r/amazoneero · Eero 7 vs Eero Pro 7 I think I will go with the pro, it's not much more in price with my internet provider with the discount and someone said they had issues with the eero 7s wifi stability. Thanks for your recommendation.
r/amazoneero · Eero 7 vs Eero Pro 7 Looking at the retail stores in my area they seem to start from wifi 6 and wifi 7 routers. It's half price for me to get eero with my internet provider so it's more cost effective to pick one of these two.

r/amazoneero · Is it worth upgrading from 6E pro to 7 I would argue that moving from the Pro 6E to the 7 (not Pro/ Max) would be a step backwards, not forward. The Eero 7 is a dual-band device. You would gain wifi 7, but lose 6GHz. I would wait until the budget can support the 7 Pro or 7 Max. Alternatively, you could look at cabling (vs wifi) for those devices that need additional bandwidth.
r/HomeNetworking · OK to mix Eero Max 7 and dual-band 7? Yes, you can mix/ match Eero devices. Considering the size of your home and construction, and the location of the Max 7, you may be able to get away with one or two Eero APs. If you can connect the second via ethernet or MoCA, that's preferable. Devices will connect to whichever AP provides the best connection. If they connect to the Max 7 and support 6GHz, then you're going to see potentially better performance than the 7's. I'd recommend the Pro 7 over the Eero 7 if the budget supports it to get the third band.
r/amazoneero · Upgrade to 6e Pro, Eero 7 or another 6+ node? The higher the frequency range (ie: 2.4 > 5 > 6GHz) the more it is disrupted by walls and other obstacles. 2.4GHz is better to penetrate, but lower performance. 5/6GHz is better performance, but not as effective going through obstacles. So... in your case... depending on the size of your apartment, you probably only need one or two APs at most. The 6+ is woefully underpowered compared with the alternatives. My recommendation would be to take advantage of the sales currently going on and pickup a 2-node Eero Pro 6E setup. The Pro 6E is better than the Eero 7. Of course the Pro 7 and Max 7 would be better...but you've ruled them out. Even if you get two units, I would start with just one Pro 6E to start and see how that goes. IF you are still experiencing coverage issues after 24 hours, then add the second one to expand coverage.
r/amazoneero · Installed EERO 7 and wifi is slow First, you should give it a little time to ‘settle’. I’d give it overnight then test again. There are also some things you should look as such as MLO and if the Eeros are too close together. It’s possible that the Eero 6s needed to be closer than the Eero 7s.

r/amazoneero · Disable WiFi from Eero Pro 7? We've been using the 8 clicks method to disable the wifi on the eero 7 AP in our room (main router is eero 7 pro in the living room). I also noticed that the wifi wasn't turning off in the app, so contacted eero support. They did some testing and it apparently does turn off the wifi broadcast, but the app still says the wifi is active. I've found that if I disable it this way, no devices connect to that wifi AP (connected devices = 0), and the wifi analytics won't show up ("we're unable to fetch data, try pulling down to refresh). They need to do a bit of work on their app UI to display this state correctly I think, but it seems like the 8 clicks does indeed turn off wifi broadcast.

r/amazoneero · Eero 7 vs 7 pro Eero 7 is kind of WiFi 7 "lite." No 6-GHz band, which is part of the 7 spec. There are other benefits, but lack of the 6-GHz radio is showstopper. If your smartphone is relatively new, chances are it supports WiFi 7, or at least WiFi 6E, which also has the 6 band. Worth paying more for the 7 Pro, or falling back to the 6E Pro, which I use and is fantastic.

r/amazoneero · Eero 7 (not pro or max) shows 6 ghz in settings Yeah, I'm surprised that "hybrid" isn't on by default for the eero 7. As clients will never connect to it at WiFi 7 with it set to "standard" as WiFi 7 requires WPA3. I would think eero gets a lot of complaints from customers saying their WiFi 7 devices were only connecting at WiFi 6, thinking something was wrong with their eero 7.

