We made that switch a bit ago, bought a cuisinart drip coffee machine. The coffee from the drip machine is SO much better than Keurig. Not as convenient for when you just want a single cup to go but it really does taste better!

Get rid of that Cuisinart and do yourself a favor and get a Moccamaster!

Consumer reports had Cuisinart DCC-3200 as the top rated model with a 5 (out of 5) on brew performance. And this has Technivorms and Fellows on their list. Those get penalized on ease of use or ease of cleaning, or carafe handling, but also have 5 on their brew performance. I own the Cuisinart and was thinking about buying a Technivorm, then went on the Moccamaster sub and a fair amount of people saying their coffee was off and other Reddit users responding that there is a learning curve with Moccamasters. In any event, I decided just to stick with my current machine. I want tasty coffee at the end of the day. Not looking for a chore or any extra effort. Hope some of that is useful.

Other than the Mochamaster that others have mentioned, I’ve had a Cuisinart programmable 14 cup drip coffee maker for 6 years so far with no issues. I plan on getting the Mochamaster next.

r/Moccamaster · Is upgrading to a Moccamaster actually worth it if I’m fine with my cheap drip machine? →2026-01-25T18:02:04

I think if I'm honest with myself, I can't find a huge difference between drip coffee makers. These forums are filled with people willing to spend way more than me, on coffee stuff. Yes pour over can be better if you do it right, just take lots of practice. Espresso is great if your willing to experiment a ton and if you are adding milk, then it doesn't matter how crappy the shot is. And I just want a cup of coffee. The Moccamaster is well liked but the shower head is just stupid, but still may be worth it to some. I currently have the Zojirushi Zutto, because at the time it was SCA certified, but I cracked the carafe, but luckily not leaking. They want over half the price of the coffee maker for a replacement carafe, so if it receives further damage it goes in the trash. I looked at all the current SCA certified coffee makers and most have Amazon ratings of 4.0 or less which means the coffee geeks love it, but the common people don't. When it's time for a replacement, I'll probably go back Cuisinart as I've had great luck with them and they are well love by everyone except coffee geeks. That is just my 2 cents.

been there with the option overload. for that budget the [Bonavita Metropolitan](https://featherab.com/shopit?search_keywords=Bonavita+Metropolitan) is probably your answer. its one button no programming no timers just hot water and good showerhead design. got one for my mom who hates complicated gadgets and shes been using it daily for two years now. easy to clean too since the carafe lid comes apart and the basket is simple. ninja and cuisinart add too many features you dont need. bonavita just focuses on the basics.

Actual recommendation around $100: Cuisinart Brew Central 12-Cup (Model DCC-1200NASC in Canada). I've had mine for ~7 years and it's still kicking. Simple toggle switch on/off and a programmable timer which is nice for a wakeup routine, and big enough for guests which is nice. Theres another model I've been telling myself I don't need to buy thats 5-cup with a metal carafe, DCC-5570C, is a bit cheaper and looks simple as well. Cuisinart gets my vote anyway for the <100$ category. Hope this helps.

I'm not terribly qualified for this question but I've been drinking coffee for a long time. A good quality coffee maker helps but also, maybe just important is the quality of bean and how fresh the grind is. If you can spare some time, buy a burr grinder and whole bean coffee and grind your own. It'll cut down a little on the bite and acidity. Make it a more smoother brew. And with that you can experiment with different brew processes. A courser grind for cold brew or French Press. A more finer grind for moka pot (my favorite because it sort of produces a quasi espresso on your stove top), or medium one for your drip. But be warned: if you decide to go down this road, you'll likely never come back lol. I couldn't believe how many different coffee makers exist. My current drip is a Cusineart drip. It's fine. It's better than my crappy Mr Coffee drip because it has like a shower head style thing that drips the hot water over the grounds. It's got a bunch of features I don't use but maybe useful for some like a timer/ schedule.

honestly i feel you, the coffee maker market is overwhelming now. my last one died too and i just wanted something basic. the Bonavita Metropolitan is right at $100 and does one thing well - makes hot water evenly over grounds. no timers or screens to deal with. the showerhead design is solid and the carafe keeps coffee hot without a burner. i'd avoid Ninja or Cuisinart if you want simple, they pack in too many extras. [Bonavita Metropolitan](https://featherab.com/shopit?search_keywords=Bonavita+Metropolitan+drip+coffee+maker) is what i switched to and cleaning takes maybe 30 seconds.

Well, the $5 at the thrift shop Cuisinart seems to be working fine for the past ten years, but the actual BIFL coffee maker is the stainless steel French press. That makes better tasting coffee (IMHO) but needs something to heat water to use it. For some reason it was made by Nisson sometime in the early '80s, dunno if it's the carmaker Nisson or a different manufacturer but the French press is still going strong.

I do break out the Cuisinart when there's a lot of people over and they're adding creamer. it's fine, but noticeably levels below the moccamaster.

I’ve been through the exact same struggle! Ended up getting the Cuisinart DCC-3200 and it’s been a game-changer for me. Super easy to use, brews consistently strong coffee, and cleaning is surprisingly simple. Been using it daily for over a year with zero issues, and it still feels brand new.

Following up: We returned the Chefman and bought another coffee maker from Costco online. The Chefman produced a weak coffee with a plastic taste. We tried adjusting the heat, adjusting coffee grounds grind and amount, and using the "bold" setting. The chefman just didn't work out for us. The Cuisinart is doing great. Been using it for a few days with no issues. Great cup of Joe just like our last one. We highly recommend. I'll check back in whenever I get around to trying out the making over ice setting.  https://www.costco.com/p/-/cuisinart-brew-central-plus-14-cup-programmable-coffee-maker/4000372303?langId=-1

Just bought the Cuisinart Pure Precision drip coffee maker that was recently approved By SCAA. After reading reviews all across the internet, this seemed to have the best mix of high quality coffee at a decent price, without annoying shortcomings. Will try it out in a week.

Thoughts on the Cuisinart PurePrecision Pour Over? Seems to get really good reviews. Debating between that and the Oxo 12 cup. Kohls has 30% off plus $10 off home items right now so can get either for a pretty good price.
