|---|---|---|

r/Roborock · Roborock Saros 10 vs 10R vs Z70 – What the Reviews Say, What the Roborock Representatives Told Me, and Why I Ended Up Choosing the 10 (also abit about robot testing and why I find it extremely weird and inconsistent) Reviewers are rewarded to get videos out ASAP for views. First review out gets all the clicks. I was one of the last ones to release the video due to the units getting several firmware updates that changed their behavior. Vacuum Wars buys his units retail so his videos should reflect what a buyer would see. You mentioned that I chose the 10r over the 10. "but at the end he said he’d personally go for the 10R, purely because he believes Roborock is moving forward with **Starsight Navigation**, since it’s in the Z70 (**this is incorrect**)." First, thanks for watching my videos! Sadly that is a bit out of context from what I said. I did mention that I suspect Roborock might be transitioning to Starsight in the future, but only time will tell. I do not think one should choose the 10r just because of this system though. It does have it's advantages with object avoidance, but has some navigation bugs too. Here is what I said and I still feel this way today. [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z7DW-mx-TRs&t=752s](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z7DW-mx-TRs&t=752s) As it relates to which one should someone choose I would say get the one that works best for you. Both are good robots and each have their sets of pros and cons. I suspect the 10 was meant to be the flagship, but I am not positive. Jamie

r/Roborock · Saros 10R 24 Hour Review It should be at least as good as the previous generation stuff at release. Banking on software updates that may or may not come, on a non-specified timeline, isn't healthy.

And yeah the Test reviews .. who just sprinkle some dirt to suck up in the corners but not actual dirt on the floor for the mop. Just apply common sense please.

r/Roborock · Saros 10R 24 Hour Review "The obstacle avoidance seems worse, maybe even way worse?" The 10R is missing three front scanning lasers that model 10 has. I made a post about this on Reddit in detail [https://www.reddit.com/r/Roborock/comments/1ilwqp9/saros\_has\_finally\_launched/](https://www.reddit.com/r/Roborock/comments/1ilwqp9/saros_has_finally_launched/) hence its highly possible that Saros 10 may actually have better Obstacle Avoidance than Saros 10R.

r/Roborock · Roborock Saros 10 vs 10R vs Z70 – What the Reviews Say, What the Roborock Representatives Told Me, and Why I Ended Up Choosing the 10 (also abit about robot testing and why I find it extremely weird and inconsistent) "It knows and doesn't scratch itself". If you browse a bit this reddit, you will have bad surprised about the Saros 10, I've seen more than one that got scratched on top :( This said, interesting infos about the Z70 and the use of starsight vs lidar. Thanks for all the insights and sharing your knowledge :) I doubted A LOT like many of us between Saros 10 and Saros 10R and went with the Saros 10 for the starsight + easier dock to clean + no risk of having lidar error/turret that breaks and needs to be replaced. Personally, coming from the S7 MaxV, I'm amazed. What is really weird though, is that I received a defective unit first, with a main brush that broke in 3 days. The robot was fine the first 2 days but I was VERY underwhelmed in terms of performance, navigation etc (compared to my s7) What's interesting is that my new Saros 10R that has now been working for 7 days is like 10 times better than my old defective Saros unit, way faster, way smarter in the way it moves etc...and I tried both with the same firmware before updating to the latest one. I have no explanation, but the difference between the 2 Saros 10R was huge. As for the whole "duel" between Saros 10 and 10R, I guess it's just a question of preferences. I haven't seen a single test saying one is largely better than the other. Firmware update plays a big role as well in performance.

r/BuyItForLife · Is an all-in-one robot vacuum and mop with auto-empty station really worth the hype? Roborock Saros 10R. Had an iRobot before and with how smart the Roborock is, I don’t need to babysit it at all. The iRobot could only run when the house was orderly, but the Saros keeps its distance from shoes at the entrance for example

r/Roborock · After 1 Year with the Roborock Saros 10R: Great Battery, Frustrating in a Real Family Home Rug fringe would be an issue for any vacuum, not just a bot. Consider adding a no go zone at ends of rug so it ignores the fringe like you would when vacuuming with an upright vacuum. As for the toys, unfortunately we are all living in the beginning of AI, so yeah it kinda sucks. A nightly walkthrough before bed picking up toys will help with this.

r/RobotVacuums · Best robot vacuum + mop for messy home with kids & shedding dog (Dreame vs Roborock Saros?) I’ve commented this a few times but looks like your situation is similar to mine. I tried and returned both the Saros 10r and the CurvX after a week with each, and now have the Dreame X60. These issues may not be consistent with others experiences but they are mine. I have a 3 and 4 year old and 2 German Shepards. All floor are vinyl planks and the bedrooms are carpet. - vacuuming: both Roborocks were not good, especially on carpet. They would drive over hard floor and leave hair/debris as if the suction wasn’t on. - object avoidance: both would get stuck daily on random things (shoe laces, cables, even larger toys). They would drive over just about anything, it was disappointing for a flagship. - mopping: both had an issue where only one mop pad would stay wet. Now for the X60… it has not gotten stuck once over the past few weeks. It does great on carpet, mopping is good enough. What I dislike so far: - battery life sucks. Takes half a day for what Roborocks would do in 2 hours. I always felt the Roborocks moved way too fast to work well and this is the opposite. Not a huge gripe because at least it cleans and doesn’t require babysitting and it recharges fast - goes through water quickly. I haven’t figured out the right setting for floors. 15 (1-30) = half dry mop pads when mopping, 16 = very wet floor to start, pads dry out toward the end. No consistency. They supposedly have a water line hookup that I want to get for it. - small bin on board but haven’t noticed any issues, but I’ve seen it as a complaint. No hair clogs on rollers yet (3 women/2 dogs = lots of hair so impressed with this). - rubber on rollers are chipping. Never seen this before but could be because they actually make contact with the ground? - genius settings on app seem useless. Skips important rooms like the kitchen/dining room. Overall the X60 is way better in my opinion. It cleans and doesn’t get stuck which are my two needs.

r/Roborock · Should I upgrade from S8 Pro Ultra to Roborock Qrevo Curv 2 Flow? The S8 will vacuum much, much better but require a bit more maintenace. The CurvX will mop better and require a bit less maintenance. The ideal solution is to use them both. Vacuum first with your S8 and then mop with the Curv. Better yet, split the vacuuming tasks between the two and get done faster. Leave the rugs and carpets to the S8 and the hard floors to the Curv, because anything does reasonably well on hard floors. Then the Curv can finish up with all the mopping. I speak from experience. I use five S8s to speed vacuum our entire house and garage in 36 minutes. Then a pair of Saros 10Rs follow up with all the mopping. The bottom line is that if a robovac has a modern mopping system and auto detangling rollers, it will not vacuum nearly as well as your existing S8 set to Max. This is because modern mopping systems take up a lot of space inside a robovac. Because of this, dustbins became tiny. This in turn reduced airflow even though the newer models have higher suction. One needs both good suction and good airflow in order to vacuum well. Auto detangling rollers do not agiate rugs and carpets as well, and do not kick up debris as well as the old fashioned solid rubber rollers. Combined with poor airflow, this leads to a significantly reduced vacuuming capability. Personally, I would choose a CurvX instead. Roller mops are pretty cool, but they require a lot of maintenance and are prone to all sorts of problems. I think in a year or two, roller mops will be better perfected. They have not been yet! For my taste, I will stick with spinning mops for now. I hope this helps!
r/RobotVacuums · Which roller mop for 1st robot vacuum? Vacuuming makes noise. Mopping with spinning mops usually does not. Our Saros 10R is super quiet. It just does not vacuum rugs and carpets well. It does everything else very well. I would focus on quiet but not too quiet if vacuuming ability is important to you. Too quiet usually means insufficient airflow and poor vacuuming. We have several robovacs. The loudest ones vacuum the best by far. Our quieter ones are nice for that reason, but they just do not vacuum as well. A quiet robovac is useless to me if I have to send in a louder one to finish the job the quieter one could not do well. All of them are far quieter than any conventional vacuum cleaner. I hope this helps!
r/Roborock · Roborock Saros 10R and Eufy Omni e28 one week review My 10R can be set for a square feet without any problem. It has been since I got it. If you ever have a hard time vacuuming stuff from your rugs that your other robovacs can't handle, try the S8. It vacuums like a champ, especially on its higher suction settings. It should easily outperform your 10R. I hope you enjoy your robovacs!
r/Roborock · Roborock Saros 10R(Aus) first pass review Since you have access to an S8, compare the vacuuming ability on rugs and carpets. Your 10R may do a better job mopping, but the S8 will do a noticably better job vacuuming, especially on rugs and carpets when set to a higher suction setting. I have several of the base model, charging dock only S8s with much lower maximum suction power than your S8 model. Mine beat the 10R for vacuuming every single day. That is why I continue to use my S8s for all of my vacuuming and just use the 10Rs to mop.
r/RobotVacuums · Which roller mop for 1st robot vacuum? I am going to deviate from your list almost immediately. If you want low noise, you should aim for something like the Mova V50 or Roborock Saros 10R. Personally, I would choose the Mova V50 because it vacuums much, much better, especially on rugs and carpets. Unless your floors are really dirty or you spill stuff often and expect a robovac to clean it up, all mopping systems clean very well for routine cleaning. A robovac with spinning mops is extremely quiet - much quieter than anything with roller mops. Roller mops do clean better. But, most people vacuum and mop frequently. Under these circumstances, there are no practical differences in the results between roller mops and spinning mops. Both the Saros 10R and Mova V50 mop very well. Your floors will be spotless. Roller mops are brand new. The kinks have not been worked out of this system yet and they still require much more maintenance than the fairly perfected spinning mop systems that are super quick and easy to maintain. Good mopping with any robovac is entirely dependant on good vacuuming first. If your floors are not already mostly clean from vacuuming, it is pointless to mop with any robovac. This is why I think the Mova V50 meets your needs much better than you might think based on your criteria. I hope this helps!
r/Roborock · Roborock Saros 10R and Eufy Omni e28 one week review Go to Settings and then Product Info. From there tap on Unit and you can pick either square feet or square meters. I am also in the US. North Idaho to be more specific. I understand the reasons behind your decision. They make great sense to me! I hope your robovacs serve you very well! Happy robovaccing!
r/RobotVacuums · Help me decide - yet another Dreame X50 vs Roborock Saros 10R I agree! The 10R is also a terrible vacuum cleaner compared to my $350 S8. The 10R is so bad at vacuuming that I only use it to mop.
r/Roborock · Should I upgrade from S8 Pro Ultra to Roborock Qrevo Curv 2 Flow? What any upgrade on your part will mean is that any model you choose from any manufacturer will not vacuum nearly as well as your S8, but it will mop better and be easier to maintain. There are always tradeoffs and compromises. I have been fighting this same battle for two years. I tried eight different high end models. None came close to the vacuuming performance of the S8. The one that came the closest was the Mova V50. However, it struggled with cat litter on hard floors. All of them were super easy to maintain and mopped very well. Ever since the new spinning mops and roller mops were introduced, there isn't enough room in any robovac for a well performing vacuuming system anymore. No one is willing to buy a robovac without one of these new mopping systems. So, manufacturers stopped making models that could vacuum well. This is the only reason my S8s still do all the vacuuming and my Saros 10Rs do all the mopping. Good luck with your decision. It is a tough one! I hope this helps!
r/Roborock · Should I upgrade from S8 Pro Ultra to Roborock Qrevo Curv 2 Flow? I no longer have the V50. I returned it. Even it did not vacuum as well as my S8s. However, it did vacuum far better than my 10Rs and mopped better than the 10Rs too. If I could have returned the 10R instead of the V50, I would have kept the V50. I really wanted to keep the V50. Since the S8s still vacuumed better on rugs and carpets, there was no reason to keep the V50 so it went back. The V50 vacuums better on rugs and carpets than any other model I tried that has a modern mopping system. It did struggle with cat litter on hard floors. I hope this helps!
r/Roborock · Saros 10R - 1 Year Review Update You should not have replaced the vacuum roller for vacuuming performance. The S7s do a great job with hair on rugs and carpets with the factory solid rubber rollers. I think this was a mistake. Otherwise, as an owner of two 10Rs, I completely agree with you. It mops well but is a mediocre vacuum cleaner at best. This is why I do all of my vacuuming with S8s. Thanks for your thoughts! I enjoyed reading your post very much!

r/Roborock · Saros 10R - 1 Year Review Update If you want a tip for the hair pickup, split all your floors into multiple zones/rooms on your map, and then use a routine to clean them all at once, after each zone, it will empty the dustbin and wont get filled up, I find that the frequently empty settiong usually isnt frequent enough. Also in your dock settings make sure you set emptying to max power.
r/RobotVacuums · Best robot vacuum + mop for heavy pet hair (Golden Retriever + cat) If you want the best hair pickup, its probably the dreame l50 ultra, but if you want something reliable, maybe go with a high end option from roborock (like the 10r). One of the biggest tips I can give when you have a ton of hair, is that you should split basically even large rooms into smaller zones, and use a routine to make it clean, so after each zone it goes back and empties the dock. usually the default frequently empty does not empty often enough too keep up with the amount of hair that sometimes is on the floor.
r/RobotVacuums · Dreame x50 or Roborock Qrevo Maybe wait for a sale on the roborock curvx or saros 10r, roborock usually has higher build quality then dreame/mova imo
r/RobotVacuums · Dreame X50 Ultra Reviews Personally, I’ve had a lot less issues with roborock, their robots, and their custom service (not saying it’s amazing, it’s just better then the others) If your budget is around the x50 ultra, you should probably get the roborock curvX if you want slightly better cleaning ability, and the saros 10r if you want a lot better obstacle avoidance.

