r/homeautomation · Why do robot vacuums still need so much hands-on effort? (Expectation vs. Reality)

The mopping on the Eufy S1 Pro is phenomenal. I don't know if other companies have caught up in the last 18 months since I got it but it has actual clean / dirty water tanks and washes the mop as it works. I could feel the difference on my floors AND the water it pulls up is disgusting. Vacuuming was similar on both, so I'd guess newer roborock models would be better than the vacuuming on the Eufy S1 Pro. I'd still get the new Eufy. The only knock against it is that the dock doesn't have a direct plumbing model which is something I want to do to avoid removing the stinky water. They have an add-on kit but it's somewhat clunky compared to Roborock which offers a model without a dock water tank specifically for plumbing in.

r/RobotVacuums · A Sneak Peek of The Eufy Omni S2 Robot Vacuum! Welcome To The Future of Robot Vacuum Technology! Part 2 of 2

I think if you’re in the market for a robovac in this price range it has some very good upgrades over the S1 Pro. There’s a lot less maintenance, better suction power, and ability to climb on to high pile rugs and carpet with the S2. So some of those items may be worth the upgrade for you depending on your situation. I had personally planned to buy the S2 when it launched prior to becoming a beta tester. I’ve had a very good experience with the S1 Pro and think the roller mop system is the best for my situation.

r/RobotVacuums · A Sneak Peek of The Eufy Omni S2 Robot Vacuum! Welcome To The Future of Robot Vacuum Technology! Part 2 of 2

I really do believe it would be great for that purpose. The brush does not clog and the air filtration does not clog either. You could set up a daily zone cleaning of the litter box area to maintain it. I would probably recommend 2x cleaning mode to ensure you get it all picked up. I would also recommend daily usage to keep the cat hair swept up. I don’t own pets but my wife and daughter have longer hair. I constantly pulled hair out of the ends of the S1 Pro on a weekly basis. I’ve never had to pull a strand of hair out of the S2 Duo Spiral brush. It’s that good at anti tangle. I hope this helps.

    r/RobotVacuums · Eufy X10 Review after 350+ hours

I own an S1 Pro. I use it mostly on LVP (hard) flooring, but also manually run it upstairs on all carpet. It's scheduled to mop twice a week and vacuum twice a week, all overnight, so I get to see the difference in performance between vac/mop and vac only. It's been close to two months now, and so far, I've been pleased with its performance. Tracked-in leaves and misc debris are gone in the morning, no matter the cleaning mode. Today, I opened something packed in styrofoam, which left those styrofoam crumbs everywhere; one room vac later, and the crumbs were gone. Vacuum performance has been satisfactory. It's not great at handling hair tangles, but otherwise seems to do the job. The upstairs carpets are noticeably cleaner now than before. This is my first robot floor cleaner, so no basis of comparison with anything else, including the X10. Not sponsored. :-) It's an anecdote, and I might just be lucky.

r/RobotVacuums · Concerns About the Market

The Eufy S1 Pro also have an available plumbing hookup kit. Roller mops do have drawbacks that need to be considered. Some people really need better edge and corner cleaning, and roller robots are years behind spinning-pad robots in getting that feature right. They're also just now getting smart mopping features like dirt detection and automatic re-mopping. I don't believe there's such a thing as a "secondary" feature. Your secondary feature is my absolute requirement. To pick some examples, pretty much everyone would love a robot that moves clothes off the floor, and I see lots of posts of thresholds in this subreddit with people asking "can a robot handle this?" Stair-climbing would be excellent, but thresholds are easier to do. By contrast, if I had to plumb my robot for it to work, that would be a deal-breaker for me. I don't have a good place to hook into plumbing on my ground floor.

r/RobotVacuums · Sneak Peek: Vacuum Wars Review of the Ecovacs Deebot X8 Pro Omni

I have a Eufy S1 Pro. It requires vacuuming while mopping, which I think is intended to help with this problem. Also, there's a mesh screen in the onboard dirty water tank that collects debris and keeps it out of the tank, which you have to clean. I do mine weekly, which seems to be enough. Edge support with roller mops is hit-or-miss. Mine doesn't have an extending roller, so I get about a half-inch of unmopped floor around the walls which I have to manually mop occasionally when I notice it getting dirty. So far, the ones with extending rollers seem to improve on the situation, but still miss things. The spinning pad robots are clearly ahead in this area for the moment. It's important to recognize that rollers are better, but not perfect. They handle tougher stains and messes, but aren't all-powerful. I still soak up excess liquid from messes before sending the robot out, and I have it mop a much larger area than just the mess, and set it to run 2X. This gives the self-cleaning system time to really get the roller clean by the second pass, and the results are spectacular when I do that.

