r/RobotVacuums · what’s a good “No dock” robot voccume Look for a used or defective S5 Max. It's a carpet beast. Forget about the mopping function, it's worthless, but this thing will definitely vacuum forever. For defective, look for ones that says cliff sensor or Lidar. Lidar is super easy to replace, cliff sensor requires serious disassembly.

r/Roborock · Roborock (Saros 10) — 2 Month Experience I agree .Before i had S5 max .It was quite frustrating to fill because as it doesn’t even last more than a day .This new robo is much better.
r/Roborock · Roborock (Saros 10) — 2 Month Experience I haven’t had such issue up till now .I checked it has some kind of spring so that it bounces out whenever i push it .Maybe it has something clogged inside you can check .I have opened my previous roborock s5 max as it had some battery issues so it’s quite easy to open and check it .

r/Roborock · Returning my Qrevo Curv After 2 Weeks Of USE, 50 Sessions + - Honest Review Using it for 1 year now and I must say its good. Suction could be better (newer model Edge has better suction) but comparing to S5 it is day and night! Absolutely worth the money... Maintenance once per 2-3 month (base clean and etc) and water refill every week... (Depending on mopping frequency).
r/Roborock · Returning my Qrevo Curv After 2 Weeks Of USE, 50 Sessions + - Honest Review So far using it 3 weeks... It made a ball of hair in the middle of the duo divide rollers 2 times and left it behind in the middle of the room so I had to grab the ball of hair and trash it by hand... But my girl has really long hair... 0.9 meter (measured). Flipping the robot upside down and checking rollers there was almost no tangle on rollers (1 hair only literarily) I previously had S5 max (every cleaning needed unstuck rollers). I highly recommend the Curv for anti tangle of hair... It makes much difference in cleaning... Especially when your floors are full of hair always.. If you dont care of hair... Go to Qrevo master or pro its exactly same in cleaning performance... except the 0% (0.5% in reality) hair tangling feature...

r/RobotVacuums · Dreame x50 vs Mova Z50 Thanks and omg the fur - I understand the struggle!!! My s5 maxx does keep up with the fur in the sense that the bin doesn't clog up nor the filter so I should be ok I hope. What drives me nuts about the s5max is that it gets tangles and it gets stuck and it can't do carpet and mopping in the same run. Speaking of which I'm hoping the z50 transition easily between the surfaces even though its mops can't be dropped off and the roller can't be raised that high. It was hard to find info on this and the x50 seemed better suited. I just saw the x50 win a few of the vacuum tests in some of the German reviews which made me initially hesitat on the Z50. But I agree I think I'll give the z50 a go. It's a shame we don't have the v50 here! Finally, I've read lots of your posts in this community and they are super helpful thank you so much!

r/homeautomation · Why do robot vacuums still need so much hands-on effort? (Expectation vs. Reality) Agree! Roborock S5 Max and I feel your pain. I don't constantly watch it but have to manually prep the room first to lift up chairs and tables. It gets stuck on the legs of my desk chair usually. I always need to pause it half way through the job to empty the bin and detangle the hair with scissors by removing the roller brush. About 2/3 of the way through the job it has to dock and recharge for 3-4 hours. In total this is only moderately less effort than doing the house myself and the suction is not that strong so i have to go over the area rugs to get all the pet hair. An auto empty bin and a brush that did not tangle each time on medium length hair would be a big win. I don't know if there's anything better that isn't expensive

r/Roborock · Returning my Qrevo Curv After 2 Weeks Of USE, 50 Sessions + - Honest Review But overall happy with it? I just got it for 875 euro. Will retire my old s5 max. My old unit kept getting stuck, didn’t find back to the dock and many other odd issues lately. It’s done well for over 4 years, been cleaning after two babies and two women. Got the curvx today, will test it out tomorrow.

r/RobotVacuums · My experience with the Eufy X10 Pro Omni so far I had the same problem with roborock S5 max before, it can not go backwards because of the position of the rug and wheels were turning in the air. I recently bought qrevo curv and the mop lifting feature allows the wheels to touch the ground in the same spot and same scenario so you either need to move the rug a little bit or ensure the mops are lifted

r/RobotVacuums · My Review of the new eufy E25 Wondering about the brush, is it kind of a mop? Asking this because we have textured floortiles and looking for robocleaner which can clean them. Currently have the Roborock S5 max and you can see it doesn’t clean the deeper parts.