r/amazoneero · Eero 7 Use Case? It will likely do better but you’ll need at least two, including one to replace your existing router. Mesh routers use dedicated bandwidth between each other for backhaul vs how an extender works. More expensive eero models have additional radios dedicated solely to that backhaul. There is also a lot you can do wrt optimized placement of the routers. If two eero 7s are not good enough, you’ll get better results further up the line with a model that has more/stronger radios.

r/amazoneero · Eero 7 question Wired — wireless — wired should work no problem.
r/amazoneero · Wired 6 pro or 7 It really depends here. If it was just wifi mesh then I’d say yeah.. but with a 2.5gb backbone, depends.
r/amazoneero · Wired 6 pro or 7 How big is the house? 5 maybe too many. But wired backhaul leaves the radios for clients. Eero 7 have dual 2.5gbps ports and are WiFi 7, though dual band. Max speed in WiFi is 1.8gbps Eero Pro 6 only have gigabit and are wifi 6, but tri band. If your switches and wired network is gigabit then stick to the 6.

r/amazoneero · Upgrade to 6e Pro, Eero 7 or another 6+ node? Best way to solve this is getting additional 6+ node. Single router will not work that well.
r/amazoneero · Eero 7 vs 7 pro The 7 pro is triband but to be honest unless you push your network quite hard you won't notice any difference. I have the standard Eero 7 and get amazing performance on a 1gb connection.

r/amazoneero · Eero 7 vs Eero Pro 7 I tried replacing my Deco P9s by eero 7s recently (3x, AP mode) and the speed was great but the WiFi connected eeros kept stuttering (affected phone calls, music, tv) so returned them. Experiences are very local, so take with grain.
r/amazoneero · Eero 7 vs Eero Pro 7 Also keep in mind that I am only using AP/ bridge mode which limits things even more. (I am very happy with my Synology router I don't want to change that part.)
r/amazoneero · Eero 7 and issues with iPhones and Echo Show I replaced my Deco P9 setup with eero 7s. Initially I was getting blazing speed & better coverage. Took a while to see that it stuttered, long delays that interfered with watching movies, games, phone calls. Reverted to the P9s (which have their own issues, nothing nearly as bad as the eeros). Will be returning the eeros today :-(.
r/amazoneero · Installed EERO 7 and wifi is slow Replaced a Deco P9 setup that started to have issues by eero 7 a week or so ago. I am using AP/bridge mode Now I can't watch an IG clip without a stutter, or carry a Whatsapp conversation between two rooms. I gave up on lichess. Have latest update and have played with MLO, steering and placement Am going to RMA the eero and return to the P,9, even with its dropping connections on one spot.
r/amazoneero · Installed EERO 7 and wifi is slow Just replaced a Deco P9 setup because it had dead spots by an Eero 7 setuup. I am using/have used both setups in AP mode. 3 units in both setups. House is 1,500 sq.dr. not big. Initially it seemed great. But it stutters and drops connections consistently. Have tried the tiny number of options (MLO, steering) to no avail. Will try a few more days, maybe try some relocation (I don't have a huge number of placement.options). But atm I am likely to RMA.

r/amazoneero · Installed EERO 7 and wifi is slow Happened to me. You gotta turn on Multi-link MLO on, but then the connection becomes unreliable. I returned the eero 7 for the eero 7 pro, all the speed issues disappeared even with MLO off. That 6ghz band makes a huge difference. But I swear the Eeros are overrated, my wifi 7 & keeps kicking me down to wifi 6 randomly. And the more eero u connect, the crapper the connection becomes for some bizarre reason. So mesh is overrated. Pull 1 out, whole house reconnects. 1 update files, whole house fails. Man I swear having 1 router from each brand runs better.
r/amazoneero · Installed EERO 7 and wifi is slow I remembered MLO increasing my speeds, but sites becoming choppy and janky. Just get a pro or something with a 6ghz band man. I swear mesh sucks, I'm currently running 1 eero 7 max and 1 Asus be88u. I have the eero 7 pro, but it's currently plugged out and thinking of selling later in May. Mesh setup honestly sucks, house is running better with 2 seperate wifi.
r/amazoneero · Just switched from Google WiFi (1st gen) to Eero 7 I returned my eero 7 for the pro 7 cause it couldn't cap out the speeds on wifi without multi link /MLO. It kept breaking so we needed the 6ghz band or wateva so I could cap out the wifi with MLO off.

