r/projectors · Does every Hisense C2 Ultra have this much light spill outside the corrected image? Is this normal? Derriere toi.

r/projectors · Does every Hisense C2 Ultra have this much light spill outside the corrected image? Is this normal? That’s what happens when you use keystone correction. The actual projected light doesn’t change, it just digitally adjusts the image within that frame.

r/projectors · Valerion - Quality problems Kudos to Brian, who's been heavily criticized for telling people to stick to the C2 Ultra.
r/projectors · Hisense C2 Ultra - Is It Worth It? C2 and are Valerion are 2 amazing projectors. Valerion is new but sister company of AWOL which is not new. You’d be happy with both but I think the Valerion is slightly better and it may become even better through software updates while the C2 may or may not get one. Either way you’ll have fun.

r/hometheater · Best Home Projector for a New Home theater in 2026 The new triple laser projectors (Valerion Pro2, Hisense C2 Ultra, JMGO N3) have gotten really close to the Epson and JVC level. The gap isn't huge anymore. **Valerion Pro2** – best value. \~$2,700, RTINGS #1, amazing contrast for dark rooms. **Epson LS12000** – $4,500+, 3LCD (no rainbow), motorized lens. Reliable but not better contrast than the Valerion. **JVC NZ500** – $6k+, best blacks, but you're paying a lot for that last bit of performance. **JMGO N3** – wait for real reviews before buying. For 10-12ft seating and 120-150 inches, most long-throws work fine. The zoom range is nice but not essential. If you want best value, Valerion. If you want no rainbow effect ever – Epson. If money doesn't matter – JVC. [I have the top projector options here](https://medium.com/@dejan-k/projector-vs-100-inch-tv-2026-d0b6e18c3c14) – might help narrow it down.

r/projectors · Valerion - Quality problems Yeah the trolls on avsforum went rabid on u/ProjectionHead for saying that kickstarters are risky and the c2 ultra was a safer bet. I wonder how many of them are disappointed with their non-risky crowdfunded projector that has so many problems and people complaining.

r/projectors · Help Choosing a Portable Laser Projector: Nebula Cosmos 4K SE vs JMGO N1S Ultra vs Hisense C2 Ultra C2 ultra would be my recommended. It’s the best real (not kickstarter or super engineered samples for review) lifestyle out there. They also made this overhyped Kickstarter people keep talking about and will updating the c2 ultra via firmware to have the same dynamic black levels. So you pay retail price now for a real projector from a brand that doesn’t need to create a “sister brand” to distance themselves from whatever they won’t use the same name for, don’t have to wait and have no risk. Just my two cents
r/projectors · Next Chapter Review: Valerion VisionMaster Max – Specs vs Reality I got harassed on AVSF for days for saying that it’s “risky” to back the kickstarter and that the c2 ultra was a safe bet here on reddit. It’s not normal that reddit is the less toxic environment but it certainly is the case when it comes to certain brand discussions.
r/projectors · JMGO N1 Ultra ($1500) vs. Hisense C2 Ultra ($2500) The c2 ultra is the best “lifestyle” projector that I’ve seen to date. That being said, $1,000 isn’t anything to sneeze at. There will be a less expensive c2 pro coming later this year that may be worth waiting for as well, but it will still be above $1,500.
r/projectors · Hisense C1 vs Hisense C2 vs Epson 5050UB The 5050ub is as rock solid as a bulb based projector as you can get. It will have higher native contrast and positioning flexibility than either of those c2s. The c2 however is triple laser and will have a much wider color gamut and the new c2 ultra hitting the shelves later this year will have dynamic contrast over 2600:1. All 3 are solid options depending on installation needs, your thoughts on bulb vs laser and price points.
r/projectors · Hisense C2 Ultra vs Xgimi HORIZON 20 Max The c2 is more portable, the 20 max is bigger and brighter. I have them both in our showroom and use the c2 ultra at home as my portable projector. I’d be happy to get into detail with you between them and offer a special Reddit discount on either one; DM me if interested.
r/projectors · My Hisense C2 Ultra is really annoying You may have a defective unit; if you got it from us at ProjectorScreen.com, send me a DM and we’ll have one of our tech agents hit you up to troubleshoot and handle a replacement if needed.
r/projectors · JMGO N1S Ultimate - Good, But Not $2200 Impressive! Looking for Recommendations If high contrast is what you want, the 5050ub does beat out all of the lifestyle projectors. If you want the smaller form factor, the hisense c2 ultra will be similar to the JMGO with a better image.
r/projectors · 2 Weeks with the Hisense C1 This review? https://www.mondoprojos.fr/2024/09/11/test-hisense-c2-ultra-le-projecteur-trichroma-4k-avec-design-lifestyle/ The ultra has dynamic contrast which is almost 3x that of the c1 and the brightness helps in a well lit room on screen of any size. MondoProjos’s have this a double gold, that is a tremendous rating.
r/projectors · 2 Weeks with the Hisense C1 No, the ultra is more expensive, launching at $2,499
r/projectors · Hisense C2 Ultra or Xgimi Horizon 20 Pro 👆what he said. u/BSO_BRO - I’ve got both units in my showroom and have put them side by side (with u/ThreeChipTK); feel free to DM me if you want to get into greater detail and get a special Reddit deal.

r/projectors · Why do most reviewers prefer xgimi over Hisense? It's not, don't buy older projector model the likes of c2 is ancient already. 20 pro is a lot brighter than c2 (iirc 50%), has vrr and vertical / horizontal shift. All OP issues can be resolved by using external box player and home speakers, they're not projector issue.
r/projectors · Best $2k-$3k lifestyle projector late 2025 It's not just the windows but you need to treat the surrounding walls, floor and ceiling around your screen as it will reflect light and will affect contrast. If you don't want a cave, then ust + alr will be the better route. Both of your choices are tri lasers so you better check your sensitivity to rbe and speckle. Also, imo both are "old" model and it would be better for you to get newer one with iris, free native contrast booster. If you are sensitive to rbe, you can consider nexigo trivision ultra (mk2 coming soon) and aurora pro mk2. If you're ok with rbe, can consider dangbei ultra s7 max, it's like ~38% brighter than pro2 and has better native contrast.
r/projectors · Why do most reviewers prefer xgimi over Hisense? Cause you said there's no brightness difference as it's not true, only likely scenario is that it's not calibrated. Yeah lens shift disable features but it's either that or digital keystone. What feature does it disable that is significant ?
r/projectors · Hisense C2 4K Ultra 65" with bright ambient light, just get a tv
r/projectors · Purchase Decision: Valerion VisionMaster Pro 2 vs. Hisense C2 Ultra Why not the new xgimi 20 series, brighter than both of the hisense and valerion.
r/projectors · Hisense C2 Ultra - light showing on either side of my screen Is it the border, like this? Then it's dlp pond of mirrors https://www.reddit.com/r/projectors/comments/1nvq0dr/projector_issues/
r/projectors · Hisense C2 Ultra - light showing on either side of my screen Wdym line of dim light? Do you mean like this - https://youtu.be/F6mFV7XQC3o?t=22m8s If so, then it's normal. Or maybe it's dlp pond of mirrors.
r/projectors · Hisense C2 Ultra/Vidda C3 ultra/XGIMI Horizon 20 Pro You want to use with ambient light and in non cave room. Non of your option works, best is to get ust + alr screen. Also, for tri lasers you should test your sensitivity to rbe. If you're then just get epson lcd ones.
r/projectors · Hisense C2 4K Ultra It can work but the quality won't be great. What you can see now in your room is the lowest black you can get, with ambient light the picture will just look washed up even with a bright projector as the black will look like nothing. Bright content will work like cartoon / animations etc but any black / dark in real life content will look washed up.
r/projectors · Hisense PX3-Pro vs C2 Ultra in suboptimal conditions (initially) Prefer ust but imo either one is fine, you can use a sheetrock panel if need be but you should be more concerned with the long term part as ust and long throw alr is very different.
r/projectors · Hisense PX3-Pro vs C2 Ultra in suboptimal conditions (initially) The alr screen for ust and long throw is a different commitment. Also, both are tri laser so you should check your sensitivity to rainbow effect. Imo you should go with alpd ust with alr screen. If you can't get a screen can try using a sheetrock. Or get a ust projector with correct feature like jmgo o2s ultra
r/projectors · 2 Weeks with the Hisense C1 Does it though? Saw a french review that say c2 is only brighter for bigger screen and that the contrast and pq on smaller screen has no significant difference.
r/projectors · Valerion Visionmaster Pro 1 or Hisense C2 Ultra For some people they can be too sensitive that even reduction feature won't help. Best to use other solution like 3lcd and alpd. I say the other is due to if rbe is not an issue, i prefer c2 ultra due to the speakers. I use subtitles so not a fan of dynamic contrast hence Valerion advantage is a wash for me.
r/projectors · Valerion Visionmaster Pro 1 or Hisense C2 Ultra For 1st projector, you should worry about your sensitivity to rainbow effect as both are tri lasers. Contrast is also dependent on your room. Imo between the 2, get hisense c2 ultra at least it has better speakers.
r/projectors · Hisense C2 Ultra vs Valerion Pro 2 Questions Imo neither, should get something with iris as it's a free 2x contrast booster. Consider the likes of nebula x1, dangbei s7 max etc. Also, ebl in Valerion doesn't work with subtitles or non dim scenes. So if you don't have a cave and don't watch foreign contents or non dark movies then it doesn't really matter imo.

r/projectors · Hisense C2 Ultra vs Valerion Pro 2 Questions I have owned both projectors, in my experience the eye detection does not work that well. I've at times stared into the laser by accident while walking in front of the screen. The best bet would be to go with a short throw. If you insist on getting one of these, I'd go with the visionmaster 2 pro, it's got a better OS, much snappier and better picture quality. The rumored update for C2 ultra has not arrived, as far as I can tell the C 3 ultra is about the same as C 2 Ultra.
r/projectors · Hisense C2 Ultra vs Valerion Pro 2 Questions Of these two I'd go with valerion. But if you value customer service it's not a good pick. Maybe try xgimi's new offering. All of these will be bright enough for your use case.
r/projectors · Help Choosing a Portable Laser Projector: Nebula Cosmos 4K SE vs JMGO N1S Ultra vs Hisense C2 Ultra Do we have definitive words from Hisense that this is in the works? I already bought a c2 ultra but I'm also thinking about getting a valerion VM max for the vertical shift lens and better contrast.
r/projectors · Valerion Visionmaster Pro 1 or Hisense C2 Ultra The rainbow effect on the pro 1 was significantly more noticable than the pro 2, and it's worse than the c2 ultra. Just wanted to point out the main gripe in terms of picture quality. I have used all three and prefer visionmaster pro 2. Of these two I would go for c2 ultra and get a shield pro or fire stick.

r/projectors · Does every Hisense C2 Ultra have this much light spill outside the corrected image? Is this normal? Yes, I learned after experiencing it. So what you need to do you keep your projector parallel to the wall you’re projecting and at the dead center then you can enjoy moving without having light spill. All to do with DLP system.

