r/projectors · Hisense M2 Pro or Xgimi Horizon Ultra 4k According to this well respected reviewer, the M2 Pro is actually quite a bit brighter than the Flip 4K in the real world. XGIMI are referring to the totally impractical Boost mode with the 1600 lumens hype: [https://www.mondoprojos.fr/2026/07/07/test-xgimi-elfin-flip-4k/](https://www.mondoprojos.fr/2026/07/07/test-xgimi-elfin-flip-4k/) (Scroll down for the English version.) In a nutshell: Flip 4K M2 Pro Standard 823 946 FIlmmaker 817 1011 SDR 695 834 This also makes sense given their relative power draw (57W vs73W).

r/projectors · Hisense M2 Pro or Xgimi Horizon Ultra 4k Not sure what serious reviews have come out for the M2 Pro, but it isn't a bad model. Just not great for the price. At $1,000 you can get the Nexigo Trivision Ultra (refurb) which blows both models away, completely. The Horizon models tend to have pretty weak contrast until you get to their Horizon 20 series. So, I'd skip the cheap Horizon. The Elfin Flip 4K from them is in a newer class and has much better contrast then their older models. It's also brighter than the M2 Pro. JMGO has some decent options as well. Inexpensive, but more of a pain to setup, is the Optoma PH31 which may be the best deal going right now.
r/projectors · Optoma PK32 vs Hisense M2 Pro How much are these models? At the $1,200 price point, there is no way you shouldn't just get the Nexigo Trivision Ultra. It is FAR brighter than the models you listed. It has no zoom, but the 1.27 throw ratio is very close to the Hisense and losing a bit of light to make adjustments is going to have almost no impact at all in the real world. You have light output to spare! Plus, you can drop the light output to lower fan noise. [https://www.projectorcentral.com/NexiGo-TriVision\_Ultra-projection-calculator-pro.htm#calc](https://www.projectorcentral.com/NexiGo-TriVision_Ultra-projection-calculator-pro.htm#calc) The Horizon 20 from XGimi is a better choice if budget allows... [https://www.projectorcentral.com/XGIMI-HORIZON\_20-projection-calculator-pro.htm#calc](https://www.projectorcentral.com/XGIMI-HORIZON_20-projection-calculator-pro.htm#calc) It has the zoom range you actually need, and an incredibly good image for the money. XGimi also tends to have pretty solid audio onboard. I believe both models are covered in this review... r/projectors · Finally! My first Laser Projector! Hisense M2 Pro It arrived yesterday and got to test it for a while. It’s AMAZING. It’s quiet, it’s portable and the brightness is just mind blowing. Even with sunlight still on, and with lights on in my room the image was perfectly clear and colorful. It’s my first laser projector as I said so I really don’t have any other model to compare it to, but it’s a HUGE leap from the generic Amazon projectors I’ve owned before. I’ll post a more detailed review during the weekend, but so far it was worth every penny
r/projectors · Finally! My first Laser Projector! Hisense M2 Pro That’s just a whole different level :O! The NZ800 sells for about 15K euros in my country (Mexico) and the Hisense I got cost me ~870 euros . They are different categories 😅
r/projectors · Finally! My first Laser Projector! Hisense M2 Pro Definitely the best projector I’ve ever had. The brightness is amazing, the fans are really quiet, and the image quality is just perfect. There is some really light -almost nonexistent- speckle effect tho but only when the screen is like completely white. The fact that I’m using a white blackout curtain as a screen probably doesn’t help either. But honestly, I don’t notice it at all while watching movies.
r/projectors · Finally! My first Laser Projector! Hisense M2 Pro Yes! 4 meters will give you about 140-150” of projection. And it really looks bright
r/projectors · Finally! My first Laser Projector! Hisense M2 Pro Actually pretty well. Obviously daylight is stronger than the projector and you’ll notice a difference between day and night but it’s watchable during daylight :)
r/projectors · Finally! My first Laser Projector! Hisense M2 Pro It was 1,040 dollars. The screenshot is showing Mexican Pesos 🙌🏻
r/projectors · Finally! My first Laser Projector! Hisense M2 Pro Yeah! I’m expecting that during the day but let’s see how it goes I’ll be using it mostly during night time so i won’t notice it 🤞🏻

