Keyrronr/projectors · Epson QB1000 Review: The replacement for the Epson LS12000 →2025-06-02
So we have this unit in our showroom and I just can’t get over how unsharp the image from this unit looks. Not even in comparison to a JVC NZ500, but even to a BenQ W2720i and Epson LS11000. Epson is considering this to be working as intended but it’s just not looking good. Thought it was a faulty unit at first, but tried another one from a later manufacturing date and it had the same sharpness issue. I just can’t recommend it over the other models in that price range. In the EU, this model is around €5000 btw

How are you making that “totally black screen”? Are you using a Spears and Muncil calibration disc? What mode are you in? I know that using an iPhone to photograph the ls11000, the image will look much lighter than seeing in person. Is this picture representative of what you are seeing with your own eyes? Have you put both of your projectors side by side using same source to make “black screen” to see how they stack up?

This is expected -- I remember reading on a review site, LS11000 was measured to be 1800:1 while LS12000 has 4000:1. In fact the EH-TW9400 (the 6050UB in America) has slightly better black level and contrast than LS12000.

I can only speak for my refurbished LS11000. I caught a good deal on Amazon from the Epson store. The projector came with a blemish on the lens and Epson customer service was amazing and replaced it with a brand new unit. Couldn't be happier with my LS11000, especially for $2800.

Few_Calligrapher2662r/projectors · Advice on buying a projector →2025-11-30
None of those projectors have native 4k resolution The cheapest projector which is a very good option that is native 4k is the Sony VPL-HW 5000ES. I would not recommend it right now due to panel degradation and manual controls at that expensive price point. For a $3,000 price point, don't buy projectors like the Hisense or short throws that have no lens shift. Keystone is BAD IF and only IF your ceilings are at a good height where this projector won't hang too low, then go for the XGIMI Horizon 20 MAX. Also if you plan to place it on a table/not mount it this is a good option. If you don't want that, the number 1 projector I am recommending due to the deal right now is the Epson LS11000. I can't justify why the LS12000 (Slightly upgraded model), is so expensive. Nevertheless, the LS11000 is a great projector with lots of flexibility and at a decently decreased price point NEVER utter the words Optoma lol The newer version of the HT4550i is the W4100i. I like Benq for Home theater, but the fan noise is quite high. I would NOT spend $3000 on the W4100i, instead a GREAT option would be to buy the $1,300 refurb HT4550i from Ebay. This is the best bang-for-your-buck option and is amazing Again, projector lens shift is SO useful, so the only Valerion I would consider would be the MAX 99.99999999% of home theater projectors can project 120 inches +, that is not a good question. The other percent is a cardboard toy. Even the cheapest projectors can probably do 150 if all lights are off I don't like ultra short throw, my opinion is that you will regret if you buy it. Many things need to be perfect for it to work out well. $1,300 refurb HT4550i from Ebay would be the best option as it has 3d support and is very affordable so you can put budget elsewhere If your space permits, then you could go for the XGIMI, but I wouldn't because for half the price I can get a projector that's as good or better refurbished. Consider the Benq W2720i also but I wouldn't go with it

BackupTimr/projectors · Choosing a projector for a living room - LG HU710PW or BenQ TK710 →2025-08-02
If anybody stumbles on this post of mine. Using the information provided by TechNick1-1 I did some additional research and have ultimately purchased an Epson LS11000. Very happy with the purchase, I have managed to snag it for 2760 EUR. I doubt I would've paid its full price as it was way out of my budget, but I found a good deal at a shop that was also happy to take it back if I had any issues with the DLP rainbow effect. Why did not I settle for HU710PW? Primarily because it's rather dim. It's probably more than enough for night time viewing or light controlled environments, but I was looking for a projector to place in a living room with ample light. LS11000 does no wonders here and is still pretty dim with direct sunlight hitting the room, but on cloudy days I can watch it just fine and things should get better as soon as I get some curtains in there. LS11000 draws up to 311 Watts whereas HU710PW caps out at 210 Watts. You cannot make a bright enough picture with less than 300 Watts.

GREBENOTSr/projectors · BenQ TK860i vs OptomA UHD55 vs BenQ HT260? →2023-12-08
I just upgraded from an Optoma UHD55 to a Epson LS11000, and let me tell you, the Optoma is a huge piece of shit. Picture sucks. Color really sucks, especially red. I can’t even fucking believe the difference. Also, the color wheel went out within a year of getting the Optoma.

I have LS11000 and I’m not seeing something like this at all!! Wonder if that was issue with early production units. I asked to keep my name on LS12000 list, so once I get it and compare myself, I will decide which worth more keeping for my use!

That is about the same black level performance I am experiencing with my ls11000.
