if one is available. If your budget allows, I would also consider spending a bit more for the Eufy SoloCam S4. In my opinion, it is an excellent device.

The s340 is a Solocam and can connect directly to a router BUT it will lose the storage and functionality of the HB3 (face, pet and vehicle detection) Factory reset it and connect it to your router. Keep in mind you’ll need to have it in hand to reset and re-add it. For the E340 doorbell, same thing. You’ll lose HB3 storage, vehicle and pet detection, but it keeps facial recognition. Reset it and upon setup choose your router. It should work fine after that.
r/EufyCam · Eufy E30, 360, C2 & C2 Pro – False motion alerts (cats, cars, lights) even with Human Detection only + late person detection I'm sorry you're having these issues. I have 2xS3 Pros, 4xS330s, 1xS340 and 1xE33Pro on the outside of my home and none of them are having this issue. Can you say when you had the last FW update and if the issues seemed to start afterwards? Can you post what your FW version is so I can check it against mine? If everything was working where they were and now this is happening, especially AFTER a reset? I am officially clueless as to how to fix. All I could say is that maybe FW caused it so only FW can fix it.

That's quite poor if so and may be a factor for me to get something else. As for the Homebase, if I was shelling out over £100 then I'd probably just find a suitable Tapo & stick a SD card in since almost all my other cams are now Tapo (at the time of purchase I think we only had 1 so it was a bit 50/50).

r/EufyCam · Have the Eufy S340? Would like real user feedback I'll not be buying a homebase for the reason I just gave to u/2nd-nature . If I had more Eufy cams then possibly. If the 8GB would be enough to store a good amount of video, let's say like a whole weeks worth or something (for my drive at least) then I may go with it but this mention of people detection not being so great, I'll need to look in to that because that's pretty important being a front of house cam. As we have numerous Tapo devices now (at the time we only had 1) I may end up going Tapo cam with SD card which can also store on the Tapo Hub I have. Like I say, the easiest thing would be to keep it & just run with it but if people detection is going to be an issue then it's kinda pointless. I'll look in to that though.

r/EufyCam · Dual charging S340 cam This is from the Eufy site. Can I use the Y splitter to charge 2 eufy Solar Panels for one camera? I think a Solar Panel is too small to maintain power. At present, two Solar Panels can be connected in parallel to charge one camera. The Y separator requires better wire quality, and the wire length should not exceed 2.5 meters. The wire of our Solar Panel itself has been 4 meters. If the wire length is too long, it will affect the charging of the Solar Panel.

r/EufyCam · S340's Stops halfway decrypting events So today I took down one of my Eufy S340's and reset it not using the 380 home base and went directly thru my wifi and the camera works fine. Still not sure if its a home base issue or s340 issue however I thinks its a S340 issue because my E42 and E30 playback and work normally thru the homebase. I'll think hard before I replace any of my camera's with Eufy again. Hopefully someone from Eufy reads these posts.

I noticed that when I freed the s340 from the homebase and use it wifi direct, the camera responds much quicker. My WiFi signal is perfect all the way around for all my devices. r/homeowners · What’s the BEST home security camera right now?? I’m very invested in the Eufy universe with 11 cameras so far. I’ve tried a lot of their models and their current best is the S340 hands down and is routinely on sale for $119/129/139 any time there’s an Amazon event (Amazon Big Spring Sale starts 3/25). The E42 is trash and the only model I really regret buying. Don’t get sucked in by it being 4K. The solar functionality works well across models and most store and forward so they continue in the event of a power outage. There’s a couple nagging issues but livable considering no monthly charges. The water detector units are great for remote monitoring also

r/EufyCam · E30 versus S340 for Back Yard Wildlife Camera I have both, they’re essentially the same camera the S340 does have a split screen option, it does have multiple lenses. So if you want a smaller view, yet a top and bottom view like say the E340 doorbell, you can choose the S340, but if that’s not as important, save yourself a few bucks and go with the E30. Maybe consider the E42 also, it has red and blue lights that might actually do more to scare someone off than just say the presence of a camera…

Buy a power cord like this https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0FQNW1DZ1?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title and rest assured your cameras will be up and running all winter long. Noticed that as long as my batteries just lose a bit of charge as long as I have them hardwares even in -4 temps they show to charge.

r/EufyCam · -20 F and the S340 still working It's been over a week since it's we have had sun or temps above zero. The unit is currently at 73%. It will get above 0 F on Monday. Next weekend it looks like it may get warm enough and be sunny enough where it may get some charge. I'm hoping it can last long enough where I won't have to take it down and charge it inside.