r/RobotVacuums · Looking for feedback on Ecovacs deebot X8 pro omni vs Eufy S1 omni pro vs Eureka J20 robot vacuum mops

I've had a Eufy S1 Pro since October, and am quite happy with it so far. Observations on using it: * The mop is excellent. I've used it to clean up actual spills and pet accidents (after soaking up excess liquid with paper towels in the latter case). The mop is definitely the banner feature for this robot. * It is also good at obstacle avoidance, which was important for us as we have a dog. It's only had a few incidents with cords and a small plastic bag in all the time since we've had it. * Edge vacuuming is OK. Corner vacuuming is less good; not up to what robots with extending side brushes can do, but better than a typical robot. Mopping edges leaves about a half-inch unmopped border, which you'll have to touch up manually every so often; ditto with corners. * Carpet vacuuming is OK, but not class-leading by any stretch. The brush roller should prevent actual hair tangles, but it does tend to collect hair on the axle ends (which it's designed to handle; there's space for hair to collect). You'll need to clear out the hair from the main brush and the two side brushes every so often. I don't have experience with as many pets as you have; if there were a place where you might find this robot lacking, it's here. * Maintenance of the onboard dirty water tank will take a little extra time. There's an internal screen to separate out debris from the dirty water which will need frequent cleaning. I do mine once a week, but I could probably space it out more if I wanted to. (I mop twice a week plus one-off jobs.) * The app is pretty good. No frills, but simple, and it does the main things it needs to do: mapping, scheduling, basic map editing, no-go zones and virtual walls, that sort of thing. It also has reminders for many periodic maintenance tasks. * There are directions for setting up Alexa, but I haven't tried it. There's a S1 non-Pro as well, which is a little cheaper usually. It doesn't have the ozone generator for disinfecting the water, can't be hooked up to plumbing, and uses the slightly worse navigation and obstacle avoidance from the Eufy X10. It's worth looking into whether the extra features in the Pro are worth the cost to you. Finally, I don't have direct experience with the Ecovacs or Eureka, but reviews of those two have not been great. Check out Vacuum Wars on the Eureka, and Just A Dad on the Ecovacs.

r/RobotVacuums · Are YouTube reviews misleading?

95% of them are sponsored, so take that as you may. But the Narwal Freo Z is great at mopping as it can apply quite a bit of pressure for tile and returns to its base to wet/clean its mop pads often. It doesn’t just spin around dirty mop pads and rewet them. However, It uses a ton of water, even on its lighter settings and has poor edge mopping. Not great, but not the worst on carpet. I find their cleaning algorithm annoying, but their AI avoidance is at the top. The Eufy S1 Pro is excellent at mopping (maybe the best!), terrible at carpet and lacks edge cleaning also. It’s a tank though with a nice app. I’m waiting on Roborock to do a roller. I like their app the best, but I just don’t care for rotating mop pads. I’ve been happy with my S8 Max V.

r/RobotVacuums · Looking for a gift for my wife that can help her with house vacuuming & mopping

Cords and deep cleaning carpet is gonna get you. You’re gonna have to give something up. Dyson is the best carpet vac, but has terrible navigation and poor battery life. Narwal has the best AI, which you’ll need to avoid cords. The best mop is still the Eufy S1 Pro, but it can’t vacuum carpet very well. All have trade offs. You have to narrow it down.

    r/RobotVacuums · Eufy Omni S1 Pro

You have the perfect use case for it. It's possibly the best robot for people with hardfloors. Eufy typically does worse than Roborock and Dreame when it comes to vacuum performance so you will find the mop roller filter will catch a lot of debris with the S1, but the constantly cleaning mop design of the s1 prevents scratching unlike spinning mop designs.

    r/RobotVacuums · Eufy X10 Review after 350+ hours

The s1 does objectively have the best mopping performance out of the robots right now. Maybe get one and see how the vacuum performance pans out and return it if it doesn't pick up debris. The QRevo Master/Curv as well as the Dreame L40/X40 perform very well on hard floors as well but they have the spinning mop type.