r/Roborock · Roborock Saros 10 vs 10R vs Z70 – What the Reviews Say, What the Roborock Representatives Told Me, and Why I Ended Up Choosing the 10 (also abit about robot testing and why I find it extremely weird and inconsistent) StarSight has better resolution, I find it difficult to believe Roborock was forced to use solid state vs analog for navigation. The new system is leaps and bounds ahead of the older tech. The Z70 and 10R are essentially the same, just one obvious difference. Not sure how the Z70 can be the “best” while the 10R is third place. IMO, all three of these units are flagship, they offer different feature sets based on customers needs and wants. Roborock doesn’t do the best job offering a clear direction with their product lineup, too many SKUS and small differences between them. I personally own a 10R, I had a few other high end Roborock units over the past two months. There’s a clear difference between 360 LiDAR and StarSight, the old system was pretty darn good, it was confident and quick, but mirrors, and baby gates were not detected due to the technologies limitations. The new StarSight with the most recent firmware is incredible, it sees and reacts to everything, mirrors and gates are no problem, also, the system appears to learn, it took 3 attempts to use ramps into and out of our bedroom, the other units never acted this way. At the end of the day, navigation is king. From my opinion, StarSight is a flagship feature, because of this, I suggest anyone buying a 1,600+ device, make sure it has StarSight. Don’t trust any navigation issue comments posted before last week, the new firmware is darn near perfect.
r/Roborock · Roborock Saros 10 vs 10R vs Z70 – What the Reviews Say, What the Roborock Representatives Told Me, and Why I Ended Up Choosing the 10 (also abit about robot testing and why I find it extremely weird and inconsistent) We’re not forgetting.. the floppy drive, CRT, SCSI, IR, Ethernet were all “tested, refined and proven” for many years. New technology comes and goes, we’re in the middle of something new. More resolution, equals better results in houses. I’m happy we’re both happy with our purchases, both units are great.

r/Roborock · Saros 10R 24 Hour Review I just unboxed and am running now. I have 3 Austrian Shepard's and it seems to be doing great at handing the hair, which was my #1 priority. r/Roborock · Saros 10R 24 Hour Review I just brought it upstairs. Dropped it down. Turned on the "multi-floor feature". Let it do it's quick map. Then ran it for a clean. Now when I bring it up there and hit the clean button, it automatically recognizes its on the second floor and loads the map for that floor. When it's done it returns to the place where it started.
r/Roborock · Saros 10R 24 Hour Review So they do have a "raise body to clean carpet" mode - I just tested it and it basically uses the new "jump over the threshold" system to put the entire vacuum higher up over the floor. It's hard to tell but it seems like the actual brush stays at the regular height, relative to the machine, (so higher up off the floor but still engaged) -- so it will still "brush" the carpet. But potentially it makes it more delicate since it's raised up? Not sure. That would be kind of a cool feature though - to just use air, no brush for delicate areas and I'd imagine doable through firmware.
r/Roborock · Saros 10R 24 Hour Review Going into it I knew there was going to be a trade off. I wasn't sure which was going to be better but I assume that the 10R system is the way going forward and they'd work on updates more for it. Whether that happens or not is another thing. I guess I just expected it to be a bit better out of the box.. but who knows - again its 24 hours, for all I know it never gets tangled again.
r/Roborock · Saros 10R 24 Hour Review Not that I'm aware of. You can zone clean vacuum only (this leaves the mops behind with the right setting) but it doesn't allow you to pull the brush up.
r/Roborock · Saros 10R 24 Hour Review Performance as far as pickup and mopping is excellent. I haven't had to clean dog hair out of the brushes once and it does a significantly better job of getting hair out of the carpet. The bin size and water tank sizes on the dock are pretty frustrating though. I have to change the tank water every 3 days.. whereas my S7 maxv could go nearly a week and a half. It's a combination of the water tank being smaller and it uses way more water than the s7. Similarly the dustbin is too small - weekly I'll bring it to my second floor and let it run, I have to run it twice because it will fill the bin on the first run. Obstacle avoidance is okay. It works for dog toys and works.. too good lol.. For things like leaves, it goes around them, when it could easily suck them up, which is annoying. It doesn't work for cables with me well at all. My wife has a keyboard with foot peddle and it was constantly getting stuck on the cord, pulling the mop pad off. I had to no-go zone that area. I also have a floor fan with a wire that runs across the floor a bit and it got stuck on that a few times too. I tested it on my carpet with both s black and white USB cable on a tan carpet.. it ran over both every time so idk. None of the updates improved this for me. Overall I still really like it mostly because the hair pickup on carpets with no tangles is so so so good.
r/Roborock · Saros 10R 24 Hour Review No but then I haven't really had it long enough yet - the first few days I was obviously playing with it a lot lol so it went through a lot of water. Today was the first day I kind of just been letting it be normal and run the daily routine thing. I will say that I have updated to the latest firmware and I still find the obstacle avoidance to be pretty mid. It got stuck on wire again this morning and once again lost a mop pad and stopped.
r/Roborock · Saros 10R 24 Hour Review Yeah they have a setting for dust-bin auto empty which I set to high and I'm hoping that it's frequent enough but I know with my S7 Max, if I didn't run it often enough or split the rooms up, it was a problem. They keep making these bins smaller and smaller, to presumably fit larger motors and stuff but idk. I guess someone has a dustbin full sensor patent still?
r/Roborock · Saros 10R - 1 Year Review Update Presumably the Saros 20 fixes some of the issues I've experienced - For example the side brush arm is beefier and probably doesn't fail like mine has (i mean some people even with the 10R don't have the failures I have). It also has 'upgraded' Starsight - so hopefully won't get trapped as often as mine does. I don't know if it fixes the bin design though - as that's been a problem on previous Q Revos to the 10R, so it seems like Roborock just doesn't care to fix it. And like I said, I think my experience with the bot has mostly been sullied by the arm failing and now not working. I think I'd be much more positive about the product if that didn't happen, despite the other issues. \_ There's obviously other brands that compete - Narwhal/Dreame/etc - those might not have these issues but a different set of them.. for me, Dreame - I bought a X40 I think it was, it literally stopped working within the week and Dreame gave me such a hard time with it, that I just said fuck it I don' want it anymore and returned it. But there's probably people that had amazing experiences with Dreame.
r/Roborock · Saros 10R - 1 Year Review Update The brush in the front not the mop is what keeps breaking for me. The first time was about 6 months after buying it - I think it was june/july last year. It started clacking and wouldn't spin or extend. Same thing happened again about 2 months ago. - identical issue, clacking noise wouldn't spin or extend. This time I got it back and it worked fine for about 2-3 weeks but now it won't extend. It makes a noise like it's trying to do it but it doesn't actually extend. Tried resetting, turning the feature on/off, etc. I've seen other people in this sub with the same problem but i've also seen other people that have had the robot for just as long with no issue - so not really sure what causes it or why I've had it so many times. My dog doesn't interact with the bot and it has no physical damage at all anywhere on it. Only thing i can think of is maybe dog hair is getting inside the motor somehow or i just have more crevasses than other people... lol - the next time it fully fails i'll probably end up replacing it myself (its not under warranty anymore) and be able to tear down the motor to see what's happening.
r/Roborock · Saros 10R 24 Hour Review Yes I'm still satisfied but there are definitely areas the robot lacks and things I don't think I see often spoken about. For starters the bin size is effecting me more than i thought. As I wrote in the original post, I have a long haired German Shepherd dog and he sheds a fair amount. I manually move my vacuum the second floor about once a week, sometimes longer. The bin is too small so it fills up entirely and hairfluff gets jammed coming out of the suction hole. But not only is the bin small, the design doesn't allow it to fill the bin. I've basically never seen the bin entirely full, it's always 80% or so full with gaps on the edges. I've looked around a bit and apparently this is a known issue and it was an issue on the previous Q8 I think? It's not the end of the world - I clean it out run it again and/or try to bring it to the second floor more often. I personally find the object avoidance worse than my S7 MaxV. On top of it being worse (in terms of colliding with objects) the design of the spinning mops makes it more likely to stop the run. Basically my S7 Max V would occasionally run over stuff -- but it would continue going. The mop pad wouldn't get bulled off. The Saros 10R not only seems to hit more objects, but when it does the mop pad often gets pulled off and requires intervention. This is a little frustrating - that being said I know someone else with the 10R that doesn't have this problem. I really think this has to do with the surface types/colors. I have dark grain hardwood floor and a geometric carpet. I think it struggles on this. I find it not only uses more water but the water in is smaller, requiring slightly more maintenance than my S7 Max V. \_\_ That being said I LOVE the anti-tangle brush. 3 Months and I haven't had to clean the brush one time. It's literally perfect for me. It mops/vacuums significantly better than my S7 MaxV. Especially on carpets (especially especially pulling dog hair off carpets). It cleans corners better. Gets under more objects because it's smaller. It's just way way better at cleaning in general. It's super quiet, way quieter than the S7 MaxV. The dock maintenance is significantly better. It does a better job self cleaning but also when you have to manually clean having the ability to just pull the tray out is awesome. Overall I really like it - I probably won't be upgrading for 2-3 generations as this really fixed the hair problem which was my biggest issue with the last vacuum. I don't really care for the arm pickup stuff - I'd rather them try to design vacuums that clean/climb stairs personally. FWIW I had a Dreame and had a problem with it and their support turned me off their whole company. Roborock might be just as bad but I've had 3 roborocks with no issues.
r/Roborock · Saros 10R 24 Hour Review I think it really depends on your usecase. If you don't have any pets, keep the room really tidy (no dog toys/clothes/random stuff on the floor/etc) and don't mind emptying/filling the water/dustbin.. then probably not. I don't think the actual pickup and mopping abilities of these robots have increased that much in the past several generations. Mopping a bit moreso because they basically scrub now but generally speaking the s5 max will mop at 85-90% for most normal stuff while this will do 95-98%. ___ The real benefits of these newer machines for my home is that when I go to bed at night, I don't have to worry that my dog left a few of his toys on the floor and I forgot about them. It navigates around them. I don't have to manually clean the brush everyday couple days of dog hair - it gets no tangles. I don't have clean the bin everyday of dog hair, it gets sucked out into a bag automatically. Cleaning performance is better.. but it's not like twice as good or anything. It's probably like a 15% improvement over the s5 - under normal circumstances (obviously if you have coffee stains all over your floor or a lot of dirt in corners for some reason then it's going to be more than that.. but how often is that happening?) So I think it just really depends on your household and what kinds of issues you're running into. For me it was a massive upgrade.
r/Roborock · Saros 10R 24 Hour Review For me yes but I say that mostly because of the tangle free vacuuming of pet hair and the improved pickup of it on carpets. I was tired of cleaning out the old one and so far with this I have zero tangles. If that wasn't a concern I probably wouldn't upgrade.
r/Roborock · Saros 10R 24 Hour Review No? That's weird lol.. I didn't scan the QR code on setup though I manually chose it.
r/Roborock · Saros 10R 24 Hour Review I never owned the Q Revo Curv so I'm not sure. I know this has a newer nav/obstacle system (see the review for my opinion it so far)... slightly more suction power? Not sure what else is different. I think they are probably pretty similar - at least on paper they seem to be.
r/Roborock · Saros 10R 24 Hour Review Yeah I didn't really consider this going into it. I didn't mention in the review but in my room I hide a weight scale under my bed that it decided to try to climb over (my old ones wouldn't even attempt it) and for a second I thought it got stuck, but it managed to unstick itself. I just set that as a no-go zone as well.
r/Roborock · Saros 10R 24 Hour Review Yeah I generally agree - I kind of knew going into it that it wouldn't be perfect and honestly one of the reasons I bought it was that I figured they'd work more on updates with this new system than the older one. The cables I kind of understand can be tricky - especially the keyboard one, it's a black cable on a dark colored floor. The sock is weird though - white sock on a brown rug.. and it didn't just tap it and move it, it ran it over and got stuck. I guess I just expected it to be a bit better than it is out of the box.

r/Roborock · Roborock Saros 10 vs 10R vs Z70 – What the Reviews Say, What the Roborock Representatives Told Me, and Why I Ended Up Choosing the 10 (also abit about robot testing and why I find it extremely weird and inconsistent) Wouldn't the 12N of pressure be consistent when the mops are spinning? Jamie Andrews noted that the mopping on the spinning pads of the 10R are even compared to the 10 where mopping was concentrated on the vibration modules (https://youtu.be/z7DW-mx-TRs?t=219). Andrews also noted that the dock for the 10R is not only easier to clean as it is entirely removable, but also cleans the spinning mops better on the third cleaning cycle when compared to the 10 on the third cleaning cycle. I'm excited to see all the new cute robots come out (notably Narwal and Dreame)
r/RobotVacuums · How is Roborock Saros 10r working out for everyone Unfortunately I think you’ll have to set the Saros 10r and any other robot vacuums to avoid the wool rug as robot vacuums generally cannot handle that. I’d see if the Dyson VisNav 360 (at 349, not its recommended retail price) is available for your carpeted floors and maybe the rug. I’d return the Saros 10R and see if the Saros 10 with the vibrating mop is more your style :)
r/Roborock · Roborock Saros 10 vs 10R vs Z70 – What the Reviews Say, What the Roborock Representatives Told Me, and Why I Ended Up Choosing the 10 (also abit about robot testing and why I find it extremely weird and inconsistent) In your post you stated that: >The 10 is technically the newer one as they have been out in China and there is a reason why they reverted back to lidar which he didn’t tell me but he said it has more suction power, a slightly better dock, and better mopping because it can put about 1kg of pressure on the floor when there are tough stains. To calculate the pressure on the floor, we refer back to our middle school physics class and use the formula F=ma F=(9.81 m/s^(2))1 kg F=9.81 N of mopping pressure The 12 N of mopping is about 1.22 kg of pressure. This is in line with most Narwal robot mops, such as the Freo Pro (https://youtu.be/pIjqGrdLoTE?t=211). Of course, mop design and materials matter and Roborock mops are rather plush (I noticed better mopping on my dreame-made Xiaomi robot when using the roborock Saros 10R mops). As for self-cleaning, I think it is a really important aspect for some consumers as it will mean a cleaner home will be more physically accessible.