All of a sudden all my battery cameras connected to one of my two Homebases 3 went offline this night: 1 old doorbell s220, three s300, and the one s340. Only the e330 pro is still online on this HB. I have another HB3 with one solo c210 one outdoor e220 and three 2c pro and they are all still online
r/EufyCam · Solocam S340 just went offline??? I suppose you can’t know now that it’s bricked. I always email support because it’s the only way for us in Europe to contact it. The first answer you get is always from an AI but you can escalate your case . I hope they help you with it . Don’t hesitate to involve their commercial service by threatening to turn towards another brand if the camera has been out of warranty for mere days and is bricked. Especially if others have had the same problem and send the logs of your Eufy devices as soon as you have a problem. The logs keep for 2 or days .

r/EufyCam · S340 rarely records cars that pass to its right. Thoughts? Look at the angles. The more it crosses horizontally, the more the algorithm sees movement. I believe it even says that in setup? I have a similar issue but with animals and humans, and have moved/realigned/rotated cameras so the predominant movement is horizontal across the camera. Effective, even if not 100%.

"(1) multi-bridge settings - I defined my WIFI SSID as the multi-bridge entry to the HomeBase 3, but once and a while the settings goes back to HomeBase; does not happen with the S3 Pro. I believe this is an existing bug." Having this bug with mine, setup multi-bridge with wifi, after a few days i checked it and multi-bridge was disabled and the switch in the app to enable it will no do anything.. hopping for update soon

Like if it tracks to the right(neighbor side) I can put a zone or something so it dosent track to the right too much? This disables tracking. What I wanted is say at my default position it tracks still but if the camera goes right too much I'm able to select a setting to where it dosent go fully right. I want it to still be able to track, I don't mind it tracking all the way to to left, down, top, just not fully to the right. Which eufy dosent have currently have.

They typically add features to new releases so I wouldnt count on this model getting 24/7 recording.

Sadly discovered that indeed both cables are defective and non functional. What are the chances! Quite frustrating as I had never used either cable for the first couple years I've owned these cameras and now I don't have warranty coverage.

I've noticed that my front yard S340 now knows that the solar panel is not connected, but it never noticed when I first plugged it into the wall. Eufy has been improving the firmware obviously. I wish they would leave well enough alone.

This is the third time in about two weeks with two different cameras. Yes, I have a hardwired POE camera, but it sucks at notifications and event recording. Scanning through hours of recording is no fun. It's an after the fact POS.
r/EufyCam · S340's Stops halfway decrypting events I've been going back and forth with Eufy on this for months. At one point they said it was a known firmware issue, but playback still sucks, even with fewer decryption errors. The scenario is as follows, decryption errors, the panning camera will drop off part way through playback and playback will stop about halfway through even though the video says it's still playing. I replaced the one S340 with a spare and it seemed better for a while, but then started showing the same behaviour. The connection with the HomeBase says it's great. I had the same S340 go offline for a few hours recently, but it eventually came back online after I discovered it was offline. I know it was offline, as it records vehicle activity every few minutes, but there was a gap of several hours. This cameras is plugged in, as the solar panel can't handle this level of activity. This happened again last night, the camera said it was unable to connect to my HomeBase 3, but the HB3 said the signal was great. The camera would not connect, but I was able to reset it via HB3. The last recording was a car parked at the end of my driveway, Deauth attack, shitty Eufy hardware, paranoia?

Try charging the camera via power and then see if the solar will charge once it starts draining again, this has happened to me before, also sometimes when there are updates people have lost the solar charging ability unfortunately, I’ve got 3 S340s and 1 S4 and I’ve had to replace a solar on one of the S340s just 2 weeks ago and now in the past week I’ve had another lose solar charging ability and none of the other solar panels attached to it will charge so it’s obviously a camera issue itself, frustrating.

How come sometimes when I check the playback of what was recorded it’s like a pre-recorded clip, so like 5 or so seconds until the person or vehicle is in frame, but other times it’s as soon as the person is picked up within the frame?

I have 2 S3Pros, S340, S330 all on the HB3, I run 4 C2s and 1 C2 Pro on the HB2. I have the network set up on HB3 for Wifi 7 (long story, bridged mode), I have specific channel set up on 2.4 and 5.8 as Hb2 and 3 work on channel 11. As a pan and tilt camera, this is pretty useless at night, during the day, works good, but you would need other cams to assist it imo. It does not need a home base as is a solo cam and has 8GB memory already installed.

I had an incident the other night, S330 captured everything, S340 never even pinged, they are in the almost same spot, 1 meter apart. This is why I chose both, the 340 works great during the day but would not rely on it for night duties alone. 330 is the best night duty cam due to how it works, I will report back on the S3 Pro which I should have tomorrow.

Would like real user feedback 8GB is more than enough for 1 weeks worth of recordings, if you hammer that cam where you're pinging it too often, the battery will run out before the memory does. It depends how long your record for and the sensitivity of the camera to be alerted to record. Be mindful that the camera moving also affects the battery, I had a S340 and sent it back due to not being able to capture specific motion on my drive rather, it would capture my neighbors movements. 8GB for 1 cam is more than enough, if it is a concern of yours, just download all the clips and store them somewhere, which means you would have to do this periodically. I have an NVR and I only need 3 days of recording, if we have something happen here, we know to store that footage, otherwise it will be recorded over, I will get a bigger HDD later on, but it makes for easier search when I don't have weeks of footage. My concern is what just happened as apposed to what happened last month.