r/projectors · Choosing a video projector for a semi-lit room You have to be realistic, that never in your life have you gone to a semi-lit movie theater. That doesn't mean you can't project, but there is a reason theaters are dark, and your image will take a significant hit when you add ambient light. It won't make the projector unusable, but it will definitely remove that cinematic feel. As well, about half of the theater impact is the sound treated room that is painted completely dark. It's a quiet space with excellent audio. Something many people don't want to address with anything more than a speakerbar these days. The models you listed are all solid choices. BenQ thrown in is a good choice as well. At the end of the day, these models are all DLP projectors using the same DLP chip inside of them. They are more similar than different. The worst one would be considered very bright and high resolution from what we had 15 years ago. I personally think that models with optical zoom and a good amount of lens shift are the best purchase as they make setup far easier. So, I lean heavily into the Horizon 20 being a solid choice. If you need more brightness, and can afford it, get the better models. You have to understand throw distance, and learn to use this tool... [https://www.projectorcentral.com/xgimi-horizon\_20-projection-calculator-pro.htm](https://www.projectorcentral.com/xgimi-horizon_20-projection-calculator-pro.htm) You should also spend some time watching videos from a proper review YouTube channel. I like this as one of the best because of the real world comparisons of models put head to head at various price points... [https://www.youtube.com/thehookup](https://www.youtube.com/thehookup) You aren't going to struggle at your price point to find a solid projector that looks good. You will still only get part of the theatrical experience if you don't have great audio. You will probably be shocked at how good the image actually is after dark.
r/projectors · Hisense C2 Pro for €1400? I wish I could put out every projector in the world and test them all, but the reality is that I haven't seen everything. I know that Hisense leans towards quality products and the C1 through the C3 are all outstanding. The contrast wouldn't be as strong as what you get from JVC, but it is a very usable lifestyle projector that will look really good in almost any low light environment. I don't think any of the C2 series was bad, and reviews on the Ultra were really strong. I think the C2 Pro is just a step down on brightness, and has downgraded internal audio. This makes the Pro lighter, and easier to move around. If you don't need the added brightness of the Ultra, then then Pro would be a solid choice. What is crazy though is how much other brands are doing right now. The Horizon 20 is better all around than the C2 projectors (except zoom), and at a very affordable price point.
r/projectors · Need help with Hisense C2 Ultra 3D issues Sounds like you do need to get the projector setup properly. This video may help you with what you need to do... [https://youtu.be/XOGpyUsbx2Q?si=Jwgp5i\_qp\_64F0E-](https://youtu.be/XOGpyUsbx2Q?si=Jwgp5i_qp_64F0E-) Make sure automatic keystone is turned off. Do not use any digital correction features. That said, I have no idea why 3D from a Blu-ray Disc player would not work on this projector automatically as it does on 3D capable projectors. SBS/OU 3D does typically have to be manually turned on, and this thread discusses how to do it... [https://www.reddit.com/r/projectors/comments/1li1dg6/does\_the\_hisense\_c2\_ultra\_play\_3d\_video/](https://www.reddit.com/r/projectors/comments/1li1dg6/does_the_hisense_c2_ultra_play_3d_video/) I am assuming you are using a Blu-ray Disc player and a actual 3D Blu-ray Disc for your BD content you are feeding it. Correct?
r/projectors · My Hisense C2 Ultra is really annoying I'd reach out and complain then. This is not normal behavior. I've never had such an issue with any projector I've owned. Including the $60 cheap one.
r/projectors · My Hisense C2 Ultra is really annoying The projector may use infrared to power it on rather than Bluetooth or something else. If that's the case, it would require you to point the remote directly at the projector to power it on. Once it is on, it may power up the Bluetooth internally, which would make the rest of the remote commands work properly. Obviously, this is a headache if you actually use the projector remote for everything. There may be power settings in it that keep Bluetooth enabled when the projector is powered off. I've seen similar functionality on televisions when I've done IP or RS232 control. You have to kick them out of their Energy Star compliance settings to draw a bit more power, but it helps ensure reliability and proper operation. Not sure about the gaming, but most projectors with their fastest response times must have NO keystone correction on, and no digital zoom. It requires a properly placed projector in the room. Then it may also need a specific 'gaming' mode to get the lowest input lag. I haven't played a ton with this, just a lot of reading. It's just something to keep in mind. Yeah, not ideal if you have a specific mode you've enjoyed for other video viewing.
r/projectors · Projection with a Sideways Angle on Hisense C2 Ultra It may work, but it will lose a fair bit of resolution as well as brightness to the use of so much digital correction. As is said in MANY other threads about keystone correction. The more you use it, the more you lose. The less you use it, the less you lose. A small bit of correction can be visually non-visible to many people. It does increase input lag on almost all projectors if gaming is important, keep that in mind.
r/projectors · Suggestions on first projector? I'd struggle not to get the Valerion Pro 2 or Hisense C2 Ultra over the LS11000. Both are nice models, but the Epson simply isn't priced where it should be IMO, and the LS12000 is where people should be spending their money if they are chasing best image quality. I'd definitely stick with a 120" diagonal or you might as well get a 100" TV instead. (yeah yeah, OLED already) You will want a tab-tensioned motorized screen to go with this if you aren't using a fixed frame screen for best results.
r/projectors · Recommendations please. Keep in mind 1440p is a common monitor resolution, but no projector is 1440p on the consumer market. They are 4K through pixel shifting (or JVC/Sony native) of 1080p panels. So, your best results generally will come from a 1080p input. Especially at 120hz or 240hz. Those will give you the lowest lag times in the world and DLP is absolute king when it comes to this. 1440p may give you slightly better resolution, but will not give you faster pixel response time, which has been proven to be the king of importance when it comes to competitive gaming. This is also, generally, why 1440p is not lag tested on most projectors and why most projectors don't support that resolution. There are definitely some projectors advertised for gaming use which absolutely support an input resolution of 1440p, but then it must be scaled to 4K/60 or dropped down to 1080p/120hz. This is an added scaling step which may add some lag to the overall performance. This is all just stuff to be aware of. The X3100i is a beast as is the Valerion Pro 2. The C2 Ultra is also a beast in this class. I think when you are talking fastest response time, the X3100i is the best in class with 4.2ms advertised, and 5ms confirmed at 1080p/240 input. That's about as fast as DLP allows for at this point. It is up to you to do the chasing on 1440p as a resolution. You won't get those response times from LCD, for darn sure. Simple as that. LCoS (JVC/Sony) can often fall somewhere between, but can come close to DLP speed. Lots more $$$ for LCoS. Good questions really, and this is going to be a personal question at the end of the day. Especially with regards to how much RBE impacts and bothers you. It varies from projector to projector, so do keep that in mind.

r/projectors · Hisense C2 Ultra vs Valerion Pro 2 Questions C2 ultra does the same thing as always for eye protection; it just cuts off the image for a bit. It does detect movement pretty well. If kids walking in front is a concern, have you considered an ultra short throw? Hisense released an update for the C2 ultra months ago but I still haven't gotten it (in Canada for reference). It does not come anywhere close to the EBL of Valerian.
r/projectors · Upgrade Viewsonic LS700 HD to Hisense C2 Ultra really worth it ? I upgraded from an Epson an Epson EF12 to the Hisense C2 Ultra and the difference was astounding. You will absolutely notice the difference in 1080p vs 4k.
r/projectors · Hisense C2 4K Ultra I used this as a TV replacement for roughly half a year. A big factor for suitability is how big you want the image to be. For example in th evening in the winter I would keep the image as big as possibly (around 135"). In the summer with full sunlight I would draw the sun shade (not blackout) and zoom the image in as much as possible with optical zoom and I thought it was fine for watching. Before purchasing I would check the price of the Xgimi horizon 20 series since that is newer and should be a bit brighter.

r/projectors · Hisense C2 Ultra or Xgimi Horizon 20 Pro If you are not focused on gaming. The XGIMI is awesome and top of the line for a lifestyle but there are some bugs and there will be more software updates. The C2 Ultra has been out for awhile and is a lot more stable. It can be had for a solid price compared to what it was when it was first released.
r/projectors · Epson EH-TW9400 or Hisense C2 Ultra I would definitely recommend the Hisense C2 Ultra. It has been out for a year and some change and the software is very stable, great for gaming, great for streaming and better resolution. Both these units are native 1080p. The Epson pixel shifts 2 times to achieve 4K where the Hisense does it 4 times. I would take into account if you suffer from RBE or notice laser speckle. That would be the main decision factor for me. Feel free to DM to continue!
r/projectors · Hisense C2 Ultra or Xgimi Horizon 20 Pro The XGIMI is great for gaming but that’s really where the plus is. The C2 is way more stable and solid for gaming (not as good as the XGIMI) but the XGIMI currently has some bugs.
r/projectors · Epson 5050ub vs Hisense C2 Pro It really depends if you suffer from Rainbow Effect and or notice Laser Speckle. With Epson you get a native HD projector that pixel shifts 2-ways to achieve "4KE" (Epson marketing term". With Hisense and most other 4K DLP projectors you get a native HD projector that pixel shifts 4-ways to achieve a 4K image. So it is a higher perceived resolution. If you don't care about Laser Speckle or Rainbow Effect (not everyone sees it. and some people who do see it are able to ignore it. Some people who see it cant unsee it and hate it) then I would recommend the Hisense C2 Ultra any day of the week. If those things I mentioned above do bother you, then I would say stick with Epson. But if you have some wiggle room with your budget. I really like the new Epson LS9000. Feel free to DM for more info and I can see what special Reddit pricing we can do!

r/projectors · Hisense C2 Pro 4K Portable Laser Mini Projector Bundle with 120" Portable Indoor/ Outdoor Projector Screen I got the C2 Ultra for $1950. To be honest, I think the only difference is the brightness, and I have to turn the brightness down from 10 to 5 most of the time because it’s too bright in my setting. I had to tinker with the settings to get it right, but I really like it and recommend it.

r/projectors · Hisense C2 Ultra or Xgimi Horizon 20 Pro I have both currently. Keeping the c2 ultra since it is just smoother overall. No need for external speakers or a firestick due to software bugs. Spec-wise they feel similar to me. VIDAA OS is snappier. One major difference is the throw distance for the Hisense can be much closer to the wall.
r/projectors · Why do most reviewers prefer xgimi over Hisense? I paid $2000 for the c2 ultra and $1800 for the horizon 20 pro.
r/projectors · Why do most reviewers prefer xgimi over Hisense? Even though the c3 is around the corner, the Hisense c2 ultra is neck and neck with the horizon 20 pro with similar specs. The horizon 20 pro is maybe a touch brighter but not significantly. The chip in the Hisense is a gen older but I wouldn’t translate that to outdated. Hisense feels more like an Apple product where everything just works.
r/projectors · Why do most reviewers prefer xgimi over Hisense? The lens shift is cool, but it shuts off features, so I didn’t use it. I didn’t find the horizon 20 pro much brighter than the c2 ultra in practice. I don’t understand why reviewers don’t use these features. They are lifestyle projectors with the intent you use all the onboard stuff.

