r/Roborock · Robot vacuum going up stairs

Can agree, I have an S5 from like 2018. I decided to "upgrade" for xmas to a CurvX until i realized how weak it is. I liked the machine otherwise but it sucked (not in a good way) at vacuuming carpet, my S5 picks up so much more dust, dirt, and pet hair. So I sent it back. I ended up getting an Ecovacs X11 which is far better with carpet and pet hair, but I still run the ol S5 from time to time as well, it is truly a beast.

I’m planning on selling my x60 max that I have at my other house as soon as I figure out how to install this auto refill drain flow 2 at my main house and replacing the x60 with my used flow 2. Honestly through all software updates the flow 2 has been the best mopper I’ve used, the other rollers I’ve owned that this replaced are the mova z60 and ecovacs x11. I really haven’t had any issues with the mop whatsoever

r/RobotVacuums · Eufy E25 Omni Vs Ecovacs X9 pro vs Mova P50 pro ultra

I have an X11 which is fairly similar to the X9. I got it mostly for its carpet performance which it has lived up to during the 4 months that I've had it. I was manually mopping my hard floors prior to getting it and unsurprisingly, those now feel so much cleaner having a powered roller mop regularly mopping it. I've been rather impressed with its ability to completely avoid cables kn the floor, including black cables on black carpet. I was expecting that to be an issue but it has yet to injest a single cable so far.

Awesome, you'll definitely see the results. For dull wood floors, I would first set the robot to do a deep clean with 2 passes. Once confirmed dry, depending on your floors based on if it's sealed or not, you can use a product like a wood floor polish or Revitalizer. However, I wouldn't use the robot to put down the polisher or Revitalizer. This is what I personally put on my wood floors: https://a.co/d/foRW85W

You're very welcome. Me being in the world of IT, I have a background in support and unfortunately this stuff isn't documented. I believe Ecovacs mentions a well lit area but that can't always be the case. I figured it out by trial and error and I let their Support team know that people have probably returned their unit from not knowing this. I think the laundry area will be a great spot for it to be tucked away. If you don't have any dark color rugs, mats, or carpets you should be fine to just ease into it. If you do have dark color rugs and mats, try doing the mapping during the day with everything well lit to see how it does and try it out. You can do a quick clean to make sure it goes over the dark color flooring. If not, do it at night in the dark. The only thing that I would suggest if you do it in the dark would be to only have the laundry room light on to make sure it can find the base station for the first time. You only have to do that once for the mapping and you will no longer have to have that light on if you ever clean in the dark. As far as the threshold, the robot will pick this up automatically and may detect it to auto map it especially after it goes over it and couple of times. You also have the option of seeing the threshold on the map so it will be recognized. Just remember, for the best clean, Deep Clean and AI Hosted will do the best but understand that it takes longer. With the AI clean, tell it exactly what you want it to do. When clicking on Agent Hosting, you'll see the option for Settings to tell the robot what to do. If I know it's be heavy traffic throughout, I would tell my robot to clean all of the tile floors with maximum water flow at 50 and the wood with a maximum set at 35 for the first pass and the second pass to go back over the tile floor at 35 water flow and the wood at 25. This is to make sure there's no streaking especially if you have glossy floor tile.

Yes, the X11 will cross carpet to mop. It will raise the roller when carpet is recognized. If you're considering the X11, it looks like they're coming out with the new X12 by the end of this month that's supposed to have even better features according to CEC. If looks like the new robot will have a cover that fully covers the mop roller and the roller will be larger. It looks like the key benefits will be the following: Larger roller mop Full mop cover to prevent carpets from getting wet More mopping pressure Front facing spray nozzle for pretreatmenting stains Everything else would be about the same.

