« It runs much cooler where it doesnt heat up my medium sized theater room anymore like my 13 year old Epson 8350 did and its so quiet even at 100% that its barely audible. » Voir l’avis
« It helps the projector run quieter and the lamp (laser system) last longer. » Voir l’avis
Points faibles

« One gripe - proceseing mode can’t be saved to a color profile, it is just separate for each HDMI input regardless of the selected profile. » Voir l’avis
« So, it's not a limitation of the tech itself, but may be a limitation of the LS11000 vs. the LS12000 models. » Voir l’avis
« One review I saw said the LS11000 couldn’t take advantage of the 4k 120 due to the limitations of the lcd tech. » Voir l’avis

r/hometheater · can anything beat the LS11000? There are MUCH better projectors out there. Like, night and day. For the price? That's a much harder case for the 11000/12000. They're an excellent value.

r/hometheater · can anything beat the LS11000? I HAD the 11000 and honestly hated it. Had a 6050 before it. I have the QL3000 now and it is the best looking projector I have looked at in a long time. Absolutely wipes the floor with comparable sonys and jvc's. It is easily as quiet as the 11000 and has MUCH better lens options to accomplish any throw distance.
r/projectors · Are all the great projectors enormous? My Epson reps have told me it will work past 20k hrs and it won't dim or diminish in quality as it ages, it will just plum stop working one day in the distant future. There is no repairing or replacing the laser engine, I am told. Time for a brand new model. I have had the 6050 and the ls11000. As soon as I sell my 11000 I will be upgrading to the ql3000. I am salivating over that unit haha. The 6050 and the ls11/12000 are almost identical in size, super close. I would say bulb 6050 was louder than my ls11000. The QB1000 is only slightly better than the 12000. It isn't much brighter than the 12000 but I would contend it does motion scenes better.
r/hometheater · can anything beat the LS11000? I was lucky enough to attend a dealer road show. They had the 12000, ql3000 and ql7000 vs the 11000, Sony vw5000 and xw7000 I think. Both setup with the same source and same screen, but side by side to see a real time comparison. The ql7000 absolutely wipes the floor of everyone. It is soooo freaking bright. We watched zero dark thirty and the scene with the stealth choppers with the dog, we were seeing stuff on the QL that you literally could not see with either Sony. The dog's tongue was actually pink vs some weird ass grey color the sonys put out. It was literally a jaw dropping difference to see them side by side like that. We watched some football in a hotel conference room with full lights on like it was no big deal. The ql7000 is a beast.

r/projectors · Epson QB1000 Review: The replacement for the Epson LS12000 So we have this unit in our showroom and I just can’t get over how unsharp the image from this unit looks. Not even in comparison to a JVC NZ500, but even to a BenQ W2720i and Epson LS11000. Epson is considering this to be working as intended but it’s just not looking good. Thought it was a faulty unit at first, but tried another one from a later manufacturing date and it had the same sharpness issue. I just can’t recommend it over the other models in that price range. In the EU, this model is around €5000 btw
r/projectors · Valerion Max vs Epson LS11000 Valerion is looking to offer a very interesting lineup and is a sister company to AWOL Vision that has proven itself in the last couple of years. But the projectors are pretty different to each other. Are you comparing them based on price or based on your needs? The Epson LS11000 is pretty nice but it lacks the polarizer that turns the 3LCD’s blue-ish blacks to an actual black color. The Valerion is a very interesting package but IRL the projector itself looks ugly to me and even with all the fancy stuff they put in there, a €4000 pricetag for a current gen .47” just doesn’t sit well with me.

r/projectors · 2025 4K projector recommendations? Since people typically buy only ONE projector, their experience is limited. But I'll toss in a vote for the Epson. I have owned the LS11000 paired with a 120" Da-Lite screen for almost three years and couldn't be happier with its performance. My use is similar to yours, and the 4K 120 Hz refresh rate delivers excellent quality for fast paced open world gaming on a big screen. The LS12000 has better blacks and color, so it is sure to beat the excellent experience I've had with its sibling.
r/projectors · Blown away by the Epson LS11000 on a 14 year old cheap Elite Screen I have the LS11000 too and love it, even with my 20 year old 120" Da-Lite screen that was originally purchased for a 720p PJ. With 4K resolutions, I have considered getting a larger grey screen to improve black levels, but "if it ain't broke, why fix it?"
r/projectors · **Need Advice on Projector Purchase** Not an ideal situation for a projector, and I doubt that a laser projector is the answer. My Epson LS11000 4K laser only puts out 2,500 lumens, but I have a dedicated room with full light control. I love my 120" screen size (which is where projectors still outpace direct displays), but if it were me in the same situation today, I would get a display that is more suited to daylight environments. For your price range, you're going to get a lot more bang for the buck, and probably be much happier with the outcome, assuming you don't have physical limitations in moving and mounting. If so, a used PJ with a brand new bulb might be the answer. Either way, I think a "wow" factor (especially blacks) in a bright environment is beyond your projector price range, but certainly achievable with a direct display.
r/projectors · Projector Recommendations Around $3-$4k Do you own one? Have you even seen the picture? Or are you just regurgitating others BS? In contrast to your obvious lack of personal experience, I've actually own an [Epson LS11000 for 4 years ](https://www.reddit.com/r/hometheater/comments/1eb8e1i/home_theater_is_a_journey/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button)and couldn't be happier. The picture is 4K HDR+, with 120 Hz at 20ms refresh rates for fast paced gaming on my 120" screen. The blacks could be darker sure, but I absolutely got my money's worth, and there's no bulb to worry about because the light source is a Laser Array Light Source. Why should anyone care about LCD or any other technical mumbo-jumbo when the resulting picture and experience is superb?
r/projectors · Projector Recommendations Around $3-$4k “Better?” By what measure? The technology has gotten to the point that “better” is inpercieveably small and/or negligible. There’s nothing “better” than excellent.

r/projectors · Comparison - Running the Valerion Visionmaster Max alongside the Epson LS11000 for a month The Valerion does not look like this is reality. I'm assuming that's due to it being DLP. They look nearly identical in person. I was not able to have my camera reflect it correctly though. I attached the image just for context, but it shouldn't be used to compare colors.
r/projectors · Comparison - Running the Valerion Visionmaster Max alongside the Epson LS11000 for a month Yea, that photo of the Valerion isn't what it really looks like, unfortunately. They look much more similar in person. But on my phone and one a Sony camera, the photos kept turning out that way.
r/projectors · Comparison - Running the Valerion Visionmaster Max alongside the Epson LS11000 for a month I wasn't able to take pictures that are representative of what I'm actually seeing in person. This photo is just for context of how I had them set up to evaluate. In reality, they looked nearly identical at distance. I'm not sure how to take accurate photos of the DLP.
r/projectors · epson LS11000 vs Benq W580E Were you able to view their images side by side? I’m personally sensitive to RBE and recently decided to go with the LS11000 myself. You can check my post history regarding that. I don’t know anything about the benq’s but I’ve decided the ls11000 is my preferred set of trade offs for that price range. And fwiw mine was a refurb for ~$3,200. Happy to answer any other questions about that projector.
r/projectors · Comparison - Running the Valerion Visionmaster Max alongside the Epson LS11000 for a month Yea I definitely get why people don’t like how big the Epson remote is. But I strangely like it. Regarding colors, you may be right about how I see the colors. But fwiw my wife has the exact same opinion about the tint. Either way, we’re aligned on preferring the Epson image 9 times out of 10, so that’s what we kept. I’ve come to realize how much of this can come down to preference over specs.
r/projectors · Comparison - Running the Valerion Visionmaster Max alongside the Epson LS11000 for a month You're right this isn't what I'm seeing IRL at all, they're much closer in reality. That being said, the colors still felt consistently worse compared to the Epson. I am using a white screen already as well. And the sudden flickering of colors was the other thing that wouldn't be fixed by a screen.