r/projectors · Help Choosing a Portable Laser Projector: Nebula Cosmos 4K SE vs JMGO N1S Ultra vs Hisense C2 Ultra It’s a screen innovations screen. I replaced an older Epson 1080p projector. The difference between the C2 and the old projector is night and day. I cannot speak for newer 1080p projectors. The screen and Epson projector were in our house when we moved in. I recently purchased the C2 Ultra because I wanted to be able to use it with all the lights in my theater area on. I use it for watching sports, playing video games, and watching movies (including 3D Blu-ray) It’s fantastic for my setup.
r/projectors · Hisense C2 Ultra Review (Slightly above novice review) The Hisense C2 Ultra uses DLP-Link glasses and does not support full SBS or full-packed 3D formats. That would be used with passive polarized glasses. It uses 3D ToF or Time of Flight to create depth as accurately as possible. The sensors are calibrated to show distance on the screen. You have to have active shutter 3D glasses to view 3D content.
r/projectors · Hisense C2 Ultra Review (Slightly above novice review) You do not need a special screen—just the active 3D glasses.
r/projectors · Hisense C2 Ultra Review (Slightly above novice review) I can answer that question. The 3D is fantastic. I have a 1080p Samsung 3D DVD player. It could be even better if you have a 4 K 3D DVD player. I had a difficult time finding 3D glasses for myself, so here is the link to what I purchased, and I can attest to them working very well: [https://www.amazon.com/ELEPHAS-Rechargeable-Projectors-ViewSonic-Panasonic/dp/B01JG2ZSS6/ref=sr\_1\_4?crid=X6NOL873HO47&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.1kaXiRoa9B-8gtlYEJc\_NtcVcGF6\_SIoxy5yKD4Xm-libf\_flcHa4MQUjJ3EeEqG5ySf0MwHMIVJoQD5Vl5VK9sLeu-cmt8ccz1IOET1NwhLd0uVvq\_Vzk3Yy3jFJpRewFBJLpkzw5KEKfWIwGndUPzLXshjOOqoUD5WYQcDxJm\_y3SFdIktTDu2UaW7l53IHg\_qHh-h2xs4aiew5b9RmyHGiuF1QlPgUoh2otvqZCE.q5JEkOs9Kx2KZI\_vs7dXWFQP9LxRCorrQy4Y4b61z5Y&dib\_tag=se&keywords=active%2B3d%2Bglasses&qid=1742927896&sprefix=active%2B3d%2Caps%2C128&sr=8-4&th=1](https://www.amazon.com/ELEPHAS-Rechargeable-Projectors-ViewSonic-Panasonic/dp/B01JG2ZSS6/ref=sr_1_4?crid=X6NOL873HO47&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.1kaXiRoa9B-8gtlYEJc_NtcVcGF6_SIoxy5yKD4Xm-libf_flcHa4MQUjJ3EeEqG5ySf0MwHMIVJoQD5Vl5VK9sLeu-cmt8ccz1IOET1NwhLd0uVvq_Vzk3Yy3jFJpRewFBJLpkzw5KEKfWIwGndUPzLXshjOOqoUD5WYQcDxJm_y3SFdIktTDu2UaW7l53IHg_qHh-h2xs4aiew5b9RmyHGiuF1QlPgUoh2otvqZCE.q5JEkOs9Kx2KZI_vs7dXWFQP9LxRCorrQy4Y4b61z5Y&dib_tag=se&keywords=active%2B3d%2Bglasses&qid=1742927896&sprefix=active%2B3d%2Caps%2C128&sr=8-4&th=1)

r/projectors · Hisense C2 Ultra Review All the major streaming apps are built in. For everything else, I use a 4K Chromecast and stream from my phone. I also have a laptop connected to my receiver.
r/projectors · Hisense C2 Ultra Review You can use one HDMI cable from a receiver with ARC/eARC and plug everything else into the receiver. I did have difficulty with the dvd player recognizing the 3D capabilities of the projector so I eventually plug that in directly as well. Yes, I use the apps and they work great!
r/projectors · Hisense C2 Ultra Review Mine is 14 feet, or about 4.26 meters from the screen. At that distance it will fill the wall with the screen but automatically adjusts to the screen with no noticeable loss in sharpness or clarity. It is just a few inches outside the range for the optical zoom at this distance and screen size but I am perfectly happy with it. The picture quality is fantastic.
r/projectors · Hisense C2 Ultra Review I think the 3d is fantastic. It is active 3d so you would need active 3d dlp link glasses. I also use a 3d blu ray player.
r/projectors · Hisense C2 Ultra Review It really comes down to your personal preference. What I see in the reviews and tests of the projectors is individuals using gauges and sensors to gather data where the differences are indiscernible to the naked eye. I use my projector for games, movies, and even watching tv and sporting events. I think the picture quality is better than any television I own. If the fact that the projector utilizes technology to perfectly fit the screen from different distances then maybe you shouldn’t buy it. I cannot see any loss in performance from the amount of digital keystone and zoom it uses to fit my screen. It really just depends on the end user deciding what they want in their individual scenario.
r/projectors · Hisense C2 Ultra Review I have not seen any issues with it. It's been up since November.
r/projectors · Hisense C2 Ultra Review I'm unsure about variable refresh rate, and I believe you get 2K at 120hz.
r/projectors · Hisense C2 Ultra Review The frame rate depends mainly on the game and the PS5 settings. I typically like the quality mode over the performance mode, so mine typically runs at 60fps. I understand that the PS5 mostly upscales games' resolution to 4K. My receiver has 4K passthrough, so it would depend on your receiver for what you get out of it regarding resolution. It does have two HDMI ports. One is eARC.
r/projectors · Hisense C2 Ultra Review Wow! That is interesting. Depending on the medium, I sometimes see a small amount of light bleed around my screen, but nothing like what you see. Mine fixed the screen automatically when I set it up. The only thing I can come up with would be to redo your initial setup and/or move your projector closer to the screen.
r/projectors · Hisense C2 Ultra Review It’s DLP and operates using FSBS.
r/projectors · Hisense C2 Ultra Review I cannot speak to the comparison between the C1 and the C2. What I can say is the C2 Ultra is an amazing projector. It is great for movies, games, and everyday television viewing. I got it so I could have people over to watch football etc. and not have to turn the lights off. I can have all the lights on and still have a fantastic picture.
r/projectors · Hisense C2 Ultra Review I did the auto setup with it. I also moved it closer since the pictures were taken. It recognized the screen and fit perfectly just using the auto setting.
r/projectors · Hisense C2 Ultra Review The calculations are referring to the capabilities of the optical zoom. They are not wrong. Once the projector gets beyond that, it compensates digitally. This is how it makes up the difference. In doing so, I see no issues with picture quality. The problem is that all the big reviewers you see posting reviews on these projectors use high-tech gadgets to get precise calculations that the naked eye cannot distinguish. You could argue that a side-by-side comparison could reveal a difference, but I would say that it would not be significant. I am delighted with the projector and its versatility in adjusting to my setup without having to take out a ruler and get everything a precise distance and height to get a good picture. That makes this projector more desirable to more people because of that. If an individual has to have everything perfect and the gadgets to measure whatever that is, more power to them. I will stick with what I have said and remain happy going forward.
r/projectors · Hisense C2 Ultra Review https://preview.redd.it/ltoyovc8u22e1.jpeg?width=4284&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d9a3e64fb74eda35f972ce4149c33020b7858f1e From the couch. The issue is that when taking a picture, it looks washed out. Whereas, you don’t see that in person.

r/projectors · My Hisense C2 Ultra is really annoying As a former C2 Ultra owner all of this sounds like a defective unit, as I did not experience a single one of these issues in almost a year of use.
r/projectors · Which projector is right for me? I have 9 months experience with the Hisense C2 Ultra and can easily recommend it if it fits your throw distance etc. I have a dedicated darkened room so eventually went with JVC, but the C2 Ultra is outstanding in ambient light situations. I suspect all of these could be outstanding in mixed lighting, but the C2 Ultra is what I have actually used. I never needed the audio portion of it though, so have no comments there.
r/projectors · Projector choice I can definitely tell you that movies I had watched for months on my C2 Ultra in Dolby Vision look every bit as good with JVC's HDR tone mapping. It has to do with the projector knowing its own range and adjusting to content and the JVC is very good at this.
r/projectors · Projector choice No, my son noticed it at times on my C2 Ultra. I saw a tiny bit of speckle at times. I am running NZ700 with reduced laser for a 150 inch 1.3 gain screen, so I have headroom to spare in SDR but am technically underpowered for HDR. I suspect the NZ500 at 100% may be in a similar range. The JVC is all about that black floor, which is incredible. My C2 Ultra certainly delivered far more luminance though!
r/projectors · Looking for recommendations for a lifestyle projector I wonder if that's their way of forcing the maximum contrast range available for Dolby's metadata. My Hisense C2 Ultra does not allow luminance adjustment in the Dolby Vision mode, however it does offer multiple modes and the one called CUSTOM has an 8/10 luminance (instead of 10/10) so I just use that. I set HDR10+ mode to 8/10 to match for metadata content and I'm done. I run SDR much lower, but at the home theater standard of 16 fL.
r/projectors · Valerion vs Hisense I chose the Hisense C2 Ultra (USA) vs the Valerion for several reasons: * Hisense provides the hardware to Valerion * Valerion's EBL gets comments from WOW to WTF (not everybody is reporting awesome results) * C2 Ultra was $500 cheaper * Valerion wasn't very responsive when I was making my purchase decision which made me nervous As others have stated the Vidaa C3 Ultra appears to be mostly an increase in brightness, and brings Dolby Vision to the Chinese market. I already run my C2 Ultra at 4/10 luminance in my room so don't need more brightness, and it has Dolby Vision. I wish I knew if there were other reasons to consider the C3 instead but I cannot discern any for my needs. I do not use the Hisense equivalent to EBL (Scenario Enhancement) for the same reasons many Valerion users leave it off, it can struggle in mixed lighting scenes and shift the color tone at times). I do use their Dynamic Contrast which I find excellent (Valerion has this too).
r/projectors · Hisense C2 Pro for €1400? I'm curious to know your thoughts on the C2 Ultra. I had one and loved it, overall. I only went JVC chasing that last bit of black depth and shadow detail. I'm not sensitive to RBE but one of my children would report seeing it at times.
r/projectors · Does every Hisense C2 Ultra have this much light spill outside the corrected image? Is this normal? Been a little while but I think when I was setting up my C2 Ultra I had the same issue and it was more related to digital zoom than keystone. If you can use the analog zoom only (after the analog range it enters digital) it would be best.
r/projectors · My Hisense C2 Ultra is really annoying Never experienced those things.
r/projectors · Hisense C2 Ultra/Vidda C3 ultra/XGIMI Horizon 20 Pro The C2 Ultra I can testify to, it's excellent and will do very well with ambient lighting.
r/projectors · HT - XW5000ES vs. NZ500 vs. VisionMaster Max I recently moved on from the C2 Ultra (lifestyle) which is incredible by the way to the JVC NZ700 RS2200 because the JVC is the one trick pony I need in my darkened room. Features wise the Hisense delivers a lot more in a mixed lighting environment, and costs far less. It's truly amazing, but I have a darkened room and was never satisfied with the one single reason I own a projector - watching movies. The tech involved in the JVC is 100% focused on that one thing, in a darkened room. One of these days somebody like Hisense is going to come along and compete, but it's easier for them and addresses a much larger market to just keep basing their designs on TI chips that aren't going to deliver the black end of contrast (while of course killing JVC on lumens output). I do find the Max interesting as it has an iris which definitely helps on a native contrast level. Overall though you can see they are relying on software far more heavily than JVC or Sony to still not achieve their depth. The reports of color temperature shifts while EBL does heavy lifting always turned me off. If black levels and shadow detail matter to you a lot (among other things of course, there is a richness to the JVC that you can't just describe on a forum) it seems an easy choice.
r/projectors · Projector choice 100% trading pop for black depth. I run SDR and HDR, so I do not use HDR10+ so that the JVC does all its own mapping frame by frame. One issue with my C2 Ultra was HDR10+ (this does not mean that translates to a Valerion at all). It looked quite dim and is likely because it was trying to follow such a wide dynamic range with such a high nit mastering level in much of the content that it was pushing down the mid-tones to leave more light for upper end bright pop. I have the NZ700 set where it uses its own range very effectively to map content so even though my HDR would not blow a light meter up it pretty much looks like it does.
r/projectors · Projector choice If you want deep blacks due to insane native contrast then JVC should be the obvious choice. I am running an NZ700 on a 1.3 gain matte white 150" screen in a darkened room, 18 feet from lens to screen mounting distance. It has higher lumens than NZ500 but I am achieving SDR 15 fL standard with laser at 74/100 with aperture at -7. HDR wide open the highest it seems to hit in my setup is over 24 fL but I still prefer 74/100 and it pops very nicely without hitting recommended fL standards. I assume that Valerion at 3500 lumens can more easily nail it on the brightness. I moved from a Hisense C2 Ultra and loved that projector except it is really more appropriate for ambient lighting or people who don't care that blacks are charcoal grey. Moving to native 4k is a more cinematic, smooth image. No rainbow effect or laser speckle was another huge plus for me.
r/projectors · Benq w2720i or Hisense C2 ultra I have no comparative info but can confirm the C2 Ultra I purchased months ago has not had any issue thus far.
r/projectors · Hisense Vidda C3 Pro vs Hisense c2 ultra I will clarify what I don't care for anyhow are the onboard speakers, I already have an Atmos setup so I use it with the speakers off. I also don't use the Vidaa OS, which seems fine though, our family is just so used to Roku Ultra including little kids, we stick with that. Those are both personal choices, but I wish I didn't have to pay for those to be included and also the weight is increased with the speakers, and I am ceiling mounted.
r/projectors · Hisense Vidda C3 Pro vs Hisense c2 ultra I like all of it, the C2 was a huge upgrade from the Viewsonic PX701-4K I had before on every level. Dolby Vision and HDR look incredible
r/projectors · Hisense Vidda C3 Pro vs Hisense c2 ultra I am a C2 Ultra owner. It appears the C3 "Pro" (not Ultra) is a step down in lumens but still has all HDR including Dolby Vision. Without knowing if there are other features to consider I would bet that they are virtually identical except Vidaa likely has a Chinese language OS (which would not matter if using other devices via HDMI). The C3 boasts a newer laser but without knowing more it appears its greatest strength is more brightness. The spec lists the same color gamut % coverage as C2, yet it adds a second red laser to increase efficiency. I run my C2 Ultra in a darkened room at a 4/10 luminance so I never cared for the extra lumens. It brings Dolby Vision to the Chinese market, something left off of the C2 series there. I would say price and features would make the decision pretty easily. Be careful with import tariffs these days! I love my C2 and have no doubt I would love the C3, just doesn't strike me as an upgrade for my situation.
r/projectors · What would be the best 4k projector for under $4000 for this room? He did not calibrate them, he gave them forum suggested settings and turned their brightness up to 100% and said here we go. I don't understand how choosing a mode that says CINEMA matters. As an example all of the modes on my Hisense C2 Ultra including FILMMAKER are wildly off from calibrated. White balance isn't correct, color values aren't correct, and brightness / contrast at default also is not correct. The Warm1 mode is wildly off from 6500k cinematic white etc yet it is the default. I have to assume the same with these other units even though I don't use them, that you can in fact calibrate them. It doesn't even take long to dial in the major settings, although admittedly you'd never really get their lamp output exactly the same. He explains that people told him to do it a certain way so he did. That is not calibration. We seem to be viewing them how they come out of the box. I'm pretty new to projectors and until my **Datacolor Spyder X Elite SXE100** arrives next week I've only used free apps and test images / videos to dial it in. Even if he only did that at least they would get the same treatment.
r/projectors · Foot Lamberts for SDR and HDR, Curious For Your Thoughts Good way to look at it. The funny thing is I upgraded from the Viewsonic PX701-4K (3200 lumens claimed) to the C2 Ultra (3000 lumens claimed) and the C2 is far, far brighter in real life. There wasn't even a comparison, I was very surprised. Now I'm interested in just measuring what the app says at 10/10 luminance then measuring the difference at the lower settings, and calculating a rough estimate percentage wise anyhow.
r/projectors · XGIMI Horizon Ultra or Hisense C2 (non pro or ultra)? I own the C2 Ultra, one thing to consider would be the Pro is cheaper but lacks optical zoom. I would figure out the throw distance required on the Pro model and make sure that's a good mounting point for you. C2 Ultra is brighter, so if you're in a darkened room the Pro is likely fine. In a darkened room I run my Ultra at 4/10 laser luminance. Otherwise, I think the Pro would perform the same. I love my Ultra, and a big part of the decision was it handles SDR and all forms of HDR including Dolby. The sharpness and coloring are insane. I use a 150 inch screen. I have not compared to the XGIMI though.

