Put a toothpick halfway into the drain hole and watch the water gush out.** **Ecoflow made the worst drain possible with the Wave series and even using gravity while on level surface it won't drip out, but if you break the surface tension of the water (with a toothpick or similar object) it will.** It will solve your problem. Its not elegant and Ecoflow should still be called out for stupid drain design. But you can at least use your Wave.
r/Ecoflow_community · Echo wave 3 constant water issues You basically drain the tray if you do that toothpick trick. You can either do it manually every maybe 4-6 hours of use, or just have a permanent solution that has a similar device that breaks the surface tension and directs the water to a bucket or on the ground. I personally have a DIY permanent solution using a zip tie attached to a funnel. The zip tie is the toothpick in this scenario, and brings the water to a funnel to a rubber hose to either a water container or the outside of my van. Or if its possible manually move the device to a place where you can drain water and tilt to drain every time you need to. Every AC has a drain (sometimes covered by a cap in low humidity areas) that by gravity drips out the water. The Wave being just another AC in fancy packaging is capable of doing the same thing except Ecoflow just designed it poorly that you need to break the surface tension of the water to drain on a level surface. All AC work this way. The house AC you use doesn't need tilting. It drains by itself. It dries by itself. Ecoflow just decided to "fix" what isn't broken when it terms of drain design.

r/Ecoflow_community · Planning on getting EcoFlow Wave 3 to replace a portable AC in my apartment, is it worth it? Absolutely not (IMO) it's expensive and low powered. I have the Wave 2 and it's not as good but at least gives me similar real life experiences. It's design hinges on maximum portability and independent power, both of those not important for an apartment. So you pay a ton extra for those features while still falling short on what matters (performance and reliability) Get a portable AC heat pump unit with dual hoses or a window unit if your allowed to use one. Midea makes really solid inverter units that are very quiet and energy efficient.

This product seems to fit what Im looking for, but the amount of negative posts/comments arent reassuring I'm going to offer a slightly different perspective than the one other comment (so far). When I bought my first ecoflow products, this subreddit was mostly positive. I think their new products are having issues/quality is going down/support....well that one I don't know. It seems like support always kinda sucked. With an asterisk. I bought two wave 3's. One broke on its first use. Support was slow and tedious, but they did ultimately replace it outright. So it was worrisome getting there but in the end they did make it right. That seems like a common story with ecoflow. Then there seem to be some more rare outliers that struggle to even get that. Do with that info what you will. Now that I have two functional ones, I like them a lot. They do what they're supposed to do. They're portable, they cool well (on normal and max). I feel like they've elevated my camping experience quite a bit. I am concerned that a lot of the posts have very similar failures related to the 110v input port with the wave 3. It's how one of mine died almost out of the box. But its replacement and the other one are going strong so far. It's also concerning (annoying) that you can't seem to buy/replace some of the accessories that come with them that are necessary for use. Such as the duct adapters. Good luck if you break one. Then it seems as if once they launch a new version of a product, all support for the prior version immediately stops. But I have seen posts where dead units still within warranty get replaced with the newer version. And finally, where I just agree with the other poster, I do think they just missed the mark a bit. Now that I have them I think I would have been happier with the wave 2. I think I would have traded fewer btu's of cooling power for the lower power draw of the wave 2.

r/Ecoflow_community · Brand new Wave 3 - horrendous sound from water drain pump Mine is being sent back (again) for the same reason. Support agreed with me that the pump is shot. Mine is making this noise even if it is actually pumping water, as in, not dry. But also, for the sake of having it for a trip, you could replace it after the trip maybe. I doubt you could get yours sent off and a replacement back in your hands by next weekend.

r/Ecoflow_community · Wave 3 Warranty Replacement Update The support process has gone much faster this time. Maybe they are seeing the community input and making some improvements. I also took some steps to help it go faster. My initial email included a video of the problem because I knew they'd ask, the S/N and a description of the problem. That probably helped some of the back and forth, but they're also just replying faster in general. I received an auto confirmation email and a "that seems wrong, we're contacting the engineers" email in the same day. The next day I had a "k yea that's broken, confirm your shipping address for a replacement". Best I can recall it took me a couple weeks to get that far last time. I am a tiny bit annoyed that this time I won't get a new in box replacement, but a certified refurbished. But I also just want one that works and stops breaking, so whatever. Maybe a refurbished unit has already had its weak points addressed/replaced. Assuming no hiccups, this is at least a 9/10 support process this time. Last time I would have rated it at like a 2.
r/Ecoflow_community · Wave 3 Rattling noise This is how I use mine. I'd struggle to sleep with it in the tent with me. Outside of the tent I barely notice it exists though. I'd recommend ducting it in rather than out. It makes some weird and obnoxious noises that I wouldn't really call "loud", they're just attention grabbing. Not a smooth background noise. But they are quiet enough that it doesn't take much space or material between you and it to make it very tolerable.

I notice often switching mods (eco/normal/max) its like it gets confused and doesn't really switch modes. I have to put mine on the mode I want and power cycle it sometimes just to get it to behave. I'm not mentioning that just to bitch about mine, but maybe try it. Did you switch it to max while on when that happened? I've been debating submitting it for another exchange if I notice that behavior on my next trip out (just to confirm it 100%)
r/Ecoflow_community · Ecoflow wave 3, good bad? Need reviews It's only "worth it" if you specifically needs its portability, and a stretch at that. I use it for roof top tent camping in Texas. It's just too damn hot here for too long of the year so I was willing to spend the money and try it. Assuming you get a unit that works, and assuming that unit lasts a while, it does do its job. It's not what I'd consider quiet, I wouldn't want it in the tent with me but if its outside with ducts running in I don't notice it much. It can bring our tents down to the low 70s on a mid 90s day. Eco mode (and its advertised run time) is useless imo. You need other power options, generator, more batteries, something to get a night of sleep out of it. The app is clunky (for all their devices) and buggy, but it functions. There aren't too many similar products out there and I've only had the wave 3 so I can't compare it to anything unfortunately. But after having one replaced after less than a month, which was a slow tedious process, the two we have seem to be running well and doing what we wanted them to do. And if they keep doing that, extending our camping season through the hot season keeping everyone more comfortable, I'll think it was worth every dollar.