I was a year outside of warranty but emailed Eufy anyways, because them causing their own devices to crap out is absurd. They pretty much offered a replacement right away, but they didn’t have solo S340s in stock so they sent me a 2 pack instead.

r/EufyCam · S340 cameras all stopped solar charging about a month ago! Keep in mind that if they are too too high, the PIR sensors that your camera relies on to turn on, may be out of range. They're only effective to 40 feet by manufacturer's specs.

r/EufyCam · S340 That would then apply to homebase I assume (I only use the doorbell w/ no homebase). So you would test a sole 2.4ghz connection. Eufy states 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi Network with a WPA/WPA2 protocol. Seems it doesn't even use 5ghz. It's worth a try.

Twice i got no recording and the third time it somehow got the tail end of when my neighbor managed to hit my fence and drive through my front yard. It got enough to not be able to tell it was my neighbor. These just aren't that good. Now I use it to see if the FedEx guy outside is dropping off any packages for me because that's about as much use as it has.

Also fall and winter means less direct sunshine on the solar panel. I gave up on the solar panels for my s340's. I don't feel they are large enough to properly run and charge the S340. I am lucky that I have outlets right next to where I mounted the cameras, so I got a USB C outdoor charger that plugs in and runs the cameras. I moved the s340 solar panels to my backyard S220 cameras, and those panels can't even keep those far simpler cameras charged. If you do not have a source of nearby AC power (within 6m), you could try some much larger solar panels with a USB C output. Plenty on Amazon in the 10-15w range.

r/EufyCam · event playback now fails part way through video since 3.3.3.8 update to S340 Mine were all wacky after the update but seem to have settled back. The S340 now supports multi bridge as well if you hadn’t seen it yet. Not sure about 24/7 recording as none of mine are hardwired.

I’ve had cameras go offline before but they usually got back online pretty quickly, within 30 minutes or so. But in this case, it’s been down for a few days. I was going to remove the camera and bring it inside to charge and see if I could reset it, but it sounds like you’ve tried that so I may be SOL as well. Before going offline battery was always above 90% and charging fine. I’m going to call support and ask for a replacement camera. r/EufyCam · Solocam S340 just went offline??? Well, update, called Eufy support, huge waste of time. They are not allowing you to speak with an live representative, only an AI assistant. Regardless, I tried the recommended trouble shooting via the automated AI assistant over the phone. Hold SYNC, plug the camera into a charger using the included USB cable etc, and the camera is completely unresponsive. I purchased the camera in January 2025, so I'm probably outside the warranty period and SOL..... Emailed support to create a ticket and see what happens. I'm assuming Eufy pushed an update to the camera and bricked it, or some spontaneous hardware failure which seems highly unlikely since others are reporting S340's going offline around the same time.

r/EufyCam · Eufy Solocam S340 going offline and not coming back on No Homebase here, I have both S340 and S4 and they both decide to take PTO on me from time to time lol I try to get it back on line but when it fails I just reboot my Wi-Fi, pain in the ass if i had to go all the way to the basement, were all my connection come in, but I have the ability to do it remotely from my app on phone. Once a reboot Wi-Fi they all come back ...if that helps

I reset the wifi router and they came back! so conclusion is that its a problem on Eufy's end (as always) and not sure what the problem or solution is. This is just to let you know its nothing something you can do or prevent. Just waiting for more reports to find the solution (probably do nothing and it will eventually come back)

One of them has started missing amy events between approx 9.00pm and 6.00 am . No idea why .Even had one replaced under warranty but the new one is even worse. Waiting until I get a new router before reinstalling everything again. If that doesn't work I don't know what I can do next.

For sure most people are happy with the S340 but there are edge cases such as this recent post: https://www.reddit.com/r/EufyCam/comments/1qb7it1/s340_rarely_records_cars_that_pass_to_its_right/ Seems like it has issues detecting cars when pointed down a road. I'm glad you're happy with your setup, but you really don't know what events it could be missing unless you monitor the live feed for a few hours or setup another cam in the same spot recording 24/7.

Anything relying on a PIR sensor for activation is going to be tricky for what you’re looking for. A wired 24/7 recording camera analyzes the image for motion identification.

If you're not recording continuously then it's only a matter of time before **any** camera brand misses an event. If you're only doing motion based recording then all you have are toys, not security cameras.

I was going to get the E30 Floodlight so the light is not a big deal, just wasn’t sure if I need the dual lens. 3K is great over 2K but the Frame rate on the 340 is 15 compared to 20 FPS on the E30. Supposedly the E30 can connect from a further distance due to a power amplifier.

I've never used the continuous recording so can't comment on that. But I love the parcel detection feature. First day of use a parcel was dropped off without ringing the doorbell. No issue the alert advised there was a package at the door. It also has an alarm you can set if a package isn't picked up by a certain time. Quality wise still a 2k camera so not much improvement that side. Great feature IMHO.

