r/RobotVacuums · Track Mops vs Roller Mops vs Spinning Pads: Are the New ‘Real-Time Cleaning’ Robots Worth It? All good points. My 2 cents as someone who has both a track (A10 Pro Track) and spinning (x40 ultra) robovacuum at difference places, but very very similar conditions and flooring types: * **There's a noticeable difference in cleanliness with track mops,** even if there are no liquid spills. This is obvious simply from feet-feel. I don't know exactly why, my best guess is that spinning mops don't fully get rid of feet sweat/oils/and other more stubborn liquid (?) type build up on the floor. That said, it is not perfect and occasionally deep clean is still required. * **Difference in maintenance is marginal**. You still have to periodically clean the same things - internal dustbin (+water bin for track), internal dustbin area, sensors, dock. Yes there is more parts, but it is unlikely you will notice the difference. I don't consider refilling water a maintenance item, but it is important and more on that below. All that said, I wouldn't recommend people to run out and buy a track mop; there are clear compromises at the moment. For A10 Pro Track, the key ones are that a water hookup kit is almost a hard requirement, and it is not suitable for larger houses as the run time is half that of the X40. There also needs to be weird quirks/hardware issues that Dreame needs to iron out as a 1st gen. The whole experience has been incredibly frustrating for me. If I am to make an recommendation, it will be to wait till early 2026 for rollers and tracks to mature, then take a look at reviews and comparisons. The winner will probably be a lot clearer.

r/RobotVacuums · How Can We ( Vacuum Wars) Catch Real-World Issues in Robot Vacuum Reviews? MOVA is a dreame subbrand so the firmware quirks are usually the same. How is the MOVA Z50 ultra?
r/RobotVacuums · Dreame X50 Pro reviews are in. One small leap for robot vacuums, one giant leap in convenience. I think the reason why they released this is to win or at least get ahead of others in the arms race with other manufacturers over threshold crossing. Dreame initiated it by stating 22mm with the X40 Ultra, and Dreame then further went on the attack with the shuriken wheels that I think were the more elegant solution to climb the same threshold, and then Roborock responded with their robot P20 Pro that twerks up and down to climb thresholds up to 4cm tall (two thresholds needed for this). Now Dreame is trying to one-up them by getting over a single threshold but I don't really think the I'm going to fold and unfold my legs method is very good for longevity so I'll wait for their arms race to finish and we can all benefit with a much more mature threshold, if not stair-climbing solution.

r/RobotVacuums · I Was Wrong About Robot Vacuum Mops and What I'm Doing About It Good stuff. Please test for threshold crossing ability. Those of us in older homes really need that. Dreame x40 Ultra jumps stuff well enough, I have door mats over the 3/4 to 1" thresholds and it did ok. Not great but ok. All my previous roomba's managed it, the door mats are a direct result of a roomba a few years ago. Dreame stopped picking up the mops so it went home and I bought a Ecovacs T30s Deebot AI, It has a very hard time with thresholds. It gives up quickly and does not map well. For example, first time out, it was unable to leave the kitchen. So it mapped the kitchen and a space outside the kitchen that it could see was called a room. But it was only able to see 30% of the actual room. Sent it to clean that room. It jumped the threshold and cleaned the entire room. It did not update the map as the dreame would each run. Sent out for a remap. Got the center room and failed to get the hallway that did not have a threshold to cross, got 20% of another room it could't get in and didn't place a wall where there was a wall. So that is going home in a week or so when the replacement gets here. So I'm waiting on a Roborock Qrevo Curve. We will see where that goes.
r/Roborock · Saros 10R 24 Hour Review I want the Dreame x40 Ultra AI avoidance to be used in the Roborock Qrevo. Qrevo is a better robot but the Dreame never got stuck.

r/Dreame_Tech · Anyone still using the Dreame L10s Ultra? Still using it after 5582m² and it still works great the only thing i am not sure if works is the soap dispenser. The robot always leave a weird smell to humidity after mopping something that didn't happen before. I bought the model x40 ultra but white the robot itself has new stuff, I don't know what they did with the base but their suction power to clean the robot is awful. I have to clean it manually quiet often something that never happened with my l10s ultra.

