It seems the 3D frame package image shown as Over-Under 3D image will put into a Side-by-Side output as frame packed video. BluRay 3D Option is not available via HDMI (greyed out).

r/projectors · My review of the Dangbei DBOX02 (formerly Mars Pro 2) is up! I tested LG 3D Blu-Ray Player as well as Sony 3D Blu-Ray Player. I tested both devices on HDMI 1 and HDMI 2 port. Same result: It is not working but only it shows an Over-and-Under picture of the 3D movie. When I select Over-and-Under 3D option in the 3D menu of the projector, after some seconds the picture looks like a frame packed video as Over-Under format in a Side-by-Side container. Unwatchable.

Das 3D Video der 3D BluRay wird zwar im Over/Under Format dargestellt, aber sobald man "Oben-und-Unten" als 3D Option auswählt, wird es im Side-by-Side Container als Frame-Packing Format ausgegeben und ist somit nicht zum angucken geeignet - Die Option "BluRay 3D" im 3D-Mode Menu ist beim HDMI-Eingang ausgegraut und nicht wählbar - Im Dateiexplorer (z. B. über CX File Explorer und auch direkt im VLC Player) lassen sich 3D-Videodateien öffnen und abspielen, aber sobald 3D aktiviert wird, unterbricht das Abspielen des 3D Videos und man befindet sich wieder im Verzeichnes vom Dateiexplorer bzw. VLC Player, aber 3D ist dadurch sofort deaktiviert. Dadurch kann man ein 3D Video nicht im 3D Modus anschauen. - Der Beamer wird mit der Zeit sehr warm. - Der Lüfter ist zwar bei mittlerer Stufe leise, aber ein anderes Geräusch von einem Bauteil scheint permanent langsam zu brummen.

r/budgetprojectors · Looking for advices - newly informed I ended up with a Dangbei Mars Pro 2 (which is the same model as the DBX02). Someone on eBay was selling open boxes for around $400 USD, otherwise that projector would have been out of my budget. Hubby's going to be working with a friend of his to get it properly installed. That's why I mentioned the videos and eBay because that scenario happens more often than you think. The Dangbei I picked up is overkill for our purposes but I could not pass it up at that price. Plus it means that we shouldn't need another projector for quite some time.

r/projectors · What do you think of the Dangbei Mars Pro? I’d actually recommend you going for the Dangbei Mars Pro 2 instead of the first generation Mars Pro. I’ve had the chance to try both and the Mars Pro 2 is a good upgrade and brighter, amazing interface if you use it with Google TV, and the quality image is impressive for its price. it is also a good option if you're mainly looking for good picture quality and plan to use it in a dark room. Just make sure you place it properly since there is no opticl zoom or lens shift. But once it’s set up, it is a good option for movie nights plus it is worth the price sice it is at around $1.3k.

They added the holes and capability needed to ceiling mount so people would still buy it but what people should strive to do is first admit you dont live at a movie theater and second use it how it was designed to be used for an optimal image. As centered as possible on the image and at eye level. Thats why it looks so sleek and elegant. If you have children they make a device that surrounds the PJ with an electromagnetic field that will deliver a mild corrective charge to any organic matter that breaks the continuity stream of the field.

They also emailed me askimg for my SN bc they are rolling back out the update next week and the weeks following!! "Thank you for your wonderful feedback! We're delighted to hear that you are enjoying your projector and that it has exceeded your expectations. Our support team was on Mid-Autumn Festival break from 15th to 17th September. We appreciate your patience during this time. We are actively working on the new firmware update that will address the 3D issues, and we're pleased that you plan to purchase additional 3D glasses next month! If you have any further questions or need assistance, please don't hesitate to contact us."

I also emailed them, and thankfully they responded to me. They told me that they did release a new update V11.1.0.83 in late June-August, and while it solved the 3D blu ray issue, it caused other issues with the auto focus/keystone. They decided to discontinue the new software update until they can correct the other issues that presented itself from the update. They told me that they plan on re releasing the update in October when the issues have been resolved. I have been able to watch 3D videos on YouTube and it has been an amazing experience so I'm confident that it will work great once we can update! I'm wondering if they haven't responded yet to you bc of business hours/weekend

My main problem is the impossibility of doing the trapezoidal correction in ceiling mode. It's very annoying. I have until October 14 to return it to Amazon. I hope they release the update before.

That is the only mode for BR3D, you may not be using the correct HDMI port if it's greyed out or your player isn't playing in BR3D mode or something else. I used a Sony player to test with and it worked no problems. The option is ungreyed once the movie starts playing in 3D on the BR player.

r/projectors · My review of the Dangbei DBOX02 (formerly Mars Pro 2) is up! The contrast ratio and picture quality between dbox02 and Atom are very similar really. The 02 is a bit brighter so HDR intensity is a bit more impressive, but the Atom still uses the same laser tech and you'd likely not notice the difference anyway until you brought your face to the projection screen to interrogate at a pixel level. Sadly at the time I had both projectors in different locations so could not place them side by side. There is a new N2 model by the way and I should be getting that in soon to check out. It's more compact than the Atom with similar specs, also 1080p.

Personally own the DBOX02 and have been pleasantly surprised by it - the lack of optical zoom is a bit annoying but just that, a bit. The picture quality is great, the Google tv is a plus, and generally the software has been pretty reliable. If you can pick it up at the 1,300 mark, I think it could be a good buy!
