For the last 2 years, before CES, I've had zooms with engineers, Product managers and reps from most of the major vac companies, so i can tell you exactly why they focused on those features. Thresholds are a major complaint they get. But there's a nice side benefit to the lifting chassis- downward pressure on the mops. The biggest decision factor people use when buying? Suction power. That's why numbers skyrocketed. I would also like to see more R&D models, but the S10 was disappointing, and i LOVE switchbots. I think the future is 3i's model. people are renters, tapping into the water is intimidating. Remember, most of the cleaning in households is still done by women. Disagree on the killer features... here's what I see that I want more of. More effective, less sexy sweeps. I was fascinated when Roborock changed the design of theirs, but the ones that work? Giant, three armed sweeps in constant contact w the ground. The more, the better. The most effective is the 3i S10, where they move in opposite directions. The Eufy e25/28 has them too, but those models suck for other reasons. Ditching dual rollers. Everything gets caught in them. The new Roborock tapered rollers are great becuase big debris can get through, and things don't get caught. Also... i call BS on the mop testing. Rollers are fine, they're better than spinning mops, but for reasons I can't explain, a vibrating mop pad is still the most effective for actually lifting stains from tile. It may not be the cleanest (I buy that rollers are more "sterile" but vibrating mops do a better job. Also.. that extending arm? Its an MVP. If you ask me, its how they're going to achieve stairs. Think like big equipment- that's how excavators climb.

FarConcern2308r/RobotVacuums · Is the Switchbot S10 not a reliable product? The extensive poor reviews here seem to indicate so. A pity, given the sale and cutting edge mopping + integrated docking tech. →2025-01-02
Having owned an iRobot s9 for years, we appreciated the vacuuming power until an update changed the way it operated. After several tech reviews from people we’ve followed for years gave the Switchbot glowing reviews, we decided to get it. Primarily, the water exchange station made it most appealing. That is where the positive review begins and ends. The robot itself is terrible at vacuuming and even worse at mopping. After only a few months, error after error plagued the robot. The help center arranged to ship it for “repair” and after a few weeks it was returned to us. Now it operates even worse than before. While I admit that the water exchange station is a great idea, it does not help the robot perform the actual vacuuming and mopping it should be doing. If I could return it, I would. Glad we kept the iRobot because at least it vacuumed really well, just got stuck a lot. Any robot in the future will be intensely tested the first week and if any doubt remains, will be returned immediately (which is what we should have done with this) Someone’s review in Amazon. Yikes.

People will only post complaints so it's natural you find mainly those threads. I got the S10 from Kickstarter and it's the best cleaning robot I ever had. And I tried Dreame L10s and Roborock s8 pro ultra. The S10 is miles better and really cleans the floor while the others basically drive the dirt through your whole appartment and you need to clean their station a lot which gets really nasty. My experiences with customer support were flawless, unlike dreame and Roborock where I eventually in both cases had to get a lawyer involved in order to get a full refund cause both turned out to not function properly. Switchbots support was always kind, fast responding and helped me perfectly. My auto empty station had a little problem and they sent me a new one without hesitation. The replacement station unfortunately had a problem too but they did not hesitate and sent me another one. Another time I noticed a firmware bug and notified switchbot through the "Feedback" section of the app. They forwarded this to the software devs and not even 2 weeks later the bug was fixed in the next firmware update. I'm 100% happy with Switchbot.

I like my switchbot s10. My favourite thing is that it has a water station. So it fills and empties itself. I’m using the switchbot mqtt integration and it works well.

Switchbot hopefully enhanced their Matter support soon. We love our S10. Mopping is next level and the plumbed water station is brilliant!

I bought the s10 and it works great. Big fan of the water station. And the newest firmware lets you do another floor without the water station. I’m using mine with switchbot 2 mqtt and it works great. No issues

DIYnivorr/RobotVacuums · recommendations for self emptying + object avoidance and preferably quiet robot? →2025-05-27
I'm very happy with my switchbot s10. I change the bag once every couple of months. I wouldn't call it silent, but it hasn't annoyed me, and you can adjust the suction power lower to make it quieter if you need to. Never runs into anything.

The first S10 I had stopped working. I tried reaching out to SwitchBot support, but they took 8 days to reply. Fortunately, I was still within the return period for Amazon and returned it. I purchased a second one. It's been about 3 months and it seems to work well. I've previously had a iRobot for many years. We'll see how the S10 holds up.

Well, if anyone is interested, I have the S10 and been using it since a few weeks. I would agree with most points: Station setup and footprint water hookup roller mop The robot is too tall with 115mm AI obstacle avoidance is very bad for this price range

I've had a deebot x1 omni or whatever it was called, switchbot s10 and now ordered this one.. Switchbot app sucked at release but they quickly improved it and even responded & added a suggestion of mine. deebot one was my first one and I thought the app was okay. curious to find out about the dreame one now :) Deebot had a wheel motor die => they didnt find a replacement => got a refund Switchbot => out of the 14ish months of owning it in total, it was in their repair center for 5 of them (and defect waiting for another repair for a long time as well).. I just requested a refund since I was sick of having to send it back each time and not have a usable robot. also their support has gotten so slow to respond lately (it wasn't like this at the start) (3d-2w to respond.. when they finally decide you can send it back they ask you to confirm the address and then you need to wait another 3d-2w until you finally get the tracking info..)

Mine arrived dead. Apparently they're sending a new battery, but that was a week ago and I haven't heard anything since. Pretty sure it's not the battery, but we'll see. Not impressed so far.

ok, don't get the S10. i wanted it to be fantastic, because I love Switchbot, but it wasn't. Same for Eufy e25 I think there are better options for you. Here's what I recommend. https://www.reddit.com/r/RobotVacuums/comments/1lr2zgt/prime_day_recommendations_by_price_band_these_are/

I’ve had mine 1 year on July 5 officially. I haven’t had any major problems. I just replaced the water tank and gutter for the first time not out of necessity but out of precaution. I do thoroughly clean out the inside of the S10 about once every month or two. It can be a pain especially around the roller mop area. I use the included brush cleaner and slide the side of a microfiber cloth in there and it’s not too bad. I also have been cleaning the roller mop with bleach spray after every use and turn off the roller mop blower which runs for hours and isn’t that effective at preventing it from getting a stinky mildew smell. Overall, I’m happy with it and enjoy having it directly hooked up to my plumbing in our guest bathroom underneath our floating vanity. If I didn’t happen to have that perfect spot for it I might be a little less excited about it. Would I buy another one next time? I will strongly consider it. The roller mop in combination with it draining directly into your plumbing is a game changer in my opinion.

S10 has a major design flaw on the empty station. My empty station does not work; I notice the dying builds up a lot of mold inside the station. It is humid due to condensation, stinks, and is generally messy. I ordered the s10 when it came out, and I regret it.

I have two mid pile rugs that I’d estimate are about 1/2” tall or so? I just did a test and visually it looks like the roller mop is grazing the very tops of the rugs when it’s in the lift position on our rugs. However It doesn’t seem to cause any problem or leave any wetness behind in our scenario. 1” sounds like a high pile/shag carpet to me and may drag a bit more but it may still handle it without any problems.

Non. C'est consensuel : "terrible at vacuuming and even worse at mopping" selon certains.