r/Ecoflow_community · Wave 3 are totally unreliable, 2 units have died in under a year My Wave 2 was a dud and Ecoflow replaced it and battery with a Wave 3 and battery and I'm super grateful for it. The Wave 3 was barely just released at the time and my Wave 2 was from their eBay return store. So IMO, they went above and beyond. That said, I use it in a pretty unconventional way: to keep a large grow tent I have (2) resin 3D printers in at a stable temp during Midwest, US summers. The grow tent is in an unattached, uninsulated garage, so it's a challenge outside of ear spring and fall to actually print things. Wave 3 has been doing a solid job for me. It runs for around 6 hours a day with the evenings and early mornings not needing cooling. I've been using it since it launched with no major issues outside of MPPT error when I have too much solar trying to go into the battery. All that said, I'm not really convinced that it the usage it's actually designed for (cars and camping) that it's a very good product. I mean, if you're in a shady area, maybe? Bit overall the cooling and especially heating seem very underpowered.

r/Ecoflow_community · Wave 3 and Delta 2 Max I use 2 XT150 cables with the Wave 3 + W3 battery and D2M: * One XT150 from D2M to Wave 3 * One XT150 from D2M to Wave 3 battery (detected as extra battery) This works okay, and is the most efficient way to run them together (before I had battery connected to Wave 3 and AC from D2M to Wave 3 to charge it), but I agree with wishing the Wave 3 had a second XT150 port. I tried using the 12V to solar port, but at 100W limit, it charged way too slow.

Humidity makes these units work harder. In no way would this ever be powerful enough for your house, so you can't expect it to work. Ecoflow is junk but these do mostly work in small spaces. r/Ecoflow_community · WAVE 3 Leaking Near AC Input + Stuck Exhaust Tube I’ve had no leaks on mine but the exhaust hose can be very stiff to remove. Have a look and you’ll see 3 clips that hold the pipe in place when it’s twisted in (under the top hood part). Find something that can lever at least two of these clips up a little and the pipe should then twist off easier. PS the water level sensor is at the back of the unit so make sure it sits level or very slightly lower at the back.

With adapters, which I see a lot on Etsy, the Wave 3 can be attached to ducts of arbitrary length. However, the ducts that come with it are about 1.2 meters long. In general, you should aim for a short distance with portable air conditioners, because the ducts radiate heat, reducing efficiency. 2. You can buy 2.5 meter ducts from EcoFlow. 3. I think the Wave 3 is pretty loud at Max, but I haven’t had an air conditioner in this place before. (Global warming…) When it’s manufactured properly, it doesn’t produce any harsh noises, but the fan and compressor both make noticeable humming sounds. The fan’s woosh sound is especially loud on Max. 4. The inlets in front and back are both covered in filters that should be taken off and cleaned regularly. How regularly depends on how much you use the machine and how dirty your air is. The filters aren’t difficult for me to take off and put back on. 5. I’m not sure it’s overall worth it for an apartment or room. I got it for camping, so portability and use with a battery were the most important factors. For stationary use, the Wave 3 has several annoyances: * Small condensation tray, needs drain line to be run somewhere to operate continuously. * The duct adapter covers don’t have any seal, so they leak air, reducing efficiency. * Ambient temperature sensor inside the machine, doesn’t measure room temperature accurately. * Not especially effective variable speed control. It’s a struggle to find the optimal settings given each outside temperature to reach a target temperature without unnecessarily loud noise and short cycling. So many times I hear it quit running the compressor before it reaches the target temperature when in modes other than Max. * No official API to allow Home Assistant or something to control the air conditioner with external thermometers. * 2.4 GHz-only WiFi, and I’m having trouble connecting it to some of my access points. In my country, I can find dual-hose portable air conditioners about twice as powerful for about half as much money as the Wave 3. But they aren’t compact, not efficient on battery.
r/Ecoflow_community · Is Wave 3 supposed to be this loud? No, I haven’t heard the Wave 2. The microphone setting on this video is pretty low. It doesn’t sound that loud when played back. However, if I increase the volume, then I hear a sharpness in the sound, that on my Wave 3 was intermittent and especially loud. I sent that Wave 3 back to EcoFlow for a replacement. The one I have now is much quieter, with a softer noise profile.

r/Ecoflow_community · Echo wave 3 constant water issues No, mine doesn’t leak like a sieve. The WAVE 3 is a pretty small portable air conditioner. It doesn’t have a water tank. It’s more of a water tray. I keep mine on a level surface (a table). It doesn’t leak. It does drip slowly, though. I think condensation is forming on the bottom of the machine, somewhere. It hasn’t been enough of a problem for me to hunt down exactly where this water is coming from.

r/Ecoflow_community · Anyone used the Wave 3 in a insulated shed or small room? Hey man, I’m an engineer that works with electrical systems a lot. The guy that said space heaters are 100% efficient is actually correct, but I want to clarify. They are efficient in that almost 100% of the energy they consume is converted to heat. However, anytime you directly convert electrical energy into heat (resistive heading elements) it takes a significant amount of energy, which is why it runs the power bill up so much. Heat pumps are more energy efficient because they transfer heat versus generating heat. In your situation, I would not buy the EcoFlow unless you want the portability. I have one and it is great, trust me. I use it for my sailboat and in emergency outages. In your situation, it might actually be cheaper to get a small mini split. The EcoFlow will work, don’t get me wrong. I bought mine refurbished from EcoFlow on eBay for $400. The biggest issue for you is going to be having to constantly drain it or set up something for it to continually drain into. It also does not heat below temperatures less than around 32°F. Another more affordable option would be a window unit with a heat option. I personally would not buy the wave unless you want it for portability.

r/Ecoflow_community · Brand new Wave 3 - horrendous sound from water drain pump You’re a lifesaver dude. I ran a bunch of water through the sump like you suggested, and while I don’t see any visible debris come out, the pump has now completely shut up and I (hopefully) am avoiding an RMA. For anyone coming across this suffering from the same issue - I put the unit in a bathtub and used a measuring cup with a spout to pour as precisely as possible. I removed the exterior grills from the front and rear. These are the large grills on the front and rear of the unit, NOT the ones on the top. This allows you to pour water directly into the “pan” (aka sump) at the bottom of the unit. It took a LOT of water, like over 10 pours of a 32oz measuring cup, I assume because a lot of water missed the target and went under the unit. Finally, the overflow alarm triggered, and I was delighted as it silently pumped the water out. It’s now running at max in the room next to me as I’m just listening to confirm it doesn’t screech again. Thanks again!

