    r/AirPurifiers · Thoughts on LEVOIT Core 600S?

Yes, but that's kind of the point. The expensive filter is handling all the fine particles and you want to last as long as possible. The cheap (or reusable) prefilter catches all the bigger stuff and gets changed more often.

Then I have no issues! My advice is to get something larger than you think you need that has a prefilter. Beyond that, they are just gussied up box fans with a slot for a filter. (I say that, but I adore my Alexa compatible, smart air purifier.)

r/AirPurifiers · Is there any point of getting an air purifier that's non-HEPA? (Specifically for wildfire smoke)

hepa is not really needed tbh. people build cr boxes with merv 13 or 14 filters. and there are pc based air filters like clean air kits or north box in Canada that use hvac filters with 120-140mm pc fans. And other ones like the air fanta 3 pro. They are all chart topping for cfm to noise and power. the air fanta 3 pro is very good for its size and cost and quite hard to beat. But if you like the look of the levoit core 600s it's a decent unit and they even have a separate filter designed for smoke and may be a slightly better job with it.

r/AirPurifiers · Prime Day - Coway AirMega vs Winix 5500 vs Levoit Vital 200s

None of those will work well in a space that large. The Vital 200s and Winix 5500-2 work best in about 360 square feet. (Probably a smaller space since most people won’t run it on the highest and loudest setting 24/7) I’d look into the Levoit Core 600s. The Smart Air Blast Mini could also work well but I know it’s a pricy device. Clean Air Kits Tower of Power is another option.

    r/AirPurifiers · Thoughts on LEVOIT Core 600S?

you tell me to keep arguing then mute me for 3 days lol, lets see if you are capable of genuine debate. [UncleGurm](https://www.reddit.com/user/UncleGurm/) cited an article in realsimple magazine to provide substantive evidence to his claim that you cannot vacuum the air filter of the 600s. The article itself relies on the words of John Bloemer, an engineering fellow at [Aprilaire](https://www.aprilaire.com/) who's been in the air quality industry for more than two decades. Aprilaire make their own air cleaning products so you may question his use and impartilaity as the this sole source used in the cited article. However it gets even more generic in use of unsubstantiated claims by going to quote “experts say HEPA filters should always be replaced rather than cleaned.”. Who are these are unnamed experts? I ask because the named expert was far from impartial. Even then the claim by UncleGurum that you cannot vacuum the 600s filter gets even more diluted because the article he cites simply says: “"You cannot clean a HEPA filter by using something like a vacuum because the particles are trapped not only on the surface of the filter but also deep inside the media," Bloemer says. Don't even think about running it under your sink, either—liquids like water and soap will destroy the filter media, he adds. “ But we are not talking about running it under a sink or using liquids. We are talking about a vacuum which the poorly written article doesn’t even claim destroys the hepa filter. It simply says it wont work because “because the particles are trapped not only on the surface of the filter but also deep inside the media” This is not what we were tolaking about with the 600s. We were talking about removing the dust covering the external prefilter. We are not trying to clean the heap filter. Nothing in that cited article says vacuuming the outside of the 600s where the prefilter is would destroy anything, indeed it states: The one exception to replacing a HEPA filter when it's dirty is if you have an air system that has a pre-filter in front of the HEPA filter. So rather than mute me again UncleGurum please use your time more productively by providing substantive evidence vacuuming the pre filter of the 600s will damage the heap filter beyond it. All I have asked is for some hard facts to backup your claims. I haven’t been rude at all. I am engaging in healthy debate which as a mod you should encourage. Calling me arrogant for asking questions does your credibility no good at all. You defended the need to provide substantive evidence of your claim by stating: asking for peer reviewed papers for a common sense item is ridiculous. Do you have “peer reviewed papers that show not to hit anyone in the head with a hammer”? It doesn’t matter because we all know not to. Or we SHOULD. Of course the evidence in that case would be someone dead in a pool of blood on the floor. So I ask where is the evidence vacuuming the outside of the 600s filter will harm the inside heap filter? Your claim is further diminished as you openly state: “To be clear, I am very much NOT a fan of Levoit.” [https://www.reddit.com/r/AirPurifiers/comments/1ae136v/levoit\_not\_recommended/](https://www.reddit.com/r/AirPurifiers/comments/1ae136v/levoit_not_recommended/) You have claimed multiple times vacuuming destroys heap filters [https://www.reddit.com/r/AirPurifiers/comments/189fd9n/what\_is\_the\_current\_concensus\_on\_levoit/](https://www.reddit.com/r/AirPurifiers/comments/189fd9n/what_is_the_current_concensus_on_levoit/) But while many online articles might state dangers to vacuuming when NOT using a brush attachment, where is the hard evidence outside of anecdotal? I can find none.