r/RobotVacuums · Mova V50 Ultra: Honest Review Price was the deciding factor for me. On prime day the mova was 949 and the saros was 1279. Factor in that I would need a 3 year warranty with the saros which would add another 129 dollars and then the 150 worth of free stuff mova sends you, it just didnt make sense to get the saros
r/RobotVacuums · Prime Day Recommendations by Price Band - These are the robots I'd buy But that's the odd thing about the Amazon reviews, a good majority of them start positive and then the reviewers go back and say to stay away. Im really torn what to do here because we really want to replace our s7 max and was really leaning saros s10r or ecovacs d9 then I saw the 3i s10 and based on reddit decided to stay away from the ecovacs. I feel like the saros 10r is the safe choice but hate that it's not a great discount.

r/RobotVacuums · Help me decide - yet another Dreame X50 vs Roborock Saros 10R Save your money and go with last year’s Dreame X40 with the tri-cut brush roller. I have the Saros 10R. It’s a PITA. Gets stuck all the time under cabinets and in odd places. It’s a poor performer compared to my S8 MaxV Ultra. The OA only works in SmartPlan mode, otherwise you get nothing. I also have the X40. It’s still a good bot with decent battery life and good obstacle avoidance. And you’d be saving a ton of money.

r/Roborock · Roborock Saros 10 vs 10R vs Z70 – What the Reviews Say, What the Roborock Representatives Told Me, and Why I Ended Up Choosing the 10 (also abit about robot testing and why I find it extremely weird and inconsistent) I have both the 10 and 10R and a Z70 I haven't opened yet. It's a tricky one – both are excellent cleaners but I prefer the 10R's mops to the 10's mopping pad, though I rarely mop. I also like the sleek looks of the 10R robot unit but much prefer the look of the 10 dock with its hidden water containers and push-to-open bin door. Both have good obstacle avoidance but only when the 'pet' option in settings is applied (it's off by default). However, my biggest deciding factor with robot vacs of all kinds is how well they empty their bins as I have four shedding animals at home. In this regard I've had issues of the dock blocking with the 10R, incomplete emptying and dust collection around the bag interface area. The 10 has been fine to date. So, given this and a few other things, I'd say the 10 just swings it.
r/Roborock · Saros 10R 24 Hour Review You brought up some great points. It is very quiet for a start. I had the same obstacle avoidance issue with a small nylon dog bone and then spotted the 'Pet' option under 'Obstacle Avoidance' in settings and it's avoided the bone every time. And you're right, the bin is too small if you have shedding pets. I'd rather not have mopping and one huge 5-litre bin bag. Great bot all the same.

r/Roborock · Roborock Saros 10 vs 10R vs Z70 – What the Reviews Say, What the Roborock Representatives Told Me, and Why I Ended Up Choosing the 10 (also abit about robot testing and why I find it extremely weird and inconsistent) Appreciate the wall of text, but let’s not pretend I’ve been out here spreading misinformation just because I didn’t pick the same vacuum as you. Everything I’ve said is based on established reviewers — people like Just a Dad Reviews, The French Glow, Jamie Andrews, and several major EU testing sites. These aren’t random TikToks or paid promos — they’re real comparisons with consistent test setups. And yes, the Saros 10 outperformed the 10R in multiple real-world mopping and cleaning tests. That’s not opinion — that’s results. I’m not twisting anything. I even acknowledged the 10R’s easier-to-clean dock and stronger edge detection. But I’m not gonna ignore the fact that the 10 is a better overall cleaner in most side-by-sides. If that bothers you, maybe ask yourself why you need so hard for it not to be true. And as for the water tank comment — that was based on the specs available at the time, before the 10R was even confirmed for AU. If you’re reaching back to old info to build your “gotcha” moment, you’re kinda proving my point. Anyway, I’m not here to convert anyone. I picked the vacuum that worked better for me based on facts, not brand loyalty or Reddit emotion.
r/Roborock · Roborock Saros 10 vs 10R vs Z70 – What the Reviews Say, What the Roborock Representatives Told Me, and Why I Ended Up Choosing the 10 (also abit about robot testing and why I find it extremely weird and inconsistent) fair enough — appreciate the clarification. That said, pressure and RPM are just part of the equation. The Saros 10 might not spin, but with its higher contact area, stable downward force, and better coverage, it still consistently performs better in actual mopping tests — like the ones from Just a Dad Reviews and French Glow. Jamie Andrews even said the same thing until he leaned toward the 10R for future tech, not cleaning. So yeah, specs are great, but I’m going off how these things actually clean in the home, not just on paper. But thanks, great discussion
r/Roborock · Roborock Saros 10 vs 10R vs Z70 – What the Reviews Say, What the Roborock Representatives Told Me, and Why I Ended Up Choosing the 10 (also abit about robot testing and why I find it extremely weird and inconsistent) I watched both videos you linked. That’s two sources claiming the 10R edges out the 10 — cool, noted. But here’s the thing: I’m not ignoring them. I just don’t build my whole argument off one or two reviews and call it fact. You want to talk testing? Vacuum Wars’ results were so far off the median based on my own comparisons, they’re a straight-up outlier — statistically and practically. Even Vacuum Nerds showed the 10R slightly better in mopping but worse in vacuuming — so if anything, that’s a tie. You also ignore the OTA firmware improvements that dramatically improved 10R nav, which weren’t present in earlier tests — so let’s apply the same grace to the Saros 10, which hasn’t even received its OTA tuning yet. Here are just a few sources that put the 10 ahead: • The French Glow – preferred the 10 based on mopping consistency and vacuuming performance • Just a Dad Reviews – clearly picked the 10 as the better all-rounder • Gizmodo – says the 10 is the better option for deep cleaning • Digital Trends – gives the edge to the 10 overall • A German/EU comparison site (can’t find the link again) had the 10 ahead in total debris pickup Also — this whole “corner mop” superiority thing? Not backed. Both models hit the same edge coverage in multiple tests. The “mini pad is a joke” line is just made-up marketing bias. At the end of the day, I’ve shared more reviewers, more sources, and more balanced takes than you have — while you’ve done nothing but accuse me of bias and repeat the same talking points over and over like a broken record. I picked the vacuum that cleaned better — period. You’re the one trying to turn this into some moral crusade because someone had a different take than yours. Touch grass.
r/Roborock · Roborock Saros 10 vs 10R vs Z70 – What the Reviews Say, What the Roborock Representatives Told Me, and Why I Ended Up Choosing the 10 (also abit about robot testing and why I find it extremely weird and inconsistent) Alright, let’s get something straight — you keep saying “the 10R does better in most reviews,” but you haven’t actually named one. Meanwhile, I’ve referenced multiple established reviewers like French Glow, Just a Dad Reviews, and Jamie Andrews, who all compared both and either preferred the 10 or said it outperformed the 10R in cleaning. If you’re gonna call me biased for sharing actual sources, at least come with something concrete instead of “bro you just picked who agrees with you.” And the idea that I’m spreading “misinformation” because I don’t talk about some invisible corner-mopping advantage is just reaching. These reviewers ran real tests, not marketing slides. If none of them found this “major difference” you’re talking about, maybe it’s not that big of a deal. You can keep saying I’m trying to convince myself — but from the outside, it looks more like you’re trying to convince yourself I made the wrong choice. Sorry that you’re this pressed over someone choosing a different vacuum. If you’ve actually got a review — not a comment, not a hunch, an actual review — that puts the 10R clearly ahead overall, drop it below. Otherwise, I’ll stick with the facts.
r/Roborock · Roborock Saros 10 vs 10R vs Z70 – What the Reviews Say, What the Roborock Representatives Told Me, and Why I Ended Up Choosing the 10 (also abit about robot testing and why I find it extremely weird and inconsistent) What people forget is that LiDAR is a far more mature tech. It’s been tested, refined, and proven reliable for years — not just by Roborock, but across the industry. There’s a reason Ecovacs’ flagship (X2) and Dreame’s top-tier models also stuck with LiDAR. Even in China, Roborock launched the Saros 10R first, then came out with the Starsight-based version 7 months later. That says something. There’s definitely a reason behind that delay — something we don’t fully know yet. Bottom line: the 10 is cleaner-focused, mature tech optimized to work hard. Starsight is cool, but it’s not the full picture — and newer doesn’t always mean better. I wanted something that was going to work straight out of the box and I wouldn’t need an upgrade for.
r/Roborock · Roborock Saros 10 vs 10R vs Z70 – What the Reviews Say, What the Roborock Representatives Told Me, and Why I Ended Up Choosing the 10 (also abit about robot testing and why I find it extremely weird and inconsistent) Fair point — I get the floppy drive reference, but the difference is LiDAR isn’t some outdated legacy tech barely hanging on. It’s still being used in everything from autonomous cars to industrial mapping — and in robot vacs, it’s proven to be reliable, consistent, and maintenance-friendly. Starsight’s definitely the future, no doubt. But we’re in the transition phase, and right now, it’s still working through real-world quirks. LiDAR just works — day one, no training wheels no updates. Glad we’re both happy with our units though — in the end, it’s about what works best for your setup. Solid discussion.
r/Roborock · Roborock Saros 10 vs 10R vs Z70 – What the Reviews Say, What the Roborock Representatives Told Me, and Why I Ended Up Choosing the 10 (also abit about robot testing and why I find it extremely weird and inconsistent) I backed up my choice with test results, hands-on experience, and info directly from the Roborock rep. If that feels like overjustifying to you, maybe it’s just because I didn’t land on the same model you did. And for the record, I was actually going to get the 10R — until the Roborock rep told me the 10 is the better all-round cleaner. More pressure, better coverage, and fewer trade-offs. That info came straight from the source, not from spec sheets. Also, when I said the 10R wasn’t coming to Australia, it genuinely wasn’t confirmed at the time. Roborock AU hadn’t listed or announced anything. Sorry I didn’t wait for a fortune cookie before sharing what was known then. I picked what worked better for now — not because it launched first, but because it cleaned better. That’s literally the point of these discussions.
r/Roborock · Roborock Saros 10 vs 10R vs Z70 – What the Reviews Say, What the Roborock Representatives Told Me, and Why I Ended Up Choosing the 10 (also abit about robot testing and why I find it extremely weird and inconsistent) you’re acting like I’m on some mission to convince the world the 10 is better and it’s not just me go to the French glows comments he asked someone at ces and they said the 10 is superior — I’m literally just sharing what I’ve seen, tested, and heard directly from Roborock reps. If that somehow threatens your 10R purchase, that’s a you problem. Calling the Saros 10’s mop “a sock on two fingers” is just over-the-top. The pad isn’t “ridiculously small” — it actually has more surface contact than the spinning pads, which don’t cover as much ground in one pass. You’re confusing visible movement with actual performance. And seriously, if you want proof, literally just watch Just a Dad Reviews. He tested both and preferred the Saros 10 over the 10R — not because of marketing, but based on how they cleaned. There are multiple reviewers saying the same thing, but sure, let’s pretend they all just sprinkled some dirt for fun and called it a day. You keep saying “both are great,” but then spend the whole comment bashing one. So which is it? You don’t like the tests, the mop, the dock… but somehow there’s “no big difference”? Right.
r/Roborock · Roborock Saros 10 vs 10R vs Z70 – What the Reviews Say, What the Roborock Representatives Told Me, and Why I Ended Up Choosing the 10 (also abit about robot testing and why I find it extremely weird and inconsistent) Appreciate the physics refresher, but I literally said about 1kg of pressure — which your calc just confirmed. So not sure what you were trying to correct there. Also, mop performance isn’t just about Newtons — it’s about contact area, coverage, material, and how well it holds up over time. And yeah, the tests don’t lie — the Saros 10 consistently performs better in side-by-sides for actual cleaning not including Vacuum wars video. I’ve said from the start the 10R has a slightly easier dock, and that matters for some people. But I picked the 10 because it cleans better — simple as that.
r/Roborock · Roborock Saros 10 vs 10R vs Z70 – What the Reviews Say, What the Roborock Representatives Told Me, and Why I Ended Up Choosing the 10 (also abit about robot testing and why I find it extremely weird and inconsistent) Yeah I’m not really sure what you’re getting at with the “undersized” mop comment — if you actually look at the test footage and real-world comparisons, both the Saros 10 and 10R have the same edge coverage. The 10’s pad isn’t tiny at all remember its not the s8— and both models are designed to trap dirt and then wash it off at the dock. Also, wouldn’t the 10R’s *spinning mops* technically have **less** surface contact overall, The Saros 10 actually has a bigger mop contact area, so by your logic, that would make the 10 better. worth remembering that the real cleaning power comes from that consistent contact pressure and how well the dock maintains the pads, not just the size of the cloth itself.

r/Roborock · Saros 10R 24 Hour Review I got mine today and have been impressed but have more tests to run. When I unboxed it this morning, there was a firmware update from 2.25.20 to 2.26.26. Now, just a few hours later, another firmware update launched 2.35.58. Seems like a big jump, so maybe it will fix a bunch of issues. I believe the object avoidance will surpass the turret style. Remember, this is the same system they are putting into their flagship bot.

r/Roborock · Thinking about getting the Saros 10r on Prime Day So I’ve had my saros 10r for about a year now, and although I like it, I recently replaced it at my other house with a dreame x60 max. The saros is actually a really good bot, but I had issues with it, getting stuck underneath beds and a few other things here and there. The only reason I got the dreame is because I found it on marketplace for a dramatic deal ended up buying it and it performs slightly better than the 10 R otherwise I would’ve bought another narwal flow 2. Now, in terms of value, I don’t think I could justify buying another saros10r especially for the price it’s at when I’m currently running a narwal z10 ultra upstairs and it works phenomenal, I want to stay out of all the rotary mop robots I’ve owned. It’s probably the best, my friend ended up switching out her saros z10 (which is just the saros 10r but with a robotic arm) for a z10 turbo and she’s ecstatic with how it performs, especially because it can avoid getting stuck on her babies, highchair and toys, unlike the saros.

r/Roborock · Thinking about getting the Saros 10r on Prime Day For whatever it’s worth, I’ve been using mine for about a month now with minimal issues. Normal robot vacuum stuff - having to remap once or twice, change some settings, change some surface types. I think the worst of it was I had a rattling noise, which ended up going away after I cleaned and cut long hair off of the rollers. Works well in all the other ways I care about - it’s my first mop robit, but it’s picking up plenty in the dirty water tank each time.

