r/projectors · Hisense L9Q Delivered! It’s worth it. It’s so bright. The lights in my house stay on now for the kids watching tv. That’s worth it if nothing else 😂
r/projectors · Hisense L9Q Delivered! Just the major one that is apparently installed before shipment now. Dramatically improved the blacks.
r/projectors · Hisense L9Q Delivered! Update made it flawless on contrast
r/projectors · Hisense L9Q Delivered! No - it’s noticeably different color on the DV. I’ll let you know when I get the update.
r/projectors · Hisense L9Q Delivered! The is thing blows the epson out of the water on every margin. The DV is a little yellow / grey, but I’ll wait for the update for final judgement.
r/projectors · Hisense L9Q Delivered! Needs about 20-24 inches

r/projectors · Hisense L9Q Triple Laser Ultra Short Throw UST Projector Review @ ProjectorScreen.com While i get that it's supposed to be a brightness oriented UST, still for such a price it could of had at least a basic static iris to greatly boost the contrast. Hopefully the P3-pro successor will have a new iris and laser dimming because right now Valerion and Nexigo are totally crushing Hisense at those things.

r/projectors · anymore reviews of L9Q? Right so that was an important factor of was concerned with. My living room is about 20x20. I sit about 13' from the screen. I have a corner unit with windows from floor to ceiling about 12' tall. I have both sheer curtains and black out drapes. Currently using the projector with the drapes closed. During mid day there is some light creeping through and also from my kitchen area with just blinds. It's not terrible but I do feel it's could use the extra lumens sometimes. I like the dolby vision I max sort of features on the px3. But that's also source dependant. The px3 does an overall excellent job during daytime viewing. For the extra 1600 $ not sure it's worth it. Btw for the record projector screen. Com are great to work with. I didn't get my projector from them but I did get the screen and the first one had some weird damage going on from what I suspect was an open box but they quickly replaced it with zero hassle. Definitely worth checking these guys out. All for Brian.
r/projectors · anymore reviews of L9Q? I'd like to hear your thoughts on the LQ9 as well. I currently have the PX3 and really like it. It is my first projector which I'm using a Spectra Vantage 120 alr screen. I like a lot about it. I did check out the LQ on paper but at the moment can't remember other than cost why I didn't go with it.

r/hometheater · What would your dream home theater setup be in a great room with a $20,000 budget? Thanks for the opinion. Perhaps our living room isn’t the best place for a good theater setup. We don’t have a better option though. I’m looking at a Hisense L9Q UST projector which is about 6k. Maybe I’ll buy that or an other UST and build appropriately around that.

r/projectors · Best projector for watching sports in a bright room? if you have the higher end budget available currently the best bright room UST is the Hisense L9Q. There motion handling is currently the best. You can go all the way up to 200" with this projector so you have a lot of performance room. If you want to save some money the Hisense PX3 Pro is also a great option. Does this budget also include a screen? If you match these projectors with a nice Fresnel UST screen you will have a very watchable image.

r/projectors · Best projector for watching sports in a bright room? It is possible imo but looking good is subjective. Based on your use case of watching sports and playing video game, imo it's possible to use during the day as black level and contrast doesn't seem like a concern for your use case. So if you simply watch bright content and don't watch anything with black scenes etc then imo it's fine. So can consider hisense solution - l9q ust with their 2.8 gain alr screen.

r/projectors · Hisense CES 2026: New XR10 and PX4 Pro Laser Projectors First Look Ok, I just saw a couple videos from CES tonight and according to the Texas Instruments rep at CES the L9Q uses the new SST DMD and it is 0.47" chip. However, from the forums there were complaints that the L9Q did not reach the claimed contrast Hisense had advertised but it did reach the brightness (or close enough). To me that implies the DMD delivered the light as expected but the light dump was worse in the L9Q. Going forward I'm pretty excited for the new to DMD and driver that should bring higher brightness and 4k@120 hz.

r/projectors · Hisense CES 2026: New XR10 and PX4 Pro Laser Projectors First Look That unnamed 4K-120 UST looks VERY much like the L9Q... a successor, perhaps an "L9R?" If that happens I'm *sold.*
r/projectors · Need Help UST Shopping Yeah the L9Q is calling to me too. Once I read 5000 lumens, I was like, *"Damn, I want!"* I'm guessing those lumens will make it $5000+, however. 😞 That and the contrast ratio is only 5000:1 I think I saw? That seems low to me...

r/projectors · 4k projector for under 6k I have had the 5050ub since 2022, and I agree with you, it’s kept me satisfied all this time. I’m glad I went with it back then because it’s held up really well especially considering how quickly display technology is evolving. If I were to upgrade, it would be for 120 fps, higher lumens and better darks. I also can’t get 150” in my current setup, so I’m leaning towards UST. All my research points towards the Hisense L9Q for the best of everything. The L9Q would actually fit within your budget

r/hometheater · can anything beat the LS11000? Ive been very happy with my PX3-Pro and 120" screen. I don't have any experience with the traditional Espons or JVC's to compare to. I do have a Sony Bravia 9 and A95L though as well which a lot of people really love for the pq. Those displays are obviously better than the PX3 Pro but it aint too far off. I've had zero issues with my px3pro and the price was right. The jump up to the L9Q for twice the price doesn't seem worth it.

r/hometheater · can anything beat the LS11000? Currently using just the onboard Google TV suite of apps and clarity and motion are excellent. No hot spots or edge dimming sir other aberrations. Ridiculously bright, so perceived contrast is also quite good. I plan to add an Xbox and next gen AppleTV when available. Very excited to see how they do.
r/hometheater · can anything beat the LS11000? I have the Hisense L9Q and a 180” screen with a 1.3 gain in a light controlled room. It’s phenomenal. Non ALR screen with dark flat painted walls and ceiling. The hype is real if your budget allows.

