After my year of having the X1 Omni, I will never buy another Ecovac product again. The troubles you are having are similar if not exactly the same issues I have with the X1.

It all depends on your house. All the issues reported here are basically super minor on my end. I've had the x1omni for a year and it works like a charm on my 90m2 apartment (I don't know how much that is in sqft sorry). My issues are with perfectly mapping the areas because they go a bit beyond other rooms and I can't fix that with their software which I can say could be really improved (not bad on my case but I'd give it a 3.5 stars at most) and the problem returning to the station which I fixed by moving it a bit forward to where it was. Overall I'd give it a 4 out of 5 but I'd buy it in Amazon, not on their store.

I have the X1 omni and I really love it however support for these things SUCK. The software has a million bugs and their answer is kind of like deal with it -_-. The robot, I totally recommend. About the robot not going to the station, I suspect it's something with their latest software update because mine did too. What fixed it on my end is moving the station a bit forward. I moved it like half a centimeter to the front and boom, problem solved. Maybe you can try that :)

rcjtenr/ecovacs · Ecovacs Deebot X1 Omni – Self Clean / Dirty Water Drain Problem →2025-12-05
I had the exact same issue, where pressing on the dirty tank lid was the only way for it to drain the basin. The lip on the tank seal is likely just barely deformed. I bought a new tank off AliExpress for $15 and haven't had an issue since.

I've had a deebot x1 omni or whatever it was called, switchbot s10 and now ordered this one.. Switchbot app sucked at release but they quickly improved it and even responded & added a suggestion of mine. deebot one was my first one and I thought the app was okay. curious to find out about the dreame one now :) Deebot had a wheel motor die => they didnt find a replacement => got a refund Switchbot => out of the 14ish months of owning it in total, it was in their repair center for 5 of them (and defect waiting for another repair for a long time as well).. I just requested a refund since I was sick of having to send it back each time and not have a usable robot. also their support has gotten so slow to respond lately (it wasn't like this at the start) (3d-2w to respond.. when they finally decide you can send it back they ask you to confirm the address and then you need to wait another 3d-2w until you finally get the tracking info..)

I have an Ecovacs X1 omni, have been using it for over 2 years now. No complaints. Works flawlessly. Floors are all wood and I have a lot of carpets and pets too. My friend has a Roborock (S7 pro I think), that is a great brand too.

Tasty_Pool8812r/RobotVacuums · Sneak Peek: Vacuum Wars Review of the Ecovacs Deebot X8 Pro Omni →2025-03-22
Do any roller mop bot users know how the roller design handles debris like dog hair or dirt? My ecovacs x1 omni often misses some debris while vacuuming and I wonder if this would cause issues with the internals of a roller mop. Any other cons to know about compared to spinning mops?

So 10 months after your original post I am here to say Ecovacs has not figured out the issues here. I bought the X2 4 months ago and in that time I have had 3 units!!!!! They work VERY well for 30 days +/- and then they start to act up. The first time I gave Ecovacs the benefit of the doubt because I loved my X1 that I had for 2 years until it just died so I thought I was upgrading to the X2. Within a week they sent me a replacement unit (refurbished) which had the same issues out of the box 🤦🏼♀️ Again, after going round and round and sending them countless videos of my home, furniture placement, and what the issues were they had me send the second unit in for "testing". After another two weeks they emailed and said they found a malfunction with the navigation sensors so they were sending a brand new unit out (not refurbished). That unit worked great for 28 days and then started the same issues all over again the previous two had. will not run auto clean, only wants to do one room at a time When cleaning will do the perimeter and a couple of passes and then say its done cleaning When it charges in the base station if I dont use it right away it starts to drain its own battery frequently cant find its way back to the station (even if its sitting right in front of it) At this point Ecovacs refuses to give me a refund after 3 failed units but is happy to keep sending me a new unit every 30 days until my warranty runs out 🤬

I just got the S7 max ultra and find the mopping is nearly useless compared to the X1 omni I had (pump broke after 18 months and got a full refund from Amazon). Tempted by the X2 but the app sucks so bad

I've had many robot vacuums over the years, Shark and Roomba brands mostly and different models, which were terrible especially Roomba, I remember dropping $1k on a Roomba and needed a replacement 2 months after use, it would not dock, but same issue happened with replacement. I was at the point of giving up on robot vacuums until one day I decided to buy a T8+, that vacuum made me a believer again, so after a year of use I bought X1 last year in November 2022, and so far I have had no issues at all. Mapping sucks, so I stopped paying attention to it, because after countless of re-mapping it just never got it right, I did place two boundaries and that's the last time I looked at the map, because I simply don't do it as it works great on a daily schedule. What I don't like about X1 is the bottom tray that is not removable, cleaning it is annoying, I simply don't want to deal with that and want an easier process with a removable tray, so I started looking into X2, well I actually already ordered it for a pickup, but still doing some research. I've been very happy with Deebot so far, never needed to contact them as T8+ and X1 had no issues. I looked into Roborock S8 Pro Ultra, but I'm not a fan of that mop, and I want a rotating ones. I looked into Dreame L20, it looks like X1 with minor changes and still a problematic tray that will require getting on the knees for cleaning. All other Roborock models to me look like a downgrade from X1. Like I said I've been pretty happy with T8+ and X1, but the tray is what makes me want X2. I don't want T20, I want the newest product. So far what I've been reading on X2 seems like the usual outcome, those who are happy stay quiet, and those who are not coming out to complain. There is a reason why we live in a world of consumerism and there are plenty of options, additionally it is expected that some units will have issues. On Amazon X1 has a worse rating than X2, so if I'm happy with X1, it means I'll be super happy with X2, I mean that's what I hope for. My X1 is a beast, it has a daily schedule with everything set on high, sure I wish the water lasted longer, but I can live with that. I have 60 days return with Best Buy here, although I'm thinking of upgrading to Best Buy Total since it offers a whole year of protection. Generally we have here 1 year warranty already for all products from manufacturers, but from what I'm reading that ecovacs require vacuums to be shipped to them in China for any issues, definitely don't want to deal with that. I guess I'll continue doing my research and reading reviews, but based from what I've read I'm learning towards picking X2 tomorrow.