I personally prefer roborock's app, it has a few more customizations, but that's really just personal opinion and does not mean the ecovacs app is bad. For actual maneuverability, the saros is better at obstacle avoidance (which you might not need), can cross higher thresholds, and is slimmer so it can better fit under furniture and toe kicks. The only issue is that both those robots are limited to around 2000-2500 sq ft per map, so if it's a single floor it might cause an issue. The closest alternative would be the Qrevo Curv X (also called the QX Revo Ultra at Costco). It's rated for 400sq meters (approx. 4300 sq ft) so that should definitely cover your space. I haven't tested this model, but it's very similar to the 10R but lacks the better obstacle avoidance. Hope this helps and let me know if you have any other questions!
r/RobotVacuums · Black Friday Week Tips/Recommendations from a Robot Tester. If you want the best hard floor pickup, the Saros 10R would be the best option. It still has great mopping, but it's not the best overall. If you want the best mopping, go with the Ecovacs X8 Pro Omni. Its hard-floor pickup is great, but not as good as the Saros 10R. Unfortunately there's no "one size fits all" robot that exists, so you have to weigh the pros and cons. The Saros 10R is excellent for hard floor (9.5), just okay for high pile (7/10) and low pile (6.5) carpet, and bad for pet hair on carpet (5/10). The S8 Max V is more balanced with great hard floor pickup (8/10) and pet hair on carpet pickup (8/10), and good high pile (7.5/10) and low pile (7.5/10) pickup performance. The Saros 10R beats the S8 in mopping and obstacle avoidance. The Qrevo Slim is kind of an in-between of the Saros 10R, with the same mopping system and an earlier version of the more advanced navigation and obstacle avoidance system. It also has the same brush rollers as the S8 Max V, so it's carpet pickup and hard floor pickup would be expected to be the same. The main issue with the 10R for you would be the pet hair, since it tended to get caught in the bristles of the brush roller and get spread around our test carpet.
r/RobotVacuums · Black Friday Week Tips/Recommendations from a Robot Tester. The Saros 10r will likely be your best bet here. It's quieter than the i8 in it's "Balanced" mode , and it has a quiet mode as well. On hard floor the Saros 10r is about 57.5 dBA in it's "Balanced" mode while the i8 is 62.7 dBA in it's standard mode. It's currently the only vacuum to score a 9.5/10 on our hard floor pickup test (i8 got 6.5/10) and has an 8/10 on our mopping test. For security, there are two things you can do. If you don't need obstacle avoidance, you can get the Qrevo Curv S5X or Edge S5A (same robot, different dock), which performed similarly to the Saros 10R in hard floor pickup (9/10) and is quieter (54.7 dBA on hard floor). It removes the camera for a structured light sensor which removes the privacy risks, but in our experience that leads to awful obstacle avoidance. If you want to go the Saros 10r route, the robot needs someone physically there to authorize accessing the camera for live viewing, so you can keep that off. If you're really worried about it, the robot can still be run without an internet connection, but you'd miss out on a lot of features from the app. Best thing to do is make sure you have a strong password and contact Roborock if you see anything suspicious.
r/RobotVacuums · Prime Day Recommendations from a Robot Tester The Saros 10R might be the best option for you, since you have a large square footage, battery is going to be key as well. The Saros 10R did really well on our hard floor obstacle avoidance, but struggles on carpet (if you get one in the future). One thing, though, is that our pet waste test only uses fake poops, and not pee, so I really can't guarantee it'll be able to see it. It's best to always check beforehand. Our best robot for obstacle avoidance is the Mova P10 Pro, but it's mopping and pickup isn't as good as the Saros 10R. Hope this helps!
r/RobotVacuums · Prime Day Recommendations from a Robot Tester Since you have carpet with potential dog hair, I'd say go with the S8 Max V or the Qrevo Slim. I haven't tested the slim, but it's like an in-between model of the S8 Max V and the Saros 10R. The S8 Max V has just okay obstacle avoidance, and the Qrevo slim should have a bit better obstacle avoidance, since it has a similar system to the Saros 10R. I've had an Aussie in the past and the things I remember the most are their almost infinite loving energy, and to prepare for the furpocalyspe in spring and fall haha.
r/RobotVacuums · Prime Day Recommendations from a Robot Tester Oh that makes sense then. In our tests, we had to change all our black tape markers for object placements and replace it with grey tape to match the concrete floor because robots would think it's an obstacle. You'd need something with depth based obstacle avoidance, like the Saros 10R or the Qrevo slim. They use similar technology to FaceID on iPhone which projects a bunch of dots on objects to get their outline. With one camera, they see everything flat so they can't know what's 3D and what's not. Some robots give you the option to ignore that specific obstacle, though, but it's sometimes not a permanent fix. I believe the Eufy S1, and some Narwal models also have 3D obstacle avoidance systems as well.
r/RobotVacuums · Prime Day Recommendations from a Robot Tester Sorry I missed you before the end of the sale. Thankfully, Black friday is not too far away. I'd still suggest the S8 Max V overall since it's a bit cheaper but does a good job overall. If obstacle avoidance is not important, then the Qrevo Curv is excellent for hard floor. The Saros 10R would be my top pick for hard floor and overall right now (based on what we've tested), but it's out of your budget.
r/RobotVacuums · Prime Day Recommendations from a Robot Tester Also in Canada and I feel your pain haha. The Saros 10 still seems like a solid choice and I'm glad your happy with it! The plate mops are really not bad at all, I have the S8 Pro Ultra (the flagship from 2 years ago) and I'm really satisfied with it. Glad to hear its obstacle avoidance is working well for you! It's one of the things I wasn't sure of. The [Saros 10R ](https://i.rtings.com/assets/products/bcTkP4B1/roborock-saros-10r/pet-hair-large.jpg?format=auto)was also not great in our test compared to the [S8 Max V Ultra](https://i.rtings.com/assets/products/dAkBDOpS/roborock-s8-maxv-ultra/pet-hair-large.jpg?format=auto) due to its dual rollers. Since the 10R and the 10 have the same brush roller, their pickup performance should be pretty identical. Quick trick for the smell. Buy some mouth wash (with alcohol) and pour a capful in the empty dirty water tank before re-installing it. Makes a huge difference.

r/RobotVacuums · Prime Day Recommendations from a Robot Tester The Saros 10R has spinning mop pads, the Saros 10 is the one with the vibrating plate. That being said, they are not that bad. I personally have the S8 Pro Ultra with a plate, and it honestly does a pretty decent job (not perfect, of course). It leaves my floor shinning for the most part, and I don't mind manually cleaning stuck on stains (mostly in the kitchen).
r/RobotVacuums · Prime Day Recommendations from a Robot Tester If you're looking for a bare-bones robot with just vacuuming and no other features, it seems like the Q7 M5+ is the replacement for it the Q7 Max+ (which was a "better" version of the Q5). I haven't tested it, but I've seen some good things about the new Q series in general. For threshold climbing, prices will jump up, and dock sizes will get bigger. The Qrevo Curv and the saros 10r both climbed up to 3.8 cm in our testing, but their docks are pretty hefty. I would say the trade-off for getting the Q7 M5+ would be just having to manually lift it over the threshold.
r/RobotVacuums · Prime Day Recommendations from a Robot Tester I'd say the Saros 10R. You might still have to clean out long hair, but it's an easy process that usually takes no more than 2-3 minutes. For the over hanging cabinets, I have those as well and the Saros 10R did well with them, but only if the area wasn't too tight. My dishwasher sticks out and is like a foot away from one of the corners, so all robot vacuums usually miss that area. Play around with the obstacle avoidance and navigation settings. Sometimes they might be too sensitive, making the robot avoid going under furniture that it clearly can. **Be careful with spills. Better to clean them manually.** A lot of robot vacuums manufacturers love to show the robots going over spills in ads, but when you read the fine print of the manual, it says not to run it over liquid. If it sucks up liquid, it will void your warranty and may damage your motor. I'm not aware of any models that advertise they can go over spills without that fine print, but it's possible on exists.

r/homeautomation · Why do robot vacuums still need so much hands-on effort? (Expectation vs. Reality) I have had robot vacuums going back to the Neato D3. The progress from D3->D5 to Roborock S7 to 10R is impressive. D3 would get stuck almost daily and would need to empty the bag at least once. D5 did not get stuck as much but would fail at least 25% of the time and the bin need emptying every day. S7 was a huge step up and would need maybe an intervention once a week. Still had to empty the bin daily and then fill the water tank once a week and clean the mop pad. If I wasn't on top of the maintenance it would run for maybe 2 days at the most. 10R made it that daily runs without intervention possible. In the year of owning it, I've had to help it out maybe 5 times total out of 300 runs. The maintenance is basically emptying the dirty water once a month and filling it with fresh water twice a month. The bag can go a couple months but I replace them sooner just to keep the restriction down. Prior to the 10R, I had two of each unit that would split the house. With the 10R, it handles the entire house and takes turns on which half it vacuums and mops depending on the day of the week. Overall, they do a good job of lessing the amount of dirt and hair in the house to a significant degree. If I pull out the big vacuum, it collects much less dirt and hair if the robot runs daily. This was the biggest thing that I saw going from the older units to the 10R with the dock. Some days I would just not have time for maintenance and then it's an uphill battle. With a unit that docks, I don't skip days unless intentional which leaves little hair for a weekly full clean with an big vacuum.

r/RobotVacuums · Dreame L40 ultra ae (Australia) spare mop pads? It's early, but so far, it's very good. Small dustbin size worries me but they HAVE improved the dustbin design a bit I think over the S8 MaxV Ultra(I hate that I have to type that whole thing everytime I tal about that bot), but we will see how it works in practice yet as that has been what a lot of the complaints are about. One thing I noticed at least they have learnt not to put a flappy bit on the intake of the robot's dustbin FINALLY. (actually, can't think is the S8 had one). I might have to take back what I said about spinny mops, so far this thing mops great. Very early, it's still doing it's first clean after a quick map.
r/Roborock · After 1 Year with the Roborock Saros 10R: Great Battery, Frustrating in a Real Family Home There may be some that have no lidar at all, I dunno, but the Saros 10R is not one of them as I have one.
r/Roborock · After 1 Year with the Roborock Saros 10R: Great Battery, Frustrating in a Real Family Home It is Lidar, just not a 'tower'.
r/Roborock · Saros 10R - 1 Year Review Update Yes I know the clacking sound, I just figured it was the plastic brush arm hitting the wall as it pushed into corners. Would be good to know what's breaking in them, looks like about $120AU for a replacement part. Mine will be going back if that breaks, which I won't mind if the Saros 20's are out by then :P [https://www.amazon.com.au/Compatible-Roborock-External-Electric-Accessories/dp/B0GFP5Q3ZM](https://www.amazon.com.au/Compatible-Roborock-External-Electric-Accessories/dp/B0GFP5Q3ZM) Looks like some plastic cog and maybe a rubber belt in there that could break easily.
r/Roborock · Saros 10R - 1 Year Review Update Well seems like I'm on a similar journey. I have 2 border collies and a cat, but also now I run a doggy boarding house out of my home, so often have an avg of 8 dogs running around! Still have an old S5(bought secondhand) and this was the best bot for Vacuum/dusting. It still does a better job than any dustbot I have used but was useless for mopping. They have been going slowly downhill in dustbin size and design since, starting with the S6(got one of them in the garage too). Since the start of 2024 I have returned 2 Dreame's, a Qrevo and an S8MVU(good bot, lidar failed) and an Ecovacs X11. Finally now using Saros 10R! Just to clarify, which side brush keeps breaking? The extendable mop or the little new extendable side brushy thing? It does look pretty dinky and have already assumed it will be the first to break. But now I have turned on the "Beta" crevice cleaning, thinking it was just added recently haha. It's pretty rough on the extendable mop mechanism in that mode, but it does get in to some good gaps! I actually find it uses to little water to wash my mop pads, wish it would use a bit more as the mop pads need to be chucked in the laundry frequently, I probably swap them out once a week now, but mine do get used a LOT. Finding it ok for hair as long as I keep up the schedule, if I miss running it for a day, I have to just do a couple of rooms at a time till we catch up. I probably have to rotate the robots filter twice a week, it just clogs up too much. I'm at the stage where I would probably buy seperate vacuum and mopping bot's if they were available.
r/Roborock · Roborock Saros 10R(Aus) first pass review Your absolutely spot on. The S8 did a great job at vacuum/dusting until the bin got overfull. The base station vacuum seemed to suck the dust out of the robot filter a bit better as well. It has been sent back though due to a Lidar failure, though if this misses the mark I may rebuy one. The filter on this saros is top mounted, assumedly for some design purpose that I think has missed the mark. Yes the dual rollers on the S8 were great, zero hair problems and even if the bin did overfill it just tries to keep cramming stuff in there till it get's back to the dock. I will say the old S5 still does a better job.
r/Roborock · Roborock Saros 10R(Aus) first pass review This is the way, problem I have had in the past with this is, if the robot updates the map, it ruins the 'routine' and you have to remake it for it to work properly. Bit less dust clogging up the filter after the S5 and with further passes, maybe it just needs a few cleans to fix up the bad job the ecovacs did.
r/Roborock · Roborock Saros 10R(Aus) first pass review We will see, but all the roborocks I have had in the past have very limited scope for increased dustbin emptying, even though they go back to the dock to clean the mops every 10 minutes. In this case I think the ducted dustbin design might actually stop the base station from being able to clear the robots filter when emptying. Maybe a simple 3d Printed dustbin replacement will make this back to a useable bot?