Ecoflow support team is usually really quick and helpful at getting back to you so you should have an answer soon. That leak being right by the power input is sketchy. The exhaust can get crazy tight sometimes, but I wouldn’t force it, let them deal with both issues under warranty.

r/Ecoflow_community · Question. Is Wave 2 better than Wave 3 or something?? This product seems to fit what Im looking for, but the amount of negative posts/comments arent reassuring 1. It’s just human nature that pissed off people post more than pleased people. 2. Wave 3 is fine, so is the 2. I have both. For a small van a 2 with an insulated hose is probably plenty. 3. People hate the wave because of the price and the higher wattage in the same footprint. Ecoflow just missed the mark; either make it cheaper, make it smaller, or make it more efficient. It did none of those things. Now, the drainage system is way better and it has some nice extra features and for my needs in the back of a small trailer hooked up to a pro 3 I love having the extra output. But I’m a minority on the use case, if I didn’t rearrange the trailer constantly for different jobs or completely empty it to put vehicles in I’d be stupid to not use a mini split over a wave 3.

r/Ecoflow_community · is it worth upgrading from wave 2 to wave 3? They are both under powered. 2 is 5100btu the 3 is 6100 btu. If you don't need the battery get a portable ac instead. From most test neither one has much cooling power. Most test I've seen on a camper they only cool a few degrees after hours of use.

I noticed a substantial cooling difference when I taped off the inlet and outlet hoses where they connect to the unit, and then during the summer I put a coat over the hoses. They get very hot, and are essentially just radiating that heat straight back into the room.

r/Ecoflow_community · Wave 3 - temp sensor error 53 Returned it. Got a second unit. That second unit has also been returned. The heating only worked down to a certain temperature, around 5c. I am in the UK and that is just a normal night for 4 months of the year so it just didn't do what I needed it to. Ended up with a full refund.

r/Ecoflow_community · Trying to decide if the Wave 2 or 3 can fit my camping needs.(mostly looking for similar experience but helpful advice is welcome) The tent with the Wave 3 in the shade works well enough. Eco mode does ok when it’s under 80 degrees but once the temp cracks 80 you have to run it on normal or max. I am in Houston where the humidity is nuts. I had to get additional tarps for the sides to help me shield the sun so that I could cool it in 90 degree weather and on max it did a decent job. I run a delta 3 classic with a 48v 5kw extra battery. Gives 7hrs roughly on max and 24hrs on eco

On regular cooling with max fans it pulls about 500w. This is ideal because the battery input max is 500w. So at this I can pull about 10hrs. On max it pulls about 670w so it pulls more power than it inputs. You have to juggle the settings a bit to allow the delta 3 classic to charge more than it outputs.

In hvac, plumbing and every other application I’ve seen a condensate pump they specifically rate a certain level of rise that the pump is capable. I wouldn't be surprised if the rattling is the fan throwing itself inside around the unit. Unfortunately that probably means rma as I doubt they'll just send parts
r/Ecoflow_community · 12v feed for wave 3 without battery No, it's a 51.2v air conditioner. Having a 700w 12.8v to 51.2v converter on board would be wildly impractical and costly, especially with how you can run it directly off any delta power station besides a dpu or dpux. If you REALLY want to dive head first into the ecoflow ecosystem, you can get their 800w alternator charger and charge the onboard battery that way, which skips the inverter and is functionally the onboard charger you want it to have, for the size and cost it would have been if built in. You could also get a 12v portable AC, and you'll need multiple as they usually top out at around 3500 btu.

I send them an email describing the issue with a picture or that error code, they told me i need to send the unit back and once they receive it they will send me a replacement, first replacement took about 1 week, for the second one I should get a shipping label from them today Overall no hassle, very easy process, but i cant just keep doing it so next time this happens i might try what you did.

We only really have like 3 Midea models sold here, none of which seem to be dual duct (they are mostly just different BTUs of the same model) But I'll be on the lookout this summer if a dual duct one happens to show up, if Midea's really have quieter compressors. They do seem kinda cheap tho. My Electrolux AC was like, over 600 euros, and Midea ones seem to be a lot lower than that. Hopefully that doesn't mean the quality doesn't suck (for comparison Wave 3 is around 900 euros at most retailers).

Condensation has been a surprisingly a non-issue for my other ACs (the Electrolux which I’ve had for 3 years hasn’t yet needed to be emptied), I wonder if it’s going to be a problem with the Wave 3 then. The variety of printable adapters, and longer hoses available are a big bonus, that no other brand really has. The ambient air temp sensor being inside the machine may be a problem though. That’s why I’ve not yet tested making a DIY dual duct solution for my current AC, because the only air temp probe is right in the inlet on it as well. Does the Wave 3 have unofficial HA integration though? Or is it very strictly controllable only via the EcoFlow app?

Yeah that’s what I’ve read about the Wave 2, but some reviews seem to say the Wave 3 is a lot better. Of course it’s only 6100 BTUs, but if it’s more efficient because of the dual ducts, it could help. I also found that I can get a new Wave 3 for as cheap as 800€. Which is still a lot of money, of course. But not too far from what I had to pay for my Electrolux (that of course has many more BTUs, but isn’t very efficient due to it having one duct)

All you need is a reliable power supply which can sustain 8 amps continuous at either 12 or 24 volts (connected to the included XT60i car charger cable). There are quite a few power supplies on the market with DC car cigarette lighter sockets on the end of them. As long as it can supply enough continuous current (8 amps), these will work just fine. Another cheap/reliable option would be to use an old AT/ATX power supply from a desktop computer (combined with a 4 pin molex to cigarette lighter socket adapter). Computer PSUs usually have more than enough 12V output for something like this.
r/Ecoflow_community · Wave 3 add-on battery enquiry Out of curiosity, I just tried this with my Wave 3 battery. At first I thought it couldn't be done because nothing happened when I plugged 12V into the XT60 port (with the battery disconnected from the Wave 3). Here's what I found out: **The good news**: Even though the battery's manual makes it seem otherwise, the battery can charge standalone from a 12V source without needing to be connected to a Wave 3. I'd imagine it would also work with solar (too dark outside right now to test), but this means you could use just about any beefy DC power supply (13 amps or more) between 11 and 60 volts. **The bad news** (but also useful/functional): When you set the maximum/minimum percentage for battery charge/discharge percentage, this is stored inside the battery's BMS (not the Wave 3). This is why it wouldn't charge when I first tried. Anyways, this means that you cannot change the max/min battery percentage without connecting it to the Wave 3. However, it's also nice that the battery will respect custom charging/discharging settings while operating separately (instead of blindly charging to 100 percent or discharging to 0). Just be cautious about which cable you use. The XT60i connectors have an extra metal clip in the middle which allows it to identify the cable type to the battery (so the battery knows how much current it can safely draw). The included car charger adapter has this extra pin, and it informs the battery's charger (so the charger knows to stay at 8 amps or below). If you plug in a regular/ordinary XT60 cable without this extra pin, it will likely assume that you have solar connected and then will attempt to draw maximum current (up to 13 amps, which is too high for most car auxiliary power outlets).