    r/AirPurifiers · Thoughts on LEVOIT Core 600S?

wow someone got triggered. the proliferation of bad information is exactly why the need to ask for peer reviewed research. your reply does not fill me with any confidence that you can tell bad info from good info if you think good info is just what gets widely repeated. I have two seperate particle meters which show me that my 600s is still filtering finest particles 0.03 microns very well.

r/AirPurifiers · Best air Purifier that’s not crazy expensive

Pretty much every brand is not HEPA in that regard, as it's a problem in the industry with most units seemingly meeting the threshold on low, but not on a higher setting for instance.  So multiple top brands have all been sued for the same technicality like Winix, Levoit, Alen etc etc. And Coway hasn't been sued yet but was found to have the same problem.  That's pretty much a majority of the top selling units all having the same issue, as it's more a technicality, not a problem for the user.  As in if it does 99.6% instead of 99.7% on high for instance you are still getting very clean air.  If it's off by a fraction...it is ultimately unimportant.  As we know Levoits clean the air very well based on recent testing.  All of the top 3 brands in recent testing...all have either been sued or been found to have the same issue.  So its ultimately not very important to the user, and more a marketing issue within the whole industry.  The only brand that might pass on all is Dyson, as their units are known for being quiet but slower.  So they don't even move the air fast enough to have that problem...so the Levoit actually cleaned more air per dollar spent...than the Dyson itself.  (If you have 99.6,% but at more power you will clean more air than 99.7% at lower power.).  The difference is like one dozen  particles out of 10,000.  You will still have very clean air with a Levoit, Winix, or Coway, often times...even more so than with something that officially meets the HEPA 13 standard.  So I wouldn't worry about that.  Levoits are excellent at cleaning the air of particles.  Here is recent testing proving it, and the guy even chose Levoit as the best performing units of its size, (with the top units being Winix, Levoit, Coway, and Dyson.)  So do not worry about the HEPA 13 thing, as when it's a good brand off by a fraction....it is still complete fine, and very well may be outperforming the slower H13 unit.  (The Remaining dozen or so particles will get picked up on the 2nd pass, so no big deal.  But good marketing attempts by Dyson to try to paint other brands as worse or inferior etc.)  https://youtu.be/sQGfO4hNb60?si=PBIDWaqVZUkP1uX7 I think at around the 20:54 mark he shows the results with the chart.   As to your Q I think you are saying you want to spend under 130 per unit ?  And you will need to spend a bit more than that but Levoits are a very affordable, but great value for that you get. So the Vital 200s is 160ish, so that will be good for a bedroom/normal sized room. Bur for a living room, and given all the pets, you will probably want the Core 600, which is a whopping 390CFM for 250ish.   Another budget friendly idea is CR Boxes/Corsi Rosenthal boxes ..which can get you 400 range CFM...for only 90ish bucks or so.  As it's a DIY purifier with a 30 dollar box fan...and a set of 4 merv 13 filters taped around it into a cube/square.  That gets you more CFM power than any purifier under 400ish bucks or so.  (Even more than some that are 1,000 dollars.)  So if budget an issue you could get a Vital 200s in living room + pair with a CR Box in living room which would get you a huge 650 CFM on high.  (Compared to 390 from the Core 600 itself.). But idk how big your space is so that would be needed to better judge what sizes you need.  But CR boxes at 400 CFM can cover pretty much any room very well.   So something like a Core 600 in living room (or CR Box) , a Vital 200 in bedroom, and a CR box in office, something like that would likely get you excellent coverage at a good price.  You don't really need one in a bathroom, and it's not a great place for them as you can't get them wet.  (But OK if you can keep it from getting wet, in which case a small 50 dollar one is OK, like a Levoit Mini, but again, I don't think needed imo, if you have proper coverage elsewhere.)