r/RobotVacuums · Sneak Peek: Vacuum Wars Review of the Ecovacs Deebot X8 Pro Omni I’ve been looking forward to your review of the deebot x8. However I couldn’t wait long enough lol. Upgraded from a 6 year old Roborock s5 max. Decided to go with the yeedi s14 plus, which is identical to the deebot x8 except for AI, camera feed, and detergent dispenser. Honestly I am floored (haha) with the upgrade to the s14 after having dealt with the s5max for almost 6 years. I was constantly emptying the dust bin manually and setting up and cleaning up the “mop” pad. Feel like I actually have a robot vaccum now that I have the Omni station and an actual usable mop. The mop roller on the yeedi was a big factor. I have not been impressed or interested in the spinning mop disc pads on most other options though I was hoping for Roborock to make the switch. The Vacuum portion and suction work as expected and side brush gets most edges and corners. Lot of hate for ecovacs on the internet, which is funny because most of those same people and reviewers (looking at you Just a Dad) give props to yeedi even though they are the same robots. 10/10 would recommend Yeedi s14 plus

r/Roborock · Saros 10R 24 Hour Review Cheers for that mate, we have 2 dogs and 2 kids (2 year old and 7 month old) so our house can get pretty dirty at the drop of a hat haha We do love our s5 max but constantly taking off the mop pads to clean them and having to empty the dustbin after every run gets tedious, having to unclip the mop so it can vacuum first without dragging the mop pad around and then forgetting to put the mop back in etc etc We have hybrid wooden floors and the s5 max just can't give a deep enough clean or get dog slobber or paw print marks off, I know these machines aren't meant to be used as a deep clean type of mop but I'm just hoping we will see a difference in mopping with some more 'scrubbing' technology I think the s5 max has a vacuum suction of 2000 pascals and these new machines are up around 18,000-20,000 pascals so potentially 10x more but I don't find the s5 max suction to be bad haha so I'm not sure how much better it can get! Also cleaning the brush roller often for the wife and dogs long hairs is very annoying and a bit gross so looking forward to the duo divide rollers too!
r/Roborock · Saros 10R 24 Hour Review I'm looking to upgrade from my S5 Max... should I be blown away by the difference? We use our s5 max everyday, and have done for the past 6 years

r/Roborock · Saros 10R 24 Hour Review I think it really depends on your usecase. If you don't have any pets, keep the room really tidy (no dog toys/clothes/random stuff on the floor/etc) and don't mind emptying/filling the water/dustbin.. then probably not. I don't think the actual pickup and mopping abilities of these robots have increased that much in the past several generations. Mopping a bit moreso because they basically scrub now but generally speaking the s5 max will mop at 85-90% for most normal stuff while this will do 95-98%. ___ The real benefits of these newer machines for my home is that when I go to bed at night, I don't have to worry that my dog left a few of his toys on the floor and I forgot about them. It navigates around them. I don't have to manually clean the brush everyday couple days of dog hair - it gets no tangles. I don't have clean the bin everyday of dog hair, it gets sucked out into a bag automatically. Cleaning performance is better.. but it's not like twice as good or anything. It's probably like a 15% improvement over the s5 - under normal circumstances (obviously if you have coffee stains all over your floor or a lot of dirt in corners for some reason then it's going to be more than that.. but how often is that happening?) So I think it just really depends on your household and what kinds of issues you're running into. For me it was a massive upgrade.
r/Roborock · Saros 10R 24 Hour Review While it worked I really enjoyed the X40. My biggest concern with these bots has been the hair pickup/tanglement issues. Ever since I got my Long Haired Shepherd - its been a battle to keep up with his hair. The Neato by far has the best PICKUP - but it was TERRIBLE with tanglement. The Brush would literally be covered in 2-3 days and need to be cleaned.. it would often jam after a week if I didn't clean it out. It also had no mopping capability. The S5 Max with the Bristle brush was decent at pickup - but it too would tangle and become a mess. That + the smaller bin would constantly need to be cleaned out. Mopping was okay but needing to manage it since no auto-dock wasn't fun. The S7 MaxV had the worst hair pickup with the stock rubber brush. Tangles were minimal but it didn't do well taking off the carpets (it did great on the hardwood/tile though). Swapping out the rubber to the bristle brush improved the pickup but increased the tangle problem - it also created a problem with auto-empty for me a few times. The X40 with the Tricut brush had all the benefits of the bristle brush of the S7 MaxV and the non-tanglement of the rubber brush. I'd still get tangles, but they were very very minimal - it did way better actually getting the hair off the carpet. I've read the X40 was better at obstacle avoidance but I really never had a problem with it on my S7 MaxV. Mopping and the cleaning of the mop pads was much better than the S7 MaxV. It was also quieter. I honestly would have kept the X40, as I loved it while it worked - but i ran into that docking problem and their support made me jump through massive hoops, spanning nearly 3 weeks, in order to get, what was initially just a replacement... but it was such a nightmare I ended up just telling them I wanted a refund, I didn't want the replacement anymore. And to be clear - it's entirely possible that Roborock's support is equally as bad, but I just haven't experienced that yet. And as it currently stands even the S5 Max still runs great 5 years later, despite having something like 1500 hours on it.

I tried Master and Pro and kept the Pro as I did not observe meaningful cleaning difference. “Performance is great” is relative. All Roborocks released last year are much better than my 3 years old S5 Max, but are they much better than each other? See Jamie Andrews’ reviews on Youtube where he tests vacuuming and mopping using a standardized approach. There is minimum difference in cleaning performance between Pro, Master or Curv at the end of the day. So, I believe Jamie instead of paid Roborock reviews.