Yeah... without an outlet for the cold air, it basically becomes a really fancy dehumidifier which slowly dumps its wasted heat \[from simply operating\] into the air. 1kWh of energy from the battery isn't negligible (equivalent to running a medium sized electric space heater for a bit under an hour), but it's going to take 2-4 hours to extract that heat from the battery at maximum settings (along with blowing both very hot and very cold air into the room/tent). >It also disappointing that it doesn't work well below zero. This one is tricky for a portable AC unit. Heat pumps which operate below zero are equipped with heating elements to occasionally de-ice the coil/radiator on the cold side. For a non-portable permanently installed heat pump, this is trivial because the ice can melt and drip directly onto the ground outside. ..but portable units need the water pumped out (and the water can quickly freeze or re-freeze in the condensation reservoir if it's extremely cold outside). On top of that, you'd likely need/want a higher capacity battery because running the heating elements for de-icing takes quite a bit of power. Last but not least, a portable unit with heating elements would also add a little extra weight. A portable heat pump for extremely cold temperatures might be feasible if it were allowed to sit outside your tent and freely drip water, but then you also run into the problem of the battery temperature getting extremely cold. >I just really wanted to not do a gas/fuel based heater. You might not necessarily need to go gas/fuel, but you might be better off with a power station connected to an electric space heater (or an electric oil-filled space heater for additional safety).

If you use that cable, the battery will just assume that you connected a solar panel and will try to draw a maximum of 13A (which is more than the typical 8A maximum that a car accessory socket can provide). r/Ecoflow_community · Brand new Wave 3 - horrendous sound from water drain pump I jinxed myself by responding to this thread. 😋 I didn't use my Wave 3 for a few days, so I pushed the button to manually drain it. I was immediately greeted with this same screeching sound. 😂 After running the compressor for 20-30 minutes and letting a little water build up inside again, the noise is gone. It hasn't made the sound again after running for about 8 hours continuously. Maybe this is just how the pump sounds whenever the pump's seals are completely dried-out.

The pump usually sounds kinda' like a really slow/quiet coffee grinder (none of that high pitched noise). At the start of the video, it does sound a bit like something rubbing on a rubber seal (which lines up with your dry pump theory). Mine have never made this high pitched sound though (I have 3 of these).

I'd typically suggest the [stabilizing strap kit](https://us.ecoflow.com/products/wave-series-stabilizing-strap-kit) to screw it down to a board or whatever, but it's been out of stock for a couple of months now. Not sure what the story is there (haven't emailed/asked, but I keep checking the page occasionally). There are a bunch of places you could hook/strap to on the new [silver protection bag](https://us.ecoflow.com/products/wave-series-silver-protection-bag) though (it's designed to run the Wave while it's still inside the bag). It's expensive (compared to the Wave 2 bag), but it's made really well (and reflects the sun to keep the device a bit cooler).

This guy ([Hobotech](https://youtu.be/-rQD-9onhFQ?t=559)) tested how low it would go, and the Wave 3 was still producing heat with inlet air temperatures down to 31F (-0.5C). Low temperature testing starts at 9:19 in the video. It eventually shut itself down at 30F (-1.1C) and was cycling on/off. You might be able to get away with using it during some winter days and early nights, but super cold nights/mornings are going to have inlet air temperatures which are too low (the heat pump simply cannot extract heat anymore). >I know the minimum operating temp is 5c but I was thinking if it recirculates the air inside the air should be warmer then that? The device is a heat pump, so it transfers heat from one place to another. In this case, you'd want/need to transfer heat from the outside air into your tent (even if the Wave 3 was sitting inside of your tent, which is probably a good idea with those weather conditions). If you run a heat pump inside of a tent (using the tent's air as both an inlet and an outlet), you're just pumping heat from one side of the tent to the other (very cold AC air blowing from one side of the Wave 3, and warm/hot air blowing from the other side). In this scenario, the tent will gradually heat up a bit from pump inefficiency losses and electrical conversion losses (wasted as heat), so this would still technically function as a slow/gradual heater to some degree. You'd almost be better off just running a small heater instead though (or a heating blanket). Electric coil heaters are essentially 100 percent power efficient. A heat pump is going to be ***more*** than 100 percent power efficient, but only if you can provide the pump with sufficient inlet air from outside of your tent. There are larger heat pumps which can function with inlet temps as low as -30C, but they have heating coils to melt frost/ice as it accumulates. I'm sure a small/portable one could be made for very low outdoor temperatures, but I don't know if one already exists.
r/Ecoflow_community · Wave 3 app manual drain I'd imagine you've already seen that there is an automatic drain function (which also had a small reliability firmware update yesterday). It automatically drains whenever the water level gets to "medium". Did you just want to remotely drain it more often for some reason? I'd imagine that a manual button press for the draining function might be a disaster for some people if they accidentally "fat finger" a button press on their phone (and water suddenly starts getting pumped onto the floor without a drain line attached). I guess it could be an occasionally useful feature though (with a warning confirmation popup or something). I'm usually standing next to my Wave 3 whenever I need to manually drain it (so I can just push the button). I don't think there is a way to manually run the pump (unless it is already full to at least to a "medium" level and you enable the automatic drain function).
r/Ecoflow_community · EF Wave 3 and Delta 3 Plus You can power the Wave 3 with either the Delta 3 Plus or with a Delta 3 series extra battery, but you cannot plug in both at the same time (because there is only one XT150 port on the Delta 3 Plus). It is fairly common for Ecoflow to sell the Wave 3 bundled with the Delta 3 (and a short XT150 cable). I think people like the idea of this option because it is usually only $50-$100 more than the Wave 3 battery, but then you get a whole power station (and the battery capacity is the same). With some sales, it's been the same price. There are tradeoffs though. The biggest/obvious one is that the battery doesn't clip nicely to the bottom of the Wave 3. Another tradeoff is that you cannot change any of the charge level settings (it's missing entirely from the app when the Wave 3 is connected to a Delta 3 extra battery). You can probably configure these settings beforehand while the battery is connected to the Delta 3 Plus though (I believe the value gets stored inside the battery BMS). If you want solar input, you'll definitely need to either use the Wave 3 battery (since the solar connector is on the battery) or you'll need to connect the Wave 3 to a power station which has solar inputs (like the Delta 3 Plus that you already have).