r/projectors · Projector Recommendations Around $3-$4k The LS11000 will be handily outmatched by the Titan Noir. Hell, the 7+ year old Epson 5050UB is a better option than the LS11000. The Valerion Max also is a step up on the LS11000. The LS11000 is a LCD laser projector, other than that, it is a pretty weak overall performer. Careful where you get your reviews from. AVS Forum is a good resource. Reddit can be dodgy, but some people know what they are talking about.
r/projectors · Epson 5050UB or LS11000 to replace 5030UB. I agree with your decision. I'd lean a bit towards the LS11000 in this space based upon your usage. The black floor won't be as good as what the 5050 can deliver, but the laser light source will make it a more solid long term choice for you.
r/projectors · Valerion Max vs Epson LS11000 There is a lot to like about what Valerion is doing with their product. There was a recent shootout on YouTube pitting the Valerian Pro (I beleive) against JMGO and XGimi and it was a clearly better model. I'm not sure it will end up being better than the 5050UB in the real world, but it may be a really solid competitor, and the lens shift and zoom range are real stand outs. If someone is chasing a really solid DLP projector, then I think this may be the model to get in 2025 when it finally is available to the public. I am only concerned with them using the smaller .47" DLP chip and hope it proves to be incredibly reliable overall. The Epson is a proven product. It is supported by a well established manufacturer. It is known to be really good. So, there is that.
r/projectors · Projector Recommendations Around $3-$4k I have read, heavily, reviews. I have personally seen the 5050UB, I have a JVC DLA-X590R which is generally considered better than the 5050UB. I have seen the Valerion Max, myself, and put it up against my JVC, and was thoroughly blown away by how much better the Valerion performs compared to the JVC. Any number of reviewers have been disappointed by the LS11000 in that it doesn't match the contrast of the 5050UB which is years older. It is between the 4010 and the 5050UB in terms of contrast, and yes, contrast is king. Considering the Valerion Max has been put up against the current JVC models, which are several steps better than the LS11000, and the Titan Noir Max is compared better, from trusted reviewers than the Valerion Max, it once again, makes it a no-brainer. It's less money and looks better and sharper than the LS12000. Why would you spend even more money on the LS11000 to get a drop in quality? When I say better, I mean for HDR performance. For contrast. For motion handling. For color accuracy. Placement flexibility goes to Epson almost every day of the week. For good reason. But, the Titan Noir comes closest of any sub $3,000 DLP projector. Far better than the competing BenQ models or Valerion Pro. It's not an all-or-nothing scenario. Epson will have wins. No RBE on Epson, that's massive for people who are RBE sensitive. But, a step down in contrast from the 7 year old 5050UB is a slap in the face to consumers. Yeah, I'm informed. I do my homework. I own multiple projectors. I've seen many different models. I don't think the LS11000 is crap. It is a very solid $2,500 (maybe $3,000) projector. It is a very overpriced $4,000 projector. The competition it has is very real and the only reason to spend that type of money is because someone is seriously RBE sensitive.
r/projectors · Replacement for Christie LW555 That Christie had a terrible black floor which made for really bad contrast. This is what matters most to making an image really 'pop'. While in a lit room, you can chase brightness/lumens, it's nearly impossible to get both brightness and good contrast from the same projector. At least, at a reasonable price point. You can find similar business class LCD projectors with the same resolution all over eBay. The Epson EX11000 may be the closest affordable direct upgrade that is similar to the Christie on the market right now... [https://www.projectorcentral.com/Epson-Pro\_EX11000.htm](https://www.projectorcentral.com/Epson-Pro_EX11000.htm) It's not going to have the contrast, or close to it, of the LS11000, or the 5050UB, or many other home theater models, but it will be bright and should be very similar to what you had before.
r/projectors · Screen size recommendation for Epson ls11000 Their matte white or matte grey screens are both acceptable. I prefer the extra punch that a white screen delivers, then I lower the brightness to suit my needs. It helps the projector run quieter and the lamp (laser system) last longer.
r/projectors · replacing a projector: screen question and other options I haven't seen any projectors which don't work just fine at 70" or even smaller diagonal. If it can't go smaller than 100" that would be insane. I expect you would have no issues putting it much closer. It may have been some calculator or something you were looking at. The specs clearly call out a 50" to 300"+ diagonal size as something it can focus on. [https://www.projectorcentral.com/pdf/projector\_spec\_11782.pdf](https://www.projectorcentral.com/pdf/projector_spec_11782.pdf) I would go by the 58" to 748" distances as being quite accurate. Not sure what the other mess was about.
r/projectors · epson LS11000 vs Benq W580E The LS9000 or LS12000 are better choices than the LS11000 which is kind of a sideways move from the 3800. Laser and better lens, but not a huge jump anywhere else. I'd take a LONG hard look at the XGimi Horizon 20 series which is going to be brighter than the BenQ models with solid contrast as well as lens shift and reasonable zoom range. It's been reviewing very favorably lately. I like Epson well enough, but IMO the recent DLP models are just killing it in terms of providing an incredibly sharp image with a really good 4K image and features which are just... better. I've been a huge BenQ fan for years, and still am, but they are falling behind the competition. I would stop with ChatGPT, and look at the manual, and check Projector Central for accurate throw distance measurements... [https://www.projectorcentral.com/XGIMI-HORIZON\_20\_Max-projection-calculator-pro.htm](https://www.projectorcentral.com/XGIMI-HORIZON_20_Max-projection-calculator-pro.htm) Be aware that your screen size is not a normal 16:9 screen by the measurements you listed. So, measure again if you believe your screen is 16:9. Make sure you are measuring the white area of the screen, no borders.
r/projectors · Epson 5050ub and LS11000 feet depth measurements This may be a question you want to post over at AVS Forum, or look through their existing threads to see what comes back. For example, someone posted a detailed drawing of where the mounting holes were, exactly, along with measurements. [https://www.avsforum.com/threads/the-epson-5050ub-6050ub-thread-no-price-talk.3060314/page-184#lg=thread-3060314&slide=2](https://www.avsforum.com/threads/the-epson-5050ub-6050ub-thread-no-price-talk.3060314/page-184#lg=thread-3060314&slide=2) They may be able to help you out with the specifics for both models. You can also reach out to Epson who should be able to answer this question for you. This looks like the LS12000 which is the same as the LS11000 chassis I believe... [https://image.son-video.com/images/article/epson/EPSONEHLS12000B/eh-ls12000b\_64cbcea213cb2\_1200.jpg?p=600](https://image.son-video.com/images/article/epson/EPSONEHLS12000B/eh-ls12000b_64cbcea213cb2_1200.jpg?p=600) So, about 336mm from back of projector to front feet. About 13.25" I couldn't find one like this for the 5050UB, but I'm sure it exists somewhere. This is one for the 5040UB which I think uses the same chassis as the 5050UB... [https://images.platforum.cloud/uploads/20160902/88332cc4e593817e1bfac2f35b083053.jpg](https://images.platforum.cloud/uploads/20160902/88332cc4e593817e1bfac2f35b083053.jpg)
r/projectors · Suggestions on first projector? I'd struggle not to get the Valerion Pro 2 or Hisense C2 Ultra over the LS11000. Both are nice models, but the Epson simply isn't priced where it should be IMO, and the LS12000 is where people should be spending their money if they are chasing best image quality. I'd definitely stick with a 120" diagonal or you might as well get a 100" TV instead. (yeah yeah, OLED already) You will want a tab-tensioned motorized screen to go with this if you aren't using a fixed frame screen for best results.
r/projectors · Epson LS11000 brighter corner Pretty normal for projectors to have uneven brightness across the entire screen. This is often measured in reviews and it varies from projector to projector. No projector has 100% image uniformity, but some are definitely a fair bit worse than others. This looks pretty normal to me.
r/projectors · Epson LS11000 - In apartment It is huge projector, so keep that in mind. I would get the 5050UB over the LS11000 personally for better image quality. Or go to the LS12000. If the size is just too crazy, then the 3800 from them is a really nice size and good quality. Check your throw distance as you aren't getting a huge image if the projector is too close to the screen. Make sure you understand throw distance and image size properly.
r/projectors · Epson LS11000 - In apartment The Epson has massive lens shift and is physically very different than the Dell you likely used. Much larger. Much higher quality. UST models are an option, but have their own headaches and won't look as good overall as this model.
r/projectors · Benq HT4550i vs. EPSON LS11000 The LS12000 absolutely can do 4K/120hz output. So, it's not a limitation of the tech itself, but may be a limitation of the LS11000 vs. the LS12000 models.
r/projectors · Benq HT4550i vs. EPSON LS11000 That's my understanding. But, I'm not going to swear by that. Getting a solid answer from Epson on this is kind of tough. I believe both models accept 4K/120 on the input, I'm just not sure if the LS11000 delivers 4K/120 on the output, or if it drops it to 4K/60.
r/projectors · replacing a projector: screen question and other options Drop in would be the Epson 4010 or 5050UB models or the newer LS11000 or LS12000 models. There are EU versions of these models I believe.
r/projectors · Epson LS11000 vs BenQ HT4550i I don't have the answer to that as it is more of a personal finance question. I think the 4550i is nice, but DLP generally lacks the deeper black levels that LCD and LCoS can deliver. I would get the 5050UB over the 4550i and buy a couple of replacement lamps and call it a day if I was on more of a budget personally. I probably wouldn't get the LS11000 at all and limit myself to the 5050UB or the LS12000 models. But, this is far more personal than a simple answer.

