Il y a peu de split mobile, et le tuyaux qui relie les deux (qui n'est pas demontable) et relativement fin pour pouvoir passer par fenêtre ou porte. Ideal pour nous en location.

r/france · Conseil achat climatiseur C'est hors de ton budget, mais vraiment le plus efficace ça reste une clim split (type Midea PortaSplit) Ça évite d'aspirer l'air de l'intérieur pour le réchauffer et le recracher à l'extérieur, ce qui fait rentrer de l'air de l'extérieur dans l'appartement.

Bonjour, Il y a peu de temps, lors de ma recherche d'une clim portable, j'ai été confronté à cette même problématique. Impossible de trouver un modèle double tuyau en France, en tout cas à un prix raisonnable. Au final je me suis rabattu sur un modèle Split (mais toujours portable) avec une unité intérieure et une unité extérieure, donc pas de soucis de pression différentielle. Et le tuyau à faire passer par la fenêtre est bien plus fin. Pour ma part, en cumulant des codes promos et du cashback j'ai acheté le Midea PortaSplit (Commercialisé par Optimea en France) pour la ""maudique"" somme de 800€. A première vue, il fonctionne bien, très silencieux car le compresseur est dehors. mais je n'ai pas de retour à long terme à te donner. En revanche c'est un modèle assez connu chez nos amis les allemands ( consultes r/wohnen ) qui semblent en dire globalement du bien dans leurs reviews.

C'est presque pas audible, et le bruit est constant/monotone donc pas dérangeant, et puis c'est bien masqué par les bruits de rue (ma rue est un peu passante). Aussi, elle possède un mode nuit/silence ou c'est encore plus discret, ils annoncent 39db, à voir en réalité. Mais, avec les volets fermés l'unité extérieure (la plus bruyante des deux) doit se faire plus discrète. Pour ma part c'était chez Castorama, un code promo sur tout le site offrant 10% de réduc + une opération cashback iGraal qui offrait 12.5%. Les deux offres ne sont plus actives. Mais j'magine qu'avec les promos des Frenchdays il est possible de trouver des offres similaires.

Enfin hors des tests fait sur youtube et malheureusement souvent en Allemand. En revanche, et bizarrement, l'unité extérieure est plus bruyante que celle en intérieur, d'où mon postulat. Mais je suis d'accord qu'avec la différence de poids c'est plus probable que le compresseur soit à l'intérieur.

Ça te fait 0,2016×0,23=0,046. On va dire 5 cts d'euros l'heure. Si elle fonctionne 24 h à pleine balle, elle va te coûter 1,13 €/jour.

Sacré investissement mais je l'ai trouvé d'occasion récente (6 mois d'ancienneté) à 600€. il y en a peu sur leboncoin mais si tu as de la chance tu peux en trouver une.

De mon côté je l'ai pas mis sur un bord de fenêtre mais posé sur le balcon donc non visible de l'extérieur. pour ce qui est du bruit c'est inaudible fenêtre fermé. Sinon c'est vraiment silencieux, au niveau max (16 degrés et vent au max) je trouve que c'est plus silencieux que les ventilateur premier prix. donc en gros tu l'entend mais tu peux dormir avec si besoin. Le colis total est très lourd (et assez volumineux) c'est donc mieux d'être deux. Après bon si tu es motivé à monter 3 étages en montant marche par marche, ça devrait le faire tout seul mais tu seras ko arrivé en haut.

r/france · Les climatiseurs mobile double tuyau sont interdits en France ou quoi ? elle est suspecte cette fiche technique, 230W de compresseur+ventilo c'est très peu, et si on croit le rendement donné à 6.1 en mode froid, qui est dans des conditions optimales déjà, elle ne ferait que 230x6.1 W de froid ce qui est bien loin de 3500W. Soit le 3500W est faux/mensonger, ou calculé avec un methode "à eux", soit elle consomme bien plus que 230W.

Je m'en passe parce que j'ai la chance de pouvoir refroidir un minimum la nuit et qu'il fait pas non plus 40 degré où j'habites mais je pense prendre un portasplit parce que ca risque d'être de pire en pire ces prochaines années, j'avais une clim mobile une vrai galère, un bruit de dingue une installation pas super efficace ... Bon après le portasplit je crois c'est 900€ mais tu peux l'utiliser pour te chauffer l'hiver.

Donc il faut se taper le carton en entier. Pour le coffre de la voiture bah ça va dépendre de ta voiture. Si tu as un break ou une famillale ça passe. Une citadine plus compliqué. La palette c'est surtout pour le poids car le colis fait dans les 45Kg. Après pour le ranger c'est plutôt bien fait tu oeux empiler le bloc extérieur sur le bloc intérieur et ce dernier est sur roues. Moi j'ai de quoi le ranger mais j'avais prévu l'espace en amont.

J'habite en région toulousaine sous les toits dans un appartement de 50m2 et le Split rafraîchi tout l'appartement. J'avais un climatiseur mobile avant et en période de canicule c'était très difficile de faire baisser la température en dessous de 28 dans un boucan d'enfer et une facture d'électricité salée. En comparaison j'ai 23/24 degrés constant dans tout l'appartement, un bruit acceptable et un coût électrique beaucoup plus raisonnable. Perso la copro ou les voisins ne m'ont jamais rien dit, je suis sous les toits et en télétravail et impossible de mettre une "vrais" donc pas d'autre solution. Pour le poids j'ai monté le colis seul au troisième sans ascenseur. Bon c'est lourd et volumineux c'est livré sur palette. Après je suis grand et costaud donc ça passe.

