r/projectors · Epson LS500, LS650, LS800 These are 2x1080 not 4k but they might be the only UST with no laser speckle. I used a LS650 without a screen and was impressed but ended up returning due to the resolution.

r/projectors · UST Under $2K LS650 really shines in a bright environment. If you're going to be watching in the dark with no ambient light there are much better options.

r/projectors · Epson QS100 (or LS800) right against the wall for 80in screen For more day time use or in a room with little light would you recommend JMGO or Epson ls800 or ls650? My friend has ls650 but the dark scenes in many movies look washed out.

r/projectors · Looking to upgrade from Epson LS300 to Epson LS650 i was in the same situation, and went for LS650. The LS800 is superior in every aspect- but not superior enough to command 2x cost for me. I put that extra money onto getting a Samsung Q990D sound system. Happy with my set up.

r/projectors · Looking to upgrade from Epson LS300 to Epson LS650 The LS650 is a solid upgrade from the LS300 and a great value at that price. It will still be very bright and work well in a basement theater. The LS800 is better but only worth it if you need maximum brightness or have a very large screen. For most setups the LS650 makes more sense.

r/projectors · Which Epson UST? I helped my friend set up a used 4K Epson LS650 to a 120” screen. He doesn’t know much about projectors, so compromises had to be made. The projector was placed as low as possible and was 30” away from the wall in order to correctly protect to the 120” screen. I had to mount the screen as high as possible too. I made it work with what was available. https://preview.redd.it/j5vnm0qbr5pf1.jpeg?width=1320&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=1ed6c0d3490b84c1e7fca9bb6bb884f9a33baa58

r/projectors · Hisense PL2 vs Epson LS650 I didn't buy yet - waiting if Hisense makes cashback promo again available. I've been to some shop where they presented LS650 and some other 2700 Hisense single laser mode, and as is, on a grey wall epson is noticabely brighter and more saturated, but i specifically asked to turn all the light on to wash out picture as much as possible. I deemed both devices "watchable" in such conditions. When tested without light, both looked great just on gray wall. When tested on CLR, hisense looked awesome. As we discussed if breakfast TV or watching batman mid-day isn't your main goal during mid-day, PL2 is better tech - newer model. Epson looks better if light is concern. Personally i lean towards PL2, eventually it can be bought cheaper with cashback, which makes buying screen more likely in the future. Plus I like throw ratio better, because epson needs some 70-80 cabinet to throw 110".

r/projectors · Epson LS800 Stuck on boot Today 31 July, 2025, I called epson support to get an update. 2 or 3 days ago they said they will pass my issue to technical support and "get back to me within the hour..." Well they didn't so I called again today. Nothing about the actual issue was discussed in this interaction; the agent simply told me, despite that the standard epson warranty has expired last February of this year, they will "overlook" that and send or exchange it for another unit. I only have to reply back to the support email thread and attach proof of purchase, plus a picture of the projector underside clearly showing the label with the serial number. I have done so, my fingers are crossed, and I will update here. On a side note, someone I know just bought an LS650. It's smaller in size, with a slightly lower maximum brightness (3600lumens) compared with the LS800 (4000), otherwise performance is identical with the latter. I feel, setting it up, that some of the gremlins of the LS800 may have been solved here. One, it has eARC where LS800 only had ARC. It's responses to remote button presses are nimble and nearly instant, which half the time I can't say for the LS800. I still want to ask whoever designed these projectors why they omitted wired ethernet, which I would have preferred over wi-fi.

r/projectors · UST Under $2K I've got an LSP7T I'm looking to part with... but it's not as bright as that Epson (2200 lumens vs 3600 lumens).

r/projectors · Are certified ReNew Epsilon ls800 projectors worth it? My original pref/plan was Sony4K native one with B&W 603 S3 set.. about 15K, my media room is 12X15 and can only project on 15 side which would require some dry wall work and re-organizing the 7.1 pre-wiring from builder.. And I realized that expense of 16K is not going get me Cinemark type experience so i decided to do simple set up like UST and Nakamichi shockwave or dragon (plug and play, no drilling walls) .. chose ls800 as it can project upto 150 inc vs ls650 that is upto 120 inch .. Feel free to share thoughts/blind spots i might have. Thank You..

Questions fréquentes
L’Epson LS650 convient-il à une pièce lumineuse ?
Oui.

Hum, I don't mean to be rude but you recommended projectors that I either can't find available or are priced within the 3000 to 6500€ range (my budget is 2000€ with a screen).