I was having issues with a Wave 2, and after doing some troubleshooting with them by email, they determined that it is not repairable and replaced it with a Wave 3. Ironically, I just made a post about that replacement unit that is making a loud sound, but nothing like this. Good luck!

Max eco or sleep full medium or low fan? The official battery for wave 3 is around 1kw something you will get around 6-8 hours on that if running in eco mode low-medium fan. So id say around 20-26 hours in the setting and mode above accounting for some inverter loss It’s hard to gauge as there are many variables Max everything u may get about a hour or two or the original battery so u may get around 6 hours of max usage with the delta pro OG Again hard to say as variables such as inverter draw, battery capacity/cycle life left/age of cells, fan speed, operating mode, ambient air temps and how many times the water pump cycles etc etc

For quietest operation you need to run in ethier the sleep or eco mode and use a low blower speed. It’s not unreasonable for a bit of noise, just due to the nature of the device, what is is…. There are a couple of fans there working, a compressor and refrigerate running around, also the hum from the water pump. But this 2nd unit is way more silent than my first one. For reference: my faulty one was one of the first off manufacturer line manufactured near the start of 2025, this new quilter unit was manufactured in July this year and support said they were unable to provide this replacement until around z8th August due to no stock, so defo another batch of them now in the uk that are a bit more polished. Also been a few firmware updates now too.

I have a 2nd wave 3 now and the difference is night and day in terms of noise. Also another thing people do is not ensure unit is entirely flat. So make sure it’s flat. If not you will be making it hard for the water pump to work which could cause additional noise, early life failure or a potential water leakage

r/Ecoflow_community · Ecoflow wave 3, good bad? Need reviews I have three. The hardware is good, and the cooling performance is great. There are some really screwy bugs in the software, for example on sleep mode it will work perfectly all night and then sometimes at 5am just ramp the fans and compressor up to max for a bit even though the temp didn’t change. All three of them do it sometimes so I doubt it’s a hardware issue. EcoFlow seem unlikely to make significant improvements to software after release (they’ll just release a Wave 4 instead lol) so I wouldn’t expect issues like that to go away. If anything goes wrong, their support is beyond terrible. They shipped me a Glacier Classic that was dead on arrival, and it’s been a month so far trying to sort it out. They did manage to collect the dead one the other day, but radio silence so far about sending me a working one.

This product seems to fit what Im looking for, but the amount of negative posts/comments arent reassuring They’re great as long as the space is well sealed and not too big. Great cooling power and not too noisy. There was a firmware update in the last couple days that fixed some sporadic noise issues I was having in sleep mode too. The problem I have, and that others in here have, is that half the EcoFlow gear I have bought has arrived dead, and it can take a long time to get it sorted because their support is very slow. I bought a Glacier Classic a month and a half ago, it didn’t work at all when it arrived. It took several weeks before they managed to pick up the defective one. Now it’s 12 days since they picked it up and there has been zero communication about sending me a working one. Bought a third Wave 3 a few weeks ago and upon arrival it had a severe grinding noise when running (seemed to be coming from the compressor). They were a bit faster to pick that up so maybe they’re getting better. We’ll see how long it takes to get a working one. Obviously it would be a lot easier if their stuff would just not arrive broken so often.

Intake on the back and exhaust on the top at the back. Is the penetration where they go outside nicely sealed up? Are they arranged outside so that the intake isn’t sucking in the exhaust air? These units are temperamental but it’s well over 100 here and two of mine are cooling well (the third one is about to be returned for an unrelated reason)

r/Ecoflow_community · Powering Wave 3 w DC power.. You could directly power the wave from the delta-3 using an XT-150 cable. I know that the Delta II Max has two of these connectors. I don't know if the Delta III Plus does, but it might. I know that standard Delta does not. Having two of these would allow you to accept power from your alternator charger whilst outputting to the wave directly, but this would be bypassing the wave battery. I guess if you had the 500 watt alternator charger that came with an XT-50 connector instead of the XT-150, you could do so with a standard Delta-3. This would also let you simply connect the wave battery to the alternator charger without disconnecting it from the unit.

r/Ecoflow_community · WAVE 3 Leaking Near AC Input + Stuck Exhaust Tube When it came to the clips in the hose, I initially tried the method you gave yesterday myself and it worked, I ended up having to do this a couple of times, one for each adapter and on both sides of the hose (to troubleshoot it) and I brushed it off as just a bit stiff but today it's impossible to remove, even when prying the clips upwards. As for if the unit was level, I made sure the unit was level the entire time throughout it's operation, with the exception of when I'd goto drain the unit thoroughly following the guideance provided in the EcoFlow app where I'd slightly tilt it back

I noticed the leak before I thoroughly drained the unit today though and promptly reacted by hitting the thorough drain button, letting it get most of the water out and then pulling the plug out of the wall for safety as the unit has in my eye, become an electrocution hazard considering the proximity to the AC & DC power inputs

r/Ecoflow_community · Unsure on buying an EcoFlow Wave 3 I’m happy with mine and it will cool your room. When using mine in the bedroom I have it set on a chair and a water bucket below it. It seems to work best like that. And also it shortens the distance I have to duct it out the windows, which is a good thing. It is a really good product and the app is great. But if I were you I would consider: A: finding a hobby like camping or something so you get more use of it. Or power it with solar panels. That way it would be easier to justify the cost. B: get a regular non dual hose AC for cheaper if you won’t use it in a way that it would benefit from being DC capable.

