r/NARWAL · EU Buyers Beware: Narwal’s Automatic Water Change Module Won’t Work

Ugh that really sucks! This is also the first time I’ve heard of any automatic water exchanging module of being region locked. Haven’t heard anything like this from the dreame and Xiaomi ones. If you can return the water change module, there are third party universal water changing modules on AliExpress that shouldn’t be region locked :)

    r/RobotVacuums · Looking for a robot vacuum

What about the Narwal Freo Z ultra at 549 euros last time I checked? Although it uses spinning mops, it does pretty well for a spinning mop robot. I’d also check out the MOVA Z60 ultra roller.

r/RobotVacuums · Make me pull the right trigger: Roborock Qrevo Curv vs Narwal Freo Z Ultra

    1. Do your cats make messes? If so, please look at Narwal. If not, go with Roborock’s QRevo Curv 2. Carrying the base station: if your first floor is the only floor that needs to be mopped, congrats you can just bring the robot itself between floors so you can choose the Q Revo Curv as I believe it’ll do better on carpets. If both floors need mopping: Narwal Freo Z Ultra requires that you bring the entire base station between floors, it has a handle built in for this purpose. Bring the robot, water tanks, and base station up and down separately. Q Revo Curv does not have a handle built into the base station. If that’s okay, please take out the water tanks and bring the tanks, base station, and robot up one by one. For reference, base stations are about 12-13kg without water in the water tanks. 3. Q Revo MAXV’s obstacle avoidance acted as bad as the one without a camera until they released a new firmware update. I suspect this will happen with the Curv too. Keep spamming them for an update :) 4. Totally miscellaneous but if you want to be able to put cat ears on the base station, I think the QRevo Curv would look cuter with them.

r/NARWAL · Review: Narwal Freo Z Ultra - A Great Mopping Robot with Shockingly Smart AI Navigation!

Great video. The Z’s AI is phenomenal and I wish the Z10 would have gotten it (I fear they left it off as they didn’t want to upset Z Ultra owners by offering essentially an upgraded Z ultra). I find in all ways the Z10 to be the superior bot with the most exception of the AI. My Z ultra has no issues navigating around my home and obstacles, the Z10 unfortunately gets stuck on a regular basis.

    r/RobotVacuums · Prime Day Deals

Many of them are on sale, but still wait. They go on deeper discount for prime day. The embargos roll off over the next few weeks, the Freo X is all I'm allowed to post yet, but it is on massive discount (70% off). FWIW, I liked the Freo X and Z, except that they were such water hogs that they're not autonomous. You have to refill them after each run.

    r/RobotVacuums · Prime Day Deals

I did not enjoy the Narwal Freo X or Z for a few reasons. [https://lifehacker.com/tech/narwal-freo-z-ultra-is-a-great-mop-but-a-water-hog](https://lifehacker.com/tech/narwal-freo-z-ultra-is-a-great-mop-but-a-water-hog) I don't think its a good candidate for ANYONE because you have to top that mop up all the time. A few vacuums are going to dip under that $500 priceline for Prime Day, but even then, its not a lot, and not any I think you'll ultimately be happy with. Your house has ALL the complications. The fur, the toys, the debris, and that huge size. I think a budget vac is going to struggle with the largesse of the home, they don't have great navigation or obstacle avoidance, and very few vacuums are good with the kind of debris that dogs and kids cause (larger than a cheerio). Honest opinion. But, the vacuums I'd recommend for that situation are TWICE what you're willing to spend, so I understand that is also likely not realistic.

r/RobotVacuums · Are YouTube reviews misleading?

95% of them are sponsored, so take that as you may. But the Narwal Freo Z is great at mopping as it can apply quite a bit of pressure for tile and returns to its base to wet/clean its mop pads often. It doesn’t just spin around dirty mop pads and rewet them. However, It uses a ton of water, even on its lighter settings and has poor edge mopping. Not great, but not the worst on carpet. I find their cleaning algorithm annoying, but their AI avoidance is at the top. The Eufy S1 Pro is excellent at mopping (maybe the best!), terrible at carpet and lacks edge cleaning also. It’s a tank though with a nice app. I’m waiting on Roborock to do a roller. I like their app the best, but I just don’t care for rotating mop pads. I’ve been happy with my S8 Max V.

r/NARWAL · Freo Z Ultra Pathing and no on board water tank?