r/projectors · Hisense M2 Pro or C2 Base There is a fan noise, but it is right next to my head (like 12") and I only hear it really when it first boots up and there is no sound. If it was a meter away from me I do not think it would be audible at all when there is something playing. image quality blew away my expectations, I bought some 4k 100" pull down screen for £80 off amazon and it works really well. I have never owned a projector before so I have nothing to compare it to but me and my partner love it and regret nothing, it's one of our favourite purchases in a long while. It just worked flawlessly out of the box.
r/projectors · Hisense M2 Pro or C2 Base it's great honestly I am in love, I have it about 2.2meters from a 100inch 16:9 screen and its so pretty and the auto keystone/focus features all work flawlessly. Even in the daytime with the blinds closed it's more than watchable (not as good as in the dark but perfectly serviceable). I will say much like the reviews it suffers when it comes to the blacks but at an entry level tri laser price point I'm more than fine with it. no ragrats.
r/projectors · Hisense M2 Pro or C2 Base thanks for the reply I went with the m2 pro in the end as it's for the bedroom and will be mostly used in the night so the optical zoom and colour correct was worth it over the brightness. (I hope so anyway it's my first projector and I may have just bought into what I have read! xD)

r/budgetprojectors · Budget 4K Projector Comparison: JMGO N1S 4K Original vs Refreshed (1100 vs 1700 ISO) Yeah, those are all fair points. The optical zoom and full 360° rotation on the M2 Pro are genuinely useful, especially for permanent or high mounted setups. Dolby Vision is nice too. The N1S 4K’s strengths are more on the portable side, smaller size, very fast autofocus and keystone, Google TV, and that eye protection feature. For moving it between rooms or travel it does feel easier. Appreciate the detailed thoughts. Always interesting hearing from people who’ve lived with both types of projectors.

r/budgetprojectors · Budget 4K Projector Comparison: JMGO N1S 4K Original vs Refreshed (1100 vs 1700 ISO) > I’m excited for its optical zoom which the JMGO doesn’t have. Yeah, that's one of the things that I like (and find very handy to have) with the Hisense M2 Pro. Also, the Hisense's built-in stand allows full 360 degree rotation along the vertical axis; I have mine on a wall bracket high up and the M2 Pro swiveled over 180+ degrees; the N1S 4K would require ceiling mounting (or plopping on its head). Dolby Vision on the M2 Pro is also nice. Still, I do see advantages aside from price with the N1S 4K. I have an Apple TV hooked up to my M2 Pro; the Hisense VIDAA OS/store is not something I'd want to have to use. Google TV, OTOH, I could live with. The N1S 4K also seems more travel or room-juggling friendly: smaller size, *much* faster auto-focus and keystoning (I know, we all hate this, but if you're not permanently mounting I think it's a plus to have fluid support here), as well as an eye protection feature that actually works in a reasonable way. (And I love that you posted your detailed thoughts and video of the refreshed vs. original N1S 4K!)
r/budgetprojectors · Budget 4K Projector Comparison: JMGO N1S 4K Original vs Refreshed (1100 vs 1700 ISO) Sounds like a great upgrade to an already great projector! I don't have an N1S 4K myself, but was seriously kicking the tires on it last year. Ended up going for the Hisense M2 Pro instead; love it but the typical sales pricing on the N1S 4K is of course very appealing, along with the frequent option to bundle a screen, stand or pair of 3D glasses for free. Only reason I selected the Hisense when I finally pulled the trigger is because it was offered by Amazon with an interest-free payment plan, which helped both ease the pain and accelerated my acquisition timeline. There are some things I really like about the M2 Pro that the N1S 4K doesn't offer, but then there are things that the N1S 4K offers that I wish the M2 Pro did. And at their respective prices, I do feel like the JMGO is the obvious choice between the two. Do the product boxes say 1100 ISO vs. 1700 ISO lumens on them, to easily identify one from the other?