r/RobotVacuums · How come Roomba is almost never recommended in this subreddit or anywhere that talks about robot vacuums? I've moved on from the Roomba J7+ and Braava M6 to the Roborock Saros 10R... You have no idea how much better a robot vacuum / mop can be. Less dirt on the floor, less issues navigating around, less maintenance.

r/Roborock · Should I upgrade from S8 Pro Ultra to Roborock Qrevo Curv 2 Flow? I recently updated from an S7 Max Ultra to a Curve 2 Flow and the difference is pretty awesome. I have 2 shedding dogs and one toddler and it's been great so far. I have exclusively hard floors and only a few rugs so I really appreciate the mop. It seems to actually clean the floors with the liquid vs mop the dirt around like the previous vacuum. It's the reason I chose it over the Saros 10r. I put the old S7 down in the basement, but I'm looking forward to the day they release a Saros model with a roller mop so the vacuum can get all the fun tech features. As for upgrading from the S8 Pro, my parents have the S8 MaxV Ultra and I'd consider the Curve 2 Flow an upgrade from their vac. Since you're in a carpet-free situation like mine I'd definitely recommend the Curve 2 Flow.

r/RobotVacuums · How is Roborock Saros 10r working out for everyone That is funny. I’ve tried a variety of vacuums and the z60 for me does everything well minus lower battery life but firmware is helping that and I don’t mind breaking up my jobs. The mopping is so much better than any spinning pad. As always - everyone’s needs and houses are different. The 10r was just too dumb but maybe they had fixed it in firmware and it dribbled water all over.

r/RobotVacuums · How is Roborock Saros 10r working out for everyone I too tried the 10r before returning it, it stands no chance against the roborock s7, the saros (and really, all robots after the s7) are ass. All the effort being put into mopping systems are handicapping the actual vacuuming performance, and there is no indicator of that changing anytime soon.

r/RobotVacuums · Big Deal Day Recommendations by Price Band - These are the robots I'd buy I'd only consider the Saros and Flow from this list. You're going to need to learn to sweep the floor of toys before running your robot. Your robot will avoid the toys, but in doing so, it'll also avoid a lot of your floor.
r/RobotVacuums · Help me decide - yet another Dreame X50 vs Roborock Saros 10R dreame's water tank is bigger, but it uses more water. The saros is prettier, BUT that front will show every fingerprint. That said, the nav on the 10R beats both other robots. It is more daring, fitting into more spaces. So, for me, it'd be the 10r.
r/RobotVacuums · Prime Day Recommendations by Price Band - These are the robots I'd buy Yup!!! the floor space isn't a deciding factor, nor is the carpet. I'd say that if you've got a layout that needs more navigation, use the 10r. If you've got tile, get a 10.
r/RobotVacuums · Prime Day Recommendations by Price Band - These are the robots I'd buy Ugh. Roombas. In either floor, I think the answer is an s8 MaxV Ultra or a Saros 10R. Roborock towers, i'm pretty sure, have hepa filters on the tower, and you can replace the fine dust filter on the robot itself as often as you think necessary (it should be cleaned much more often than most people do). Althought the S8 is fantastic, i think the saros might be better in the bedrooms because it uses cameras in addition to the LiDAR, and navigating under beds might be better. In either case, I think you'll be quite happy. Here's the s8: [https://amzn.to/45VQExU](https://amzn.to/45VQExU) and the 10R [https://amzn.to/44xZsHS](https://amzn.to/44xZsHS)
r/RobotVacuums · Prime Day Recommendations by Price Band - These are the robots I'd buy The 10 isn't going to go on sale, tho.... only the 10R. Now, I still think the 10 is a great vacuum, so don't be deterred. Honestly, I didn't think one was dramatically better than the other on carpet. Where I saw a difference was mopping and navigation. I prefer the vibrating mop on the 10, for sure. Don't get the deebot. If you do get the 10, here's an affiliate link to amazon, if you feel inclined. r/RobotVacuums · Prime Day Recommendations by Price Band - These are the robots I'd buy It's not that the 10 was better, they're different. Its clear that the 10 comes from the S8 line and the 10R from the Qrevo line, so it may be more familiar to you. it's got the spinning twin mop heads and upshot: no LiDAR tower. Also, I found it to be super adventurous. So yes, I think you'd be happy. Here's an affiliate link, if you do get, if you don't mind. [https://amzn.to/4lFxi4W](https://amzn.to/4lFxi4W)
r/RobotVacuums · Prime Day Recommendations by Price Band - These are the robots I'd buy oooh. that's a good note. i'll email and ask about it! They're a new brand. They started with a Kickstarter, but after I wrote about them, they started to get reviewed well by other outlets, so I think they're on the way up. Look. the 10r is also a very good robot, but not AS good, and also more expensive. Until 7/8, who knows, but that's the price they've told me, and the embargo on it dropped yesterday. but... for instance, yeedi just updated their PD prices and they got even better deals, so who knows? On 7/8 I'll try hard to do a quick update in the morning... (i would LOVE help from someone checking prices on the graph for me... happy to send a thank you in the mail).
r/RobotVacuums · I'm a robot reporter, here's my Black Friday recommendations by price band lol. I also really liked the 10R, and while I was lukewarm on a lot of Dreame bots, the X50 was honestly pretty great.
r/RobotVacuums · I'm a robot reporter, here's my Black Friday recommendations by price band I mean, the big difference between the two is the roller. I don't think its missing, they're just different. The 10R was better at nav, and I think allocated water/managed water better than the flow. BUT... the flow has a better mop, 10r is a better vacuum.
r/RobotVacuums · Big Deal Day Recommendations by Price Band - These are the robots I'd buy Because of the rug and doghair, 10R.

r/RobotVacuums · Prime Day Recommendations by Price Band - These are the robots I'd buy You can add codes to purchase even if you clicked through using my link. Promo codes are at checkout... This is a great catch. Thank you!
r/RobotVacuums · Prime Day Recommendations by Price Band - These are the robots I'd buy that's def a reasonable concern. and the Saros is a great robot at a good price rn. Most of these brands only offer a 1 year, dreame/mova is an outlier. but the X50 was ALSO great. I'm saying, don't sweat this. Close your eyes, point, and buy the one your finger lands on. Any of these 3 is going to make you happy (Although I will say, I favor the RR w R&D/3i because they'll be more hands off)
r/RobotVacuums · Prime Day Recommendations by Price Band - These are the robots I'd buy Lets start with the moon. Obviously, as I talk about it a lot, I am infatuated with the 3i S10. I have a big dog with short hair who sheds EVERYWHERE (it climbs the walls) but long hair is different. However, dogs don't just produce hair, they also produce an absurd amount of dirt and rando crap (not actual crap) on the floor. Dog toy parts, floof, mine drags in mulch from outside. Those are the sorts of things that clog most robots, and I didn't have that with the 3i, and its the ONLY one. So.... if you can afford the 1250 price, that's my top pick. Below that, it becomes a little esoteric, becuase they all do a lesser job, but that doesn't mean they do a BAD job, either. But you might need to empty them manually more often, or unclog them manually, etc. The J15 Pro Ultra by Eureka has this razor that cuts the hair, and that's nice, and overall I really liked the machine. People love the Eufy models for this application, I personally don't, but that's what makes horse races. (or dog races. I can never remember). Frankly, since the 3i came down so much in price for Prime Day (its normally much higher than other models in the premium field at $1899), I don't have to split hairs over this vs the Saros 10/10r (both more expensive) or the X50 (also more expensive).
r/RobotVacuums · Prime Day Deals get the 3i S10 Ultra. I think its the best option above 1000 anyways, but its also going to be cheaper than my #2 and 3 pick: the x50 and 10r.
r/RobotVacuums · Prime Day Recommendations by Price Band - These are the robots I'd buy Sure. Let me talk about it a little. I think the S8MVU stays that high priced because it continues to have such favor. It was most reviewers top pick (I don't have another explanation, this is a guess). And honestly, it shares most of the functionality in the Saros. Don't worry about the Pa (suction)... its not as important, by far, [https://lifehacker.com/home/how-to-choose-best-robot-vacuum](https://lifehacker.com/home/how-to-choose-best-robot-vacuum) The Saros is a jump ahead, but usually, I feel its not enough of a jump ahead to justify the 700$ difference between the S8MVU and the Saros. I think it's 300$+/- worth. So, if its within that range, go with a Saros. Now, WHICH Saros. the 10 is like the S8, and the 10R like the Qrevo. I prefer the 10 for mopping, and the 10R on navigation. It's a split. Either would likely make you happy. Bottom line: I know its a huge decision, but if you make yourself crazy overthinking it, it's not worth it. Any of these three will be great robots.
r/RobotVacuums · Prime Day Recommendations by Price Band - These are the robots I'd buy I didn't love the X9. [https://lifehacker.com/tech/ecovacs-deebot-x9-pro-omni-review](https://lifehacker.com/tech/ecovacs-deebot-x9-pro-omni-review) but... many people have. I will say, it is one of the most beautiful towers I've seen. For vacuuming, the absolute top notch, for me, was the 3i, because it vacuumed up EVERYTHING. but w/o kids, if you've just got the avg dirt and dust around, you shouldn't need that. I'm a big fan of Roborocks... I like the vacuuming on the carpet and tile, and if you get a model with extending arms, they do a decent job getting into corners (but that's not something robots are good at, generally). For $1100, which is the price of the x9, I'd get you into a 3i or a 10R (a little stretch, but not bad).
r/RobotVacuums · Prime Day Deals I only experience streaks when there were stains on the floor that didn't get completely cleaned. Otherwise, not a big problem. I didn't love the X9, but that's me.... The curv and S8 Maxv Ultra are not on sale.... and are about the price of the 10R, so you might as well get the 10R, IMO.
r/RobotVacuums · Prime Day Recommendations by Price Band - These are the robots I'd buy Both would be a good buy, but honestly? That Qrevo is good.... you'd be happy with it and it'll save you a few hundred bucks. Totally up to you, tho. Prime day sale starts 7/8. [Switchbot k10+](https://amzn.to/4lkV06z) [Saros 10R](https://amzn.to/44yu4ce)
r/RobotVacuums · Prime Day Recommendations by Price Band - These are the robots I'd buy The 10r is very new and it could be why they're not discounting it more. But I do think it's a really good choice to arrive at.
r/RobotVacuums · Prime Day Recommendations by Price Band - These are the robots I'd buy Actually I think it's pretty simple. I would go with a S8 maxv ultra or Saros 10r. And good news is that the 10r is on sale next week. But the S8 model I'm mentioning is already a year old, so you should be able to find a pretty good price. Both are fantastic on carpet and good with navigation, which to me is kind of the bigger issue, particularly in bedrooms and in particular, as these robots navigate under beds. In that way, the tenor might be better just because it has that internal lidar and the AI assisted cameras. But in terms of vacuuming, they're both pretty great.
r/RobotVacuums · Prime Day Recommendations by Price Band - These are the robots I'd buy No I just mean I agree with you. Honestly, between those three vacuums the 10 the 10r and the x50, we're talking shades of Gray.
r/RobotVacuums · Prime Day Deals Ultimately, I think you'll be happy with either. For what it's worth, there isn't a single robot above the $800 threshold that is going to run over poop. Can't say the same for vomit, but every single vacuum goes to such lengths to avoid poop that they actually avoid other things that they shouldn't. Most often. That's dog toy floor (The fluffy crap your dog pulls out of dog toys). If you use any of the links in the table above that would be super appreciated! And I'm genuinely glad it helped you. I really need to pull the trigger on home assistant. I'm just so deeply tied into Google home at this point ... I keep meaning to put aside time to start a transition and I just never get around to it.
r/RobotVacuums · Prime Day Recommendations by Price Band - These are the robots I'd buy Fine, bub, just saying your mom would love me:) So you've got two different classes of roborocks to look at. You've got the S8 maxv ultra, the curv/edge and the qrevo maxv... All around the same level of efficacy and cost. They're about a year old... And all great! Then you've got the saros 10 and 10r. Also great and have some improvements over the other class, but not enough to justify a huge change in price. I would say about $300 US dollars worth. If it's more than that, stick with something like the curve or S8.