    r/RobotVacuums · Eufy X10 Review after 350+ hours

The S1 is no doubt a good mop. The roller style vacuums will do a better job of mopping than spinning pads since the roller is constantly cleaned. The issue though is that the S1 likely uses the same vacuum system as the x10 and will suffer from poor debris pickup which then the mop will pick up. If you look at the reviews for the S1, a common complaint is that the mop mesh filter gets clogged with debris. This is likely because the vacuum doesn't pick anything up, leaving the mop to pick it up.

From what I've been seeing, they have similar if not identical vacuum systems. The x10 and Omni score similarly in the instrumented/controlled testing which implies they have similar systems.

r/RobotVacuums · Black Friday Week Tips/Recommendations from a Robot Tester.

It scored 7.5/10 in our stain test and 8/10 in our hard floor pickup test. I find the X8 pro omni to be a better value over the S1, since it scored 9/10 in our stain test and 8/10 in our hard floor pick up test. The S1 is better at obstacle avoidance and has a user replaceable battery, though.

r/RobotVacuums · Prime Day Recommendations from a Robot Tester

Oh interesting! This does make a lot of sense for the X10, and I know there's a feature on the S1 Pro called "Height detection sensitivity" which you can set in different modes. The free mode allowed it to move without issues under a TV stand with a 10 cm (3.9") clearance in our maneuverability test, however in the medium and safe modes it would not go under it. This robot doesn't have a spinning LIDAR on the top of it, though. That being said, the X10 at the time we tested it was very clumsy with its navigation even without overhangs. These are all great suggestions! I've sent this message over to our test devs. Some of the things you've mentioned are already on our radar, and we do cover a few things you've mentioned already so it's good to see we are aligned!

r/RobotVacuums · Prime Day Recommendations from a Robot Tester

It's great for hard floors, but struggled with carpet and pet hair on carpet. Its obstacle avoidance in the top three of the vacuums we've tested, scoring 8.8/10. Its mopping was good too! You'll likely have to clean hair out of the brush roller like I mentioned in my post, but that usually takes 2-3 minutes and is fairly straight forward. It's a bit louder than other flagships, and pretty tall so it won't be able to fit under all furniture.

    r/RobotVacuums · Eufy e25 or roborock curve s5x

If mopping is your main priority, you should just look at Eufy. The spinning mops are outdated; they have only one water tank, which means they must return to the base to wash the mop. But eufy S1 Pro, E28, and E25 have two water tanks, allowing them to wash the mop while mopping, so they don’t spread dirt around. I have a UK version of E25, and I love it! It’s so much better than my previous spinning mops.

I had the Ecovac T50 max and after about a month the base started leaking and ruined the hardwood under it. Not sure if it was a faulty seal or what. The spin mops got really nasty too and it wasn’t that great at vacuuming. I returned it and went with the Eufy S1 pro. I’ve only had it a week but it is a beast so far. The mop is unbelievable. So much better. There are a few less features than the Ecovac (like no camera) but it just feels like a better product all around. It’s premium and if it matters, it looks cool lol. So far, about a week in, I definitely recommend.

Yes you physically move it to a different floor that has a preconfigured floor plan. So their software knows that there is no base station on that floor. So it shouldnt look for a base station on that floor once it finishes cleaning, it should just go back to the start position… Could easily be fixed via a software update, yet hasnt been done for months…

However, some people still seem to have leak issues with this "new" reservoir/filter. I heard from Eufy support that they are currently working on another new design of the reservoir that should fully eliminate the leaks. It should be released soon. If you have a lot of fur on the floor, try the "vacuum + mop" mode and set the suction to the highest level. It definitely vacuums and mops at the same time. I understand that the mop is wider than the suck section, but therefore the robot has the two side arms in the front to throw the dust/fur into the vacuum hole. When the vacuum makes turns, I do understand your point that sometimes the rolling mop might cover parts that the front/middle of the robot (vacuum) hasn't reached yet. In that case, I understand your point. For now, you can start a vacuum session first and once it finishes, do a mop session. Although that is a bit extra work indeed. Your idea would be a nice little feature to add as well.