Edit: this will probably not work unless you are an electrical engineer and can figure out what all the xt150 pins does, so I’m not recommending anyone doing this. Something that however will work is to make a 24V or 32V battery bank, connect it via xt60 cable to the wave 3 battery and treat it as a solar panel. You will get 400W charging from that, so it will last a very long time. Get 4 12V 100Ah batteries, Connect them in series so you get a 48V 100Ah battery bank (4.8 kWh). Make a xt150 cable and connect it to the wave 3. Now you have a homemade wave 3 battery with almost 5 times the power and that can be separated into regular 12V batteries anytime you want.

r/Ecoflow_community · Wave 3 - More Issues I'm trying to cool the the back of my truck which has an insulated truck topper. The total area is 6'9" long x 5'7" wide x 4' tall. So 38 ft^2 (3.5 m^2). The 3.5 is far less than your stated 17. I bought this thing specially to keep my dogs cool because you advertised a pet care mode. This thing would not keep them cool at all! As I said previously the 7k btu unit I just bought has no issue at all in keeping the truck bed at 70 degrees even in 90+ degree weather. I have been dealing with your service people on eBay and they only respond once per night so it took over a week to get a return authorization on the first unit. Now I'm outside of the normal return window. I also bought a delta 3 plus to use with the wave. I can't return it either because if how long this process is taking. Currently I have spent $1500 bucks and God knows how much time messing with this thing and it still doesn't do what it says or should do.

I ran it today for over 3 hours and it maybe dropped the temp 3 degrees. It really is worthless. I went out and bought a 7k btu ($400) portable AC from Lowe's today. I ran it for 30 minutes and the temps dropped 10 degrees. The Wave 3 just freaking sucks. It is no way worth the price they are asking.

The good: Cools insanely well for its size. Had it in my 10x12 shed during a heatwave, and it dropped the temp from 88°F to 72°F in under 20 mins. Battery life is legit. Ran it for 8 hours on eco mode (with solar charging) during a camping trip and it barely blinked. Love how portable it is. The handles and weight make it easy to move around, unlike those clunky old-school units. The not-so-good: The app can be glitchy. Sometimes it disconnects randomly, but restarting it fixes it. At full power, it’s louder than I expected, like a window AC on medium. Not a dealbreaker, but worth noting if you’re noise-sensitive. Overall a great product if you can pay for it. Looks like over reviews I came across were generally positive for both the wave 3 and the wave 2.

I want the ability to replace it. First time it happens and I can’t purchase it I am typically done with the brand. Obviously if I break the wave 3 case or drop the battery and it breaks, complete replace. Accessory’s available only at purchase is a major turn off. Just noticed there is no wave 3 ac adapter replacement as well. (I know these cables are not “Special” however, some things like I cables I 100% prefer OEM over third party or making my own)

Meaning look at your ambient temp and subtract -15 degrees and that should be what your outlet temp is. So in your case I would expect to see about 53 degrees output or lower but 55 isn’t all that far off. Also it should be running for a good 30 min before getting the final number. Also I’m using the app to control it.

After my first Wave 2 was replaced under warranty for a scrambled screen, I never updated the firmware on the replacement. Did they do any firmware improvements beyond the water drain thing? My biggest complaint was that even manually set, the Wave 2 demonstrably adjusts the compressor, presumably targeting a delta t of somewhere around 18 degrees between inlet and outlet. If you don't build a shroud or purposefully pipe inlet and outlet away from each other you get degraded performance. I'm on shore power damnit, I don't care about wattage, I just want either max or manual mode to be true. I'm guessing the Wave 3 isn't different or they did something like target a delta of 20F instead or something.

They wanted a bunch of info from me and it's annoying to have to wait 24-48 hours for an email reply to everything. Their phone tech support are a 3rd party company that can't do anything other than send an internal message to Ecoflow. You will never speak to anyone who can solve a problem, only people who are doing their best and following their training \[remember it's a 3rd party company, not Ecoflow\]. Even email response times are awful. I'd rate their customer support system as a 2 out of 10. It works, but it's not designed to treat you like you're a human with a thousand dollar problem. But, in the end, they will email you a fedex shipping label. Even once they receive the package, it can take them a while to ship you a replacement. The 1st time it took them an additional 2 weeks to send a new one. The 2nd time they were faster and it only took 5 calendar days to ship a new one. The 3rd one I have is great. No rattles, no problems of any sort. But, I have not connected it to the internet yet. I just hit the on button... Good luck!

My sliding door works similarly and I have to block up that area (in the middle) to reduce warm air coming in. Just thought I'd mention in case it helps you improve efficiency.

WHen I remove the hose and just leave the tab open, it does drain, so im worried its not hooked up properly internally? i tried unplugged and replugging the hose in many times both ways, and just blew through the hose to make sure it wasnt clogged

And right away I noticed hot air pulsing back into the cabin around the exhaust flange instead of going outside where it’s supposed to go. The unit is basically working against itself. So I contacted EcoFlow support expecting them to make it right. You know what they told me? Put tape on it. That’s their answer for a known manufacturing defect on a unit that costs what this thing costs. And when I pushed for a real fix, they offered me prorated value. So now they want to depreciate a unit that I’ve barely even used, for a defect that they already know about. This isn’t wear and tear. This is their problem that they’re passing off onto the customer. That’s the part that really gets me. They know about this issue. It’s a known defect with the base panel sealing around the exhaust flange and they’re still out here selling these units without saying a word about it. Then when you come forward they offer you tape and pennies. Do your homework before you buy one of these. I wish I had. How’s that feel?

This product seems to fit what Im looking for, but the amount of negative posts/comments arent reassuring We actually ran the Wave 3 through a pretty thorough test last summer in a van and awning setup so this is a question I can give you a real answer on. The Wave 3 has more cooling power, 6,100 BTU vs 5,100 on the Wave 2, and pushes significantly more airflow, 330 vs 250 cubic metres per hour. In a van that difference is noticeable on really hot days. The dehumidifier mode is also a genuine addition, not a gimmick, especially in a small space overnight. The battery is the biggest upgrade though. Wave 3 uses LFP chemistry which gives roughly 5x the lifespan of the Wave 2 battery. If you're using it regularly that alone justifies the price difference over time. If you already own a Wave 2 and it's working for your space, the upgrade is hard to justify. If you're buying new, the Wave 3 is the one to go for.