I have 4 shorthaired cats and a shedding long-haired girlfriend. This thing handles all of that no problem, my house is 99% hard wood, tile, with a few rugs. Seems to do just as well as any Roborock I’ve ever had, but quieter and better at mopping, without running over every cat toy in the house. It vacuums every morning the front half of the house and the bedrooms every night. It mops Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays in the same fashion. Plus it recognizes spills and extra dirty areas using AI.

r/NARWAL · Freo Z Ultra Pathing and no on board water tank?

The object avoidance of the Narwal is second to none, never gets stuck or eats anything. The kit was very straightforward, just hook up to a water source and run a drain to a drain line (I used my washer/dryer hookups). Took some effort but I never have to refill or empty ever again. It’s a thirsty bot, but it cleans its mops often rather than just mopping endlessly with dirty mops like the roborocks do. Worth the extra money and effort for me. As for a reference of how much effort it has saved, I was replacing the water in my roborocks once a week for 2 days of mopping during the week. With this Narwal, probably would have been twice a week for same mopping, so once every mop day. I bumped my mopping frequency to 3 days a week since getting the Freo Z and the auto refill kit. The cleaning solution is supposed to last a long time, as in 3-4 months I believe.

r/RobotVacuums · Suggestions? Narwal Freo Z Ultra vs. Roborock S8 MaxV

I just sold my S8 MaxV Ultra in anticipation of the Freo Z Ultra… the spinning brushes are far superior in floor cleaning. I also have a Q Revo, it is a better mopping robot, though it lacks the rgb camera for proper obstacle avoidance. The Freo Z seems to have amazing obstacle avoidance and I kind of like that it goes and washes the mop and doesn’t just keep mopping with dirty brushes throughout the whole house.

r/RobotVacuums · Suggestions? Narwal Freo Z Ultra vs. Roborock S8 MaxV

I thought about that, but the object avoidance and auto solution adding is a must (I’m using the auto refill kit so adding solution is not easily done), plus I just don’t love the last few Roborocks I had. If it’s terrible, I’ll return it!

    Seuils & obstaclesStation auto
r/RobotVacuums · Suggestions? Narwal Freo Z Ultra vs. Roborock S8 MaxV

The navigation on the curv is getting terrible reviews, the navigation is the best in the industry on the Freo Z, also the Curv doesn’t allow for auto detergent adding. The Roborock app has been really bad lately for mapping and it doesn’t let me rename rooms. I’m tired of buying “the best Roborock ever made” then seeing a better robot 3 months later. Also, Roborock gate keeps features behind models. I have 3 different Roborock, why can some allow room prioritization, some let you add furniture, some have threshold marking, etc, it’s software features that they don’t enable on all models. It’s frustrating, I’ll give Narwal a shot after 6 years of Roborock flagships.

    r/NARWAL · How‘s Narwal Freo Z Ultra mopping performance?