r/ecovacs · ECOVACS DEEBOT X11 OmniCyclone - Real world feedback requested

You're very welcome. It will do pressured mopping in scenario clean as long as you have Deep Clean set for the scenario for those rooms. You can also set a Targeted zone cleaning and set it for Deep clean and the mop will do pressurized mopping. Scenario clean is indeed a custom mode which allows for you to customize exactly how you want to robot to clean each specific room. I have different scenarios that are set and even a scenario created by the AI mode. For the 2 - 3 rooms that will often require pressurized mopping, you can set the scenario for those rooms to do a deep clean and the others can be standard or even quick clean. One thing that I always do and highly recommend is to do a quick walk through of those 2 - 3 rooms to see if you see stains to know if you should pretreat or not. This became a habit for me since my T30S unit. It's not always necessary but it will optimize your clean. You can make your own pretreat spray which I've done in 16 ounce spray bottles that's PH neutral and safe for the robot. You can get the following: Biokleen Bac-Out Stain and Order remover This is an Enzyme cleaner that will loosen up stains that may be sticky or stuck on the floor without having to always use deep clean on your robot. This can be used on any floor type. 4 - 6 ounces of Bac-Out topped off with the rest water in a 16 ounce spray bottle will do you wonders. Naturally It's Clean Floor Cleaner Concentrate A $10 bottle of this goes a very long way and will probably last you for 2-3 years. This is another good Enzyme cleaner that's good for all flooring. 1 ounce of Naturally topped off with water in a 16 ounce spray bottle. Black Diamond Marble and Tile Cleaner Concentrate This cleaner is the go to cleaner for tile only. If you have a haze or dull looking tile, this will get rid of the haze and polish it up a bit. Remember, this is only for tile only and no other flooring. 4 - 6 ounces of Black Diamond topped off with water in a 16 ounce spray bottle. This will optimize your cleaning especially in the kitchen and high traffic areas. I recommend this for those 2 - 3 rooms if you feel you want to boost the cleaning efforts of the robot even more.

I can you some real world feedback. I've had the X11 now for about 2 months and I faithfully use it everyday and sometimes 2 - 3 times per day. It's by far the best robot vacuum and mop combo that I've had. I've had the T30S Combo Complete, T50 Max Omni, X9 Omni, and now the X11. The mixed reviews that you see may honestly be valid reviews but it may also be user error as well. I wasn't impressed with the X11 until I started really digging into the settings. This is what can make it seem like it's not good at all. If you really want to see the benefits of the X11, users don't get familiar with all of the settings and set them accordingly. Mapping with this robot is quick and easy but there are a few things to consider that you may see mixed reviews on. When mapping with the X11, I recommend having obstacles picked up. If you have dark color rugs or mats pick them up as well. You want it to be well lit in your home. In these conditions mapping should be quick and the layout should be just right. If you do not have a well lit home, the next option is to do it completely in the dark with keeping what I've mentioned in mind by removing all obstacles and picking up dark color rugs or mats. Once the mapping is complete, put everything back where it goes. Now the key to this robot is the settings. With the mapping complete, set the floor type, boundaries, no mop zones, divide rooms, combine rooms, and anything else needed to complete the mapping. Put solution in the regular cleaning solution dispenser and heavy duty cleaning solution in that dispenser. If you go into the advanced settings of the station, you can set dedicated areas to use the heavy duty solution. I can't stress this enough but the magic is all in the settings. The robot settings, advanced settings, and station settings. Take your time exploring them. When everything is set and dialed in, this robot is amazing. When cleaning with this robot, you have several options. Quick Clean, Standard Clean, Deep Clean, Scenario Clean, and Agent Hosting clean. These cleanings are not the same at all. Quick clean will do a quick clean. I think of this setting as a broom and a rag. Standard clean will do just that. It does a few extra passes over quick clean. I think if this as a broom, dust pan and rag. Deep clean which is a much better setting that the quick and standard clean with basically 2 passes even if you set it to do one pass. I look at this as a broom, duster, microfiber rag, and a mop. This setting actually sets the mop to put down pressure to clean better which the Quick and Standard option doesn't put pressure down. Scenario clean is basically a combination of all of the cleaning settings mentioned above but you can tailor it to your needs by setting up the rooms you want done first, settings up the vacuum suction to be specific to each room, setting up the water flow for the mopping to be specific to each room. The benefits of this is you can tailor it to your needs and this is good to do on the go. I have about 8 different scenarios set. AI Agent Hosting in a nutshell is all of the cleanings combined in one. The benefits of this is it will give you the best clean and give recommendations on your cleaning habits and adjust itself accordingly. In my opinion, AI mode should not be used until you put at least 10 hours on the robot. This is because it goes by the cleaning logs, settings, habits, and all of the above. This setting is the best because it uses all of the sensors including the camera to detect stains even better. If you use this before cleaning habits are learned, it can take a very long time to clean. However, after your habits are learned, it will clean like a Scenario cleaning. AI mode detects stains better than any mode and it will go over it multiple times if needed versus what you actually set. If your water flow is too high, you'll know because this robot will show signs of liquid spills that the robot was cleaning up. Pro: Bagless Quiet (I use it late at night) Dedicated solution tanks Onboard light to clean in the dark Onboard camera Roller mop Great suction power Quick mapping (Keeping in mind what I mentioned) Easily goes over thresholds Great obstacle avoidance You get rewards just checking in and doing daily task that can go towards any Ecovacs purchase Cons: You may have to prep to map to ensure best mapping Slower than some robots (But it cleans better) Black rugs, mats, and carpet can be a challenge but the workarounds mentioned can be used to resolve this. Overall experience, I'm very satisfied with my investment.

r/RobotVacuums · Dreame L40 ultra ae (Australia) spare mop pads?