Non juste assez pour faire passer la gaine qui est vraiment étroite et j'ai fait un système de calfeutrage avec de la mousse à tuyaux pour un max d'isolation. Je suis de Toulouse, en appartement dernier étage. Donc en plein cagnard l'été. Sans clim en période de canicule je peux monter facilement à 32° à l'intérieur. Avec le spilt j'ai passé un été à 25 et j'ai fait des tests je peux même faire descendre à 22/23. Mais je veux pas avoir un écart trop grand avec l'extérieur donc 25 c'est le bon compromis. Niveau bruit c'est tout à fait gérable sachant que la clim est sans le salon. Mais même quand elle tourne fort j'ai reçu des amis qui n'ont eu aucun souci à dormir à côté sur le canapé, c'est vraiment acceptable niveau sonore.

r/AskFrance · Quelle clim mobile ? L’unité extérieure est assez silencieuse honnêtement j’ai jamais relevé et quand je suis à l’extérieur en contrebas je ne l’entends pas. Pour ce qui est de l’évacuation d’eau, c’est justement au niveau de l’unité extérieure que ça se passe, il y a un petit trou sur lequel on branche (facultatif) un tuyau extensible pour diriger l’évacuation d’eau. Donc non c’est pas tout d’un coup c’est au fil de l’utilisation, je saurais pas estimer la quantité car moi ça file le long du mur depuis mon balcon jusqu’en bas mais ça reste raisonnable (c’est pas un torrent)

Aucune plainte des voisins si ce n’est sur l’eau de condensation parce que j’avais pas connecté le petit tuyau pour guider le condensat.

Bonjour, je suis installateur en chauffage et Clim À 1000€ le système provisoire à accrocher à la fenêtre on ce rapproche vraiment du prix d’un monosplit fourni-posé en dos à dos : entre 1200 et 2200€ TTC selon la marque et la gamme du produit sur une puissance de 3,5kw. On aura une installation qui sera plus propre, plus silencieuse, plus confortable et plus économique. Pour clarifier les caractéristiques de la machine optimea Un SEER de 6 c’est mauvais, on est entre 7 et 9 en général sur des machines de génération actuelle au R32. Le SCOP de 4 est aussi en dessous de la moyenne actuelle Le fait que le compresseur et cie soient dans l’unité intérieur rendent l’ensemble vraiment bruyant : 39DB …en mode silencieux 🤣 (16 à 20Db pour un split standard en général) L’unité extérieur est donnée pour 59Db et sera installée devant une fenêtre entrouverte 😅 Le résultat sera toujours aussi bruyant, avec un rendement franchement moyen et le fait d’avoir une fenêtre entre ouverte pour le passage des liaisons fera encore chuter le rendement global…. En bref ils facturent 80% d’un Monosplit posé par un pro, pour un résultat médiocre. Si vous avez 1000€ pour ça , rajoutez un peu passé sur un vrai monosplit 👍 Si vous êtes locataire, le fait de passer à un chauffage par PAC air/air, peut améliorer le DPE du logement, ce qui peux aider votre propriétaire à investir la dedans 👍

r/AchatPourLaVie · Clim split, fésho bordel ! Franchement aucun problème de "chaleur qui rentre par la fenêtre entrouverte". Un système de calfeutrage avec zips est livré avec cette clim. C'est très efficace. De plus l'année dernière ma clim était déjà en service tout l'été et je n'ai pas eu de mauvaise surprise par la suite, niveau consommation d'électricité 👍. La "jupe" de calfeutrage est adaptable sur une fenêtre carrée de chambre classique par exemple. Mais je pense qu'il y a différents formats pour différentes fenêtres. Je précise que la fenêtre est entrouverte à peine parce que le tuyau d'évacuation est plutôt petit et plat. Ce n'est pas un gros tuyau. Je précise que vous n'aurez pas à "démonter" la jupe de calfeutrage... La mienne est restée installée tout l'hiver ça gêne pas 😊.

r/AskFrance · Vous avez pu installer un climatiseur avec votre copropriété ? Ça dépend aussi où tu achètes. Dans le sud tu as une chance qu'une majorité se dégage pour, en RP ce n'est pas gagné. Si c'est refusé, plutôt qu'une mobile avec un gros tuyau qui fait beaucoup de bruit pour peu de frais car elle crée une dépression qui fait entrer la chaleur, je te conseille un modèle comme midea portasplit. L'évaporateur est externe donc pas de dépression, relié par un tuyau de 4x2 cm et l'ouverture de la fenêtre plus facile à combler. Le niveau sonore intérieur est très raisonnable, un peu plus à l'extérieur. SEER de 6 et SCOP 4 car réversible, ce n'est pas trop mal. Comme elle est amovible tu n'as pas à faire de demande. Par sécurité si tu peux planquer un peu l'évaporateur et soit raisonnable, ne la met pas à fond les nuits d'été que les voisins ne se plaignent pas.

En ce moment il fait trop chaud pour l'éteindre mais je démonterai le capot à l'avant afin de trouver et nettoyer ce filtre ... Petite question: je vois sur les photos du post en allemand qu'il a cassé quelques clips au passage (ou bien il étaient cassés d'origine ?), je ne suis généralement pas doué avec ça, ça c'est déclipsé simplement de ton coté ?

Depuis quelques jours, je tourne en rond avec mes recherches. Et j’en arrive à ça : 1 - Un produit qui semble excellent et dépasser tous les autres sur de nombreux points avec des avis très positifs : **Whynter Inverter Portable Air Conditioner 14,000 BTU ARC-1230WN (12,000 SACC)**. Le seul problème, et pas des moindres, c’est qu’il n’est pas disponible pour le marché européen/français. D’après ce que j’ai compris, les meilleurs produits ne sont pas disponibles sur le marché français/européen en raison d’un manque d’intérêt, au profit des climatiseurs muraux. 2 - Mon second choix s’est porté sur le **MIDEA Climatiseur Mobile Silencieux 12000 BTU avec Évacuation, climatisation Portable Prêt à Poser 3500W**. Sur le papier, il est excellent et fait jeu égal avec le Whynter, mais en pratique, les avis sont partagés. Certains sont excellents, d’autres tombent à une ou deux étoiles, et trop à mon goût. C’est un produit qui peut tomber en panne au bout d’un ou deux ans chez certains utilisateurs. En comparant avec d’autres produits de différentes marques, je me retrouve dans le même cas que pour le climatiseur Midea : des avis beaucoup trop partagés, c’est vraiment aléatoire d’une personne à l’autre. 3 - Pour finir, je tombe sur le **Midea Portasplit**. Il est plus cher c'est vrai, mais les avis sont unanimes et très positifs sur tous les sites que j’ai pu consulter. Il est plus économe, semble très efficace, et fait moins de bruit en intérieur, tous les avantages d’un monobloc.