r/amazoneero · Eero 6 pro e or eero 7?? If you are looking for the best value, wait for discounts on Amazon. The 3-pack 6e Pro was $330 and the 7 was $350 back in December. I got the 6e Pro and I've been pleased with the wireless backhaul and wifi performance around my house on my newer iPhone and iPad. I think the 6GHz band on the 6e helps. The 7 might be better if you plan on wired backhaul. It lacks the 6GHz band but it has 2.5 Gbps wired output compared with the 1 Gbps output on the 6e.

r/amazoneero · 7 Pro or Max any more stable than 7? It usually runs fine for several days without issues after a reset, so it'd be a long test, but that is something I could do. Thanks for the suggestion.
r/amazoneero · 7 Pro or Max any more stable than 7? I appreciate your comments regarding running the eeros in bridge mode behind the gateway. I had read much the same and had felt comfortable doing it that way. My gateway is connected directly to the primary eero. Behind the eero is an unmanaged switch. One of the cables coming out of the switch connects to an Ethernet plate at the wall, which runs to another plate across the house. That plate connects to the secondary eero. And I have a second unmanaged switch behind the secondary eero. Does that sound right?
r/amazoneero · 7 Pro or Max any more stable than 7? Yes, only seems to be on the WiFi side having issues. When it does happen multiple devices have issues simultaneously, regardless of where the devices are in the house, so I infer it’s probably not a flipping issue.
r/amazoneero · 7 Pro or Max any more stable than 7? I know, but not sure I need those features. It’s really just the stability issue that’s been a concern.

r/amazoneero · 7 Pro or Max any more stable than 7? Just went through something somewhat similar. Had 2nd gen eeros (x3 wired backhaul). Chasing down intermittent network issues. I eventually got my ISP to replace their fiber modem, upgraded to eero 7, everything was great! For a few hours, then back to issues. Turns out I had a bad network cable in the stack that would sometimes work, sometimes not. This caused one of my nodes to switch between wired and wireless every once in a while, causing general havoc and slowness on the network. Not saying that's your issue, but you've upgraded to fiber, so may as well drop the $25 and buy a multi-pack of cat6 or better cables and replace the randos in your stack.

r/amazoneero · 7 Pro or Max any more stable than 7? ATT has good gateways and DHCP/DNS support. They also have excellent security features. I use and believe that Bridge mode to an ATT gateway is correct. I suspect that somehow the primary and secondary Eero's are having an issue conflicting with each other. Perhaps the backhaul is not truly a connection from the primary THROUGH the primary to the secondary. Meaning that the Ethernet connection to the secondary is truly through the primary.

r/amazoneero · Researching Buying Eero System I had the 6pro and just upgraded to 6e I personally love the speed. Personally I would stay away from anything below the 6e you won’t like the speeds over WiFi. I am wired back haul and for me it feels better than wireless backhaul. With that being said I also set up my buddy’s house with eero 7 three pack he is at about 5k sq ft he upgraded from eero 6e but also upgraded from 1gb internet to 2gb. He also had the same issue with being finished on his house build so we used MoCA adapters and utilized his tv coax to get hard lines for a wired backhaul. Last as much as I like eero and the simplicity of there devices you should also check out Orbi they will be comparable in this space.
r/amazoneero · Researching Buying Eero System Performance is 2gb no issues way better than his wireless backhaul. We went with https://a.co/d/a9ETSme obviously you can use whatever you want. Also if you see performance issues check your splitters make sure they are rated for I believe 5-2450mhz. Best sure to ternate and unused cables or unused splitter ends to avoid bleed out.