r/Dreame_Tech · Dreame X40 ultra error 404 At this point there’s no real “fix,” just workarounds while you wait. Sometimes switching devices (Android ↔ iOS) or changing region can bypass it, but if multiple users are seeing it at the same time, it’s a server-side problem and has to be fixed by them. If support isn’t helping, all you can really do is wait it out or keep pushing them specifically on a “server/app sync issue,” not general troubleshooting. Unfortunately this is one of those cases where the hardware is fine, but the app makes it unusable.
r/Dreame_Tech · Dreame X40 ultra error 404 This isn’t really a robot issue, it’s almost always an **app/cloud problem**. The “Error 404” shows up when the app can’t properly load your device from Dreame’s servers, even though the robot itself is fine (that’s why you can still see battery but can’t control anything). Since you’ve already reinstalled and re-added it, that points more toward a backend sync issue or a bad rollout rather than something on your end. Best things to try are switching to another phone (or iOS vs Android), temporarily changing app region, and making sure no VPN/adblock/custom DNS is interfering. If that doesn’t change anything, it’s likely server-side and you’re stuck waiting for it to resolve. If it’s still broken after a day or two, escalate to support, because at that point it’s not user-fixable.
r/Dreame_Tech · Stuck between Dreame L50, X50, L40 and X40 (high thresholds) “Gentle edge” just means the mat shouldn’t have a sharp vertical lip. Anything with a soft slope or rounded front lets the robot treat it like a tiny ramp instead of a wall. Even a cheap IKEA doormat works if the front edge isn’t stiff. On L40 vs X40: • **L40 Ultra** is the better overall pick right now. Newer platform, quieter, better pad attachment, fewer quirks. • **X40 Ultra** mainly adds detergent-in-tank mopping and the retractable LiDAR. Both are nice, but not must-haves in a small, hard-floor apartment with no low furniture. If the price difference is only \~$50 and you want the extra polish/features, grab the X40. If you just want the best value for simple floors, stick with the L40 — it’ll clean just as well. Either one will work perfectly with a mat/ramp setup.

r/RobotVacuums · Which robot to choose? Eufy x10 pro omni, or something else? [](https://www.reddit.com/r/RobotVacuums/comments/1p73fgr/which_robot_to_choose_eufy_x10_pro_omni_or/)That $450 price for the x10 is really good, but with pets and kids, I’d seriously consider returning it for the dreame x40 ultra. Too bad you can’t get the mova p10 there since it’s usually the go-to for pet hair, but the x40 is a solid alternative. The obstacle avoidance and extendable side-brush just handle cluttered homes better than the eufy. For a $150 difference, it’s worth the swap IMO

r/RobotVacuums · Help me choose: Dreame vs. Ecovacs (or other) for $800? Focus on mopping. I'd stick with dreame since you are already in their ecosystem and can use the same app and dust bags! I think you will be frustrated by the Ecovacs app compared to dreame! I'd actually consider the X40 Ultra should be cheaper than the L40 and super solid imo! If not grab the L40 or X50 if you don't care about the extra $200

r/RobotVacuums · Prime Day Recommendations from a Robot Tester For stuck on stains, I'd suggest doing a zone clean and running the mop two or three times over that area. Most robot vacuums with spinning mops score around the 6-8 range in our stain test, and a second or third pass is usually needed to get rid of most of the stain. If you'd want something that's excellent at mopping, you'd need to get something like the Ecovacs X8, as it's currently our best scoring on our stain test. Costco has it for $999, but it has some drawbacks like mid obstacle avoidance and a tall frame which limits what it can fit under.

r/RobotVacuums · Long hair friendly Auto Vacuum? I live in a one bedroom NYC apartment with wood, tile and low pile carpet. I have 2 dogs who shed constantly and a beautiful wife who also sheds constantly. I previously had an X 40 ultra. It was constantly getting tangled, even with the tri cut brush. Plus, after a few months it really just wasn’t picking up debris. Even though I serviced the filters, base station etc. So far with the L50 I haven’t had any of those issues. The only real complaint I have is the battery life and its navigation/map took a few weeks to really dial in with my apartment.

r/RobotVacuums · Totally underwhelmed by Dreame X50 Ultra - Is this normal? I have an X40 Ultra and havent had any of these issues. yes a full clean of the house with separate vacuum then mop mode, deep clean and everything turned on takes a long while, but I'm drinking a beer infront of the TV while it does it so it can take all the damn time it needs! sounds like its initial scan was flawed in some way, wipe the map and redo it, but keep in mind the first few cleans its still learning and figuring out the optimal routes. It should be able to identify obstacles or moved furniture and go around them, in any cleaning mode, I even get a picture of it and an ai description that I can comment on to help it learn (and probably train chinese ai models to fine tune my ads lol) they arent super quick, but 2 hours to do one room means something is wrong, I have a pretty large dining+kitchen area and it takes about 30 minutes in quick mode and an hour in the slower vacuum then mop in cleangenius mode. no the vacuum isn't going to be as powerful as a big traditional vac, that's not really possible in the form factor and power constraints, they arent plugged into the wall and equipped with 2KW + motors, it's the same kind of performance as a basic handheld vacuum at the low end and a mid range dyson style stick vac at the higher end. Enough for your daily maintenance clean but its not going to look great the first time it runs on a heavily soiled floor. Basically it will keep an already clean house perfectly clean, but it cant really clean a dirty house very well in one go.

r/RobotVacuums · Totally underwhelmed by Dreame X50 Ultra - Is this normal? Im using X40U and my experiences are quite different, but i had low expectations. * It gives me what i needed. Not perfect, but regular floor cleaning. What makes overall experience of living at my flat a much better, * It never gets stuck on anything, but i have no kids, so most i can left on the floor is sock somewhere near my bed from time to time. * For me it takes 0 minutes to clean the floors now as im turning it on when i'm going for a walk, * It never got stuck anywhere. I have very narrow passage under my bed what he has to go through as it is the only path to clean side of the room. He takes that path every time as planned. I still need to do some deep cleaning myself, but it is once per 2 weeks to clean some hard to access places. My flat is quite well organised for such robot. Not much furniture, a lot of open space. Their application is very solid. This mapping flat feature is very well UX designed. I have perfect setup with cleaning ordered in a perfect way. My whole flat is 62 m\^2 and it makes all of it in about 50minutes, what perfectly fits my daily routine.