De ce que je comprends: Les moins cher sont avec un seul tuyau et vont envoyer dehors l'air chaud par ce tuyau. Problème: ça crée une dépression dans la pièce et l'air doit rentrer d'autre part donc tu te retrouve avec un bon volume d'air chaud de l'extérieur qui rentre. Donc très inefficace. Il existe des modèles avec deux tuyau pour éviter ce problème (l'air utilisé est pompé dehors puis rejeté plus chaud dehors). Mais y a pas beaucoup de ces modèles de dispos en France et c'est plus cher. Et en dernier t'as les clim portables split, qui ont l'air quasi aussi efficace que des clims normales ou une bonne partie du système est dehors (donc moins de bruit à l'intérieur aussi). Mais c'est plus cher. J'ai vu des modèles pour caravanes à 600-700 qui semblent assez bien pour les petites surfaces. Sinon y a la portasplit à 1000 balles qui a l'air très bien noté partout.

r/france · Besoin d'aide pour choisir une climatisation mobile Pour l' appareil en soi, je choisirais en fonction de deux critères: l' efficacité (COP ou SCOP, également voir la fameuse étiquette énergétique européenne) et le prix. La marque n' importe peu, car la plupart des climatiseurs sont fabriqués par Gree ou Midea. Pour l' évacuation d' air chaud, c' est le gros point noir des climatiseurs mobiles, car ils aspirent de l' air dans la pièce ou ils se trouvent, pour refroidir le condenseur et finalement sortir cet air par le tuyau qui va vers l' extérieur. Cela crée une dépressurisation dans l' appartement qui s' égalisera par un appel d' air qui viendra forcément de quelque part: fenêtre pas très étanche, grille de porte etc., mais au final ce sera de l' air chaud venant de dehors. L' aspiration d' air chaud de l' extérieur va sérieusement nuire a l' efficacité du climatiseur. Pour remédier à ce problème, soi chercher directement un climatiseur avec deux tuyaux, ou modifier ton climatiseur pour ajouter un deuxième tuyau. Dans ce cas de figure, le "coté chaud" de ton climatiseur aspirerai de l' air extérieur pour refroidir son condenseur et rejeter cet air directement a nouveau vers l' extérieur, sans utiliser de l' air venant de l' intérieur. Si tu as la possibilité, par contre c' est hors budget, essaie de voir si le système Midea Porta-Split serait envisageable. La, seulement le gaz frigorifique circule dans les tuyaux, donc pas de problème de dépressurisation.

Non, c'est juste leur traduction française qui est faite avec les pieds, c'est une alim 230V/50Hz pour le réseau européen la puissance électrique n'est pas précisée dans les autres langues non plus, mais les 12000 Btu/h de puissance frigorifique correspondent bien à 3500 W (de puissance frigorifique, toujours) avec le coefficient SEER de 6.1 ça fait en gros 600 W au compteur (quand ça doit effectivement refroidir. C'est régulé quand même, donc si elle peut atteindre et garder sa consigne ça baisse la conso)

Si vous avez les moyens et pas la possibilité d’avoir une installation fixe, il existe la clim Midea Porta Split avec une longueur de tuyau fixe mais un vrai module extracteur comme sur une climatisation fixe. J’en ai acheté une la semaine dernière et n’y connaissant rien elle était prête en 5 minutes et m’a vite convaincue. J’avais un doute sur la capacité à refroidir mon appart de 90m2 et très honnêtement ça fait une belle différence avec 34 degrés à l’extérieur. Et la Clim dans le salon peut même tourner la nuit en mode silence et on garde tout de même la fraîcheur dans la chambre à plus de 10 mètres du module intérieur. J’étais honnêtement un peu sceptique et freiné par le prix mais je dois avouer que je suis content d’avoir franchi le cap et de ne plus suer en télétravail.

r/AirConditioners · Midea Portasplit 12000 BTU Mobile Air Conditioner its a modern r32 inverter AC, yes it can sip power if you dont ask too much of it, it'll be quieter than any portable and any window ac other than the U and ge profile, but not as quiet as a real mini split, the compressor is on the indoor unit I think, no way to drop below 40db, heck it might be louder than the fancy window units in some scenarios, but probably fine, if you want to cover a big area, ideally you will want to have ceiling fans, no way around that

r/AirConditioners · Midea Portasplit 12000 BTU Mobile Air Conditioner I bought this ac second hand two month ago (still under warranty) it's working very well , you just need to properly isolate the tube that connect the external unit to the Internal unit, I had two two problems First you need to be carefully at how the large tube is positioned, the cables and wires move freely inside the tube so you may end up twisted or entengled and the ac will struggle to pump condensation water to the external unit Second problem I had is error eh0b (people confuse it with eh06) and the ac stops working, apparently the issue is about the front contrôle panel having wiring issues, I opened the ac and took a look at the front panel there was a connectic that was not sitting properly and there was some residue on the board (I am a heavy smoker but that looked more like flux than smoke residue) I cleaned it with isopropylique alcohol, since then the ac ha been working 24/7 for 3 weeks with no issue