Even on low mine has a loud compressor running. Horribly loud. Can't sleep with it. r/Ecoflow_community · Planning on getting EcoFlow Wave 3 to replace a portable AC in my apartment, is it worth it? after reading through peoples experiences with the Wave 2/3, especially around noise, efficiency, and how much of a compromise it is for stationary use, Ive kinda come to the same conclusion that the Wave makes more sense for portability than apartment cooling. Im leaning toward keeping a normal AC and planning to pick up EcoFlow OCEAN Pro for battery storage instead. Separating cooling from energy storage seems more practical long-term, especially for backup power and peak usage, rather than forcing everything into one device.

They are actually nearly 100% efficient as they covert almost all of the power in to heat. For the money you are gonna spend on a wave just get a cheap mini split, they have ones that run on 120v and they are much more efficient and will get way more btus out of them for the same cost.

I will say in the summer with similar temps, no humidity (very little).. it keeps the room at about 78 or so.. depending on how hot it is outside. It says 60c at the output, but for whatever reason despite running all day I can't get the 12'x12' room to drop below about 78. I too have a make shift setup with two hoses going to the window separated by about 3 feet. I drip into a 5gallon bucket and it will fill it up almost every day with condensation on AC mode. I decided to just use a heater blanket for winter. MUCH cheaper. For me alone. Those use about 50 to 100 watts, could be less. Keeps me plenty warm. That 4am noise thing I get too. Drives me nuts! I turn the unit off when I go to bed because they can't seem to fix this issue.

r/VanLife · Ecoflow Wave 3? So just Purchased the EcoFlow wave 3. This is only a prepers perspective’s. Maybe I got a working perfect unit and others have gotten duds. Unit has worked flawlessly. So I did not concentrate on the interior temp. I only ran it for 4 hours and my open concept floor plan could not co down the interior temp as way to large of an area. I believe the wave 3 is spec to heat /cool approximately 200 sqft or less. For 2 hours I had pure heat and pure AC. No the interior temperature gauge did not change as it’s a minimum of 1,000 sq ft area. When I put my shirt over the vents for 5 mi. Intervals it was way way to hot and on AC I got cold. A tent does not trap heat/AC. Maybe it will heat or co your area but really anything over 180 sqft is too much. Power consumption. So I had the fan turned up all the way in ac or heat mode. I only pushed just under 300 watts through the 4 hours. 2 AC. 2 Heater. That’s not on max settings but full blast heat/ ac Hungry on batteries but I promise being a heat pump don your research and to cool or heat. Great product and with just under 300 watts on high fan heat love the product and love.

They roof tops use a lot of electricity to cool things just a little bit. I've been told 20 degrees below ambient is considered great. But! my Ecoflow 10KwH system was dumping 25 degress of above ambient heat into my van! I've figured out how to vent my Ecoflow system, and I'm going back to the Wave positioned right at the head of my bench high bed, where my dog and I both sleep. The cool air the roof top DID manage to make only blew about 18" down from my high roof. Might be good if you have a high platform bed? no good for me. Also, per this exhaust hose problem, I run an insulated hose from the exhaust of the Wave 3, right up into the Lemans, with that vent fan set to pull air out.

I have enough power in the van to run a regular house AC for a small room, so I got that from Home Depot and it seems to work alright. In my case, the biggest issue that that my black van turns into a massive oven in the sun, and in order to keep it cool, the AC first has to cool down the shell, or at least overpower the shell's radiation. I am yet to test the new AC in the hot Texas sun, but even if it doesn't work, at least it's 1/4 of the price. I honestly do love EcoFlow products, I just wish this worked, but it didn't.

Need reviews I used it in a 15m² room with two ducts and very good insulation. \- The duct attachments leak (plastic on plastic with no seal): hot air from the air conditioner is blown into the room. \- The room temperature doesn't drop due to the first point. \- Drains every 2 hours with 55/60% humidity in the room. \- Louder than a large portable air conditioner (the noise is also more unpleasant to the ear). \- You have to be in front of the unit's fan to feel cool, but the airflow at full cooling power is very unpleasant. One of the worst purchases I've ever made.

r/Ecoflow_community · I want to run the Ecoflow Wave 3 on DC without the battery. What is the best way? I'm considering this too but knowing how eco flow is and those connectors are generally 48v from what I can see from specs online I'd have to assume the device runs off 48v so it wouldn't really be the best anyways to connect it directly via DC because you'd still have to step to 48v unless your system is 48v already. It maybe a bit more efficient but kinda defeats the purpose anyways. And yea if I had to bet one or multiple of those 6 pins probably have to see power to be able to input the power into the device. It maybe a pulse signal as well which would be very hard to counter.

r/Ecoflow_community · Fuite Ecoflow wave 3 If you have made sure the unit is sitting on level surface, then most likely the water level sensor is not working correctly. I would reach out to Ecoflow. During the previous UK heatwave (30-34C), my unit (which is a Wave 2) can chill 25C ambient air to ~14C on max power. If your unit is new out of the box, it's possible it has been transported sideways or upside down. You'll have to let it sit the right way up for at least a couple of days to allow the lubricant oil to flow back before running it again.

Even with the battery connected, Wave 3 and battery turned off, if I unplug from the wall and back in the Wave turns on and starts air conditioning. So any interruption in power appears to start the machine with or without battery pack.

The solar is connected to the RV system not the Wave directly. So in effect, the problem is that with the Wave 3 completely off and dead battery, if you plug it into an outlet, it immediately starts up in max AC mode. r/Ecoflow_community · Question. Is Wave 2 better than Wave 3 or something?? This product seems to fit what Im looking for, but the amount of negative posts/comments arent reassuring I would say the Wave 2/3 are amazing products for tent camping. I think some have used it as a dedicated box unit, and you will never be satisfied honestly. The best combo would be a battery pack and a regular few hundred dollars AC units, available at hardware stores.

