I end up getting both but I used the rotary 7000series first I haven’t open the box of ONE blade yet I might just return it or give it as a xmas gift to family or friends. 7000 Series is doing good so far i used it every 2 days and it gives a really smooth close shave to my face and neck however I tried to used it to my balls just out of curiosity and then bam nick my skin balls and bleed a little lol not doing it again… I used it dry tho like I don’t wanna use it with shaving cream because I don’t want to clean with water and too much work lol… the Cleaning solution comes with it I haven’t used it as well not sure if actually works to clean the rotatory. I just got my first electric shaver Philips 7000 series Rotary i dont have much facial hair but rotary does the job I just found its tricky to get around to my moustache and chin but i shave closed and clean up can use it wet or dry too.

r/shaving · Braun or Philips Ilwithbelevtric shavers there two main ones. Rotary head and foil. The Braun isba foil. I think the foil gets the closest shave. Ibhave theb series 7 360degreee. It's great but if your not efficient with it can cause a little bit or ittiataiton. I also have the rotary Phillips norelco 7000. I love it. And it has a stand that cleans it. Ibdont use it. But there is an app that bit can sync with thatvwill help you get better at shaving and all that. The Braun 9000+ whatever mentioned. Is an excellent unit. But at double the cost of the 7. It's only slightly better performance wise. If that isnr issue for your. That's what you should get

It's been a while since I've used the 7000 but I don't think there are significant differences in closeness. I do miss the rotary shaver motion (circles) in certain places e.g. chin, but I believe the OneBlade causes less irritation (due to less blade friction)

Electric shavers don’t work as well as blades, but you can get a good shave by spending more time with the electric, change the direction you are shaving in often. Have you tried an after shave balm? There are ones for sensitive skin that are also have antiseptic ingredients that can help. What model is the Philips Norelco? The alleged best one is the 9000 series rotary, I have literally just bought the 7000 series one and it does do a good job. All the best with it

r/shaving · How clean of a shave is a realistic expectation on the legs (for men) I use a Norelco 7000 series razor, the same I use on my face. On the rest of my body I shave with a milti-blade safety razor and shave gel in the shower and then shave again with the electric once I have dried off. For my legs I just use the electric after I shower and dry. The nice thing with the legs is you can go over it again and again and run your hand over your legs to see if they are smooth enough or you have missed the backs where you can't see. I am medium hairy but afterward I am baby smooth for a good 6 or 8 hours with no stubble feel at all. Also the Norelco is wet or dry so you could use it with shave gel in the shower if you want. I have done that with my face lathered with shave gel and then use the electric in the shower as it is a little messy at the sink. Again for me baby smooth. Best of luck!

r/shaving · Good beard trimmers Those are electric razors with trimmers on them. I have a series 9 [for shaving] and it is fast but sucks at shaving the neck. I would look at something like PhilipsNorelco series 7000. When I have a beard I use the smallest guard and it works well.

Bring him to a Target and let him pick something out if you want to get electric. I have a Norelco 7000 series rotary shaver and I quite like it. Useless for a beard. Personal grooming is super important. I seem to have figured this out in my mid 40s.

I’ve always used Phillips and when my old shaver broke I bought a 7000 series 10 years ago for cheap 120$ never loved it but it was fine blades are discontinued. For years I’ve been thinking of upgrading and was trying to decide Braun top of the line or Phillips. Since the i9000 had such good reviews and I’ve had Phillips before went with it. First shave felt rough on the skin probably cause it was cutting way closer than i was use to with other shaver. And since then hasnt been a problem. Probably cant go wrong wither way would love to try a braun one day to.

For decades, I dealt with skin irritation and could never get a really clean shave because of how coarse my facial hair is. I was limited to using 2 blade razors, anything more would really irritate my skin. More recently, I switched to a 3 head Philips Series 7000 electric shaver. It doesn’t give a super close shave, but it gets me close enough, and the irritation is completely gone. I also use it with shave gel, which seems to help a lot.

r/shaving · Norelco pulling out hair? You didn't mention which shaver, but I found down below that it's a Series 7000. I also have a Series 7000 from Costco, and it's a far cry from the Series 6000 I gave to my son. I can use his and mine side by side and it's night and day. Mine pulls hair painfully uncomfortably even on a full charge, but his is like butter. I think the big factor is that his sounds like it spins much faster. My advice is that they change models every 5 minutes for marketing purposes, and some of them them are just bad. Try a different one.

r/shaving · Have Philips shavers gotten worse over time? Not sure as I do not know the 6990. But I think the quality is still great on the shaver. Have an almost 10year old 7000 that still work. But. As you say older shavers with the lift & cut blades did shave closer. But some with sensitive skin could get a little red from those. I have never had a problem. Just what I heard on internet a time ago. If you are not completely fed up I would try to keep at it as the new ones seem to break in and shave closer after some time. We are talking months unfortunately here.