r/AirPurifiers · Air Purifier For Master Bedroom

You need a larger size unit than those, for excellent air quality.  For 10ish bucks more you can get tht Levoit Vital 200s.  I would suggest that as the minimum size for your space.  (Rated for 1,800 feet.)  Since allergies you will want excellent coverage...not just the minimum, which is what those smaller units would be.  Winix is a great brand, but same thing you would like need a size up and they sell units at same sizes + price points as Levoit so they also have a good unit rated for around 1,800 feet.  So your sg footage is about 252 with estimating the middle of 10-12 ft cielings (11ft i put).  For 4.8 air changes (good air quality) you need 221CFM.  For excellent (6ach) you need 277.  A Levoit Vital 200s does 250CFM and is rated for 1,800ish feet. Meaning it will change the air in a 252sq. Ft space about 6-7 times which is excellent ( while on high though.  On medium will be half that, and low mode about 1/3 or 1/4.). So the Vital 200sp or any Winix rated for around the same 1,800ish feet ..would be the minimum I would recommend, for the unit to give you excellent/newer excellent air quality when running on high.  Those smaller units would be struggling get you to "good", even on high.  And would be far below that not on high.   You may even want to consider even bigger such as a Levoit Core 600 which does 390CFM for around 250-280 dollars.  Or get one that size for your living room later.  (3,000 ft coverage.). But get units rated for at least 1,800 or so for that bedroom.  Winix or Levoit both great, but you need one size up for good to excellent coverage.

r/AirPurifiers · BlueAir VS Shark VS WInix VS Levoit

Get the Levoit Core 600, its on sale on amazon for 250 right now. It has 390 CFM power, the Core 300 only has 145. Meaning its more than twice as powerful. That would give you excellent air quality, with almost 8 air changes per hour (what I have, and I had to get excellent coverage as I had bad allergies as well, and an old smelly carpet etc.) 6 Air changes (ACH) is excellent, 4 or 4.8 is good. The Core 300 is a great unit although that is rated for 1,073 feet. Meaning it would give you about 2.5 air changes per hour in 400 sq. feet. Which is just a minimum of coverage, and not even "good". so for those with allergies and/or bad air conditions...you will likely want excellent. Which is more like 2,000 or 3,000 feet of coverage, so bigger units than what you are looking at. But you dont need an expensive woozoo fan imo. Just get a better purifier. You can get a 30 dollar box fan which will move more air than the woozoo. You can also even tape merv 13+ filters around a box fan...and create a DIY purifier that does 400range CFM power. Lastly, you can even put 1 merv 13 filter in front of/behind a powerful (but cheap) box fan...and get around 150 CFM, or about the same CFM power as the purifiers you are looking at. So get a Levoit Core 600 + a box fan if you want. (if you want ionizer you can also get a 600 plasma pro for 50 bucks more I think, but you dont need ionizer.) Main thing is Hepa with most CFM power, that is what will capture particulates. Ionizer is a nice to have, I use one on one of my 8 units, but not at all neccessity. (You could also add the core 300 with ionizer or other inoizing unit later. right now...id suggest the Core 600. (They also have some carbon pellets in filters, to help with smoke/odors, and the bigger unit will have more of that.) Although the best units for VOCS/odors are very expensive like 750 for Austin Air or 1,000 for IQ Air. Alen also decent but not nearly as good as Austin Air/IQ Air, but would be a litlte better for VOC's. But again...meain thing is CFM power for capturing particulates. For ktichen smells thats where the fan comes in + use hood range, + bathroom exhaust fan, open windows etc. to ventilate. A Levoit will help a little on that but ventilation key there. And the Levoit 600 will be excellent for your allergies and getting rid of particulates. The Core 300 and the other units you are looking at aren't large enough to get you excellent air quality. (just minimum coverage, which is often not enough for those of us with allergies.) Winix also has good units at the slightly higher price point that would provide the adeqaute size. I would avoid blue air as you cannot toggle the ionizer of on those. (in case you have issue with it, as some people get respiratory disrress, sortof how hiking at elevation makes some people want to cough...despite the air also being more clean. Everyone will have a different threshold on that, so best if you can toggle on/off esp for first time buyer imo.) Sharks are not as good as those other brands, and just OK. (The Levoit Core 300 beat the Shark in recent testing, depsite the Shark costing more, they have a sortof "never replace the filter" schtick (or whatever it is), but they dont clean the air as well as the better units like Winix, Levoit, and Coway.