r/projectors · Help me decide my first projector: BenQ TK705STi vs. Epson Lifestudio Flex Plus EF-72 The BenQ is brighter and you get a bigger image much closer to the screen. Also it has better input lag for gaming. The Benq brightness is 3,000 lumens and the Epson is 1,000. Epson EF72 isn't a good 4k projector as it has poor sharpness. The youtuber The Hook Up who reviewd it said it's sharpness was worse than a 1080p projector. You should also look at the HiSense C2 Pro or Ultra if you want higher refresh rate for gaming. Also the Benq X3100i is good option for gaming.

r/projectors · At $2500, looking for the best 4K projector, narrowed it down to 4 options but still going in circles You’ve got a strong shortlist, and in a dedicated dark room for movies, the Epson 5050UB still stands out for its black levels and overall cinematic image, which is why it keeps coming up even over budget. The BenQ W4000i is probably the closest alternative if you want a more modern feel with good color accuracy, while the Hisense C2 Ultra and Nebula X1 lean more toward feature-heavy options but can be a bit less consistent. If you want something that just delivers a natural, film-like picture on a 120" screen, I’d lean 5050UB or W4000i. As a side note, the Dangbei DBOX02 Pro is a nice example of a newer, easy-to-use projector with great out-of-box color, even if it’s not directly competing in this price range.

r/projectors · At $2500, looking for the best 4K projector, narrowed it down to 4 options but still going in circles Honestly, it depends on how much you value modern amenities. If you only want top-notch image quality, have your own dedicated streamer, don’t care about a built-in smart OS, and can deal with the size/age of the platform, the 5050UB is still a very solid purchase, especially if you can find a good refurb or used model. If you care more about modern features, the Hisense C2 Ultra definitely offers more for the money. It’s brighter, more compact, has a much more modern feature set, and is easier to live with, though I’d understand wanting to buy it from somewhere with an easy return/warranty process given the mixed QC reports. The Nebula X1 is also very good for image quality, but the main drawback, as mentioned elsewhere in this thread, is the sluggish OS. It really is quite slow. The BenQ W4000i has good image accuracy, wide color, decent placement flexibility, and makes sense if you want a natural-looking image without going all-in on smart features. The one thing I’d double-check is throw distance: with a 120" screen, 14ft may be too far depending on whether that’s lens-to-screen distance and how fixed your placement is, so make sure that works for you.
r/projectors · Hisense C2 Ultra vs Valerion Pro 2 Questions Hi! We have both in-house, and we checked them both to see how their eye protection features work. On the Valerion, it dims immediately and overlays a warning that it’ll shut the image off in 5 seconds; once you move away, it comes back about 2 seconds later. On the Hisense it blanks to black with a “stay away from the light source” message, then also shuts the image off after 5 seconds, and returns about 2 seconds after the path is clear. So yes, it can interrupt a game if kids/pets trip the sensor, so you might want to disable it during sports.

r/projectors · C2 Ultra Vs Nebula X1 Just recently got aC2 ultra and am quite pleased/impressed with it. I replaced an old nebula lite (I know, completely different price bracket), which served me well for nearly 8 years. I considered an x1, as I feel somewhat loyal to anker, but was put off by the price and some reviews that complained about some rainbow effects with it. One slight against the C2 ultra is that I feel like I'm going to drop it one day when moving it (which I do a lot), due to its pivoting nature, and no clear way to carry it. It just takes a bit more care than the nebula with its fixed shape and dedicated handle. HTHs

r/projectors · Hisense C1 for €700, XGIMI ultra for 800 or wait for C2 to go on sale for 900? All of the following is my opinion based on reviews I've seen and not owning any of the projectors you mentioned. As far as Im aware, the Hisense C line falls between the Xgimi Horizon 20 series and the Xgimi Horizon series (i.e., Horizon 20 series > Hisense C series > Xgimi horizon series). In addition to that, projectors are evolving so quickly recently that each year marks a big jump forward. Having said that, the Hisense C2 is in the newest model from your options and one of Hisense's premium home projector models in this price range. If you can wait for it to go on sale, I'd personally go for that. It's not the projectors youre reviewing specifically, but just as an FYI the comparison from The Hook Up between the C2 Ultra and the Horizon S Max (i.e., the premium versions of the C2 and Horizon Ultra lines) showed the Hisense being significant better. https://youtu.be/ClIboELoz74?si=m8crgcVenSc5SOxD I also found this review incredibly helpful for me to focus on projectors that I'm interested in that would cost less than $1,500 (led me to the Valerion streammaster plus for my price range). https://youtu.be/9QqnfJ0-I_s?si=dF3RBSA-E-Kafonp
r/projectors · From Epson to modern Projectors, the past view years in my view. whats yours? No direct comparisons that I know of, but you can use The Hook Up youtube channel for some indirect comparisons: 2024 video: https://youtu.be/ClIboELoz74?si=LuXcmLdvPU4Cgoo2 - compares C2 Ultra with Valerion Pro 2 (Valerion wins) 2025 video: https://youtu.be/F6mFV7XQC3o?si=PILNG5RS4_h22z2R - compares Valerion Pro 2 with Xgimi Horizon 20 max (close competitor to Valerion Pro 2 and possibly overtakes if it fixes DBL software issue as promised). To be clear, I dont own any of them. I've just been researching for a new projector and comparing the Hisense C2, Xgimi Horizon 20, and Valerion Pro 2 and my general take so far is Valerion visionmaster Pro 2 > Xgimi Horizon 20 > Hisense c2 ultra (not considering price).

r/projectors · Hisense C2 4K Ultra If it’s used you’ll want to know how many lamp/light hours it has. Also 1 yr flys by rather quickly.
r/projectors · Hisense C2 Ultra discoloration at bottom of image If your projector is the size of a country house I understand why you don’t use it everyday. I can imagine the strength it takes just to pick up the truck sized remote. Did you try flipping the image to see if the tint switches to the top? Most likely something is misaligned in the optics, slightly in your case.

r/projectors · Hisense C2 Ultra discoloration at bottom of image This issue is very similar to what 3LCD projectors kept upside down get when they overheat: a lens next to the lamp overheats and melts the glue, which causes it to slide out of place and show these limes. Your best bet is to claim warranty on it and next time it comes, make sure it doesn't overheat (don't keep it on more than necessary, clean filters often etc).

r/projectors · Hisense C2 Ultra discoloration at bottom of image I've heard that some projectors can overheat if not placed properly, that can lead to color distortion or that burned effect, it looks to me like that, did you smell it?, but if you have still some warranty and didn't do any weird placement of the projector, you should call them, it should not overheat with the use you mention,it might be a factory issue on your unit.

r/projectors · Vidda(Hisense) C3 ultra (short review) and buying advice for EU No, C2 Ultra is the western version of the Vidda C2. There's no C3 Ultra western release just yet, but you can find comparisons of the C2 Ultra vs Vidda C3 Ultra online, it's an incremental improvement (dolby vision etc now in C3, slightly better brightness etc)
r/projectors · Vidda(Hisense) C3 ultra (short review) and buying advice for EU I was thinking of doing the same, but ended up opting for the regular Western C2 Ultra. The C2 Ultra was discounted here for £1299 on Amazon after discounts. The Chinese Vidda C3 Ultra was around £1100 including shipping assuming I didn't get slapped with customs fees / import duties (a risk). I decided paying $270 extra for the western version is worth it for the better warranty (no headache shipping the product), and the region-locked apps. I have a Fire Stick 4K Max but usually use the in-built apps, the software / processor on the projector just seems to play content better on native apps vs an external stick, I 100% notice the difference and I've seen other people this sub mention it too. If you can find a good deal on a western model, I'd recommend that over the incrementally better C3, but otherwise you can't really go wrong with either

r/projectors · Hisense C2 Ultra vs Valerion Pro 2 Questions What you mention about the eye protection is still the same on the Valerian. It's like few seconds before it starts playing content again. If you don't like it, you can turn it off. Furthermore, know the C2 has not done any update that gets it closer to the Valerian. The ebl and tone mapping are still better on the valarian
r/projectors · Valerion Visionmaster Pro 1 or Hisense C2 Ultra I think you almost answered your own question. Two of the most important factors to you the Valerian is better. With the price point being similar why consider the C2? BTW the dynamic dimming on the C2 is not that good compared to the Valerian
r/projectors · Purchase Decision: Valerion VisionMaster Pro 2 vs. Hisense C2 Ultra The dynamic dimming of the Valerian is far better. They're not even close. When it comes to dark chains I'd get the Valerian and that would even be the case against the c3. As again the dimming is far better

r/projectors · Purchase Decision: Valerion VisionMaster Pro 2 vs. Hisense C2 Ultra I have a C2 Ultra and I agree with this. The C2 Ultra is fantastic as my first 4k projector but it's challenging to find a proper setup especially for an apartment. The flagship Xgimi 20 has both horizontal and vertical lens shift which will preserve the sharpness of the image.

r/projectors · Is there anyone who is undecided between Hisense M2 Pro and C2 Ultra? Tbh, I have the C2 ultra and don't think the sound is all that great. So also take the C2 pro in your comparison and add something like the Sonos beam perhaps, which also makes it portable in most circumstances and you'll have 10x better sound. I am also considering a N1s 4k and a M2 pro, just as a more travel/trip friendly option besides my C2.
r/projectors · Is there anyone who is undecided between Hisense M2 Pro and C2 Ultra? Don't really get your reply. The C2 pro is actually a lot cheaper and has more lumen. Looking back, I probably should have gotten the C2 pro myself. If you can't light control your room(s); get the C2 pro or ultra but the ultra isn't worth the extra cost imo. If you can light control your room(s) the M2 is probably ok or even best choice for you

r/projectors · Hisense C2 Ultra - light showing on either side of my screen I wish I had taken a picture last night, I'll do it tonight. It's not rounded like in the video above (thanks for posting it btw!), it's a sharp line to the left and right of my screen, roughly 1 foot out on either side. It's as if the rectangular projection on my screen is \~10% larger than my screen, but the digital zoom keeps the main viewing image perfectly on my screen, but it is still throwing light to the extraneous 10%. Does that make sense?

