  I have had the x8 for 7 months now, run it twice daily (once for just hoovering and later for hoover & mop) and I love it. It does a much better job than I ever did. It does take a fair bit of main ting though.

  Do you have any issues with a damp smell when the mop is drying? I have a preety clean flat and no dogs etc., but the smell is always there, even after major maintenance. I even changed the mop and the clean water tank in the robot(smelled like death). I always try to clean the part where the mop is cleaning itself but yeah, nothing really helps. The robot does the job but like you said, a lot of maintenance. Next one won’t be ecovacs for sure, but right now i have to get my 1200eur back somehow(by the robot, cleaning instead of me😅)

  I'm not sure about the reliability of Ecovacs products, but to be fair, that doesn't mean they won't be good. The only long term products we have experience with is Roborock. I've heard of the leaking dock issue, but we didn't experience it with our unit. The X8 would probably be a good choice for you, but just keep in mind that it doesn't have outstanding obstacle avoidance, so you'll need to make sure there's no pet waste or loose objects before running it. The X50 was excellent at obstacle avoidance, I just had a poor experience with it when borrowing it from work as it would leave a lot of fine debris behind and chunks of dust on my floor. It's possible we got a bad unit thought. The X8 either beat or matched the X50 in pickup performance, with the X8 excelling at hard floor pickup. They were both just decent for carpet, and mid for hair on carpet. For mopping, the X8 is really amazing, left my floor at home shinning every time. Hope this helps!

  Remove the ecovacs from your list. The app is horrific and is worse at mopping and vacuuming compared to the MOVA Z50 Ultra (worldwide launch April 10th) and the Narwal Flow.

  Already having the Eufy L60 SES for our Upstairs, carpet only area, I was looking into buying something for our downstairs and looking at the S1 Omni Pro due to it's mopping and also as we were already in the ecosystem, but it's lacklustre carpet cleaning and it's inability to do vac or mop only were a big no for me, being that half my house is carpet while the other half are tiles (And having 3 cats + 1 dog), so we opted for the X8 Pro Omni instead and I have been VERY happy with it. Our floors are always clean and the extendable mop means the corners and our skirting is cleaned too. I believe we have made the right choice. In saying that, if somebody had all hardwood floors and no carpet, I would likely recommend the Eufy over the Ecovacs as the carpet features aren't an issue in those households.

  Just an fyi it want done if you viewed the photo, it is suppose to do carpets first so that it didn't go over carpets with a wet mop. It will eventually do the job captured area. It had gotten better about not running in a 2x2 ft state on the sealed cement floor but now that issue simply transferred to my carpets. Thankfully I try to vacuum and wash my carpets weekly because the dog hangs out on them a lot.

  The eco vacs is taking more time to maintain, reset, remap than it would to vacuum and mop by myself. It’s rendered itself useless since about a month because it keeps dropping the map. I wish I would have known this before hand!

  Same here. Mine has a small leak near the rubber of the clean water tank and the manufacturer does not take responsibility for it. Not only that, I can't find a substitute for this rubber. I should have gone with the true and tested roborock... I only bought this cuz the roller mop but its not worth it at all.

  The extending side brush and roller mop are really a big help. The side brush gets into a lot of those hard to reach corners, and the roller brush makes cleaning way faster. So I'll say ecovacs.

  From the videos I've seen the ecovacs x8 is pretty tall, so even with the mop extending it doesnt necessarily get under the baseboards if theres an overhang due to cabinets or appliances (can see that in this video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vkBefjf8ty0 ) I'm going to wait for the s2 or the narwhal flow. In a similar boat to you, but I currently don't own a robo vac. Patiently waiting for something thats a tad better than the current offerings.