r/projectors · Optoma PK32 vs Hisense M2 Pro I got the M2 pro a couple weeks ago. For cartoons and news or sports during the day its fine and watchable on a wall. Its not 4000 lumens. In the evening when the lights are low, its awesome. Build in OS is fine too. And for me a huge plus was the power cord, surprisingly. Those huge chunks of adapters are annoying, this is just 1 cord making it much easier to relocate.

r/projectors · XGIMI Horizon Ultra vs Hisense M2 Pro – which is better for a fixed ceiling setup (120”, dark room)? I would feel comfortable recommending it considering your setup. However, I want to be conservative and not recommend it against the Xgimi, specifically. Since you would be getting such a good deal on the Xgimi, I can't say whether that would be the superior option.
r/projectors · XGIMI Horizon Ultra vs Hisense M2 Pro – which is better for a fixed ceiling setup (120”, dark room)? Unfortunately I have no experience with the Xgimi, so I'll just say something about the M2 Pro that I actually own to possibly help out a little. I'm sorry if this post is not useful to you, which would be understandable since you're looking for comparisons specifically. I think 120" with decent image quality is doable on this projector, but I would only do it if you don't have to use the keystone feature. Your setup (dark room and a fixed ceiling mount) does seem optimal, so I think it would be fine. At that size, keystoning washes out the image too much and the 1300 lumens is not quite enough in my opinion as keystoning isn't using all of the available brightness on the image itself. In a light controlled room without keystoning, the contrast and black levels are good. We're not talking OLED blacks of course, so it depends on what you expect. The colors overall are excellent to my eyes with the right settings. It's a suitable projector for games as the input latency is low enough (with game mode and DLP Turbo mode enabled; note that the latter completely disables the keystone feature) and I haven't noticed any other problems either. You're limited to 60 FPS at 4K, but higher refresh rates are available at lower resolutions. There's even a 240 Hz mode at the projector's true native resolution of 1080p, although the PS5 doesn't support that. I personally find it too blurry to enjoy compared to the 4K mode though. Also, I would note that the PS5 will default to 4K at 120 Hz. This will not actually be 4K, however, as at 120 Hz the projector downscales the image. Based on the Xgimi's specs alone, I think the M2 Pro is a bit more suitable for gaming, but you could probably get a decent gaming experience out of the Xgimi too. Really the main weakness of the M2 Pro is the fairly low brightness. I would only get this projector if you can make the room very dark indeed. The Xgimi is much brighter according to the specs. I consider the software to be another drawback, but you mentioned that the smart features are not important to you. The menus are fine, but I would warn against the smart features of this projector. They were fine out of the box, but I have had some problems with them ever since a firmware update. The firmware update also locked out some settings in certain picture modes. Perhaps it is to optimize those picture modes, but I thought it was a bit strange since the settings were originally available.

r/projectors · XGIMI Horizon Ultra vs Hisense M2 Pro – which is better for a fixed ceiling setup (120”, dark room)? Thanks a lot for the detailed reply, that was actually very helpful. Your points about brightness and keystone are especially relevant for me. In my case the projector will be ceiling-mounted permanently, perfectly aligned, so no keystone correction at all will be used. The room is fully light-controlled and always completely dark, so I’m less worried about absolute brightness and more about contrast, black levels and sharpness on a 120” screen. Good to hear that the M2 Pro holds up well at 120” in a dark room without keystone and that contrast and colors are solid in that scenario. OLED-level blacks aren’t my expectation, but I do want to avoid washed-out dark scenes, which is one of my concerns with brighter projectors. The low brightness and the software quirks you mentioned are noted, but since I’ll be using an Apple TV and external audio anyway, the smart platform isn’t a deciding factor for me. Overall, your experience actually confirms that the M2 Pro could be a good fit for my use case, as long as the room stays very dark and alignment is spot on. Thanks again for taking the time to share your real-world impressions.

