r/projectors · ViewSonic LX700-4K for $1200 vs BenQ TK710 I'll check it out. This Viewsonic seems like such a good deal though so I might cop it just to be done with my search. It has been ongoing for six months. We have been using a cheap chinese "toy" projector, as y'all call them since the pandemic and I finally feel in a position to spend some cash to get rid of the shitty one, which is slowly dying.

r/projectors · ViewSonic LX700-4K laser failing already? mine is also failing randomly . It’s been less than a year and my projector has already started giving issue. Many times all LEDs turn solid red and projector does not start. I have to unplug power and try again. It works randomly. Not sure if others are facing similar issue. I have just contacted support, let’s see what they have to say.

r/projectors · Seeking advice: Daily-usage projector for less than 2000€, TV replacement, long-throw Cannot recommend the Viewsonic LX7004K - The colors were so off, that even someone who is not picky like me, noticed it constantly. The projector veers very strongly to being too green/blue and I could not fix that with any settings in the projector (reducing the brightness did help somewhat)

The Hookup has reviewed it and he is as independent as it gets. It has close to 7 million in backing and is a division of AWOL. This not a fly by night company. None of the projectors you have mentioned are as good as the Pro 2

It got me to an acceptable level, but at the cost of a lot of lost light output. And when I then turn on the oled tv, I died a little bit inside every time as I was confronted with the lackluster color reproduction. Obviously the Benq is also no match for a properly calibrated top-notch oled, but the gap isn’t that huge. It becomes very clear on poorly mastered content, for example the pilot episode of Suits (on netflix) will really show how unnatural skin tones are reproduced on the Viewsonic…

r/projectors · Viewsonic LX700-4K or Benq TK710? For me in Belgium, they are priced almost exactly the same, and the choice is really easy: TK710 without a doubt. Out of the box, color performance is a LOT better than the best I could ever get the LX700-4K calibrated. Because of the poor color performance I had to turn down brightness so much on the Viewsonic, which basically cancels the high lumen advantage. This is not the case with TK710, even in a pretty bright room I can get good performance with remarkably good contrast. Honestly, don’t doubt it for a second. TK710 is significantly better in every aspect that matters for me: color reproduction, contrast, noise, performance in dark and ambient light situation. The TK710 does not support 1440p/120, which is the only downside I can remark. Also the backlit remote on the Viewsonic is kinda nice.
r/projectors · Viewsonic LX700-4K or Benq TK710? I had the LX700-4k for about 2weeks, and then it broke down. It would still turn on, but light source would not turn on anymore. I came from an old 3LCD WUXGA epson and difference was huge. However, getting the LX700-4k to somewhat of an acceptable color accuracy meant sacrificing more than 60% of the light output. And even then it was still quite poor to be honest… I have ordered the TK710 instead now so should be able to tell you the difference in a couple of days…

I can potentially return the ViewSonic, any advice on tuning it to get the colour right? The gaming mode seems to be the brightest / clearest so far

Thank you for the response. I had come across the Epson EH TW 9400 but noted it was getting on in age and was being phased out. Still may be worth considering though. The other options all seem to have a shorter throw distance than the 5m my projector needs to be from the screen.