r/RobotVacuums · How Can We ( Vacuum Wars) Catch Real-World Issues in Robot Vacuum Reviews? A lot of the reviews run tests on flat even flooring with no grout or minimal grout. I found that some vacuums are not able to provide sufficient surface contact with the mop pads due to unevenness in flooring. I bought the Qrevo pro and the eufy omni x10 pro and both units left dry patches on my tiles. More recent robots don't have this issue but I'm not sure if it's just by chance the subsequent models I bought are different in the way they provide mopping pressure (Qrevo Edge and Mova Z50 ultra. I am not sure how you would be able to test this and provide some kind of metric but I think this would be handy to know. App/Robot quirks are also something that could be looked at. My Dreame X40 ultra and Mova Z50 ultra display the same nuances where if you remove a carpet and do a clean, the robot thinks its still there until it does its next map save/run. This meant that the area would not get mopped. Roborock and Eufy were able to adapt on the fly.

r/RobotVacuums · Honest Dreame X50 Ultra (Pro) review - tl;dr included Parameters do look incredibly promising, and all the drawbacks of the current models were fixed. So it might worth waiting! I have only one concern though. X40 Ultra was criticized that – despite its higher suction power – lacks behind Roborock 8 due to the single brush system (X50 Ultra already has dual brush). As far as I can see Narwal Flow also has just a single brush system. Should I worry about it?

r/RobotVacuums · Dreame X50 Pro reviews are in. One small leap for robot vacuums, one giant leap in convenience. Yes in fact its the ONLY ROBOT that can possibly clean my house divided with a 50mm floor height differential... If i can get things cleaned up and storage space for the YouTube videos I believe my work will have me as one of if not the only USA based client using X50 model - I will have a lot of info to share soon for anyone here - and show exactly why this was trhe one robot that i Didnt want to waste even the holiday discount on amazon USA Dreame X40 Ultra of $999 pre tax when $1600 cxould actually clean in entire house with features i had prayed would all be added into a single machine (Dual Tappered Rollers with attachment only on one side for complete solution to all hair tangles no need to cut them when like the Roborock Qrevo Curve has a split single version the same concept to not have hair tangle and drive towards in its case the center and into bin directly vs tangling in roller) Many.. many.. more examples I saw over all the parent companies differing products but never put into a singular one for US markets anyway.. And idk if the X50 Pro will ever be sold in US markets.. Most likely a dumbed down version! Justy like the X40 Ultra ... VS PPRO ULTRA that solves MANY of my issues as a designer that the X40 with a singular roller has.. That for the years they were decent pre <2017 that iRobot at least realized the dual roller is always superior to the singular and that you see added suction added to work dumber not smarter with everyone that was held back by their patent on the tech.. Anyway in a Dr. office waiting room.. Probably tons of typos but I was searching to check if X50 Ultra replacement filters and things will work on X50 Pro as its just a few day away now and came across this thread.. Will maybe share more and update this to not be as scattered later - But I need to even confirm are "Work Around" even functions.. I WOULD NOT Encourage anyone to order an X50 model of Any kinda in USA as chinese people are willing to sell you hardware but not share you will be geo locked.. Some X40 models were able to have a VPN type workaround but they became more sophisticated with means to validate app and robot location and even limit ... well no warranty ..thats a given and horrifying for most.. But we arent even sure how firmware will go with the server \[I cant say more here\] But Ill be doing reviews soon and while they do change their security .. Its one reason id never advise anyone but those willing to have a $1500 paperweight.. with no support nothing! I am on the other hand a trail blazer and trying to overocme the issues keeping robots for US markets IMO .. Limited in ways... WE HAVE THE TECHNOLOGY FOR! And years of robotics work since... early childhood just made me repulsed by the options given to us here in USA.... Even if the X40 Pro ultra or BETTER X40 Pro Enhanced were vaialble .. Id not have such repulse for the designs.. But again my house (Studio) has a 50+ mm divider from main room here in the main area, to the bathroom which is elevated by that much that then another doorway and drops down that much into bedroom ... Needing cleaning.. Currently being cleaned by a Roomba something J7+ whatever thats being returned to amazon..

There’s even a Dreame employee who’s a mod in the Dreame subreddit, it’s bonkers. I bought my X40 Ultra for 1,400 dollars, 4 months later it was 800 dollars. It took them 8 months to enable the side brush being able to spin on carpet. They rarely ever update it anymore. It feels like it’s getting stupider and stupider, it slams into my door thresholds, so much that it broke my front spinning wheel and I had to have it replaced. It’s great hardware, but the software and navigation is getting worse and worse. Never buying Dreame again
