r/projectors · First projector setup: BenQ TK705i vs TK700, and what 120-inch screen should I buy? Do NOT buy the TK700. That's a lamp-based projector. It's 2026, don't buy a lamp-based projector. Buy a fixed frame screen, if at all possible. A matte white screen is much better in a dark room. Every day of the week.
r/projectors · Best bang for buck 4k projector over 3000lm, 120" at 12'? The TK700 is a lamp based projector using the older .47" pixel shifter to get 4K out of it. So, the TK710 goes to the newer/larger .65" DLP chip which will hopefully be more reliable and seems to give a boost to contrast, and the laser light system which should last many many years. Pretty massive upgrade between the two models for sure.

r/projectors · Seeking advice: Daily-usage projector for less than 2000€, TV replacement, long-throw I did a lot of research about the same thing recently for our home cinema / gaming room, and the TK710 is the best option under 2000, followed by the TK700. Reason why I went for the TK710 is because on paper it will last twice as long as the TK700.

r/projectors · BenQ TK700 or TK705STi? If the price difference is relatively small, I'd still lean toward the TK705STi. The image quality and gaming performance are very similar, but the short-throw lens gives you a lot more flexibility for setup and future upgrades.

r/projectors · Setting up a simple home theater I had the BenQ TK700 for a year, then upgraded to BenQ HT4550i. Pretty happy with it so far. Bought both certified refurbished from Prycedin on eBay, no complaints.
r/projectors · Setting up a simple home theater If you have ambient light, TK700 is not going to be super great with dark scenes in movies. Ht4550i will be slightly better, but can't compare with TVs. At night without any ambient light, both are great.
r/projectors · Setting up a simple home theater Ceiling mounted with a throw distance of around 13ft 4in, 150inch screen. I'm not a projector expert, learning from folks here as I read posts. But I used the projector for a lot of 4k gaming, and during daytime TK700 was really struggling with contrast with dark scenes. I have blackout curtains but sometimes too lazy to draw all of them, since the setup is in the living room with many windows. With ht4550i, contrast is much better. When I upgraded, the TK700 only had 500 lamp hours, so no degradation. Other than the contrast, TK700 was pretty good in general, but the lens shift, build in Android TV, and faster starting time of ht4550i are also very nice to have.

r/projectors · BenQ TK700 or TK705STi? Happy to help! Hope you enjoy whichever one you end up with. Both are capable projectors, so it's hard to make a bad choice here.

r/projectors · Setting up a simple home theater # I'm seeing the BenQ TK700 3200-Lumen XPR 4K UHD Gaming DLP Projector listed for $1,300 which is a pretty good deal. I don't do a lot of gaming and am mostly interested in a projector for movies. However, my room does have ambient light in day so wondering if this would be a good one as well for movies?

r/projectors · BenQ x3100i sudden failure, help! Thanks, I'm not worried about it getting it fixed or replaced, what I'm trying to figure out is why? Both projectors were BenQ (TK700, x3100i), both died in different ways around the two year mark with only moderate use, and BenQ is so confident in their product they offer one of the better service warranties in the business.

r/projectors · Seeking advice: Daily-usage projector for less than 2000€, TV replacement, long-throw You just have to do better research and/or read more in this Subreddit... \^\_° 4LED (RGB+ LED) Projectors like the BenQ X500i or BenQ X3000/X3100 are preferable before Single Laser with Phosphorwheel like the TK710. As for the TK700. The brighter and more silent Acer Models like the H6805Bda is preferable. r/projectors · Setting up a simple home theater May I know what is your screen size? How was the TK700? Curious to know why you upgraded? TK700 is an LED light source native 4k 2500 ANSI. So you shouldnt have lamp degradation issues I believe.

Hi Op, thanks for posting, for a portable setup I’d recommend these options: **Disclaimer: As an Amazon Associate and eBay Partner, I earn from qualifying purchases made through the links in this post at no additional cost to you.** **From Amazon Canada:** **•** [**BenQ TK700 4K Projector**](https://amzn.to/4pGjNoE) **•** [**Anker Nebula Cosmos 4K**](https://amzn.to/4b7EKmy) **•** [**BenQ LH650 Laser Projector**](https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B0C8C51B61/ref=cm_sw_r_as_gl_api_gl_i_290JSATH1CN74V3GSE9C?linkCode=ml1&tag=brandonkinney-20&linkId=bba9863c09253f2012551d014ada951b) • [**Epson Home Cinema 980**](https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B0FHYGPHKS/ref=cm_sw_r_as_gl_api_gl_i_JQNRKM67ZV0PG4T9ZNZD?linkCode=ml1&tag=brandonkinney-20&linkId=6fa7d69f5e7e88f6d036496897e653ad) I’m not particularly fond of inflatable screens because of their thin screen material and the noise they make from the blower. However, if I had to choose one it would be this one here: **•** [**124” inflatable Screen**](https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B08V8YS653/ref=cm_sw_r_as_gl_api_gl_i_2960NH54YDY2BPNR5K1D?linkCode=ml1&tag=brandonkinney-20&linkId=5a4860bcfdc4f386dc3ece19279ee9e9) For the best experience and image quality a fast fold fixed frame would be better. I’d recommend these options: • [Elite Screens YardMaster 2 120”](https://amzn.to/4c3fBcS) • [JWSIT 120” Outdoor Screen](https://amzn.to/44RMlC3) **Note that the JWSIT** **Option** **is not sold by JWSIT itself, which is cheaper in the US.** If you would be interested in looking at some eBay options as well just let me know.