However the problems with mould and so on would be still there - and I would not put loads of hours on the Portasplit that way - it doesn't seem to be made in a quality to happily run thousands of hours per year and hold up many years. A dehumidifier would make less noise and likely per watt be a little bit more efficient - as the Portasplit has no humidity sensor - so the fan speed is not matched to the temperature reducing the effectiveness. Also a high quality de-humidifier (e.g. a Meaco) is less noisy. So yeah as last resort - why not. Everyday - surely not. Rather just heat and leave outdoor unit outside, think about motorizing your windows and automate them with e.g. home assistant and use sensor inside/outside for control. Best bet houwever to de humidify in winter is a ventilation system with heat exchanger made for de humidifing. There are some that push little volume but will only cost 300€ or so and still manage 5l or water per day if the difference outside/inside is big enough and rarely use energy (as heat exchange works passively at maybe 80% efficiency). And yeah there are certainly use cases for such devices also in winter for bathroom, sleeping room overnight, or humid basement. At 800-1000€ you can get quite big systems that should manage 20-30l of water per day in winter and still only use 25-30w watts. You can then use the Portasplit for heating normally in the same room. Such systems plus portasplit will be way more efficient and less noisy then big scale de humidifiers that gobble electricity.

But for example what about the water pump/water reservoir to pump away. After it has pumped. Switch it off and turn it sideways - is there also a lot of water left standing inside like in the Portasplit causing bacteria and mushrooms to blossom? On the outdoor unit - is the motor the 69-10-1 or did they go with the 40-8-1 to compensate for the 3 blade fan vs 4 blade? Will be interesting to know if they evolved on the Portasplit or just kept on repeating the same mistakes.

It's easily possible to have very quiet compressors (check out any Daikin Perfera or Mitsubishi MSZ/MUZ outdoor unit, also top of the line Toshiba, LG, Panasonic - you won't here the compressor less feel any vibrations even if they run close to full power - it's only the big big vent spinning relatively slowly vs the helicopter taking off portable splits)

The real split AC unit I'm using right now can cool my room from 30 degrees to 20 degrees no problem. All are 3500W. And this is not considering the extra energy cost, needing to open your window and mosquitoes getting in etc...

IMO the biggest advantage of the PortaSplit are the mounting options for the outside unit. I'm using mine with the universal bracket mounted to a Velux roof window, I'm not aware of any other split AC that's designed for that specific use case. There's a couple of speeds the fan can run at, depending on load and outside temperature. There's an "outside silent" mode that forces the fan to run at the lowest speed, but you won't get maximum cooling with that of course. In silent mode you cant hear it sitting on his balcony. On a middle-range mode you definitely can hear it but its not loud or annoying in any way, just a woosh air noise more or less. On full blast its annoying if you sit on his balcony. Then again for just cooling my living room the silent mode 20% is just enough, this is with a 2025 model and not with the update outdoor silent mode.

Air was noticeably hotter in rooms where the unit wasn't present. I'd say 38C outside, 23C in living room where the unit was running, and 30-32 in the two other rooms. Placed thermometers around so I'm pretty confident about numbers. My apartment insulation isn't great though. I'd say this product isn't fit to cool down more than one room during heatwaves. It might work for a couple of room while the external temps aren't extremes, using auxiliary equipment to move air around and good home insulation.

The external unit sits on my large balcony so I cannot comment on the various mounting brackets and accessories. Brought it 10 days ago, so I cannot comment on durability either. Paid 1K euros for it. Currently sold-out at most places but Amazon, maybe try Amazon France? I know I can buy some stuff from Amazon UK even though taxes makes it generally more expensive. This setup is only for one room though, you can't use it for a whole flat or several rooms. Just move it from your living room during the day and to your bedchamber for the night. Would recommend.

Much more efficient than my previous hose based portable as no air is sucked back in to replace expelled air. It has been able to cool my entire two bedroom flat by using a couple of fans to circulate the air. Even when it was 34 degrees the other day it was only 23 in my flat with the unit running continuously. There is a universal bracket you can buy for the outdoor unit which I think is hard to get in the UK but Heiz24 in Germany sell it and it came fairly quickly. This allowed me to hang the unit out my window The compressor is in the indoor unit but It’s almost silent. The acoustic insulation around it is very well thought through. I usually run it at 10% fan speed at night and it’s very quiet

One thing worth keeping in your back pocket for the building work phase: BUS on A2W is £7,500, so it pays to design the wet-system routing with that grant in mind rather than retrofitting later. Sealing approach sounds fine, foil under silicone is the standard trick.

But the 32.5 kg indoor vs 9.9 kg outdoor weight split does back what you're describing, since you can't fit a 3.5 kW rotary plus condenser coil plus fan in 9.9 kg of casing. If the compressor is indoors that would also help explain why real-world SCOP often comes in lower than the on-paper number.
r/ukheatpumps · Any experience of Midea PortaSplit? Two things worth a sanity check before going PortaSplit. The £2,500 BUS grant on air-to-air is the bigger one. A small MCS-certified wall-mount split (Mitsubishi M-Series, Panasonic Etherea, Daikin Emura, or Midea's own fixed-split range, which has a lot of models on the MCS list) typically lands £2,500-£4,500 fully installed, so net cost after the grant is roughly £0-£2,000. Often cheaper than the PortaSplit at retail. Two catches. BUS only pays out with an MCS-registered installer doing the work, so the DIY route locks you out. And the PortaSplit itself isn't on the MCS list, which makes sense. The whole portable + window-kit + self-install category sits outside how MCS-compliant installs are defined. The other thing is planning. The constraint that often nudges people to portable units mostly went away in May 2025. The PDR changes scrapped the 1m boundary rule, raised the outdoor-unit size cap to 1.5 m³, and brought A2A (including cooling) into permitted development. Properties that couldn't fit a wall-mount split a year ago often can now, without needing planning. PortaSplit itself is fine for what it is. Compressor sits in the outdoor unit (9.9 kg, hangs out the window), refrigerant pre-charged in the fixed 2m hose, no F-gas work. Midea quote SCOP 4.0 which on paper matches a fixed split, though real-world performance through the window-kit seal usually comes in lower. It'll heat one room comfortably. If you're renting and can't drill, or the wall/window situation genuinely rules out a fixed install, it's a sensible fallback. Otherwise the grant maths on a proper fixed split is hard to ignore.