r/amazoneero · Eero 7 802.11r, k and v support O.k good to know re 11r/k. Don't suppose you've found the option to force that instead of using WiFi mesh? As I don't want it rebroadcasting weak mesh when it will have a cable. It's phones primarily for them and one laptop. TV and desktop pc are wired. Partly because of the very solid walls of the house between the desktop and router.but also because more stable anyway. Even though the TV isayne 4 meters away with line of sight on the router in the same room. I'll have to experiment with my old ubiquiti ap AC pro on openwrt and factory fw. And see. I've not had any obvious issues with different access points doing 11r in the past. But it's been a hot second.and of course these are made by Amazon. So I expect them to have some anticompetitive quirks somewhere along the lines.

r/amazoneero · Eero 7 802.11r, k and v support It definitely supports 802.11R/K and has for about 8-9 years. I remember in the patch notes when it was either improved or introduced. All my devices that support .11R do roam properly between eero APs, and pick the best radio band. The only devices that don't are non-11R compliant. Phones, tablets, laptops etc roam as expected with zero drops. The one or two devices I have that don't, or frequently pick the wrong band etc, are Nintendo Switch consoles. Samsung TVs also tend to have issues with mesh wifi systems. Couple of things: One, you do not want to mix APs from different vendors with eero. You definitely will NOT get seamless roaming if you do that. And two, if you're looking for a safe deal on eero units, Amazon puts them on sale multiple times a year.

r/amazoneero · Almost ready to throw in the towel - Eero Pro Max 7 Tl;Dr Same issue. Bought eero 7 and switched my gateway to my other Max7. No issues for a days now. I have had similar issues with my Max 7. I have a 2800sq ft two story home. I had my gateway in my office and less than 20 ft away (granted through a closed door) my Apple TV 4K would have connection issues. My switch 2 similar issues in that area. It was a dead zone. I moved my other Max 7 around to offsite the eero bubble and to get better coverage with no luck. Turned off and on various settings. Still nothing. So I wired the two eeros together running Ethernet. Didn’t improve. I bought a eero 7 and put it next to my Apple TV and eero app says it’s a great spot (strange for a dead spot but I’m not an expert) so I wired my Apple TV to that eero to stop the connection issues. Eero 7 started to have weak signal….. so I switched my gateway to the other Max 7 that was upstairs. Haven’t had an issue for days now. Eero 7 is full signal. Other max 7 is wired upstairs. I only have a small dead zone on the stairs.

The Pros do go on sale from time to time. I think the last sale they were $499 for 2 of them and right now they are $699. (When I checked the jungle web) If you are using more than one and not running Ethernet backhaul between them, the pros will shine here too as they will “talk” to each other on the 6Ghz channel.

r/amazoneero · Eero 7 vs 7 pro I replaced an aging Eero 5 Pro with an Eero 7, three-pack for each. I have Fios 1 GB, and I had Ethernet run through the house it was built. It's a single-floor ranch of about 200 sq ft, with a basement of the same size. Fios comes into the base, so the gateway Eero is there. The other two are on the main floor, and I get great coverage throughout the house. For my needs, the doubled price of the 7 Pro didn't make sense.

r/amazoneero · Eero 7 vs 7 pro There is a difference between the eero 7 and the eero Pro 7. As others have mentioned, having the extra band will be helpful, especially if you have newer devices. I used to use stock Verizon Fios hardware until it started crapping out, then upgraded to 2 x eero Max 7's. The best buying advice I could offer is to wait for an eero sale. Amazon frequently puts their whole eero range on sale a few times/year, usually 20-30% off. If you're not in a rush to upgrade, I'd wait until then. For reference, I upgraded my parents' home wifi from eero 6+ to eero Pro 7 and the jump in speed and overall coverage was noticeable. If you are able to hardwire them together, even better. If you can provide more details about your home layout, size, number of floors etc. we can help steer you towards a suitable solution.