r/Roborock · Roborock Saros 10R and Eufy Omni e28 one week review I usually check it every other day, so it has never been full yet and I don't know. The clean water tank got empty once and I did receive a notification from the app. When we had the old S7, and when the dirty water tank was full, I would get a notification.
r/Roborock · Roborock Saros 10R and Eufy Omni e28 one week review Sounds like your first floor is handled already by the eufy S1, and you want to replace one of the Roborock S7s on the second or third floor with Roborock Saros 10R? If those floors are not traveled by dogs and have not much hair or muddy prints, I would recommend the Saros 10R. Maintenance wise, it's almost none compared to the eufy e28 I have. Every week I check the brushes, mops, and mop cleaning head, and they are all clean. I replace the mops and hand wash them just in case, but I feel like it's not really necessary. However, the dirty water tank of Saros 10R smells too (I don't use any cleaning solution though). I can only smell it when I empty it, and otherwise it's sealed shut, so I don't mind it that much. However, if you want the robot to deal with muddy prints, then I would say a roller mop like your eufy S1 or the e28 would be much more effective. Yes there is a lot of maintenance, but I feel like it will handle the muddy prints a lot better than Saros 10R. I don't have dogs so I can't say. I hope this helps. Let me know if you have any specific questions.
r/Roborock · Roborock Saros 10R and Eufy Omni e28 one week review I feel like eufy uses less fresh water too, because I fill it's tank less frequently. I have roborock and eufy both set to use medium water level for most of the house. Eufy leaves a bit more water, which evaporates in about 15 mins (relatively dry climate). Eufy's dirty water tank is also a bit dirtier than roborock's, even more so after I start to use their detergent.
r/Roborock · Roborock Saros 10R and Eufy Omni e28 one week review Yep I have multiple routines too, it's a very handy function. I also wish there was an option to skip washing the mop after each task, and just use the general time gap to decide mop washing. There is an option to disable bin emptying after each task, but not mop washing. However, the robot has to return to the dock after each task, even if no emptying is turned on, and both tasks are vacuuming (no need to wash the mop).
r/Roborock · Roborock Saros 10R and Eufy Omni e28 one week review Thanks! Found the sq ft setting finally!
r/Roborock · Roborock Saros 10R and Eufy Omni e28 one week review I really want the 10R with drainage too... Waited a long time but still not released in the US :(
r/Roborock · Roborock Saros 10R and Eufy Omni e28 one week review I would say Eufy does a decent job faster. I didn't do very controlled testing, but the roller mop does have its advantage of being washed real time when cleaning. Vacuuming is slightly worse than 10R. If we want a quick run of the entire house while we are out for a walk, we really don't want to come back to the house an hour later to find only half of the house cleaned. I know 10R is going to be slower than our old S7, but didn't expect it to be almost twice as slow.
r/Roborock · Roborock Saros 10R and Eufy Omni e28 one week review I run the Eufy e28 first, hoping it would mop away some grime or food scrap on the floor, before 10R comes in and "polish" with its spinning mops. So far the combo has been doing a great job. We don't wear socks at home in the summer, and have noticed the floor much cleaner/smoother. I've seen a reddit post of someone's e28 cleaning milk spill away pretty decently, but given how little water the robot uses onboard to wash the mop, I guess it still ends up smearing the milk around a bit. We have a Tineco wet/dry vacuum (not robot) with the roller mop, which uses a lot of water to clean its mop and likely has higher suction. Compared with that, e28 is more suitable for daily maintenance. Ah I didn't see the unit setting in product info! Thought it's in the same place as S7/S8 (Settings > More Options). Thank you! Let me update the post.
r/Roborock · Roborock Saros 10R and Eufy Omni e28 one week review Thanks! The robots help keep our house clean and we rarely need to do formal vacuuming. Re the sq ft unit setting, are you also in the US? Where do you find the unit setting? I also have a S8+, and the setting is called "unit' in "More Options", but the same setting does not exist for 10R in my app. Re the vacuuming performance, yes I read on this sub that S8/Qrevo Master are the best at vacuuming due to the double roller design, so I got a S8+ for the attic which is entirely carpet. It's a great update from Roomba i7+, which takes a long time to vacuum and sometimes can't find its way back to the dock. For our main floor, we don't need great vacuuming performance, but would benefit from better obstacle avoidance and less maintenance work, so I chose 10R. But I did hesitate between 10R, Curv, and Qrevo Master for a while.

r/RobotVacuums · Prime Day Recommendations from a Robot Tester Heya, fellow RTINGS employee not-Justin here; Hmm, in regards to the models on your short list, I'd say the Ecovacs X8 Pro is a very good all-rounder: we haven't published the full review for that model (yet), but it does offer a good blend of debris pickup performance on bare floors and rugs, great navigation, and a fantastic roller mop system. That said, real-time hazard avoidance performance isn't stellar. Since you don't have pets, its mediocre hair-cleaning performance shouldn't be a massive deal. As for your other questions: 1 & 2. We've only really run one roller-mop unit through our test bench (that being the aforementioned Ecovacs DEEBOT X8 PRO OMNI), but I will say that we were extremely impressed with its stain-clearing performance. That said, it's hard for us to generalize the performance of this kind of design when we're working with such a limited sample size. After all, we've seen a lot of variability in performance for spin-mop models too: the best (Roborock Saros 10R) are very good at dealing with stains, while others, like the eufy X10 Pro Omni, really struggle. We haven't found *that* much to complain about in terms of maintenance in regards to spin mops either; most of the mid-range to high-end models we've tested have pretty effective auto-wash and dry functions though you'll still need to clean a washplate every now and then. 3. Across those price categories, the biggest differences you'll see are better obstacle detection and avoidance performance. Hardware-wise, you'll likely see structured light sensors being replaced by RGB color cameras, though that's not universal across the board. Unfortunately, actual debris pickup performance is more of a wash across different price categories. Docks can generally get a little nicer too: one of the more common features you'll see on higher-end docks is hot water jets for better mop pad cleaning, though I wouldn't say dock *reliability* increases with MSRP (not that that's something we test for).
r/RobotVacuums · Prime Day Recommendations from a Robot Tester Heya, chiming in as not-Justin but as a fellow RTINGS employee. I'll speak as an avowed fan of the Saros 10R, which does a lot of things right: navigation and obstacle avoidance are both good, the AdaptiLift chassis lifting system keeps it from getting stuck on a lot of common obstacles, and the slim design really does help if you want it to clean under couches or easy chairs. If you have mainly hardwood floors in your home, it's a very good choice (the mopping system is great too!) but honestly carpet performance is kinda meh. Has a bit of a hard time with pet hair too. If you don't need the fancy obstacle avoidance tech, the older Roborock Qrevo Curv is worth a look; unlike the Saros, it tends to run over smaller obstacles pretty often, but if you don't mind doing a bit of cleanup before letting it run (ie. tucking away charging cables, clearing away small stuff like socks or slippers left on the ground, maybe setting up no-go zones for areas you suspect might be an issue), it delivers similar cleaning performance, often at a cheaper price point since it's older. I don't want to say too much about the Dreame, largely because we haven't gotten our hands on the L50 Ultra yet - supposedly the new brushes are a big improvement versus the X50 that we did test, which as Justin mentioned, was one of our biggest gripe with it. That said, it's missing the X50's chassis lifting system, so we'd expect it to have a harder time crossing obstacles than the Roborock.

r/Roborock · Roborock Saros 10 vs 10R vs Z70 – What the Reviews Say, What the Roborock Representatives Told Me, and Why I Ended Up Choosing the 10 (also abit about robot testing and why I find it extremely weird and inconsistent) You just don't get what I and others try to get to your brain with the size of the minimop. Its not backed because it was not considered or tested. Look how all these tests are made. Is there any dried up stains on corners tested? Any old dust already attached in a slightly sticky way to the floor like it does in real life? Not that I am aware of. And now take this super tiny piece of cloth and try to manually clean the corners of your house. You will find out that it is fully absorbed with dirt after a few meters. And there is a SIGNIFICANT difference to the size of the 10R. But hey. You asked proof. I delivered. You said ok two videos that back that up but say hey your videos tell otherwise. Yeah. I could get you 2 times the amount of videos backing that up for every of yours. But I know this wont concinve you either as you will find other things that you find not fair. We get it, you are biased. From the beginning. You are fine with your choice. Got it. For everyone else who is interested in buying: make your own research but dont listen to biased OP who wants the 10 to be superior more than anything else. Consider this mini mop area of the 10 and ask yourself how much dirt would that be able to absorb before simply smearing it around. I repeat again - you dont choose wrong with either of both, they are nearly equal but 10R has a slight edge in mopping performance and does not come with the complex manual cleaning of the docking station. Case closed.
r/Roborock · Roborock Saros 10 vs 10R vs Z70 – What the Reviews Say, What the Roborock Representatives Told Me, and Why I Ended Up Choosing the 10 (also abit about robot testing and why I find it extremely weird and inconsistent) Sure you got a list of "ignore this review" from youtubers who put the 10R over the 10. But here is just one to get you started, who - oh no - states as well that the 10R has slightly better mopping performance. Looking at your history of comments you are on a mission right from the beginning to spread the message that 10 is superior to 10R and I can only guess because only the 10 was about to released to your country? I don't know. Here are two big testers international, I sticked to german reviewers since I am from germany but the conclusion is the same overall: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k-ZU6wM5w88](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k-ZU6wM5w88) [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NkHBbDCOsNE](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NkHBbDCOsNE) Stick to the facts: \- Manual cleaning the dock is required and much more complex with the 10 \- The mini side cleaning cloth of the 10 is a joke and was not tested properly by ANY of the youtubers out there, this mini surface is simply a joke and there is no test needed to conclude that this will not get the job as good as the big pad with much bigger surface to adsorb the dirt \- Navigation: No difference \- Suction power: 10R slightly above 10 but in that range its anyhow, as you confirm yourself, marketing \- 10 has a 1mL bigger internal water tank \- Cleaning performance 10R>10 according to my youtube research I've done since both were on my radar, but only SLIGHTLY so nothing I would call the 10R suprior to the 10, however when it comes to cleaning edges there is a CLEAR lead from the 10R due to the huge pad vs. minipad that, again, none of the testers took into considerations Now that's enough for me for this thread. Have a great one Warm, bye :-)
r/Roborock · Roborock Saros 10 vs 10R vs Z70 – What the Reviews Say, What the Roborock Representatives Told Me, and Why I Ended Up Choosing the 10 (also abit about robot testing and why I find it extremely weird and inconsistent) Everything you said is based on youtubers that you selected while ignoring those who spread different messages. Enough said bro. You picked the vaccum that you thought to be the top model from the first second (noone knows why but your message history speaks worlds) and since now you learn that it seems like 10R has some slight advantages over the 10 (yes, especially when mopping the 10R does slightly better in most of the reviewers and here is where you spread misinformation) you seem to need to convince yourself you did the right choice. I mean enjoy cleaning the dock and your corners because the little mopping thumb doesnt do anything valuable but smearing the dirt from the first corner to the next ones but hey .. :-)
r/Roborock · Roborock Saros 10 vs 10R vs Z70 – What the Reviews Say, What the Roborock Representatives Told Me, and Why I Ended Up Choosing the 10 (also abit about robot testing and why I find it extremely weird and inconsistent) This. Most sites prefer the 10R. Any other vaccum roboter company switched their topmodels to spinning mops as well. OP just taking some reviewers he thinks tell the story his way and supports their tests. All of these are test scenarios anyhow. To my youtube reviewer search, also only including those not sponsored, 10R was slightly superior in mopping while no difference in sucking BUT with the already mentioned drawback of 10 increased complexity when it comes to cleaning the dock. There is no difference in navigation after both have had the chance to learn the environment after a few cleans. OP just loves the 10 and wants it to be the suprior model so hard. So be it. For you. But dont tell people that is a fact, because it isnt, you were highly biased right from the beginning and seemed immune vs facts even telling people for a long time the water tank would be so much bigger in the 10. Yeah. 1mL. **It's easy: 10R > 10.** But both are the best you can buy right now. There is simply no significant difference apart from docking cleanability and yeah, as already mentioned, corner mopping. This micro-mop on the 10 really is a joke, can't concinve me of anything else and this fact none of the youtubers took into considerations as well. So easy pick. You can try to convince yourself that the 10 is superior, but in fact, it isn't. :) Enough on this stupid comparison now, cheers! Happy easter everyone!

r/Roborock · Saros 10R 24 Hour Review I've owned both (Edge not curv but they're identical besides the base). My Qrevo Edge stopped working after a month so I just returned it instead of getting it replaced under warranty and waited for the Saros 10R instead. I've had the Saros 10r for a couple days now and ran it multiple times so there may be some things i'm not aware of yet but the main things i've noticed so far is that the Qrevo had bigger tanks so you don't need to fill the tank / clean out the dirty tank as often. Qrevo obviously has a bigger base footprint as a tradeoff. The Saros mapping was better/more accurate than the Qrevo and was able to accurately depict problem areas / pets. It automatically was able to map out my shoe rack, bed, couches on the map as well as all the rooms and carpets very accurately. The Qrevo wasn't bad by any means but the Saros has definitely been slightly better. I have a little 2 inch step up going from my kitchen to living room and both had no issues dealing with it. Both the mopping and vacuuming are of similar quality from the few runs i've done but i've also not had any extreme messes either. In terms of object avoidance, my Qrevo Edge was not able to avoid some cables or other things like small pet toys my puppy would bring out at times. Once it even ran over a little log (of shit) my puppy left out for it which caused me to have to open it up and clean it out. I haven't had this issue yet with my Saros in terms of pets. Fortunately my puppy is slightly older now so it's not shitting in the house so I can't say for certain the Saros would avoid it. I primarily used the Smartplan feature for both and both are good enough to handle my 2 dogs hair with no issues. I think the Saros 10r is a very slight upgrade over the Qrevo Edge/Curv but I don't think it warrants "upgrading" if you already have a Qrevo. It's definitely less of an upgrade if you have massive areas to clean as you'll need to swap out the water tanks far more often but that's also just an expected tradeoff. I do personally think if you're in a return window it's worthwhile to do so but realistically it's a very minor difference.