it's f-ing GREAT! I'm coming from an OG Freo, which replaced a Roomba BraavaJet M6+ (which was absolute dogshit for a "mop"). The OG Freo was REALLY good. Pair with the automatic water exchange system and it was game changing. Narwal has been known for fantastic mopping capabilities since at least the release of the OG Narwal Freo 2 years ago. The Freo Z Ultra is on an entirely new level of autonomous mopping, in my opinion. I can't begin to explain how ridiculously good the mopping is, but with Freo Mind and the automatic water exchange system, I'll say it went from "game changing" to "LIFE CHANGING." I'm a huge fan of watching vacuum videos, especially from u/vacuumwars . I'm a glutton for cleaning technologies, and while Vacuum Wars hasn't reviewed the Freo Z Ultra yet, he did review the X Ultra which came in the #5 spot, with the Eufy Omni S1 Pro taking the #1 spot. (Source: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f6XtIkIzOgI) So why would I pick the Freo Z Ultra over the Omni S1 Pro? The automatic water exchange system. Yea, it's a $300 accessory, but I cannot explain just how ridiculously life changing NEVER HAVING TO TOUCH YOUR ROBOT is. I automated a Freo Mind (vacuum and mop simultaneously) schedule for 7 days a week since I got it last Tuesday. I haven't touched it since. I wake up every day to clean floors... Vacuumed floors. MOPPED floors. REALLY. CLEAN. FLOORS. We have 3 cats, 3 dogs, and 3 people with long hair in this house. The dogs splash water, the cats kick litter, and the humans drop crumbs, splash drinks, cough and sneeze, drag their feet, come in and out of the house with dirty shoes. OH and we have 5 aquariums that we're constantly shuffling water to in order to top them off, and of course, we splash water all over the tile while doing this. NO MORE STAINS. No more crumbs, no more water spots, no more pet tracks on the tile, no more weird streaks from the stupid BraavaJet M6+, no more hassle with only running the mop when I'm around to babysit it. I can have the Freo Z Ultra clean while my girlfriend and I sleep, and I don't have to think about it anymore. Having 100% autonomous floor cleaning is an entirely different level of luxury that you have to experience to TRULY appreciate. The OG Freo changed the game for mopping, and the S1 Pro may have raised the bar, but when the Freo series (OG, X, and Z) can continue to mop 100% autonomously with ZERO human intervention, I will take the Freo series over the S1 Pro Every. Single. Time. It will literally keep mopping the area and cleaning the pads until it's done. No gripes about running out of water, no getting up from the couch, or coming home to a half-assed job because it ran out of water halfway through the cycle, no forgetting to dump the dirty water tank while away for the weekend and coming back to a tank that absolutely REAKS. The Freo Z Ultra (with automatic water exchange system) is the kind of hassle-free cleaning I always dreamed about, ever since the original Roomba hit the market. It's literally the type of cleaning experience we've ALL been waiting for.

r/NARWAL · Freo Z Ultra Pathing and no on board water tank?

Pathing seems slightly irratic in some spots in the beginning but it's most likely because the floor is dirty. Mine started making similar lines to the ones my i7+ made (lawn mower lines) about 3 weeks in, and now they're pretty consistent. I'm on week 7 or 8 of ownership now. I've had the automatic water exchanger since day one, because I already had it on the OG Freo the Z Ultra replaced. I have it mop daily, and I still have solution. Quite a bit, actually. Once you push it in there, don't pull it out again until told to do so by the app.

r/RobotVacuums · Make me pull the right trigger: Roborock Qrevo Curv vs Narwal Freo Z Ultra

If I was dropping the money I would go with the narwal unless your 2nd story needs mopping. The narwal does not have an onboard water tank and would need to go back the base to rewet and clean pads. The curvs obstacle avoidance appears to be decent at best from what videos I’ve seen. Hopefully someone that owns one will chime in with some more insight on that.

r/RobotVacuums · Most durable Robot Vacuum?

The Roborock Curv, Dreame vacuums with the tri cut brush as the other person mentioned, and Narwarl Freo Z Ultra are probably the ones you want. Curv and Freo Z have brushes that are designed to pick up the hair and then the hair travels along the brush until it falls of the brush and is vacuumed up. The Dreame one cuts the brush, however the brush design results in weaker debris pick up.

Yeah they eventually replaced the station, and I can hear the dust collection working, but the issue is that it still does not empty the dustbox. Every 5-6 weeks I have to do it manually. I gave up reporting the issue because Narwal simply isn't listening or doesn't want to fix it. Even with a now working Base Station, the suction is not strong enough to empty the dustbox.

Thanks for this! It wasn't pushed in all the way in the robot, but even when doing manual collecting it makes a very low noise (when it should be loud?) and the dust bag in the Base Station is not affected at all, there is no blowing into it. (I am not sure where the limit switch is but I do hear the Base Station saying there is no dust bag when I pull it out).