I just bought and began using the S1 Pro a couple weeks ago and it has been really good. My home has hardwood and tile with rugs. The S1 does a great job of sweeping/vacuuming and mopping. It is very fast & efficient at navigating compared to the Neato robot vacuums I had in the past. The obstacle avoidance seems to work well and it cleans itself on the base after each run which is awesome. I have been reading about the maintenance requirements and it seems more involved than other robot vacuums; However the app tells you when each service is due and there are replacement parts for everything available. The Eufy Clean app functions well but lacks some sophisticated controls of other robot vacuums. So far I am very happy with how the S1 Pro performs.

r/RobotVacuums · Make me pull the right trigger: Roborock Qrevo Curv vs Narwal Freo Z Ultra

We have a shedding dog with medium hair and a boatload of tile and some area rugs. The Eufy - albeit our first machine - has been a game changer. I like its software very much but I’d change a few small things, and it mops like a champ. The station holds water and refills the roaming unit when needed and holds the dirty water - so it operates with little input from us except to change the two water vessels. And that it cleans its mop as it goes is great. With so much ground to cover it returns to the base to empty / refill or charge as needed. The vacuuming levels are from quiet to strong and it transitions from tile to rug very well. It could be better in corners. That’s the only knock. It dries its mop very well and uses very little cleaning fluid while doing a great job. I’m not keen on using chemicals when naturals will do so I’ll be experimenting with vinegar etc when the provided fluid runs out, but it keeps on lasting… sigh. I think the Eufy is doing a great job.

The S1 pro cleans my main floor everyday at 1am, never needed to remove clutter, it never gets stuck, floors are always squeaky clean and carpets are well vacuumed (carpets are 10% of my floor, rest is hardwood and tile). It depends on what matters most to you, in my opinion all the flagship robots will do an excellent job with cleaning regardless of which one you choose. To me the most important aspect is automation without requiring me to interfere as much as possible, that’s what I would pay such money for, so obstacle avoidance matters to me most. I won’t pay $1000s to get stuck notifications or smear stuff, that’s the only reason why I’m going with the eufy s1 pro. My second floor is mostly carpet so I got the L60 SES and it’s absolutely perfect and the price is amazing for what you get. Wait for black friday and the price of those 2 eufys combined will be cheaper than the 2 options you mentioned. The only reason to get the Curv is if you have thresholds, which I don’t. Narwal goes through tons of water and its navigation is just so bizarre and inconsistent from what I’ve seen in videos.

That’s not true. Lift the top cover from your S1 and read for yourself: Eufy recommends to vacuum 1-3 times before mopping. The reason is that the mop roller is much wider than the mouth of the vacuum. If you really have a lot of fur on the floor you will see that vacuum and mopping at the same time produces no satisfying results. There is much gut left on the floor. In the docking station the fur will fall from the roller and jam the drainage.

May I add another missing feature? If you have floors dirty with fur Eufy recommends to vacuum before mopping. This is really essential as otherwise the mopping roller will pick up the dirt and starts to get messy. But there is no feature like „vacuum before mopping“ in the app available. Roborock has this feature.

My S1 Pro’s dirty water tank ( the one in the robot vacuum ) get disgusting. I’m wondering how you never have to clean it for the flow 2. Do you notice any smells or dripping dirty water spots? Any negatives on it? A never cleaned tank has to get super stanky. An answer would be super helpful. TY!

I’m hoping this unit will It’s an expensive purchase and doesn’t seem much better than some of the midrange bots, but I had the money… so why not. I just hoping it performs better than my s1 pro in those corners

r/RobotVacuums · A Sneak Peek of The Eufy Omni S2 Robot Vacuum! Welcome To The Future of Robot Vacuum Technology! Part 2 of 2

Yes, I'm most curious to see what hardware changes are being made - firmware updates are one thing, but the device itself is something else. Perhaps nothing outwardly dramatic, I expect...likely related to internal circuity. We shall see.... Indeed the S1 Pro that I have has the ability to work with Alexa, however the commands are very limited at this point, basically 'start cleaning'; 'stop cleaning'; 'go home'; and 'find my robot.' How convenient it would be to ask it to 'vacuum the kitchen' on the fly without pulling up the app.

r/RobotVacuums · 1 year later with the 3i S10 Ultra — still the best robot vacuum I’ve owned

