Similar size space and I went with the 100S model. When the air is bad (we get regional wildfire smoke) I can blast it on high and the air exchanges so quickly. At night I will leave it on lowest setting and its whisper quiet, even can blackout the lights on the panel with one button. \*I didn't bother with the app or connecting it to wifi.

r/HouseFresh · Any opinions on the new Philips Series 900 vs alternatives?

We have only tested the Philips 3000i and the 800 Series, and in both cases, we found the devices to offer good value and performance with average metrics in terms of noise generation and energy consumption. That said, I wouldn't say go with the Philips as we haven't tested the 900 Series yet, but it does look nice—especially in black. Going with the Core 300S means going with a device that has been around for many years and for which you will find a ton of generic replacement filters (if you want to lower those filter change costs further). In terms of energy efficiency, the Core 300S pulled 21.8 watts at top speed VS 20 watts pulled from the Philips 800, so the difference might not be as big as you might think. Three more alternatives in this size could be the [Levoit Vital 100S](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-WFe-mWEKM4) (which also has app connectivity and pelleted activated carbon), the [Winix Zero Compact](https://housefresh.com/winix-a231-review/) (which doesn't have an app but does have auto-mode and carbon), and the [Shark HP102](https://housefresh.com/shark-hp102-review/) (no smart features but does feature an auto mode, carbon and a very high-quality screen).

not the original commenter, but my air purifier is levoit vital 100s. it's a model specifically for households with dogs/cats. i've had it for quite some time na, but i don't regret it at all. helps manage strong scents too (like certain strong cleaners).

sure. i also suggest buying one lang muna if your space isn't that big and kaunti lang kayo sa bahay. my purifier lives in my bedroom, pero it's very light and easy to move sa living room or kitchen if it's needed there for a few hours. di rin naman 24/7 on yung purifier (at least in my case), so it's super easy lang for me to move it if needed

r/AirPurifiers · Quiet air purifiers for a light sleeper?

I have three Levoit Vital 100S units in my apartment. Before that, I used a Winix A330 and a Levoit Core 300. I’ve noticed that rectangular air purifiers are somewhat quieter than cylindrical ones. I also find the sound of the fan and airflow more pleasant and consistent. In particular, the Vital 100S operates at just 23.5 dB in Sleep Mode. The 200S reaches 24 dB, but it would be overkill for my rather small rooms.

r/AirPurifiers · Thinking about buying Levoit Vital 100S, some question

I actually bought my first air purifier online without knowing anything about them. Got one for my bedroom that sucked up every puff of cig smoke or marijuana smoke without letting it drift around in the air. It was a no name brand. You could find it under like 30 different brand names from different sellers. I've only bought the best and more pricey ones ever since and none have ever come close to how well that first one worked. The one I have now was supposed to be AMAZING. But I puff of marijuana and smoke just hovers around the friggen thing and then gets blown up and around with the supposed clean air going out. I have had 9 supposed "best of" or top 10 air purifiers in last 5 years and none could handle a bong hit let alone dust in this old house. It's really just buy and pray type thing

r/AirPurifiers · Thinking about buying Levoit Vital 100S, some question

I bought Vital 100S for 160€ and 2 days after Coway Airmega Mighty AP-1512HH is on sale for 168€. Now im frustrated and temped to buy it :D Mine had no smell, its plug and play. And it works decent. On setting 2 its great for sleeping and i left it run all night. Maybe its placebo but i slept really good. And also prefilter it already a little bit dusty. Its working but you always need to go above your budget for air purifiers. So you can set it to lowest fan and still have all the benefits. Just my 2 cents

r/AirPurifiers · Can someone help me decide between these two purifiers please?

I'd go with the Winix. If you have a Costco membership, they sell Winix (at least in North America). If you don't have a membership, now might be the time to join! The unit + replacement filters alone will save you more than the cost of membership. I have a Levoit Vital 100s in my bedroom (CADR is slightly better than the Core 200s) and it's OK for pet hair but not great.

r/AirPurifiers · Thinking about buying Levoit Vital 100S, some question

The problem is at 161 sqft, your room is not small. The vital 200s would be a better choice for that space. Please read the stickied thread in this sub about dust so that you go into this with the correct expectations. You also shouldn’t expect it to get rid of cooking odors. Even with a carbon insert, that’s not gonna work. It will help, but it will not get rid of them. You need ventilation for cooking odors. You can put a fan in the window pulling air out while you cook. It’s very effective and doesn’t change the temperature too much even during the winter.

r/HouseFresh · Any opinions on the new Philips Series 900 vs alternatives?