A few things, it's not very wide, so the robot has to do a lot of passes and takes a long time. It squishes dirt into the grouting of my tiles. The grouting is much filthier with this thing. Could be that it's not very good at vacuuming either so the mop is trying to do the heavy lifting, but failing. Leaves little puddles of dirty water around the place, like a teaspoon worth. Just not very good in general. The best mop I have used is surprisinglt the Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra, which has an older drag mop style, but vibrates. works better than the spinny mops I have tried so far and that roller mop from the ecovacs. I think the roller mop has potential to be better once they design and engineering has been improved, but so far, not so good, albeit I did try it on the worst of the worst brands it seems. Just got the Saros 10R and setting it up today. I have hopes that it will have better spinny mop performance than the cheap Q series bots and the Dreame machines. Finding out shortly!

r/RobotVacuums · considering the Ecovacs Deebot X11 Omnicyclone - mixed reviews?

Whether it's worth it really depends on what you need. If you've got a big area to clean, prefer a bagless design, or care a lot about how well it handles pet hair, and this one checks those boxes, then yeah, it's probably worth it. But I'd wait a bit, there's a good chance you will get even better deal soon.

Plenty of good info here, but it boils down to yes this is a great robot but most people just don’t know how to actually use it. The “ai” features really hold it back especially initially, those should be auto locked for the first month of ownership. I bought a plumbing kit from aliexpress & have been hands free except dumping the dustbin & a weekly base station clean.

r/RobotVacuums · Dreame X50 Ultra Robot Vacuum - DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY

I stay away from dreame, had a similar experience as you & had four replacements all couldn’t hold a candle to my ecovacs X11. I have two dogs that frequently go in/out, one of them being a malamute so hair is a constant in our house. We have multiple levels & I keep a robot on each level, currently all of which are X11’s (one being the newest version with the sprayers in the front). I feel like such a product shill, but it’s by far the best robot vacuum I’ve owned for my use case. I used to exclusively stick with Roborock & would buy their flagship S series every year, but when I saw the X11 drop without a bag but still retain the features I was wanting I got it to try. Once you turn off the AI assist features the robot does a phenomal job cleaning, I’d say the Roborock S8 did a slightly better job at the corners, but it’s good enough to where I just lightly go over everything once every week or two with my own mop & it looks great. My only gripe about it is that you can’t tell it to just mop a room, it has to at least vacuum at its quietest setting while mopping (you can have it mop a small zone like for a spill, but that’s if). Not a huge gripe because it’s fairly quiet & helps keep the mop clean. I like how it has two seperate dosing systems for cleaning product & a bagless design for the dirt (still on my original filter for the base station, looks clean as well over a year old, switched out filters to see if it needed it & I just wasn’t noticing but it didn’t performing any better). Biggest thing for me (other than the bagless design) is how easy it is to clean. The base station has a tray you pull out where the mop gets cleaned, & the robot is fairly simple as well. My house would be called a very dirty house, & I just probably spend 5 minutes a week cleaning it (changing out the filters & mop on the robot & cleaning the mop tray). I used to go through a ton of bags every month, now I just buy a maintenance kit from Amazon for $10 each month where it comes with the filters, roller mops, & other parts for it. You don’t have to do this, but I run my robot two to three times a day so I just do it this way so I can ignore all the different maintenance reminders in the app (they’re staggered, ie 10 hours for this part 30 for this one). It’s GaN charging is also very nice, each robot cleans around 3,000 sq ft & I don’t think I’ve ever seen them under 60%. When it’s charging it actually has a counter where you can see the decimal points of the charging status & see it quickly charge in real time. I saw you mention clogs, the only one of mine that has clogged has been the one on the main level which is subjected to the most hair. Malamute hair is particularly clumpy so I fully expected it to happen. To date it’s only happened twice (not the base station but the robot itself). The only other brand I’d recommend is narwal, I was very happy with their product & still have mine but switched it out for the X11 simply because of the bagless feature.

r/RobotVacuums · Coming From iRobot - Need Recommendations

The ecovacs x11 might be worth a look for your situation. The battery and fast charging have been enough to cover my place in one run. The dustbin is also pretty large, so it can go several runs and last for a few month before needing to be emptied. With two goldens, that could be pretty helpful.