I normally don’t comment on stuff like this, but I’ve actually owned and tested a lot of robot vacs including the Eufy S1 Pro, X10 Pro Omni, Roborock S7/S8 Max Ultra, Roomba j7+, Braava m6, and Yeedi Cube Pro & more. They all clean well/ok but the BIGGEST difference I’ve noticed is maintenance. Most of them require frequent water refills and cleaning every few days. The S1 Pro is the only one I’ve used where I don’t constantly have to deal with the water system, which is why I prefer it. That’s just my personal experience not saying it’s the best for everyone. https://preview.redd.it/mppoqj9i79fg1.jpeg?width=1206&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=349101d23575750cf89a95040e364189fa5ce8e1

id take the eufy e25 personally, they updated the tank issue and it is really good, i have the S1 pro and e25, vacuum wise, the e25 is better, mopping department both are the same the e25 does spin 10rpm's more but that's a tiny difference. you can hook up the s1 pro to a plumbing system but that's an extra to buy if that's what you want.

r/RobotVacuums · Had Enough- Dreame Aqua 10 ultra is going back - what should I get as a replacement?

I wouldn’t say it had mildew, it’s fully dry and just doesn’t smell pleasant and that’s after a few days of use. My floors are actually quite well kept and I don’t have a dog. Put in mind that I’m constantly comparing to the S1 Pro that I lived with for a year and the Eufy’s roller always smelled like detergent and is always super clean. Maybe the ozonated water made a difference or the fact that the Z60 housing captures gunk that doesn’t automatically get cleaned. I also noticed that the base station gets dirty super fast on the Z60 as opposed to Eufy. Overall I don’t feel it’s the best design and I’m sure they’ll make changes for the 2nd generation, put in mind that people are paying more than a $1000 so it’s a big investment. I was super excited when I bought it and expected to keep it for the long run. The S1 Pro got so many things right that I’m having very high hopes for the S2 and frankly decided to just wait for it and pass on the current roller mop robots (although testing one from Costco soon just because).

r/RobotVacuums · Had Enough- Dreame Aqua 10 ultra is going back - what should I get as a replacement?

The funny thing is I got rid of my S1 Pro cause it had a filter inside that needed cleaning and I liked the idea of not having to do that maintenance, boy was I wrong. Apparently the lack of filter means that all that gunk goes in the nooks of the housing and on the fluffer. It’s really not pleasant at all doing that maintenance and it was a lot easier on the S1 Pro. They’ll just need to make different design decisions on those robots.

r/eufyS1Pro · Eufy Omni S1 Pro REVIEW - Everything Wrong With It (Bugs/Flaws/Annoyances)

We've had our Eufy S1 Pro for a year and been very disappointed. It leaves roller streaks on our lino, that is predominantly clean most of the time as we have no children or pets. It doesn't have to work very hard to clean our floor, yet it always looks bad. We clean the internals on the machine once a week (with a toothbrush & with great detail) but it still does an average job even when freshly cleaned. Then we reverted to doing one room each day in order to give the machine a "rest". This was a tip given by somebody on the internet. Still the same outcome. More recently, the machine lost the map, so we tried to reset it a dozen times and yet it continually fails to find home base. It goes round & round until it loses battery charge. We paid $2600 for the Eufy S1 Pro and wouldn't recommend it.

The first gen xiaomi auto mopping bots didn't have them built in and they told their customers to buy the modules and use them. Now all the xiaomi models have them pre installed. A subscription model implies the machine won't last and they require to send you new stuff, you realize? I mean I can't say for certain it's always a bad idea to necessitate a gray water tank and separate pumping systems for gray and ocean water... But that's obviously a problem for such a dense & compact piece of tech and I've seen what comes out in my dirty water tank.. no way a gen 1 robot is handling the gray water well. There's also a reason our sewer lines are wider than fresh water lines. Handling gray water just requires more care, and mechanically speaking, the thing that does it better be to use with wide margins, but it's a robot made by eufy, ofc it doesn't have wide margins or excellent planning. Eufy regularly releases stinkers to market, more than a lot of other brands, so it's just bad practice to get the gen 1 product that costs more than the industry leaders gen3 (now gen 5/6) product. Even switchbot couldn't make the roller mop work. I'm curious to see if any xiaomi brand adopts it but I'm fairly certain they won't, beyond a "scuba" style dedicated machine.