In an interesting twist, it appears that eufy upgraded the panels supplied with their S340 recently, possibly in response to user comments or such. This is anecdotal testing, not lab testing. The results may vary slightly due to changes in outdoor light as the filtered sun ebbs and flows behind Seattle overcast. If you can try to find panels which terminate at USB-C instead. that way you have one less connection as the panels in my link end with USB-micro but convert into USB-c with adaptors which were shipped with the solar panels. Since it's for outdoor use you try to have as few connectors as possible for corrosion and moisture to enter. Thay said, you can always wrap the micro-to-USB-C connections with silicone or electrical tape. You get the idea

On a non-precip, overcast Seattle day here is a quick measure of the relative, solar panel current output: eufy's solar panel used in (about) pre-2025 S340 yielded 32mA eufy's solar panel used in 2025 S340 produced 38mA Amazon purchased 5watt panel produced 127mA Amazon purchased 10watt panel produced 404ma This gives you a rough idea the improvement to expect if your climate and sun exposure would benefit from a solar panel upgrade. It was interesting to me that though the outdoor lighting appeared to be at the same level (I moved quickly to connect between panels) my iPhone did not seem to be able to register any current with the eufy panels until the larger Amz replacement panels were connected. This demonstration appeared consistent over weeks of casual testing: the eufy panels required brighter light in which to produce sufficient current for my iPhone 15. I did not try to test other current drawing devices with lower current demand vs my iPhone (yet). Bottom line: If you purchased an S340 recently the solar panel should be an improvement over the 1st gen production release camera. How much more remains to be seen.

Since the store is a mile from me, I dropped in today, 3 weeks early, and found the in-store price to be $99 already. Picked up 2. I've owned 4 of the same model covering 2 homes and satisfied with their performance. Good enough for me. I have Homebase 3. It gets gray and cloudy here so I found the OE solar panel wasn't good enough. They were replaced with 5 and 10 watt panels off Amazon.

r/EufyCam · Need help deciding S340 or S3 Pro camera bundle Totally different uses. S340 can be corner mounted and cover 2 sides of your property. It also motion tracks etc etc. it cannot “see” motion not optically visual though. Can’t see in the pitch dark without turning its light on or using IR. Both can blind the camera if the subject gets near a wall and tracking will be lost. S3 pro is a great static came if everything you want to see is within its view. Ot also has superior F stop and night clarity with zero IR and near pitch dark. 2 cams with totally different use cases honestly.

Each one is different. 1 340 will show it's charging, but not show anything on the dashboard for a day or 2. The E30 shows all the power the panel is receiving. The 2nd 340 shows some data. The app says they won't charge until they're under 97%. All cams are maintaining 98%+ charge. Maybe give it a few days.

r/EufyCam · Eufy Review I think this is one of those ymmv things. My S300 eufycam 3 set have been in use for a long time, since the cameras we're introduced and still going strong. I do have them mounted under the eave with external aftermarket panels and they do not show the delaminating that many describe after having them mounted directly in the sun. The S340, also mounted under eave with aftermarket panel has been solid since new for the last year as well. For solar cameras, I think mounting them directly in the sun kills them, they are a cheap plastic, which sucks for the consumer but good for eufy as it means you buy more. I haven't tried the covers but they may help.

Domes reduce the amount of IR that gets out of the camera. Smoked domes more so. So the IR performance at night is going to be terrible.

r/EufyCam · Have the Eufy S340? Would like real user feedback I realize this may be a little late. But either way, bought an s340 about 2 years ago, the 8gb is fine even moderate activity. The more concerning part is the amount of time the solar is in the sun. I started having issues with enough battery power within months as the sun shifted from the seasons. my probably was that the solar panel was blocked by a high up Soffit part of the day and got worse as the summer season progressed. if its not getting 7-10 hours of sun a day it won't keep up. Finally, after that 2 years in the desert sun and heat, I think the solar panel has given up/out already as it seems to not be charging, ( a recent discovery) even when taken down and left in the sun all day. The panel looks fine and usb c plug that it uses looks in great condition so I dont' know what gives. Finally, I'd like to echo what others have said that most of the features are behind paywalls and pretty useless other than using it as a wifi camera that will give notifications. The thing I've noticed over 2 years is that those notifications got slower and slower and sometimes I couldnt' even get a live view. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone moving forward.

My camera is positioned to whet it gets maximum sunlight everyday so it’s not a battery issue. I can turn on the light via the app but it won’t turn on by itself. I checked the firmware and it’s up to date. I did see in the settings there is an option to restart the camera. Do you think by doing this it might solve this issue? Everything else works fine.

No, I do not have any issues with tracking, and it tracks vehicles with no issues and that is much faster than walking. Something must be off somewhere. I don't know enough to help you troubleshoot but it seems to me that it should work perfect. Mine S 340 tracks people all day long walking on the sidewalk, jogging, etc cars passing by no issues. Make sure your positioning is 7 -10 from ground level and you SHOULD be good.