What kind of screen gain do you think is needed if at all? Personally I like the portability, and it would be nice to move this room to room from a 90" projection to 120" in my main room. r/projectors · Horizon Ultra vs M2 Pro vs LG HU70LS The XGIMI HORIZON ULTRA is a solid unit that kind of does it all. It’s very bright, so you won’t have any issues there. Its contrast isn’t as impressive as its brightness, so blacks look a bit grey in a dark room, but for a bedroom setup it still does the trick and probably won’t bother you. It also isn’t very noisy under load, so it shouldn’t be distracting if you’re watching with the volume down at night. Input lag at 60Hz is fine for casual gaming. If you care more about gaming and newer features, the Hisense M2 Pro is worth a look. It’s not quite as bright, but it has more modern gaming options (up to 120Hz/240Hz at 1080p) and supports Dolby Vision, so it’s the more advanced choice if higher frame rates or future consoles/PC gaming matter to you. And considering that you can get it for less than the Ultra, it might be the way to go.

r/projectors · Lightweight alternative to Hisense C2 ultra For what it's worth, I have both the N1sk and the M2 Pro. I'm not cognizant of the laser speckle, so it's a non-issue, but here's how the M2 Pro fares in relation to the JMGO from my perspective: \- Seems a little brighter AND sharper (see the Hookup's latest youtube project review for why the latter might be. happening) \- Even though the M2 allegedly has better colors, I haven't been able to dial it in yet. The reds are just too robust for me (like neon on fire) \- The interface on the M2 is much more responsive, which is a huge quality of life factor for me (the N1sk is fine, but there often is a very noticeable lag from one I push to select something and when it actually happens, to the point that I'll often go past what I was aiming for because I pushed the input too many times as it lagged) \- The M2 definitely is bigger (and uglier), but it's not enormous in relation to the N1sk; however, functionally they feel pretty similar with a like-minded form-factor and gimbal setup \- The M2 is MUCH louder; I don't know if the sound is better (yet), but I actually had to turn on closed captions with the N1sk if there was ambient noise in the backyard, and that's not an issue for the M2 Pro) I'm not seeing a huge difference in contrast, but in a side-by-side I bet the JMGO is a little better
r/projectors · Lightweight alternative to Hisense C2 ultra Thanks for the feedback. I don’t think I’m susceptible to the rainbow effect so that may not be an issue, but I didn’t realize the contrast was worse. That could be a bummer.

r/projectors · Lightweight alternative to Hisense C2 ultra I kept the jmgo and returned the m2 pro. There's basically no difference in brightness but the jmgo has better contrast, no laser speckle, and yes it's much more compact
r/projectors · Lightweight alternative to Hisense C2 ultra Yes, it's just a much better overall picture and package. Hisense OS Vidaa is just so much better than Google TV

Only if you´ll go up massive in Screen Size. Up to 100" basically EVERY LCD (!) TV will look better than a Projector! And for over 100" you should choose another (brighter) Projector!
The Hisense is OK for 100" but not really bright enough for 120". Get the BenQ TK705 for 120".
The M2 Pro is NOT bright enough for 120"! You NEVER should run a Projector on "Full Brightness" - especially if you want the best Picture Quality out of it!
The M2 Pro is not bright enough for 120". What Screen do you have? It also has the new big(ger) 0.65 DMD Chip inside.
But NOT for a 3 Meter Screen!
The M2 Pro ist not bright enough - by far - for 130"! Exact Screen Model and Size? Where are you located?
Its not bright enough for 120"! You´ll need 2000+ ANSI Lumen for 120".