r/AirPurifiers · Seeking advice on placement of Levoit Vital 200S-P placement in open-concept apartment living area

Maybe there is less air flow in that area ?   So try switch the levoit with a mila that you feel catches a lot, and see if difference.   Also take Molas are way more  expensive + powerful units, so it would be expected that a 400 dollar 447 CFM pulls in more than a 250 180 dollar unit, yes ?   Even the mila mini is stronger + 100 dollars more expensive at 290 CFM/280 dollars.  Blue Airs use ionization so that might help a smaller blue air trap visible hairs.   But Levoits are great units, and perform excellently in recent testing.  In terms of hairs idk, maybe there is something to that. But purifiers aren't really mens to be capturing hairs anyway so a much...as it's all the small things you can't even see.  And Levoits  perform very well there.  But like I said, perhaps you have less airflow in that corner of your living room or something ?  You'd prob want a stronger mila in that larger space anyway imo.    Lastly, I think the circular Levoits are stronger pound for pound,  thus the Core 300 outperforming the Levoit Vital 100 in recent testing despite costing 30 bucks less.  And outperforming lots of units similarly sized.  The Vital line does have the larger filter which is  astrong point, but I don't think rectangle leads to better performance per se.  (Again the Levoit 300 outperformed some pricier units on smoke too, maybe something to do with the circular design ? Idk)   For Levoits there is a Core 400 + Core 600 that are stronger than the Vital 200.  Those are great units too though, with maybe the slightly bigger filters.   Anyway, I suggest moving some units around and see how it goes....great job on your overall coverage too.

r/AirPurifiers · Need suggestions for a air purifier

If it was me, I think id put something like a RIA Breezeguard, which is my favorite unit. Or perhaps one of the bigger Levoit units. Corsi Rosenthal boxes as I mentioned are also an excellent way to get max CFM power...for little cost..especially if you would be involving smoke as then...there isn't any expensive circuitry to worry about. You can just easily replace a 30 dollar box fan. I also really like my Alen 45i, however its good for odor/smoke + moves the air more slowly than other purifiers. As the slower speed...helps give more time for the carbon to absorb odors. (The Austin Airs are even closer, but better at that with even bigger/better carbon filters.) So as you still need a lot of CFM for your main unit..something like a big Levoit would be a fine choice, as they are powerful, and have some carbon in thier filters too. Winnix is another good brand, and they have ionization I believe. Thats a reason I like the RIA as it has ionization, lots of carbon in filter, smart controls and even a remote control...(important for me as I have mobility issues.) So for Winnix I think they might have the ionization be toggleable on/off...as thats a must if you havent used it before, just to be careful if it bothers your respiratory tract for some reason. But in general ionization is good, as it helps clean the air, and only creates a small amount of ozone. So a small amount shouldn't be a problem for most people, and is a healthy/safe amount. But Hepa CFM power is the #1 thing that will actually trap the particulates. (Ionization helps particles bind together, so they then fall to the floor. This means that the air you breathe is cleaner. Such as sortof how the air is fresh and clean after a rain storm.) But if you aren't sure about ionization Levoits are great and I have 2 Levoit Core 300's running near continuously...for 5+6 years now. (The Core 300 is a medium sized unit and only 90 dollars, so out performs 200 dollar units, and excellent value, also great for a bedroom for instance to add more coverage.) As for good coverage you want more than the minimum, esp with allergies. Most CADR ratings I think are based on 1 air change per hour. But its best to have 4x air changes per hour (every 15 mins.) This way...you are never breathing "stale" dirty air. So corsi rosenthals in various rooms can help, and affordable Levoit units...an adding coverage. But a Levoit Core 600...should be like the 300s...just bigger + better, and with more features. 299 with 391 CFM, while thier best is the Everest Air which has 354 CFM but is 499...as it also has a lot of smart features, voice control, and air quality monitor with 3 level of PM stuff. So given 500 budget I would consider the Everest Air. But if you are getting a ventilator too, then maybe the Core 600 which is slightly more CFM power...but without the air quality monitor, and lack of voice commands. (and 200 cheaper) Ria Breezeguard is I think between those in price at 390 range. And if you find a Winnix at a sweet spot thats a good idea too. So depends what features are important to you...and what you might be pairing it with. and again...every CR Box is like 400 CFM so more powerful on high than any 200,300, even 500 dollar air purifer in many cases. So some combination...will probably get you the desired solution.