Push the dust bin in real hard. It should click into place. I didn’t push it in far enough once after changing it and my Z Ultra wouldn’t empty. Another thing to try, pull out the bag and inspect the limit switch that the bag is supposed to push on. Make sure it’s in good condition and you can hear it click. Maybe even try to empty the dust bin while manually holding down the limit switch. Just make sure you’ve already cleaned it out of the robot so you don’t get a face full of dust.

Object avoidance is great, app works flawless so far, suction power is good (especially when you turn it to full-power mode), mopping is great. Pathing is fine although notthe best especially getting into tight areas. The main drawback to not having an onboard water tank is it goes through a good bit more water than other robots. It also leaves the dock with pretty wet pads by design do people with delicate wood floors might be bothered. Besides that it mops better than most robots on the market. Narwal know how to mop. Always has. Vacuuming is another story.

No issues with the pathing here. I've noticed it seems to learn from prior cleaning. It's quiet and after awhile you, and while on schedule, we barely notice it while its cleaning. The mopping is great in my opinion. It will take longer on the 1st time if it detects dirt. The lack of onboard water is not a problem. It cleans the entire house well. It does use alot of water so we split up the rooms on different days. I don't think the water usage is a problem when you see how much dirt the mopping has picked up.

I’ve had a Freo Z for several months. Haven’t tried the mopping, just the vacuum feature. I have 2 long haired, big dogs and it does okay. When they are blowing coat it can’t keep up but by running more frequently it helps. The mapping and auto vacuuming is hit or miss. A couple of days a week it will complete the whole map. Other days it will take a tour of the dining room and proceed to the next room without finishing

No, they are not all like that—you do not need to use a screwdriver just to remove hair from a robot vacuum。 The iRobot Roomba 675 is an older model that requires extensive unscrewing for deep maintenance. Many top brands now include built-in combs, active blades, or specialized roller shapes to prevent hair wraps entirely:Conical Rollers: Models like the Roborock Qrevo Curv or Narwal Freo Z Ultra feature V-shaped or split rollers that naturally slide long hair down the barrel and directly into the suction port rather than letting it wrap around the axle.Built-in Pro-Detangle Combs: Brands like Eufy use physical, internal teeth to brush hair off the roller and straight into the dust bin while it cleans.

r/NARWAL · EU Buyers Beware: Narwal’s Automatic Water Change Module Won’t Work

I received it back again and it is working perfect! Even with the automatic water exchange. In the past months I have been responding to some topics here and made one or more of my own. My issues are now fixed and I think it is only fair to share the good, the bad and the ugly here. I am going to share the same thing on multiple threads.   I bought my Narwal Freo Z Ultra in November 2024. After a while I started having issues. The device was too slow to charge, which caused scheduled cleanups of 6-10 hours. Soon thereafter I got some charging errors. Also I got notifications that the robot wasn't in the dock. I did everything that was needed: cleaned the charging pads (although I clean my base station on a weekly basis), remapped, reset, re-paired. Everything! There continued to be a mis communication between the dock and the robot.   So, I connected with customer support. I had to do all sort of resetting again. And I made a detailed description of everything I tested and wat was working and what wasn't. At some point I was able to send in the device. After weeks and weeks I received it back. The issue was not fixed. I created a follow up test report and I was allowed to send it in again. Withing 1 or 2 weeks I received it back. And as far as I can see after a few weeks of testing is that the issue is finally fixed!   So, I can conclude that customer support did follow through and did in the end make sure the issue was fixed. As they promised: they stuck with me until everything was fixed. I will let them know I appreciate this of course!   There were only a few minor things that I can complain about: \-The dock was full of sand \-I had to remap 3 times before I was able to use the device \-It doesn't back up straight into the dock so it needs 3-5 times before it docks. Ths seems to be because one wheel is spinning slightly faster than the other.   I thought customer support was gas lighting mee, but the really did make sure everything was fixed. I am not sure if this is any better with devices from other brands.   This guy had the exact same issues: [https://www.reddit.com/r/NARWAL/comments/1rd8np4](https://www.reddit.com/r/NARWAL/comments/1rd8np4)

r/RobotVacuums · What to go for moving forwards?