r/projectors · Epson LS11000 or 5050UB for Home Theater? Prob an unpopular take but I’d def go 5050, esp if you put a lot of hours on. Hear me out- my 5050 averages well over 8 hours a day - kid gaming, me gaming, movies etc etc. Somehow it equates to a new lamp every 9 months or so. But as has been mentioned you don’t notice the dimming until you get a new one. I’m always genuinely excited for ‘New Bulb Day!’ cause it’s like a whole new image again. With the laser, even though it’s ‘good for’ 20000 hours, there’s still some dimming along the way, and that will never be rectified. Also the black levels aren’t as good. Go with the 5050.

r/projectors · Epson LS11000 or 5050UB for Home Theater? A genuine Epson lamp costs about $350. (Yes there are cheap knock offs, but that's not a fair comparison to a laser.) So you are basically paying for three lamps extra when you buy the 11000 over a 5050. The 11000 is brighter, handles HDR better, and is visibly sharper (not native 4k but through smart technology shows 4k pixels better than the 5050). The 5050 has better contrast/black floor, but it's not great. You'll have dimming of the lamp on the 5050 from day one, and need to replace it every 1000 hours or so, if you want to keep in the ballpark of its best output. So, for me, the 11000 would be the better choice. It starts out and remains brighter for more than 10000 hours, possibly 15000 or more, depending on usage.....which means if I watch little less than 5 hours of TV and movies every day, I would be happy with the 11000 for a decade or more. Of course, there are Epson 12000 that are being heavily discounted, b-stocks on the Epson site, and used models with low hours, which is where you can really save a lot of money.....and the 12000 is better in every way versus the 5050, imo.

r/projectors · Valerion VisionMaster Max or epson ls11000 The 11000 is not (to me) all that impressive. In point of fact, if you're looking for a $2000 ballpark projector and Epson, you should probably be considering the 5050ub. It's similar to the LS11000 but with a bulb lightsource instead of laser, and it has considerably better contrast and black level capabilities, surprisingly enough. Off the cuff and off hand, the over 7000:1 contrast that The Hook Up measured alone would make me go with the Valerion at this point. You'd have to make sure to install it in such a way as to minimize or eliminate the use of digital keystone but it does at least have a small 1.2 optical zoom that could probably help a lot. I believe Epson and some other old school manufacturers were just run over. They just haven't noticed yet. Another threat to Epson is coming from "above", from JVC. Their entry level is now at similar prices as Epson's QB1000 (the successor to the LS12000)... so the reasons to go Epson are rapidly diminishing if they keep their stated pricing point. But anyway... At $2 grand the Valerion looks like the one to beat imo. $3500 would sting more. Just one guy's opinion obviously.
r/projectors · Epson LS11000 vs others You'd probably be better off with a 5050ub even though it's bulb fed. It has considerably better black levels. They're cheaper too (well.. same ballpark). Or, you could look into the Valerion projectors, the Pro 2 model almost certainly gives you a better image in just about every way. Since you're talking about in-wall speakers, UST projectors are out otherwise one of those would have been a choice, at 120 inches; a $2000-ish Nexigo Aurora Pro provides a better image and better dark room viewing than the LS11000 (haven't seen it with my own eyes, have seen a comparo online by The Hook Up).
r/projectors · Are all the great projectors enormous? Immediately. It starts making sense immediately. A projector needs a screen, or deserves one. In fact, an ALR screen makes a ton of sense in non-dedicated rooms, but ALR for long throw has more issues than for UST. If you like what the LS11000 can do on a wall, you'd have your mind blown by a Nexigo Aurora Pro with an ALR screen most likely.
r/projectors · Are all the great projectors enormous? That's actually not the greatest projector at all. Most likely a Valerion Visionmaster Pro 2 lifestyle projector would beat it noticeably, which is remarkable and shows that there's still progress to be made. JVC projectors with LCoS (well, they call it D-ILA) instead of 3LCD would also crush it. But those do cost a bit more. Even an older Epson 5050ub bulb projector has more contrast. The Nexigo Aurora Pro UST projector (and thus, I would wager, the other couple of top-rated new UST projectors) will also beat it, especially with an ALR screen. But yes... the 11000 is fairly good.
r/projectors · Valerion VisionMaster Max or epson ls11000 I wouldn't be surprised. Also, since we're talking about the LS11000, the Nexigo Aurora Pro UST projector ($2500) literally seems to beat it in dark rooms and destroy it in semi-lit rooms thanks the ALR screen (granted, an ALR screen will add cost, but they are selling a $2500 package deal right now with a 100 inch fresnel screen).
r/projectors · UST vs Traditional Projector Mounting an UST in the ceiling is just a bad idea. Well, in the case of the Epson you'd mount it on the wall above the screen, they have a mount for that. But that mount is made for things like classroom projection. UST's big advantage is the ALR screens that work with them, because of the way they project - from below. Everything not coming from below can be deflected and diffused. This obviously doesn't work if you have the projector above. Image quality wise, UST's can easily keep up with most long throws. A Nexigo Aurora Pro almost certainly gives you a better image in both the dark and light than an Epson LS11000 for instance. The CLR screen for an UST is really not optional, in my opinion. You waste *so* much image quality. [ALR Screen VS White WALL - Side by Side Comparison in Different Lighting Conditions | Chris Maher, YouTube](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XG1rVFTnkuE) This is especially true for the Epson (I have one). It's not the most contrasty projector on the market and it's *really* helped by a 0.5 gain CLR screen when it comes to black level and contrast.
r/projectors · What projector to get? (Good black levels for film and gaming for €3k) UST is always a valid choice for a living room. If you combine it with the required (in my opinion) CLR screen, you get excellent ambient light resistance and way better contrast even in the dark. [ALR Screen VS White WALL - Side by Side Comparison in Different Lighting Conditions | Chris Maher, YouTube](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XG1rVFTnkuE) (yes, I have this link saved in my text expander app, I post it so often I need a keyword to paste it in). Finding a Nexigo Aurora Pro in the EU should be possible, but I don't have any good retailer to recommend off hand. You also need the screen, I paid about a grand for my Epson screen as part of a package deal but there are other brands. The Nothing Projector 120 inch seems to be 1000€ on Amazon in Germany, for instance. But the Nexigo Aurora Pro will beat the LS11000, especially with a CLR screen, in both the dark and the light.
r/projectors · Epson LS11000 Refurb Used. There's no such thing as a refurb, not really. Makes it sound like they take things apart and put in all new parts... at best they wipe the dust off.

r/projectors · JVC NZ500 or LS11000 JCVS black levels are infinitely superior and the impact of dynamic tone mapping on HDR content cannot be overstated. There’s plenty of videos online comparing the LS11000/12000 to the JVC NX5/NP5 and the JVC is light years better.