r/AirPurifiers · Did levoit fix their vital filters? Any recomendations for a serious air filter-purifier?

Levoits are great.  They are hepa 13 filters, and HEPA 13 on low/sleep mode, like most of the best units. It performs in the top 3 in recent testing with Winix + Coway.  (Beating Coway in some metrics and the guy picked the Levoit as the best of its size.). Point is all 3 of the best performing purifiers on the test are not "true Hepa" due to the same technicality.  Winix has also been sued, and Coway has the same problem and is trying to change its marketing before it gets sued as well.  So many units that move a lot of air...might dip down to Hepa 12, by a fraction on settings 2 or 3.   But it's not a big deal for the consumer as Hepa 12 is still really good, at 99.5%.  The difference between 99.7 and 99.5 is a few dozen particles out of 10,000.  Its more a marketing thing, that effects the whole industry,  not just Levoit. You will still have really clean air with a Levoit.  As it's one of the best in the market for cleaning the air.  One of the only units that doesn't have that problem is Dyson, as their units are like 1,000 dollars but go so slow that they don't even move much air.  So their units don't even go fast enough to have that problem.  But you ultimately get cleaner air with the unit at 99.5 or 99.6 with more power...than a slower unit at 99.7.   With that said, as someone else suggesting, masking with an N95 mask for all parties will make much more of a difference.  As I dont think you need to spend a lot on a medical grade/HEPA 13 filter or HEPA 14, if people are not wearing masks as they would be breathing in virus particles anyway.  So what I do is I always wear an N95 mask, and have a bunch of air purifiers as well.  (I even have a helmet thing called an Air Climate 3, such as holidays if someone shows up sick which happened to me last Christmas...so I was prepared.) But you don't need a whole helmet thing.  Just a properly sealed N95 + Levoit or any well performing air purifiers will be a good amount of protection.  ( As well as opening windows for ventilation, ventilation also very important.  Running bathroom exhaust fan can help with that, as that expels "old" air  and fans and box fans near a window cha help bring in new air, as well as move the air along on various places.). Air purifiers have smallish fans inside so that will help with that, but a simple box fan and N95 masking + ventilation...will do most of the work probably. And multiple purifiers to get any residual.   (It's best to have 1 unit in each room, when you have enough coverage for the whole space...then you would need her to carry around a unit.  The whole space will be covered.  I have 8x units in a large bedroom apartment for instance for 8ach, extreme coverage.  A small unit near them is a good idea too, but portable units aren't very powerful.  So better to have bigger statuonary units in each room.  Giving you full coverage all the time.  So Winix, Levoit, Coway all good.   All of them are not h13 on high.  But that's not a big deal.  As they will still capture virus particles and still get 99%+ of particles overall likely.  Wearing an N95 mask + ventilation will take care of anything missed.   For big units a Levoit Core 300 is a good value for main room, and then put something like the Vital 200 in her bedroom.  (And a small unit in each bedroom/room best.).  You want 4.8 air changes per hour for good air quality and 6+ for excellent.  So you will want excellent for virus control.  So if a unit says it covers 3,000 feet, like the Core 600, that means it will give you 6 air changes (excellent 6ach) in a space of 500 sq feet. (The size of many living rooms.). The Levoit Vital 200s, is 1,800 so likewise will give 6x in a space of 300 sq feet, which is great for a bedroom size.  Or any same sized Winix or Coway.  All are good.   Most important is N95 masks, properly sealed.  (Like a 3M Aura, that fits really well around the nose.). That is like a filter...for your face.  And then purifiers in each room, but you will need more than 1 for proper coverage.  And probably 2-3.  (As well as ventilation + masking when a person comes imo.)  So if you get enough purifier coverage you might not need to wear masks at home all the time, only when person comes and open windows.  What size is your space ?  What is your budget ?