I've got a Narwal Freo Z ultra and it's doing a great job with my two long hair sheddy dogs on hard floors. It was Narwal's flagship vac from last year but I've seen it discounted as low as $800. It hasn't gotten any hair tangled for me so far. The obstacle avoidance and navigation is really top notch too. It actively avoids cables and all kinds of other stuff. Mine never gets stuck on anything. I mostly got it for the dog hair but honestly the mopping is really nice too. Overall I'm kinda lazy so I wanted something that required as little manual intervention from me as possible and this fits the bill. Most of my maintenance is just swapping/refilling the water every 4 days with an every other day mop schedule.

r/RobotVacuums · What to go for moving forwards?

For pet hair pickup and hard floors some good options to look into are the Roborock Qrevo Curv, Qrevo Edge, or Soros 10R. Any Roborock with the duodivide main brush does a really good job with pet hair without tangling. Narwal has a couple solid options for hard floors with tons of hair in the Narwal Freo Z ultra and Narwal Flow.

r/NARWAL · Freo Z Ultra Pathing and no on board water tank?

Have faced a Clean Water Tank issue (error 2006) in my machine just within 4 months. Had to send it in for service. Noticed several ppl facing this issue. Being wray of this company now. My iRobot though lacked the bells and whistles is still working fine after 3 years.

r/RobotVacuums · Make me pull the right trigger: Roborock Qrevo Curv vs Narwal Freo Z Ultra

I came in here to see if the Curv was better than the narwhal, as the narwhal is what I've got and love it, with one big flaw. Its avoidance won't seem to allow it to go on my carpet in the bedroom. It is a high pile rug and it just doesn't try. I've even 3d printed some ramps for rugs and it only will go up the ramp in one spot. I'm hoping there is an app or device update that pushes it go onto the carpet. Also, this narwhal has a wheel like the curv that let's it go up higher, it simply refuses to use it, nothing mentions it in the app, I didn't see it mentioned in a video, but when it finally went into the high pile rug, it popped the wheel out like a qrevo Curv ad and cruised around. I feel like the narwhal is great but needs more software and firmware to see its potential realized...which means it may never get there depending on support. To answer your specific question, I set my narwhal's pathing to meticulous in the settings, and it seems to do a lot better on hardwood that way. I hope this helps!

    r/RobotVacuums · Honest Dreame X50 Ultra (Pro) review - tl;dr included

Narwal Freo was announced and it has very impressive mopping. It could be released internationally within 3-4 months. Dreame and Roborock will release vacuums with new and improved mopping systems in 6 months to 1 year time if I was to guess. Dreame is gonna release one with improved mopping in their experimental sub brand called Mova. If you really don't want to wait. The Eufy S1 pro is good and Narwal Freo Z is good for houses that have wooden floor, tiles etc..

r/RobotVacuums · Make me pull the right trigger: Roborock Qrevo Curv vs Narwal Freo Z Ultra

My argument never shifted around. It's always remained on the stance that not having an onboard water tank is always a con. You're the one disguising a negative as a positive while providing unfounded conclusions without elaborating on any of it. The last line was also not total bs unlike everything you said. Cleaning your floors more often does get it cleaner. This is common sense...

    >Except that would invalidate the argument that the Narwal uses too much water, cuz if you made the other robot wash its mops as often it would too. It doesn't invalidate that argument. It's just another problem on its own. According to the Narwal website, it takes the Narwal Freo Z Ultra about 2 hours to mop 1000 sqft twice. It's mops pads will be washed after cleaning every 107.6 sqft on the default setting. This means it's going to be washing the mop 9.29 times just to wash 1000 sqft, and that's not even including the initial clean and the final cleaning. If it's using that much water, 5 L is going to run out really quickly which is counterintuitive to a product that's supposed to be automated. >But that's because people don't do that, because they have an onboard water tank. Heck, having an onboard watertank is prefered for that reason - because it doesn't return to dock that often. You don't know whether people do that or not lol. Even if they did do that, it still doesn't solve the issue of lowered mopping effectiveness from not having an onboard water tank. >Which means it drags the dirt around. It doesn't. And if you are running your bot every day, your floors get so clean there wouldn't even be dirt to be dragged around.