Yeah your floors are clean bc the dirt is in your dirty water tank. What don't you understand? You think the surfaces that absorb our foot juice are magically clean and bacteria free? Idk about the specifics of eufys failed design, but mama.... When you clean something, you're removing dirt, and it must go somewhere, which in the case of a mop, is the dirty water. These machines use ml of water when people use Liters to clean their floors. The sewage these things generate is concentrated in a way previous cleaning methodologies have avoided (have you ever used a Bissell crosswave or similar?) Having a dirty water tank onboard is a huge choice for eufy and I wonder why the industry leader didn't do that... And why all mopping robots require silver ion cartridges (to prevent biofilm buildup). I understand your concerns but you also must join us in reality.

r/eufyS1Pro · Eufy Omni S1 Pro REVIEW - Everything Wrong With It (Bugs/Flaws/Annoyances)

Went through two of these buggers last week! Got a refund in the end. I’m not sure this model is up to scratch. I bought a Eufy S1 Pro last week (June 2025) from local retailer. I have other Eufy stuff I like, and I really wanted a robo mop vac with a self cleaning roller mop, so this was the obvious choice. It mapped pretty well. Vacuuming was good, but was definitely not quick. It kept going back and doing the same areas over and over. Most disappointing, it decided to vac/mop perpendicular to the direction of the floor boards and there’s no way to change that in the app at the moment (others you can, I believe). So cross-hatch streaks. And that also means it took forever to mop our long rectangular kitchen because it decided it would do all of these tiny little 1m runs and time-wasting turnarounds back and forth in the short (wrong) direction instead of just a few long runs in the long (right) direction. Robots are meant to be smarter than people. Even I wouldn’t have done that. But the roller mopping was very effective at cleaning. So it’s a good concept I think. Dirty water was surprisingly dirty, from what was originally a clean-looking floor. Another thing; it would be good if it could do a ‘mop only’ run and shut off the vac. I think other brands can. Currently the only options are ‘vac only’, or ‘vac and mop at the same time’. That means you can’t just mop bathrooms if they’re already damp. You’d get wet gunk being sucked up into the vac and creating chaos in the works I reckon (I’m not an engineer). None of that matters though, because I only got one run out of it before it came up with error code EB1J; meaning the station couldn’t pump the dirty water out of the bot at the end of the run. None of the suggested fixes in the app/base station were relevant or worked. Stripped everything down. Not a case of clogs anywhere. The filters were clear. No coarse debris anywhere. All seals OK. Customer support via the app gave me the same list of suggested fixes via email that I already had in the app, then they shut up shop and I didn’t hear from them again. I suspect a dodgy pump. In the end, it took we’ll over 3 hours of mucking around, dirty hands, dirty water all over the floor, cussing in front of the kids, for a job I could have done contentedly listening to a podcast in 20 mins. I boxed it up, cleaned up all the mess, and took it back and got a replacement brand new shiny Eufy S1 Pro. Same exact problem with the replacement 🤪. EB1J error. Same mess, same response from customer service, same swear words. I took that second one back that day and got a refund $ and called it quits. But jeez, the time I wasted last week with all that stuffing about! I haven’t seen any others with this problem though (haven’t really looked that hard to be honest), so I guess it was just a dodgy batch. But I’m not going to risk it again - there is something not right with the design of the water extraction fo sho in my uneducated opinion. And other things are not up to standard; I wouldn’t be happy living with not being able to control the direction of travel anyway, or not being able to mop bathroom floors, even if I jagged a working copy with attempt #3. Now contemplating waiting for the Ecovacs x9 pro Omni to come out in Australia, or maybe the Mova.

Mix of floors and 2 huskies, have 3 scheduled cleaning tasks daily, used to be great, pretty easy to maintain at least in comparison to roborock’s. I have an s1 pro that worked great UNTIL a firmware update end of March - now it’s a total pain and screws up daily. I’ve had to reset it entirely to the point of removing and reinstalling the app even & replacing everything on the robot to no avail, it loses its way, stops in the middle of tasks, stops in the middle of a room for no reason, can’t dock within 2 feet of its home, battery error, skip a scheduled cleaning task, on and on. As I say, it was working GREAT until the firmware update, since it’s nothing but problems daily. I hate it now. I bought it 9/2024.