Thanks so much for this great reply. I ended up ordering the Core 300s which I got for £107. I was conflicted between that, the Vital 100s for £126, or the new Philips 900 for £127 (black friday prices) What swung it for me in the end was: \- The easy availability of replacement filters + potentially cheaper generic ones because it's been such a popular model \- The quality of the app which by many accounts is reliable and trouble-free to setup. Plus it seems to works well with multiple units if I were to get other ones in future. \- The cylindrical form factor which I think just looks better in a home than the Vital 100s, although I accept the Vital may perform slightly better & has the removable pre-filter for easier cleaning. \- Daftly, the white colour (Philips does look good but wouldn't work as well in my place). So it was a combo of cost, aesthetics and reliability. I do have in mind that Levoit will probably release a new Core soon that supersedes the 300s, and perhaps then I'll regret my choice, but I was eager to get an air purifier and this felt like a decent option for the money.

    r/AirPurifiers · Levoit Vital 100S-P vs Levoit Eleva 300X

The Eleva 300 (it's more like 10ish pounds, more powerful, detachable carbon filter, quieter  etc.)  Only reason to get the 100 would be if you need the flat style for space/room reasons.  Otherwise Eleva is slightly better in pretty much everything.

    r/AirPurifiers · levoit vital 100s pet mode

Just run it on high 24/7, that will likely be better than pet mode.  As pet mode is apparently just alternating between low and high, to save energy.  Levoits are already very energy efficient units, so it doesn't take much cost or energy to run one.  So just let it run on high most of the the time.  You can let it run for weeks and even months at a time.  I have two Levoit Core 300s running near continuously...for 5+6 years now... I turn one off occasionally at night when I sleep, to give the motor a break.  Maybe once a month, whenever I remember.  They are built to run continuously, so just leave it on high for best results.  (High is what all CADR ratings are based on, so running it on low gets you like 1/3 of its listed cleaning abilities and running it on pet mode will be on low probably around half the time...therefore you are actually losing effectiveness there.)   I don't think pet mode does anything really, just a marketing thing there.  (Maybe it creates a slight bit of air flow alternating, idk, but nothing a fan can't do.).  Levoits are great, just run it on high.   Occasionally turn off to gently vacuum the pre-filter (use weak hand-vac and be gentle as you don't want to disrupt the Hepa fibers which can lower efficiency.). Otherwise maybe turn off occasionally for a break.

r/AirPurifiers · Thinking about buying Levoit Vital 100S, some question

Thank you, I will try with a fan next to the windows too (I can't install a fan on the window). I hope the 100S will be good enough for pollen and other particles. *I'm not expecting a perfect super clean air with just this device btw, just an improvement.*

r/AirPurifiers · Thinking about buying Levoit Vital 100S, some question

The noise is not a big problem for me too, so even if the purifier will be quite loud at max speed but will do a great job with the smell and pollen I will accept the deal. I saw a bunch of video reviews and seems that the Vital 100S is better than the 300S, and the "best" seems to be the 200S, but in a small room the 100S should be enough (I guess). The air purifier mode of my air conditionair is not that bad but is extremely slow and doesn't have any charcoal filter inside, so to get rid of dust or odor it takes quite a lot of time and I don't think it is doing a really nice job. So what I was thinking is having a small one with some proper filtering system will be better than nothing.

r/AirPurifiers · Best Air Purifier Option for Someone with a small room who has bad allergies, sinus problems, and is exposed to tobacco smoke? Winix vs Levoit

Assuming similar build quality, higher CADRs are always better. Of the choices listed, I would tend to go with the [Winix A230](https://www.winixamerica.com/product/a230/). The A230 has PlasmaWave, an optional bipolar ionizer. Keep PlasmaWave off if birds are present as it could harm or kill them. (PlasmaWave defaults to being enabled after a power off/power on cycle.) If at all possible, I would choose a model with a separate permanent pre-filter like the Levoit Vital 100S-P or Levoit Vital 200S-P. Keep in mind the CADRs listed for purifiers apply to the highest airflow speed/setting only. Lower settings have lower CADRs which reduces cleaning effectiveness. Walmart has the [Vital 100S-P on sale for $109.99](https://www.walmart.com/ip/Levoit-Air-Purifier-Vital-100S-1110-sq-ft/1693395330).

Ahh that's super helpful thank you! One of levoit ones I was looking at said you couldn't wash it so I assumed it was the same for all! So that's great to know it's not the case. I didn't even think of asking an Ai thing that would be super helpful to see if it would be beficial in what room. Thank you!

    r/AirPurifiers · Should I not get a Levoit?

Levoit Vital 200s gets great reviews. I read a ton of this stuff and I don't see people reporting those units malfunctioning. Over the years, yes, I've seen reports of issues with a whining noise on some units (the 300 and 400) but that was years ago and Levoit addressed it and also offered replacements. They also have good service. I have a Core 300 that is still going from 2020. A Core 300s. And most recently a Vital 100s and Vital 200s. If sized right, these latter two are what you should look at - not the Core units. Those were good in their day, but the Vital units are superior. As for the Hepa question, yes the Vital units are, on sleep mode, and the "scandal" about all of that was drummed up by a competitor - who makes inferior units.
