r/tenwaysebike · The newer version of the 600 pro is a complete scam that nobody should buy. I don't know if it's that bad, I also think it's about preference. I do find the old PAS-settings too strong, they are not balanced but now it seems they gone too far to the other side. They should have made PAS1 50% lighter than the old PAS1, move the amount of assistance of the old PAS1 to PAS2 and leave PAS3 the way it was. That's what I would have done, seems more logical to me, or keep the three PAS-modes of the older model and just add two less strong PAS modes like the 800s which has five assist modes. Maybe you could swap the bike with the old version and if not make a deal with Tenways/your dealer, you send them the new display + controller and they send you the old ones. Implementing the controller is a bit of a hassle though (because of the cables).

r/ebikes · Loose Headset. Can't find Headset Screw // TENWAYS CGO800S Looking at the picture I’m thinking it’s accessed by removing the display. I did a quick search and found they had a video showing how to do that and it looks like the bolt is under the display (hard to tell for sure but I’m pretty sure I see it there). Depending on how much slack there is in the cables you might be able to leave them attached and just remove the screws holding the display and then remove it from the stem. https://youtu.be/8XHHCW_xUtU
r/ebikes · Loose Headset. Can't find Headset Screw // TENWAYS CGO800S You're not really taking the display apart, you're just removing it from the stem, it looks like it's a self contained unit. You'd just put it to the side, tighten up the headset, and put it back. If the headset really is loose it's worth fixing since it can become a safety issue.

r/tenwaysebike · CGO 800S not coming with Rear Lights Signal. Be mindful of it! this is lame for them to do, but these turn signals are also completely useless. no car, other bike, or pedestrian is going to read them as turn signals, they're just too close together. lumos and unit 1 both make lights that might work better. idk. people don't even pay attention to turn signals on cars so i'm really not sure this is a big benefit.

r/ebikes · Vanmoof, Cowboy or Tenways? Had the tenways cgo800s. While I think the price performance ratio is good, it doesn't really belong to the high end category and certainly doesn't deserve to be in the same list as R&M. Hub motor is nice and smooth, and the bike looks nice, but the parts are all quite basic and cheap. Most of their belt drive bikes are shipping with gates budget CDN belts, which despite claiming is good for 18,000km, most users experience much less. Mine snapped at 3,000km. Their own controllers also still have bugs, such as when the battery reaches cycle 71 and 67% battery charge it will shut down and won't turn back on. The workaround for this is to recharge it and use it in the 100%-67% range several times until it goes up to cycle 72, then it behaves like normal again. This is a well known bug that they haven't fixed and are still shipping bikes with. At the end of the day, if you want it for commuting then it's going to do a lot of mileage and it needs to be reliable. I replaced mine as my main commuter as I no longer had my trust in it as it has too many issues.
r/ebikes · Thoughts on Tenways CGO 800S and Its Maintenance Cycle? I've had one for a few weeks, but probably not long enough to give you maintenance advice. I haven't had problems with the panniers though, I bought some from my local bike shop and they go on no problem. Bike is otherwise super smooth and very nice to ride. The only thing I'd maybe look out for is a more generic frame, there are no braze ons and the bottom bracket isn't symmetrical, so you can't fit a centre stand, it's the tenways one or nothing basically. Maybe also ask the question over at r/tenwaysebike.

r/tenwaysebike · Thoughts on CGO 800S and Its Maintenance Cycle? Currently at 7000km. Belt drive is reliable. I only hear some weird noise in wet weather. Battery life is also good but I have two batteries, ao assume that each is 3500km. So that would be almost 2 years of a single battery use for you. The bike needs to be checked at least once for screws tighness. My front wheel's fast release system tends to loosen over time . I changed tires after 6000km but I drive it like a feather. Nothing to put strain on the tires. Not even hard braking. I consumed the back brakes almost completely. The front brakes are used much less. So, the price of maintenance was 150€ in 7000km. That would be every 4 years for you. But salesman will try to say otherwise, bring you in more soon. Your battery life will maybe be decreased by time. But 10km / day is nothing for thaf battery, it will never go so low. Panier bags are good. But be careful with bumbs. It happened to me once after a bumb, the plastic of the panier bag to get mangled to the wheel. Last, get extra protection for the back fender, it's not very good at keeoing muddy water off your back.

r/tenwaysebike · Thoughts on CGO 800S and Its Maintenance Cycle? I've driven mine almost every day for 3 years, rain, snow shine. At around 5000 km The belt drive is amazing, literally haven't touched it. Only maintenance I've done is new tires, and I do find the shocks don't seal well so two or three times a year I have to open them up to get the water out and clean them, although I think they have different ones on there now. The paniers from them are amazing, I'll get 50lbs of groceries in them every week Your commute is super short. Maybe even go with a lower end model if you like? I got the 800s since it has shocks, headlight/ taillight and belt drive as factors

r/ebikes · Loose Headset. Can't find Headset Screw // TENWAYS CGO800S Good find, thanks. I saw the screw too and thought no, that can’t be it, but after the video I’m curious. But I don’t think my friend will let me take her brand new display apart. :D
r/ebikes · Loose Headset. Can't find Headset Screw // TENWAYS CGO800S We know that, but my friend has no clue. It took 5 minutes to convince her that the stem had to be turned 180° because it wasn’t in the assembly instructions. And it took 24 hours to convince her that the headset was loose. Convincing her to remove the display will probably take even longer.