r/amazoneero · Eero 7 question That will work absolutely fine. If you a wire them altogether that would be even better. But if you can't that should work OK. If you can wire the one that's wired to your modem to the other one in your house then that one to the shed that would be best. It would reduce you latency and ping times.

r/Zen_Internet · Just received my eero pro 6e device and need advice TP link BE230, has 1 2.5 gbps port to wire the PC, and you own it forever, paying £10/pm for eero 7 in the long run without ever owing it doesn't make sense to me. This was the cheapest available at the time and ticked all my boxes.

r/amazoneero · Eero 7 (not pro or max) shows 6 ghz in settings Probably net fewer complaints than they'd get setting Hybrid mode by default, so much shoddy IoT junk out there people use that won't even handle WPA3 in Transition mode. 🤷♂️
r/amazoneero · Eero 7 (not pro or max) shows 6 ghz in settings Per-radio encryption "feature" is pretty new, it used to just be a single WPA3 toggle independent of radio, so yeah, likely just an oversight.

r/amazoneero · Eero 7 vs Eero Pro 7 You’re just throwing $$ away then. Get the regular 7, only when it’s on sale.
r/amazoneero · 7 Pro or Max any more stable than 7? You’re losing SQM and a bunch of other functionality in bridge mode.

r/amazoneero · Question, I have a Eeros 7 pro The room next to the pro doesn't get good wifi signal either. Its better in the living room the router is in the main bedroom. But its also just on the other side of the wall and little past that the wifi drastically drops off. I got two mesh routers to help boost the wifi; but I can't put them in bridge mode without it auto putting the pro on bridge mood too..

r/amazoneero · 6E or 7 or 7 Pro ???? My advice is the same, wifi 7 or 7 pro is overkill for you. You would be better off with the 6 pro if you can get it, 6E may not be too bad, and you would be best trying to wire upstairs/office to basement.

r/amazoneero · 6E or 7 or 7 Pro ???? I'd pass on the 7 since it's only dual band. The 7 Pro is basically the newer version of the 6E. You might want to make sure your issue isn't your Internet provider first.
r/amazoneero · 7 Pro or Max any more stable than 7? Make sure the wired connection for the 2d eero passes through the first eero. I can't tell by your wording if that's the case or not.

r/youfibre · WIFI 7 Hub VS ASUS ZenWiFi Pro ET12 (2000 gbps) Thanks for getting back to me mate. I changed around the Eero 7 and using the Eero 6 pro e for router. I switched off the Eero 6 and put the Eero 7 there instead of Livingroom. Still got the eero 6 extender connected to them in the hut. It’s definitely helped with the coverage but would still like more coverage (speeds) in hut. Should I try getting another Eero 7 or am I best to get another Eero 6 pro e???
r/youfibre · WIFI 7 Hub VS ASUS ZenWiFi Pro ET12 (2000 gbps) Could be a silly question mate but I’m not getting good coverage on the 1000 contract. Am wireless with eero 7 as main router, eero 6 pro e in livingroom and a eero 6 in kitchen and in hut in manhunt in garden. I’ve got an engineer to come have a look on Friday. Would I be aswell asking about putting me onto the 2000 contract?? Would that definitely help with the coverage for the rest of the eeros??

r/amazoneero · 7 Pro or Max any more stable than 7? It’s only wireless devices having issues? The eeros should still be working as a mesh if they are setup together in the app, so your devices should not drop due to aggressive renegotiation, as long at the AT&T is not serving up the same SSID. Could be marginal overlap, causing drops as they flip back and forth between the eeros. Try them in a fully functional eero config and see if they perform better.