There's going to be about a 5% border around no matter what- it's just a dumb quirk of dlps- the easiest solution for that is a screen with a thicker black border or a black wall- I used sticky black wallpapee behind my screen and it completely knocks it out.

r/projectors · Looking for suggesting on home theater projector replacement, too many options out there As far as the lifestyles go... they are excellent for times when ya dont want full on theater sound. The sound quality on the c2 ultra for example is exceptional and I tend to use the built in speakers more often than my 5.1.4 system. For movie nights the surround is great.. but for normal viewing, the built in is way better and in my case near by, so it doesnt have to be anywhere near as loud. Also the picture and features are amazing for the price point. Its not the blackest of blacks... but its still amazing colors and clarity.
r/projectors · Hisense C2 vs Benq X3100i Piggy backing... I'm in the same ball park.. I was initially going to get the xgimi horizon s max, and then immediately noticed no regular hdr10, which led to that video comparison of all the "lifestyle" projectors in that range. If it was still kick starter prices I'd have the valerion max on the way already, but I missed that boat. I'm leaning towards the c2 ultra, but its just slightly more than I want to really spend. What other comparable options are there that have all the same bells and whistles, $1500-$2000 range. Not limited to "lifestyle" types?
r/projectors · Looking for suggesting on home theater projector replacement, too many options out there You missed the point of what I said.. I have surround too (and its really nice)... and use the built in speaker more. Its much more enjoyable for everything but movies, especially late at night. Its also nice to have if ya ever decide on a movie night outside. That said its just a nice extra on them. The better ones have reallllllly great picture worth getting them for alone. There is better out there, but not without at least doubling the price for just slightly better images.
r/projectors · Hisense Laser Cinema PX3-PRO Vs. VisionMaster Pro 2. Have you considered the c2 ultra? I finally took the plunge and have one arriving tomorrow. I was on the fence between the horizon s max, the c2, and pro 2. The s max stopped being on sale (went back to $1900 instead of $1600), dramatically decreasing the value benefit. Then it became a shoot out between the c2 and pro2.. and while from a purely picture quality standpoint the pro 2 is probably better.. I wasn't sure if was gonna be $500 better. On top of that, I plan on actually moving it around, and taking it places, so and the c2 won out on those features, with the built in gimbal and slightly better sound capabilities.
r/projectors · Hisense C2 Ultra Review (Slightly above novice review) The differences probably result from running it all full brightness during the day, and it heats up more.. but then at normal darkroom brightness is probably doesn't need to ramp up the fans to stay cool.

r/projectors · Looking for a projector with a low input lag I recently tried it and returned, disappointed. The colours really go bleak with game mode on, I struggled to get decent blacks, etc. The obstacle monitoring feature kept glitching, I had to switch it off. The laser speckle was hard on eyes - the eye strain was incredible. This goes nowhere near any half decent monitor quality. Unless your absolute priority is a huge screen, I wouldn't look at a projector so far.

Also, the Valerion is literally made in the exact same factory as the C2 Ultra. if there are quality issues with the valerion the same issues will be present in the C2 ultra. I am a part of that valerion facebook group and the poster has said nothing about what company they received the email from, additionally valerion themselves said that they have not authorized any third party EU retailers. This whole post feels very weird to me.

r/projectors · Hisense C2 vs Benq X3100i I'm in absolutely the same boat, replacing a Benq W2700 with a big bright stuck pixel in the centre of the screen. This has me suddenly obsessed with type of DMD chip, as the W2700 had a TI 0.47 DMD and they're more susceptible to stuck pixels than larger ones. I really want this projector to last more than 5 years. Almost all new lifestyle PJs use a TI 0.47 DMD, including the Hisense C2 Ultra and Valerion Pro 2. Valerion Pro 2 looks stunning but I'm concerned about after-sales support and that DMD chip. The fledgling Aussie dollar also sees it at about AUD$5000. The C2 Ultra can be had here for around AUD$3800, and at least Hisense have local support. So that's my other option. The 3100i has a 0.65 DMD, and uses LED light sources with no colour wheel, which with my limited knowledge gives me slight hope it might have a decent lifespan. And for their faults, Benq were quite good with support inside warranty period - I just want something that will categorically last well beyond that. I can currently get that for about AUD$2900.

r/projectors · Hisense C2 Ultra Review (Slightly above novice review) Ok i just received the same mounting bracket you got. But in my case when I screw the 1/4” mount in all the way, the projector does not face the wall 90 degrees. Since there is no way to adjust the angle I need to turn the C2 Ultra back about 1/5 of a turn to face the wall directly but then it’s a little wiggly when touching it. Did you find a solution for that or do you think it’s fine this way not all the way screwed in?
r/projectors · Hisense C2 Ultra Review (Slightly above novice review) Question from fellow C2U owner: if you have a sound system with eArc and a PS5, where do you plug in which? Normally it’s clear - eArc (HDMI 2.1) is made for your home theater system. But if you only got one 2.1 port would it not be better to be used with the PS5 for better gaming performance?

r/projectors · Help Choosing a Portable Laser Projector: Nebula Cosmos 4K SE vs JMGO N1S Ultra vs Hisense C2 Ultra Thank you for your input. One german review said that the peak brightness on the Hisense is only available in a special “high brightness” mode which projects the picture witch a very strong green tint. They measured the nominal brightness after self calibration of the Hisense at 2200 lumen. I found one review of the JMGO N1S Ultimate said the measured peak brightness of 2800 lumen but they have not said anything about a discoloration of the picture. The price difference right now where I live is 265 USD betwenn the JMGO N1S Ultimate vs Hisense C2 Ultra. I am still leaning towards the higher lumen option of the JMGO. How important is the optical zoom option? Will I need to be much closer to the screen with the Hisens Then with the JMGO?

r/projectors · Hisense C2 Ultra Review (Slightly above novice review) Thanks for the review. I currently have an Epson HD1060, and outside of having an extremely noisy fan (for some reason mounting it upside down and telling the settings to invert the image causes the fan to run high), it does ok and nobody has ever complained about the crappy contrast or image quality because the novelty of having a 130” viewable area more than makes up for it. But I do thinking about making the most of the space and upgrading when watching a dark movie. I’ve thought about splurging on the Sony xw5000es - I thought it looked amazing in a store demo, but it’s good to hear I might not have to go crazy to get an enormous gain.

r/projectors · Hisense C2Ultra vs Benq x3100i X3000i owner- I wouldn’t bother with the x3100i if you have to put it in the corner and use keystone. This projector is purpose built for low latency gaming but using any keystone disables this core feature so I’d probably cross this off your list given the use case. Your budget is pretty high to the point I would look at some higher end models on sale or refurbished. They will have lens shift that allows for flexible placement without the compromise of keystoning. And as a plus they will almost certainly have better contrast. Epson 5050 (downside of bulb) or ls11000 (laser w/downside of needing to wait for refurb stock and still being a little above budget) both have been around the 2500 price at various points. If you don’t really care about the above stuff the c2 seems pretty easy to place and has auto keystone. Not this sub’s cup of tea but sometimes you just want something that works and doesn’t require you to rearrange your room just to watch something.

r/projectors · Hisense C2 Ultra 3D issue. Try this Op: Your Xbox One X and Kodi setup are likely outputting a 4K signal by default, forcing the projector to handle upscaling/downscaling simultaneously while managing active 3D shutters. **On your Xbox One X:** Go to *Settings > General > TV & display options* and manually switch the resolution from 4K UHD to **1080p**. Let the console output native 1080p directly. **On Kodi:** Check your system display settings and lock the user interface/output resolution to **1080p at 24Hz or 60Hz** rather than allowing a 4K container. 2. Disable Motion Smoothing (MEMC) On the Hisense C2 Ultra, motion interpolation settings (Ultra Smooth Motion) do not function properly or track correctly when a 3D signal is active. Having it turned on introduces a "frame behind" look and artificial judder. Go to your projector's **Picture Settings > Advanced Settings > Motion**. Turn **Ultra Smooth Motion / Motion Compensation completely OFF**. 3. Check for the "Reverse 3D Sync" Option Active DLP Link 3D glasses can occasionally fall out of sync with the frame sequence, which causes the left and right eye images to swap. This results in a "warped," physically nauseating effect where the background looks closer than the foreground. Press the settings button while the 3D movie is playing. Look for a setting called **3D L/R Swap** or **Invert 3D Sync**. Flipping this setting will instantly snap the depth perception back into place and clear up the ghosting.
r/projectors · Screen for Hisense C2 Ultra You could try to increase the bias lighting level to help offset the projector brightness. Another suggestion would be to install sound absorption panels on the wall to help break up some of the reflection.
r/projectors · Screen for Hisense C2 Ultra The problem you’re facing is that the entire wall and ceiling are painted white. If you paint the wall a darker color, you’ll reduce the amount of light that bounces off the surface which in return can reduce eye strain. r/projectors · My Hisense C2 Ultra is really annoying Did you ever have problems with brightness pumping or flickering on the C2? I love it for the most part but then I'll play something like Dune 2 or The Batman and it's unwatchable. I've tried disabling dynamic everything, which results in a worse picture, and it doesn't solve it. I've also tried different frame rates, SDR vs DV, etc, with no luck.

r/projectors · Screen for Hisense C2 Ultra Thanks for the reply. That actually makes sense. Never thought that ceiling and side walls have impact!! In my situation painting the wall wouldn't be possible. As for bringing the laser down, I even tried at 0, it helps a bit, but still a little too bright. It doesn't kill me, but it's not ideal either. So you think, grey screen wouldn't solve the problem? Or tampering with my bias lighting? One more thing, I placed the projector 4m away from the screen on the corner of the room on top of Ikea book library, so do you think changing the placement (for example bringing it to a lower level or closer to the screen) would make a difference?!