I get the front lid of and glued a damping mat onto the inside and a frabric tape around the air inlet filter at the backside. Now it is much more quiet. In heating mode I've a squeaking noise at the beginning, but that fades away after 2-3 minutes and does not come back as long as it's switched on. Sounds like the compressor needs to build-up pressure in the morning.

I already checked the video and his window frame is flat on the inside so he can rest the bracket perfectly fine on it. My window has that "bump", almost like a slope actually. So I'm a bit worried about the little rubber underneath the bracket not resting against the window frame and causing resonation, because it might hover above it, not rest on it. I haven't bought the ac itself and the bracket btw. Temperatures are okay now in the Netherlands and i hope it will stay that way till the end of summer. And it's not something you buy just because, since it's a really expensive product, especially here in the Netherlands. But this is already some research for when I might have to buy it in the future.

r/wohnen · Midea Portasplit gibt nicht "vollgas" Not “little dumb” but completely dumb, my previous AC for hundred bucks from lidl was giving way better auto regulation. Especially if portasplit is in corner or just slightly occluded to form a temperature “bubble” it becomes almost unusable due to internal thermostat claiming 8 or more(!) degrees more than actual room temperature. Anyway, I didn’t find any details about how often the remote transmits the temperature and there also seems to be no confirmation on device or app that this mode is working:( (except of icon of person on remote but that is no confirmation that remote can even reach the unit via IR). Something like using my own SmartHome thermostat instead to regulate portasplit one can only dream about then I’m afraid.

r/AirConditioners · Midea Portasplit 12000 BTU Mobile Air Conditioner Wrong. I have it and thought it is a great option if setting up 'normal' heat pump is not allowed it still feels like a way around. The inside unit has compressor, fan, electronics and pump to pump the condensation water outside. It is significantly louder than regular AC unit but do a good job at cooling and maintaining set temperature on around 35-40m2 so as described by the producer. It has silent mode for night when it is quite silent but also effect is significantly reduced at that time. At high efficiency it can be loud af, buzz and vibrate a lot but it manage to cool the room down from 34°C to 21 and keep the temp.

Upsides: Delivery was great, the unit was super easy to setup (though I have balcony so didn’t have to faff around with the mount) and it’s more than powerful enough to cool my whole lounge which is open plan and pretty large, very pleased I took the plunge. Downsides: I have lived in places with a proper fixed split system before and by comparison the Portasplit is much louder indoors, but it’s liveable and significantly better than standard portables I have heard before. From what you said it sounds like Joybuy may be out too now - but fingers crossed not and good luck hunting!

r/AirConditioners · Midea Portasplit 12000 BTU Mobile Air Conditioner I tried to get one in France, but could not. Anyway, the reason why it blows other mobile units out of the water is physical: monobloc need to "replace" the air they expel outside: First, the appartment get depressurized (too much air expelled, not enough enters), which sucks the air from the outside wherever possible (vents, around the doors, OR around your AC pipe). So you are basically exhausting the air you just cooled down to replace it with hot air, which destroys the efficiency, and makes the situation of the other rooms in the appartment worse. It is because you MUST have 2 air circuits: one cool down the frigorific fluid (the hot air that is exhausted), and the other one is cooled down by the frigorific fluid and distributed to the room. The issue with mono bloc simple pipe mobile AC is that both air circuits are drawn from the room: There are only 2 ways around it: \- Have the "refrigerant cooling part" outside, like with fixed splits, OR the porta split \- Have two hoses: one to take air from outside, AND another to exhaust it, hotter. This is covered by another midea unit: the midea duo, BUT it is only available in the US, NOT in Europe (and it is in 115V, not 220). There are also fixed versions of this, like the optimea. All they need are 2 holes pierced through your wall. So in Europe, the portasplit is the only mobile unit that is not terribly inefficient. You can get close to a dual hose efficiency by DIY the attachment of the second hose on the bottom air inlet, BUT it is not always sufficient (when both air intakes are not separated from each other, it becomes worse).

I have read quite a few post now people saying a similar thing to you about the Midea Portaspilt being a good idea if you are not able to install a permanent AC. Even though I would be able to install a permanent AC, I still prefer this Midea if I could get my hands on one. Now it would be my ever first AC unit, so many there’re some clear obvious benefits of having a permanent AC that I haven’t considered, in terms of actual performance or well as space requirements without the need of windows or doors being open so the hose pipe can go outside. But with a permanent AC, you would literally have no choice I guess but to have one installed in every room in your property which you wanted to be cooled. The benefits again is that you don’t have to store anything away when not in use. That maybe one of the main benefits to having a permanent ac if you only would be using it 4-12 weeks for the year. Beyond what I have mentioned, are there other obvious benefits to having a permanent AC rather than say the Midea portasplit in your opinion? I have just read somewhere else that the app for the Midea Portasplit that seem to be one of the best features when listening to some of these YouTubers talking about this machine, that you actually have to pay £39.99 equivalent a year after your initial 3 day trial period has expired, is this true? If so, do you personally think it’s worth the subscription or is it more gimmicky than a real world requirement?