I have LVT flooring with a fake wood natural grain that cloves to collect dirt throughout my whole ground floor and I recently bought the eufy s1 pro and have been throughly impressed. I literally just plugged it in, it auto mapped the house and went on it way. I only touch it to put in extra water. I have a baby and multiple dogs so my floors are always getting muddy and cluttered with all sorts. It cleans and handles this very well. You can configure vacuum power (more power is louder) and how much water to use when mopping. It does really good on my rugs but not sure how great it would be on long pile carpet however my need was hard floors which it’s very good at cleaning and it’s objectively avoidance and navigation is awesome too. It genuinely impressed me how well it navigates around the house driving around objects as if a human was doing it.

It's going fairly well. I have been using 2-3 times a week to mop my place every week, for the past 3 months. I am fairly satisfied with it. Some key points/observations: \- The moping action is fairly decent. The floors feel clean after the robot is done. It will not remove very long dried stains (but I kind of expected this one). Anything recent stain, 1-2 days old, it will get it done. \- The battery life is good. It takes about 70 minutes for 750 sq ft mopping, and consumes about 30-40% of the battery. \- Longevity is my only concern now. If this thing lasts for 3 more years, I will be satisfied with it. There are few points that are annoying. \- My couch sits low and the robot cannot clean under it. Hence, it travels along the edge of the couch, cleaning. The fans of the robot throw the dirt/debris, under the couch in such a scenario, rather than picking it up. This is not a problem at the edge of the room, or the corners where the debris just bounces off the wall and is picked up the robot. \- Couple of times by now (last one just two days ago), I have received a "dirty water suction" error in the base station. Basically, somewhere along the drainage pipe from the robot to the dirty water tank, there is a blockage or loose fit between components. Solving this problem is very non-intuitive and usually involves just cleaning the pads, or the various holes/pipes along the path of the dirty water removal, till everything starts working. Usually takes 20-30 dedicated minutes. Please note that my robot is not put to a major task. \- I have hardwood floors at my place, with not many hidden corners, crevices. \- I live alone, no kids, no pets, so there is not much hair/debris in its path.

    Joints carrelageQualité-prixTaches au sol
    r/RobotVacuums · Eufy Omni S1 Pro

A few additional points to consider: \- I expect the app and its features to get better over time. That is not a major decision point currently. \- I expect the edge-cleaning problem to reduce as well. The hardware is there. Making it work (vacuuming/mopping closer to the edge) is just a software thing. I am hoping they keep working on it. \- Perhaps they will add a mop-only feature as well so that the robot can deal with big spills. Currently, the vacuuming is always on. I can see the logic behind the always-on-vacuuming (they don't want the mopping action to be damaged by some accidental debris). So, I wouldn't count on a mop-only mode later. \- From scanning the reddit forums, I gathered that Eufy's product support is much better than Dreame's. My other choice was Dreame L40 Ultra. I would have accepted a sub-par mopping performance in lieu of a great vacuuming performance. But Dreame's product support is apparently a nightmare and I do not want to be stuck with a $1000 lemon. \- Narwal Freo Z Ultra is backed by Costco's superior return policy. I would buy any high end product from Costco with peace of mind, in case it does not work.

My goodness my Roomba J7+ was so dang loud. I thought the eufy x10 pro Omni would be louder and I’ve seen to many mention it having trouble picking up debris on hard floor. I’ve seen mentions of the eufy x10 pro Omni and the eufy s1 pro having issues getting close to the edges of rooms and erratic pathing. Yes I agree this can be fixed with software but it won't know how to empty or charge if there's no base.. Perhaps it just sends a message out for help when it's not able to get to base..

