  I would agree w the ones suggesting Epson EF21 bcs it’s a good option for a mini portable projector. It’s got good picture quality (esp. from the price pov), the clarity and brightness of the image is pretty impressive, ngl. It’s also fairly easy to set up and use, esp. If you’re using it for movies. It’s not the best for gaming due to the lag that is pretty noticeable, and the sound quality isn’t the best bcs projectors like these don’t always have the best speakers. I’d say if you’re wanting to explore more reviews and good recommendations, check this site called reddit vetted which sums up a lot of reviews from reddit and makes it easier to go thru, and it's updated to recent stuff so yk it's not suggesting you old stuff.

  We just got ours and I was shocked how clear it was even in jut dimmed light. We got it with a huge discount from Epson as Epson Re Newed. IMHO totally worth the money.

  Dang, photos look fantastic. I assumed it was 4K until you posted it was 1080p, I'm still using an Epson Home Cinema 2040, which is an older 1080p, 3 LCD model, and it is pretty damn great. Eventually I will get a 4K projector but very happy with my Epson.

  This is the way to go. It even comes with two year warranty, if I am correct. It is a great projector if you are not a videophile and need something simple and reliable.

  I got Epson ef21 on amazon last month and I’ve been pretty satisfied with it. Got it at 48k. You can check my review on this sub. Also on amazon. Epson Ef21 is same as 22 but without the stand.

  I used one, it was my introduction to the idea of using a projector to replace my TV. I loved it. Had it hooked up to a n atoms sound bar that was 4x the price. Recently upgraded to a Dengbai mars pro I stole for $400 on Facebook. But I’m never going back.

  We have a whole system with a master series tv. Projector is for kid’s game room (so cartoons, videos of the nature and Switch games once he is old enough). I believe it will serve us long time since it’s laser based.

  I mean I dont want to risk warranty coverage if its grey import so whats the best alternative? Mars 3 is currently on sale for 1099 AUD in amazon but its black basically look gray in all reviews so I want something with decent contrast and black. Waiting for Hisense M2 pro to go on sale again, missed the 999 AUD sale, now its 1700 AUD. I am keeping Epson EF21 as my last backup option and waiting for it go on sale as well. I dont really need speakers as I have external Edifier D32 speaker.

  Correct, it’s got a single hdmi port so you can plug in a google streamer, firestick etc The epson hasn’t got 4K pixel shifting tech so any content would be downscaled I think to 1080p Hope that’s useful

  Compared to some others, reviews state it struggles in darker scenes appearing grey! Do I notice this? Nope, but someone paying thousands more, or making a more informed choice than I may just do. I mean I love the thing, think films look great on it