According to the SmartHome app, in 92 hours of use it’s used 21.59 kWh. And I don’t think this app (that was recommended in Midea the instruction booklet) has any subscription model so should hopefully remain free

Cut 2 identical sheets of plywood wit holes/cutaways for the hose(s), glue wooden blocks inside the outed piece so it does not move around. Make a sandwich held together by bolts. Tighten the bolts from the inside. Use velcro soft side so it does not damage the E ixting outer window frame. Simple, cheap, insulating, more secure than a window, quick to remove.. Works with Portasplit if you cut a section out of the bottom or side for the hose instead of a hole.

I rang up midea customer support who said that they don't sell them separately, and when i inquired as to what happens if an EU customer's window bracket breaks they claim that the whole unit is replaced for them as they don't sell spares :(

Not only it's much more efficient, it's also much quieter, has a built-in inverter which allows you to modulate the power. The app is pretty good, it also has a built-in pump for condensate, and a self cleaning mode. I would never buy anything else than the portasplit. It can cool down my room to 21°C with relatively low power (<400W) while a normal mobile unit was not able to go below 25°C while using 1000W. It has some quiet outdoor mode, eco mode and turbo mode. I can sleep with the quiet mode. Amazing unit!

I will do that if I have to but the window bracket that comes with it in the EU is literally perfect what I need, no drill and can move it between rooms. I'll have to get 2 if I have to drill.

The bedroom is another story, after may be 3 hours it gets down quite significantly to the point that I do feel cold. I do agree with another poster that the temp reported by the sensor is off by a couple of degrees from the actual temp but this is normal. It is physically impossible for it to sense the temp elsewhere in the room. Overall, I been quite surprised at how well it works, and how it looks relatively nice compared to everything else out there. It does exactly what it is supposed to do extremely well. Even has WiFi and Bluetooth and a relatively decent app.

It works extremely well and it is exactly was an idea I had years ago, basically have a mobile split where you can freely move the outdoor and indoor units. Both units together are quite heavy when stacked but manageable. Imo ideal if you have balcony. Even with door not fully shut, it brings down the temp inside down a good 5 degrees within two hours. If I have one complaint it is probably the hose being very stiff and inflexible but i can understand why since the hose has both the cooling fluid and the draining. Imo it is THE second best alternative after a regular split. In a living room, 32m2 with open kitchen, it kept it at steady 27 degrees (setting was 23), were without it was 31. Outside temp 39.

Inverter design alone is worth the premium over the other two. I have 11500 whilst it’s one of the quieter one but by no means quiet. TV volume needs to be increased at least.

Even with multiple rooms tho its easier and cheaper to buy a bigger portable AC and a few fans to move air around than buy 2 marginally smaller ones. Especially when room and/or funds are at a premium. And most people have some fans anyways so they can do double duty. Like I get it, technically getting 2 of them is better. But if we go that route, just say technically a minisplit with a indoor unit in every room is even better.

My advice came from the assumption that you’d want to cool multiple rooms with it. In that case having two units is better. If it’s one gigantic room I agree a larger one is better.

The compressor is wrapped in composite acoustic and thermal insulation and the liquid refrigerant lines carry the bulk of that thermal energy to the outdoor unit to be exhausted. The bigger benefit is not exhausting cold air from the room like a portable would do, and having the entire hot side indoors.

The Porta-split is sort of appealing and will likely give you better cooling than the others as it's not creating negative pressure indoors. It's much better than a single hose portable, and very quiet. It is quieter than the desk fan. The hose is still a little bulky, and the window bracket wouldn't grab my UK windows. Also, the internal unit is quite big. I leave this on 24/7 for my parents as the heat is a bit dangerous for them.

I live in a rental apartment where I'm not allowed to drill holes or install a traditional split system, so finding a good cooling solution wasn't easy. I only ended up making one bad purchase before finally finding the PortaSplit. Every conventional portable AC I looked at or experienced was either far too noisy or simply didn't cool well enough. The PortaSplit is on a completely different level. It cools my 25 m² room from 29°C (84°F) to 23°C (73°F) in about 30 minutes. What impressed me the most is how quiet it is. Compared to traditional portable air conditioners, the noise is barely noticeable. It has completely changed the way I experience hot summer days. Another huge advantage is its A++ energy efficiency rating. It delivers excellent cooling performance while remaining remarkably energy-efficient, which is a big plus during long, hot summers. I was lucky enough to buy it from Hornbach Netherlands for €789 before the heatwave started. Just two weeks later, it was sold out everywhere. Since then, I've seen it selling for €1,000 or even more whenever it's available. This is easily one of the best purchases I've ever made. It was even voted Product of the Year 2024 in Germany. And honestly, if the Germans rate an air conditioner that highly, I tend to trust their judgment — even though it's actually a Chinese product. I've promised myself that I'll never suffer through another scorching summer in my room again. I'm genuinely happy with this purchase, and I highly recommend it to anyone living in a rental who can't install a permanent split AC. Every cent was worth it.

r/AirConditioners · Meaco cirro 14k btu portable air con Contacted Meaco about the fins, demanded a refund. After some pissing about I got my money back. Now I don't know what to do. As others have found out, you really need a two hose design. The problem is they can't cool down a room past a point. For example mine won't go lower than 24 on full blast for hours. When it was 33/34c outside it wouldn't go down past 27c at full blast for hours. So it's still uncomfortable. Also, because it creates negative pressure in the room, the minute you turn the thing off the warm air from outside and the rest of your home fills the room really quickly. Like, 5 minutes with it off and the temp of the room quickly jumps back up a few degrees and becomes hot again. The problem is nobody sells the two hose design here. So now I'm thinking about getting the 16k btu version and modding it, or just keep searching every day in the hope a decent two hose ac becomes available. I've seen midea do a mini split thing but it's only 12k btu and based on my Meaco 12k btu doesn't seem good enough. It's double the price so I need to know it's more efficient design will make it outperform the meaco. I dunno. It's baffling why companies refuse to sell 2 hose portable ac units in the UK market.