r/projectors · Best projector (movies & gaming) for mixed use room under $3k? You’re definitely looking in the right range already. The Epson 5050UB is still one of the safest picks for movie quality and black levels, while the Hisense C2 Ultra is more modern with great brightness, color, and gaming features. Since your room has some ambient light and you want mixed use, I’d also take a look at the Dangbei DBOX02 Pro because it balances movies, sports, and casual gaming really well with strong brightness and very easy setup. For a first projector, any of those would honestly be a huge upgrade over a TV experience at 120"+.
r/hometheater · Best Home Projector for a New Home theater in 2026 For a dedicated 120–150” home theater at around 10–12 feet viewing distance, you’re already in the range where image quality differences really come down to contrast, black levels, and lens quality rather than just brightness or specs on paper. That’s why models like the Epson LS12000 and JVC NZ500 are still considered the safest “endgame” choices if your priority is true cinema-like depth and you want to install once and not think about upgrades again. The newer triple-laser projectors like the Hisense C2 Ultra, XGIMI Horizon 20 Max, Valerion Pro 2, or JMGO’s upcoming N3 Ultimate are definitely closing the gap and offer a lot more convenience with smart features and easier setup, but they still don’t quite match JVC-level contrast in a fully dark room. Something like the Dangbei DBOX02 Pro is a good example of this newer generation, very easy to place, strong brightness, and flexible enough for changing room plans, but more focused on convenience than absolute reference image quality. If I were you, I’d mainly decide based on whether you want “best possible cinematic image” (Epson/JVC) or “modern all-in-one ease of use” (triple laser options), and the biggest thing to lock in early to avoid headaches is your exact throw distance and screen size before choosing anything.

r/projectors · Hisense C2 Ultra or Xgimi Horizon 20 Pro The colors do look really good. I read some reviews saying the xgimi blacks looked more washed out than the hisense. After everything and your words im now leaning more towards hisense. Ive been seeing there is also the c3 vidda now that can be purchased from China and have been considering that, although it seems like it runs a Chinese OS(menus are in english) but doesn't include the Google TV operating system. I dont care so much about that as ill be using a firestick but my main things are contrast/color/brightness, my living room has blackout curtains but id like to be able to have a light or two overhead on. Im still on a benq ht2060 and when lights come on its totally washed out on a fixed frame screen. Since a projector is a purchase ill be keeping for awhile, id like to make the right decision and id rather not buy 3 different projectors at once and try them out because that's a good chunk of change to drop. Thank you for your help though, I appreciate the response and the pictures, trying to make this decision and place an order in the next couple days.

r/projectors · Hisense C2 Ultra or Xgimi Horizon 20 Pro I stuck with the Hisense bc I felt like the color looks better. That is totally subjective but I do work in film where I’m constantly in meetings about color correction. Contrast is probably similar imo. I think xgimj is still working on fixing their dynamic contrast feature but I don’t like to use them. In the other projectors I’ve tried I could always see the projector processes the image then adjust the black level every time it switched scenes. Even though it was a split second it still bothered me. I’ve watched a few movies with the projector and used it for the Super Bowl on Sunday and have been very happy with it. I find myself fiddling with the color less, which is what was important to me. Brightness hasn’t been an issue for me, or something I was super concerned about. Only on Sunday when the Super Bowl started at 3:30 was I concerned about it being too light at my friends house but it was just fine. Even with a decent amount of ambient light we could watch the game no problem. I’ve included a photo of it at the beginning of the game around 3 in the afternoon. Hope that helps! https://preview.redd.it/jigtja1cgwig1.jpeg?width=4284&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=878d87022cff27706b664c2002fc142e0de39873

r/projectors · Best (for my uses) 4k Projector under £1000 UK I did have my eye on the Horizon Ultra but was put off by the poor contrast ratio (http://youtube.com/watch?v=3KmKv-TTIQQ&t=727s), and the lack of gimbal stand. I would have happily gone with the Horizon 20 (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9QqnfJ0-I\_s&t=1121s) but we get shafted in the UK for prices (£1499 in the UK vs $1559 in the US). So I went to the hookups older videos to try and get something under £1000, which got me interested in the Hisense C2 ultra (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ClIboELoz74&t=65s), still bloody over budget! But then I came across the good people of Reddit and AVS forum recommending the Vidda C3 ultra which is available through Alibaba, Mine came to £1041.93 shipped (might be less now), so seemed like a no brainer to get a newer model for less than the C2 ultra. So far I'm very happy with my decision, it's definitely the best specs I could get in my budget. It has HDMI 2.1, but apparently the chip can't handle 4K 120 hz even though your source will detect it as 120 hz capable, it isn't. The pros, amazing colours and contrast ratio, decent speakers - good base, low input lag (reportedly, I've gamed on mine and notice no lag - but then again I'm old and bad), optical zoom, really fkin' bright, good upscaling to 4K. The negs, no warranty, Chinese OS, needs a streaming stick for use, and laser speckle is baaaad (I'm projecting onto a matte white wall, yeah I'm buying a screen next!).

r/projectors · Projection with a Sideways Angle on Hisense C2 Ultra Digital keystone correction *always* degrades image quality significantly. There are [33 current projectors under $3000](https://www.projectorcentral.com/projectors.cfm?g=2&exp2=1&hls=1&vls=1&oop=1&sort=prlow#list) with optical lens correction (known as 'lens shift'), which don't pose the same issues. r/projectors · Projection with a Sideways Angle on Hisense C2 Ultra it will not work. projectors are designed to focus on a plane that is perpendicular to the beam. you can get away with 1 or 2 degrees off-centre and digital keystone correction, but 45 degrees is way too much. Even the Fuji Z6000, designed for use in challenging spaces, has maximum 35% horizontal lens shift.

r/projectors · Projection with a Sideways Angle on Hisense C2 Ultra I'm not sure if I understand how much off axis it will be. It seems like a lot. My C3 is basically at almost at the right border of the screen, so it's a significant distance (I think probably 70 to 80cm, I didn't calculate the angle). I was expecting to see the effect of the keystone, but to my surprise, it's very very difficult to notice (and I really pixel peeped). I was planning to hang it on the wall but finally left it on the side. The image quality is great, really. 45° seems more extreme though, could you confirm where you want to put it ?
r/projectors · Xgimi horizon 20 vs. Hisense c2 ultra vs. NexiGo TriVision Ultra The Xgimi has lens shift right ? But it's optical zoom is less practical than the Hisense (I don't know got the n'exige). It could be a factor when it comes to placement.

r/projectors · Projection with a Sideways Angle on Hisense C2 Ultra No. If keystoning even works, your resolution will be so low as to be unusable. Projectors, really, really like to be mounted straight on per spec. Only higher end projectors have optical lens shift, but I don't know of any that could handle that angle. They'd be in the 10s of thousands of dollars.

r/projectors · Hisense C2 Ultra or Xgimi Horizon 20 Pro Glad I could help. Btw. initially I wanted to get a screen but now I’m using it directly on a white wall and it looks awesome. Let us know your thoughts once you got it
r/projectors · Hisense C2 Ultra or Xgimi Horizon 20 Pro I have the C2 ultra and a friend has the 20 pro. By looks the xgimi wins. By sound the C2 ultra wins. By UI ease of use and smoothness the C2 wins. By SW versatility the xgimi wins (google os). By brightness for daytime viewing the xgimi wins (4100lm vs 3000lm). By picture quality and contrast the C2 wins. xgimi vs hisense in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6mKQqU6t\_1s. Conclusion for daytime viewing I'd get the xgimi 20 pro and for overall picture quality I'd definitively get the C2 ultra. Btw. on Alibaba you can already get the upcoming C3 and C5 (XR10 in Europe) with the Chinese OS if you are feeling adventurous.
r/projectors · Advice needed: Valerion VisionMaster Pro 2 vs XGIMI Horizon 20 Pro (RBE sensitivity + White Wall) I got the hisense c2 ultra (3000 lumen) and it‘s great just on my not even completely smooth white wall. If the wall is reasonably flat it will work fine. I have never tested a valerion. If you‘re looking for something brighter then go for the xgimi 20 pro (4100 lumen). I chose the c2 because I liked the contrast better than on the xgimi but on the other hand 4100 lumen make daytime viewing better. PS: On alibaba you could even get the vidda c5 (hisense xr10) with 6100 lumen. But don’t ask me how warranty cases are handled there.

r/projectors · Vidda(Hisense) C3 ultra (short review) and buying advice for EU I just bought the XGIMI Horizon Pro on the €699 sale they were running in December before I found out about Vidda (aka. Hisense), haven't gotten the projector yet but am immediately going to sell it to get either the C2 Ultra or the C3 Ultra, depending one whether I get €1000 or €1100 for selling the XGIMI, which is back to €1299 now. Xgimi Horixmzon Pro has "4K"60Hz but it only has 1080P60Hz too, which I thought was strange. The Hisense having "4K"120Hz and even 1080P240P plus much lower input lag with XGIMI only going as loelw as 35ms in Gaming Mode (meaning you can't change any features/calibrations) whereas the C2U goes down to around 10ms and the C3U goes all the way down to 4.6ms on 1080P240Hz. There's just no comparison and the Viddas are even cheaper too! They're brighter, faster, clearer, more customisable, arguably way better looking, you name it!

r/projectors · Vidda(Hisense) C3 ultra (short review) and buying advice for EU They actually improved it on c3 ultra (the one I got), not sure how bad it was with c2, after first couple of days i stopped noticing it completely. And I don't even have a screen just white wall.
r/projectors · Vidda(Hisense) C3 ultra (short review) and buying advice for EU Fair point I was also thinking about doing the same thing, but the cheapest C2 Ultra I could find was 1799€ (maybe I was looking at the wrong time). Either way the difference was 700€. I decided that I could almost buy a second one for the price I am saving. And the increase is actually not incremental. It's definitely not as huge as going from c1 to c2 ultra etc... But the new laser technology actually adds a decent amount at least what I did was watch a bunch of Chinese reviews (using AI to translate), and a lot of them compared those two. It's a good bit brighter it has newer laser has much better contrast, and less issues with speckles from what I seen. But in your place I would have bought the C2 ultra too. You made a great decision I hope you are happy with what you got. I got Google 4k streamer which is a bit more powerful and I can't compare it to their own output, maybe you just need to play with the settings a bit. I spent like good 8 hours playing with settings when I first got it until I got the picture I like ( compared it to the OLED Monitor, tried to get as close as I can), and I think I am 95% there. Also this is Risky, but at least with older models it's possible to flash English firmware to Vidda, but huge chance to brick it, and firmware is hard to get, so I would not consider this is an option. Either way. Hope you are happy with your purchase, if you have any tips or tricks please share.