r/projectors · epson LS11000 vs Benq W580E I would go with Epson LS9000! It has better contrast it was released last year! It performs quite close to Epson 12000 ! The ls11000 have a very washed out contrast stay away from it! I think the ls9000 is the new The Epson tw9400 (6050ub) The price is quite good to for the 9000! I also think it will work with your throw distance
r/projectors · Epson 5050UB / 6050UB or Epson LS11000 Stay away from 11000 the contrast is horrible! 6050UB no doubt! Keep it in SDR only tho if you don’t have a videoprocessor! The HDR and lack of tonemapping makes HDR look dull! The same applies to 11000! 6050UB is the choice for you

r/projectors · New to this - help me solve projector decision paralysis: LS12000, x3100i, Valerion, or something else? Its not 4K because it only shifts (after the Update) 3 x 1080p. So 2.015 Million Pixel are missing. The LS11000 and higher Models are true 4K because they shift 4x1080p.
r/projectors · epson LS11000 vs Benq W580E I´m Team DLP because of the better 3D, Motion Sharpness, convergence error free Picture and sealed Lightpath. With a DLP Laser you´ll have Laser Speckle - therefore a 4LED is preferable. The LS11000 will be a big Upgrade compared to your HC3800!
r/projectors · New to this - help me solve projector decision paralysis: LS12000, x3100i, Valerion, or something else? Read the small Print... " 1 4K Enhancement Technology shifts each pixel diagonally to double Full HD resolution. Resolution is Full HD in 3D Mode." DOUBLE Full HD = 2x1080p which will only "software upscaled" to "4K" then. LS11000 and higher Models shift the Picture 4x.
r/projectors · 4K Projector Upgrade Help LS 11000 or LS12000. Or wait for new Epson Models.
r/projectors · replacing a projector: screen question and other options I´m NOT talking Pixelshift 4K vs. Native 4K! LS11000 & LS12000 are True 4K (8,3 Million Pixel on the Screen with 4x Pixelshift) All other Epson "Pro 4K" Models are 2xPixelshift = 4,15 Million Pixel on the Screen. 4,15 Million Pixel missing IS significant!
r/projectors · replacing a projector: screen question and other options Best would be to order the Viewsonic online to "test" it and return it when DLP is not working out for you. At some Point Epson HAS to release new Models to replace f.e. the TW7100 from 2019! Besides the Fact that you´ll need a UST Screen with the LS800 i would not buy it because its not a True 4K Model! The only True 4K Epson Models at the Moment are the LS11000 & LS12000 !

r/projectors · Epson LS12000 vs Valerion VisonMaster Max I can only speak for my refurbished LS11000. I caught a good deal on Amazon from the Epson store. The projector came with a blemish on the lens and Epson customer service was amazing and replaced it with a brand new unit. Couldn't be happier with my LS11000, especially for $2800.

r/hometheater · can anything beat the LS11000? LS11000 has passable but still quite bad black levels (I own one). LS12000 has better blacks and is brighter. QB1000 has similar blacks as LS12000, but even higher brightness, better motion, dynamic HDR tonemapping and is quieter.
r/projectors · Looking for a projector with a low input lag I don’t understand why would someone complain about LS11000/12000 fan noise. They are very quiet, especially if you run them at 50-70% laser power. Probably Sony or JVC projectors are quieter, but they are also more expensive. I’m gaming on my LS11000 in 4k60, mostly casual games, and don’t notice any lag when the projector is in Fast pocessing mode. One gripe - proceseing mode can’t be saved to a color profile, it is just separate for each HDMI input regardless of the selected profile.
r/projectors · Contrast comparison between Epson LS11000 and HC3500? AFAIK LS11000 has lower contrast than older high end Epson lamp models, but should be still higher than mid end models like HC3500. Brightness is similar to HC3500 but in real life it is higher most of the time because a laser source is getting dimmer way slower than a lamp. If I had a HC3500 and was thinking about an upgrade, I would go for LS12000. It’s not much more expensive than LS11000 but is brighter and has significatly higher native contrast.
r/projectors · Hisense c2 ultra Nice! I get similar blacks with my LS11000 ... when I turn down the camera exposure 😅.
r/projectors · Epson LS12000 vs 3800 Ok, I compared them right now. JPBoggis looks a bit more contrasty than Dafun, probably thanks to higher Scene-adaptive gamma. But I can’t look at his Image enhancement settings. Auto contrast enhancement on 10 is way too high, it blows out all the highlights. I usually use 2.
r/projectors · Epson LS12000 vs 3800 I have just two memory presets - one with 50% laser power for night tome and another with 100% plus bumped up scene-adaptive gamma for day time. I didn’t calibrate my projector, but I tried some settings I found around the internet. In the end, I settled on ones from an AVSForum user called Dafun. They look great in both SDR and HDR. Here’s a link to a Google Sheet with multiple options — Dafun’s settings are the first on the left. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/u/0/d/1a3ylO98gnVHWxAtCZapZz_PfphxjYDkq_7BAORsGEYQ
r/projectors · Epson LS12000 vs 3800 I have LS11000 and you won’t get OLED level blacks from it. Nor from any other projector. Except for the “hidden” feature of the Dynamic picture mode OP mentioned that shuts off the laser when the screen is completely black. You should calibrate (or find good enough settings on internet) the Dynamic mode first because its default colors are wild, but it’s worth it. Fade-to-black cuts in the movies are then really fade to black and not just dark gray. This increases the perceived contrast ratio of the projector immensely.
r/projectors · Benq TK710 vs Epson LS11000 LS11000 is pretty quiet, great for overhead mounting, but you need a sturdy mount. It’s bright and has good colors at the same time, in SDR and HDR. Blacks are good, not the best. If you have Home Assistant or some other customizable home automation system, you can connect the Epson to your LAN and control it remotely. I compared the Epson only to Benq x3100i (not side by side but in the same room). AFAIK TK710 uses the same DMD chip. The Benq is brighter on paper but I felt like the Epson was at least similarly bright. Benq had great colors, probably better that the Epson, especially in HDR with the wide color filter enabled, but it cut the brightness by half. Blacks were quite meh, worse than the Epson. Better than some other cheap Epsons but not by much. My bighest problem with the Benq was noise. Fans were loud, the pixel shift buzz at 4k60 was extremely annoying and still quite noticable at 4k24. TK710 is a cheaper model so I guess it will be at best similarly loud but probably even louder.
r/projectors · Contrast comparison between Epson LS11000 and HC3500? LS11000 has good contrast, better than cheaper projectors I owned or tried. But even in a completely white living room full of reflections, black is still dark grey. Is buying a 85-100” TV not an option? It will have better image than LS11000 and cost less.
r/projectors · Epson LS11000 brighter corner Thanks for the reply. I always thought projector luminance non-uniformity means gradual brightness falloff towards the edges of the image caused by the lens. Not irregular brightness, which I associate more with displays with backlight. I’m ok with uniform falloff towards the edges but this is a bit annoying. The projector is still in warranty so I will probably contact Epson support too.

r/projectors · Advice on buying a projector None of those projectors have native 4k resolution The cheapest projector which is a very good option that is native 4k is the Sony VPL-HW 5000ES. I would not recommend it right now due to panel degradation and manual controls at that expensive price point. For a $3,000 price point, don't buy projectors like the Hisense or short throws that have no lens shift. Keystone is BAD IF and only IF your ceilings are at a good height where this projector won't hang too low, then go for the XGIMI Horizon 20 MAX. Also if you plan to place it on a table/not mount it this is a good option. If you don't want that, the number 1 projector I am recommending due to the deal right now is the Epson LS11000. I can't justify why the LS12000 (Slightly upgraded model), is so expensive. Nevertheless, the LS11000 is a great projector with lots of flexibility and at a decently decreased price point NEVER utter the words Optoma lol The newer version of the HT4550i is the W4100i. I like Benq for Home theater, but the fan noise is quite high. I would NOT spend $3000 on the W4100i, instead a GREAT option would be to buy the $1,300 refurb HT4550i from Ebay. This is the best bang-for-your-buck option and is amazing Again, projector lens shift is SO useful, so the only Valerion I would consider would be the MAX 99.99999999% of home theater projectors can project 120 inches +, that is not a good question. The other percent is a cardboard toy. Even the cheapest projectors can probably do 150 if all lights are off I don't like ultra short throw, my opinion is that you will regret if you buy it. Many things need to be perfect for it to work out well. $1,300 refurb HT4550i from Ebay would be the best option as it has 3d support and is very affordable so you can put budget elsewhere If your space permits, then you could go for the XGIMI, but I wouldn't because for half the price I can get a projector that's as good or better refurbished. Consider the Benq W2720i also but I wouldn't go with it
r/projectors · Advice on buying a projector The max is good, don't like the pro 2. I've seen both the Pro 2 and the LS12000, and both on default settings, the LS12000 destroys the pro 2. I like the Hookup, but I don't like the screens he uses, because it doesn't show the true sharpness and black level. I would choose the LS11000 over the 12000 AND the Max. The LS11000, Horizon 20 max, and refurb HT4550i are all projectors I would choose over any of these. Maybe just me, but I would buy all these over the max.