The [Eufy S340](https://featherab.com/shopit?q=Eufy%2BS340%2Bsolar%2Bsecurity%2Bcamera%2Bdual%2Blens%2Btracking) has strong detection features, but if you already expect low ambient light, plan on weaker color night performance unless there is some nearby light. I would avoid tiny included panels and budget for upgraded solar panels from day one.

Both of those also show 92% max capacity. So now I’m wondering if the value is inaccurate, or if these cameras have also been sitting in storage for a long time. It seems unlikely that four brand new units would all have degraded batteries, especially when two of them show exactly 92%.

r/EufyCam · Eufy SoloCam S340 I have 2. Had them since July 2025. Also have the Homebase. Both camera's work great. Battery discharge is surprising low even when set to the 60 sec recording setting. The only glitch that popped up in the last 6 months, which may be related to one of EUFY's firmware updates, is that the app is reporting that one of my camera's doesnt have the solar panel attached to it. Even though it shows it's charging via solar it still thinks that the panel isnt connected. Very bizarre. I've updated the app numerous times since and the issue is still there in the app. The firmware has been updated also. Otherwise, everything I need the camera's to do is fine. Currently it's on sale for $349.95 from EUFY. \[Save $100.00 with Code: WS24T8170TW1\] I'm thinking of getting a 3rd camera for the side of the house.

r/EufyCam · S340 won't charge - replacement panel? Is it near high voltage power wires? I installed a group of 4 for a friend. Only one had issues. It was showing a ton of charging in the dashboard but the battery was continuously going down. Eufy support was great and offered to replace it but I would need to send it in to then before they would send a replacement. Finally it occurred to me that radiation from the high voltage power line coming into his property could be interfering. It was about 4 feet away at the time. I moved the camera another 10 feet away and it was suddenly working perfectly.

r/EufyCam · Eufy s340 doesn’t pan, doesn’t scan preset positions & records no events I have two Eufy S340's and they both re-set to looking straight down and they would not let me pre-set positions anymore, that feature removed itself from the settings screen. I went back and forth with Eufy for over a week and now they want to "escalate" their "investigation" to find out I did wrong. It's like they never heard of this problem, but from this Reddit sub, Eufy should very much know the problem. It's their updates. Every time they do an update all of my cameras go bonkers, and my Wi-Fi bridge has been needing replacement 7 times. Are you all getting this "escalate" their "investigation" nonsense? They want serial numbers (because proving I bought the cameras (direct from them no less) wasn't enough. Now they want serial numbers, my mother's maiden name, and the first school I attended and my immunization records. To "investigate" their friggin' product with a problem they obviously know all about. WTF! Right now, after I deleted and re-installed the cameras, they are working okay, but still no pre-set position option and I can move them remotely. But I had to delete and re-install the three times one night because they would stop working within a few minutes. And Eufy can control these cameras from HQ, I know that for a fact, because they emailed me asking if everything was okay and not 30 seconds after I said everything is fine right now both cameras went down simultaneously. I know they did that.

r/EufyCam · Last update killed - apparently - one of my S340 cameras I had the same crap happen. Soft reboots didnt do it. For whatever reason, I powered down the base station and left it that way for about 10 minutes. I then deleted and reconnected ONE camera of many, and everything came back up. Of course, submitting logs and getting root cause analysis was a useless exercise...YMMV

r/eufy · I'm tired of blink. I’ve been pretty happy with the S340. I like that it does the auto tracking of people when spotted. I do feel like the image has gotten a little soft over time but I think that’s because I may have used Windex too many times to clean the outer lens and as I later found out it can be bad for that outer protective lens. The quality of my other cameras is really good, and coincidentally Windex was not used on them, so just remember to use water and a soft cloth. The E340 has worked well in the two or so years I’ve had it. I keep my porch light on overnight and the camera on the E340 is good enough with that porch light that I don’t have to use the night vision mode and can keep everything in color. The two issues I had/have: • The E340 has a pre-record setting that is supposed to include 4 seconds before motion is detected. It’s only for wired installs and when I tried this setting it kept causing the doorbell to disconnect from WiFi. I eventually just stopped using this feature. • Recently the doorbell shows perpetual charging icon. Before it would just show a plug symbol. But people started noticing the charging icon staying on and not going away. Even with new firmware I still only show it charging to 90%. The doorbell still works fine and it could be the battery needing replacement. • I have Google fiber with real world speeds of 900+ mbps up and down and yet sometimes the doorbell is a couple seconds to load. Or when someone rings the doorbell, the app can take about 4-5 seconds to show me the live footage. Two-way audio can be choppy or delayed too but honestly even my old Google Nest doorbell had choppy two-way. The Homebase 3 (S380) has worked well in connection with my cameras. I can expand the size with an SSD drive up to 16TB. I currently have a 1TB drive in and it gets me about three months of recording with one camera being 24/7. I did choose to not pair my indoor cameras with the HB3 as I found out that doing so causes you to lose access to certain features that come with particular indoor cameras. The main one being Privacy Mode where my E30 cams can turn off and spin around to face a wall. If I connect those to the HB3 then I lose Privacy mode ability. All footage is encrypted on the HB3 and even trying to read the SSD on a PC or laptop will just give you an error that the drive can’t be read. Good for privacy.
r/eufy · Recommend me a solar eufy camera for my chickens. For fixed position I have a couple of Eufy 2C cameras and they work well but they’re older. I hooked them to the solar panel accessory and have not had to charge a battery in probably 3 years. For pan and tilt, the SoloCam S340 works great. The human tracking works really well. You can have up to 4 preset positions so if you want to quickly focus on another part of the yard you just tap a preset. You can also touch and hold an area of the video feed and the camera will pan and tilt to that area to center it. I’ve had the S340 since November of 2023 and it is still going strong.
r/eufy · Any advice entering the Eufy ecosystem? To your second point, the whole benefit of cameras like Eufy or Reolink is that you don’t have to pay for subscriptions to access camera footage. Google Nest cameras with no subscription only let you see a certain amount of still images before they are deleted. This forces you to pay for one of their subscription tiers just to access recorded events. In theory, yes if the camera only uses an SD card then a thief could rip the camera down and you would be left with nothing. Your two options are place the camera high enough that a ladder would be needed for removal, or get a Homebase to store the footage inside. I don’t have experience with the two cameras you are looking at but I do have the S340 that does really good tracking of a person. The pan and tilt cameras are quiet enough that, depending on placement, a person would be hard pressed to notice they’re being tracked.