r/projectors · BenQ W2720I or Hisense C2 Ultra on a 150" Screen ? go for HT4550i refurb or, if adamant on new, go with the TK710. The W2720i will work well on a 150 screen, but you won't see good HDR because it's such a big screen and HDR on projectors gets much worse after like 128. I HATE that the c2 ultra or c3 don't have lens shift and also the mounting options suck for lifestyle projectors. I would pick the TK710 over a heartbeat because of the brightness. r/projectors · BenQ W2720I or Hisense C2 Ultra on a 150" Screen ? Thanks alot for your input, I will have a look at that specific BenQHT4550i - Not sure if it has another model number here in Europe ? The TK710 I have been checking on that, it's throw distances (it can do the 150" in my room), but it will have to be mounted in the ceiling like 1 meter out from the wall, making it more visible in the living room, as if it (like BenQ 2720 + Hisense C2) can be mounted way back at the wall and still project the 150" from a 2,7 meter distance.
r/projectors · I've just ordered a BenQ W2720i... Reading your hole thread here with interest ;) Due to the Black Friday in my area (offer run til Sunday), I have the Hisense C2 Ultra in shops with a price app. 30% lower than what is is offered for normally. Reading this thread though, brings me thoughts to consider, and that is if I should choose the BenQ W2720i instead. My coming setup (refurbishing the living room atm), will be a 150" screen and watching from a close distance of only just 4 meters, here both projectors offers great throw distances - but would you have any concern by the BenQ W2720i to project on a 150" screen size ? Believe I noticed some mentioning not to have it to project on screens wider than 3 meters (150" = 3,32 meters wide). Laser surely should provide high level lights to the 150", but evetnually it could also be tooo much ? And 3,32 meters, is just a little step over the 3 meter width, so hope the BenQ would do it. Coming from a old well used and still running BenQ1070W with a 110", it should be a pretty great step up - eventually I can be a little concerned about the waranty on the Hisense, and knowing BenQ from 10 years with the 1070W i feel kinda better of staying with them. Please let me know what you think, thanks ahead!
r/projectors · BenQ W2720I or Hisense C2 Ultra on a 150" Screen ? Won't be doing that - As I allready come from 110" - And in relation with refurbishing the house, I have closed/sealed a door off, and build a new wide wall in the living room for the exact reason to go for 150" :) I also tried with my old BenQ1070W to run the 150" on that dedicated wall, its GREAT and I LOVE IT :) Only thing is that 1070W is a "little old" now, and aswell it can project the 150" but only if its placed with its rear sticking out the window haha, so throw distance is too long for 1070W, where both Hisense + BenQ 2720i will do the "new job" in terms of throwing big at shorter distance :)

r/projectors · Hisense C2 Ultra Review (Slightly above novice review) Hi, great review thanks! I just got my C2, have a Bluetooth latency problem with some videos and apps. YouTube is ok when via Airplay but not via the projector app. Some videos better than others. Also on some other apps - anyone have any ideas for best set up or things to try, other than go wired? Thanks :)

r/projectors · Is there anyone who is undecided between Hisense M2 Pro and C2 Ultra? I was facing a similar decision and chose the M2 Pro. Its the newer device, lighter, more compact, has optical zoom, comes with a carrying case, and was €300 (than C2 non ultra) cheaper. It’s more than enough for me since I use it in a small bedroom that I can darken. The C2 (non Ultra) does have higher brightness, a rotating stand, and I prefer that the power adapter connects to the stand. But those advantages were not worth an extra €300 to me. For the price of a C2 Ultra I would rather go for the XGIMI Horizon 20 Pro.

r/projectors · BenQ vs Hisense vs Xgimi tldr: For me, xgimi horizon 20 is worth the wait but hisense c2 ultra is a great alternative. I was in a similar situation. I now have xgimi horizon 20 max but before that I owned: * hisense c2 ultra * xgimi horizon ultra 4k * xgimi horizon s max For me, xgimi horizon 20 is worth the wait. I use the projector for movies, tv shows and gaming on ps5/xbox series x. hisense c2 ultra is better than xgimi ultra 4k and s max simply because it's noticeably brighter and has better darks. The visuals also look very crisp. I was already wowed by xgimi s max but hisense c2 made me go wow again. hisense c2 gaming is superb because it is "Designed for Xbox" meaning it's tested to have low latency and fast responsive time which from my testing it is true. I also noticed I could see more detail when gaming with hisense c2 ultra than xgimi ultra 4k and s max. My main disappointment with hisense c2 ultra is the software. It uses something called "VIDAA OS". Everything works but I preferred a more recognizable brand instead. This isn't a deal breaker though. I'd say hisense c2 ultra will exceed most people's expectations by a lot. xgimi horizon 20 max is slightly better than hisense c2 ultra. I can see more details and color than the hisense c2 ultra. Just as an average consumer, I played the same scene in a few movies and compared both. xgimi horizon 20 max is better but hisense c2 ultra is still very good. Gaming on xgimi horizon 20 max is slightly better than hisense c2 ultra. It's got the same low latency / fast response time but I can see more details. I also like that xgimi horizon 20 uses Google TV for the software. This makes setup a lot easier and I prefer it because it's a more popular brand. I liked that xgimi horizon 20 max comes with a strong case in the package that you can use to store or travel. One slight disappointment is the design looks the same as horizon s max but loses the functionality where the front speaker grill panel moves up to cover the lens. I really didn't expect that as the older ones had that functionality and it protects the lens from damage and getting dust when not in use. Not a deal breaker but a slight disappointment. I would give hisense c2 ultra a grade of 4.5 out of 5 I would give xgimi horizon 20 max a grade of 4.7 of 5

r/projectors · Triple Laser Speckle - How bad is yours and should I return my projector? Just throwing my experience into the mix as well. I got the Hisense C2 Ultra and had the exact same reaction as you, the speckle drove me nuts. I gave it a full two weeks and couldn't live with it. I went with the Nexigo Trivision Ultra as a replacement and the speckle is MUCH reduced, I can kind of still see it sometimes, but the difference between it and the C2 Ultra is night and day. It think the C2 Ultra and the Valerion Pro 2 are very similar in internal parts so it makes sense.

r/projectors · A few days with the Xgimi Horizon 20 Pro & Base Model + Feedback Honestly I love it. Laser speckle is noticable (not distracting) in pure block colour or whites on full brightness (using the Pro), but has never drawn my focus, and is significantly reduced from the Hisense C2 Ultra I previously used. The Base shows slightly less speckle I would assume due to the brightness reduction. If you're doing daytime watching ALR is pretty unbeatable, but if you're doing something light-controlled I've heard good things about standard grey screens, especially Silver Ticket!
r/projectors · A few days with the Xgimi Horizon 20 Pro & Base Model + Feedback Just tried it, Low Latency game mode will disable keystone, however if I had to guess it is about in line @ 4k 60fps with my old C2 Ultra, which if I had to guess would measure between 15-25ms input lag. It is perfectly playable, and would still be in line with most high-end TVs today imo.

r/projectors · Hisense C2 – high-pitch coil whine, normal or defective unit? I have the Hisense C2 Ultra and it's actually the best projector I've ever used. It's great for movies and gaming. The fan is always barely audible. However, I've never experienced the high pitch coil sounds that you recorded. This sounds like a defect or some electrical interference. If support can't help you resolve I strongly recommend you return it. It's an expensive projector that I wouldn't keep if it was making those noises. Hope this helps.

r/projectors · Hisense C2 Ultra vs Horizon 20 Awesome - I bet I would be fully happy and more with the C2 Ultra. It's only the old exercise of turning every stone before making the call so I can forget about other options for a couple of years. Right now my main concern is over durability and longevity of these chinese hyper-advanced models contra something like Benq or Viewsonic that is more a "dumb" unit but maybe more rugged in a sense. It's not something I can base on anything concrete but just a idea I have from other hardware purchases where going for the most advanced can bite you...

r/projectors · BenQ HT2060 vs. Epson EF22 vs. Hisense C2 Sorry, but no, finding one with a decent number of HDMI ports is a problem, you can use a switcher, but nothing beats having one device on each port with CEC enabled. (You might think you are only ever going to use a firestick, but you soon want to connect a blu ray player, a games console or two...) I'm afraid to look seriously in case I find something twice as good at half the price I paid! (Plus it will be a couple of years before I can write off the cost of this one.) The problem with most reviews is they only tell you the good stuff, they don't usually use them properly for long enough to be annoyed at the shortcomings. (Add to the pros the wireless remote. I'm so used to these that work anywhere in any orientation that I didn't mention it, but some projectors still use 20th Century infra-red controllers that I guarantee wouldn't work from where I sit without arm flailing and aiming) I did just look at Currys, they have the C2 Ultra at £1999, which is getting to be better value for money. The C2 is £1399. I'm glad I got the Ultra over the C2. I'd have been perpetually disappointed with the sound from a C2, and I suspect I couldn't have filled my screen from where I had to mount it without the zoom lens. The 1080 picture from the C2U is outstanding on my 100" screen, but I suspect I couldn't tell the difference between it and any other bright projector. The "4K" picture is good, but doesn't strike me as any improvement over 1080, and fine static text is worse. The C2U is still about the best entertainment purchase I've ever made though. At least it has saved me buying a 4K blu ray player and stocking up on 4K discs!
r/projectors · BenQ HT2060 vs. Epson EF22 vs. Hisense C2 I have a C2 Ultra. Pros: has a zoom lens. Absolutely vital unless you are unbelievably lucky with where you can place the projector. bright enough to use in my living room in daylight great sound. Not room filling full surround, but more than adequate spacial effects, without invoking the full surround system and upsetting the neighbours. It has SPDIF optical output for sound if you can't get on with ARC (like me) It will play 3D content in conjunction with a pair of cheap DLP-Link glasses for each viewer. It co-operates nicely with the NVidia Shield, operating it via the projector remote as expected. (I wouldn't need the shield if it ran Android TV not Vidaa though, see cons) Cons: Very overpriced. I'd say the C2 Ultra is worth more like £1500, not the £2500 it was sold at- I believe it has come down a lot, but I refuse to check as I will cry if I could have saved £1000 by waiting a few months. The 4K is pointless, it is just a blurry 1080 picture (XPR actually shows 4 1080 frames shifted half a pixel in rotation, so they blur over the top of each other), with Emperor's New Clothes syndrome. People swear that it is much better than 1080 with moving content, *I* can't see it though, and with static images of text, "4K" is noticeably worse than 1080. If you want a 4K projector, get one that actually is 4K. It suffers from "the rainbow effect" (all DLP projectors do). Once you notice it, it is difficult to *not* keep seeing it! The Vidaa operating system is pants. (There were rumours that Android would be an option, but I seriously doubt that as Vidaa *is* Hisense.) Apps like Plex don't work properly, and apparently never will, and you can't set up operating menu shortcuts- getting it to play 3D SBS or OU content requires an extraordinary amount of button pressing on the remote for each file. It won't play framepacked 3D files as 3D either, or recognise SBS/OU content despite setting the correct flags in the file. (It will autoswitch to 3D when playing a 3D bluray on a bluray player though, but I don't know what comes out of the bluray player) The mount is a bit frightening. just one 1/4" 20tpi threaded bush in the base. I'm half expecting mine to drop off the ceiling any day.. It doesn't have lens shift, so any "correction" is at the expense of resolution. You don't really notice tbh, but when you know you have lost pixels it is annoying. It could certainly do with more HDMI inputs. The bundled stand- a single stalk microphone type stand, is useless. Not stable enough to have in a room with pets/children/adults who move. Overall, if I were buying again, I'd be looking for a bright 1080 projector with zoom, lens shift, good sound and a row of HDMI inputs, I actually like the 3D so I suppose it would have to be DLP, but I'd need to try before I buy to see how bad the rainbow effect is with my eyes.

r/projectors · Looking for recommendations for a lifestyle projector I'd recommend hisense c2 ultra. I spent a lot of time looking at stuff and it was between it and a few benq ones. I'd also say to consider your investment in terms of support. Both Valerion and especially dangbei would have questionable support and likely almost none after 1-2 years. Happened to me with a jmgo n1 ultra... Dlp chip developed a spot after 1.5 years and I regret spending any money on it. But yeah hisense c2 ultra is pretty solid for what you want I think. I don't love gimbal design but it does give you more options and it's a solid device. Coupled with digital zoom it's fantastic and easy to set up. I never use the built in speakers but a few times I tested them it's passable. The built in vidaa ecosystem is also not bad and actually works in Dolby Vision for a bunch of content in Netflix, Disney and apple tv+. Dolby vision looks insane on it, it's like a different projector compared to regular hdr or even hdr10+.

r/projectors · Hisense C2 Ultra Review Hi, after two firmware updates the wifi connection is improved, but not the ethernet (i suspect is a 100mbps one). No longer a problem for me since I have connected a Fire Stick, since Plex for Vidaa does not work. I have come to the conclusion that Vidaa sucks and I don't use it at all. It's a shame there's no Google TV on board, which on my old Xgimi never gave the slightest problem.
r/projectors · Hisense C2 Ultra Review Hello everyone, I just received my C2 Ultra yesterday but immediately encountered a problem. The internet connection speed is very slow, about 50Mbps (I have tried both wifi and ethernet). I have 2.5Gbps fiber and my wireless devices score about 800Mbps connected to the same access point. If I connect a Firestick it runs smoothly, but with the projector apps nothing works (Plex starts playing the video and gets stuck after a few seconds). I connect the projector to a mesh network consisting of an Asus RT-AX88U Pro router and an Asus XT9 access point (wired), do you know of any incompatibilities with these devices? I can understand the problems with wifi, but with Ethernet cable there should be none.... By the way, I don't see that any firmware updates have been released yet (I have the European version, from Germany). I will try a hard reset later, but I wanted to ask for feedback on this from those who already own it. Thanks in advance.