r/ebikes · Loose Headset. Can't find Headset Screw // TENWAYS CGO800S Yes, underneath the head tube. Good luck with this.
r/ebikes · Loose Headset. Can't find Headset Screw // TENWAYS CGO800S I looked for how to tighten that headset online, found nothing. You should have to disassemble the stem to adjust the headset bearing. Look underneath, just above the fender, for a tensioning bolt. If it's there, don't turn it until you loosen the two clamping bolts on the front of the stem.

r/tenwaysebike · Cgo 800s good choice? I have one and my wife has a gazelle. Both bikes cost us roughly the same. The 800S is very hassle-free as it has just a single gear and it's using a drive belt - you pedal the same way all the time plus there's no real maintenance required. So it's easier to just bike on. The pedals on the 800S also turn backwards, so you can always set them in a comfortable position. Riding is a lot more chill on the 800S in general and my wife actually prefers to grab the 800S for quick rides whenever possible, as it's just easier to use in general.

r/tenwaysebike · Cgo 800s good choice? It's a budget bike, you get the quality you pay for. We have one at home and it works fine. Sure, a Gazelle is a lot better in terms of engine and build quality but it was twice the price. Just make sure you buy from an actual store so they check the bike for you and can provide maintenance and warranty, if you buy from Tenways and something happens they ship parts and you have to find a local bike store to do the work. Most bike stores don't like working on a bike they didn't sell.

r/ebikes · Battery problem identification /repair (Tenways CGO800s) Thanks for the answer. Unrepairability of the battery really sucks. Plus if there is no primary fuse that would die before anything else - this would show that Tenways designed it this way - to break easly and profit from selling new batteries.

r/tenwaysebike · The newer version of the 600 pro is a complete scam that nobody should buy. Just bought an 800s. Considering returning it for exactly the same reason. Even on 5 assist it feels like it cuts out at 21kmh and starts to grind. You really have to put your foot down to get the assist. I'd expect assist level 1, 2 & 3 to require some leg effort, but not 5.

r/tenwaysebike · Tenways CG009 worst mistake ever (review) Yup. Had my 2025 CGO800s for 9 days before it broke. Infinite boot loop on the display. Been in the shop longer than I’ve had it. The brick and mortar I purchased it from have also been overwhelmingly unsupportive and incompetent. Tenways Support has been good, but unfortunately good support on a bad product is still a bad product. It seems these bikes are a bit crap unless you get lucky. For just shy of 2 grand these kinds of issues are quite unacceptable but if they don’t sort it out then I’ll just push for a refund (thank you EU consumer protection).

r/tenwaysebike · CGO 800S not coming with Rear Lights Signal. Be mindful of it! Got mine today and it’s the same as yours. My dealer said this is the new updated design and they removed the turn signals because no one really used it and since most traffic laws tell you to use your hand to signal, it’s safer to not have them.

r/ebikes · Thoughts on Tenways CGO 800S and Its Maintenance Cycle? Generally, all single-speed e-bikes are much easier to maintain because they have fewer moving parts. This means less frequent tuning and fewer components that are likely to break over time. What makes the Tenways e-bike stand out is its belt drive system. A belt drive is an excellent alternative to a traditional chain as it requires almost no maintenance. It doesn’t need oiling, doesn’t stretch significantly with use, and can last up to five times longer than a chain. However, the Tenways e-bike comes with a hub drive. While hub drives may appear simpler compared to mid-drive systems, servicing the rear wheel—such as changing tires or tubes—can be quite challenging. Without proper training, there’s a risk of damaging the motor or other components during the servicing process. Disclaimer: We are ebike enthusiasts trying to accelerate clean transportation with no brand affiliations. Our aim is to help fellow commuters save the planet while spending less. Hopefully, this clarifies for the benefit of those who may be wary of brand engagement.

r/tenwaysebike · Thoughts on CGO 800S and Its Maintenance Cycle? I have the same great maintenance & commuting experience with my 800S as the other commentators. I would only add that with the single speed its harder to do large hills with this heavier type bike with its smaller motor. Small hills are fine though and the comfort is prime. Personally I would never give up the extra comfort that the step-thru frame, shocks & larger tires give you on the 800S. I also installed a suspension seat post which I think is a must. With the rack I use 2 panniers with it it but have to use a bungie chord to keep them from flying off over bumps. As far as speed goes I cruise around 17 mph without much effort and around 18-19 when I have to. About as fast I ever want to go in a city commute. Enjoy your 800S I think you'll be very happy with it.

r/ebikes · Searching for a Tenways CGO800s steering damper solution. Jein.