Solar, while it helps to keep the batteries on the S340 topped off, it doesn't have enough power to do 24/7 recording. I have both the E330 and S340 and I love the pan and tilt tracking, and zoom of the S340 so hopefully they can make a wired version that does 24/7 as I would probably replace the E330 that faces the front yard. * While the cameras have a nice amount of onboard storage, the Homebase 3 allows you to install an SSD drive for expanded storage, up to 16TB. There might be a perpetuator to "catch," but our professionally installed and monitored security is our first line of defense after non-electronic door locks. Our front-facing S340s are angled down so as to not catch vehicles driving by. You can do the same with people waiting for the bus. We unsuccessfully tried privacy zones to stop unwanted alerts. Angling the camera is by far more reliable.

After power cycling itself due to depleted battery, the cam returns to normal operation until the next event. Intermittent issues like this are incredibly difficult to troubleshoot and repair, if Eufy had the interest (which they don't).

Add a S380 Homebase 3 and add a lot more storage, up to 16GB SDD or HDD. All local. Cloud storage is optional. The app is to configure the cameras and display video with WiFi. The app connects to the cameras or Homebase 3 locally, via WiFi. The S340 and S380 can update firmware via the cloud. There is no Home Assistant integration for Eufy cameras. If Eufy is receiving any information beyond registration and firmware updates, it's without permission.

They did a refresh of the camera year later with a different panel. The 8W panel is great, full recharge in 2-3 hours of sun. During the winter it dropped to 30% battery but 1 day of sun took it to full.

Now, both my brand new only 3 month old SoloCam 340s are not tracking, playing events all the way through, or not recording at all! I spent 3 hours on their 24/7 chat troubleshooting to no avail, then they created a ticket for me, sent me an email asking for a billion things for me to video/take pics of/etc and send, sent everything including proof of warranty. They told me someone would contact me within 24 hours, got another email telling me to contact their 24/7 chat troubleshooting again, and I told them I've been with them for 7 years and they could call me! I know how to troubleshoot all of my cameras, I've done everything they've asked me to do, and it's pathetic that they no longer have a live person to get on the phone and help us troubleshoot our cameras. I have seven other 2C wireless outdoor cams, and they are all still working perfectly with and without the Homebase 380 Hub. A few years ago they went gone corporate! Now, you can't get anybody to help you at all. They only care about selling cameras, and products. There's no money in them helping us via technical support. I used to swear by them, but now I'll never buy another camera from them again. I have done everything from re syncing the cameras, the hub, cameras to the hub, uninstalling the cameras and reinstalling them, and of course restarting my WiFi modem, and NOTHING has fixed them. It's their stupid firmware updates. I'm going to disable the automatic updates in the Play Store app so they won't update anymore. I meant to do this before I bought the SoloCams, but I forgot. It's like Microsoft. When something is going good, they have to do a stupid update that messes everything up...

r/EufyCam · Eufy SoloCam S340 I would not go with Eufy anymore. Go with Tapo if you are shopping for a new eco system of cameras. I have gone from Foscam, then to Wyze, then to Eufy, and now transitioning to Tapo. Solar battery cams are great for mounting flexibility, however, they rely on a PIR sensor to activate their recording capability. PIR sensors are usually great when they are brand new, however, with time their sensitivity degrades and if you live in a warm climate, ambient heat can confuse them leading to false triggering or the ambient heat itself can keep it from being triggered from a person’s body heat. Wired cameras usually rely on the actual camera seeing a person or whatever object it is set to, no PIR sensor which makes them more reliable for detection capabilities.

