r/projectors · Hisense L9Q Triple Laser Ultra Short Throw UST Projector Review @ ProjectorScreen.com →2025-09-27

While i get that it's supposed to be a brightness oriented UST, still for such a price it could of had at least a basic static iris to greatly boost the contrast. Hopefully the P3-pro successor will have a new iris and laser dimming because right now Valerion and Nexigo are totally crushing Hisense at those things.

r/projectors · Best projector for watching sports in a bright room? →2026-06-08

if you have the higher end budget available currently the best bright room UST is the Hisense L9Q. There motion handling is currently the best. You can go all the way up to 200" with this projector so you have a lot of performance room. If you want to save some money the Hisense PX3 Pro is also a great option. Does this budget also include a screen? If you match these projectors with a nice Fresnel UST screen you will have a very watchable image.

I like to confirm that the firmware fix works. Did mine today and I'm back to feeling very happy with my purchase. I was told the clicking sound issue only happened on the first batch of L9Qs that left the factory.

Exactly.  I have ls800.   Definitely does not look like that.  lol This looks like my portable projector with 500lumens.   lol. (BenQ)

Ls800. Pic quality is 4k.  It’s great. That’s my opinion.   And dug in and researched for a few weeks prior to purchasing.

My L9Q was delivered yesterday, and unfortunately it shows the same problem. After about ten minutes, during the playback of HDR content, the unit starts to produce a distinct rattling noise – it sounds similar to the read head of an old hard drive. This noise definitely does not come from the fan; it seems to originate from the laser section. I will therefore request a replacement unit. If the replacement shows the same issue, I will withdraw from the purchase and request a refund. The noise is simply too distracting to use the device properly. Are there any other units affected by this problem?

I need L9Q owners to chime in! I bought the Nexigo Aurora Pro MK2 based on "The Hook Up" YouTube channel. The black level is really good, but I not happy with the daylight performance, as well as the yellow tint in 3D mode. The unit is in the living room, even with blinds. I am using a Vividstorm 120" S Pro ALR screen. I am now on the fence on the L9Q. Since I don't have any local places to really see projectors I would have to pay a percentage on restocking fee on a $6k unit if I don't like it. Has there been any improvement with the black levels since the "The Hook Up" review? Is it possible to lower the laser power level for dark room viewing, which I think might help with the black levels? I use Calman Studio + C6 HD5000 + G1 for calibrating all my devices so at least in SDR content I can calibrate it to a 80nts (if there is way to turn down the laser) I am not sure if the L9Q has ability to lower power level in HDR/DV

I noticed with my ForMovie S5 that if I used a cloth screen the image looked fuzzy/soft, but if I projected directly on my friends PVC fence it was AMAZINGLY CRISP/SHARP with damn good colors so I kinda agree with your statement. Granted, the PVC fence was white, but the screen seemed to remove the sharpness of the image.

    r/hometheater · Help a Noob Choose 120" UST + Screen ($5k Budget) - LS800 vs. Aurora Pro vs. Others? →2025-11-11

Look at the Hisense L9Q-you’d have to stretch your budget but for UST projectors it’s a very good one. I think going projector is worth it when you get 120” over 98”. I also agree of course that a lcd tv looks better/brighter and is way better for daytime viewing-but assuming you’re aware of these pretty obvious differences I think the 49% larger area is a totally worthy trade-off. Review: https://www.projectorscreen.com/blogs/news/hisense-l9q-triple-laser-ultra-short-throw-ust-projector-review?srsltid=AfmBOoouXb-kRn3bqScXoem8cc4D812cVuZ9ZmXEXXkuph9I-QNhiPkT there is a throw distance chart on the review and it looks like the L9Q doesn’t need to be nearly as far from the wall for 120”-looks like about 16.5”.

Yes, but it's only really annoying in red or orange areas. So, if the red and orange areas now have as little speckle as the green, blue or white areas on the LG HU915QE, I'd be happy👍Because then it wouldn't be annoying over the seating distance. What du you think, has there been an improvement here?