Not really a flip side when the Curv also washes the pads during the cleaning process. You can set how frequently it does this so no it does not drag dirty mop pads around. The moving mop pad has been out for a while already with many brands copying this. Haven’t seen anyone say it’s been breaking. If having an additional feature = oh it’s going to break then you might as well factor in the electrolyte water generator might malfunction and break in the Z.

r/RobotVacuums · Make me pull the right trigger: Roborock Qrevo Curv vs Narwal Freo Z Ultra

Z won't mop better than the Curv. Curv has an onboard water tank that electronically controls the liquid dispensing while the Z doesn't, which means the Z will be mopping the floors with inconsistent moisture distribution on the floors. This is especially true if you use a cleaning detergent that helps soften up embedded dirt and dried stains. Chemical reactions help with cleaning a lot more than people think. Not having an onboard tank means the Z will also be going back to the station more to re-wet and reclean the mops over and over again so it takes longer to clean, you will be using more detergent over time which increasing the cost of maintenance from having to buy more detergent and mops due, plus you will be refilling and emptying the clean and dirty water tanks more often.

Ironically, and contrary to my expectations, Vacuum Wars has mopping score slightly worse for the Freo. The obstacle avoidance is higher though, something that to me is more important than the things it scores lower on. Navigation is lower, battery life is lower - meh, I don't really care how long it takes to get the room done (but maybe the video will say more about that that WOULD bug me). Mopping efficiency - I'd run the thing often so I don't care that much about results for one run. Pet rating is higher. Possibly just cuz of the obstacle avoidance, but that's high on my list as well. But yeah, def awaiting the video review.

Vacuum Wars currently lists the Narwal as #3, the Curv as #1, but without a video it's hard to tell what the cons are. I am mostly curious about how obstacle avoidance and hair faired in his tests. I did see a video that compared the Curv and the Narwal after some heavy heavy mess cleanup and it showed the difference in how clean the Narwal was afterwards compared to the Curv, which really made me lean towards the Narwal. The two things that make you lean towards Narwal - tresholds and the sidebrush extension are tough. I saw a video that showed the corner brush having a bit of a flaw, and the above video did mention rightfully that seems a likely point of failure on the vacuum. But yeah, I had settled on the Narwal but the order went sideways somehow so now am back in the same boat as you. Lastly, I don't now where you're at, where I am I can buy one at Costco vs the other at Amazon. I'd say based on observation of the various posts in the various subs warranty/service wise Costco would be preferable over dealing with the manufacturer directly. For reference here's the vid I mentioned. Different models but based on the tech I'd say the observations would hold up https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aJs6Wdq5izU

Z doesn't have an onboard water tank so washes the pads when adding moisture so doesn't drag dirty pad around. One could also argue the mop extend is just another moving part that can break. To me the obstace avoidance and CostCo availability are the deciding factors and that means Narwal for me.

r/NARWAL · Freo Z Ultra Pathing and no on board water tank?

I've run roborock twice now and it did not get tangled yet. Second clean was done when I wasn't home and it completed the clean without any issues. I think it's definitely not as good as Narwal's object avoidance but Narwal's can be too sensitive and potentially that's why its cleaning path is so messy compared to Roborock. So far, I have no regrets switching to Roborock.

r/NARWAL · Freo Z Ultra Pathing and no on board water tank?

Object avoidance is generally good but mine still failed to recognise some think power adaptor cable and got stuck a few times. I returned it and getting Q Revo Master delivered today. I compromised in other areas because of Narwal's object avoidance benefit but thought if it's not infallible, may as well get Roborock for its other benefits.