r/Ubiquiti · Is a UniFi Express 7 overkill for just a regular household? Also, you can always return the eero to amazon if you dont like it. With Ubiquiti its more complicated and you get your return minus a 15% fee.
r/Ubiquiti · Is a UniFi Express 7 overkill for just a regular household? Both. It’s basically plug and play. If you want something very user friendly and basically no configuration needed the eero is great. If you want more customization go for ubiquiti. But there is a huge difference in price and if you only want it for normal user wifi then you wont use all its features so i would say eero.
r/Ubiquiti · Is a UniFi Express 7 overkill for just a regular household? If you really just want a simple set up maybe look for an amazon eero 7. I had it before switching to Unifi and I really only switched because I wanted to add camaras and a NAS to my home so Unifi was my option. The eero 7 is more than enough, just check how many you need to get for your home. I had one in the basement, one in the first floor and one in the second floor and the coverage was great

r/amazoneero · Eero 6+ and Pro 6E Thoughts? I was a fan of my 6+’s and found a good deal on 6e’s. I’m starting to have more 6e devices and upgraded my home network backbone to 2.5 so it made sense. Very happy so far but agree with others, may want to look into the new 7’s for future proofing. Keep in mind the newest router gens are always super inflated price wise, so I always buy a little behind and it’s worked well for me.

r/amazoneero · Eero 6+ and Pro 6E Thoughts? We don’t really know the 7 performance yet until some people post results, but it looks like the Pro is about twice as fast over wifi. But the 7 should be good for a 500mbit connection, especially if you have wired back haul. The Pro will just have more headroom if your ISP increases your speed.
r/amazoneero · Eero 6+ and Pro 6E Thoughts? I would avoid them and get 7 or 7 Pro

r/orbi · Orbi 770 versus Orbi 850 (RBK853) - wifi range to satellites? Thanks for the additional details and feedback. Hopefully you're enjoying the 970. Yes, I am leaning towards trying it out. Right now I can get the 770 3-pack brand new for a great price after sale price and coupon, so I may just try it out and compare it (just a bit of a hassle to switch my setup and switch back if it doesn't work out, but think it is worth a shot. EDIT - I just checked out BestBuy reviews for the 770 (again) and it has a over 20% 1-star reviews and almost 10 pct 2-star reviews. :( Some examples user reviews from Best Buy for the 770: Reviewer 1 *- "the speeds and range were really no better than my Orbi 753 system. The Eero 7 is much faster"* Reviewer 2 - "*Would not purchase again. Bought to replace 5 year old netgear nighthawk equipment. This was not a upgrade, coverage is not better and intermittent connectivity is a issue. Will drop on some things but not other then vice versa while sitting beside each other and connected the same way. "* Reviewer 3 - "*I had an existing Orbi AC1300 system with 2 satellites. I put the new 770 devices in the exact same spots in my house (which does have some brick interior walls) and had nothing but problems... slow speeds, weak signal, questionable handoffs, etc."* I am used to seeing some users with complaints / issues (even for products like my Orbi 853 which has been stellar); however the 770 seems to have a disproportionately high percentage of users saying it does not work well in terms of range or stability. Let me check more reviews again elsewhere (had done some research a couple of months ago on it, but need to refresh my memory). Assume you had no issues with your 770?

r/amazoneero · Single Max 7 and 6 Pros or TP-Link Deco BE63/65? I can’t get my speed up on these routers! I have 2.5gbs symmetric att fiber, eero app never reports more than 800mbs down and 95mbs up. WiFi speeds never faster than 500-600mbs down even when using WiFi 7 devices. Att router is in pass through and always reports full speed directly. I’m also getting no help from eeros tech support or Reddit.

You should NOT have your Eero in bridge mode. You put the ATT gateway in IP Passthrough mode and disable the firewall and turn off the WiFi radios on it.