r/Roborock · Thinking about getting the Saros 10r on Prime Day Yeah, i totally get why this is hard to decide, because every review says something different. I've done this with a little kid at home, and i kept my picks simple: i wanted strong mapping, stable edge behavior, and a dock routine that doesn't fail in the middle. For your floor mix, [Roborock Saros 10R](https://featherab.com/shopit?q=Roborock+Saros+10R) is usually the most practical reference point because people report fewer misses on bare wood with decent carpet performance. I'd also look at a comparable Dreame model only if you can check real-world battery life and brush wear in mixed-floor rooms, not just channel hype. I feel you, I'd test the exact map with your daughter-safe constraints before dropping money and avoid over-prioritizing YouTube review scores.
r/Roborock · Roborock Qrevo Edge 2 vs Qrevo 10R vs Saros 20 – Which one would you choose? I’d pick based on how much risk you want around moving parts, tbh. When I compare models like this, I usually separate cleaning performance from annoyance potential, because a great feature is not worth much if it creates support headaches. The [Qrevo Edge 2](https://featherab.com/shopit?q=Roborock%2BQrevo%2BEdge%2B2) is the safer pick if you want strong daily cleaning without betting everything on the FlexiArm behavior. The [Saros 10R](https://featherab.com/shopit?q=Roborock%2BSaros%2B10R) makes more sense if edge reach is your top priority and you are fine accepting more mixed owner reports. I’d only lean [Saros 20](https://featherab.com/shopit?q=Roborock%2BSaros%2B20) if you specifically want the newest premium platform and have a good return policy behind it.

r/Roborock · Thinking about getting the Saros 10r on Prime Day I'm right with you. It's going to be $100 cheaper than the current sale price once June 23rd hits, so I put it on the calendar. I hope they don't sell out immediately. I suspect the usual here: people are more likely to write a review if they have a complaint they want to share or are upset that they spent $$$ and it's not working perfectly. At least, that's the gamble I'm going to take. I wouldn't buy the Saros 10R at regular price, but for $900 when it's usually $1600, I'll give it a shot. Fingers crossed!

r/Roborock · Roborock Qrevo Edge 2 vs Qrevo 10R vs Saros 20 – Which one would you choose? It’s all good. I appreciate it. The flexi arm is slightly different. The Saros has the flexi arm riser (which is actually the part I’m having issues with) whereas the Edge 2 is the flexi arm that just slides in and out.
r/Roborock · Roborock Qrevo Edge 2 vs Qrevo 10R vs Saros 20 – Which one would you choose? I’m in the process of dealing with support on the Saros 10r. I have an Edge that works beautifully. If I could swap the Saros 10r with the Edge 2, I’d do it in a heartbeat. Adding detergent to the tank manually is the least of my worries since I already do it with the Edge.

r/Roborock · QRevo Edge 2 Owner The Roborock Edge 2 mops just as clean as the flagship Saros 10R and Saros 20 series with its 8N downward mopping pressure. Its mop washing tray is quite effective, even though the edges of the mopping pad still get a little dirty. I’ve been using it for 3 months now with the auto water supply and drainage kit, and honestly, I completely forgot I even own the thing.

r/Roborock · After 1 Year with the Roborock Saros 10R: Great Battery, Frustrating in a Real Family Home Well, thanks for your replies. I guess I just expected more from a €1,400 robot. My old Xiaomi Roborock, which is over 7 years old, honestly wasn’t that much worse. I really thought this would be a big upgrade after all that time. Looks like we’ll have to wait for humanoid cleaning robots instead.

r/Roborock · Share Your Real Reviews & Expectations — Win a Saros 20! ✨ I’ve been part of the Roborock family since the S6, and upgrading to the Roborock Saros 10R has been a huge leap forward. The hands-free experience is honestly what stands out the most. Day-to-day, all I really need to do is refill the clean water tank and empty the dirty water, which makes maintaining a clean home feel almost effortless. One thing I’ve done personally to keep the dock in good condition is use water from my reverse osmosis (RO) system. This helps prevent hard water buildup over time, and I think it would be amazing if Roborock could integrate some kind of built-in filtration or softening system into the dock in the future. As for improvements, there are a few areas I’d love to see refined: Curtain navigation: I have a section of my home separated by curtains, and the robot currently treats them like walls. It would be great if it could intelligently push through light barriers like curtains instead of avoiding them entirely, so I don’t have to tie them up before cleaning. Multi-floor usability: Right now, using the robot on a second floor requires moving the entire dock for full functionality. I’d love to see a solution like a portable or “mini dock” just for dustbin emptying, or some way to better support multi-floor cleaning without relocating the main dock. Carpet cleaning performance: The dual divide brush design is definitely lower maintenance and more “set it and forget it,” which I appreciate. However, it doesn’t seem to match the carpet performance of the dual brush system from the Roborock S8 series, which I’ve read offers stronger airflow and better deep cleaning on carpets. Overall, the Saros 10R delivers an incredibly convenient and modern cleaning experience, and with a few improvements, it could be close to perfect.

r/Roborock · Share Your Real Reviews & Expectations — Win a Saros 20! ✨ I have been a Roborock fan since my first s7+ in 2021. And I started telling everyone about your vacuums. Ot really freed up a lot of my time because I was having to get our big plug in vacuum out and vacuum at least twice a day to keep up with all the hair. I moved on to s7 maxv, then original Q Revo, Qrevo Maxv and finally Qrevo master. I absolutely love the Qrevo master. We have 3 dogs and it was great at keeping the floors clean and did great on the carpets with the double roller. It's pretty much at the end of its run so I tried the Curvx. The mopping was good but something about the new duo divide brushes just didn't seem to work well with our dog hair and it picked up half as much on our throw rug. I ran the master right after the curvx and the bin was filled with hair. So I moved on and tried the Roborock Saros 10R..The object avoidance worked great for me, the mopping was fantastic and I loved the machine but the vacuum part was still a little lacking for our pet hair. We have 2 Australian Cattle Dogs and 1 Beagle and their hair gets kind of gummy and sticky. The dual rollers are great for that but I can tell our Qrevo master is on its last leg. I ended up sending the Saros 10r back because the vacuuming just was still not as good. It was leaving a lot of hair behind on 3 passes. Maybe I had a defective one, I don't know. I am excited and eager to try the Saros 20. I am hoping the increased suction will finally solve the hair pick up problem for me. And the improved mopping looks promising. So I am willing to give it a shot. I want it to work because from what I have seen I think it looks great and it SHOULD finally work on my dog hair for the first time since the Qrevo Master. I truly hope it does. If it does not I just hope my Qrevo master holds out until I get one that vacuums the way I need. My main wish for future vacuums is to have the technology of the Saros 20, the spinning mops, but have an option for dual rollers. You still have some dual rollers but that is for more basic models. Having them available with the a flagship and it's fully automated dock would just be perfect. Even if it has to be a more stripped down flagship like the different models of the Curv.

I’ve been looking at Roborock and its competitors. I really liked the idea of the 10r but some reviewers noted that its hair pickup on carpet wasn’t the greatest. I have 3 animals. I then saw the Saros 20 was coming out and improved on the 10r in a lot of areas, including suction power. This should really help on the hairy carpets. I’m looking forward to the release because the Saros 20 seems to be the vacuum that won’t leave me feeling I compromised anywhere.

Even Rome had to fall, but it’s crazy to see how Roborock has built this empire and would let it go because they don’t include longer warranties with $2k priced robots. Also, I hate that the software doesn’t have a male voice to choose from; I find the US English woman’s tone to be off putting. When I ask Siri/Matter to locate it, it says “hey!” very aggressively and the other English (UK and Australia) say “Hi” very pleasant. *For bonus points* I’m really curious about the beefier flexi arm on the 20. I haven’t had any issues with my 10R, but i’ve seen several post on here to the contrary. If I were to upgrade it would be to take advantage of the beefier flexi arm and the higher drying temps. I have walked past the bin and smeled the dirty tank or mop pads before and I’m hoping the 20 doesn’t have that. Thank you for having this contest!
r/Roborock · Saros 10R - 1 Year Review Update Something tells me your animals broke the side brush. I did notice in a review of the 20, they called out how the side brush is beefier on it. I haven’t had a problem with my 10R side brush at all, but i haven’t had it a year yet.

r/Roborock · Saros 10R - 1 Year Review Update I upgraded from the S7 to teh Saros 10R & the biggest benefit is how teh 10R mop cleaning system manages itself. Cleaning the S7's filter was a nasty affair, akin to cleaning a sewer. I hardly have to do that with the 10R & when I do, it's simple: the whole unit pops out & there's no sludge due to the more effective self cleaning & drying. I have 2 large dogs & 4 cats, so the Roborocks both earned their keep, but the 10R is definitely more hands-off

r/Roborock · Saros 10R - 1 Year Review Update Sorry if i missed it, but how often did you change the mops? Using mine for half a year now and noticed a drastic drop in wet cleaning performance. I clean the water outlet every time i start mopping now, but still, only one mop is actually wet, while the other one just leaves swirlmarks. The cleaning fluid usage is also weird on mine. Set it to maximum, the robot is always on vac&mop and it cleaned about 5000m2, yet there is barely any fluid missing. Id say the tank is still 2/3 full.

r/Roborock · Saros 10R - 1 Year Review Update Satisfied with mine on hard floors. Upgraded from a Roborock S55 where I would never even bother with mopping as it was bad and involved a lot of manual setup and maintenance. Hairs tangles all over, had to have like 20 no-go zones, constant dustbin emptying, loud as heck... The Saros 10R has to be filled with water more often than expected but we switched to alternating days of vac and vac+mop, with the sunday left for manual cleaning with the Dyson, and now it essentially mops oy twice a week, so it's not a bother. On some days it acts dumber than on others. On others it does very well. Had to still setup invisible walls so it stopped trying to jump over all my flat horizontal table legs - wish I could disable the stupid adaptive lift that I don't even need. It cleans the mops after each room, empties the dustbin after each run and we hardly fill it as the dustbag still hadn't filled after 4 months of almost daily use and eventually we swapped it just in case, not because it was really full. When I got it it worked perfectly for weeks. Then they updated it and it started lifting up getting stuck under our hanged toilet even though it used to be able to go under them just fine. Scratched the hell out of the top plastic cover and Roborock kindly sent me a new one. Worked fine for a month and they released a second update, which made it get stuck even below our second hanged toilet, which is placed higher!! They refused to send me a new cover as the second one scratched as well... Overall, surprisingly inconsistently dumb for its price but it made our lives so much easier and looks slick as hell in my opinion, so I don't regret the 1300 euro I paid for it. But we don't have pets or toys on the floor. We have zero carpets. We're pretty much the ideal use case for this robot. I know of people with lots of carpets and many toys on said carpets. And in these situations, this robot does the dumbest shit imaginable. It "avoids" obstacles work than a basic no-camera no-lidar budget robot vacuum from 10 years ago.

r/Roborock · Roborock Saros 10R(Aus) first pass review Definitely need to start with a clean floor. And need to run robot more often is clogging. Should probably run a good upright vacuum once in a while. Much stronger suction. I got Saros 10r because we couldn't keep up with the dog hair. They're was always dog hair everywhere. The robot is not perfect, but there's a lot less hair.
r/Roborock · Roborock Saros 10R(Aus) first pass review You can divide larger rooms into smaller sections. Then schedule the smaller rooms to be vacuumed one at a time in a routine. Only problem is, if you have it return to dock too frequently, it won't empty. Even manually. Because it times out to protect the emptying motor. I'm not sure what the timeout time is, maybe 15 minutes. So I schedule my vacuum to do each smaller area about 1 hour apart. I've been thinking about trying to print a larger dust bin. Only problem is, I don't have a 3d printer or the knowledge to do it.

r/RobotVacuums · Long hair friendly Auto Vacuum? I have a household with long human hair and a lot of cat hair. Have experiences recently with the following robots Eufy E28: Very good vacuuming performance and never got a tangle on the roller. It very frequently got clogged with car hair when auto emptying however. Like, one out of every two times basically. Mova V50: Decent vacuuming performance, also never get tangles, but the bristles on one of the rollers sometimes would get a little caked with cat hair. Probably my favorite of the three. Roborock Saros 10R: Poor vacuuming performance in my experience, misses a lot of debris and drops clumps of hair when vacuuming carpet. No tangles on the rollers but strangely I was getting some hair tangling in the rear wheels.

r/Roborock · Roborock (Saros 10) — 2 Month Experience Please don’t use a dust bin. When you dump out the dust bin, you are exposing all of those particles back into the air unless you dump it outside of your house. If you have ever used bins or dust pants to sweep up messes, you’ll notice how the area around your trashcan becomes very dusty. Bags prevent this problem because they trap all of the allergens, dust, dandruff, and dirt into a cheap and easy to replace bag. The bag can be much more tightly packed than a normal bin can, so you are trading more frequent emptying in exchange for saving a couple dollars.

r/Roborock · Roborock (Saros 10) — 2 Month Experience A couple of options for bags. First do the manufacturer recommended buy new disposable bags and toss when they are full. Second there are bags with zippers on them you can buy online if you want to try and reuse it a few times but still recommend tossing after a few uses. Third is 3d print a dustbin that uses one of the vacuums onboard filters. We did this with our other Roborock CurvX because no one makes bags that fit the dock dustbin shape properly and it would easily cause animal hair clogging the bag at the entry point from the dock tube. We use the disposable for the Saros 10r and have been happy with it but I am considering printing a dustbin for it too.

r/RobotVacuums · Help me decide - yet another Dreame X50 vs Roborock Saros 10R I went for the Roborock Saros 10R eventually. I am known with Roborock for a few years now (I bought a S50 5 years ago for my parents) and my overall experience with Roborock is very good. I do really like the X50's design (its slimmer, but the robot itself is as wide as the 10R) but there are some dealbreakers for me: \- Although the battery life should not be an issue for our house (+/- 45m2), it could be a problem in the future (e.g. maybe we are moving to a bigger house, want to use it on the first and second floor) \- Roborocks Saros 10r height is 8cm where the Dreame X50 is 8.9 with the Lidar retracted. Under our bed and sofa it could be a close call for the Dreame X50. Something I dont want to risk. \- Cleaning the inside of the mopping wash tray was something Just A Dad mentioned about the X50 which is not that great. The Saros 10R got a tray you can take out and wash. The Dreame X50 needs some cleaning inside the dock underneath the little tray. As our dock is sitting in between a closet and sofa its not ideal for me to clean it in between. Both are great and have good performances but the Saros 10R was €1099, the same price as the Dreame X50. It was hard, but based on the pros of the Roborock Saros 10R I had to pick that one, even though I dont like the design.