Not to go against the grain but aside from the first x11 I bought in september of last year that made it to the beginning of december i'm now onto my 3rd x11. All have failed with navigation module malfunctions. The last two wouldn't even complete a mapping run without the errors. I'm getting out of ecovacs entirely i've had the x2 the x5 the x8 and the x11. x5 didn't work out of the box. x8 i've replaced on warranty and its already starting to give me problems again and now 3 of the x11s. I don't even have many obstacles on my main floor (2300 sq ft ish). Kitchen table, Sectional, one chair and two coffee tables. I just can't beta test their stuff at well over 1000$ per try anymore.

I’m disappointed in the navigation. It rarely finishes cleaning my house. It regularly gets stuck or lost. One time it kept going back and forth vacuuming the same spot for 15 minutes until I stopped it. Ive added no-go zones and cleaned all the sensors. Lately I find it just stopped in the middle of the floor. I also have roborocks which are no where near this much trouble. I regret purchasing the X11.

So after using this for a few days, it seems like the biggest cause for inconsistency is the AI features. After turning off "AI Stain Detection", "Intelligent Deep Mopping", changing "AIVI 3D 3.0" to "Standard" and disabling "Protected Navigation Mode", its been running without issue or wonkiness. I also haven't noticed a change in its ability to obstacle detect either, still avoiding cords and whatnot.

Hello everyone, I don't have a huge amount of experience with the Ecovacs X11 yet, but what I can say is that it is a truly excellent machine in every aspect. I had the Dreame Aqua 10 for 2 months and ended up returning it. It was really poorly designed, with problems like the dust bin not emptying correctly. I also experienced leaks under the station, just like many other users. The AI was very poorly managed, the battery life was catastrophic, and this is absolutely not the case with the X11. The X11 is very powerful, with a cyclonic station that recharges at a lightning-fast speed. The dust bin is perfectly emptied and clean after every single vacuuming session. Plus, it does a particularly thorough job. I absolutely love the Agent Hosting Mode (or AINA Mode). I was even able to ask the AI to vacuum before mopping, and it takes this into account in this mode, making the right decisions for each room. For now, I am genuinely delighted with this robot. For me, it is truly a very, very good machine, and Ecovacs has made incredible progress. I hope the reliability will be there in the long run.

I hope the reliability will be there in the long run.

r/ecovacs · ECOVACS DEEBOT X11 OmniCyclone - Real world feedback requested

so originally I find that mapping was horrible, it would take several rooms and make it one large room, but going against directions and I did a map with the lights off and it did the best map ever. the AI hosting feature to clean takes forever, like my house is around 2600sq feet and after 13 hours it still wasnt done, it was just thinking way too much. Ive decided to use scenario cleaning only. It's faster and I have more control. I don't like how it uses more water rather than cleaning agent for mopping (I have hardwood floors). The roomba I had previously let me use Bona in their liquid container. You need to good amount of customizations to get things right, but after that, it does clean well, it's quiet and does a decent job.

r/RobotVacuums · considering the Ecovacs Deebot X11 Omnicyclone - mixed reviews?

I have one. I just reviewed it on my yt channel, and it's awesome! The Z60 scrubs a little harder when mopping, but the X11 has tighter edge-mopping, and is great all around, with one of the best docks and auto-emptying setups. They're going to run a really good Black Friday sale for it starting on the 20th (I can't announce the sale for them yet, but it's gonna be good). Whatever robot you get, it will be worth waiting until after the 20th before you purchase. I think they're all gonna run kickass sales.

r/RobotVacuums · considering the Ecovacs Deebot X11 Omnicyclone - mixed reviews?

What I can tell from various reviews is that people are generally satisfied and it’s a great product. Sure you will find mixed reviews, as with all robovacs. No one is perfect though. I think you shouldn’t lose yourself in trying to find the perfect robot based on reviews because then you will never get one. It’s a great product with great features. If it has everything you wish for, go for it. Unless you find some fundamental flaws.