r/BuyItForLife · Best air purifier right now for smoke?

The Levoit Core 600S is solid for that price range - I've been running one for about 8 months after dealing with wildfire smoke last summer and it definitely pulls its weight. The carbon filter replacement costs add up though, especially if your dealing with heavy smoke regularly, so factor that into the long-term budget

r/BuyItForLife · Best air purifier right now for smoke?

There is more to smoke than just a filter, with it comes gases/voc's/odors. Having a purifier with carbon would help beyond the standard filtration I think the top rated purifier for smoke is probably something like the IQAir offerings, however they are well above the budget you listed. The Alen 45i is probably right behind it, and you may be able to find one used or on sale at the top end of your budget. Within the range you posted, I would look at the Levoit Core 600S. It is consistently one of the top rated in its price range, for air changes/CFM, and it also boasts nearly a pound of Carbon for odor and VOC removal. Not this will not be as effective as a purifier meant for VOC's, but those are very expensive

r/BuyItForLife · Best air purifier right now for smoke?

Yes and no, I think this is highly variable. We are in Colorado and have our fair share of wildfires. We noticed when the smoke smell is light, the purifier handles it. Some years back we had a fire much much closer, and it had a hard time keeping up. The smell was removed after a while, but definitely not in a time frame I was happy with. For that, I understand only some extreme purifiers like IQAir Austin could handle it. But.....they're also very expensive

    r/AirPurifiers · Thoughts on LEVOIT Core 600S?

https://www.realsimple.com/home-organizing/cleaning/hepa-air-filter-cleaning The answer, no matter how much you don’t like it, is DO NOT CLEAN YOUR HEPA FILTER. There is page after page of articles like this one. Asking for peer reviewed papers for a common sense item is ridiculous. Do you have “peer reviewed papers that show not to hit anyone in the head with a hammer”? It doesn’t matter because we all know not to. Or we SHOULD.

    r/AirPurifiers · Thoughts on LEVOIT Core 600S?

Since always. HEPA and similar filtration relies on the fact that the microscopic fibers are all aligned in a random pattern but generally facing a single way. Why do you think they all have an arrow for airflow? Running air through them backwards not only doesn’t filter, it ruins filter efficiency by misaligning the fibers. This is why we recommend putting extra filters in FRONT of the HEPA filter. So that you never have to try to clean the filter. Once it’s dirty is must be thrown out.

    r/AirPurifiers · Thoughts on LEVOIT Core 600S?

Sigh. Let me be clear - while it may not be “common sense”, an expert opinion should suffice. Not everything can be double blind studied and have scholarly papers written. Average folks may not know the torque spec for their car’s lug nuts. But “don’t overtighten your lug nuts or you might snap a bolt” should suffice - engineering studies are not required. Perhaps “common sense” isn’t the right term, but demanding double blind scholarly research for an item where “the guy who makes it says don’t do that” should suffice is an asinine position. Call that whatever you like.

    r/AirPurifiers · Thoughts on LEVOIT Core 600S?