Went through 3 in 3 years, was meh Decent close shaving but HORRIBLE sound Last year I give it a try to Philips Series 7000 Rotary shaver Let me tell you my dude, this one is incredible. I think I should have even gone with the Series 9000 which is not that much more expensive Almost no sound or very light buzzing sound compared to Arc 5 (game changer) Easy cleaning Cheap replacement parts Take it with the plastic base and you have an even easier cleaning method That plus a beard brush and some good quality beard soap, makes wonders in 6-8mn I would just recommend NOT shaving in "small circles" as explained in the manual Just do a pass against the grain directly and another from left to right. And voila

r/shaving · Should I switch to an electric razor or keep using a razor blade? Apples and oranges. I have a good collection of wet shaving supplies including several higher end double edged razors and straight razors. They take a lot of work and discipline to use and maintain. I can get a very good close shave with that set. It will last two or maybe 3 days before I need another session. I need to take a shower first and the shave takes 20 minutes or more to do depending on "weapon of choice". I can get home from work and run my Phillips 7000 series for about two minutes and have a passable result. A little rough and not bbs, but workable. So two or three minutes a day vs half an hour plus a shower (second for the day) and the answer is clear. Don't get me wrong. I love my Ralf Austs and Oli Works but I just don't want to invest the time and effort all the time.

It is good but still does not feel a close as i woukd like. I have not uses the one blade but i figure its similar. Either would be fine. But if you are wanting to save more and not deal with eletlctric, a safety razor woukd save you in the long run. The handle can cause about $20-50 and you can get replacement blades for cheep. I bought 100 replacement blades for $10.

r/shaving · Norelco pulling out hair? So I came looking for answers. I’ve used my Nerelco 7000 for about 3 years now. I’ve changed the rotary blades twice now. The last time was recently, less than a month ago. I shave every 2 days. But now, shaving pulls my facial hair. Yes, I expect this with more than 3 days without shaving, but now it happens with only 1 day without shaving. Curious to see what everyone says. I think I may have just bought bad new rotary blades because the severe pulling started with the new blades. Or maybe there’s something else I should be replacing

I have a 7000 as well and I think its great, amazing battery life and nice attachments, I actually used it to cut my hair a few times during the height of COVID lockdowns lol. It feels solidly built and is(was?) pretty affordable for -$50 or so. When I bought it I researched a fair bit beforehand and it was in a lot of top five type lists or compared against top rated shavers; so theres that too. I checked their webpage and apparently the 7000 is discontinued, it looks like the 9000 is basically the same thing with a larger battery (or smaller/more efficient motor?) and a few extra attachments. Not as affordable as the 7000 either at just under $100…. I’m sure you could find the 7000 on Amazon or elsewhere .

r/shaving · Are there any electric razors that achieve a shave as close as a safety razor? I have a Norelco 7000 series that I got for Christmas in 1993. The battery still works like new, and I use it every day. I always let it run down completely before charging, which it needs every two months. I just got new heads for it, and it’s working like new again. I just got a new 3000 series for Christmas, and it shaves closer than the old one, but they’re comparable. My son is now using the old one for his peach fuzz. I’d say any of the newer Norelco rotary shavers do a really good job. Every once in a while I use a blade and get a slightly closer shave, but it’s not worth giving up the Norelco. Buy one on Amazon, use it for a week, and if you don’t like it, send it back. I love both of mine. The convenience is definitely worth switching.

r/shaving · Men who own a Braun shaver, how close is the shave? I have the philips 7000 series and if you need a quick shave, and shave often, then its great. Might miss the occasional hair and I think it struggles with curved areas like my neck under my chin. but a second pass resolves that. The pop up trimmer is a joke and doesn't need to be on it. I find its easy to clean. You can do longer hair with it but I find that after you need to take it apart to clean it out which is a pain. Battery life is amazing. I don't even know where my charger is... light, takes a beating, travels easily. I have nothing but good things to say about it aside from the price.

Switched from Gillette to electric years ago. Used a Braun foil, then a Panasonic foil, then a norelco 7000 series. All good, each about five years. rotary works better for me. Just replaced with a lower cost norelco 9000 series, and I like it. I shave dry, no powder, gel, or other pre-shave. Do what works best for you, definitely get a waterproof model of whatever electric if you go that route. Easier to clean.
open on a sink counter so it would air dry after I cleaned it under running water. the corrosion occurred around the outer edge of the bottom piece of the 3 blade housing; i'm not looking at it right now, but there may be a chrome detail around that edge. 9400, that same edges are 100% plastic, and it's quite possible all the brand's newer models are too.