r/projectors · Epson Premium Projector Showdown: QB1000 vs LS12000 vs LS11000 vs 5050 vs 6050 I think it should be important to note that the 5050UB and 6050UB are 2X 1080p shifted (3840x1080 displayed resolution) while the laser ones are 4X 1080p shifted (3840x2160).
r/projectors · Epson LS11000 vs others Yeah, but the 82% price increase for the Max kind of turns it from an excellent deal to what feels like a rip-off for anyone who comes later. I know Kickstarters need a discount, but they’ve kind of shot themselves in the foot on that one for future “msrp” sales. I’d rather spend $2600 for a LS11000, than $4000 for a Max that used to be $2200. Plus it’s DLP, and I’m very sensitive to rainbows, so it already has that negative to overcome.
r/projectors · Epson LS11000 vs others Yeah, the range is get is decent enough. I do plan on mounting it first and THEN determining screen size, although I already had a small range in mind.

r/projectors · Help me decide - LG CineBeam HU810PW or Epson Home Cinema LS11000 LS11000!!!!! I just got mine from Epson last week bought the refurbished for $2799. Came in looks brand new with 0H on it and has perfect lens, no dead/stuck pixels, runs cool and quiet, and no dust blobs, its perfect. I feel like they just gave me a brand new one! Contrast and image quality is superb just so much eye candy i'm blown away. I use it at 50% brightness as its already plenty bright so it should last 2x the rated 20k hours that is already quiet long. It runs much cooler where it doesnt heat up my medium sized theater room anymore like my 13 year old Epson 8350 did and its so quiet even at 100% that its barely audible. The projector sits 7Ft above my seat on a shelf.
r/projectors · Help me decide - LG CineBeam HU810PW or Epson Home Cinema LS11000 It is a GIGANTIC leap in terms of image quality, contrast, and vividness and colors. I just watch 4K videos on nature and sit there in awe for 30 minutes the first night I fired this laser projector up lol. I'm still in awe. Also knowing that this laser wont dim much at all over the years gets me giddy every time compared to a bulb. Its exactly what I wanted in a 4K projector, 100" that looks like my C1 OLED lol. I love it!
r/projectors · Help me decide - LG CineBeam HU810PW or Epson Home Cinema LS11000 I have a small theater room which also is used as an office as well. My screen is only 100" and my LS11000 is about 13 feet away from the screen.
r/projectors · Epson Certified ReNew Any Good? Yes, it started counting hours. I think I read the first 10 hours or so wasn't shown on the counter but it logged after some time. I have about almost 300 hours logged on so far and it has been rock solid. No stuck pixels, no dust blobs of any kind looks super clean and very very nice picture in my games and movies. I got a PS5 Pro and it pairs so well together that it runs silent and keeps my small theater room cool. I'm shocked how cool the LS11000 runs, it doesn't heat up my room at all! My old Epson 8500 with the lamp used to heat my room up so much I have to keep my doors open.
r/projectors · Epson Certified ReNew Any Good? Curious my LS11000 so far I used an out 3 hours but the counter is still at 0H. I read online that some epson projectors will count after 10H is this true?
r/projectors · Epson Certified ReNew Any Good? Just got the LS11000 Refurbished model today. It looked brand new out of the box and it has 0 hours! No dead/stuck pixels, Lens is perfect, no other issues that I can find. Lens cover opens/closes perfectly and the image is amazing!!! Wow it makes the other DLP projectors that I tried look like a toy. It runs so much cooler and quieter than the LX700-4K and X500i that I tried before. I'm so happy that I went with refurb with Epson!
r/projectors · Epson Certified ReNew Any Good? Thanks for chiming in. I heard so many horror stories with Epson Refurbs and returning them more than 5 times until a decent one and no refunds so I may just stay away. I don't mind buying the LS11000 brand new on sale right now for $3499, its $500 more but peace of mind is better. I ordered a BenQ X500i and should arrive today from amazon and will test this out before deciding if I want to jump on the LS11000. I hear so many good reviews for the X500i I just need to try it for myself.

r/projectors · Epson LS11000 vs others I have the LS11000. I have had a number of projectors, good and bad. The LS11000 was a good choice for me. I had seen the LS12000 and knew that it was already challenged when up against a lot of other offerings when comparing black levels. That made it less of an important spec right off the bat. My room is light controlled but I have light colored walls and celing. The reflectivity of those surfaces would have negated any benefit of the LS1200 over the LS1000. Since I was fairly set on an LS11000 at that point, I saw that I could get a refurb from Epson for a lot less. I have had several Epson projectors and have had to send a couple back for repairs and often wound up with a refurb anyway. After looking through others experiences over at avsforum, there was a strong chance I'd wind up with a refurb anyway. Why pay full retail then? Purchased a refurb LS11000 and it was perfect right out of the box, although the box was completely destroyed in shipping. That was the fault of UPS, not Epson. There were strange shapes cut out of the box. Looked like it had been caught in a machine and chewed up. Projector is flawless though. Zero issues. Destroyed package: https://imgur.com/a/UPgGZWV
r/projectors · Epson LS11000 Refurb Yeah, that would be frustrating for a new unused device. For a refurb, if it doesn't have any dust blobs and works fine, you may be better off keeping that one. The refurb lottery could result in a replacement with worse cosmetic defects. Congrats on the purchase. They are fantastic projectors!

r/projectors · Choosing between the Epson LS11000 and LS12000 I personally would suggest the ls12000 for $500 more considering the better contrast and extra warranty. Ls11000 is a solid choice as well, but side by side with the 12000, the 12000 will always win.
r/projectors · Epson/ hisense The LS11000 is not a UST, but the LS800 is.
r/projectors · recommend me a projector and screen pairing Will the room be darkened like a theater or will it be multipurpose with lights on sometimes? A UST and ALR screen are very versatile for more well lit environments. Something like the ls11000 (or manufacturer refurbished ls12000 for same price) are great dedicated theater room projectors. A cheap silver ticket screen with the ls11/12 will give you a good image but not as sharp as the projector is capable of due to the surface texture of the screen. Higher quality/textureless screens will have sharper image by not impacting the pixel geometry. Feel free to DM me if you want to get into more details about all of the options.

r/projectors · Valerion Master Pro2 I went with the shadowscape as a pair with the noir max as well. I’m using it right now with my ls11000 and it’s a bit dim but looks good. I’m assuming the extra brightness will make it look great. I completely agree that people are severely underestimating the impact of the screen and are getting $3k projectors with like $200 screens. It’s wild. Projectors need good screens. It should be factored into the budget if you decide to go this route vs a tv.
r/projectors · Help deciding what way to go The lifestyle projectors are very enticing for their ease of use and good quality for a decent price, but the difficulty in finding a location to set them up was why I didn’t choose the valerion pro 2. If you have the space to mount a long throw projector on the ceiling, it’s a lot easier to line things up with lens shift and not have to worry about setting it up and taking it down all the time. r/projectors · Comparison - Running the Valerion Visionmaster Max alongside the Epson LS11000 for a month Triple laser often has a terrible red hue on photo but that's not the issue, that's far from what you see from your own eyes IRL. r/hometheater · Epson 5050UB or no? It’s all relative I guess. If you consider the $30k and $50k projectors to be normal for home theater use, then yeah the 5050ub is entry level and relatively low light output. But for most people, the LS11000 is more expensive than they would ever consider spending on a projector or TV and the light output and image of the 5050UB is very respectable in that price range. Everyone who sees my 5050ub thinks it’s giant and that I must be an insane enthusiast to own such a thing. They are completely content with their 50” TVs. Again, it’s all relative.

r/hometheater · LG G5 Oled vs Epson LS11000 The projected image will get washed out during the day with ambient light. There's just no getting around that. The question is, will you be able to live with that for the tradeoff of having a 120-150" screen? Also, will you be able to have more light control at night for more critical viewing?
r/projectors · Epson LS12000 vs 3800 I plugged in Dafun's settings just now and toggled back and forth a few times (love the image memory feature) to compare. The difference isn't huge, but I think JPBoggis' settings have more contrast and pop. Would love to hear what you think though.

r/hometheater · LG G5 Oled vs Epson LS11000 I have both a G4 and an LS11000. The G4 is in my office and it has perfect picture no matter what, really great image quality. The LS11000 is in our living room that gets morning east sun. With blinds it's fine through the morning, maybe a little washed out. There is one point in mid afternoon (2ish) that sun comes in through a side window and washes the picture out completely. That doesn't bother me, I usually plan around it to go do something else for a bit. But it is completely unwatchable. It's on you if the few hours a day you cannot watch it is worth it for the projector. The 120" screen is pretty awesome. But also the G4 picture is so nice. Either is a great option.