You are absolutely cleaning the hepa filter if you vacuum the pre-filter while it is attached. You’re pretty arrogant, and aren’t going to score any points here. There is not a single resource online saying to vacuum your HEPa filter. But that’s ok, because your Levoit core doesn’t actually HAVE a hepa filter. Shrug. You do you. If peer review is needed for you to accept expert advice (I linked articles that quote the engineers that make HEPA filters, I trust them more than I trust your advice) then I don’t know how to help you. Do you harass the plumber? “Your wax ring on the toilet is leaking, I recommend the $15 one instead of the cheap $5 one” “do you have any peer reviewed studies for that?” Tell you what. Keep arguing. Let’s see how that goes.

r/AirPurifiers · Best air Purifier that’s not crazy expensive

This opinion might be unpopular but I have both the levoit 600 and the Coway air mega and they both kind of suck. I had LA air, mildew, and a pet with the Coway and it didn’t do much but was better than 2 crappy little Blueairs. I moved to San Diego and same issues except very little mildew and the only air quality issue is pollen (where I live). My local restaurant employees smoke cigarettes in the alley between my house and the restaurant. My neighbors vape what I suspect is meth. I got the levoit and the expensive smoke filter; added the smoke filter… nothing. I just ordered an Austin Air so hopefully all that carbon helps. My last roommate had an IQ air and it didn’t help with smoke so hopefully the carbon in the Austin Air will.

r/AirPurifiers · Which air purifier to choose

I take it that you're somewhere in the EU - why not consider the Levoits? For your budget it'd be enough to buy 3 Vital 200s or 2 600s, depending on your apartment's layout. Having several mid-size units is generally considered to be more effective than one large unit, when dealing with larger spaces and especially with different rooms.

r/AirPurifiers · Choose between airmega 450 and Philips 4200 for odours

Thank you for your response! Unfortunately the offers here are extremely limited. Just one of the listed products are available here and just two of the brands mentioned. I could get a Levoit core 600s but it makes me confused since the CADR is so low compared to the two I’ve mentioned? Winix sells one product here, Winix Zero. Coway offer 8 products on the Swedish market and Philips offers 10 I believe….

r/AirPurifiers · Best Value Air Purifier? (Coway, Winix, Blueair, Shark, Sans, etc)

I use a levoit core 600s in my apartment (900sqft). It works decent on auto mode, really picks up when I’m cooking or vacuuming and displays the current air quality which is quite accurate compared to my dedicated air quality meter. Definitely enough for my apartment as long as doors are open. Not sure how it compares to some other brands but it works great for my apartment and it wasn’t bad price I got it “used like new” on Amazon maybe $180? Replacement filters are sffordable from 3rd party sellers.

    r/AirPurifiers · Should I not get a Levoit?

The displayed PM2.5 value on our 3 Core 600S is completely off by around +20ųg/m3 so need to ignore that and use a third party air quality meter. We have a Core 300s as well for the office which displays correct values, not sure what that's about. Other than that, they are fantastic at cleaning the air! We went for the bigger 600S for our 35m2 bedroom because it allows to have it on lower fan speeds at night for similar CADR as the smaller models at max speed which is too loud for sleeping. We live in a dusty climate and keep the device at speed 1-2 at night and the rooms PM2.5 and PM1.0 are consistently at 2-3ųg/m3 now. Best bang for your buck for sure. Coway Airmega 400 has the same CADR and costs 2x as much for example.

r/AirPurifiers · Stop buying True HEPA / HEPA H13 air purifiers

idk if it has the same filter, do ur research and check reviews on levoit if their cadr matches the claims but if its good value per cadr and silent enough on low speed/sleep mode go for it

r/AirPurifiers · Stop buying True HEPA / HEPA H13 air purifiers

As I've written in my post all of them remove that type of particles. Philips uses E12 filters. I've written in my post what's the difference between E12 and H13 in recirculating air purifiers. I recommend u to actually read the post since it seems it has info u would be interested in. You are also comparing 2 vastly different products, one is a cheap 300 CADR the other way more expensive 700 CADR. Levoit claimed they have H13 True HEPA and they were sued by Dyson because they were making fake claims. They don't use H13. So it's E12 or lower. A Philips equivalent to the Levoit would be Pureprotect 4200 pro (600 cadr) or pureprotect 3200 (520 cadr). I have both of these philips purifiers and they are good. I think they are the most silent high powered air purifiers on the market rn.

    r/HouseFresh · Membrane Solutions MS601 any good?

