    r/projectors · Hisense C1 vs Hisense C2 vs Epson 5050UB →2024-09-20

If you have good flexibility with placement, there’s nothing wrong with the C1. I have it and love it. However, it has no keystone, no optical zoom, no lens shift, and an extremely short throw distance. If none of those things are an issue use for you, then the C1 is awesome. I’ve never seen a C2 in person, but it fixed all of those issues and has a higher lumens brightness. It is permanently attached to a gimbal. Honestly, if my C1 ever goes out, I’m getting the C2 Ultra no questions asked. I can’t tell you much about the Epson other than it’s massively larger than the other ones. I would say that people will give you a lot of information about their experiences online, but they gloss over those little things like fan noise and the amount of heat the projector gives out. There are other things that matter to me like having to auto focus every time or the projector defaulting to it’s internal OS and not the hdmi port. Before I bought the C1 I had a BenQ and I would have to reset the focus each time I powered it up (defective unit I think) and if there was a heater on in the room, the fans would take off like a jet engine. I returned it and got the C1 which was hard to position but had none of those issues.

Great, I’ve had mine for over a month now and loving it! Did you get audio passthrough to work over Earc? It doesn’t pass through Atmos full HD audio for me

My 75” LG has been having issues with its back light lately and I got tired of it going out while watching tv. I was debating buying a new tv or going the projector route. I have about a 14’x14, living room space with the couch being about 12-13’ from where a projector screen would go and could easily ceiling mount a projector like this one 6-8’ away. Those that have this unit are you happy with it ?

Will give external speakers a try, although I think it’s the built in app that the issue. I should connect a fire stock see if that helps. Apart from the sound issue I have the c1 is great!

blacks colors look black in daytime, but in dark they look dark gray and the are above and below the picture looks gray too instead of black. may feel better with imax screen. i think depends on the source and streaming quality. But you dont miss details in dark scene

From what I've seen the Hisense C1 is a better projector if you lower the lights and watch mainly at night. During the day it may not have the brightness capabilities.

    r/projectors · Buying Guidance Appreciated: Hisense C1 vs. BenQ TK860i vs BenQ W2710i →2023-10-19

The W2710 (HT3560 in the USA) is not a particularly bright projector. It's not terrible, but please understand, it was designed to be used in a dark theater, as almost ALL projectors were designed for. If you expect people to watch with blinds open and light pouring in, you will find it to be a horrible to completely unusable image. The W2710 is just a marginal improvement over the HT3550 reviewed here: https://www.projectorcentral.com/BenQ-HT3550-review.htm So, I'd probably skip the W2710 in favor of the TK860i. The predecessors were put against each other here... https://www.projectorcentral.com/BenQ-HT3550-vBenQ-TK850.htm ...and basically the TK850 is a model for a moderately lit family room (your room) and the HT3550 is for a theater (not your room). Next generation is just more of the same. The TK860i is the better choice. Make sure you know how to use the throw distance calculator properly. You must have the lens to screen distance between 9'10"-12'9" to get a 120" diagonal. You cannot have the lens further back than that 12'9" distance, and I'd put it at least at 12'6" or a bit closer if possible. https://www.projectorcentral.com/BenQ-TK860i-projection-calculator-pro.htm The Hisense C1 isn't a bad projector, but it's not the N1 Ultra by a fair bit. It's pretty average on brightness and contrast. It has no lens zoom at all and fixed lens offset. So, you must place it EXACTLY at 10'6" lens to screen to get your 120" diagonal. If that's not possible, or ideal, then skip it for sure. Still, the TK860i is likely the better choice. https://www.projectorcentral.com/Hisense-C1-projection-calculator-pro.htm#calc

    r/projectors · Hisense C1 vs Stream master Plus →2025-07-20

That's a great write up. My experience so far has been fairly similar. I did think the overall image quality was quite good but given all the hype around these projectors I was a little disappointed with some of the issues I experienced. The color shifting with EBL is quite annoying. It is interesting seeing you post about the high altitude bug as I discovered the same thing this evening. I do wonder given all the hype I have read if the vision master projectors look significantly better. My understanding was the only difference between them is brightness and contrast but perhaps that's not correct.

Oh no, I thought this projector didn't cause the rainbow effect. I was thinking of buying this or the c2 ultra but I'll have to see it in a store first to make sure (I'm sensitive to this effect) :(

I‘m also thinking of buying the Hisense C1 beamer for my bedroom. I’m relatively new to beamers. I just have a question regarding speakers. I want to place the beamer on the side table. Is it possible to connect the C1 via bluetooth to Sonos speakers or some other speakers? Or are you limited to the eArc / cable?

Ouch I’m sorry to hear about the issues! Seems to be more and more common of late. Pros: They are both laser while I’m sure many enjoy led etc.. I think they give a more crisp image. EF-12 is powerful and the image truly is great. But the C1 is lights out to me maybe it’s pseudo but thus far I’ve enjoyed the image and adjustability of the C1 dv on Netflix and Disney is great. The other big issue I had was my soundbar and some equipment didn’t want to work with the EF-12 trying to do certain features would cause it blink or “glitch” might have just been the HDMI ports didn’t support or I just didn’t hook something up correctly as well. The C1 I’ve had no issues thus far get ATMOS from my soundbar I can use auto adjust frame rate etc. If you’re happy with the money spent EF-12 is great and I’m sure you’ll be happy but if you’re like me and always crave a lil more I’d get the C1 orrr you could big ball it and message @projectionhead and get one of the new C2 ultras they have in.

Interesting, I wouldn't think a laser projector would have RBE but I've never tried one out. Or is it possible Hisense is fudging on using laser to describe it when it's actually a DLP? Either way at 1500 you're better off just getting an Epson 3800, 3LCD is the only way I'll go at this point.

Yeah seen it quite an impressive review. The x500i looks like it has better contrast for some reason just curious if it’s due to the brightness levels. If you set the brightness abit lower still being decently bright how is it ?