When i get a motion notificaton and tap on it, it goes right to the video in a second, no more waiting and waiting and waiting. The app is setup different id say i like eufys app more but thats subjective. The most important thing is getting to a feed after notification and it does it so fast just like Ring and Reolink. The eufys340 is a nice little cam but way too many bugs, my spotlights stopped working on them too and i noticed each one is on a different FW version and i cant them both on one FW version which is really weird to me. Just too many issues with eufy

r/EufyCam · General use of the eufy s340 ? You'd need a reliable internet connection at the property for it to work. Assuming you will just have it as a standalone setup without homebase - the camera would just connect to the 2.4ghz WiFi on your router. If any guests decide to muddle around with the router - it may cause the camera to lose connection, so you'd need to have some form of plan on how to deal with such issues. In terms of monitoring should not be an issue, you can share devices to others so multiple people can access the camera from their own phones.

I brought it into the house and connected the Usb-c cable and it still did not charge until it warmed up. I believe the magic charging temp is 35 degrees. r/EufyCam · Any Advice getting into the Eufy ecosystem? You're going to get all kinds of answers. Any of the wireless cameras are going to have drawbacks. The POE cameras that are wired directly to a hard drive are going to be the best bet. We really like our S340 camera setup around the house. Mine are up high enough that someone would need a ladder to get to them but they would already be uploaded to the cloud by the time someone figured it out. I like the solar charging but we got close last week during the snow storm here in Maryland to having to pull the front yard cameras down and plug them in for a few hours. The winter time is rough with the direct sunlight so they're not staying mostly charged. It finally charged almost full one or two of these days in a row where we had plentiful sun. I like that I could use the Eufy system to do home security but I haven't read up at all on their monitoring portion. I wouldn't go without monitoring for home insurance purposes. The only thing that might be an issue for some is that the ecosystem is completely locked down from being able to use Google Home and Alexa type home services. You have to know which cameras and door locks and smart thermostats all work under those "hubs" before you start investing in one thing or another. I like the AI tracking on the cameras so that's why we went with the Eufy system. If I had to do it over again, I would probably pick the same thing and continue to keep my home security system separate. I wish Eufy had a thermostat because I would most likely get rid of my current alarm system if everything was under one roof.

We’ve actually expanded significant in the ecosystem because we did enjoy the initial camera products we had so much, and now we have smart locks on the doors, a vacuum, a smart scale, and a smart light (this last one was free, and while nice is definitely the lowest quality and the only one we wouldn’t “buy”). I’d agree with others that the hardwire products are always the “safest” bets for quality because batteries simply die, but I’ve found the charge life in normal conditions to be pretty decent. You can get away without the home base too but we personally enjoy the AI features from the cameras. The S340 and the floodlight variant (E340) are by far the best cams we have and we use regularly to watch our puppies play in the snow in the backyard, but they’re also genuinely great products. The “deals” they throw on their site genuinely can feel overwhelming and drive the “urgency” to purchase and I’d say to not feel it. Without seeing what they are currently, the best deals tend to come on the holidays so I’d expect them a bit better for Valentine’s Day if you can hold off, but the prices can be pretty good from Sam’s Club/Costco too and they sometimes run sales/bundle sales which are even better.

The Ring setup also does not solar charge below 32 degrees F. During winter, I have to periodically remove the batteries and charge them in the house. With the S340, I can run an extension cord to the camera and charge it that way. Although my Eufy cameras stay charged during cold weather better than my Ring camera, my Ring camera captures much more video as well. I'm not happy with the Ring camera in this regard.

The only way I’ve found to fix that is to go to the home base settings and turn off AI Empowerment for the affected cameras. (Essentially has the cameras do their own motion identification instead of the home base and for whatever reason that seems to respect zones.)

FYI - Thanks, May go that route. in talking to Eufy and others, if you convert the solar power to a plug in, good idea is to have the plug in on a timer so it only gets a few hours of charging a day. Constant charging will kill the battery quicker, then you need a new camera.

I think next, I move the camera down from 10' to maybe 8' off the ground.

When the deer in my field come at the camera it detects it fine but when going across the FOV it ignores them. I even have walked across the FOV and it does not detect me. My other cameras catch me when I barely come into frame.

Total shot in the dark thoughts: \- You've probably tried this, but setting detection areas to ignore trees/skyline to minimize noise (which might be what the software is ignoring) \- For sensitivity, I use mine just for humans but turned it down to 2 and seems to work fine. Not sure what you turned yours to, but you could try that too. \- Change the angle of the default position so more of the road on the right is captured, giving more surface area to detect \- Final idea is to unpair and repair device. Some people on this subreddit have mentioned its worked for other devices

r/EufyCam · Eufy E30 vs S340 for Same Price? I already have some wired E330 + HB3 kit and I really like the AI detection features and continous recording saved centrally to my Home Base. I was just wanting to compliment my existing fixed cams with some 360 pan tilt ones. For all intents and purposes the S340 seems like the better camera and I like the dual lenses but the lack of continuous recording is a real bummer compared to the E30/E42. The new S4 is off course the best of all worlds, solar, battery, and wired continuous recording but I don't want to pay $300 per camera, $100-125 per unit is probably the most I am willing to spend.