Was very impressed with the lower noise level compared to a cheap non-split mobile AC I had tried before. And the cooling was nice. Yesterday I started using the Midea again, first time since August last year. Now I notice an annoying vibration coming from the machine that I didn't notice last summer. It feels like a washer on the spin cycle. Maybe it was always like this, and it is just working harder because of higher temperatures currently.

A basic portable ac is trying to make lets say 600 m³/h of cold air but it needs to move 3x that air to cool off the machine to do it. Also the box is trying to be small so you get highly disturbed air/loud. This is using a liquid for heat transportation. Which is already much quieter but also you need to move only a tiny volume of liquid to transfer the same heat.

r/AirConditioners · Midea Portasplit 12000 BTU Mobile Air Conditioner I paid 699e for this, have been using it for about 1 month now. Much quieter than my old Midea MPPT dualhose AC. I have installed it on my balcony, only "problem" i can say for now is that it produces quite much water when its hot and i have no option to connect the drain hose anywhere else than in a bucket wich has to be emptied everyday. In my old apartment i had a tower blower to move the cold air to bedroom but now that i moved its in the same room where i sleep. Planning to install it tomorrow so i have not yet any experience how you can sleep in the same room without earplugs.

r/AirConditioners · Midea Portasplit 12000 BTU Mobile Air Conditioner The issue with any "room" air conditioner, it doesn't matter if it is a mini split or a window unit or a portable unit, is that the natural air movement between rooms is not enough to really cool any area outside of the room the unit is in. Yeah, there is a little cooling but it's usually barely noticeable. You need to have some way to move the air out of the cooler room to the other rooms. Fans for example. But 12k BTU can cool a large space but I would not say it can do multiple rooms.

Two metal pieces, one goes in front of the board one goes behind it, screw together from top and bottom so it clamps and there you go, perfect mounting bracket for an AC. Just ensure the wooden board itself is attached well enough. That or you can also make a sort of stand that rests on the concrete window frame, and attaches to the board as a lateral support and then screw your AC into that stand. Honestly just a bit of wood from the store roughly screwed together with L brackets would do the job. I always drain off the excess condensate after every single use seems to be okay so far but I have only had it a couple of weeks. there is a design flaw where if you turn it off not all of the condensate gets pumped out so I think it gets gunky really quickly if not emptied promptly.

r/ukheatpumps · Midea Portasplit UK Appliances Direct and Aircon direct are the same business, they used to have the 12,000 BTU. version available but it's been sold out for weeks. The 8,000 is now £829. I bought the 12,000 from Aircare Appliances and its the UK version, came from their 'supplier' - was delivered in 3 days. It came with the wall bracket, not the window bracket. I'm not sure if the UK version is better, but I can confirm the unit I bought works great. Personally if your considering the Prem-I-Air for around £900+, id just buy the Midea.

r/MideaPortaSplit · Midea PortaSplit – loud noise after a while? Is this normal or a faulty unit? People, No worries here! This is the normal operation of the Portasplit. This device is using INVERTER technology. This doesnt mean it is reversible heat-cold, but it refers to the technology driving the compressor. The compressor is speed controled with an inverter. So the compressor goes generally fast when we start the device because there is some degrees to compensate. After a while the compressor speed goes down and most of time it stays slow, just compensing. Off course, time to time, the temperature changes, and the Portasplit set its compressor faster for few seconds then calm down (120-250w@230v). At this moment of the video, the compressor is almost at full speed (1200-1300w@230v) , and yes, some plastic casing can vibrate or rattle at some frequencies. My unit does the same!. I found also that it is a bit noisier in heat mode, than in cool or dry mode. Overall, i'm happy with this unit. (let's talk about the condensate pump when summer arrives.....)

r/wohnen · Midea PortaSplit Kondenswasser/Ablauf Here In Spain close to the sea, my unit usually generate sometimes up to 1 liter per hour, i.e. 31 outside, 26inside, humidity 50-65% average. The lower temperature you set, the more water you have. I drain the water in 6liters mineral water bottles. I disconnected the drain tube from the outside unit, just remove the smaller back cover on the inside unit and you can connect the drain pump output (silicon tube) to the container of your choice. Otherwise, a other solution is to elevate the internal unit and fit below abother container through the drainpipe

r/wohnen · Midea Portasplit gibt nicht "vollgas" Yes, unfortunately there aren’t any indicators in the app, that the remote is working. But the shown Indoor temperature in the app will be replaced with the remote temperature when this mode is activated. That’s one way to guess out it works. I tried it out a few times, the temperature change on the remote takes a maximum of ~10 seconds to be shown in the app. When iSense is activated you see the actual temperature on the remote display. Place it in the airstream and open the app and you should see the temperature changes quickly. What I do to try out if the remote signal reaches the PS is pushing the „LED“ Button a few times when the remote is in place - you should see immediately the leds turn of and on and hear the beep tone.