The path, single path is a loop around the room zig zags across the room.. double path will take the paths on the cross pattern.. it also does S paths to disturb the debris from another angle and get it from there. No on board water - I prefer the mops to be washed the way I wash a manual mop. This was the primary reason I started using Narwal when they first came out. You can set the mop washing frequency and the dampness level.

    r/NARWAL · How‘s Narwal Freo Z Ultra mopping performance?

I found mopping performance to be good, but not great. It claims to apply more pressure to tile than wood floors, and I think the difference is noticeable. I did a test of 1 tbsp dried batter on hardwood and it took 11 passed for the Freo Z to get it all. For comparison, it took a Dreame L20 8 passes, Roomba J9 3 passes, and Braava M6 2 passes. It's not able to get into grout lines in tile or grooves between hardwood planks, like back-and-forth moppers do (M6 in particular). It also doesn't get edges all that well. Better than J9 but not nearly as good as Dreame and M6. But I think it's good enough for most cases and its overall robotic capabilities make up for its cleaning performance shortcomings.

r/NARWAL · Freo Z Ultra Pathing and no on board water tank?

It didn't seem overly consistent but close to a tank per mopping, about 500-600sqft. Mine was problematic from day 2, and their support just wasn't there to respond and answer any questions. The $30 detergent pod ran out in the first week, even with edge mode on it would just skip spots it didn't feel like doing 🤷‍♀️, it kept flooding itself, it wouldn't get the dust/hair out of the vacuum and into the base bag and somehow it would then end up under the vacuum and soaked in water which made the whole unit stink like sewage so I'd have to take the base tray out every few days and hose it out... Just lots of babysitting in general, and then no support. I will say that I miss the helping hand as a single person in too much house that does cat rescue but... If the eufy isn't what I'm hoping for and I thought the narwal was better I'd just rebuy the freo Z with all the accessories at Costco instead of directly through narwal. Though the Costco package is currently sold out.

r/NARWAL · Freo Z Ultra Pathing and no on board water tank?

The crazy pathing I have found is usually when it goes back a second or third time to clean up. There are different modes too, you can set it to smart or meticulous as two examples. Once it decides your floor is clean enough to only mop once I found that mine tends to do lines. Regarding the refilling... When I had the detergent pod with mine it would clean and clean and clean and I'd have to change the water 2-3 times per mopping. Once the pod ran out it stopped doing the repeated mopping and would usually only take a single tank, even on max humidity :) Hope this helps? I returned mine, going to try the eufy s1 Omni next as a hard surface only household.