If you swap out your screen for a grey ALR screen and properly calibrate the Epson PU1006, you can get a half decent image with *some* lights on. But that's not an insignificant amount of effort or expense. For the setup you have right now, the Epson LS11000 will better than the PU1006. And the Sony VPL-XW5000ES will be better than both.
r/hometheater · LG G5 Oled vs Epson LS11000 > This will be in our living room, and its got a lot of ambient light Other people will disagree, but this is a showstopper for me. It automatically means 83" OLED as far as I'm concerned. A projector is fantastic. Having a 120-150" image is an entirely different experience than any TV can currently offer. But it's just not going to be enjoyable unless you have light control.
r/hometheater · Epson LS11000 vs 4010 The LS11000 is very clearly better, but it's also double the price. It has a laser instead of a bulb. And it does 4x pixel shifting rather than 2x pixel shifting. So it can create a slightly sharper image. Both of them have worse black levels and contrast than the Epson projectors that have the "ultra black" polarizing layer to them, such as the Epson 5050UB and LS12000.
r/hometheater · Home Theater / TV Room - Projector vs UST vs TV If you want mixed lighting and a casual environment, I would probably just go with a 98-100" TV. As long as you're willing to take that 20 inch hit in screen size. From 12ft away, a 100" screen will look pretty decent. That is a 34 degree field of view. It will fall within SMPTE and THX's acceptable range. But it's not going to be cinematically immersive or anything like that. If you want to use a projector in a mixed lighting environment, you can go one of two ways: - Get the LS11000 and a standard white screen. It will look good with the lights off and you just accept that it will look kinda shitty with the lights on. - Total cost ends up being roughly $4300 for the projector and screen. - Spend significantly more on a nicer projector and an ALR screen, so that the image will look decent with some lights on: - So as it is, I don't love the LS11000's native contrast. The contrast and black levels are actually worse than the cheaper Epson 5050UB. Once you start turning on lights in the room, the LS11000's contrast will completely fall apart. So I would end up spending substantially more on the projector. $5K for the JVC NP5. Or the Sony VPL-XW5000ES/ Epson LS12000 if you don't want to deal with a bulb. - And the other half of the equation is the screen. For ALR performance, I'd want to get Seymour Matinee Wide. That's going to end up being $1550 for their 122" screen. If you buy both the projector and screen from Seymour together, they will get you a bit of a discount, but ultimately we are talking about $6K for the projector and screen together.

r/projectors · Epson LS11000 vs HC3800 It helps in dark content and that’s mainly it. Bright and mixed should be dimming the laser because then you lose highlights. But dark content is where low contrast struggles, so it really does help.
r/projectors · Epson LS11000 vs HC3800 The 11000 won’t have any more native contrast, but has laser dimming which is nice. The 12000 has a good amount of more native contrast and laser dimming too.
r/projectors · XGIMI Horizon Ultra - black levels Then he measured the dynamic contrast value where the laser level was changing between the black and white measurement. The other measurements you posted are all native contrast measurements where the light source stays the same between the white and black measurement.
r/projectors · XGIMI Horizon Ultra - black levels That’s not the right contrast for the ls11000. The ls11000 does not have epsons UB optical block in it and the native contrast is around 1500:1. The LS12000 is like the 5050UB and does have the UB optical block and is around 4000-5000:1 native contrast.

r/hometheater · LS11000 contrast at least as good as HC3500? LS12000 is what would suggest. The LS11000 is just worse at everything. Yes it’s cheaper, but what you gain from the LS12000 is well worth it. The 12000 significantly better native contrast (over double), better ANSI contrast, is brighter, plus it comes with a chief mount. If we compare the LS12000 to the NZ500 that I’m sure others will suggest, yes, NZ500 has better native contrast and tone mapping, but the LS12000 has better ANSI contrast, much better motion, is 4K120 capable, is brighter, it’s cheaper, plus it comes with a chief mount. The reason native does not matter as much as people think it does is because most content is not fully black. If you put a white square in the middle of an image with the LS12000 against the NZ500, the NZ500 blacks will be worse. It will be close, but the black will be worse. The only time it will matter is if the screen is significantly dark like credits, or the very dark scenes like Game of Thrones. With how rare those scenes are, I’d rather have the all around benefit of ANSI over native any day.

The screen is excellent and certainly looks more professional than wall paint IMO. LS12000 is definitely a step up from the LS11000 (primarily better blacks), out of the two the 12K all the way. FYI, my theater is a fully light controlled bat-cave.

r/projectors · Epson 5050UB or LS11000 to replace 5030UB. Regardless of your white walls, there's a big native contrast difference between the 11000 and 5050UB [link](https://www.projectorscreen.com/blog/Epson-LS11000-vs-Epson-5050UB-projector-comparison) that I think you'll definitely notice. An Iris is more for scene compensation - if you have a scene that is majority dark, the iris adjusts for it - but if you have mixed light and dark content in a scene the darker content will be much more easily washed out (like the sun shining brightly through a window while other parts of the scene are still in shadow). However, it sounds like you're favoring more hassle-free operation so the 11000 might be a better fit.
r/projectors · Epson 5050UB or LS11000 to replace 5030UB. At 110" and 15' seating distance, most of the benefit of 4k is lost, so that shouldn't be a major part of your decision. As for the rest, yes, this is really a case where you wish you could try them. Since this is a purchase you will live with for years, you may consider purchasing both, trying them and keeping the one you prefer. It's a hassle doing a return but justified, and if they're already renewed/refurbed, it won't detract from the sale value of the unit for the vendor.

r/projectors · Hisense C2Ultra vs Benq x3100i X3000i owner- I wouldn’t bother with the x3100i if you have to put it in the corner and use keystone. This projector is purpose built for low latency gaming but using any keystone disables this core feature so I’d probably cross this off your list given the use case. Your budget is pretty high to the point I would look at some higher end models on sale or refurbished. They will have lens shift that allows for flexible placement without the compromise of keystoning. And as a plus they will almost certainly have better contrast. Epson 5050 (downside of bulb) or ls11000 (laser w/downside of needing to wait for refurb stock and still being a little above budget) both have been around the 2500 price at various points. If you don’t really care about the above stuff the c2 seems pretty easy to place and has auto keystone. Not this sub’s cup of tea but sometimes you just want something that works and doesn’t require you to rearrange your room just to watch something.