Le Midea PortaSplit refroidit-il plusieurs pièces ?
Les retours Reddit sont très positifs pour une pièce, y compris lors de fortes chaleurs. Les résultats deviennent en revanche irréguliers dans plusieurs pièces et dépendent beaucoup de l'agencement, de l'isolation et de ventilateurs auxiliaires.
Est-il assez silencieux pour dormir ?
De nombreux utilisateurs Reddit dorment avec le mode silencieux et le jugent bien moins bruyant qu'un monobloc classique. À pleine puissance, certains signalent toutefois un bourdonnement, des vibrations ou un niveau sonore sensiblement supérieur à celui d'un split fixe.
L'installation est-elle facile ?
Avec un balcon ou une fenêtre compatible, les utilisateurs Reddit décrivent souvent une mise en place rapide, facilitée par la liaison étroite et le calfeutrage fourni. Certaines fenêtres nécessitent néanmoins un support différent ou une adaptation, et les deux unités ne peuvent pas être séparées.
Son prix élevé est-il justifié ?
Le consensus Reddit juge souvent le surcoût acceptable face aux monoblocs grâce au refroidissement et à l'efficacité énergétique. Plusieurs utilisateurs estiment néanmoins qu'à son tarif le plus élevé, un split fixe mérite d'être comparé lorsqu'une installation permanente est possible.
Je déconseille une clim monobloc (j'ai une Gree 12000 BTU, 250€) à cause de la mise en pression négative du logement. Les splits pour caravane je connais pas. J'ai acheté une Midea Portasplit 12000 BTU. C'est un bon concept. Pas de pression négative, calfeutrage minimaliste. Kit fenêtre fourni, kit velux en option. J'estime le coût en électricité à 10€ à l'année (20 jours de canicule, 10h de climatisation intermittente, 0,3 kWh de conso en moyenne, 0,17€ du kWh). J'ai installé ça dans une pièce de 38m2 / 98m3. Testé il y a quelques semaines, passage de 22 à 19° avec 28° dehors. Objectif cet été 24° au lieu de 27-28 quand il fait 38-40 dehors (Gironde). Mais c'est un budget à l'achat (payée 750€, hors promo 1000€).
Un monobloc aspire l'air en deux endroits : - partie haute (froide) : aspire de l'air qui traverse un évaporateur qui ressort froid dans ta pièce - partie basse (chaude) : aspire de l'air qui traverse le condenseur et ressort brûlant. Cet air est évacué par le gros tuyau de 15cms de diamètre que tu doit faire sortir de ton logement (fenêtre, porte) avec un kit de calfeutrage. Bref, le monobloc aspire de l'air de ta pièce et le recrache à l'extérieur du logement. Ça crée une aspiration qui peut être très forte selon la puissance du monobloc et la taille de la pièce (porte qui s'ouvre, ou difficile à fermer). Dans le pire des cas tu aspires l'air extérieur caniculaire par les oueis de ventilations et les interstices. Dans le moins pire t'aspires l'air des autres pièces qui elles-mêmes vont se remplir d'air extérieur. Pour couronner le tout, tu aspires et expulses à l'extérieur de l'air que tu viens juste de refroidir en bouffant de l'électricité. Bref système très con et pas de problème de ce genre avec le Midea.
Il fait du bruit parce que le compresseur est dans l'unité intérieure, mais c'est un inverter (il ajuste sa puissance et son régime de fonctionnement en fonction des besoins). Donc concrètement il démarre, il fait le bruit d'un (très) gros frigo, ça consomme 500-600W, puis il diminue de régime (en moins de 10 mins) et il devient relativement silencieux (il ronrone doucement). La puissance consommée est alors assez faible (120-130W). La nuit c'est encore plus marqué car les températures extérieures sont plus basses, ça force moins, il va se caler au ralenti voire s'arrêter par intermittence si tu choisis une consigne raisonnable (24°). Perso j'ai une porte fenêtre coulissante. Je n'ai pas utilisé le kit de calfeutrage fourni (qui est pour une fenêtre à battant). J'ai découpé une plaque de polystyrène extrudé au cutter (moins de 10€ chez Leroy Merlin) et j'ai ajouté un joint mousse au niveau de la fenêtre (à cause du décalage entre les joints d'origine). Il vaut mieux éviter l'exposition plein soleil du bloc externe, même si ça n'empêche pas son fonctionnement. On a un store au-dessus (terrasse) mais on envisage un parasol au cas où (soleil qui tourne). Autre idée : panneau photovoltaique plug n play sur support pour faire de l'ombre. Tu peux le mettre sur un balcon. Nous c'est une terrasse avec porte fenêtre. Prévoir que le condensat est rejeté sous l'unité externe donc tu vas avoir un écoulement (j'ai rien remarqué pendant mes 3h de tests). L'unité extérieure est très légère (moins de 10 kgs). Elle se déplace facilement. L'unité intérieure est lourde mais montée sur roulettes. Ça n'est problématique que pour monter l'appareil à un étage. La liaison entre les deux unités est assez rigide, c'est le seul bémol.
Il y a un kit fenêtre à zip fourni. Je ne l'ai pas testé ayant une porte fenêtre coulissante. De mémoire il est très long donc je pense qu'il est adapté à une porte fenêtre battante, mais c'est à confirmer. Dans le pire des cas il y a des kits en vente par exemple sur amazon ou aliexpress. C'est comme les pieds tv, quand ça ne convient pas à sa propre config, il ne faut pas hésiter à acheter un produit tiers compatible. Chez moi la Midea est installée dans un salon + salle à manger en deux parties. Le salon est un entresol, et la salle à manger est au niveau du sol, environ 1m50 plus bas, avec un escalier et une large ouverture dans le mur (c'est le résultat d'un agrandissement de la maison d'origine). C'est un peu scabreux architecturalement. La surface totale c'est 38m2 pour 98m3. On est aux limites de la clim (40-45m2 et 100m3 d'après le fabriquant). Aucun problème pour rafraichir la pièce, y compris la partie salon où l'on passe le plus de temps, alors que la clim est positionnée plus bas dans la partie salle à manger. 43° dehors ces derniers jours, 25-26° dans le salon (je module la consigne entre 25° et 27° en fonction de la consommation relevée pour éviter que ça force trop). Avec des températures très chaudes mais banales (35°) aucun problème pour faire descendre la température plus bas. Pour la conso, compter 450-500 Wh (8 cts de l'heure) en conditions extrêmes (43° dehors). Ça descend jusqu'à 120-130 Wh (2-3 cts de l'heure) en conditions plus banales. En fin de soirée, quand la température extérieure descend autour de 30° voire moins, c'est possible de baisser encore la consigne (24°-23°) sans surconsommer.