The core 600s has dust cadr of 373 cfm and this is from an Aham CADR report. So just wouldn’t risk with a non third party test if you know that this cadr is what you need.

    r/HouseFresh · Membrane Solutions MS601 any good?

Not tested but without an Aham cadr test which there doesn’t seem to be any for that brand we would just have to take their word about performance. The lower risk would be the Levoit as they have Aham cadr reports and we have also independently confirmed they match up to real world performance. I’d go for the 600s for your space.

    r/AirPurifiers · Thoughts on LEVOIT Core 600S?

Not directly related, but may useful if you prefer your purchases to last. I've repaired a number of Levoit Core 300 air purifiers due to a silly fault: blown thermal fuse - buried within the fans motor. Symptoms: turns on, but fan does not spin. Some were a real pain to access. Haven't personally worked on a Core 600S, nor have I sought them out, but they're likely built the same. I've currently got x3 Levoit Core 300 units scattered about the house, just doing their thing. All units I've repaired. Showed no indication as to why their fuses went; extremely clean, bearings in perfect condition, power draw post-repair was within specifications - otherwise internals seemed great. All failed units were between 4-6 years of age. After doing some research, other repair techs noted other failed devices utilizing thermal fuses. Their theory was that as the fuses age, they degrade - 'crystallize' IIRC. I'm inclined to support this theory, since the units I've repaired have been in otherwise immaculate, perfectly functional order - *aside from the blown thermal fuses...* Afraid I can't speak on the build choices of other manufacturers, but that's my limited assessment of Levoit units. Just a tangent, but after contacting Levoit support to express my concerns - I can confidently state they do not support right to repair. Actively deterred me from doing so, refused to address my reason for contacting them in the first place, and for fun - refused to provide any helpful documentation/information. But ayy, what company *doesn't* behave like this nowadays? ***Actually, [Peak](https://www.peakelec.co.uk/) doesn't. Will provide helpful documentation upon request - and may even assist you with custom modifications beyond the scope of their products.*** *Unfortunately, they do not make air purifiers.*

r/AirQuality · RECOMMENDATION FOR MOST POWERFUL/ EFFECTIVE HOME AIR PURIFIER FOR DUST MITES, DANDER AND OTHER ALLERGENS?

I've been dealing with dust mite and pet dander allergies for years, and I've tried a bunch of different air purifiers. After a lot of trial and error, I can confidently recommend this Levoit Core 600S as the most effective and powerful home air purifier for allergens like dust mites and pet dander. This uses a 3-stage True HEPA filtration system that captures 99.97% of airborne particles as small as 0.3 microns, including dust mite allergens, pet dander, pollen, and smoke. It also has an activated carbon filter that traps odors and VOCs. What I love most about this purifier is how quickly it cleans the air. In my 500 sq ft apartment, it can filter the entire volume 5 times per hour on its highest setting.

    r/AirPurifiers · Recommendations welcome

Hi there! I totally understand your concern, especially with a severe dust allergy and pets at home. I’ve been in a similar situation, so I know how crucial it is to find a purifier that genuinely works 100%. The *Levoit Core 600S* is a good option overall, but as you mentioned, its HEPA filter might vary in efficiency at higher speeds, which could be a drawback if you need it to operate at peak efficiency constantly—especially in a larger space with high ceilings like yours. I’ve also heard positive reviews about the Jaspr, particularly for allergies, though it can be a bit pricey. If you want to make sure you're making an informed decision, [airesaludable360.com](http://airesaludable360.com) has detailed recommendations on purifiers that work well both for dust and homes with multiple pets. They offer helpful insights on finding one that meets your needs without going over budget. I hope you find the perfect purifier and that it helps bring relief from your allergy symptoms!