r/projectors · Help me decide - LG CineBeam HU810PW or Epson Home Cinema LS11000 Do not get the lg810. I had that and could not get it to look good or calibrate properly no matter how hard I tried. Probably one of the most frustrating display devices I have ever had. It is so close to being great but let down by poor colour in hdr, hdr/sdr colour handling in general, red laser speckle, poor native contrast gives a very flat image and the .47” dmd had a stuck pixel just after a year. The optics weren’t very good either. The Epson will best the 810 in every meaningful way. I ended up returning the 810 (warranty) and “downgraded” to an Epson 3800 for a few years until laser gets fully sorted out. Turns out the 3800 is an absolute banger of a pj. Can’t believe how good this thing is once dialed in. The colour is a wee bit heavy handed but superbly accurate, motion and contrast are good, just an all around very enjoyable picture, especially for the price. The ls1100 should be fantastic but think it has a bit of elevated black levels vs similar bulb based epsons (5050)

r/projectors · replacing a projector: screen question and other options I know... but my priority is in not having the rainbow effect. The number of projectors that will not exhibit the rainbow effect AND have true 4K is very limited, especially in a price that is acceptable to me so I have to prioritize (which is why I wrote it is less of an issue). Outside of the LS11000, the only ones that come to mind are some RGB laser/led models, but even there the lack of RBE is not certain. However, as it turns out, the LS11000 is more in my price-range than I thought, especially if it reaches some promotional price it had in the past. :-)
r/projectors · replacing a projector: screen question and other options I may have an issue with the LS11000... its minimum throw distance is 3.1m, which at wide-angle gives 100". My throw distance is very close to that, if not shorter (given the fact that the LW11000 is bigger and there is no space to move backward). So I'll really have to measure that I'm not below that distance. Currently playing around with throw distance calculators and measurements but if it fits it still seems I'll end up with a smaller image that with my TW2900. Not dramatically smaller, but first I need to be sure I'm within spec.
r/projectors · replacing a projector: screen question and other options From the other thread on the EB10000, it seems to be that it may be difficult to position something below the LS11000: remove motorized zoom, focus and lens-shift, and remove lens memory, yes... But image-wise... less lumen would put it well behind the TW7100 (which has 3000 compared to the LS11000's 2000), other image aspects would either put it close or below the TW7100 or too close to the LS11000... I don't have to buy now, so I'll wait to see if Cedia brings more... but meanwhile I've set a price-alert on the LS11000. Apparently it has in the past gone close to 3000 euro, so when it gets close to that point again I think I'll bite. A bit more than I wanted to spend, but considering that it is a drop-in replacement with no significant changes I save a bit that way.
r/projectors · replacing a projector: screen question and other options Yes... and with so few LCD options on the market (Panasonic used to have such nice ones). About the LS11000: the manual does not state how much space there should be clear on the back of the projector... It has no grills there so airflow would not be blocked, but does that mean a few cm is enough? I have a wall near the back-end of the projector.... Related to this: but where is the center of gravity of the projector? My universal mount can take the projector, but it is a Benq mount with a ball-joint like part, and it is not straight forward to level it if the center of gravity is not under the ball (it droops a bit after locking). With my current projector it is slightly forward (but has to be as it needs airflow from the back), the LS11000 is slightly bigger but can perhaps be closer to the wall. I can still hold out till my projector dies but also would not like to miss out if e.g. the LS11000 disappears and nothing new turns up in an interesting price range. (my TW2900 has the iris problem, not too frequent yet but its been acting up for over a year now... however it is also nearing its time on the lamp - so something just has to give sooner rather than later).

r/projectors · Projector Recommendations Around $3-$4k Absolutely. I wouldn’t call Valerion or Xgimi fly by night operations. Both have been on the market for some time and sell through many of the same retail channels as Epson does. Warranty support has to this point been fine from both companies. Given that, I’d say that the question here is whether $1k is worth a stronger guarantee that replacement parts will exist outside the warranty period. Considering the exceptionally long life of laser light sources I decided for my own purchase that a better performing projector offered for less money with identical warranty support was the better deal in today’s market. Others may have different priorities than mine but I don’t think that Valerion and xgimi selling on Kickstarter is a compelling reason to ignore their products.
r/projectors · Projector Recommendations Around $3-$4k That’s less true now than it has been at any point in the last decade. Home tri laser projectors are among the most significant ever quality improvements in the sub-$10k home projection space and the tech is advancing rapidly year on year—better DBL algorithms, reduced RBE, improved native brightness/contrast/gamut, etc. On the horizon we have higher refresh rate and VRR DLP chips and lasers with broader emissions spectra to reduce speckle. It’s a great time for home projection. None of that detracts from the quality of your unit but it does mean that there are better options for buying new today. Similarly, I’m blown away by the quality of my Valerion Pro2 but would likely recommend that someone buying new go for the Titan Noir Max, which is an overall superior unit for a similar price despite the Valerion itself still being very new to market compared to your Epson.

r/projectors · Projector Recommendations Around $3-$4k Bought a refurbed LS11000 1 year ago for a basement, ceiling mounted projection, ALR gray screen. Very happy with my purchase. Yeah, the darks could be darker and I want more contrast, but it is a reliable projector from a reliable brand, colors are great, plenty bright, fan is noticable but quiet and not intrusive. I chose the Epson primarily avoid rainbow effect. It notably has very flexible placement with vertical+ horizonal lens shift and a wide throw ratio with its zoom- this is a very important when selecting a projector so be mindful of this. Some projectors I was considered did not fit my requirements for throw ratio. https://www.projectorcentral.com/projection-calculator-pro.cfm- use this for finding projectors that fit your throw and screen requirements. The Epson comes with a good warranty and excellent customer service. My first LS11000 has a power issue, Epson overnighted another refurbed unit and I returned the lemon, no biggie. There's better projectors: valareion vision pro max, refurb LS12000 (if you stretch your budget this would be great), probably the titan noir (though this is just a kickstarter and only reviewed by YouTube reviews). The ls11000 was a great start to my journey.

r/projectors · Epson 5050UB / 6050UB or Epson LS11000 In a completely light-controlled basement, the 5050UB or 6050UB is usually the best home theater pick; the LS11000 has worse contrast, so not the best pick for an HT setup. Lamps are $300 through a dealer, but can be found cheaper. ~9.5 months in and I’m just over 300hrs. r/projectors · Comparison - Running the Valerion Visionmaster Max alongside the Epson LS11000 for a month >Colors often tinted too green, even when applying different color temperature options This needs clarifying, this is not a defect with the projector, but a problem with your eyes, the Valerion is RGB Laser while the Epson is not, it means the Valerion has a much higher Color gamut, and your eyes can't see the red as well as it should. That's why the image looks green. Personally don't have issues with the remote, you learn the button layout relatively quickly and from there the backlight is useless, only really matters in the first week of use imo. The different colours between the images have less Todo with it being DLP, it comes back to why it looks green to you, cheap filters on shitty cameras (includes TOTL phone cameras) have problems with the immense Color gamut and can't properly capture it. the only cameras I was able to get a somewhat representative image is with >1000€ dedicated full frame cameras.

If they don't, then I don't know what to say. The fact that Epson (known specifically for their color accuracy) has better colors is not surprising. And while you can find many praising reviews of the Valerion, even from this forum I feel their influencer marketing campaign is very intense. I cannot stand any amount of RBE and the idea of it just seems silly to me, so I'm stuck with Epson, but I am not surprised that one of their top offerings should be superior to some relatively noname DLP. Even if the 4K is faked.

r/projectors · Choosing a projector for a living room - LG HU710PW or BenQ TK710 If anybody stumbles on this post of mine. Using the information provided by TechNick1-1 I did some additional research and have ultimately purchased an Epson LS11000. Very happy with the purchase, I have managed to snag it for 2760 EUR. I doubt I would've paid its full price as it was way out of my budget, but I found a good deal at a shop that was also happy to take it back if I had any issues with the DLP rainbow effect. Why did not I settle for HU710PW? Primarily because it's rather dim. It's probably more than enough for night time viewing or light controlled environments, but I was looking for a projector to place in a living room with ample light. LS11000 does no wonders here and is still pretty dim with direct sunlight hitting the room, but on cloudy days I can watch it just fine and things should get better as soon as I get some curtains in there. LS11000 draws up to 311 Watts whereas HU710PW caps out at 210 Watts. You cannot make a bright enough picture with less than 300 Watts.

r/projectors · Epson LS12000 vs 3800 I get it that’s amazing. Let me see how I can calibrate dynamic. Would I realistically use two modes? One for low ambient light daylight watching, and one for pitch black movie watching?
r/projectors · Epson LS12000 vs 3800 I just got a LS11000 but have seen a LS12000 and they seem very close. It sure is a nice projector! Do laser projectors really get down to true black? My blacks do not look as black as OLED to me, but its possible I had too much ambient light going on.. They look something like a GOOD QLED TV
r/projectors · Looking for suggesting on home theater projector replacement, too many options out there If you aren’t using it more than an hour or two a day, I hear very very good things about the epsons. I paid a bit over your budget for a LS11000, but side by side reviews put the epson bulb projectors a tiny bit better image and brightness.

r/projectors · I'm about to get the Epson LS11000... I’m still happy with the LS11000 but have a completely dark room. If the LS12000 was $500 difference I’d do that.