r/RobotVacuums · Narwal Freo Z Ultra vs Eufy S1 Pro Omni vs Roborock Qrevo Curv

Narwal Freo Z. I found The Narwal Freo Z's object avoidance to be great! However, it left much to be desired when comparing its quality of vacuuming, mopping, its mapping timing, ease of customizing and dividing rooms, and time to finish simple tasks like vacuuming a room. I was so looking forward to testing this flagship, and the app looked so promising, but the Narwal Freo Z was the most frustrating experience of the three flagship robots discussed on this thread, and of all of the six flagship combo robots that I tested. Object detection was not great. Although it ran over cables, then backed over them eventually freeing itself, it did avoid shoes. Basic vacuuming was horrible! And the Freo Z literally took six hours to get through HALF of an 1800 sqft mop job on a normal clean level setting! Frustrating! (5/10) The Roborock Qrevo Curv was the most aesthetically pleasing of the three. It performed well vacuuming on carpet and vacuuming mostly well on sides and hard to reach corners, and it has an incredibly robust and useful app. The mop pad extension is a fantastic feature, and it was the only robot that removed a strategically placed coffee stain in the kitchen. Well, it MOSTLY removed the stain. I'm sure it would have completely removed it if it were set to a more intense cleaning mode. But it did not handle pet hair well at all, leaving plenty of hair along the baseboards. I might have chosen the Qrevo Curv based on its single brush extension and mop extension features, but as I was testing its Vac & Mop feature on coffee grounds in the kitchen, it made a pass with the brush sweeping one half of the grounds and immediately mopping. When it returned to complete the pass the remaining grounds were on the left side of the machine where there is no sweeper, and I a wet mop pad, effectively trailing ice coffee for the rest of its run. Object detection for the Qrevo Curv was not very good, running right over cords and bumping into small objects. But the app for the Roborock is FANTASTIC! It is so customizable and allows such freedom and granularity, it should win an award by itself! (6/10) The Eufy S1 Pro Omni was the most solid vacuuming and mopping of all of the three vacuum/mop combos discussed on this thread. The app, however, has the fewest features. The S1 Pro Omni's double sweeper and cylindrical rolling mop outperformed the other two vacuum mops in all of the tests performed, with the exception of corner mopping and vacuuming. Its vacuuming of carpets and pet hair is outstanding! It way outperformed the others in mopping by easily completely removing coffee and other stains and messes. It did have a few misses as it approached kitchen cabinet overhangs, and corners., but give. That the others left debris behind, and mopped with it, I felt this was a fair trade-off. The high quality and consistency of cleaning and mopping, and the convenience of the mop's self-maintenance pushed the Eufy S1 Pro score ahead of the other two, despite the more basic app and lack of brush/mop pad extension. It cleaned the best, and it cleaned itself the best! (8/10)

r/RobotVacuums · Make me pull the right trigger: Roborock Qrevo Curv vs Narwal Freo Z Ultra

It depends on what matters most to you, in my opinion all the flagship robots will do an excellent job with cleaning regardless of which one you choose. To me the most important aspect is automation without requiring me to interfere as much as possible, that’s what I would pay such money for, so obstacle avoidance matters to me most. I won’t pay $1000s to get stuck notifications or smear stuff, that’s the only reason why I’m going with the eufy s1 pro. My second floor is mostly carpet so I got the L60 SES and it’s absolutely perfect and the price is amazing for what you get. Wait for black friday and the price of those 2 eufys combined will be cheaper than the 2 options you mentioned. The only reason to get the Curv is if you have thresholds, which I don’t. Narwal goes through tons of water and its navigation is just so bizarre and inconsistent from what I’ve seen in videos.

r/RobotVacuums · Suggestions? Narwal Freo Z Ultra vs. Roborock S8 MaxV

Yes Jamie andrews review it, and Said the hardfloor was below average, and the curv did suck a lot more dirt up in the carpet test. So yes freo has with no doubt the best avoidance system and mop system, but below average on hard floor and just normal on carpet. So with the curv you get almost the same mopping, better hardfloor and carpet and worse avoidance. If i was you, i would take both home and test them before making a decision.

r/RobotVacuums · Suggestions? Narwal Freo Z Ultra vs. Roborock S8 MaxV

Do you mean avoidance ? The master Got 10 out og 12 at vacuumwars and they have the same avoidance system ? And the freo z get terrible hardfloor and carpet reviews, vacuum is kinda the most importen feature of a robotvacuum ? Freo Z has the best avoidance and mop feature, but the curv is very close with the mops, and detergent, it take 1 sec to put in the water ? At almost the same Price i would say the curv is a nobrainer. Has much longer batterylife, Can handle higher treshold, has better vacuum on hardfloor and carpet.

Agree. No water tank on board is terrible for the Freo Z. If you have a big hardwood area, it'll take much longer than the Curv to complete the mopping task as it comes back to the base to wet the mop pads pretty frequent.

Thanks u/rattata_rock for sharing your experiences, I am glad I'm not the only one with such decision and that you're happy with your purchase. The integrated watertank isn't a deal breaker, do you have any objections of the un-mopped surface remaining around edges? Thank you for your comment u/Mathrania, I've checked this, but it doesn't seem Narwal brand is much present here in Spain and the one Freo Z Ultra I found elsewhere is around EUR 1000 mark, which is above what I'm willing to spend this time.