I would look in the app for this feature and experiment making parallel lines and seeing if you can get the robot to travel through those. After that, you should be able to make lines for it to follow to go up the ramps.

I'd recommend: * Roborock Saros 10R if it's within your budget (9.5/10 hard floor pickup, 6.5/10 low pile carpet, 8/10 mopping) * Roborock Qrevo Curv (9/10 hard floor, 6.5/10 low pile carpet, 8/10 mopping) * Roborock Qrevo (8.5, 6.5, 7.5) Breaking the Roborock mold, interestingly, the unpublished Ecovacs DEEBOT X8 PRO OMNI had the best balance of all three performances at 8 hard floor, 7.5 low pile carpet, and 9.5 mopping. r/RobotVacuums · How Can We ( Vacuum Wars) Catch Real-World Issues in Robot Vacuum Reviews? So one thing I think could be easily tested in mopping is for streaks on different floor surfaces. Example below, I bought the Ecovacs X9 Pro Omni on your #1 rating and although it mopped really well when it dried it started leaving streaks after the 2-3 run. It would be great if you could test for something like tat on various surfaces. (The streaks appear to be caused by the rakes that are built into the rolling mop cleaner tray as they line up perfectly.) I ended up returning the Ecovacs x9 and got the Saros 10R instead and couldn't be happier, no streaks and a lot less noisy to boot https://preview.redd.it/3xzu35iz94df1.jpeg?width=2035&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=375dfb8e2126838a62c8ba9a67a9b37d17c6742d

r/RobotVacuums · Help me decide - yet another Dreame X50 vs Roborock Saros 10R These two were also in my consideration list, and I finally went with the Saros 10R. I was convinced by its anti-tangle system because we have long hair at home and it rarely gets stuck. The app is really smooth and makes setting zones and schedules super easy. It just makes our cleaning way easier.

r/RobotVacuums · Prime Day Recommendations by Price Band - These are the robots I'd buy You really like the 3i S10 more than both by that much? Newer companies typically put me off a little, as I'm worried about folding or being bought out and dismantled. I was leaning Saros 10R with refilling and draining station, but then realized it only has a 1 year warranty. The X50 having a 5 year warranty, more included accessories, and similar performance seems like a better choice.

r/RobotVacuums · Prime Day Recommendations by Price Band - These are the robots I'd buy The amazon deals start on the 7th. Neither the Saros 10 or 10R is discounted on the US amazon website right now, both are at full price. Do not click on the link, just look at the picture. The picture shows what the discount will be. I'm not arguing with you, I'm just letting you know what the discount will be on the 7th since you appear to be confused in your post on why the saros 10 "isn't discounted".
r/RobotVacuums · Prime Day Recommendations by Price Band - These are the robots I'd buy not sure why you say the saros 10 is not discounted but the 10r is. On roborock's website it shows the 10 is discounted $300, and the 10R is discounted $320 on amazon.

r/RobotVacuums · Prime Day Deals Please do! Like most users, my computer desk looked straight out of Minority Report with all the screens and info and reviews, etc., as I tried to nail down the right vac for us. So your work has really put a lot of the videos & reviews into perspective. Ultimately, I (think) I've settled on the Saros 10R because of its object avoidance (read: avoiding cat vomit and an occasional turd), its threshold clearing, and the biggest issue for me, its integration in Home Assistant. Otherwise, that 3i S10 Ultra looked MIGHTY tempting.

r/Roborock · Roborock Saros 10 - after one week That Starsight system has the “cool factor”, but I am not sure if it’s that much better - perhaps they still need to improve it via software. Dustbin design is apparently better on the 10. I feel the main difference between the two are the different mop system. But since I only use the vacuum function, I am not so worried which is better. I find this guy on youtube consistently have the most unbiased reviews, check him out here https://youtu.be/z7DW-mx-TRs?si=ZISNrqssTmJK0MLb Ultimately, the last factor was that the 10 was cheaper than the 10R in my country. Hope that helps.

r/Roborock · Saros 10R 24 Hour Review That’s great to hear that you think so, because I couldn’t resist either and ordered the Saros 10R on Thursday :-D. It arrived Friday morning. My first impression – very nice design and solid build quality (especially for a Chinese device). The second thing that surprised me was the lack of even a sample of detergent in the box, so I immediately ordered a 1-liter bottle (which arrived Saturday at a parcel locker). But I went away for the weekend and only got back last night, so I haven’t really had the chance to play with it yet. The only thing I did was start a full vacuum and mop run of the whole apartment on Friday before leaving, without bothering to check for any objects lying around – and unfortunately, about 20 minutes later I got a notification from the app saying one of the mop pads had fallen off and the wheels were stuck. It turned out the robot had gotten tangled in the power cable of an electric baby rocker. When I came back yesterday, the battery was completely drained, so the first cleaning experience was really poor. But last night I did a full vacuum and mop again, and so far it's OK. The only thing that puzzles me is why it marked the edge of my large rug in the living room, and when I run a manual vacuum-only job for that room, it still refuses to go on the rug and clean it. I’ve looked through the options, edited furniture settings, etc., but I can’t figure it out.

Would you still say the 10 is better than the 10R? We have an older dog that is having more fecal accidents in the house that our S8 Pro Ultra has not detected leading to several unfortunate smears. We're looking for a new vacuum and I was leaning toward the 10R because I've seen some reviews online say it has better object detection, which is our main issue right now. We also have issues with hair getting stuck in the roller so the decreased tangle roller is a plus.

The 10 can hardly even be called an "advanced" machine at this point. Sub-par cleaning, crappy navigation. I actually don't mean any of this. I just think it's absolutely hilarious and pathetic how invested OP is in convincing everyone that the 10 is better (which it isn't, because it's absolute trash).

r/Roborock · Roborock Saros 10 vs 10R vs Z70 – What the Reviews Say, What the Roborock Representatives Told Me, and Why I Ended Up Choosing the 10 (also abit about robot testing and why I find it extremely weird and inconsistent) Well, Starsight is just a type of direct Time of Flight (dToF) lidar similar to a conventional LDS turret. Roborock's Starsight uses a hybrid time of flight (hToF) sensor provided by Infineon Technologies AG and PMD Technologies AG (REAL3 hToF) https://www.infineon.com/cms/en/product/promopages/hybrid-tof/ , which combines the benefit of the dToF with an indirect ToF (iToF) sensor, offering higher resolution at close distances since dToF resolution is worse at close range. That's why on a CCTV camera (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tThmDkJoHZ4&t=159s&ab\_channel=BagusHanindhito), Starsight sensors emit two types of infrared light: dot/spot projection for dToF (long range), similar to the emitter found in Microsoft Kinect, and flood projector for iToF (short range, higher resolution) found in automotive-grade flash lidar. In short, a conventional rotating LDS emits a single laser beam, while Starsight emits multiple beams at the same time, increasing sampling frequency compared to conventional lidar. The only benefit of conventional LDS that I could think of is the speed of covering 360-degree mapping in seconds, while Saros 10r needs to rotate its body to get similar coverage. Also, Roborock is not the first robovac to implement this technology, as Dreame has added this sensor too for obstacle avoidance in their W10 Pro lineup in 2022.

r/Roborock · Saros 10R 24 Hour Review Depends on use. For me, it being able to pick up pet hair effectively is extremely important. Also, you’re never going to get rid of vacuums. There are plenty of places the robots can’t get into, but vacuuming the hard to reach places take little time and is just requiree every once in a while. Only the open spaces where you walk is important to keep as clean as possible. Got a robot vacuum because I just don’t have the energy to vacuum often enough. Cat litter and pet hair builds up insanely fast everywhere and my rug gets frustratingly difficult to clean if you wait even a week. Most of the time is spent cleaning pet hair. I wish it could also clean other things of pet hair instead of just the floor but it’s great to not have to step on cat litter and get hair under my feet all the time. Also nice because I have very mild cat dander allergy, this definitely removes a fair bit of dander regularly. I’m thinking of selling my big vacuum (not the stick type) and buy a stick vacuum. Actually bought a dyson several years ago thinking it would make it easier to just get off the wall and clean more often but turns out I’m too lazy. But I still need to clean hard to reach places and the big, chunky vacuum is harder to use and takes more place than a stick vacuum for that.
r/Roborock · Saros 10R 24 Hour Review Damn, that’s some rapid updates but I understand it’s needed to not piss off and lose customers.

r/Roborock · Saros 10R 24 Hour Review Thank you for this wonderful review. I returned my US$1,599.99 2024 Roborock Qrevo Edge because its obstacle avoidance was bad, getting caught on wires and cat toys that my much older iRobot Roomba and Neato Botvac robot vacuums avoided easily. I was planning to get the Roborock Saros 10R because I figured the Starsight was the next big tech upgrade from Roborock, but I'm reading too many reports that it isn't quite there yet.

r/Roborock · Saros 10R 24 Hour Review We got our saros 10r two days ago. We’ve had it clean the entire house twice already. We have a lab that is constantly shedding and we just could keep up. The machine has done a phenomenal job of cleaning. We can see and feel a huge difference. Haven’t had any trouble with obstacle avoidance. On a couple of occasions it would cross over an extension cord, but once I noted on her app that the cord could be ignored it did fine. I will say (as noted by someone above), even between day 1 and 2 it was clear that the machine learned to better navigate the house and recognize a variety of objects (beds, rugs, cords, etc.) Highly impressed. Caveat: this is my first robo-vac, so I have nothing to compare it too. I have read that it’s way slower in cleaning than the Qrevo for example. It does seem slow, but I don’t think I expected it to be fast and do a good job. So, I kinda don’t care.

r/Roborock · Saros 10R 24 Hour Review they are awkward to change out. The sv8 had a hinged handle so you could grab the handle and tip the water out. The 10r just had a large tub with a hinged lid on it. You need both hands to navigate the heavy container to dump and you dont have an extra hand to navigate the floppy lid so its awkward and messy.
r/Roborock · Saros 10R 24 Hour Review also have the sv8 and the 10r. My thoughts so far is the liquid containers are a downgrade not an upgrade. The 8 max you could grab the handle lift the lid and tip the dirty contents out. The 10r its just a container with a lid with a hinge on the end so its awkward and lid floppy to dump. The water container is heavy and needs both hands to navigate and there isnt a hand left to manage the lid when pouring out. Also they made the antitangle rollers more difficult to put back into place. But functionally it gets an A.

r/Roborock · Saros 10R 24 Hour Review Thanks for the objective early review. I'm waiting for the UK release to upgrade from my S7 MaxV, and pet hair is also one of my drivers. We have two long-haired cats who tend to leave an invisible layer of fur that floats on the carpet; it's not noticeable, but if you rub it with your hand it balls up into fluff. With the S7, we've tended to find that the silicon roller doesn't pick this up very well, with the benefit of that being it doesn't clog up, whereas if we swap and use the brush roller, it does a good job but clogs in minutes. It's good to hear from your review and others I've read this week that real-world performance with long hair seems to be really good. Could you clarify if the 10R has a RGB camera like the S7 MaxV? Cached versions of the Roborock spec reference it, but I've seen third-party comparison tables say it doesn't, and the official Roborock site doesn't seem to mention it any more.

I got rid of all rugs with fringes. Don’t think I’ve had a robot that can deal with it properly. My 10r has done great, I do about 2500 sq ft a day with it. My only complaint is the filter getting constantly clogged even when I don’t ever run vac and mop at the same time. Dust bin is also tiny and dock has a hard time dealing with long dog hair when it’s emptying. Changing the settings to empty as often as possible has helped. Overall though I’m pretty happy.. but I shouldn’t have bought it right when it came out and should have waited for it to go on sale.