It’s rated to handle down to -4°F, and the solar panel helps keep it charged, though in extreme cold it might stop charging temporarily if temps drop below \~20°F. Still, once it warms up a bit it starts charging again. For winter, just make sure you mount it somewhere it can catch direct sunlight, keep an eye on battery levels during long cold stretches, and maybe bump the motion sensitivity so you don’t miss anything when it’s super cold. Overall, it’s solid and should give you way better stability than the E30 in low-sun, winter conditions.

I get notifications about 30-45 seconds after the camera has made a detection. I saw a notification capturing my meter reader today. All it connected to homebase 3 over starlink. I plan to expamd my eufy setup once th Halow devices are available.

r/EufyCam · Help me understand homebase From my understanding the HB3 creates its own 2.4Ghz (hidden SSID) wifi, if the camera is too far the connection struggles... Now, The HB3 has 2 modes "Performance" and "Standard". "Performance" is stronger and goes further. Just be aware you now have 2 wifi's and they can **interfere** with each other. the HB3 can cause your smart home devices (plugs, lights, etc) to start losing connection or slow to respond. I have HB3 and 6 outdoor cameras (2 S340's, 3 S220's and 1 E30)... Only 1 S340 and 3 S220's are connected to the HB3 (**"Standard Mode"**) because of the interference to my House Wifi devices. This setup is working good for me... 4 cameras are quick to respond with HB3 connection and the other 2 cameras and my smart devices have good connection to house wifi and respond fast also. I don't need all the different AI features... no cars driving through my yard, no pets, no crying babies, just person and/or motion detection will do. I really think the HB3 may not be necessary... unless you need to save a few months of video. I'm just sayin

r/EufyCam · Eufy indoor cam E30 4K with WiFi 7 router - setup fails. I've gone through 5 E30s to get two that work intermittently. All other cams work fine; multiple E220s, S330, S340, S350 and an E340 all function. Like 16 cams over 2 properties. The E30s are completely krangled and to boot refuse to multibridge to any of my 4 2.4Ghz capable networks. I hate them.

And the argus pt ultra doesn't have as good performance at day or night compared to the Eufy S340. A better comparison would be the Trackmix battery powered vs Eufy solocam S340, and the Eufy would still win there, because it has better detection and tracking. The trackmix looks a bit better at day/night, IMO, except when you are comparing IR night footage of both. I think they are about the same, maybe the Eufy is slightly better there.

r/eufy · Eufy S340 Solocam in cold weather? Hey. Yeah I did the solar one for the south corner of my home. But I have not had any luck getting it to charge all winter. I just shut it off and hope that when it warms into the 40’s-50’s it will start charging up the battery. Unless there is a connection issue. I won’t know. I’ve tried to turn on the panel to charge on sunny days but the percentage goes down.

r/eufy · Homebase 3 necessary for S340 camera or not? No home base needed though I got two annoying issues with them. Had 3 for 3+ months now. They kept showing as offline but would wake up if there are motion. Tested and validated with the units real close to router. The other issue is that they stopped charging at a certain percentage (one at 53 and one at 82). Support had me taken them down and USB charged them to full. It had not occurred yet after that.

The last downloaded update on the S340 they intentionally removed some Features including Pet motion detection and cut motion detection range in half. Both without notice and just confirmed by customer support that this deletion of service was intended. How can they do this?!?! ALSO: they've cut the onboard memory S380 in half from 16gb to 8 gb!! This is all unacceptable!!

That's the whole point of the Altas. You're talking about [this](https://www.eufy.com/products/t81701w1)? The Altas also has true color night vision (i.e. without needing a spotlight), it looks like the Eufy doesn't. A more valid comparison on the Reolink side would be the battery version of the [Trackmix](https://reolink.com/product/reolink-trackmix/). They're very similar in fact, since they both auto-track and they're both dual lens, with the 2nd lens being a fixed zoom lens.

Ich habe die Lösung von Eufy angewendet welche ich per Mail bekam: Der Sync Button ist bekannt dafür, das dieser ganz fest gedrückt werden muss. Oftmals wird der Button nicht feste genug gedrückt. Also drücke den Sync-Button so feste du kannst für 15 Sekunden, dann leuchtet die LED 2x und die Cam ist wieder online :-)

J'ai eu ce problème et j'ai passé des mois avec leur support qui est nul concernant cette question. C'est soit l'un soit l'autre tu le peux pas faire les deux. Mon conseil : j'ai viré la homebase et je mets tout sur carte sd en enregistrant H24. Je n'ai plus de lags, plus de problème si il y a un brouilleur, accès beaucoup plus rapide etc. Comme ça même si brouilleurs ça enregistrera comme du filaire.