r/projectors · Hisense L9Q Delivered! I sent you a DM. Im really curious what serial number your unit is. I purchased mine form Amazon. Did the return and purchased a new one. They repackaged the old one an resent it as new. Since them I entered Amazon purgatory. The merchant worked to replace the defective unit and now I have an amazing projector. Its really awesome without that noise but you are describing EXACTLY what I experienced with my first one.
r/projectors · Hisense L9Q Delivered! Have you noticed your L9Q making a noise in addition to the standard fan noise after running for 30 minutes or so? We describe it as an etching sound? Almost like a fan blade hitting something very very light.

r/projectors · Hisense L9Q Delivered! My L9Q was delivered yesterday, and unfortunately it shows the same problem. After about ten minutes, during the playback of HDR content, the unit starts to produce a distinct rattling noise – it sounds similar to the read head of an old hard drive. This noise definitely does not come from the fan; it seems to originate from the laser section. I will therefore request a replacement unit. If the replacement shows the same issue, I will withdraw from the purchase and request a refund. The noise is simply too distracting to use the device properly. Are there any other units affected by this problem?

r/projectors · Hisense L9Q Delivered! I need L9Q owners to chime in! I bought the Nexigo Aurora Pro MK2 based on "The Hook Up" YouTube channel. The black level is really good, but I not happy with the daylight performance, as well as the yellow tint in 3D mode. I am now on the fence on the L9Q. Since I don't have any local places to really see projectors I would have to pay a percentage on restocking fee on a $6k unit if I don't like it. As there been any improvement with the black levels since the "The Hook Up" review? Is it possible to lower the laser power level for dark room viewing, which I think might help with the black levels? I use Calman Studio + C6 HD5000 + G1 for calibrating all my devices so at least in SDR content I can calibrate it to a 80nts (if there is way to turn down the laser) I am not sure if the L9Q has ability to lower power level in HDR/DV

r/projectors · Help choosing a $5,000 projector So actually I was thinking about UST, the benefit of the projector being up front next to the screen is nice for cable management. I don’t have a UST screen though so I’d have to factor that in as well, and I’m not sure if UST have as good black levels as long throw projectors? Do the ones you recommended have good contrast? I think the Hisense L9Q got super good reviews in a recent UST showdown beating the PX3 a bit?

r/projectors · Hisense L9Q Delivered! That's awesome. Valerion Vision Master Max has a black level feature on their long throw but I was hoping HiSense would come up with something for the L9Q. More and more this is looking like my next projector. I have to do the whole long throw to Ultra Short Throw change to my living room though. Remove the ceiling mount, Run HDMI to the front of the living room instead of the ceiling, etc, etc, etc. It's gonna be quite involved. lol

r/projectors · Hisense L9Q Delivered! Pondering this projector myself, a few questions if you don't mind: 1. What is the size and gain of the "old screen" in the images that you are replacing? 2. What picture mode are you using in the pictures for the L9Q? Is the brightness enhancer on? Asking this since several reviews have mentioned the green cast this mode gives the image, but is necessary to get the highest brightness levels. Are you willing to share some more images of the L9Q post updates in ambient light? Thanks in advance for any/all of your responses!

r/projectors · New 150" Wall - Projector recommendations ? Yeah the throw distance is my bugger, but I think I am closing in on the direction i need to go. The UST I can leave out, as described yesterday I found out that the UST needs quite some inches from the projector and up along the wall it projects onto, meaning the bottom line of the projected screen (thats with a 150") eg. with a Hisense L9Q its 19.45 inches and Epson LS800 is 16.1 inches - So with my wall being 92.2 Inches total in height, its not even possibe to procect a 150" screens size, even with the UST proectors standing on the floor! :) So I have left the UST projectors and currently looking and reading up on different models of ST/short throw projectors. Thats a great link you share there, and great work youve done! Will defintely have a deeper look into that also, thanks a lot!
r/projectors · New 150" Wall - Projector recommendations ? Thanks alot Brian! Although when I look at the 'placement guides', I learn that Hisense LQ9 + a 150" Screen, would need a total wall height of 236.2 cm/92.99 inches - and my wall is 234 cm/92.2 inches. Taking a look on the Epson LS800 (thanks to you guides at projectorscreen.com), the total height of wall needed is 227,69 cm/89.64 inches (leaving a gap of only 6,31 cm/ 2.48 inches) https://preview.redd.it/qtelspiqjisf1.jpeg?width=3195&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8e536572793c5b2ad4f0cff09b6139e285cbf7e1 And this is then with the both projector mentioned above, standing right on the floors - and not even on a cabinet :) This is good, for the sake of me learning that a UST probably will not be able to do the job projecting a 150" screen size under my circumstances, due to the total height needs of the wall projected onto. (alternative option is to reduce screen size to 140" if it to be a UST projector) As I still would like to aim for the 150" screen posibility, the big question is then if there is a standard ST projector that can throw a 150" from a distance of app. 340 cm/133.5 inches ?

r/projectors · When can we expect Hisense L9Q reviews to come out? From what I've gathered, it's going to use the 0.47 DMD chip not the larger 0.65. The 0.47 chip is compatible with 3D. The 0.65 is not. So I'm hoping Hisense adds the 3D support behind it. Just because the chip is compatible, doesn't mean the projector will be 3D