r/projectors · Epson LS11000 calibrated lumen brightness question vs 5050UB I just checked and there is a refurbished LS11000 for $3,299 on Amazon. Mine was $2,899 and it came from Epson and then shipped from Amazon. Took three weeks to get it. There was not a single thing I could see that looked used about it except that it had a “Re-newed” sticker on it. When you buy refurbished from Epson, there are no returns. When you buy from Amazon it’s 90 days return for any reason.
r/projectors · Epson LS11000 calibrated lumen brightness question vs 5050UB $2800 refurb from Epson (via Amazon because they have 90 day return policy). Looked brand new.
r/projectors · Epson LS11000 calibrated lumen brightness question vs 5050UB Nope. Don’t know. They say 5050UB has better blacks like the LS12000 but I think it looks great
r/projectors · Epson LS11000 calibrated lumen brightness question vs 5050UB I run my LS11000 at 50-60% in completely dark room.

r/projectors · I'm about to get the Epson LS11000... How's it look so far? My optoma UHZ65 went out, and the repairs are ridiculous. Im on the fence. According to the Google ai, the contrast and blacks are better on the LS11000, but it doesn't make sense considering the dynamic contrast of my old uhz was 2mil/1 while the ls11000 is 1mil/ roughly. 2500 lumens vs my old 3000 lumens is another area of concern, but idk how much 500 lumens of a difference would look like in the same room. I would love the option of the lS12000 but its not an option for me.

r/projectors · 4K Projector Upgrade Help I suppose I could wait, although I'd probably be hoping for a price drop on the current models, rather than getting a newer one. I think I'm currently leaning towards either the TW7100 (which I fear I'll regret as its not as much of an upgrade), but will literally be a drop in replacement, so will make installation quick and easy. The other option is the LS11000, which will be a PITA to install as my retractable ceiling mount isn't big enough, or will at least need moving further away from the wall to accommodate. From what I can tell from reading various articles there isn't a lot of difference between the LS11000 and the LS12000. The LS12000 does come with a bunch of extras that I don't need, so its hard to justify the additional £800 on it.

r/projectors · Epson LS11000 Refurb The 8350 was definitely a good projector. I was quite happy with it for many years. But now that I have seen the LS11000, going back would be like watching cable TV at 480p. From what I have read, the LS11000 doesn't support 4K / 30. The issue might be my HDMI cable, though. I am using a PS5 as source and even tried plugging the projector directly into it to bypass the amp, and it still doesn't work.
r/projectors · Epson LS11000 Refurb No, unfortunately. I had every intent to do a before and after but already knew that the 8350 was on its last legs and I was a bit too eager to get the LS11000 set up. I was starting to see hazy areas of grey in the white parts of the image on the 8350. At first, I thought it was the projector screen or something on the lens, but I confirmed it was on the image by using the lens shift and the hazy areas moved along with it. Aside from the cracked piece on the unit, I'm very happy with the picture. The difference between the LS11000 and 8350 is night and day. I still can't believe how much color depth and sharpness there is in the image, even out of the box. I did a bit of tweaking using the Disney WOW disc but didn't change the settings much. I have a fully light controlled room, dark grey walls, and black ceiling and am using a very old Denon AVR1713 receiver. One issue that I've had is that I haven't been able to get the image past 1080p, likely due to this receiver being fairly vintage (it apparently doesn't support 4K / 60 Hz), so I think that's going to be next to upgrade. Even at 1080p, it's quite stunning, and I'm not at all dissatisfied with it if I never push it past that. Overall, this is a huge upgrade over the 8350. I'm also happy that I won't need to mess around with the bulbs anymore and having to fiddle with the settings as the bulbs start to fade out.
r/projectors · Epson LS11000 Refurb Ok that's good to know. I guess that my expectation was that refurb would at least not be shipped with a pretty clear issue that should be caught on visual inspection, although I read quite a few posts about the Epson lottery. Looks like no issues with image quality and the unit says 0h. On a more positive note, the picture quality really is stunning, so from that perspective I am very happy. I can't believe the difference compared to the 8350.

r/projectors · Epson LS11000 - In apartment I wouldn't unless you have a really big room. Assuming you're sitting behind the projector, if the lens is 5 ft from the wall, you're looking at like a 50 inch image. Suggest looking at ultra short throw projectors. r/projectors · Epson LS11000 - In apartment You can, but bear in mind that it would need to be fairly low to the ground to achieve a large screen, as projectors are designed to shoot up relative to the controls when placed on a table. That will put it at increased risk of being knocked over or spilled on by any passers-by. Did this in college with an old Dell projector, and it lasted about 3 months until a party foul took it out of action. If you are dead set on a projector, I'd take the money and go for an Ultra Short Throw like the Epson EpiqVision Ultra LS800B. You'd actually be saving money, and securing a little piece of mind.

r/projectors · Projector decision I'd go with the 5050UB, I'm really not sold on laser yet. I know that 20k hours is a long time and depending on your useage it will probably be fine. I just don't like the idea of buying something that is unserviceable. Personally I would buy the 5050UB and a couple of spare bulbs in case they become unavailable at some point. I realize that the fact bulbs might become unavailable kind of renders my original point meaningless, but I don't like supporting forced obsolescence.

r/projectors · Help me decide - LG CineBeam HU810PW or Epson Home Cinema LS11000 So I've had the LG HU810PW for a little of 3 years. About 6 months ago a dead pixel showed up in the far left of the screen. Which I was okay with because it didn't effect the picture much, but then another dead pixel showed up and it was dead center this time. Well I decided to buy the BenQ HT4550i. I've had it about a week and a half now, but I will be returning it next week. It has a great picture and the color accuracy is great. However, I've had HDMI handshake issues with it. Just to get my Roku to show up I have to keep tapping the home button until the BenQ finally recognizes it. I had a 32ft fiber optic HDMI 2.0 cable and I never had an issue using it with the LG. I decided to buy a more expensive 33ft fiber optic HDMI 2.1 cable to see if it would help and it's actually no better. I also couldn't get eARC working with it either. I also had another bizarre issue where switching between HDR and SDR content would cause the screen to pixelate. I would then have to toggle the 24p setting on and off it get it to snap out. Well I just purchased the EPSON LS11000 to replace the BenQ. Fingers crossed I have no more issues. I've read great things about it. I paid full price, but it will be worth it if it last longer than the LG which I paid $3,000 originally. I can report back if anyone cares after I get the ESPON.

r/projectors · New 2024/2025 Epson projectors Yes you should. You shouldn’t buy a LS11000 anyway because the native contrast is about ~2,000:1 where as the native contrast on the LS12000 is about 5,000:1 That’s a significant difference and to most enthusiasts would be worth the extra 20% price increase.

r/projectors · Comparison - Running the Valerion Visionmaster Max alongside the Epson LS11000 for a month Unfortunately, I don't think this is a fair representation. You mention the clearly worse-looking projector doesn't actually look like this in real life, but viewers have no way to verify that claim. I'm sure this isn't your intention, but this reads like a hit piece. You're not overly critical of the projector that looks worse in your image, yet you ultimately favor the one that looks better in the comparison. I found it hard to believe the Valerion Visionmaster Max could actually look this poor (and I have no stake in this product), so I looked up reviews myself. A quick check of YouTube videos shows that other reviewers don't encounter this quality issue at all. Again, I don't think you're doing this intentionally, but the comparison is misleading and gives uninformed viewers the wrong impression. If I were making the same comparison, I'd capture both projectors as true to life as possible. Putting them side by side clearly causes issues with your camera's image capture. The fact that you noticed this problem but didn't attempt to correct it is concerning. A fairer approach would be to photograph each projector separately under identical conditions, then present those images side by side.

From the picture the top right is clearly better. Even with the softness of a “faux K” projector I’ll take the Epson anytime. Now compare to a Sony or JVC and really inhale on the pipe!
Why would you choose keystone??? This is the single most detrimental adjustment in a projector. I’m not a huge fan of Epson, but I’ll take an LCD every time over RBE and laser sparkle. Add keystone…it’s a no brainer. If you want something a step up from the Epson buy a Sony or JVC with native 4K, better color, better contrast, better motion, and the best processing.