r/RobotVacuums · Narwal Freo Z Ultra vs Eufy S1 Pro Omni vs Roborock Qrevo Curv

Narwal Freo Z. I found The Narwal Freo Z's object avoidance to be great! However, it left much to be desired when comparing its quality of vacuuming, mopping, its mapping timing, ease of customizing and dividing rooms, and time to finish simple tasks like vacuuming a room. I was so looking forward to testing this flagship, and the app looked so promising, but the Narwal Freo Z was the most frustrating experience of the three flagship robots discussed on this thread, and of all of the six flagship combo robots that I tested. Object detection was not great. Although it ran over cables, then backed over them eventually freeing itself, it did avoid shoes. Basic vacuuming was horrible! And the Freo Z literally took six hours to get through HALF of an 1800 sqft mop job on a normal clean level setting! Frustrating! (5/10) The Roborock Qrevo Curv was the most aesthetically pleasing of the three. It performed well vacuuming on carpet and vacuuming mostly well on sides and hard to reach corners, and it has an incredibly robust and useful app. The mop pad extension is a fantastic feature, and it was the only robot that removed a strategically placed coffee stain in the kitchen. Well, it MOSTLY removed the stain. I'm sure it would have completely removed it if it were set to a more intense cleaning mode. But it did not handle pet hair well at all, leaving plenty of hair along the baseboards. I might have chosen the Qrevo Curv based on its single brush extension and mop extension features, but as I was testing its Vac & Mop feature on coffee grounds in the kitchen, it made a pass with the brush sweeping one half of the grounds and immediately mopping. When it returned to complete the pass the remaining grounds were on the left side of the machine where there is no sweeper, and I a wet mop pad, effectively trailing ice coffee for the rest of its run. Object detection for the Qrevo Curv was not very good, running right over cords and bumping into small objects. But the app for the Roborock is FANTASTIC! It is so customizable and allows such freedom and granularity, it should win an award by itself! (6/10) The Eufy S1 Pro Omni was the most solid vacuuming and mopping of all of the three vacuum/mop combos discussed on this thread. The app, however, has the fewest features. The S1 Pro Omni's double sweeper and cylindrical rolling mop outperformed the other two vacuum mops in all of the tests performed, with the exception of corner mopping and vacuuming. Its vacuuming of carpets and pet hair is outstanding! It way outperformed the others in mopping by easily completely removing coffee and other stains and messes. It did have a few misses as it approached kitchen cabinet overhangs, and corners., but give. That the others left debris behind, and mopped with it, I felt this was a fair trade-off. The high quality and consistency of cleaning and mopping, and the convenience of the mop's self-maintenance pushed the Eufy S1 Pro score ahead of the other two, despite the more basic app and lack of brush/mop pad extension. It cleaned the best, and it cleaned itself the best! (8/10)

I have only one large carpet in the living room and what I discovered is that it can’t really recognize the carpet outline with enough accuracy. It won’t adjust its path to side mop the carpet but instead it stands half on the carpet and half outside it, with the mop lifted up. 2. If you remove the carpet after the first mapping and you start a new clean/mop cycle, it won’t recognize that the carpet is no longer there. Once it approaches the area where there was the carpet, it will lift the mop up. My expectation/requirement: I would like the robot to just vacuum the carpet and mop the outline of the carpet (outside, of course). Acceptable solution 1: the app should allow me to create manually a room where the carpet stands, so that I can program the vacuum in that room and mopping outside of tha room. Acceptable solution 2: when a new clean cycle starts, it should update the map. If the carpet is removed, then it should definitely mop

This is interesting. Mine is great. I think it’s because my apartment is small and I can just run the whole cleaning cycle in on go. I also got a new dirty water tank from them when I contacted them and also a new brush guard. It solved the problem and now I’m quite happy with it. Also since we are paranoid with the internet connection, it’s super useful that I can start the cleaning directly from the base station.

r/RobotVacuums · Long-Time Robot Vacuum User — Thinking About Jumping Ship Again

Regardless of my other comment - I apologize for offending you. Based on reviews and my needs im heavily leaning towards the Eufy Omni S1 Pro for the mop combo and the Eufy L60 for the carpeted areas - primarily non rubber brush and for the hair cutter. Albeit Im afraid the hair cutter is a gimmik that would l lead to another point of failure. I haven't had any Eufy branded items - their brand seems solid in other areas.

r/RobotVacuums · Track Mops vs Roller Mops vs Spinning Pads: Are the New ‘Real-Time Cleaning’ Robots Worth It?

That’s a fantastic analysis that I nerded out over! I have a Eufy S1 Pro and a recently purchased Mova V50 (despite the obvious differences), the Mova does a far better job of vacuuming (albeit duo brush, extending/lifting brush arm) than the S1. I have all hardwood 1st floor with occasional area rugs, and it does a great job of carpet and edges. If there’s a large liquid mess or large food debris, I’m usually not using a robot for that quick task.