r/projectors · Hisense C2 Ultra Review Think about it logically Say it can produce a 120" screen from 8ft away without any digital zoom and maximum brightness If you move it to 14 feet and use digital zoom to have the 120" the projector is less bright and will have less contrast because the further away it is the further th laser needs to cast The c2 ultra is a short to mid range cast imo I've had the c2 ultra for just under a week now and blown away with it but just wanted to see if I should ceiling mount it much closer rather than have it wall mounted 14ft away and zoomed in
r/projectors · Hisense C2 Ultra Review This is my situation.....I'm about 14 feet away and fill a 120 inch screen with the hisense c2 ultra....however at 14 feet the screen is closer to 150 inches and it has to use digital zoom etc to fit the screen but aren't we losing quality this way?? For example if I sit the c2 ultra about 8 feet away I get the natural 120" and technically wouldn't it be brighter and better? I don't want to use an expensive projector with cut down quality ifni need to use digital zoom to fit the screen ?

r/projectors · Looking to get a projector for the bedroom, to watch stuff while falling asleep For exactly this scenario I‘m using the XGIMI Halo+, works great, looks good enough (can‘t keep up with the Hisense C2 Ultra I got for our living room), and through brightness adjustments you can get it really dim without sacrificing picture quality. Also the timer settings are easily accessible: When I go to sleep and decide to watch some youtube videos I always set it to turn off automatically after 30 or 45 minutes

r/projectors · Updated Review: Hisense C2 Ultra – Got a Screen, and Wow That's good to know. It's strange how they advertise it at 2K 240HZ. Judging by other projectors that does seem a bit too many frames for the resolution. Usually the highest is 144Hz. It might be that it goes up to 120 Hz as you say. I haven't pushed it higher than that so I can't test it. Annoyingly I can't get a custom resolution to work with my AMD 9070 XT and the C2. Tried for hours and it just won't take it. Gutted I'm stuck at 1080P with a brand new gaming rig!
r/projectors · Updated Review: Hisense C2 Ultra – Got a Screen, and Wow From the in game testing I performed the resolution clearly changed when I switched from 1080P to 1440P and the FPS count duely went down. What I couldn't verify was whether I was actually getting over 60 FPS (I completely forgot that the FPS overlay just shows the maximum the game is running at). I checked again and the Projector displayed it was running in 1080P at 240Hz. This stayed the same when I changed to 1440P in game using the custom resolution. This Projector clearly doesn't have a factory 1440P resolution option (as advertised) sadly. I'll keep trying and see if I can work it out. I might contact Hisense and ask them to confirm once any for all if the Projector is capable of (at least) 1440P at 120 FPS. Let me know how you get on with your testing either way.
r/projectors · Updated Review: Hisense C2 Ultra – Got a Screen, and Wow I'll try and do more testing today. It certainly improved the image of the game. I tested it on 'Hellfire' as I can get over a 100 FPS with the 4060. Usually I get over 150 FPS at 1080P, changing it to 1440P it dropped to around 110 FPS (which seems about right I would estimate) and as I say the image looked much better. (I think the Projector was still reporting 4K but it clearly wasn't). To change it right click on the Fesktop and go to Nvidia Control Panel / Change resolution / important scroll down the resolutions to the 'PC' category and click 1080P and 240Hz / Customize / tick 'enable resolution not exposed by the display' / create custom resolution /Horizontal - 2560 / Vertical 1440 / refresh - 240 hz / I left everything else the same. Let me know how you get on.
r/projectors · Updated Review: Hisense C2 Ultra – Got a Screen, and Wow Did either of you work this out? I've been doing some testing. With a laptop that has an RTX 4060 in it I was able to create a custom 'PC' resolution in NVidia settings of 2560 X 1440P at 240 Hz which worked. Annoyingly in my main gaming Rig I have just upgraded to an AMD RX 9700 XT and for the life of me can't create a 2K 240 Hz custom resolution. Neither the Windows display settings nor AMD Adrenalin will allow you to do it. I downloaded CRU (custom resolution utlity) and got close but couldn't quite get tk 2560 X 1440P at 240 Hz. The Projector is capable of displaying it, but why it is not a default resolution in Windows is a pain (especially on AMD GPU's).

r/projectors · Hisense C2 Ultra Review (Slightly above novice review) The C2 Pro imo is actually better than the C2 Ultra. It's considerably cheaper and has better black levels (due to being less bright!). The C2 Ultra is only better if you plan on using it mostly during daylight and if you really want an integrated subwoofer. I would recommend an external sound system anyway, so the Subwoofer is kinda unnecessary. Also look into the Benq w2720i, it is much more color accurate than either of these Hisense projectors and it doesn't have Laser frackle, which is much more pleasant to the eyes.

r/projectors · Xgimi Horizon S Max Vs Hisense C2 Ultra I couldn't decide between c2 and valerion and went away from the dealer with the xgimi, because the other two had extreme laser Speckle. The xgimi reduces it to a minimum with the dual light engine. And the picture is also great. Not the same good black level as the valerion but the 3100 lumen really produce a punchy HDR picture with very good contrast. I use it in a completely dark room with black walls and ceiling against a white masked wall. Will get a grey screen in the future for better black levels.

r/projectors · Hisense C2 Ultra - Is It Worth It? Nope , i went with gp520 and its the best decision so far. Painted a wall with lunar grey satin finish acrylic water based enamel with roller. Google tv is inbuilt , color is good. Game mode, 4k support and got a xgimi desktop stand pro to pair it up for angular adjustment. Now coming to C2 ultra vidda os sucks , sooner or later u will attach a tv box with it. Which would need 2 additional cables , then if it's chromecast then a c hub with power deliver to connect storage. That's 2 more cable. All in all it would be a awkward mess. In my 520 there is only 1 power cable. Xgimi stand helps a ton. Nothing needed. Even if i connect my ps5 still not that much of a mess. C2 ultra picture quality is good, but it's gimbal is almost useless. Price is also absurd. And auto keystone and speckle issues are also there.

r/projectors · Hisense C2 vs Benq X3100i I had the Hisense C1 before upgrading to the XGIMI Horizon S Max, and then the C2 Ultra. Honestly, for the price point, I'm not sure the C2 Ultra is worth it. The native Netflix support is decent, but not a deal breaker vs. cheaper alternatives. I personally didn't notice a huge improvement from the C1 either, aesthetics and gimbal aside. If anything, I felt the auto keystoning and auto focus on the C2 Ultra had a bit of a regression, particularly if you don't have a proper screen. I reckon the C2 Ultra probably works better if you have a large screen. For context, I'm using a plain white wall, and I don't use the projector for video games, so maybe I'm just not using it to its full potential. Mileage may vary.

r/projectors · Hisense C2 Ultra Review I was looking at the throw calculator on projector central and with my 135" screen I'd have to move my projector location a couple feet forward which is a bummer. At 100 inch it's saying between 6.5' to 10.9'. In your picture it sure seems like it's further back than that but pictures can be deceiving. How fat from your screen is it? I wonder if the calculator is wrong. Thank you.

r/projectors · Benq X3100i vs Hisense C2 pro, vs JMGO N1S Pro 4k Get the Hisense C2 Ultra. I've done tons of research on comparing every single one including the Acer mentioned in the comments. When it comes down to the portability, ease of use, contrast ratio, lumens, and input lag, nothing beats the Hisense overall. Plus you're getting the latest technology with the triple lasers. These will last so long and have the best colors.
r/projectors · C2 ultra vs jmgo n1s ultimate Not sure if anyone also mention that the C2 Ultra has a native contrast ratio of 2000:1 vs the 1600:1 of the JmGo N1S Ultimate. I'd rather take 500 lumens less and go with the better contrast ratio. At 3000 lumens, I think that's good enough for the Hisense. The only other one that competes is the upcoming Valerion VisionMaster Max which releases in May 2025 and that has a 4000:1 native contrast ratio with 3000 lumens. They also got the Valerion Pro 2 which releases in December but doesn't have the vertical lens shifting or dynamic iris.

r/projectors · JVC NZ500 HDMI eARC Excuse me kind sir. It has 1.67 digital zoom and theres never any degradation of image, it stays in 4k no matter what you do with the zoom. So you would be fine. Besides, the technology in that thing was developed by JVC...20 years ago. It looks like they just shrunk the old model down and are charging $6000 for it. Its as low tech as you can get. The bnlacks are supposed to crush it but I think its way too much. That new Hisense is one bad mofo.

r/projectors · EPSON 5050UB vs NEW Hisense C2 Ultra/ Xgimi Horizon s MAX Hello friend. They are two different types of projectors with different purposes. The Epson is an excellent projector, but it uses a halogen lamp (4000 hours of use) and is intended to be fixed in one place due to its size and weight. It is for a dedicated living room or something close to that, it is not something you can carry or move from one place to another. That is not its purpose. It also does not have sound, and therefore you have to set aside money to buy good sound equipment if you do not have it. This implies a Receiver and speakers. On the other hand, the xgimi and the c2 are "lifestyle" projectors, meaning that you can move them from one place to another and not necessarily be in a dedicated room. They are Triple Laser projectors with a life of more than 20,000 hours and with built-in sound, as well as autofocus, optical zoom (which the Epson has), Dolby Vision, HDR 10+ IMAX ENHACED, certifications that these certifications lack. For me, lasers are superior in several aspects to halogen lamps, except in contrast that the Epson is better, but you will only notice it in a room with dark walls and ceiling, that is, a dedicated room. Otherwise, for me these Xgimi s-max and Hisense c2 projectors are at least equal in some aspects and better in others. I own the Xgimi Pero the Chinese version RS 10 Ultra. Ex excellent. I hope it is helpful.

r/xgimi · Hold off until the Horizon S Max or go for the Ultra? I had the XGIMI Pro, great projector but lacking in contrast, software not an issue used an Apple 4k box. Tried the previous iteration of the Dangbei wasn’t impressed with the auto focus and keystone so returned it. My current projector is the Hisense C1, superb image however biggest issue I find is that blasted fan which turns on and off every 20 seconds or so (phoned their customer service who says it’s the design - crazy imo). I’d go for the S Max or the Hisense c2 Ultra(but do check out the fan design in case it’s retained….). The upcoming Valerion projectors sound interesting too.

I'm no expert but I would think the eARC is always best for sound. Does the second HDMI not have 2.1 capabilities? When I run my tests on the Apple TV, it says that it runs the highest available video quality.
[https://a.co/d/h2F5Kcd](https://a.co/d/h2F5Kcd) I wish it was flush with the ceiling but this was the closest I could get. Kinda strange Hisense doesn't have their own version.
I echo the OP. Just received my C2 and have been nothing but impressed with the picture and the quality. Also got it from projectorscreens and their customer support was amazing.
Been hanging from my ceiling for many months with no issue.🤷♂️
Yeah, still worth it. I think the Ultra has an optical zoom and the brightness is higher. Other than that they're the same I think.
I haven't seen much in the way of accessories for the C2. Mounts or carrying cases....🤷♂️
It was an EX9200 which had about 3000 lumens. The C2 Ultra is MUCH brighter even though it's lumens is the same, I'm guessing it has something to do with the laser vs bulb? Not an expert but it's plenty bright for partially lit rooms during the day.
Yeah, going from an Epson to this was night and day. It's not JUST for the clarity and contrast of 4K. For me, it's how vibrant and clear the colors are. It really makes all the difference.
I don't see why not but if you have a shelf in not sure why you would need to put it upside down?