Need reviews I've been using the Wave 3 for about 1 month now, so I can share some real world experience. **The Good:** The cooling performance is actually pretty solid for what it is. I use it in my RV during summer trips and it definitely makes a noticeable difference in a small space (under 200 sq ft works best). The battery life is decent, I get about 4-6 hours on eco mode depending on outside temp. Setup is super simple, just plug and go. **The Reality Check:** It's not going to replace a traditional AC unit if you're expecting that level of cooling. Think of it more as a really good personal cooler that can take the edge off. I learned this the hard way during a 95°F day in Arizona. It helped but wasn't a miracle worker. The noise level is noticeable but not terrible. About like a window AC unit on low. My biggest complaint is actually the water tank - you'll be refilling it more often than you'd expect in dry climates. **Worth it?** : For me, yes. I pair it with my Delta 2 power station and it's been great for camping and power outages. But I went in with realistic expectations. If you're looking for something to cool a large space or replace central air, you'll be disappointed. What's your intended use case? That really determines if it's the right fit. r/Ecoflow_community · WAVE 2 battery? WAVE 3? They're fully compatible 🔄 + extra 5% off early bird deal inside! This is odd as EcoFlow themselves are selling the new Wave 3 unit with the wave 2 add on battery! The only difference they say is that the new 3 battery will last a bit longer on a charge but also a longer life expectancy it also allows for charging without need to be connect to the device (assuming it has its own built in ports which is a plus if you have more than one battery. I have just ordered a Wave 3 with Wave 2 battery direct form Ecoflow (on Amazon they have a deal for £649 although it wont be delivered until August (but I'm not sure if the UK has stock yet anyway!) The Website price from Eco for the same is £749 and any discounts or credits cant be applied so the Amazon deal is £100 cheaper so worth the wait time. These prices are based on 04 July 2025 as the bundle is being sold directly from Ecoflow themselves it would be hard for them to wriggle out of saying there is an incompatibility. I fully expect the battery wont last or perform as well on the Wave 3 as it did on the Wave 2 as the new model is more power hungry and as such the older battery is a lower spec so will last less time than it would have on the Wave 2 model. I would guess the best option would be is to keep the Wave 2 battery as its a good deal and then rather than trade up to the Wave 3 battery get one of their other power stations or something similar and then use that to power the unit (as it will be more versatile in general, granted it will be another bigger unit but lets face it the Wave isnt exactly back pack size so fitting in another larger power pack in the care for trip away shouldn't be too much or a problem I will be using mine on the boat, Ive just fitted a motorhome under bench AC unit on the 12V system which should be fine for a while on shore power but the eco will be handy for the over night stays to avoid draining the main batteries if not plugged in. or just as a boost to the temp if power is plentiful. there are quite a few portable AC units about now but I think the Ecoflow Wave unit is the one to go for as the others are still a bit being on the battery side although I guess if you are going to carry a larger power pack with you and solar charge it then actually it might not be an issue, but the portability of a one unit for a day out say is convenient, it will also be handy to take to hotels where AC is not fitted (and the bonus is it their electric!)

r/Ecoflow_community · Wave 3 usgae for residential small room possible? - Prospective Wave 3 buyer I'm using the Wave 3 to cool a room about 200 sq. ft. that gets to about 95 degrees this time of year if the house A/C is off. And it works pretty good because the room is insulated well. I purchased because I'm using solar to power for most of the time. I can get the room down to about 78-80 degrees if it's running full blast, and that's at about 110 degrees outside. At night, the Wave can cycle on/off and keep cool. Definitely more energy efficient than a 10,000 btu portable A/C because I've tried those as well. The efficiency is quite impressive on the Wave 3. The trick is to insulate the out take air duct hose, and also insulate the snap-on port duct. I use a heat resistant bubble wrap. I'm more concerned with the long term use running the wheels of this unit for a few months out of the year.

Cons - Its heavy and not that easy to setup/takedown. 2000wh is barely enough battery to get through a night (but I like to sleep cold like 68°). Needs to be sitting flat so It doesn't leak, need to drain it before moving or it will spill. Doesn't come with vent hose adapters you have to make your own with the template. Also the vent hoses aren't insulated. Pros - blows hard and creates a lot of air movement. Has a dehumidifier function that works well and also a strong heater (other AC units don't have either). You can control or monitor remotely. Uses ~525 watts on Max cool Uses ~270 watts when on a set temp I'm not bothered by how loud or quiet it is. Seems normal volume to me.

r/Ecoflow_community · Wave 3 and Delta 2 Max Where do you suggest getting the extra battery cable from? Ecoflow website? I was thinking I saw the cable for $89. Is there a cheaper place to get the cables? If it works I will be getting a couple of cables and probably another wave 3 battery. That would give the D2Max 1400watts solar input and 3kw of storage as well as allow it to run the wave 3 without wasting electricity on inverting to AC and back to DC! Maybe a better use for the D2Max's 2400watt inverter if you can pull from 1800watts solar/DC input to keep up with high draw things and run a medium sized window air conditioner that can pull 1100 to 1300watts running on high.

r/Ecoflow_community · Wave 3 (Underperforming Wave 2) Shit mine is lucky if it reads in the 50° anything. The temp sensors aren’t accurate. Testing with a secondary thermometer it does hit mid 50° output. Just don’t read the correct temp. But even then my wave 2 would be putting out in the high 40°’s.

But most modern consumer electronics are engineered to hit the bare minimum, and there's rarely much headroom. Even something as simple as slightly thicker wiring, better heat dissipation, or improved insulation could be what allows the Wave 3 to run at higher wattage. That doesn't mean the Wave 3 is better. It may just be engineered to a slightly higher bare minimum. Without those changes, trying to push the Wave 2 further could lead to premature failure.

I just don't know if the 6-pin part is required. I can tear apart cables or whatever I need to do. I just think Ecoflow sucks for trying to force you to use their crap. Need reviews I tested it in my bedroom, which might as well be a sauna in the summer, and within 20 minutes it went from 'I’m melting' to 'oh hey, this is actually comfortable.' It’s not going to turn your place into an igloo, but for something this small, I was shocked at how well it handled the heat. What really sold me was the battery life. I ran it for a full movie night (yes, all three _Lord of the Rings_ extended editions, don’t judge me) and it still had juice left. And it’s so easy to move around—I carried it to a friend’s garage hangout when their AC died, and suddenly I was the hero of the night. On eco mode, it’s quiet enough that I could sleep without feeling like I was next to a jet engine. That said, it’s not perfect. The app is kind of a mess—it keeps forgetting my settings, and half the time I have to restart it to get it to connect. And if you crank it up to max, it does get a little loud, like a window AC unit on medium. Not unbearable, but noticeable if you’re trying to have a conversation. Still, after returning three other portable ACs this summer, I’m keeping this one. It’s not magic, but it’s the closest thing I’ve found to beating the heat without installing a permanent unit. If you’re on the fence, just go for it—worst case, you join the club of people who finally stopped sweating through their sheets every night
